Service top Tarn this, service top Tarn that. But what if... not? Spoiler alert! I imagine pre-empurata Damus being an innocent flower and a hopeless romantic and saving himself for his conjunx. Post-empurata "Glitch" being an empuratee and not even considering an option for someone to desire him (and also saving himself for his conjunx, see "hopeless romantic" part). And as Tarn he is just being Tarn, saving himself for Megs. (And I don't think Megs has ever taken him to berth. I think Megs preserves his own bodily autonomy and doesn't want to use his sexuality as a tool to punish or reward his subordinates.)
And the second reason why he doesn't interface, if he ever needed another one, is 'cause he's an addict. The hell he knows what a good fuck will do to him. He'll become horribly attached to a partner. WEAK. Holy shit. But being so hooked on pleasure, he 100% has his array modded with extra sensor nodes. Like, his spike looks more pink than black because of nodes. And they are glowing, lol. So, he's super sensitive and probably gets super wet when revved up. And his sexual starvation is MASSIVE. Shame Megatron would never have him. There will never be a conjunx. Others too afraid of him or repulsed by his personality to try wooing him properly or forcing him. Oh boy, Tarn is gonna die a virgin. Virginity kink? Virginity kink.
Omg yes, of course Tarn would try to perfect himself for his Lord— at least, what he thinks his lord would think is perfect.
His jerk off sessions have to be fucking amazing though with all the mods

Okay another instance of "fuck canon" that's not just Pharma-related, but Ambulon related. I keep thinking of Luna-1 where Ambulon called Pharma "Doctor DJD" and I feel like that's such a total "he would not fucking say that" moment. Obv JRO controls the characterization so what's in the comics is canon/right, I just think that it doesn't make sense for someone in Ambulon's position with his backstory to be that petty towards Pharma?
Ambulon's a Decepticon traitor, he's on the DJD's List. Moreover, he's stationed on Messatine which is the DJD's home planet and is (was?) still an active battle front until very recently.
Proof that Messatine being the DJD's territory is common knowledge: not only First Aid, who's stationed at Delphi, but also at least three Autobots on the Lost Light, know that the DJD make Messatine their home. And this is long before Pharma does his monologue to Ratchet about his t-cog blackmail with Tarn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Proof that Delphi/the nucleon mines were in an active warzone at least until Pharma started his plague: Pharma wouldn't have had any t-cogs to harvest if there wasn't a continuous stream of soldiers/war-dead coming in to use as his supply.
Tumblr media
So then, Ambulon knew fully well that he and all of the rest of them were right next to the DJD's home base, and as an ex-Decepticon he knows he would be on the list. Probably not very high on the list, since Ambulon was a mere MTO who got turned into a failed combiner experiment, but he IS on the list; just because the DJD only proceed through the list in order of importance, doesn't mean that Ambulon wouldn't know that they'd come for him eventually.
And this is a really fucking neat idea to play around with! We don't ever get a canon/explicit explanation for why Prowl decided to station those three medics on Delphi, especially one who's an ex-Con on an execution list. Did Ambulon have a choice? Or was he told to go there with no argument? Either way, I think Ambulon deserves some major kudos, because he must have ball (bearings) of steel to be an ex-Con in DJD territory without constantly being on the verge of a mental breakdown or panic attack. I could honestly write a whole post on the question of "why were these three stationed on Messatine" in itself, but that's for another time.
The point I'm trying to make here is basically that Ambulon of all people should've been sympathetic to the circumstances that drove Pharma to do what he did: they were ALL stationed in the DJD's territory and they knew it, they ALL knew that the DJD's playbook is horrific torturous murder, they ALL knew that Ambulon was a former Decepticon. It wouldn't take a genius for everyone at Delphi to piece together the fact that the DJD would come for Ambulon eventually if either he wasn't evacuated or Delphi as a whole wasn't evacuated. But I mean, this is wartime, right? Every soldier is risking their life, everyone could die at any moment. They can't close down Delphi or evacuate all of the personnel in an active war front battling over a mine just because a medic or three might feel unsafe. Nowhere in war is safe. If High Command let everyone abandon their posts who was afraid of being killed, nothing would ever get done because war comes with inherent risk of death that all soldiers accept by participating, as well as accepting the obligation to follow orders on threat of punishment. (Almost as if Pharma couldn't have just evacuated or run away like Ratchet suggested, but JRO clearly isn't a military expert so I'll digress/chalk it up to "wasn't plot relevant to bring up".)
We got all of like, two pages that showed Pharma and Ambulon's working relationship, and the best we have besides that is JRO's word of god that Pharma and Ambulon had 'mutual reluctant respect' for each other. It's highly unlikely that the two were best buddies regardless, but I don't think you need to be friends with someone like Pharma, while sharing the same situation as him, to be a little more sympathetic to him? Like I get that Ambulon would be offended by the idea of his boss trying to frame him for murder to cover up his own murders, but the "Doctor DJD" line always seemed weirdly callous and petty to me. "Doctor DJD" implies that Pharma was some sort of willing collaborator or servant to the DJD which clearly wasn't the case. And I find it hard to believe that Ambulon, who knows exactly what kind of people the DJD are, would have an opinion of Pharma that was just "oh he should've tried harder/been less of a coward and resisted." Hell, Ambulon's reaction to Sonic and Boom showing up at Delphi asking for refuge was to instantly take pity on them and offer them shelter immediately; if he feels protective/sympathetic towards literal random nobody Decepticon soldiers, shouldn't he have at least as much feeling (if not more) for another Autobot who he worked with and supposedly had respect for?
