Reading headlines about professional theatre these past few years is an absolute wild ride. Maybe all this stuff was happening before the pandemic, but I never heard about it. Now every two seconds, it's something like this:
"Inspiring! 'Retired' Broadway actress stars as Elphaba in Broadway with no rehearsal after 8 years away from the theatre working as a biologist in Antarctica... and she's never even SEEN Wicked before!"
"The Show Must Go On! Tony-winning actor announces that he performed at the Tony awards on a broken leg, will be taking two days off to have it treated"
"The Zodiac Killer to join the cast of Chicago as Roxie Hart! He will be wearing a bag over his head at all performances to hide his identity, but we are training AI to recognize his voice patterns"
"Audience wowed by all-understudy performance of Sweeney Todd with the role of the Beadle eliminated entirely and Johanna played by the French horn player from the pit"
"Previously announced production of NAPOLEON! THE MUSICAL to be canceled two days before scheduled opening after playwright pulled rights due to 'unauthorized changes' and 'offensive casting.' Director defends choice to have a chimpanzee play the title role."
"After 147 years, beloved local theatre company announces closure due to ongoing poison-resistant ant infestation. Site to become a research lab about these spectacular ants!"
"5 billion dollar new AI-written Broadway musical BABY SHARK to close after 2 performances, both of which took place on a partial set because it wasn't finished yet"
"After 109 years, beloved local theatre company canceling their 2023-2024 season because they only got 2 sales and that was from the artistic director's mom and her next-door neighbor Debra (who drives)."
"Shocking! Artistic director of beloved local theatre exposed! Actors report seeing multiple interns and swings sacrificed to a minotaur living in the boiler room during his time at the theatre.'
"Beloved local theatre company announces new membership structure! Top membership tier (names engraved on lobby wall, premium seats for whole season, free admission to exclusive parties and events) will consist of donors who gave full or partial organs to our uninsured non-union actors!"
"Onward and upward! Phantom of the Opera now spotted living under Shake Shack!"

ryan ross iceberg (tier 4)
tier 1, tier 2, tier 3, tier 5, tier 6, tier 7, tier 8
the middle of the iceberg:
crankthatfrank interview:
crankthatfrank is a youtuber who had his peak of popularity in 2015-2017 making what was described as “bandom crack” content. a lot of yeemo, cheez wiz, frerard, etc. i personally wasn’t a fan of his content (i think i was just too old to be in his demographic (and i thought it was cringey)), but he was fairly successful within that community. i don’t really know how else to describe his content other than you had to be there.
in 2019, he interviewed ryan, which was actually a really good interview! it was very lighthearted without being too silly and off the wall, like bryan stars interviews were. it was such a pleasant surprise, especially considering the way ryan stans are starved for content. throughout the interview, ryan holds z in his arms the whole time while she cosplays as a corpse so that was interesting. also, ryan revealed his favorite song off of afycso is i constantly thank god for esteban. he said 2020 was going to be the year for the comeback.
that was a lie.
frank sadly deleted the original video, but there is a reupload, thankfully. i highly recommend watching the interview if you haven’t yet!
youtube
hair in cupcakes:
so it’s unclear if the hair was in cookies or cupcakes because sources differ, but the sentiment is the same either way. in an interview from 2013, brendon said that in the early days of the band, some fans baked them cookies, and brendon and their merch guy ate them [i]. brendon saw a hair in the first cookie, but kept eating them anyway. he says, “i kept pulling hairs out of my mouth and after no.10 i asked the merch guy if he was pulling hairs out of his mouth and he was” [i]. there turned out to be hairs in every single cookie. ryan also talked about in the paige and friends podcast, which is the next entry [ii].
paige and friends podcast:
also in 2019, ryan featured on the paige and friends podcast, run by paige elkington (ryan really had us fooled for a minute there that 2020 WOULD be his year). they talked some about the panic! and the young veins days, dekc, his sobriety, his absence from the internet, hockey, politics, amongst other things. this was another great “interview” and a fun look into some slice of life things from ryan, so i also recommend giving it a listen here [ii].
chuck palahniuk:
this is one of ryan’s favorite authors – definitely his favorite in the early days of panic! (he is also my favorite author, as is the natural course of being a ryan ross stan). some of his works include: invisible monsters, fight club, choke, and survivor. his writing is primarily satirical with a very distinct voice.
