Ordnance Survey - Turas - music in the orbit of the Ghost Box/Clay Pipe binary sun, incorporating field recordings from ancient burial sites in Ireland

Turas (Journey) is the most ambitious Ordnance Survey record to date. The field recordings used on Turas were captured with both analog and digital devices at passage and wedge tombs across Meath, West Cork, Wicklow, Connemara and Roscommon. To make use of the tombs' acoustics, elements like percussion were recorded in the tombs and through the process of re-amplification (playing pre-recorded material back in the tombs), this 3000 year old reverberation became a major part of the sound world that the listener experience. Turas is an electronically mediated journey that allows these historical sites to become an important collaborative factor in the creative process. Guest collaborators include Roger Doyle (Piano), Garreth Quinn Redmond (Violin), and Billy Mag Fhloinn (Yaybahar.) Recorded and Produced by Neil O'Connor between May 2021 and July 2022 at the National Concert Hall Studios, Ballferriter, Co.Kerry, Willem Twee Studios, Den Bosch, Holland and at historical sites around Ireland. Every life is unique to their own, however, all beings have something in common that cannot be altered: death. Each life must pass, and each contentment must melt to the hands of the reaper. It's only science, yet such a grim aspect of it.

For a man such of high prestige as Ratio, one could not think he was for love in the first place. Pursuing the curing of universal flaw— ignorance— he strives to achieve his appearing raison d'être regardless. Recording from as long as from high school, the doctor exceeded all low bars that society expected averages of, staggering results imprinted on every letter and grade file.

The concept of him picking out a mere breathing soul to place his affection on is a foreign concept to all those that know of him. More so, is publicly supporting their partner's catering necessary needs and in moments which they needed him; with the humorous-intended excuse that by helping them, Ratio has rid a scintilla more of ignorance.

With time coming, he too understood human psychology and its involuntary reactions by the help of his partner. Like two pieces in a perfect puzzle, leaving no room for other exceptions. However, despite the thick chilling borders that lined his passionate heart, he never caved in deeper, afraid of the consequences.

But, he subconsciously did.

Hand-holding, cherished moments together, learning and exploring. Memoirs accompanied their partner's room, with softer and unfitting items for a man such as him in his own. No matter how contradictive they were to himself, he saw himself walking back to those same arms, wishing to see that same smile and hoping to educate them further than just innovation, problem-solving, critical thinking and philosophies.

After the passing of his dear partner, Veritas could not help but be reduced back to his self, bitter no less but more. The day he found the news of them found lifeless on a sterile bed, with doctors apologising for their "failure" at saving them, he had to restrain the uncharacteristic gloom that filled his veins. Something he had not felt after that one letter from the Interastral Peace Corporation.

Nowadays, he finds himself to be less passionate than what he once was before, projects and researches and points, all reminding him of the person he halved his life and mind to. The hands of time waited for no one, that was the rule of the universe. Simple as that. But, why does someone like him jolt his grievance into late nights? Why does his heart feel like the weight of their entire form, crushed into a messy, paper ball? He could not pinpoint the answer, there was no logical statement. Or perhaps that's what he forced himself to think.

Only if they were here, they could provide the solution to his problem.

Big Lore Dump be upon ye. Nothing necessarily in-game related but a bunch of stuff that probably won't get its own post.

The von Valancius ancestor that eventually led to Casimira was from a ne'er-do-well bastard line of the family from Scintilla centuries back. This forgotten von Valancius eventually got in trouble with the law, but like many a bastard noble too valuable to kill outright, he was given a gun and some provisions, dropped onto Iocanthos with others of his ilk and abandoned. He married a local and had a few kids before eventually growing restless and trying to amass his own warband. Unfortunately, he lacked the combat and leadership abilities his family and descendants would be known for, and thus he met a grisly end after a good 20 years on the planet. His passing went barely remarked upon and his presence likely would have been erased outright if not for the Sisters of the Orders Famulous at the Abbey of the Dawn keeping a record of it.