Assuming that Ambulon got the full details of Pharma's blackmail deal. I mean, there's no reason to assume that Ratchet would've lied to First Aid and Ambulon about what Pharma told him (unless??? conspiracy theory!!!!) , so Ambulon should've heard about the t-cog deal and how it was the only reason the DJD didn't raze Delphi to the ground so long ago. Then again, maybe Pharma's story got explained to him and First Aid via Ratchet's extremely judgemental take on events, so who knows how much of Pharma's side of the story Ambulon would've actually known.
But wouldn't it be so much more interesting if, instead of sneering at Pharma as "Doctor DJD", Ambulon had a more conflicted perspective of Pharma's face-heel turn? Would he wonder how it is that someone who he had such respect for could've been so despicable? Or, more sympathetically, would Ambulon ever wonder if Tarn threatening Delphi was his fault for being there? Would Ambulon wonder what he would've done in Pharma's position, being forced to bargain to postpone his own horrific execution? Would he be angry at Prowl or the higher-ups for stationing them all in such a dangerous post to begin with?
I mean, the answer is that Ambulon was a tertiary cast member at best, to the point that half of his appearances on the Lost Light literally are shown in retrospect after he died, so there would've been no room to explore this in the plot, and Ambulon and Pharma were way lower priority compared to other, more important protagonists. I just think it would be interesting to explore these questions in other metas and fan works.
And yes, I do think Ambulon would not fucking say that ("Doctor DJD") regardless of what canon actually says lmao.

tf idw, Reader/oc & tarn
tarn end up on earth, laying in snow barely contious not understanding anything. And later learning also organic(still has some cybertronian features and his mask) barely give inches talk. How this happened, no clue! Maybe it's divine punishment(that happened after meg's kills him), maybe it was an artifact, maybe a magic curse. He gets found by a human, who knows what Will happen. Maybe they're a musician, doctor, pred, ... Imagine all the joys tarn will have dealings with an organic body, mental breakdowns(over everything) and an organic/human who je is now powerless against.
Oh my god Tarn having to deal with a human body is so funny to me. Having to eat, breathe, take care of his skin and hair, going to the bathroom, he hated all of it. Why were there so many different options of fuel??? He would be PISSED and especially reluctant to interact with any humans.
Though, the one that helped him out of the snow was unusually kind- a curtesy not many have shown him. They took him in (as unwilling as he was) and showed him how to live in a new body.
At first he was disgusted by nearly everything. The softness of furniture, the texture of food, the squishiness of his own skin. (Seriously, his body was incredibly inefficient). But the one who took him in didn’t scoff at him or disregard his new appearance. They didn’t know what he really was, or what he had done, and yet when he told them they didn’t run. They weren’t scared of him. Everybody was scared of him… except them. Even in this new organic body he could kill them, use any weapon to pierce and tear at their feeble flesh. Even after he threatened them, made attempts at their life, destroyed their things, they still tried to make his life as comfortable as possible.
The rest of the DJD would inevitably find him. And when they did they would turn him back. And then they would lay waste to this miserable planet for what it did to him. That was the plan, anyway. But now he felt his spark- heart melt at the sound of their violin. The complicated rhythmic movements of their fingers on the strings played a melody unlike he’s ever heard. He had no power here. But for the first time… he felt like he didn’t need power. He just wanted to sit and listen, to be what his previous life could never afford him.
A person.

MTMTE! Tarn x Femme Reader
Author's Note: I fucking love Tarn bro. This is extremely self-indulgent for me. He's literally so perfect.
Summary: Tarn is not in the mood for your games. (May or may not make this story a series.)
Warnings: spike in valve sex, dub con, hints of non con, implied polygamy, implied reverse harem, voice kink, masochistic reader, size kink, breeding kink, trauma from reader being human converted to cybertronian, Megatron never joins the autobots here, and there's surprisingly some fluff.
"Your frame....your mind....your spark....your entirety. It all belongs to me."
You couldn't disagree whatsoever with what he proclaimed in between forceful thrusts. When he said 'entirety' you could feel your spark flutter, he was playing with it like it was a toy. He knew and cherished the effect his voice receptor's modification had on cybertronian sparks.
Shockingly his voice afflicted you all the same before the transition when you were human too. This transition happened when Shockwave experimented on you and the other 'pets' owned by various Decepticons. It was a sick and twisted fantasy the mech dreamed up and was permitted by Megatron to act upon.
The experiment started with twelve of you and only four remained when the transition successfully concluded. The other eight perished miserably. You were given a new body, a spark, processors, and just about everything else that made you now completely cybertronian. However, you were still a pet at the end of the day.
The only thing that's changed since your transition was your relationship with the DJD, your owners. When you were human they regarded you like an actual pet. Nickel thought you were so adorable, that was the only reason Tarn kept you alive. Those days he would tell you just how much he wanted to splatter you onto the deck plates and turn you into a complicated red stain.
He'd tell you how much he wished you'd try to escape so he could torture and murder you. He loved to mention how he longed for the day he'd get to hear your screams of misery. He'd speak to you with his voice modifier until it felt like you were going to have a heart attack. He was completely and utterly abusive, but you loved it.
