wonder if tealor briefly had a sense of deja vu when looking at the prophet for the first time. like they were strangely familiar. through the fog of his memories, he sees a flash of 3 years before, when he was approached by a shadow figure who emanated the same otherworldly aura. the prophet is naive and untrained. but the shadow god, despite still being early on in their quest, was already ready and waiting to take on fate

thoughts on taranor coarek?

Ooo, not one I thought I’d have any thoughts about but definitely did! 

First and foremost, I appreciated the consistency Coarek has between Nehrim and Enderal.  Anybody big into the lore between those two games KNOWS that intact bridges between the two are FEW and FAR between!  Coarek, in my opinion, is one of those bridges. 

Now, of course there’s the glaring difference of not being batshit crazy in Nehrim, BUT!  When I say consistent I mean more in the sense that in both games he is absolutely 100% a egotistical buttmunch who is frustratingly useful and a guy that would be ridiculously easy to befriend if not for just that odd, gritty/slimy feeling that gets under your skin in small moments of talking to him. Unless that was just me!  Admittedly experiencing the Coarek of Enderal -first- did influence my thoughts of him in Nehrim, even if he is noticeably more chill in the latter - I can’t shittalk too much, the man gave me a whole ass castle. 

Coarek is just SUPER charismatic, and that ability to present as he does makes it pretty clear why he was able to unify the North into splitting off and follow him after that chunk of the nation being compliant with Barateon for (depending on what you subscribe to canon wise) anywhere between a couple decades to -ceeeenturies- of time!  Aaaand why he was able to end up at head of the largest host army Vyn has seen in recent history, I figure- at least in a way that doesn’t make the conquered want to keep fighting back.  Like, as he is in Nehrim, this is a man who -is- King sure, but it’s a fairly new deal, it’s definitely not traditional outside of knowing there were at some point, other Northern Kings (-points at Wuran, whoever that guy was-). But I figure that lack of formality makes him more genuine/easier to get along with, his people truly -want- to follow him into battle, only made more robust by the fact he -does- clearly give a shit about past customs and Northern ways of doing things, which Barateon couldn’t give a rat’s ass about. The Aeterna issue and freeing them is less something I feel Coarek really- stands for and is more just on his checklist of political bits to net him the support to do what -he- wants- 

Alrightalrightalright, before this gets too long!  

Nehrim Coarek -  He’s a seemingly cool and cunning dude who under the hood definitely has some ego issues that TOTALLY aren’t gonna bite him in the ass later. But 10/10, -would- drink with the guy. Bonus points if I get to fire the collateral damage lazer Cahbaet reverse engineered from the one fired at them by Barateon. 

Enderal Coarek - Argueably not the same person given the whole Emissary thing, but shares enough qualities to be believable. Three years post power vacuum have done -zero- good things for that ego problem aaaaaand 0/10 would not drink with that man, I like my eyes -not- scooped out with a spoon just because I ponder “What does it all mean?” from time to time. 

Like, he’s base line not a good guy either way, but at least Nehrim’s Coarek is y’know, a human being a human and not a freakish reptile-brained loon who knows enough big words to sound convincing to -mentally diseased masses- because Red Madness. Was that too harsh on Enderal’s version? Maybe. I dunno. He’s just a -touch- cartoonish I guess. Not enough to -not- be believable though. He’s a decent enough secondary villain with understandable reasons for doing what he does-  that is until he starts talking about evolution into a higher form of being that’s just...pfft. -Oof-. Boi u crazy.

I decided to design Azuriel's clothing while she was hitting time with Jeele's band. I formerly had a ceremonial outfit too for the Order Initiation (a brief event that took place in the Monastery), but it was silver and white and I eventually came to the conclusion that in today's context, white dresses have very specific meanings.

AND I'd also rather be true to the source material depicting the "nehrimese mages" in green.

So I ditched that, but did not included the green ceremonial one because I have not drawn it yet :3 It's just in my mind for now.

So this is another sheet that I'm planning to keep updated.