Cas' native language is Ashleen/Iocanthan High Gothic, an archaic dialect that isn't spoken off-world but is moderately intelligible with its modern counterpart due to the influences of Imperial settlement. She eventually learns standard High Gothic on its own but she does have fun using her own dialect when talking shit because while someone who knows standard High Gothic may get a vague gist of what she's saying to everyone else it sounds fancy enough that they probably won't catch on so long as her tone doesn't shift.

Vhaebos VI is probably the favorite of Cas' domain planets, despite (or because of) how miserable it is. She has a large manor on the planet and is a regular patron of the arenas. She takes more "rest stops" on Vhaebos VI than on Dargonus or Janus in part because as a positive side-effect of the hostile social and physical environment, many of her most annoying nobles and hangers-on think twice about following her there for any extended period of time.

As she gets more settled in as Rogue Trader Cas does develop a taste for luxury, even though she doesn't ever fully adopt the more cumbersome Imperial styles. She has a large collection of furs and jewelry and at least one of her fancier court gowns is made of color-shifting Vaporian silk. This mantua is probably the closest to what she casually wears on Dargonus, fancy but not too structured.

Hardly anyone has actually seen them in full, but Cas does have tattoos going up her arms and extending back to her shoulder blades. While they are mostly clan/culture related with a few religious motifs thrown in, there's a thin line between God-Emperor-honoring folk tattoos and "this seems Khorne-y" so she keeps her arms covered just to avoid the hassle.

Cas is not very good at showing certain negative emotions (fear, pain, anxiety, etc.) or having to rely on others when she's physically vulnerable. She doesn't necessarily judge other people for having those emotions but as the Leader™ she feels as though it's bad for her to show them so she prefers to ignore or deflect from those feelings when they occur (ie, "the officers don't get to know about my kidnapping, shut up and throw me a party"). The exception to this being if the other person she's talking to is going through the same thing, then the walls can come down a little, like during Heinrix's moment in Commorragh. Beyond that, any attempt to intimidate or be protective of her automatically puts her in fight mode. (Abelard has found a semi-reliable way around this through the art of harrumphing but even then she has a good chance of ignoring him.)

She's very family oriented. The Ashleen are a clan-based people and even beyond the four siblings she grew up with, the idea that wherever she went there was a good chance of being in some proximity to at least one or two distant kin was just her reality. And so going off-world for centuries-removed relatives she's never heard of, only to then have two of those relatives die and the other go off to be evil was deeply unsettling and isolating. Getting cut off from the Imperium, and thus her homeworld later did not help with those feelings in the least, even if it was ultimately for the best.

The above reason is also one of the many as to why the Werserians are Cas' favorite nobles. She and Abelard don't agree on a lot but his family is always reliable and not prone to internal squabbling.

Bonus YM-specific HCs, (for @poetikat lol 💕)

YM is publicly known to be a mutant (by accident of Her Ladyship's warp travel late in her pregnancy, a side-effect of his home planet's environment, or a sign of the God-Emperor's disfavor for his mother's close association with Xenos, depending on who you ask). He can almost be compared to a voidborn with his height and thinness, if not for his coloring being so unnervingly vibrant. And like the voidborn, among people newly introduced/not frequently in contact with him, he's almost universally considered to be somewhat unpleasant to encounter. It wasn't as noticeable when he was an infant/small child and even as an adult there's nothing obviously wrong about him per se but his general person is just....uncanny.

Despite her past flagrant impiety, perhaps in a fit of conscience (or pressing from her Seneschal) Cas had nearly every sanctification, public ceremony, and convention followed to a T before and after her son's arrival. All of this was done on Dargonus, except for his actual birth, which took place in the privacy of Vhaebos VI. The first few months of YM's life were spent there before his official presentation to the court at the capitol, to the dismay and suspicion of the type of nobles and church men who cared about that kind of thing.

