#Rua Arc

Note
For the pure hypothetical of it let’s say Pyrrha and weiss do go full goth and decide to surprise jaune and Rua with it what are the two arcs reactions?
Worry! Genuine worry! Because now they think something wrong is happening.
"Pyr, did I do something? Do we need to go to counceling?"
"Weiss, are you alright? If there are any issues you may have, you are always free to speak to me."

Aro was chronically ill his whole life, but never new the root cause and true severity until adulthood. He was always the kid who’s wrists hurt from spinning his saber, or knees ache from sitting too long while meditating. He always seemed to catch something everytime he left Coruscant.
It was’t long until Aro was unable to keep up with his classes and fell behind his peers. He was unable to keep up, which resulted in Aro nearly being ejected from the initiate program and ejected from the order. It was Master Ima Gun Di who advocated for Aro to be allowed to take the padawan trials at 14, and miraculously Aro passed.
Tumblr media
((A little fact: Nite keeps one of Aro’s emergency inhalers in his belt pouch in case Aro needs it, can’t get to his, or if it’s damaged in a fight. (A pressurized can and flying laser beams sound like a healthy mix.) Likewise, Aro keeps his daily meds in a pouch on his own belt.))

A Yugioh DM reboot could have been done well, especially if it's more like the Sailor Moon one, but I agree it feels wrong without Kazuki Takahashi to lead it and make sure it's done correctly. Dark Side of Dimensions was the best sendoff DM could have, and it's the last Yugioh project he worked on.
I think Yugioh as a franchise has changed so wildly over the years that any new series are fine under new creators, though I haven't watched any since Zexal, I just think DM/GX/5Ds should be left alone now. :( 5Ds is my favorite series and I'll always wish there was more of it, but after being so unsatisfied with how Arc-V handled the few characters it pulled from 5Ds, I'd rather it just not get touched again. Aside from that, as Dylan points out, a huge part of YGO's existence is selling the card game irl, and I don't want the DM decks to change! A huge part of DM is that it's a relatively new card game that people don't know the dark history of, and during Duelist Kingdom, there aren't even firm rules - they make stuff up ALL THE TIME. Battle City is where most of the iconic basic rules of the card game are from. I think a huge part of DM is knowing that at that point, the card game only existed as a proxy to the original spirit battles. It didn't become its own thing separate from that history until GX.
I think the only thing with DM I'd be willing to watch would be a re-dub with lines close to the original dialogue rather than all the 4Kids censorship junk it's saddled with now. I'm even fine with keeping the dub names for consistency. And I'd only feel okay about that because no one is writing anything new or changing anything, outside of maybe some localization for phrases that aren't as common in english. I'd miss some of the iconic 4Kids bits like the finger guns and Kaiba calling them all dorks constantly (or "Anyone who is late will be disqualified, Mokuba make sure Wheeler is late") but it's the only way to touch on the initial trilogy that feels respectful, you know? lol

The biggest problem I have with the Crow and Aki vs Sherry is oddly enough the same problem I have with Demack vs the twins, and its this: there are no personal stakes -- at least, not to the degree as the other duels.
Demack vs the twins? We know literally nothing about Demack. How did he become a Dark Signer? Why did he becoming one? What was left unfilled in his life for him to be brought back? There is no real personal connection between him and the twins and there can't be because we don't know anything about him. Yes, the focus is supposed to just be on Ruka getting AFD back, but... the lack of connection doesn't help me feel invested in the duel part of those episodes.
Crow and Aki vs Sherry? They just never really interact with each other -- not in any meaningful way, least ways -- which makes the duel feel much more impersonal. They try to make a connection between Sherry and Crow, sure, and they give a good enough go at it, but in the end it just feels forced.
This has been talked about plenty already but -- if the writers had spent more time on the characters that actually mattered (the main, established cast, with a little on Sherry and Bruno) instead of spending so much time on the backstories of characters that didn't impact the plot beyond their own duels (Teams Unicorn and Taiyo), then maybe that duel with Sherry could have meant more.

