I love the dynamic between Scully and Doggett, and I think the parallel between his son’s death and his desire to protect Scully from what he experienced is so powerful.

We know his son tragically died, but it isn’t until Empedocles that we know just how much his experience of finding him mirrored Scully’s (i.e, stumbling across the dead body discarded carelessly in a field).

From approaching a group of people huddled around the body to your partner looking at you with despair, he’s been in her shoes

He knows what it’s like to see the body of someone you love more than anything lying lifelessly in a field.

I know him pulling Scully back is frustrating to us as viewers. We’ve watched Mulder and Scully for seven years, we know the depth of their love for one another, and it can be aggravating seeing someone coming in between them in such a devastating moment.

But thinking of it from his perspective is so heartbreaking.

He is haunted by the memory of seeing his son like that. That is how he remembers his little boy. It was cruel, senseless, and (until Release) a mystery.

He wanted to spare Scully from having that with Mulder.

If I’m remembering correctly, Reyes even said seeing him unmoving next to his son in that field was haunting, he was paralyzed with grief and shock.

Doggett was trying to do Scully a kindness because he’s still haunted from when he experienced something hauntingly similar.

Again, we don’t get to know that was his motivation until a few episodes later. But with how similar the framing was, we know that it was a purposeful parallel.

It’s heartbreaking to think Reyes recognized the similarities at the time they found Mulder, and she knew how re-traumatizing that would be for Doggett.

She watched him relive the worst moment of his life and try to intervene to prevent someone from experiencing what he did.

It reminds me of how Skinner knew how awful it was to deliver heart-shattering news and chose to intervene and save Scully from having to do it.

In both cases, it may feel like it wasn’t their place, but it came from a place of empathetic kindness.

Cosplay Guides - MWII Multiplayer Operators

I'm back!!!!

So these are the first batch of MWII MP operator cosplay guides. I decided to stick to the standard skins for these six, due to both popular demand and level of detail. I've found some of the other skins released for some characters to be too fantastical or not bearing enough realistic detail to be worth a breakdown.

Anyway, I've got six people here for everyone: three from SPECGRU and three for KORTAC.

A reminder for those who are a little out of the loop:

Some of what you may see may not be commercially available as it either might be government sales only, or not physically exist in that colour/pattern.

Oomi stood beside the airport with mildly readable anxiety on his face. Lucian called him the day before, finding a reliable clue which surely brought them all closer to the Box of Pandora. The idea tightened his throat and jerked his face into a reluctant grimace.

Bringing Nivian with himself was equally reassuring and towards the demon, cruel. He assisted him and the other lords closer to death which was of course, very much against his liking.

Oomi wore all dark clothes and had his katana across his back, hands covered in thin, leather gloves.

They were about to flew all the way to Greece, to find a labyrinth, seen by no one since 2000 years. Looking back over his shoulder he was looking for his partner with a sigh, through his nose.- I am coming only to see if they really find something. Otherwise, I am no longer interested in the box. The desperate I was to find it, the reluctant I am now.- he spoke silently.

"Me too."- Violence added inside his head, which made the angel to huff with a small smile he conveyed the popular option of his demon to Nivian.- Violence says, he feels the same. But his standpoint never changed.

Looking ahead, he saw Amun and Reyes approaching them, their tall, strong form unfolding from the night fog.- I hope you'll be good...- Oomi muttered to Asylum, who stood well behind them, eyeing the lights of the airport buildings.

- Thanks for the trust, brother.- Asylum replied, turning towards the arriving lords, with a fleeting, disgusted grimace appearing on his flawless face. This time, instead of his fancy clothes he was wearing simple, tight black trousers, and a hoodie, hiding his silver hair. Under that, of course, he wore various stabbing weapons what he wielded with shocking agility, even if it was needless to fight in the last few decades.