Even though Astartia's death does complicate her relationship with the Werserians quite a bit, Cas arranges for some of the younger Werserians to be raised alongside her son in lieu of siblings of his own. She does this in the hopes that he will have some actual close connections to rely on when he eventually takes over the dynasty and these Werserians in turn all receive prestigious positions when they come of age, whether they end up serving on the flagship or not.

YM was an incorrigible child, an absolute terror at the palace from infancy. This slowly got better with age but with the exception of close friends he still maintains a certain capricious meanness and an overall carelessness with other people's well-being that, while probably in-line with most noble scions, has been known to go far enough (with people of status) to be a frequent cause for concern.

Like his mother, he is a frequent patron of Vhaebos VI's arenas and rewards his favorite gladiators handsomely. It's been said that he himself fights in the arena incognito, which he did as an adolescent once or twice due to a dare from friends, but not nearly as often as the rumors say.

Also like Cas, he speaks Ashleen, although not her level of fluency and as an adult acquires some of the same tattoos she has, particularly the clan-specific ones. He also has a few deed-related tattoos similar to those of Cas' sister Eisha, by his choice and as a consequence of his own adventures.

He's also mostly fluent in Aeldari (Drukhari dialect) and conversational in the Asuryani dialect. Neither group particularly likes this. But he is in semi-frequent contact with both factions of Aeldari due to the state of the Protectorate so the skill is useful.

He is a swordsman! Which he's quite good at, although he does have some nasty scars from a few close-calls. There's one vicious one on his left arm that he's especially proud of, from where a Khymera nearly split his upper arm in half diagonally.

His first important "Rogue Trader" journey on the Charybdis happened when he was a teenager, and it's rumored something terrible occurred on board during that time even though nobody actually speaks of what it was. He doesn't return as a regular member of the crew until his thirties.

In the interim decade or so between the Incident and when he started assuming a more hands-on role as heir, he just...disappeared from public life and was unable to be easily contacted. Allegedly he went off to go see the Expanse on his own, but curiously not on a von Valancius ship. Cas never made much of a fuss about it despite only a few blips of contact and various rumored sightings over the years. Eventually he returned, scarred and triumphant, and was welcomed back as though he never left.

So... I wanted to take a moment to go on a tiny (it's not tiny, as always) tangent in regards to one of three states/phases Ethereals can enter - namely, the "fading state" and the ability to fade!

Not only is it a fun little thing Ethereals can do, but I feel the finer details of how it works, cause and effect, etc. may prove interesting to talk about too. 🥴🙏 (To "fade"/"fading out" is when Ethereals go all spooky ghost mode.) 👻

Because this tangent is in fact not as tiny as I say it is, I've dropped it below the cut. Sparing your timelines/dashes again and letting you decide if you'd like to have a little look-see. 💙

Fading

When an Ethereal enters the "fading state," their form essentially vaporizes on a microscopic level, their atoms and particles disperse and energy is released in the process. This allows for them to seemingly fade out of existence, yet still be present. While they may not be seen after fading out, the act of fading in and out makes for a nice little light show, given the release (fading out) and metabolization (fading in) of energy in the process. Sometimes, scintillae (light particles) may remain in the area, telling on an Ethereal who may have recently faded in or out. These may be visible to the naked eye. In classic paranormal fashion, this "after effect" may also exhibit light orbs that often tell on a lot of phantasms that can only be seen on certain electronic devices.

Particle Loss

Moving through corporeal objects (such as walls and whatnot) is possible, but this comes with some risk of particle loss. However, in general, particle loss will always accompany fading. This is to say that: the longer an Ethereal goes "ghost mode," they'll slowly lose particles and energy over time - reducing corporeality. Heck, in doing this long enough, they can "lose themselves" - lose too many particles and dare I say take literal psychic damage and physical damage that may take some time to recover from! Weaker and/or less complex Ethereals may even simply disperse entirely - like cosmic dust to the wind - which is the closest equivalent to death Ethereals have.