First Impression: Love is Panacea
Tumblr media
I have just finished the first 4 episodes of the drama on Youkou. It took me over an hour to get the app to take my money, so this better be worth it.
The drama is project for Literature and Art of the Sichuan province and co-produced by Youkou and CCPTV. Therefore, we can expect a lot of national propaganda in the show, especially since it’s not only a medical drama, but also about international medical aid and foreign aid. Lou Yunxi seems to really take his nickname as Sichuan ambassador seriously! ;-)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cast and Characters (so far)
Zhang Rua Nan as Su Weian: A medical school dropout on a quest to enjoy her life, struggling to make ends meet overseas. She becomes a translator at the local Chinese Medical Aid hospital.
Luo Yunxi as Dr. Gu Yun Zheng: A passionate but cold doctor working in Chinese Medical relief/aid in North Africa. He is Su Weian former teacher. He is initially very skeptical of the FL intentions and abilities.
Wang Yiting as Jiang Muying: Su Weian’s best friend, that travels to see her after a long time.
Li Jiahao as Fang Mingfan (Nian Baiyu!) doctor and assistant and love interest of Jiang Muying. I expect them to be the 3rd couple of the show.
Shawn Wei as Dun Yuncheng: As the CEO of a pharmaceutical company. He had a one-sided crush on the FL and is the half brother of the ML. We haven’t seen them interact in the present yet, but there is a nice build up to an interesting dynamic.
Mild Spoiler
The first arc of the show takes place in a small city in North Africa. Foreign actors in Chinese Dramas are always … something, and this is no difference. The dubbing is also noticeable different compared to the rest. I do, however, like how the show approaches different languages and the language barrier. Dr. Gu only speaks Chinese and English and needs a French translator to communicate with patients and staff – this is where Su Weian comes in.
There is a lot of unintended comedy, because of the way they are depicting the foreign country. While some is just silly – for example the way they are throwing $ bills around as if it was Yuan, other times it relies too much on exoticism. So far, they haven’t crossed the line to straight out racist stereotyping, so that’s something. It does, at times, make a lot of the scenes feel over the top and cringe. However, no matter the country of origin, very rarely do productions get other languages and culture right. China in Western media is often just horrible, so I’m not going to hold it against them. The medical stuff is also mostly fine, it’s not accurate, but it’s not so wrong, that I’m getting angry. So the framing of the show is okay, I think it will get better once they are back in China.
Dr. Gu is a typical character played by Luo Yunxi: Serious, passionate, troubled and very in love with a woman. He excels in this role, as always. His English is also amazing! Su Weian is so far the more interesting character. She is everything I want from a FL: strong, independent, witty and smart. So far, we were only introduced to 3 side characters, that have not shown any depth yet. I’m just really happy to see Tantai Jin and Nian Baiyun reunite on screen – still being master and assistant. I do miss their costume so, because the styling in this show is… different.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The cast of the show is so far the best part. While the script relies on a lot of cliché tropes, it’s the dynamic between the actors, that make the show engaging. I’m rather pessimistic about the script so far, it might end somewhere between “Lie to Love” and “Broker”. However, the acting and the chemistry between the leads is significantly better!
One of my favorite things is, how self-aware the show is at times: Be it the supporting cast admitting being the side characters of the leads' life, the subverting of stereotypes of Chinese eating strange things like insects or the nurses watching costume dramas on the Youkou apps and taking dating advice from it. So I’m holding out hope that the overly cliché romantic tropes are an attempt to mislead the audience into thinking this is just a romantic show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m going to talk about the ending of the show next. Please just stop reading here, if you don’t want to get spoiled!
Major Spoiler
On a personal note, I was misdiagnosed with a deadly disease earlier this year. While I’m incredibly lucky, that it turned out a misdiagnosis, for a couple of months I had to live with the belief that I was going to die early and in a lot of pain. So this show hits on a different level and that's why it’s important to me, that the novel ending stays the same. (Spoiler!!)