After you became fully cybertronian the treatment you received from each DJD member was so different. They were far more interactive with you, to say the least. The looks you received from each member ranged from pity, adoration, and disgust were now more twisted and dark. They looked at you with lust, hunger, and malevolence.
Thankfully you weren't completely naive and knew how to navigate their urges. You played coy and unknowing of their advances meanwhile, you kept a mental note in your processors of everything they did. The sexual tension aboard the Peaceful Tyranny was so thick that it couldn't be cut with a knife.
You were given no weapons, very little armor and no training as a precaution to defend yourself if needed in case one of them tried to force themselves on to you. Their behavior completely reminded you of human men.
Here you were now, however. Pinned down, armor stripped off, and at Tarn's mercy. He had a knack for punishing you like this whenever you did something wrong. You weren't sure how the relationship between the two of you got so sexual, it all happened far too fast.
The way the bright blue orbs of your optics rolled to the back of your helm was something to be marveled at. The harsh clanging noise of his hip struts meeting yours with a steady unwavering pace completely overshadowed the lewd slick noises that your valve made.
Every portion of his spike that he slammed into you only made your hole squirt and dribble lubricant around his length. Your valve quivered like an engine with every intrusion of his thick length His large servo sat firmly around your neck cabling. He wasn't strangling you, surprisingly, but forcing you to look at him while he did this to you.
He had his visor on during this, it always had an emotionless deadpanned expression. A dispassionate visor is what you were staring up at while your valve was stretched and used to its limit. You've been with the mech for so long that you've learned to read his emotions with the visor on.
Every moment that you got glances at the red orbs within his optics you could see the excitement within them. He was enjoying punishing you like this, to him his greatest accomplishment wasn't breaking you but it making you enjoy being broken.
The way his servo held your neck cabling made you feel so...tiny. His servo covered your entire neck cabling and the very upper portion of your chassis. The size ratio between both you and him was startling. You weren't the size of a mini bot like Nickel but you were still much smaller than him and he enjoyed that.
The total dominance he had over you and everything you did was invigorating to him. He had so much dominance over you that on one occasion he interfaced with you right there in front of the other DJD members.
They all watched the expressions on your faceplate while Tarn made you take his spike. They listened to every moan and whine you made gleefully. Two of them decided to stroke their spikes while watching you take him. As much as you hated the embarrassment you felt, you welcomed it.
Nothing compared to this though. Being alone with Tarn in a state of vulnerability like this. With a final thrust, he overloaded his transfluid into you. When the mech would overload he'd bury himself so deep inside you just to make sure every last drop of it got into your carrying chamber.
You have a sparkling prevention device installed but for him, the thought of climaxing inside of you so deep and claiming you like this aroused him. It was like he wanted to sire a sparkling with you in his own twisted fantasy.
He pulled his now half-pressurized spike out of your valve only to thrust it back in. He paid no attention to your anterior node this entire time because this was a punishment, you weren't allowed to overload. Your venting stuttered from how forceful the movement of his intrusion was. He used his free servo to slip off his visor and reveal his damaged face plate.
"Are you going to behave now?"
You nodded your helm and Tarn leaned down and put his much larger faceplate against yours. His dermas lightly brushed over your own in what should have been a gentle kiss. When he didn't give you one you went ahead and lifted your helm to push your dermas into his own for a long awaited kiss.
He didn't kiss you back at first but after a while he parted his dermas and let his large glossa slide into your oral intake. You let it explore around before sucking on it gently. You've never had such an affectionate moment with the mech like this and it was absolutely everything that you'd ever dreamed of.
He's never kissed you nor allowed you to kiss him before. He pulled back from the connection and leaned his helm into your neck cabling by your audio receptors.
"I'm starting to enjoy having you here."

right so a friend of mine gave me a massive idea for a transformers fan continuity, so i'm gonna share it!
the headcanon is plural/system optimus prime for a fan continuity i'm working on. please note that these are just my own headcanons spawned from a friend helping me out with this fan continuity. so be nice!
orion pax emerges from the well of allsparks and is assigned as a dockworker. he is the host, the one on record. the guy everyone knows about. below the murky depths of his conscious mind, a fragment lurks. it doesn't say anything, hell it doesn't even have a name or a face or an identity to call its own but it is there
after many many vorns of work, of rough, punishing work hauling cargo and shipments from the docks of the mithril sea to the majour cities of cybertron, orion is given an upgrade. he is taken in by alpha trion, the head archivist of cybertron, who had found young orion's works on the intranet and captivated by the passion of this young worker, decided to take him on as an apprentice.
orion becomes very well researched, particularly fascinated by the many datapads regarding cybertronian mental disorders, especially the ones regarding plurality and the existence of seemingly multiple mecha within one frame. he's not really sure why exactly that sort of information intrigues him so much, but he notes it for later and continues on in his work.
many stellar cycles later, orion meets megatron; a miner from tarn who rose up to become one of the greatest fighters in kaon's great gladiator rings. they bond over poetry and their vast thirst for knowledge and slowly, they fall in love. and then.... orion is summoned by the prime himself, sentinel.
