Shipps in fandom tend to have a person, yk, that internet usser that opens people's eyes and teaches them about a rarepair like its a master class. For me, you are that person. 💗💗 You've done a lot for the shikaneji community, I don't know a single person that ships them and doesn't know about you! You kinda inspired me to learn english years ago because I'd just straight up translate everything with the google translator extension 😂 It's been years since then, and now I read the btb series comfortably in its native language. And there's where I have to ask you something: To celebrate the new HHU's chapter, I'm rereading the whole BtB series. I'm currently in Requiem, but something it's been in my head making noise enough for me to come here and ask you! In Break to Breath, chapter 28, I think they're in Hanegakure and the boys did what hot traumatized boys do... However they're woken up next morning and it is said that Sikamaru tied up his hair with Neji's tie, what Neji did with his hair wasn't mentioned so I always thought that they used each other's ties from then on... Until the very end. Because during the war, Neji isn't using a hairtie, maybe he didn't want to lose it and he save it along Shikamaru's note.

It's never explicitly stated that they got their hairties back, so my favorite headcanon (having people creating headcanons over your fanfic? ur the GOAT) about BtB has allways been that Shikamaru didn't give Neji his hair tie back, and viceversa.

Like when you have a partner in real life and, well, you cannot make a public statement about being together o maybe you cannot see them everyday, so (if you have long hair) you give them your hair tie for them to use in their wrist or properly in their head.

To summarize, what are your thoughts on this? 👀

I can confidently say, it's a yes. Insofar as Neji allowing Shikamaru to keep his tie when Shikamaru's goes pinging off into the bowels of whatever place they're ravaging each other in...although, I won't lie and say there aren't a few instances where one or the other fight over the last hair tie...

Of course, said fight for the almighty hair tie is always instigated by Shikamaru absolutely refusing to be caught with his hair down, whereas Neji doesn't particularly care, unless he needs it tied back for practical reasons, in which case...may the best genius win. Good luck. 😂

#2. A compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom.

See here’s the thing. I have four favorites and they’re two couples and I’m currently working on a fic where they swing… all that to say I’ve convinced myself that all four of them *could* do either, though they have preferences.

Anyway, here’s all four. Genuinely interested in responses to this post btw. Keeping in mind that top/bottom and dom/sub are not equivalent…

We all know Shikamaru gets pegged, but the prep and cleanup is a hassle. If Temari (or whoever) is willing to do all the work, I think Shikamaru is happy to be a pillow princess. Otherwise, he’d rather top.

I think Neji genuinely enjoys bottoming but needs to really trust whoever he’s with before that conversation is even on the table. That said, he’s got a few kinks that really lend themselves toward bottoming, so the conversation can’t be held off forever.

The complete inverse of Shikamaru but for the exact same reasons, Tenten would rather bottom unless she’s in a real particular mood. Like she’ll top if she’s asked, but she still wants to get hers when all is said and done.

I truly don’t think top/bottom mechanics matter as much to Temari as dom/sub roles do. Where she winds up depends on the mood she’s in, you know? Most of the time she’ll call the shots regardless.

Aw I love these. InoSaku and GaaLee are probably my favorites (and KakaGai, but they're totally canon in my heart <3)

Figured out why I hit a wall on one of my more ambitious fanfic ideas: while I knew what's going on now I forgot to account that the characters have 10+ years of knowing each other in this AU before the plot begins.

So I'm now poking at my AU to explore some background ideas and details. If you guys wanna ask me anything about it (couple details, funny incident you think any of these characters may've had, what the rules of the parties are, etc), my ask box is open.

Harbor Having Fun:

The annual Christmas Party is a tradition. Everyone is invited, but since college it's been harder to get everyone together and this year is no different. Secrets can't stay hidden forever and sometimes you have to face your fears. But the holidays are also a great time to connect with old friends, meet new people, and hide from your overbearing parents and other extended family. Also known as: People give Gaara and Ino way less credit for maturity than they deserve. They also give Shikamaru and Temari way more credit than deserved. The following individuals are hiding secrets: Neji, Shino, Karin, Hana, and Tenten. Fake dating isn't that fake when everyone but you insists that you're dating a friend. But it is when you bribe another friend. And remember, friends don't let friends host single.