his works were referenced a lot in afysco. time to dance is about invisible monsters, and the song title “the only difference between martyrdom and suicide is press coverage” is a quote from survivor. some of ryan’s other songwriting on that album is evidently inspired by palahniuk’s style of writing.
pet salamander:
this was one of ryan’s bands before panic!. spencer and brent were also in this band, along with another member named trevor. they were often called a blink 182 cover band, but spencer stated that this actually isn't true. they just practiced a lot of blink 182 songs when learning how to play [iii].
their website is still up, and it includes some pictures of the band and each member. it also even contains ryan's old email, discussed in tier 3, at the bottom.
since the member bios aren’t on the site anymore, they are documented here [iv].
Tumblr media
his other band isn't on the iceberg, but it was called the summer league. it was basically panic! before panic! actually existed. their sound wasn't similar to what panic!'s was, but it was essentially all the same members.
kanye west stan:
stan is a very loosely used term here, but ryan has said that he likes kanye’s music, and he owns some stuff from his clothing line.
taxidermy:
as you can see in some of ryan’s Instagram posts, he has a lot of taxidermy in his house.
Tumblr media
hooters:
in 2010, ryan and brendon ran into each other at a hooters. if i’m not mistaken, i think this is the the last picture we have of them together.
Tumblr media
rydan:
this refers to ryan and his friend, dan keyes. ryan posted about him a lot in the 2010s, and he was a member of dead end kids as well. i think the mashup of their names mostly refers to their friendship, but there are people who think they genuinely dated. this tweet here, as well as the replies, references that [v]. it’s also discussed in this tumblr post [vi].
Tumblr media
club hockey:
ryan plays club hockey. he actually started playing hockey as a child, and he talks about his love for hockey in the paige and friends podcast.
Tumblr media
alex greenwald:
i’ve already mentioned him before in this iceberg, but alex is one of ryan’s good friends and the frontman of phantom planet (you may know this band from the OC theme song). he played with the young veins sometimes, and he played with z’s former band, phases. we’ll talk about him some more in later entries as well.
Tumblr media
helena vestergaard:
this is another one of ryan’s ex girlfriends. they dated in 2015, and he first posted about her on instagram in july. his last post of her was in december that year. i don’t really have much to say about this relationship besides she seemed like a really nice girl. these days she has 2 kids. she also used to date anthony kiedis from red hot chili peppers, which is very interesting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
coke picture:
so not too long after ryan left panic!, a picture came out of him with cocaine on a tray in front of him. this was very controversial, and he even commented on it explaining himself here [vii]. i don’t really understand why he had to explain himself though. i am no means a drug apologist (i’m literally straight edge) and i know drugs are bad, but i don’t think he did anything wrong. in the post i linked above, he says he didn’t realize the coke was in the picture, which may or not be true, but if it is, then he might not have even done it.
all he did was be surrounded by beautiful women and do cocaine. what is so wrong with that.
Tumblr media
myrtle beach:
this is a ryden entry and basically a theory that ryan and brendon hooked up.
on june 24th, 2006 panic! played the house of blues in myrtle beach, south carolina (and i have been to this venue because i’m from sc…). after the show, panic!, the supporting acts, and crew went skinny dipping at the beach.
greta said this in an interview about it [viii]:
Q: Tell us about your craziest touring experience.
On the 2006 Panic Tour, we played the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach [JUNE 24TH]. After the show, most of the bands and crew walked a mile to the beach and, having not brought our swimsuits, decided to swim in underwear or totally nude. Bob and I opted to skinny dip and, at one point, he was trying to get back to the shore but the waves were crashing over him and he was gasping for breath. I yelled to him, 'Bob, are you going to live? As much as I want to help you, we are both naked so I can't.' (Would have been far too awkward). Thankfully, he survived in one glorious piece.
the thing that really led to rydennies thinking that something happened between ryan and brendon was what ryan posted on lj about it [viii]:
6-25-06 01:21:28 PDT - (No Subject)
The moon bred new Atlantic life tonight.the salt burned you right out of my eyes.and secrets we’re not proud of were taken with the tide. We were all newborns with blurred vision and no sense of direction.