megatron urges him to take the opportunity, to potentially request that the prime try to dismantle many of the oppressive systems that now shackle people like megatron and to some extent, orion (who remember worked as a labourer for a good chunk of his existence before being taken in by alpha trion)
so orion travels to meet the prime and that's when everything goes wrong. he arrives in iacon, the great shining beacon of cybertron and he is immediately ushered into a private room with sentinel. and the prime is not happy, ranting almost nonsensically about "a successor" and "it's not my time to step down, it's mine"
when orion tries to get a word in edgewise, tries to tell his prime about all the torment and suffering that mecha like megatron and so many more suffer under, how their planet is being bled of resources, sentinel dismisses him. he tells orion that the system is working exactly as intended and that mechs like megatron are but dirt beneath his and orion's pedes.
orion is confused and very angry because megatron is his lover. he knows that the system shouldn't work this way and he tells sentinel as such. sentinel opens his chest to reveal the matrix and snaps at orion that "the system is working just as intended, otherwise this would tell me otherwise. primus chose me and clearly he is more than satified with the way i've been running things"
orion leaves iacon, defeated and angry and filled with a sense of rage that feels so unlike him. megatron tells him its not his fault and the two of them agree that something has to be done.
so they visit the well of allsparks, probably the most religious location on all of cybetron. something calls orion to the well, something deep inside him. its similar to that rage he felt earlier, like its someone else in control.
my version of the matrix is unlike other continuities. it is a religious artifact that sentinel has in his possession for most of the time but he returns it to the well of allsparks for religious holidays and such. this version of the matrix selects the leaders of cybertron, tailored specifically for whatever the mecha of the planet need at that time. and they need a leader, one who will listen, one who will fight. and that mech is not orion.
the matrix calls to orion. he ignores the many guards surrounding it, almost entranced. megatron tries to stop him, tries to get him away because what good has the matrix done anyways, we don't need it. but orion ends up touching the matrix, letting its light consumes him. and the mecha who returns to the well of allsparks is not orion pax, but optimus prime my version of optimus prime is a dormant fragment that got lost in transit while orion's full consciousness was forming.
orion is the host, he's the one who was in control for most of the pre war era. optimus on the other hand, is a mech whose identity is formed by the matrix' overwhelming need for a being who will fight against the corruption that has burned through cybertron's very core. megatron, meanwhile is freaking out. his friend, his lover just vanished in a flash of light. he's being interrogated by guards when another flash of light engulfs the room and then a mech who looks similar to orion appears. he's bigger, taller, with more armour and a battle mask snapped firmly over his face plates but that colour palette and the way he speaks sounds just like orion.
"i am optimus prime." the new mech says and then he collapes.
my version of optimus and orion are a duality. i am a fan of creating themes of characters who are opposites to each other. orion is the thinker, he is the one who reads and absorbs information. he craves knowledge. optimus is a fighter. he's built to fight and is heavily armoured and is very much willing to take on the system of cybertron if it means a better future for everyone else i think that orion has a lot of identity issues when he finally comes to and is told what happens. on the one servo, that explains why exactly he was so curious about plurality and felt a kinship with many of the first hand accounts he'd read. but on the other servo. there's literally a whole other person, one hand picked by primus himself to fight now inhabiting his frame alongside him. and that's a lot to take in. my version of orion grapples with the reality that he is never alone anymore and isn't that wonderful but also it'll never be just him anymore and that's terrifying. he also has to cope with the very real possibility that optimus might injure their shared body very badly in a fight
optimus is rather confused about the whole situation. mostly because he's existed for only a few minutes as a full person, not as a random fragment floating around in the depths of orion's processor. but he knows why he's here and what his goal is. he needs to help cybertron and he's more than ready to do his duty. the handsome gladiator that his headmate managed to bag probably isn't such a bad thing either lmao
megatron probably handles it the best. he's almost entranced by optimus, someone who is bigger than orion both in body and mind, who can grapple with megatron without straining a strut with that matrix granted strength. he's down fucking bad for the both of them is what i'm saying. he helps orion through the identity crisis and is there to assure and council both his lovers through all their problems. he is a bit shaken up when it first happens because he's honestly not sure if he'll ever seen orion again.
optimus and orion exist in a state of co-fronting and only one of them around for a long period of time. when its the both of them, their identities merge and warp and become close to something like one individual for the most part. they still exist as themselves but something about having their minds so close together for long periods of time blurs the line between optimus prime and orion pax. however when it's just one of them on their own, they are very much themselves.
orion, as mentioned is a thinker. he's the strategist, the diplomat and he's the one in front for the periods of time when the army is on their own on earth. he loves the life on the new planet and he is the one responsible for charging rewind to create a detailed history of their people
optimus is the one fronting for most of the time they are fighting. in a way he almost craves it, the thrill of combat, the glory of battle. he likes to interact with the army to, he gets to know most of the soliders and doesn't shy away from getting his servos dirty. he interacts with the troops and gets to really know his soldiers on a deep personal level. he's a very down to earth kind of guy and tends to not get caught up in emotional stuff as badly as orion, though he's got a lot of repressed feelings regarding stuff like the matrix and primus but it's better for him to just not think about that kind of thing
anyways i really like thinking about plurality in transformers. i'm a singlet (so not a system) but i'm friends with quite a few systems myself (one of which got me into transformers) so making plural headcanons (and by that i mean my massive brain friends make the headcanons and i immediately incorporate them into my belief system.) i get rather nervous posting my headcanons so please be nice <3
reblogs > likes (if ya like my headcanons give em' a reblog)

I can't believe you meshed stud with virgin tarn. Of course the lawful evil bureaucrat WOULD have something on what to do with the mates of the Listed
Look, I'm gonna make fun of this edgelord, unreconstructed killer because he needs to be taken down. I know there's sauve intellectual lover!Tarn and horny-as-the-devil, sadistic torturer!Tarn, but c'mon where's my awkward-turtle, closeted romantic Tarn who based his idea of romance on really skewed perceptions of chirvalry within the gladiatorial clades and ridiculous erotica?