I’m a bit nervous about it, because not only did they cut out 6 full episodes, they also changed the name to “Healing Lover”. I don’t want the FL to be healed. There is no cure for her disease in real life, so there shouldn’t be one in the drama. Suffering from life altering disease is part of many people's life, that affect not only them, but also their family and friends. It would feel insulting, if they change it. I want to see a drama, in which the cast has to come to terms with the FL death. I want her husband and son to find a way to cope and live on. I want maximum angst. No rainbow at night.

GIMME ME THAT SWEET SWEET ZHAO LORE (please) 💕
Kay' so I already gave yall' her backstory but I might as well explain something about her character.
So in her backstory there are three major parts:
-Her family (The Lihuang Clan)
-Lánhūa
-and Jttw
Now I didn't mention this in my other post but Lánhūa wasn't immortal, even though Zhao was.... I said Zhao and Wukong met when Wukong was 346 years under that mountain and as we all know he was under there for 500 years total. So wouldn't you guess 164 years later when he goes to visit his girl buddie and well... I think you all know what happened 😔
Losing her family who she loved but knew didn't love her back was already so much, and now she lost Lánhūa as well.
In book JTTW her family and Lánhūa were her two losses and Tripitaka & the pilgrims were the people who stuck. Now I wanted there to be specifically two loses and the recovery, these three stages are meant to symbolize "the rain, the storm and the Sun"
The rain symbolizes her leaving her family, because rain isn't such a big deal, you know? You can always chose to get under your umbrella or something like that. Why? So you don't get wet. Just like Zhao left her family because she didn't want to be mistreated anymore
The storm symbolizes Lánhūa's death. When there's a storm you can't really stay outside, you just get wet, cold and dirty. It might ruin your mood because even if you do try to get home you'll get wet as all hell. And when I say storm I mean big boy storm, like the type of storm in which you can barely get out of your house. It's pure strife but in weather form. This symbolizes how when Lánhūa died Zhao's whole life was just strife, not strife with someone else, but strife with herself. She often blames herself for not doing more to help Lánhua live a long and healthy life.
The Sun symbolizes well.. Sun Wukong. After the storm comes the Sun and warms you up, in my personal experience good weather also lightens up my mood a lil' bit. Tripitaka and the pilgrims were Zhao's Sun. They didn't come and go they came and stayed. Throughout the book Zhao is very anxious to form a deeper friendship with tripitaka and the pilgrims, because she doesn't want to befriend people who she knows will leave her again. But at the end of the book when she finally realizes these people won't leave her she becomes warmer.
(After Lánhūa died Zhao because a much colder and less social person. The book is basically her character arc of becoming warmer and happier after finally finding real emotional bonds :'> )
However like I said in LMK Lánhūa is cut. So instead her rain is still her family, her storm are Tripitaka and the pilgrims and her Sun are MK and MK's group.
Considering LMK takes place hundreds of years after JTTW i think it's safe to say Sanzang, Pigsy, Sandy and Ao Lie have all passed.
So instead of losing Lánhūa she lost Tripitaka's group. And instead of finally finding people who will stay being Tripitaka's group those people are MK and MK's group.
Now you might be asking me "But Rua, Monkey is also immortal? Why don't Monkey King and Zhao stay together? They have similar problems?" Well my dears, they had a bit of a rough start when they first see each other again at the start of LMK season two (which is when Zhao gets introduced), but throughout LMK they're having a character arc of becoming friends again, and not like they hate each other (because I didn't want their relationship to just be a rip-off of Macaque and Monkey), but they're generally awkward and quiet towards one another.
So ye-
Thank you for asking and thank you for comin to my Ted talk :) (again)

(the dvd ending extra yay \o/)
some closing thoughts after this 2-months long adventure revisiting Yugioh 5D's..