Recovery

Though it comes with a downside, Ethereals can always recover from particle loss. Always. Even in cases of "death," the possibility is always there. (Spoiler alert: There are Ethereals - in particular, I know of one by name, and it's not a Sal one - who even make an effort to, sadly, "die" as well as "stay dead" - wishing for death, for one reason or another - but they lose their minds and forget this... eventually, they may or may not manage to regrow and materialize by pure mindless, instinctive chance - only to eventually regain their dominant identity/memories as well and this tragic cycle repeats itself...! I hope to tell the particular one's story one day, in some effective manner. Haha! And yes, it is very reminiscent of soulful/spiritual stuff present in Final Fantasy - only instead of denying death via the power of determination, they can come back by the power of good ol' RNG.)

Ethereals can recover from this loss through simple rest and regrowth, but the process can be expedited through the intake of energy. In this instance, think of them as... weird alien ghost plants... that need sunshine. And/or fire and electricity. Light. Ions. Energy. If it produces energy, they may attempt to soak it up during rest, eventually metabolizing it and turning it into their own, much needed weird alien ghost chlorophyll. ☀️🪴

Now, despite the risks, for characters like Sal, this can be a perk! A very volatile perk, but a perk nonetheless as she likes to keep her "battery" low ("low battery" is for the sake of avoiding being radioactive if too much energy is taken in; it is done for the safety of others and going undetected by the more common forms of tech and intelligence that may get a read on her otherwise - she has a record. It's not the musical kind.) So, she does this not only to remain elusive (and to be a silly little spook, sometimes) but to disperse energy in a more minimal fashion, if her energy "disposal" options are limited.

Has she ever taken it too far? Yes. It's easy to do, in fact, given the "low battery!" This can lead to curious little situations where you may see her hiding parts of her that have endured too much particle loss and are rendered effectively incorporeal (and look the part) and "unusable;" perhaps her dominant hand may be "ghostly," and she may take to the use of her non-dominant hand for things like doors and utensils. Seeing her perched in front of a fireplace, soaking up some sun rays and other forms of unsuspecting R&R can actually be her low-key trying to recover from particle loss.

Additional Notes

So... technically, this ability should not affect clothing or other materials on the Ethereal person that may prove "conductive" to the act... yet, here we are, most depictions of the fading state also rendering clothing "invisible" with the character. How that works is something I'm still brainstorming! I have theories about conductivity also playing a roll in fading and explaining that, but... heh. It still needs a lot of work! For now, it's one of those things where it's been decided "this is the thing that happens. You can figure out why later."

The radiant state is another topic of a similar conundrum, though I do decide to stick to accuracy with that one. In that case, Radiance is often far too hot for anything to withstand it and clothes naturally burn off (which is why Ethereals are depicted as being nude in the radiant state.) All of that being said, though...

Deciding to settle with the more accurate here and the less accurate (perhaps. Until I can find a way to explain it well enough, anyway!) for the fading state is where things start to get funky...

Ultimately, this dilemma has led me to just play it by ear, for now. The less accurate fading state will be the default until further notice. I'll be sure to let y'all know if that ever changes, though. I'm also open to input for individual stories and RP! The fun of working with a wide range of worlds and settings is they can have their own "universal laws," where things may work differently than in others as it is.~

Super Hits of the 50's 1987 Doo Wop / Pop-Rock / Rock & Roll

Folks, I think I've had a small change of heart when it comes to these bad and cheap compilations that are comprised of re-recorded hits. I mean, I still hate them very much, but rather than tapping the sign ad nauseam to point out how terrible they all are, I figured that in order to not sound like a broken record every time, I should try to have some fun and pin down which of these songs are the absolute worst of them; most re-recordings are naturally bad, as they tend to capture the original act way past their prime, and also employ a production value that's noticeably much lower than the original too, but some are *way* worse than others, and deserve to be singled out for it.

However, when I decided to apply this new approach to this particular short slate of 50s hits, the decision of which song to crown as the most awful one was actually proving to be somewhat difficult. Everything was pretty blasé, but nothing stood out as being especially bad.