This guy can recite Megatron's early poetry of Revolution and quote Towards Peace to those upon the List, trivia nights, and to put other "fans" in place, but get him near a sexual encounter and he clams up because this isn't how it's supposed to go!
It's even funnier because he damn well wrote those regulations because that's what Megatron described his time as a gladiator, like the barbarians of the distant past that would raid trading cavarans, winners would ensure the losers' carrying sparks make it to the end because "even in victory, there are consequences to our actions, and one must do their due diligence to ensure proper care and treatment is ensured. For even under the grind of oppression, justice still exists. It may be a harsh one and forged by necessity, but no less true to the community that flourished in spite of the unyielding brutality."
No one can ever say that Tarn stepped away from his duties: he's the "lie down and think of the cause" mech because 1) no experience, 2) in the deep with Lord Megatron, 3) thinks sexual torture is a degrading method that shows little finesse and poor punishment, and 4) painfully aware of his frame and its proportions, so he really doesn't want to fuck it up.

More Than Meets the Eye #49 — Guys, This One Was Kinda Fucked Up
Sunder’s got his magic eyes in and is currently eating Skids’s brain. Not to worry though, because Dr. Rung of the Pious Pools, PhD, psy-op specialist and master of stick-fu, who goads people into shooting infants and also himself, is handling the situation.
Tumblr media
Well, thank god we’re minding our Ps and Qs with the literal serial killer.
Tumblr media
Sunder, of course, doesn’t see why Rung’s so upset, as he believes himself to be doing Skids a favor by unearthing his repressed memories. Honestly, I think if he’d asked first, Skids would’ve been all for it. Maybe not the cannibalism aspect of this activity, but the unearthing for sure.
Hopping back into those memories, we skip forward a bit, as Tarn comes in to check on Skids’s progress for fixing the teleport machine. He transforms, because we need to reiterate that he really fucking loves transforming. Snare is also here. You remember Snare? The man who’s never seen his feet? He’s here too. Weird that he keeps finding himself dealing with the worst of the Decepticon upper command.
Anyway, Skids and Tarn have worked out a little deal, where Skids fixes Grindcore’s teleporters, in exchange for the release of fifty Autobot prisoners. If Skids doesn’t manage to do it, Tarn will kill 500 prisoners as punishment. Which is sort of like decimation, with deci- times the slaughter. Luckily, Skids is god’s favorite little man, and Tarn seems aware of it, as he congratulates him on a job well done. Then he throws him back in his cell, where Quark is waiting to make fun of him for smiling like a doofus over having gotten in Tarn’s good graces.
Quark doesn’t trust Tarn to keep his word, and thinks that Skids is a fucking moron for having faith in the guy with all this power over their lives. Skids admits that while Tarn probably isn’t going to keep his word, it’s still better that their mass teleportation machine is working again, so that prisoners can at least be transported to do slave labor on other planets, where they’ll need to be fed and kept alive, unlike Grindcore.
That’s when the radio cuts on, playing a song that would one day become infamous for its implications— The Empyrean Suite.
...But I’m sure it’s fiiiiiiine!
Back in the present, Froid’s unlocking Sunder’s cell and taking off his handcuffs, just in time for the flamebots to show back up and tell him to cut that shit out. Sunder, of course, does his thing, and Rung and Skids watch in horror as something super gross happens off-panel, complete with wet, squishy SFX. Rung also transmits something via his recorder thumb, likely a warning to the others on the ship. But we won’t know for sure for a bit, because now we’re jumping forward in time.
Over in the maximum security section of the Lost Light’s brig, we finally see Mr. Pugface Charisma himself, strung up and restrained in a way reminiscent of how Alternate Rung was in the epilogue of the “Elegant Chaos” storyline, but decidedly hornier. Tailgate zips by on his hoverboard, apparently having woken up at some point. Seems like he’s doing fine, though, so I’m not too worried about how long he slept.
Tailgate isn’t thrilled to have run into Getaway, and is even more displeased when Getaway refuses to speak to him about what exactly is happening; everything is dark, everyone else has disappeared, someone’s graffitied the walls, and there’s a bunch of greebled orbs laying around.
Tailgate shows Getaway Cyclonus’s vial of innermost energon that he left by his bedside (aw, he does love him!), then tells Getaway to go fuck himself, punching the steel plate door to his cell and shattering the windows as he does. Of course, Getaway genuinely does have a reason for not speaking to Tailgate, so it’s not like he’s being intentionally petty.
Tumblr media
Now who was the sadistic little bastard who decided that he needed his limbs off and voice taken away? This is some freak shit right here, this is borderline fetish material.
Tailgate goes to investigate one of the weird greeble orbs, and Rung, Skids, and Froid show up just in time to warn him not to touch it, as it’s actually one of the crew members, having been turned inside out, thanks to Sunder making them think that’s what shape they need to be. It’s fucked up. This is a fucked up storyline. Tailgate’s most worried about Cyclonus though, as should be clear by his vial lanyard. He grabs Rung by the arm and demands to know where his not-boyfriend is.