Today I saw cancer, cigarettes and shortness of breath.
this is why I walk to the ocean.swim with jellyfish.I may never get this chance again.
this is why if you want to kiss you should kiss.
If you want to cry you should cry, and
if you want to live you should live.
You don’t have to love me. You already did. At least enough to keep me smiling from South Carolina to Virginia.it's for lovers (orjustfriends)
This is why I do it.
this also lead to the idea that summer was a very important motif for ryden; any references to the season in their lyrics or other postings meant they were talking about each other.
another part that people often cite as proof in that in this interview, the interviewer says they claim brendon is a virgin on stage every night, and ryan says “not anymore” at 01:36. so people think brendon lost his virginity to ryan.
youtube
and then the night of the show of the dancers on tour with them, dream, posted this on her lj [viii]:
June 24th, 2006
It’s our last night in Florida and let me tell you… this finally turned into a crazy rock tour… lots of shenanigans happened tonight… but I’ll save this story for the memoirs! Every night I stand on stage and tell the crowd that Brendon is a virgin… let’s just put it this way… it ain’t true!!!!
since this was posted the night of the mb show, she was talking about the florida show, which would already debunk that brendon could’ve lost it to ryan after the mb show. she also said in another post the next night that they met some spirited girls at the show and more than 20 of them went to the beach that night [viii].
honestly, there is no true supporting evidence to prove that anything sexual or romantic happened between them. both of them were probably talking about the girls they met at the show, or one of the other 20 people who were there.
seattle:
another ryden theory i fear.
so the story goes that on the night of ryan’s 21st birthday, keltie threw him a party at pete wentz’s bar. brendon couldn’t attend because he was in seattle (people theorized it was because he was too young to drink). after the party was over, ryan left keltie alone in their hotel in the middle of the night to fly out to see brendon. they went to eat at a diner together, and a fan spotted them, giving us this picture.
Tumblr media
this was allegedly what ryan wrote northern downpour about, such as the lines, “i missed your skin when you were east. you clicked your heels and wished for me.” also, rainy seattle is in the north.
when i was a ryden truther, i always said that this was the one ryden incident there was not a no homo explanation for. however, that is not true.
panic! was playing a festival in seattle a couple of days later. in fact, there is an interview from august 31, the day after ryan’s birthday and the day before the show, in which they’re wearing the same outfits from that picture.
youtube
the northern downpour theory also doesn’t make sense because ryan was in the east, not brendon. and ryan wrote the song.
if you’re interested in a further debunking of this, prettyoddfever details it here [ix].
halsey ryden truther:
when i say that halsey and i are spiritually connected, i mean it.
in 2013, halsey tweeted that ryden is still her otp.
Tumblr media
and then in 2015, they responded to a fan saying that she used to write ryden fic.
Tumblr media
also in 2015, ryan tweeted at them saying that they should work together. oh what could have been…
slow dance to the killers:
yet another ryden entry.
in a kerrang! article from 2006, it says this [x]:
Tumblr media
all i really have to say about this is that automatically assuming this must mean ryden is real plays into why men think they can’t be affectionate with one another without seeming “gay.”
cheated on keltie:
in her book, which we discussed earlier, keltie revealed that ryan cheated on her with a waitress. she found out about it the day after valentine’s day when she was looking through his phone.
she says [xi}:
I honestly can’t and don’t want to remember what I saw that day, but the dates registered with me. I saw the date of my birthday two weeks before, the day I received two huge bundles of flowers while spending time with my family in Canada. He was with her on my birthday. I scrolled back farther and realized he texted her while we were on vacation in Hawaii. He sang me love songs on the beach while also thinking about some girl.
he wrote about his infidelity in the young veins song, the other girl [xii].
this isn’t particularly relevant, but i did want to include one of my favorite tweets about this just because it lives in my head rent free.
Tumblr media
next we move on to some of the darker entries.

HELLOOOO I COME BEARING GIFTS
EPISODE 11 TRIVIA:
- ashe being there surprised dakota so much it broke him somewhat out of his bad mood! in grizzlys words "if he wouldnt have met ashe right then, dakota would have been so much more angry and miserable at the beginning of this episode. he mightve just straight up left. got up and walked away."