I feel like I finally could enjoy this show as it's supposed to be enjoyed and it probably has to do with the fact that I'm more mature now (also finally able to get the full hd experience 🤣) and there's a fun thing about having a dogshit working memory: to be able to experience this show almost as if it was the first time again 😊 I can't recall when was the last time I watched it but it was probably close to 8-10 years ago 🤣
some loathed characters became favorites - I was avoiding this show like the plague because Jack Atlas was just......... so bad for past me 🤣🤣🤣 - well it turns out his peacock personality and overpowering sex appeal worked on me 🙄 Thanks I hate it 🤣💜
some characters I paid no attention before became favorites, too: Rex Godwin have my whole heart and I am so sad he died.. man why do my favorites always die huh huh???? 😭 get me out of here with this shit......... also, Rua (Lua) is the sweetest little guy and I was so damn excited for him because he's just so goddamn cool?!??1 Wtf!! Also most the "villains" since I'm built different and villains are my weak spot 🤣
my favorites are still my favorites so it was a delight to go back to them and love them even more, and see them in a different way than before
and man....... the freaking shipping that was going on inside of my brain LMFAO AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
guess the most surprising thing though?
Bruno/Antinomy!
have to confess I did not remember him much so I kind of went on blind and, fuck me, he became one of my favs and do I even risk to say he IS my favorite character in this show?!!?? I could talk about this and about him for days but the long story short is that he checked all the boxes for me and pressed all the right buttons too and then he died too because of fucking course he died and I cried like fuck my life dude. That was so devastating... definitely want to give this show another go soon just so I can watch Bruno again. We have never had another character as cool and interesting as him in the franchise
as is tradition in YGOs, 5Ds started getting much better by the end, but it was very solid all over (except that arc full of fillers, it was annoying as hell because the episodes were not good), Crash Town was fun, and the last two arcs (WRGP and Ark Cradle) were very good
overall.. I think I'd bump 5Ds all the way up, becoming my second favorite YGO (guess it was in 4th place before?), because Zexal takes the podium FOR NOW, we'll see when I rewatch it and just how that will go XD
because we don't gatekeep on this house, you can find mkv+soft subs at nyaa dot si (best quality you'll get, but the files are fucking massive), and streaming at 123anime dot info (you can download there too, but it's mp4+hard subs). Both have all YGO series and a few other things too yay \o/

Have you ever thought about moments (whether in canon or in your own scenarios) where Aki could possibly call on the full Mark of the Dragon? Out of the signers, only Aki and Luca iirc are the only ones seen without manifesting the insignia on their backs.
Anon I have thought about this so often it’s not even funny. I have, on several occasions, sat in rooms by myself, seemingly staring at nothing while my mind was going at 200 km/h trying to figure out a scenario where this could happen to Aki. As it turns out, though, canon is… kinda in the way when it comes to that. Bear with me, this answer might get more long-winded than intended, but here’s the thing(s):
I had to go back and check myself just to be sure, but in canon, only four people have managed to unify the signer marks in special situations: Yusei, Jack, Rua, and, surprisingly, Rex Goodwin. And Yusei is the only one who managed it not one, but several times. (Among those times: his second duel against Kiryu, his first duel against Placido, the BBT duel against Paradox, and his final duel against Z-ONE. Meanwhile, Jack only did it in his duel against dark signer Carly and maybe also in the duel against Red Nova, I don’t remember that exactly, Rua did it when he almost died against Aporia, and Goodwin did it for no apparent reason during his stint as the final antagonist of the DS arc.) Meaning that Crow, Ruka, and Aki never even got their chance. As to why they didn’t, frankly (at least in my opinion, mind, I’m not the central authority on canon), I think it’s because the antagonists bringing about the situations where the mark is unified (not counting Goodwin’s nonsense) were all tailored to the people defeating them. Kiryu, Placido, and Z-ONE were super personal fights for Yusei. Carly was arguably THE single most personal duel for Jack in the entire show. And Aporia, the personification of despair, facing off against little Rua, who refused to give up hope until his (nearly) last breath? Yeah, also personal.
And the thing is, Crow, Ruka, and Aki don’t really… have anyone like that. Arguably, their respective dark signer duels would have still fit the bill the best, since the dark signers were very personal antagonists by default (a reason why I adore them). At the same time, I can see why the writers didn’t do that, because if every signer had had a unified-mark-Majestic-Dragon moment during a dark signer duel, it would have quickly felt gimmicky instead of earned.