It turns out that after Megatron heard that a guy with eyeballs that make you turn into a bowl of haggis was loose onboard the ship, he turned the lights out and had everyone lock themselves in their rooms. So Cyclonus is probably in habsuite 14, staring out the window, which he was probably going to do anyway. Very little about today is switching up his standard routine.
Rung and company aren’t locked up because they’re looking for Chromedome, so he can put Skids’s memories into the proper lockbox in his head, seeing as he’s gonna die if he recalls them too fast. Rung’s also out here to yell at Froid, because he can’t fucking believe he’d go and get close to a guy who’s got Megatron turning out the lights and hiding. Froid, however, swears his motives are purely professional.
Tumblr media
Skids starts groaning again, which means that Sunder is nearby, and sure enough, the brain goblin comes ‘round the corner not a moment later.
In the flashback, Tarn is congratulating Skids on a job well done, then shows him proof of the fifty prisoners having been let out of Grindcore, now roaming around in the Manganese Mountains. Because the last time Roberts had robots holed up in the mountains, it worked out so very well for everyone.
Skids tries to sweeten the deal for next time, but Tarn says that he’s no longer useful to have around, since he’s an Autobot, and Snare watched him do all the stuff that fixed the teleporters. However, Tarn would be loathe to let Skids’s good deed go unpunished.
Tumblr media
Don’t worry about the corpses in the background; they’re part of the decor.
Skids, however, is a selfless little man, and he has the bright idea to ask if he can give his free ride to someone else.
Back in the present, Froid is trying to run away from the monster he helped create, and it gets him about as far as you’d expect, as he explodes into a beautiful spaghetti flower and then orbs up. It looks like Rung, Skids, and Tailgate are next, but luckily there’s still a hero left to save the day.
Tumblr media
Careful now, Tailgate, you’re a (possibly(accidentally)) married man!
Thunderclash and Megatron chase after Sunder, taking a moment to note that one of the balls in this corridor is Rodimus, while Chromedome sticks his fingers in the holes in Skids’s compartmentalization. Rung and Tailgate also run off to face Sunder, Rung claiming to have an ace up his sleeve.
Megatron and Thunderclash catch up to Sunder in the shuttle bay as he’s entering his ship, which makes Megatron remember something very important: Septre was a fucking ship.
Tumblr media
Honestly, I’m surprised this doesn’t happen more often.
Thunderclash isn’t concerned with Sunder now being the size of a McMansion, claiming that he must be scared, considering he’s stopped using his black speech bubbles. Apparently those were meant to convey a “Mortilus impersonation”. Why they know what their gods are supposed to sound like isn’t addressed.
Sunder makes a speech about being too hardcore to be afraid of death, because he’s a mnemosurgeon and eats memories and flies around in his brother’s corpse. Then he orbs Thunderclash, husband of millions, thus officially barring himself from the kingdom of heaven. This is the point where Rung attacks him with his fleet of model ships, which are apparently also RC planes. This plan only works for a moment, because, again, Sunder is currently the size of a house.
Megatron, having been knocked down in the direction of the fusion cannon Thunderclash had been wearing, is in the perfect position to strap it on and blow this giant hungry bitch away. However, he probably knows that if he resorts to violence, Rodimus will take away his Rodimus Star for abandoning his evil ways. Tailgate, no doubt frustrated by Megatron trying to talk down the guy who keeps haggising the crew, takes matters into his own hands.
Tumblr media
No, he couldn’t do that before. Tailgate himself isn’t sure why exactly he can suddenly pick up midlife crisis purchases and hurl them with enough force to incapacitate serial killers. We’ll have to get Velocity on this, since she’s the only doctor left on the ship.
Because Rung is resigning.
When Rung sent that recording of Froid and his conversation, as a way to warn Megatron of the danger on the ship, it also included their little argument over being “too close” to patients, and Rung’s delicensing. Knowing that more than one other person is privy to his crimes, Rung’s decided to beat things to the punch and retire, as if the Lost Light could afford to lose their mental health specialist, even if he does suck absolute dick. Megatron seems to see it that way, anyhow, suggesting that Rung still tell his patients about not being licensed, but let them decide if they still want to see him anyway.
Rung calls him a stupid fuck in the most polite way possible, then leaves, just as Rodimus is arriving. Megatron makes a pun, then we get the skinny on what’s going on with Tailgate. As best as Velocity can figure, the background radiation caused by quantum travel, combined with being stressed the fuck out by Cyclonus being shot and seemingly killed in front of him, caused his spark to evolve. Which is a much better deal than what I’d assume that sort of thing would do for a human being. I figure that’d be a heart attack situation.
Rodimus wants to know what happened with Sunder in the shuttle bay, and why Megatron tried to talk him down instead of firing. Megatron’s figured that he’s tried the way of violence for the last several million years, and he’s really trying to be better than that now, even if it gets people hurt. He’s a pacifist now. Which sucks, because it’s probably going to bite both him and those around him in the ass later, and also he’ll never be Vash the Stampede, so he really shouldn’t even bother trying.
Getting back to the flashback (sort of, anyway; Skids isn’t remembering this next part, it’s more for us as the readers to get closure) Quark’s queued up for the teleporter, having been given Skids’s spot. He’s gonna be doing hard labor on “New Tarn”. Skids is also here, having apparently touched Tarn’s cold, dead heart with his kindness. Everyone loads up into the teleporter, and it looks like everything’s gonna be just fine!