But then, about midway through, lightning had clearly struck. And so, I'm proud to present to you all the unequivocal champion for worst re-recorded song on this album, by far: "Sorry (I Ran All the Way Home)," by The Impalas.

There really is no excuse for recording and then releasing a song that sounds this janky, hollow, and mailed in. This version is just so embarrassing and entirely devoid of any kind of soul. I mean, I get that you wanna make a few bucks off your old hit and that this is a way to do it, but please, I'm begging you, show at least a scintilla of dignity when you try it. I'm not even asking you to be good; just, please, don't be this bad. It really is such a low bar to clear.

And listen to the original version of this hit that well-deservedly went to #2 on the Hot 100 all the way back in 1959 for comparison. It has *so* much more life to it! A really terrific and infectious slice of doo wop-rock for its time! It’s a shame it got so defiled some years later.

But this re-recorded version? It has none of that same gravitas. It's actually negatively charismatic, as it manages to take an act of cynical apathy to its sonic conclusion, and ultimately proves that silence is far preferable.

But for being so low-effort to such an extreme degree, this song is still very much deserving of some recognition. So, congrats, "Sorry (I Ran All the Way Home)," by the Impalas, your piss-poor excuse for a re-recording—a song format that's already understood to be a complete unwanted nuisance—wins the grand prize of making it into the annals of this insane music blog for being one of the absolute worsts of the worst. You should feel so honored! 🎉🎉🎉