Which brings me back to your question—a moment where Aki could possibly unify the signer marks would have to feel earned, and thus, it would have to put her up against an antagonist who’s a fairly big obstacle, for one, and who’s ideally a personal fight for her, too. As you may realise, canon doesn’t exactly give her that. All the major antagonists, especially during the WRGP arc, aren’t personal fights for her, more vague threats against the whole world. None of them are written to juxtapose or foil her, and she isn’t written to juxtapose or foil any of them. (You could argue that Sherry is somewhat personal, but with her flip-flopping allegiances, she honestly doesn’t count as enough of an antagonist for this for me.) The only antagonists who come even close to being appropriate fights for a scenario where Aki could get her hypothetical Majestic Rose Dragon (or other upgrade) moment are Misty, who isn’t treated as big enough of a threat for the reasons stated above, and Divine, who exits the stage after his last hurrah in the Misty duel with absolutely no fanfare whatsoever. Which means that as far as canon is concerned, Aki has no proper opponent available who could make a moment like that happen. As such, I feel that if one wanted to give Aki a nice, well-earned moment where she gets to unify the signer marks (and god, do I want to give her that moment), there are only two ways it could go: 1. Dust off Divine and make him a proper threat somehow (which is risky because he was previously already removed from the narrative and might thus come off as repetitive), or 2. Make up an antagonist who’s not tailored to Yusei or Jack for once, but to Aki (which is also risky because it requires good setup in order to make the payoff moment feel earned).
So yes, anon, I have thought about it, haha. Often enough that it drives me a little insane. Unfortunately, canon is extremely unhelpful where this scenario is concerned. Which is not to say that I am not scheming to find a way to make such a moment happen anyway, at least in my adjusted version of canon.

*stokes the fire* Aporia
thinking about that tweet that's like "i like your funny reply friend! you'll be buried in my pyramid with me when i die"--that's how i feel with you delightful anons who give me excuses to Go Bananas About Aporia. said with so much love in my heart. thank you <3
favorite thing about them: GOD. THERE REALLY IS SO MUCH. Of course I love his design, it's absolutely bonkers in the best way--if you told me two years ago there was a nine foot tall monster robot yugioh character with angel symbolism out the ass i would have been like EXCUSE ME. HELLO. *RUNNING OVER* but also!! his arc is just fucking GOOD. he's just this sad and complex and angry and miserable old old old man in a robot werelion body who's actually three people who are actually just one person. peak yugioh villain nonsense i absolutely adore it. and i LOVE when villains have the face turn and fight back against the Big Bad as much as they can. it goes hard!!! (but also, specific small thing thats one of my favorite things about him--it's like, very implied despite being Gigantic he's fairly dexterous and gentle with how he handles things?? Always grabbing his tiny cards very delicately and doings little tricks with them and in tag force 6 (Citizen Kane for Insane Aporia Girlies) he actively tells you the protagonist that he doesnt make mistakes with how much force to use with things (being a machine and all.) idk it's just very cute to me. it's a sweet detail.)
least favorite thing about them: pained smile. big man proper's literally only in.....about 9-10 episodes total??? <:) crying. wailing. my kingdom for a SLIVER of more screentime. it's also a shame like. 2/3s of his episodes never got dubbed, I would have absolutely adored to see what the dubbed version would have looked like!! (especially since those eps include like. my Favorite 5ds duels. it'd be like having two whole cakes babey!!!!)
favorite line: ok im restraining myself from picking something from Tag Force because all of his dialogue in TF6 makes me sick in the head and i love it but I WILL PICK. SOMETHING FROM THE ANIME. LIKE A NORMAL PERSON. god. it's gotta be these.
Tumblr media
also "I was imprisoned by my feelings, so you can have my feelings" which he says immediately before this, also to Z-ONE. A.) theyre just raw as hell, B.) ooohhhh my god ohhhh my fucking godddddd he loved him so fucking muuuuuch buy my fucking SILENCE
brOTP: when people draw him being friends with leo and/or luna i get soooooo soft ;_____; my kingdom for an AU where aporia got to live and could interact with them for once not under the pretenses of needing to Kill Team 5Ds. WAUUGH. also i guess brotp adjacent but him interacting with his embodiments is so fucking funny and it's apparently just me and the tag force devs who see and know the truth on that.