Tumblr media
I said EVERYTHING’S GONNA BE JUST FINE.
The music comes on, significantly louder in this chamber, and Skids is suddenly teleported out and away, Quark screaming for him as he disappears. He arrives in Tarn’s office, where he’s leaning on his desk and drinking out of his fancy little decanter, waiting for the show to start. Skids knows by this point that the machine he was sent to fix was in actuality a smelter, and Tarn explains that they need that fancy shmancy sentio metallico to build bodies for their upcoming MTO forces. Then he drags Skids over to the window and melts the belief in a loving god out of his head.
Tumblr media
And that’s a series wrap on Quark! Let’s give him a hand, folks!
...Nobody tell Brainstorm about this.

IDW Demon Tarn has captured a small angel, and instead of killing them, he treats them like a prized pet, making them sing for his entertainment in the gilded cage they are trapped. Yearning for one day to be free from his clutches.
Tarn loved you, but not like someone would love a friend or a partner of a lifetime. This love between you wasn't kind or pure, it was dark and possessive.
You knew what he was able to do to you or your fellow angels if you didn't obey him so you toughen up and sing from the bottom of your lungs.
You sing straight from your heart and how it yearns for freedom. Freedom to spread your wings and be free of these demon's claws...
This confuses Tarn, but he holds his composure as he gently holds you and brushes your soft pure snow-white wings while you sing for him.
Hasn't he been nothing but kind to you? You get food you have always dreamed of trying but never dared to in fear of God's wrath?
Like those sweet and juicy crimson-red apples that he goes as far as cutting to look like rabbits for you? You like those, don't you? Tarn can tell.
He also lets you do nearly anything you want to that wouldn't settle well with other Heavenly beings like angels and such.
He doesn't force you to work. He wouldn't dare to let your soft hands get calluses. All you need to do is to look pretty and only sing for him.
Tarn is offering you everything you could desire, including freedom. A freedom to be yourself without fear of being punished. Sure, it may cost you but isn't this worth that?

Note
This is totally based off that one post of yours, but Tarn corrupting and manipulating an honestly good-at-spark young bot into doing some genuinely decrepit things because he’s somehow managed to convince them it’s the right thing to do
It shouldn’t be so empowering to break down a mech’s beliefs and natural disposition, to mold them into the perfect loyal soldier, but Tarn can’t help the swell of his ego to know he’s made you what you are. After all, that’s truly what every Autobot is: a receptacle for someone else’s ideals. In Tarn’s educated opinion, most Autobots don’t even know what they’re fighting for. You were truly just a mindless drone before he got his servos on you, processor filled to the brim with Functionist lies. At least you weren’t battle-hardened, unused to torture or pain. It took barely a deca-cycle for you to break.
Now, you’re a monument to all he can achieve. All he could do if he had the proper resources. All Autobots could be corrected the same way if given the opportunity. No spinal strut is too straight to be broken. All you needed was some ‘convincing’ and a firm servo to lead your natural empathy onto the most righteous path.
When you purged from his first test, convulsing and shaking, Tarn reminded you that the Decepticon you maimed had strayed from the most just cause. After countless centuries of struggle and pain, the Decepticons had finally risen as the logical end conclusion for Cybertron’s journey to find truth and unity. Those who would turn their back on a greater world are not worthy of inheriting it. He handed you the arm that you had sloppily sawed through, inexperienced servos shaking with your lack of discipline, so you might keep it as a reminder. You had been chosen by him for Megatron’s cause. You won’t make a fool of him.
“It’s like killing a cleaner drone,” He remarks, watching you wipe up the spilled energon with his hardened optics. Your punishment for not living up to his standards, “What you are doing is teaching others who might decide that their life is worth more than all of Cybertron.”
And you want what’s best for your fellow Cybertronians.
Despite your early slip-up’s, Tarn has come to love you like a mentor. Like he once believed Megatron loved him. This time, though, he knows it’s something real. It doesn’t matter if you return his affections. He wouldn’t care if you did. You are helping him correct all of Cybertron, which is the greatest gift you could ever give him. Even when he insists you are to share everything with him, you don’t flinch or recoil. There is no boundary too far for a better Cybertron.

I've been thinking of my favorite old headcanon for Kaon since in comic, his backstory wasn't covered, and he is clearly so emotionally close to Tarn and comfortable hugging him, and he was an electric chair. I headcanon, and it's still one of my favorite, that he was created for the DJD and Tarn was his semi-mentor and like him, he was one of the oldest members. He knew aomething but them and was execptionally close to all membera as they were his entire world and he rarely ever interacted with outside information or even other Decepticons except those that were being punished. That's why he's so sentimental and attached to Dominus and strangely soft at times and devoted to Tarn. That's his home and murder family and everything he has ever known.
All this to say, I still one day need to write the Kaon Lives With The Lost Light AU.
It'd make a lot of sense based on what I've seen of Kaon!

OOC: So who is Glit? (Headcanons <3)
So in case it's not fully clear, in my AU, Glit, Howlback and Ravage are siblings. There were originally twelve siblings, and they were built to operate in cat & bird pairs: Ravage and Laserbeak, Nightstalker and Buzzsaw, Howlback and Garboil, Glit and Squawktalk, Stripes and Sundor, and Pounce and Wingspan. Each pair had its own colour scheme. They were all intended for pre-war Cybertronian black ops. The birds are fast, can see far far away, and can plug into your system and steal your information easily. They don't interact with other mecha as much as the cats do.