- he didnt want to talk to william or vyncent at all, so ashe being there (however unwillingly) as a third party made things easier and almost softened the blow of vyncent yelling at him in the moment
- "why did i dream about william and vyncent being villains in the beginnign and killing summer" ".... i dunno" *cue entire party suspicious WHAT DOES THAT MEAN*
- "i dont trust your characters now" "you have ONE bad dream and our campaign turns into a game of among us"
- william: "hey ashe do you want to run away and write poetry with me?" emo/goth kid solidarity
- this is yakko's (ashes player) first time ever playing a ttrpg !!! fucking wild!! he feels like he needs more practice describing things
- FUN CHARACTER FACTS. I LOVE THESE MORE THAN ANYTHING. BIZLY ASKED EACH OF THEM WHAT KINDS OF MUSIC THEIR CHARACTERS WOULD LISTEN TO.
dakota: breakbeat, old school rap, 90s punk rock. also for shows he would watch it was "cartoons like atla, tmnt and codename kids next door"
william: "indie rock. and on a bad day, evanescence" (god hes just like me fr)
vyncent: "my character doesnt know what music is"
ashe: MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE . also apparently yakko made an ashe winters playlist on spotify and thats actually what they were playing in the episode. i have not found this yet and i desperately want to
- for the spirit world, bizly asked charlie to find him just random pieces of music that he could envision places for and thats how they came up with carnival of souls! there are a handful more places like that that youll see eventually :]
- yakko: "im glad i was able to bring wavelengths threat level down an entire tier just by calling him mark"
- charlie wants william and ashe to hang out in character more because theyre so similar and he thinks they would have a lot to bond over! i love this
- theyre all really excited that they get to go to the spirit world together and it wasnt just an excuse to split the party because they dont want to do that :] (<< i just rlly like this energy)
- grizzly is specifically playing dakota as "not being able to process emotions very well"
ALSO!!!!!!! i dojt know what site or whatever youre using to watch/listen so im hoping they have this on there BUT. the tide backstory oneshot was posted between episodes 12 and 13 so if u wanted to listen to that one now would be a good time !!! its called The Elementals :]
HIII YAYAYAYAYYY!!!! ohh fuck yes a little bowl of seeds for me :333
the dakota & ashe stuff is so goodddd u can rlly tell. it's like yeah you cant be mad and miserable and sulky in front of someone u don't know!! & ashe is just.... so unbothered... i loaf him... he truly did bring the threat level down so fast. went from terrifying supervillain in charge of the Evil Facility to an exhausted pissed off single dad in 1 minute.
+ALL THE MUSIC STUFF IS SO GOOD..... ITS SO GOOD. yelling. vyncent is going 2 end up having the weirdest music taste from hanging out with them. augh... awesome trivia thabk. the energy they have is so fun always....

1. mainstream media - where the general public get their news and information (people who are not on social media or aren’t tapped into internet spaces). Think CNN, Fox News, or any national media outlets
2. industry publications - this is where film/tv, music news is published exclusively (Variety, Deadline, Hollywood Reporter, Vogue, GQ)
3. entertainment and gossip media that offer exclusive celebrity news from close sources or celebrity PR teams - TMZ, E!, ET Online, People
4. second tier gossip websites - The Daily Mail, The Mirror, The Sun, Page Six
5. social media news or gossip accounts with big followings - Popcrave, Deux Moi
6. Blind item sites - Enty/Blindgossip, Crazy Days and Nights
7. stan twitter accounts that pose as news or updates but only mine viral topics from followers or what is trending: Popfaction, Popbase
8. Generic social media accounts that are within a bubble, but with sizeable followings
This is a makeshift hierarchy of news/media/social media to illustrate how Cancel Percy occupied the lower rung of “news” throughout this mess. It did not travel up the ladder to mainstream news and never got close to it. Most of it was concentrated on level 7 and 8. It jumped to level 5 (Deux Moi) but was then pushed back down as DM dismissed the information and did not promote it as fact or even probable speculation. Popcrave didn’t post anything about Percy outside of announcing his casting with Jenna in WSSF. This “scandal” doesn’t exist in the upper echelon, that’s why Percy is name dropped in Hollywood Reporter and GQ without any reference to this mess. It is not relevant. I hope with this that people can see why Percy’s team is silent and why Netflix has no reason to fire him as this was nowhere near a PR crisis.