OTP: ooouugh...oughhhhh you Know im talking bout those old old men!!!!! i am #1 absolute adorer of the Iliaster Four Stars Peepaw Polycule (Aporia/Z-one/Paradox/Antinomy) we know this we know this. but special mention to my most favorite combo of that of all, my beloved Z-ONE/Aporia. see above. it doesnt even have a damn ship name 🤪they just!!!! make me absolutely fucking insane. theyre married theyre divorced theyre god and his most devoted archangel theyre old friends theyre a Fleetwood Mac album and theyre EVERYTHING TO ME!!!!!!! the second i get over worrying about being annoying i will Not shut up about them even more!!!!!
nOTP: i think if you ship with rua/leo you should go to jail and then directly to hell immediately after <3
random headcanon: Aporia Aporiaaaa my beloved bisexual italian/cuban autistic nonbinary dadgirl. i think in another life where he wasnt Extremely Fucked Up and Died Like Five Times he could have been good with kids. also. i think in the implied fixed future where the Four Stars get to live normally he would be a furry. him and eurea both. furcon couple
unpopular opinion: he's a GOOD CHARACTER!!!! HE AND THE EPISODES HE'S IN HAVE MERIT!!!!!! NOBODY BUT LIKE MAYBE 12 PEOPLE GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THIS GUY BUT HE ROCKS AND I THINK MORE PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT HIM!!!!!!! drawing my big sword (draw tablet) I Will Make Them Know About Him. >:)c
song i associate with them: i, dana "the mountain goats lover" ninetales of course. keep finding tmg songs to associate with characters. And Genesis 30:3 is one of my favorite songs for Aporia, especially re: his dynamic with Z-ONE. "I will do what you ask me to do/Because of how I feel about you." IS SO!!! MUFFLED WAILING.
favorite picture of them: oh man. *slams my giant briefcase of aporia screenshots down on the table* ok. ok let's see. just ONE favorite? alright. ok. i got this. hm. this one i think
Tumblr media
A.) aaauuughh i love his 'broken' form i need to draw it sometimes....the Moment energy lines...... B.) TINY TINY FUCKING CARDS!!!!, C.) this is from the exact moment where something in my brain clicked and was like "oh. oh this guy is in my head now for real. maybe i do fuck with his design" and. well. things snowballed <3

My Impression to Im Rua/Lua
[[WARNING SPOILERS]]
In the story, Im Rua (or Lua) is the female version of Sinu Han. But for me, she's more like Jace Park of Big Deal. They both are the brains of the crew.
First, I suspect that Rua was made to be a boy. It's just my instinct haha. because PTJ Univers has a lot of male characters, it is possible that Rua's initial concept was male and changed to female.
If she is really Johan's interest love, the ship probably based on Johan and Jace's bromance story from One Night arc. Im Rua is a diplomat who influences others to follow her will just like Jace.
The chemistry between Johan and Jace was very good. The diplomatic Jace must deal with the unruly Johan. In the end, Johan slowly cares for Jace even though it’s covered by his strong tsundere. Meanwhile, Jace becomes interested in getting to know Johan more closely.
Is this happening again? But it looks like it won't be the same anymore because Johan's tsundere seems to be fading.
By the way, I suspect that PTJ has heard criticism from fans who complain about the lack of female fighter characters. So far, there are only 3 women who can fight. So let's just make no.5 of the Big Deal is a woman.
Maybe that’s it. My feelings for her are... I don’t know. It’s hard to explain. PTJ gave him interest love for too long, so I was bored and made an OC as Johan's interest love.
PTJ, you're late LOL.