Hanno venti anni quando innamorati dello ska e del suono di Paul Weller con i Jam, formano i Blur: iniziano con un suono baggy, un mix di indie-dance che in quel periodo portava al successo gli Happy Mondays o gli Stone Roses, uno dei gruppi nume tutelare di tutto il brit pop. She’s So High e soprattutto There’s No Other Way, con il gruppo allargato a  Alex James (basso) e Dave Rowntree (batteria), sono singoli che raggiungono la Top Ten dei singoli, e lanciano il primo disco, Leisure (1991). Nel 1992 pubblicano un singolo, Popscene, che sebbene sia un mezzo fallimento di vendita, viene considerato da molti la nascita del movimento brit pop, con l’intenzione della band di lasciare il baggy e avviare una sorta di revival del suono del mod sound degli anni ‘60, su ritmi punk e melodie che si rifanno a grandi gruppi come i Kinks o addirittura i The Who. Il balzo effettivo avviene prima con Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993) e poi con il successo di Park Life (1994), il loro primo grande disco, un disco che celebra l’inglesità con particolare affetto per quella cockney londinese. Inizia il momento magico, con vendite di milioni di copie e una popolarità in ascesa incredibile. Che era allo stesso livello, nel 1994 per gli Oasis: i fratelli Gallagher sono nati a Burnage, un sobborgo di Manchester,  da una famiglia cattolica irlandese. Noel riceve una chitarra a 11 anni e inizia a strimpellare, si appassiona al punk e a 18 anni lavora con gli Inspiral Carpets come tuttofare. In un concerto a Manchester, porta il fratello Liam a sentire gli Stone Roses (sempre loro), e Liam è come folgorato. La band che prima si chiamava Rain composta dagli amici di infanzia Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, Tony McCarroll e Paul “Guigs” McGuigan, cambiano nome in Oasis. La loro ascesa è più tumultuosa, costellata da liti tra i fratelli (più volte si presero a maleparole e pugni sul palco), a comportamenti in pieno cliché rockstar (stanze sfasciate, comportamenti sopra le righe) e una musica che nei singoli Supersonic, Shakermaker e Live Forever è più classica e struggente, fino a quando nel 1994 Definitely Maybe, il loro primo album, li impone come quelli che riescono a trovare il compromesso più bello tra le melodie degli anni ‘60 e un fragoroso muro elettrico chitarristico. I fratelli Gallagher non eccellono per simpatia, e sparano dichiarazioni al vetriolo un po’ su chiunque, in una di questa Noel augura a Damon Albarn di prendere una malattia venerea. Fu la scintilla che scatenò la rivalità (mediatica). E il ring migliore fu l’uscita nel 1995 di due dischi, attesissimi: in ordine cronologico a settembre The Great Escape dei Blur e meno di un mese più tardi (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? degli Oasis. Dico subito che sebbene il primo round con i singoli, Country House dei primi vs. Roll With It dei secondi, vide il netto successo del primo, la sfida generale se l’aggiudicano gli Oasis, che con questo album venderanno decine di milioni di copie, anche negli Stati Uniti, dove i Blur non sfonderanno mai, battendo numerosi record. Musicalmente, i due dischi sono diversissimi: molto più classico Morning Glory, più vario e intrigante The Great Escape. Ma quello degli Oasis ha quasi tutte grandi canzoni, da Wonderwall a Cast No Shadow (dedicata ad un altro immenso personaggio di quel periodo, Richard Ashcroft), da Don’t Look Back In Anger a Champagne Supernova, canzoni che ancora oggi hanno un felice e diffuso airplay radiofonico: in loro si sublimano al meglio le influenze del passato (She’s Electric, l’intro di piano di Don’t Look Back In Anger, esempi paradigmatici) ad un linguaggio semplice e diretto, che piacque molto ai discografici, come dimostra una singolare dichiarazione di Alan McGee, il proprietario della Creation, la loro etichetta discografica: ”Non puoi buttare questo album. Parlerà ai giovani della classe operaia in un modo che i Suede o i Radiohead si sognano”. Si impongono lo stile di Noel alla chitarra e persino il modo di cantare di Liam, che non è un cantante così espansivo, ma che segnerà un’epoca. Il disco è un capolavoro di energia e di grandissime canzoni, e lascia all’altro la sperimentazione. The Great Escape è molto diverso: è quasi un concept sui dissidi di un ragazzo di quel periodo, e ci sono indizi qua e là, uno davvero grande nel titolo di una canzone, Dan Abnormal, che sia proprio Albarn in questione (il titolo è un anagramma del suo nome e cognome). Il disco è musicalmente molto più vario, ed è venato di ironia e amaro sarcasmo; anche i Blur sanno scrivere grandi canzoni (The Universal, che ha archi alla Bacharach e il cui videoclip ispirato ad Arancia Meccanica vinse decine di premi nel mondo), Chairmless Man, Entertain Me, Country House sono le punte di un disco che spazia dal punk (Globe Alone), al pop (Stereotypes), all’indie rock (It Could Be You), la canzone crooner (Ernold Same), con Albarn che si dimostra cantante estremamente versatile e Coxon divertente creatore di melodie. In definitiva, anche a distanza di anni, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory (il cui titolo fu scelto da Noel quando la sua amica Melissa Lim gli rispose al telefono con tale frase, che a sua volta proviene dal musical Bye Bye Birdie) è molto più diretto e focalizzato, The Great Escape più sperimentale negli stili, nelle strutture musicali e probabilmente più “sofisticato” nell’ascolto. Curiosamente, due anni dopo, nel 1997, i Blur pubblicano Blur, gli Oasis Be Here Now. Il secondo, attesissimo, vende ancora milioni di copie, ma sebbene bello è una copia del precedente. Albarn e soci invece prendono l’ennesima nuova strada, registrando addirittura a Reykjavík, e basta la potenza di Song 2 per capire che razza di cambiamento è stato: un cambio di rotta che li discosta ormai dal britpop per un percorso sperimentale che Albarn continuerà per decenni fino ai giorni nostri.