Anon, thank you so much for this!!
It's a wonderful material!

tuesday again 11/8/22
two days before my birthday problems
listening
Arrival At The Library from the Escape From New York soundtrack (1981, dir. and also scored by Carpenter). this is one of my favorite tracks bc of how tense it is-- so much music theory has been written about this score but i like it bc i like short fast repetition. makes me feel like i am inside computer as i do my little computer tasks.
youtube
the tracks on this thing are so short and mostly blend into each other, so it should not be startling that a thing i like so much is a hair over a minute long but i'm startled anyway.
unrelated to the music but related to the movie: let me lay out a scenario. a friend's partner (neither active on this site) was recently gushing about kurt russell's performance in this movie (same) and like. i know this man knows what bisexuality is. me saying "oh yeah have you seen big trouble in little china? suzee pai is so hot in that" got NO nibbles bc he immediately started talking about the women in the trucker episode of cowboy bebop.
i cannot outright ask this man for reasons of basic propriety if he is also bi. i can't even do the little signalling hey-im-bi-are-you-bi signalling dance bc 1) doesn't work on guys and 2) only works in real life and not the online. this isn't a problem to solve i'm just nosy and want to know if my vibes are right. also this would bump up the total of bi guys i know but have not dated to a grand total of three.
-
reading
one of my favorite grad students, a nuclear anthropologist, was briefly quoted in this middling article about bitcoin's survival in the event of a nuclear war (no). i do not know this guy in real life but i do have a parasocial relationship bc we used to run in the same physics/astro twitter circles before i had to use twitter for work and stopped using it personally for my health.
this is more of an excuse to talk about one of my favorite patreon structures, where it's just Some Guy doing his thing with a three dollar a month tier or something. i don't particularly care about new or exclusive content, or the perceived value thereof, i like the cut of someone's jib and want to throw a couple dollars for groceries their way. i want a handy spot to find, say, all the articles someone's written and been quoted in all in one place and nobody keeps their fuckin CV or portfolio updated and i'll be fucking damned before i use twitter again. because of my own personal choices, i am going to whine about how it is very hard to keep track of some of you people's work and what you're up to. inoreader only does so much, especially with twitter in an upheaval.
-
watching
this teardown of two of those automatic cocktail makers was very fun, got passed around the makerspace discord a bit. spoiler: it's pretty gross in there. this host is just a nice jersey boy who's lightly exasperated, which was of course extremely compelling to me.
youtube
in the original test run of these machines, he does what i value most in a critic but for food-- identify what is happening flavorwise, if it's typical or atypical for the drink, and break down exactly which flavor notes clash and why. i do not think i have every really thought about What Alcohol Flavors I Like other than knowing i have a light mint allergy and a dislike for tannins so this was a fun brain exercise.
youtube
-
playing
so there's a goofy little claw machine pie dispenser in the video game Fallout 4 that does not actually dispense pie. well, depending on a complex series of factors but mostly my luck stat (1) it would take about a hundred and fifty tries to get a slice of pie, across hundreds and hundreds of hours of playing this frankly disappointing game. but the sims is a little too scary and the settlement building here scratches a brain itch.
Tumblr media
so when i got the fuckin pie in a shed in a DLC i shrieked out loud in real life. this was before i googled the stats to include in this post and found out this location is bugged and always gives you the pie. so it FUCKIN goes. i briefly considered building a museum to it, but i'm still going to put it in a display case in my player housing so none of my companions eat it.
i don't even have a pic of it in the machine bc i wasn't fast enough, it's more like a little ritual gesture than actually expecting to get the pie at this point.
Tumblr media
-
making
a friendly reminder that my birthday is thursday :) and i am making a bigger fucking deal out of it than usual bc quite frankly i should not be alive. in lieu of commemorative gifts, donate to your local food bank or Native American tribe. more info here!
went into some sort of fugue state last night and wrote twenty pieces of mail. are the most overdue replies in the mail yet? heavens fucking no. usually outgoing mail goes in the toucan, but not this fat sheaf, which was very satisfying to hold. no fancy fanned-out pic bc many are going to beloved mutuals
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and woe! more red lentil soup be upon ye (do not @ me. the lower shelf is full of various frozen meats. also do not @ me about the margaritaville shrimps. they were two dollars). square containers when these fake tupperware die, i think, although it feels like soup should always be in a round container.

