Say what you will about The Winchesters but it gave Dean a future. It gave back at least in some form that future he was robbed of, gave him possibilities, gave him back his active role in shaping his own story, the very thing he fought so hard for. Whatever happens, whether we get season 2 or not, whether we see more of him or not, we know now that the finale was not the end - this is now a part of canon and always will be <3

People who say Spn was only good in seasons 1-5 and people who say BtVS was only good in seasons 1-3 are the same kind of enigma to me. Like you do you, but could never be me. I need my Blorbos to grow up, experience tragic & messy & occasionally wonderful romance plots, and also to become unconventional co-parents with their ex-enemy-now-love-interest to a kid who didn't exist yesterday but is now a teenager.

I’m so conflicted about the smoker Dean idea because.. on one hand, yeah, i can totally see it, just one of his many unhealthy coping mechanisms, also the oral fixation, and the whole Aesthetic™ of it mmm..... he would definitely be able to enjoy a damn marlboro with such decadence that the whole ordeal turns into an act of divine pleasure 😩

on the other hand though, Dean never thought of his body as his own, it’s always a tool, a weapon, a means to an end, and while he doesn’t take particularly good care of it, also let’s note that his most prominent unhealthy habit is drinking - we know John does this too -, and the other way he constantly endangers himself is on hunts, which is, again something directly learned from John...

so i can also absolutely see a strict line here, you gotta take care of your weapon (body), make sure it functions, stitch up the wounds on it, get your 4 hrs of sleep, get some calories in, only ruin it in the ways that follow in your god’s your father’s footsteps etc. etc.