Storia dell’artista

Se l’oroscopo del 2022 dava al capricorno grandi soddisfazioni, il 2024 dovrebbe rilanciare lasciandosi alle spalle un 2023 un pò gnif. In effetti, per Daniele Faraotti, capricorno classe 1961, tutto comincia nel 2008 con la pubblicazione di “Ciò che non sei
più” (Alka Record 2008). Non che prima non ci fosse stato niente, le attività svolte precedentemente potevano tranquillamente rientrare nell’ambito della formazione. Formazione lunga quella del Faraotti; tante le canzoni scritte, prima della prima canzone riconoscibile come tale - un percorso piuttosto accidentato. Si è trattato di recuperare quella scintilla che sembrava persa, tra esami in conservatorio, titoli di studio e domande di ammissione. Tra le cose mediamente grosse di questi anni di formazione, sicuramente va ricordata la collaborazione con Patty Pravo (Roxy Bar, MTV 1994) e la partecipazione come chitarrista ad un paio di canzoni nell’album di Claudio Lolli “La scoperta dell’America”.

Anche la direzione artistica della rassegna U. S. W. (Und so Writer) a San Lazzaro di Savena (Bo) è tra le cose da ricordare. Le edizioni del 2008 e del 2009 (le uniche) hanno visto molta musica indipendente esibirsi sul palco dell’ITC. Nel 2009 esce “Ciò che non sai più” (Alka Record 2009), Ep con quattro canzoni e un video. Le canzoni erano state registrate nelle session dell’album precedente, album che con questo gioca molto con il titolo. Come esordio non è male, ottimamente accolto dalla critica e poi tanti i concerti in giro per l’Italia, il più importante a Scisciano (Na) di spalla ai Massimo Volume. Poi è la volta “Canzoni in Salita” (Bombanella Records 2012). Le recensioni fioccano copiose e i concerti diminuiscono un po’, le mail scritte ai locali cominciano a non avere risposta e il pubblico è già stanco di cimentarsi con proposte non supportate da agenzie, etichette di grido e pubblicità. Circa due anni di lavoro per completare “In Cage’s shoes”, una composizione strumentale di 21 minuti omaggio a John Cage. Viene pubblicata in “Exit from the Cage” del 2014.

Quattro anni di silenzio portano ad “English Aphasia”. Pubblicato in digitale nell’aprile del 2019, vede l’edizione in vinile del 2020 rilanciare l’Inglese Afasico che, tra buone recensioni e complimenti, ripagherà il Faraotti di un periodo non proprio roseo sotto molti punti di vista. Nell’estate del 2019 inizia la stesura delle canzoni che andranno a far parte di “Phara Pop vol. 1”.

Durante il lockdown del 2020 la stesura dei testi, la messa a punto degli arrangiamenti e tante nuove canzoni. Su “Phara Pop” finiscono 20 canzoni scritte tra il luglio 2019 e giugno 2020. Il singolo “RadioMagia”, viene pubblicato a gennaio 2022 insieme al video eponimo. In coda al 2023, e per la precisione in dicembre, arriva la pubblicazione di due nuovi singoli. La stesura dei testi del nuovo album è a buon punto e non si esclude l’uscita entro maggio 2024. E i concerti? Chissà, forse…

È perentoria la regina di Giordania Rania che, in un'intervista alla Cnn, accusa Israele di apartheid e denuncia come «la gente di tutto il Medio Oriente, compresa la Giordania, è scioccata e delusa dalla reazione del mondo occidentale» alla guerra in corso fra Hamas e Israele. «Il 7 ottobre il mondo si è immediatamente e inequivocabilmente schierato al fianco di Israele, del suo diritto di difendersi e ha condannato l'attacco.

Ma nelle ultime due settimane stiamo assistendo al suo silenzio» accusa la regina di Giordania. «Ci state dicendo che è sbagliato uccidere un'intera famiglia sotto la minaccia di una pistola, ma che va bene bombardarla a morte? Perché non c'è la stessa condanna per quanto sta accadendo ora?».

Di discendenza palestinese, Rania insieme al marito, il re Abdullah II, governa un Paese che secondo le Nazioni Unite ospita il 40% del totale dei rifugiati palestinesi registrati in Medio Oriente, per un totale di circa 2 milioni di persone e 10 campi profughi.