The couples in chapter one are: NaruHina, ChoKarui, ShikaTema, ShinoKarin, KankTen, SaiSamui, NejiHana, and (allegedly) KibaShiho.

I'm also working on working on the rules, and backstory for the rules, of the Christmas party. Along with determining which rules will be added from this year's chaos.

POV Characters: Konoha 12, Karin, Suigetsu, Samui, Matsuri, Sand Siblings, Hanabi, Itachi, and Shisui

There also a bunch of non-pov characters, rule of thumb is that if a pov knows them in canon they know them in this modern-au.

If,in the Chunin Exams,you could see a fanon fight which one would u pick?(Sasuke vs Neji,Naruto vs Gaara,Kiba vs TenTen etc.)

I would have really liked to see Sasuke vs Neji! They're both so serious and tragic with similar roles in their team, definitely had a major opportunity to become rivals.

Shikamaru vs Gaara (taking out the fact that shikamaru would immediately forfeit which is the smart thing) or Shino vs Gaara I think would be cool OR Ino vs Gaara bc Gaara stays in one place a lot and lets his sand do all the work which would give her a good opportunity to do the mind transfer if she manages to dodge his sand (after which he definitely would have killed her bc Shukaku but yeah)

I would also match up Tenten vs Hinata bc they both have a connection thru Neji. I think it would be a nice match up bc Tenten has experience against a Hyuga (who is stronger than Hinata so 1010 would actually have a chance) and Hinata would have to work on getting closer to Tenten to do any damage which would be hard. It could go either way I think.

Another one which I thought about alot would be Rock Lee vs Sakura ***IF Sakura was actually trained in genjutsu bc she's a GENJUTSU TYPE LIKE WHAT KAKASHI SAID. Why did the writers say that and not let Sakura actually utilize genjutsu outside of just being talented at dispersing it.

Anyways, yes if Sakura attained a profiency in genjutsu I think it would be a really interesting fight because it would be a taijutsu vs genjutsu kinda fight.

Obviously, Lee wouldn't go all out but I don't think he would draw out the fight just bc he likes Sakura (I think he would consider it disrespectful) so he would try to end the match swiftly but respectfully? Since genjutsu is less flashy to others I think it would be less known if someone was proficient in it, so Sakura has some wiggle room to trap him in a genjutsu which he would fall prey to.

I think it would be a really sad fight for Lee if he were to lose to a genjutsu user who he would have beat hands down in taijutsu, because thats something he can't control and would have to rely on a teammate (like Neji) to dispel it for him. This fight would also motivate Sakura more to work on her taijutsu bc Lee would totally wipe the floor with her if he didn't give her a little leeway (ha) bc they're friends and she wasn't proficient in genjutsu.

Anyways, w/out any genjutsu ability Lee would win immediately and Sakura would be motivated either way. But I would like this fight anyways bc they're friends and it would be emotional.

Other matches I would like to see but don't feel like explaining are: Naruto vs Temari, Shino vs Hinata, Choji vs Sakura, Sasuke vs Shikamaru, Kankuro vs Neji, and Kiba vs Ino

His cheeks would probably be flushed and he’d push you against a wall and crowd you in before he decides to show you how he isn’t a drag after all 😏

Neji is a little harder for me (no pun intended but like 😏). I think he’d snap if you complimented Hinata’s jutsu one too many times. Say how impressive she is and catch him in a bad mood and you’ll be seeing his face redden and his veins become prominent on his face (but from frustration, not his jutsu!). I think it would b very funny to give him a lil smeck on the mouth when he is going off like that ehehehe

He won't bring it up but he very obviously sulks about it. Thing is, he doesn't want his alpha sleeping next to a beta or an alpha either, so he has to get over it XD

Team slightly bothered and will bring it up:

Iruka - He brings it up because he wants more information. What size of tent is it, what things will you be doing, is it only you and the other omega in the tent together etc. He's not concerned about you cheating on him, but he wants to know what's going on so you both agree on boundaries.

