Like lots of people, my attention has been stolen by Welcome Home! I saw some concept sketches of all the neighbors as kids, and Wally with his little blankie was just too cute. This is my take on sleepy Wally, little kids need their naps after all!
from @gerardpilled ‘s post where mcr could still get on sesame street and i was filled with the idea of gerard interacting with julia the muppet (she's autistic)
with jim henson trending on tumblr I urge everyone to watch the dark crystal (2019) it was produced by the jim henson company and netflix and one of the producers is jims daughter. if you like epic fantasy and miss practical effects and shows where it’s clear so much soul and hard work was poured into it? watch the dark crystal. It’s really good and it never got the love it deserved
hey if you ever think youre too autistic just know there have been several times i had to put my phone down and take a few deep breaths cause i got too happy thinking about puppets
I know Sesame Street is still doing its thing. I know it’s more inclusive than ever. Jim Henson Studios is on the right side of history.
For me though, I grew up with Kermit when the show was created primarily for poorer, inner city kids to have something both fun and educational and free to watch.
I learned life lessons that still hold true today.
You know no intentionally scary puppet content like Welcome Home or Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared makes me as uneasy as the unintentionally creepy first appearance of Snuffleupagus. That I just recently found out about.
youtube
Muppets are usually pretty lively but Snuffy is. Very still in this except for like...swaying an bit? And there’s no music. And it’s not clear whether he’s real or not. And
I never saw this as a kid but the more refined Snuffleupagus puppet of the Sesame Street I grew up with still gave me the creeps when I was little (I have since moved past this) but like. If I had seen this instead? Nightmares..
one day I will write an essay comparing the existence of Julie Andrews Cookie Monster Big Spender to the huge scandal that happened when Katy Perry wore a low cut dress and they cut her song on Sesame Street, because I think it’s pretty representative of a cultural shift that’s happened since the 70s
OH MY GOD POWERPOINT ON WEB BROWSER IS THE MOST INFURIATING THING I HAVE EVER HAD THE DISPLEASURE TO USE.
if it did not cost money I would buy it so it wasn't so FRUSTRATING.
this is my favorite slide I have done so far ( I need to fix Bluey but it will do for now :-) )
Big Bird!! Finn and Jake!! BLUEY!!
sunny days by David Kamp is very insightful when it comes to all the kid shows from the 60's to 80's!! I recommend it if you are interested in reading on that kind of stuffs! The passage on Sesame Street and diversity surprised me! I hadn't expected a lot of the information it provided but it definitely helped !!
