rewatching the rapture (4×20) and I forgot how much I love this episode and jimmy novak. genuinely one of my favourite characters and plot lines. I love that we saw some of jimmy's backstory and it has some of my favourite scenes of the show.
when he comes home and he is about to eat dinner with his family and claire asks him if he's going to pray and he replies "no honey, I don't think I am" like that is so devastating. he went through so much. and then he immediately starts crying because he's so glad to just be back with his family but then that is almost immediately ripped from his hands.
I LOVE cas sm but jimmy so deserved better. and a better man than I would make a far better analysis of this episode, but alas, I am not a far better man. I just love this episode sm. and I wish we got to see more of jimmy.
ALSO!! this episode is the one where cas drops by far one of my favourite lines of his "I learned my lesson when I was away, dean. I serve heaven, I don't serve man. and I certainly don't serve you." and then right after that is when Sam gets locked in the panic room to detox from the demon blood and we get the "so what's the big demon problem" "you are" exchange. I LOVE THIS EPISODE!!

You know, in all my thousands of years, what happened to Jimmy Novak and his family- it's my greatest regret.
ID: Three digital drawings showing scenes for episodes 4.20 and 14.08 of Supernatural. The first drawing is a close up of Jimmy, slumped down and looking upwards with blood in his mouth. There is text over the drawing reading: "Me, just take me. Take me, please.". The second drawing shows Jimmy with his face tilted up while Cas repossesses him in 4.20 and Jack, also with his face tilted up, while Cas heals him in 14x08. In both cases, Cas is cupping their faces, which are lit up with light. The third drawing shows Cas, expression upset as he looks to the right. There is text reading: "Take me. Take me in his stead. Take me.". End ID.

I mean, angel inside of you, it's kinda like being chained to a comet.
For Halloween take this parody of The Thing (1982) x The Rapture, which in my mind have the exact same plot <3

Okay but why show us specifically Dean's reaction to Jimmy hugging his wife. They never cut just to Sam in these kinds of situations... always Dean... means nothing of course

rewatching Supernatural but this time I pay attention to all the cities they drive to and how long it takes from one city to another by car pt1.
Season 4 ep 20: The Rapture.
at the end of this episode Sam and Dean drive from Pontiac, Illinois to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. When they arrive at Bobby's house, he just says "thanks for shaking a tail". but it's a freaking 8-hour drive. The boys starts driving at night but it's unclear at what time they arrive at Bobby's.
God, how I wish they gave us just ONE episode completely about how tiresome all this driving is, all the issues inherently connected to this lifestyle, how Sam needs to stop every 2 hours otherwise his gigantic legs start aching (this is just my hc but I know it in my bones that's true) ... I'd love it hahaha!

4x20 The Rapture
Making a separate post because I need to gush over Misha
Holy shit, his voice is do different! I mean I felt it so strongly, when Jimmy started speaking
Jimmy is cute, isn't he?
I am sure if I should be happy prime doesn't let me take screenshots or not, Its good otherwise I probably would have filled my gallery with screenshots from 4x16 and this episode but as the same time, I really want some of those frames
Why do people write Dean to a light sleeper? I mean Sam sneaking out I get, he is a hunter, but Jimmy too?
Is it compulsory to lick or suck demon blood? Does drinking it directly not work?
Misha Collins is ethereal
Yes Jimmy put your hand in boiling water cause a voice on radio told you to; what I am curious about is, why did Cas do it?
Did he have a bet with someone? Is it standard angel protocol? Was he just having some fun? (Unlikely but 🤷♀️)
Here's a think about faith, it's strong and powerful and dangerous. Sometimes it's the only thing that keeps me floting. One should be very careful what they believe in.
What the hell is wrong with Sam?
They put that man in a trenchcoat for 12 years, it should be considered the biggest SPN crime. He's just soo fine
There are people much more talented than me, in both writing and acting, who have praised Misha for the episode and there is nothing more I can write
But the difference Cas and Jimmy, they way they carry themselves, it's just soo
Jimmy has soft edges, he is in ease with his body while Cas is a hardened soldier who is not completely sure what to do with his vessel
Castiel never tricked Jimmy, he didn't manipulate him with lies, Cas beloved everything he told Jimmy, he had faith just as strong as the man. And they both lost it, Cas went through a crisis of faith of identity too
Shit, they locked Sam in the panic room
