This is a continuation of the domestic husband Shang Tsung idea I sent a while back but like: Domestic timeline!Shang finding out about the horrors and behavior his Mk1 timeline version did and how he was the one that fucked uo and turned his wife into the Medusa he sees. He is rightfully pissed off because a) he left the life of an mad sourcerer behind ages ago, b) He would never do that his wife and the mother of his children no matter if she ignored his advances or not. He promises to help Liu Kang out as long as they help find his wife. When he finds Mk1Shang Tsung and Quan Chi he beats their asses again not long after his version of Medusa!Reader did.

I remember that ask and how interesting a thought experiment it was😁

And to add on to what your ask. Consider Domestic Timeline Medusa!Reader is gone when her hubby and Lord Lui Kang arrive in New!Era Shang Tsung’s island to find her gone. Not too long ago, she took a boat to sail off after defeating them both. Where? They have no idea, really. Already stressed out from the New!Era version of his wife trying to kill him, everyone treating him like an enemy, and wondering where in the 10 Hells his wife is, I'd say Hubby Shang Tsung is rightfully ready to throw hands with his other self.

I'd imagine their interrogation to be something like:

Domestic Timeline!Shang: Where is my wife?!

*Proceeds to punch the ever-loving daylights out of his new era self*

Later

Lui Kang: Alright, Shang Tsung, we need to calmly question your other self-

*Not hearing a word, Hubby Shang Tsung grabs his other self by the collar to punch him in between each word.*

Hubby Shang Tsung: WHERE *Punch* IS *PUNCH* Y/N?!? *K.O!!!*

my little brother is making me watch loki with him and i have to say it's really impressive that they've done 2 episodes of a 6 episode season where nothing happens and i can't figure out what the plot of the season is with the most boring dialogue known to man. multiple scenes in which they just talk about what they're doing and/or what they're about to do and whispering for 3-4 minutes in the stalest sentences you've ever seen

After reading the domestic timeline ask, I kind of have a possibily dumb and funny spin on it. What if we not only had domestic Shang Tsung and domestic Medusa!reader not only wound up in the New Era timeline and got separated but their oldest child was also with domestic Shang Tsung, and while at first they seem normal at first glance but as soon as they catch wind that there is a possibility that their mother is in danger, they go full on Gorgon, their hair turns into snakes, their eyes are glowing, and they are hissing and ready to throw hands if anything happens to their mother, and now Liu Kang has to deal with over protective hubby! Shang Tsung but now he’s got to deal with a feral Gorgon on the loose and neither is willing to back down until their Medusa! Reader is safe and Liu Kang has to make sure these two don’t go berserk and maim New Era!Shang Tsung and Quan Chi because an overprotective Husband and Child woke up and chose violence

Woke up and chose violence🤣🤣🤣🤣 That's the entire Shang family there! For anyone confused about what the hell they're talking about, go here and here in that order.

First off, I can imagine that MK1 Medusa!Reader's reaction to learning she has a child with Shang Tsung of all people, may be enough to cause her to faint or go completely still as if she were turned into stone. MK1 Shang Tsung, learning another version of himself had a child with the woman he's obsessed with, I can imagine strokes his narcissism since his line has been carried on. That's until said child tries to bite at him while spouting out coloful threats. I can see Quan-chi giving an amused smirk at the scene and commenting "They're definetely your protege."

Also consider this basically is what happens with Shang Tsung and Y/N's child uhhhh Shang Jin or Jin, and Lord Liu Kang as the latter escorts the them to MK1 Shang Tsung and Quan-chi's cells.

Liu Kang: Young Jin, please remain calm as we question the sorcerers. We need them alive if we want to find your mother.

Jin's eyes start to glow much like his mother's: I just want to speak with them

Liu Kang: Wait, what's that hissing noise?

*Jin's long hair shapeshifts into snakes*

Jin: I just want to speak with them.

*Liu Kang narrows his eyes*

Liu Kang: Shang Jin, do not act rashly. We will find you your mother...

*Jin continues to speak over Liu Kang's lecture*

Jin: I just want to speak with them. I just want to speak with them. I just want to speak with them.

*His tone changes when they're finally in front of the Sorcerer's cells and now Jin fully resembles his gorgon mother.*

Jin: I just want to turn them to ssstone. I just want to turn them to ssstone. I just want to turn them to ssstone!

*Jin then grabs MK1 Shang Tsung through the bars while baring his fangs*

Jin: WHAT DID YOU DO TO MOTHER?!

I do plan on starting Delusion but after I fully finish and post Menticide. So please be patient with me. Motivation is really hard right now. I appreciate you being excited but I need to do this at my own pace so I don't burn myself out.

wait sorry i think i'm missing some context here what does short round mean

#so like for a lot of people short round was one of a handful of asian characters in mainstream media specifically young characters #and I can’t speak on this personally but of course one of the results of this was his name ending up used by some as a perjorative for like #any asian kid. obviously (and especially with ke huy quan’s return to acting) there’s a lot of complicated elements to this since short #round is also like a character cherished by many for the representation he does lend it’s just like well. jared read ‘short—‘ in the script #referring to an asian character and he was like yeah I know exactly how that line should end #anon #answered