If you don't mind, what are your favourite show/movie OST's?
Haha, fun! For sure. I warn you now there will be a LOT of anime lmao, so in no particular order:
Goblin
youtube
This soundtrack was everything. It's actually the Damafever (RIP) ads with the music that piqued my interest in the first place.
Inuyasha
youtube
Say what you want about the show, but those intros and outros SLAPPED. Also the soundtrack as a whole ate for sure.
Samurai Champloo
youtube
Like...peak lo-fi hip-hop, and the animation for this anime was fresh, cool and slick, just like the soundtrack. I still listen to it when cooking to help me stay in the kitchen long enough to finish.
Psychopass Season 1 specifically
youtube
Season 1 was so tight, it's unfortunate that s2 was such a let down.
Tokyo Ghoul Root A specifically
youtube
This soundtrack SLAPS. This season was the beginning of the end, they were basically animating on vibes, but I loved it. It really helped me focus at work when that beat dropped, and I'm sorry but Glassy Sky is my top tier cooking song. Can go all in with my soprano vocal range lmao.
Attack on Titan (season 1 & 2)
youtube
I feel like these go without saying. S3 had some bangers too but both these seasons imo are untouchable.
Yuri On Ice
youtube
Once in a blue moon there comes along a show that blows my mind with the animation, and this was it, particularly the intro. I hate Mappa for not continuing it.
Touch Your Heart
youtube
this soundtrack is as cute as the show. I loved it.
Story of Yanxi Palace
youtube
This drama is one of my favourites ever, and the soundtrack doesn't disappoint.
Centaurworld
youtube
It's so funny, because people look at me crazy when I say I loved this show, but I DID. I'm generally not a musical girl, but I find that if I DO enjoy one, it's gonna be animated, and Centaurworld is one of my favourites. Especially Becky Apples.
Monthly Magazine Home
I've hit the max limit on videos because this site sucks, but I didn't LOVE this drama, but I liked the soundtrack for sure.
The Lion King
I think this goes without saying.
Tarzan (animated)
Phil Collins really went buck with this one.
John Wick 4
Them kids was DETERMINED to bust a dance even while he was shooting folks in the face. Only good music and good drugs could do that lol.
BTVS
I know pretty much every single The Bronze songs from the first 5 seasons lol. The soundtrack can gwan.
The Medici
I like listening to it while I work.
One Punch Man ( s1)
This show is so STUPID. I love it AND the soundtrack.
Spiderverse
Both movies. The soundtracks are great.
I'm CONFIDENT there's a lot more, movies especially, but these are the ones that live in my brain. This was fun!

Hello Good People and ardent Ardenites!
We wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your donations thus far to Season 3. We’re so excited to share Bea and Brenda’s further adventures later this year.
As we enter our final week of campaigning, we wanted to update you all on how the campaign is going, so you have the most transparent information on what you can expect from Arden going forward.
-So far, we have raised over $7300 in our campaign, putting us less than $700 away from being able to make a seventh episode. In conjunction with additional funds generated simultaneously during the campaign from ad sales and Patreon, this means we will be able to fund at least six episodes of Arden’s third season. While we had planned and scripted this season to be thirteen episodes, we will rewrite and trim the season to make sure you get the full story of the case of the missing painting “Long Summer’s Night”. Whether this story is told in six, seven, eight, or more episodes depends on how much we raise, but the complete case will be told.
-Our team of writers have already been paid from last year’s receipts on Patreon. All money raised from these sources will go to paying for production and post-production, including cast, directors, sound designers, and original music.
-Minisodes! We’d love to make them. But rest assured, our primary focus will be telling the case. As with everything else, how many minisodes we make depends on how much money we ultimately raise.
-Rewards: In case of any questions regarding our phrasing, let us be clear - when we said “All rewards will be fulfilled” in our update on the site, all we meant was to confirm that even if we didn’t reach our full $26,000 goal, we would of course be fulfilling all rewards. There was never any question of that in our minds, and making sure everyone who donates gets everything they paid for is our highest priority. All our digital rewards are available right now - and everyone who donates at $5 and above will be able to listen to episodes at least a week early, if not sooner!