Gaara - It makes him feel weird when you bring it up and he doesn't know why or what's happening, so this cutie asks his alpha about the feelings 🥺 They talk it through and Gaara feels much better afterwards.

Team very bothered and will bring it up:

Neji - 'I don't want you sharing a tent alone with another omega for a week, it isn't appropriate. Why don't I buy you a couple of bigger tents so that all the alphas can stay together, and then all the omegas can stay together in another tent? That's a much better plan.'

Kiba - He'd be okay if it was one night... but more than that, he doesn't like it. After a day, your scents will mingle, your clothes will probably be all mixed up, you'll be sleeping in a small space together constantly... No, that's for him to do with you, not someone else. His instincts react like you're letting another omega into your den to make a nest. Makes him feel sick.

Naruto Characters Accidentally Calling their Girlfriend their Wife

Naruto Uzumaki

He’s talking to some new people and enthusiastically pulls you to his side, a large smile on his face, and he says “This is my wife! Y/N!”

You can’t hide your shock, not fully at least. He’s never called you his wife before. I mean, he’s said things like “you’ll be my future wife, right?” As he giggles or something.

But you are in a state of shock that he introduced you that way.

Nonetheless, you’re happy.

If the person makes a comment about how young or cute you two are for a married couple, he’d realize. Likely, he’d respond a little oddly, stuttering, but recovers and just full sends with the claim you’re his wife.

Sasuke Uchiha

If he’s with you, you’re gonna be his wife anyways. He didn’t get with you until he was sure of that, because it took him a long time to realize he felt that way anyways.

So he calls you his wife with full confidence, before realizing his mistake. However, he doesn’t care too much to correct himself or anything.

Because you are gonna marry him right? (He’s actually really nervous to propose, but he won’t admit that.)

People would probably just believe him immediately considering just how serious he is about you to even be with you.

When you confront him about it later, he’ll ask you if that was okay, explain it was a mistake, but he’ll probably comment on how he’s dating to marry anyways so… you might as well be his wife.

You can probably expect a proposal soon.

Shino Aburame

I can’t fully see this happening tbh. However, let’s say that it does.

He’d probably over explain himself to the person he referred of you as his wife too.

Not that he doesn’t want you as his wife, but you haven’t said you’ll be his wife yet. So he can’t call you his wife. That’s how he sees it.

He’ll probably think he messed up and upset you, so you’ll have to explain it was cute.

Once you explain to him, he’ll see your point. Maybe with some reluctance to lighten up on himself.

He’ll be happy you want to be seen as his wife though.

Kiba Inuzuka

Realized his mistake, but he could not be bothered.

He will keep on as if there is no mistake. As if you are legally married.

He’ll be upset if you correct him in front of people.

It’ll turn into a bit of an argument if you correct him in any way other than sweetly.

Because what the big deal???

If you leave it alone, and talk to him later, now he’s nervous and stuttering. But he’ll likely comment on how he knows you want to marry him so you might as well be called his wife.

Shikamaru Nara

Immediately realizing what slipped out his mouth.

Does he really want you to be his wife? Well, of course he does. But that’s a lot for him to accidentally spill out to some strangers you’re both meeting.

They don’t know he made a mistake, because you roll with it.

Later, he’ll try to avoid talking about it, but if you bring it up, he’ll say it was a mistake, don’t take it so seriously.

If you seem down about his underwhelming response, he’ll likely have an actual talk about his future with you to reassure you that he was just being an idiot when he said that.

Choji Akimichi

He forgot you’re not his wife.

I think Choji would just love you so much that he would simply treat you like a wife. To the point he forgets, you’re not his wife.

If you comment on it, he’ll think about it and probably be like ohhhh right.

He’ll apologize, but more than likely you’ll just say it was cute.

I can see him calling you wifey.

But if he’s gonna call you that, he’s gotta get you that ring. He’s planning on it as yall speak.

Neji Hyuga

You two are waiting a while before calling it official. Plans of marriage are far off.

He’s a little too traditional to jump at marriage quickly.

So when he accidentally calls you his wife, it was to Hiashi. He went pale. Paler than usual.

Later, depending on how exactly that went, he’ll probably be in his head.

Let’s assume for this though, that Hiashi approves of you completely.