An EVOLVING Duel! Stardust VS Red Daemon's | Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's OVA Uncut "Dub" (WIP #1)
Whoops, meant to post this here a few days back 😅
Happy new year! Since it was just the Christmas/general holiday season here in the US, I figured I'd finally get around to throwing up a little preview of this thing I've slowly been working on. This is a very rough WIP, since I'm still working on compiling dialogue (which I've been doing through quite a lot of use of the UltimateVocalRemover AI tool to rip and isolate vocals from the dubbed episodes, and which I used for a near-perfect rip of the OVA's music and SFX which prompted this idea in the first place--started this while I was bored waiting for my last hard drive to eventually fail any file recovery efforts back in October, and had finally gotten UVR working on my newly-reinstalled-with-Windows laptop, so I thought "...what if I did a thing")--ergo, I haven't done any volume-mixing or SFX touch-ups yet. This has also involved a lot of browsing through the dubbed episodes on Crunchyroll, then grabbing the audio in HQ to then run through UVR, lol.
As of now, I've done up to this part here after Shield Wing's destroyed, using lines from the MC throughout the series for the beginning, and then assembling/stitching together what works for some move explanations or comments from Rua/Ruka/Aki in the stands, trying to stick to the original script as able (for example, Rua's line about Shield Wing's effect had to be stitched together, since annoyingly the only time someone non-Yusei describes it, it's Crow during the WRGP arc), though I'm still trying to find a line that works for Aki's "You're being pretty loud yourself, Ruka" line earlier (as she's complaining about Rua cheering loudly; I made Ruka say "It's not that big of a deal" so I need a similar response lol).
And for Rua and Ruka, I'm focusing exclusively on Eileen Stevens's performances for both as of episode 65 going into the WRGP arc and her Duel Links lines for them, as 1) there's more to work with there, but also 2) it's a smoother performance imo.
And some lines here could be subject to change if I find another one with a more fitting inflection or something. Also eventually want to do some on-screen text translations for things like the landmark pop-ups early on if I can--maybe even use English card proxies if able as I've seen some do, but we'll see, lol.
Anyway yeah, hope this sounds interesting! I'm slowly working on this as I prioritize finalizing my GX subs so this'll mostly be on the backburner, but wanted to throw this up as a rough preview of what it's looking like!

A random assortment of autistic!Yusei headcanons on this fine Friday in December.
Yusei got a weighted blanket after the whole Arc Cradle ordeal. Best sleep he's ever had. Crow tried to borrow it once; it did not end well for him, lol.
Eye contact? What's that? Yusei doesn't know her.
He's more prone to shutdowns than meltdowns but they both do happen. (He's definitely accidently hurt himself on more than one occasion but he's gotten better at redirecting those behaviors even on his own as he's gotten older and his reactions less severe.)
He's semi-verbal to begin with so periods of losing speech entirely are a fairly normal occurrence. He's usually fine, and if he still needs to say something, the boys all know sign language anyway. (It's not "real" SL but rather a dialect of Satellite the citizens created to be able to communicate without Sector Security understanding them. Yes, I stole this from @/shitpostingkats, what of it? It lives rent free in my head.) The first time it happens after moving to the City, Yusei doesn't even consider that Aki and the twins don't know their SL and so he signs. Crow laughs at everyone's dumbfounded looks before he both translates for Yusei and then explains. All three are more than eager to learn it. (Rua thinks its "the coolest thing ever" in typical Rua fashion.)
Never quite breaks out of the "subtle stims only" mindset that was forced by necessity of the environment he grew up in. He wasn't about to give Sector Security any reason to single him out, after all, and old habits die really hard. Aki noticed he tended to rub his fingers together a lot, to the point of sometimes accidently scratching himself on the sharper edges of his nails when he's not wearing his gloves and started looking for other options. She bought him a spinner ring for his birthday and while it didn't 100% fix the problem, it did help quite a bit. (Between that and a tangle, he's practically good to go. He never had anything like that growing up, and they bring him great joy to have now.)
For the same reason, he was technically never diagnosed as a kid because Martha didn't want to paint a target on his back with SS. When he moved to the City, he didn't see any point. He was self-employed so any accommodations he could possibly need he could just, ya know, give himself. The first time he ever truly considered it was after he started working for MIDS and was working on his degree. (Even then it took quite a bit of convincing because he wasn't sold on it actually being helpful.)
Feel free to add on!