The cats were trained to be not just deadly spies and assassins, but also for psyops, including seduction, friendly interrogation and entertainment. As beastformers they were disposable, but in their root modes they looked like other small bipedal robots (like Minimus or Cheetor) with beast-like features. Those who were forced to become cassettes were locked in their beast modes until that was reversed.
This project was defunded, and they were all supposed to be terminated, but they weren't, because the people who made them sold them under the table as slaves to get their investment back.
Ravage and Laserbeak and Buzzsaw and Nightstalker (the latter of whom died) were bought up by Senator Ratbat, Pounce and Wingspan disappeared into the Warworlds, Howlback and Garboil were bought up by Iaconian Metaforensics (they learned to be cops from Prowl), and Stripes worked in the Censor's office with Sundor where they made friends with Blaster, which is why they chose the Autobots.
But this is about Glit. Glit and Squawktalk were bought by a noble Vosni house and sent to accompany their unconventional medic daughter Pharma in Iacon as servants and bodyguards.
It was Pharma's conjunx Ratchet who noticed that Glit had the capability to become a medic, made sure he passed the Ambus Test, and trained him--he wasn't very employable in the greater world, but he worked beside Ratchet in the Dead End clinic where he reconnected with Ravage and met Drift and Soundwave.
Anyhow, if you know the whole Glit story, you know that he became the best of the Decepticon medics, the kindest and most impartial--and yet, IDW shows him working at Decepticon death camp Grindcore, which was managed by Tarn before he was Tarn.
Megatron and Glit had issues even in Kiss Players because Glit will heal anyone and cares more for how much help a patient might need than their rank. So it was Megatron who sent him to work there as a punishment--if he wanted to heal Autobots and aliens, he could do it there. This is how Glit acquired a lot of information about the worst war crimes, an addiction to drinking high-grade and alcohol, and also a shit ton of frozen sparks that he 'liberated'.
Glit eventually let the Autobots into Grindcore but he absconded rather than take a red badge; he still remembers what the system they were trying to defend was like and doesn't believe a peaceful reform was possible.
Anyhow he fled to Earth where he thought he would be safe, and he was for a while. He married a bar hostess in Kyoto and learned to sing enka music. Helped her with raising her kids, and everything else. Sang in bars. Did a little furry porn on the side with her. Whatever he could do until he got his medical licence back.
Then Megatron took over the planet, oops. Rosanna heard Glit singing and that's how he ended up in her "interspecies friendship" band rather than turned over to the DJD.
Shortly before the end of the war his wife Naoko died, leaving him a mess. While Soundwave made him the Chief Medical Officer of Sanctuary Station (and Chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Committee), and while he did have a medical licence in Japan, he still maintains his OnlyFans site, where he gets a respectable stream of income from former Kiss Players fans, furries and robotfuckers.
And in his thread with Fortress Maximus, he's gone to Luna-1 to help him and Cerebros restore the Tebris VII survivors using the domestication reversal protocol developed by Spinister, because he may be an entertainer and a denizen of the 'mizu-shoubai' (and has no shame about it!) but he is also still one of the best Decepticon medics in the galaxy.

“You know,” Tarn says, conversationally, like he’s observing the weather or talking about last night’s nessit match, “I don’t do these things because I enjoy them. I loathe all of it, actually— the sounds, the mess, the stench.”
His optics are distant through his mask. Upset? Or just disappointed?
“Everything I’ve done here was for your benefit. You needed to learn. You needed to be punished. I’ve always been one to spare the rod and spoil the spark, so to speak, but some mistakes… Well, they simply don’t look like mistakes.”

🌿.
Send 🌿 to accidentally get caught under the mistletoe with my muse.
Now many would believe that Tarn would be thinking every cycle about something like this. However those rumors would be wrong. Loyalty came in many different forms but perhaps others took his definition of loyalty wrong. What he had for Megatron could never be faltered by anything. Dedication. Allegiance. Devotion. All of it was held within Tarn and to him, it was that unbreakable bond. It was what he held with the uptmost care after being gifted everything he'd once lost. Not many would understand that kind of loyalty.
This cycle though, he wasn't the one to plant the little branch around for them to accidentally went into. Tarn was much too busy to dabble in such things, not when Megatron needed his work more than anything else. So it had to be some cruel ploy that someone around had planted.
No. He didn't want to test Megatron's patience. Nor did he desire to have Megatron question this even though it was likely he would. At least he wasn't Starscream here. His punishment would likely be far different.
Tumblr media
A sigh left Tarn as he unlatched his mask from his face, setting it aside on top of his datapad. He couldn't remember the last time Megatron had likely seen him without his mask on. "Don't take this as any of those rumors you might hear of me. Their definition of loyalty is far different than mine."
Tarn leaned up, not showing the bit of hesitancy, even though he might feel it within him. Lord if the others knew what he'd done. But Megatron-- if only briefly got to experience the slight bit of what another form of what loyalty could offer perhaps. However one might describe this. Before it could be interpretted into anything, Tarn pulled away so that he could go grab his mask once more and put it back on.
That data pad that he'd set aside earlier, he left there for Megatron's viewing. "You'll find every bit of information you asked for on that data pad. Let me know if you need anything else on the contents."