-If you don’t have money now but want to help out later on, then our Patreon will have access to some of these rewards! If you sign up on the $2 and above level, you will get early episodes at the same time as IGG donors and access to our Discord. Higher Patreon tiers will get more of these rewards, like the soundtrack, digital dossier, and RPG, just to name a few, once the crowdfunding period is over. All Patreon and ad revenue raised after the crowdfund ends will go back into producing the season, so we’ll be able to have more recording days with actors and directors, more original music and maybe even record some additional minisodes or specials depending on how much is raised.
Speaking of rewards! Remember those cool prints and that WheyCon shirt? Wish you could better envision them on your wall and/or torso? We’re very excited to share mock-ups! See here pictures of the “I Survived WheyCon” T-shirt, and the posters (16"x16"). The linocut print, which we have shown previously, will be 4"x9".
Let’s finish this out strong, Good People! We have less than $700 to raise to make at least one more episode and five days to get there! As a small, independent creative team, every dollar counts and every dollar we raise goes back into Arden, whether that’s paying actors, directors or sound designers or fulfilling pledges. With your help, we can and will make this season the best it can be. Join us, won’t you, at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/arden-s3-midsummer-in-new-york-city#/.

My Woes on Carrd
It's not too rare for a piece of anything made for professional adults to consume is eaten up by a disproportionate percentage of fourteen year old girls.
But what if it was a website instead, made for businesses, and again, used mostly by the fourteen year old girls of the web? That's Carrd's reputation for you, other than as anyone's extended twitter about me page, a replacement for tumblr about autobiographies, it's the new and hip way to introduce yourself to the web.
Easy to use, drag and drop, place, write, style, done. That's your page! Kinda like a very easy version of Neocities. And again, this was made for...businesses. Professionals. People with things to do, products to sell. And then Twitter came along, realized that unlike their site, Carrd has no precious character limit to describe every bit of your personality and life and market yourself as a niche micro celebrity, and went at it. That's what Carrd is now, the about me's, the kinlists, the do not interact if pages.
It's basically a more lame, watered down, and sensitive as fuck Neocities.
So why does Carrd piss me off?
Well, it's mostly the ones who use it who piss me off, but there's so many things I could discuss involving the site itself. For one, there's a definite lack of freedom, as with all code-free drag n' drop editors of websites or games or whatnot. They're easy for normies to use, but at the cost of freedom. You have plenty at the disposal, sure, but the general layout and look of the site means that with what they give you, there's only a few designs that will look good, pleasing, or bring the eye towards the guy who made it. And you've probably seen them everywhere. Oh, look at it, it's just like a file viewer and a window, except pastel mint! And there's a Korean girl in the upper left corner! Sooooo pleasing, I guess. Oh, what about roman numerals instead of any descriptor to your pages? Now I'm sure to see what anime boy is literally you before finding if you want me to follow you or not. And don't get me started on the disaster known as scenecore or any -core for that matter. Webcore carrds are genuinely ironic.
But what if you want to do more than this? What if you...wanted a custom cursor? Or things falling in the background? Music on the page? More than 50 drag n' drops on your bio? Well, better coin up, sucker. Carrd Pro time. That's their subscription services that the cool and edgy kinnies use and share accounts with their friends and groomers to get all of that done, because simply embedding cool fancy code is paywalled. And having more than three sites. And not having a "Made with Carrd" thingadoo on the bottom of everything. And uploading content over 2MB or whatso. There's still a file size limit, even on the biggest tier. Fuck, even having a favicon is paylocked. And all of this comes for about twenty dollars a year, or if you want to get really fancy and go for an even bigger plan with bigger files and more sites and even more ways to build a website that you could learn from 2-4 hours on W3Schools, fifty a year. Some of this is useless knickknack for bragging rights, but some of it is literally just how websites should work. You can't download your Carrd without hucking up the fifty, by the way.
So basically, get limtied to a few styles because nothing else sucks, and pay 20 a year to have little sparkles when you click. What a wonderful way to make money.
Go back to why people who use it suck, Lobst.
So, about the people who use Carrd. The entire brain process of using Carrd to explain who you are has lead to an epidemic of forgetting your elementary-middle school internet safety lessons, and now, oversharing is the norm. I've seen people use NOT oversharing on your Carrd as a bullet point on a call out, mostly dealing with race, which is as expected knowing that I read Twitter callouts for fun. I've gathered a few examples here of the new norm of "who am I online?", where instead of introducing via talent and hobby, it's your identity points.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice how none of these really have a catch, a reason to be mutuals. Of course, they're on another page, but it still feels sad and silly that the first thing you see is enough information to doxx a few of these individuals. Did you know that you only need one's age, state, and first name to wittle down the results to around ten or so individuals. Swap around a few of those for other basic identifiers, you can still get a close view at a doxx. That's bad, to say the least.
Not to mention the sheer amount of non-identifying personal information in these bios. Using mental illness as a standpoint, a personality trait, a way to paint one in a romantic sadness, has become all too common. Hell, I did it a year ago, I'm still growing out of all of it, I'm anonymizing myself once more, disconnecting, and it's more than freeing.
But what if I still want to use Carrd?
Well, for one, share as little information as possible about yourself. Your basic information should only really be what you want to be called, and an age approximation. Do not make yourself vunerable to those who can take advantage of that. Fill it up with things you enjoy, so you can easily be found by others that share your hobbies or favorite bands. And for that matter, make sure your page is readable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Peak example of what to not do with a carrd. Oversharing, nobody needs to know that you wrote that fanfic, because that's disgusting, what the hell do your homework. And about the layout, even taking these screenshots made me need to get an Advil. I'm serious. The background is flashing neons, everything is a gif, sparkles, it's so ugly. There's more to it, and for the faint of heart, here it is. It's become an inside joke within my group.
As a small wrap-up, Carrd isn't to blame as a platform for a lot of the glaring issues with it, well, except the pricing plans, because that's bullshit. Most of the problems with Carrd falls on the user, and if you can avoid those problems, feel free. Or just make a Neocities for that extra freedom, and for a lot of effort. Actually, no, just make a Neocities, gives you great bragging rights as well.

You know how anime usually have a packaged animation that they slowly run the ending credits over? Like, they just repeat this one song and dance with each episode and it's up to you to choose whether to let it run or not. Like, maybe you groove with it, maybe you cool down with it, maybe it clashes with the tone of the episode's last scene and you skip it, maybe it's just boring and you skip it. point is, they're not going to surprise you across the anime's run. But, what if they were... non-predictable? What if each iteration of the ED did its own thing?
Tumblr media
Well, stop "what-if"ing. That literally just happened this fall. And I'm here to look back at each ED session and decide which I thought were cooler. The anime that dared to uproot convention like this is one that probably needs no introduction.
Tumblr media
...actually, was Pop Team Season 2 that popular? I didn't know it was being made until it had already started. Either way, I don't feel like writing any more intro spiel.
D-tier
Episode 4 - the one where they make faces at each other
Tumblr media
This is one of those classic Pop Team Epic absurdist moments where typical human concepts like "twist" or "punchline" are abandoned. The visual humor of watching them go off-model wears off once you realize they're looping back to reuse faces. But whereas this spurt of oddity lasted (I presume) for only four little panels in the original comic, the anime makes you gawk at them for 60 seconds before you can confirm that, yes, that's the whole skit. At least the rerun makes itself useful and decides to play outtake footage of a previous skit over the credits.
(No clue where to fit this into the summary but: Why are Popuko & Pipimi supplemented by chiptune noises that all acutely sound like SFX found in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga? M&L players, back me up.)
Episode 5 - upon which the anime's stock market value mysteriously drops
I enjoyed the company of Pop Team Epic B-side, one of the few aspects distinguishing this anime run from its original season, which acted out your ""ordinary"" PTE comedy, but replaced our ""heroines"" with lavishly animated bishonen counterparts. So, feelings were definitely felt when Pipihara informed Popuoka that their segment had, apparently, been cancelled. The latter responds by tossing a grenade at the conveniently nearby Takeshobo HQ, then looks back with a subdued smile, as the building explodes off-screen. The frame freezes on this visually arresting moment, and the credits sequence begins.
Tumblr media
As a sad piano version of the ending song played and the screen slowly filled up with images of the boys' past moments (all five of them), I slowly succumbed to the realization that they probably weren't joking about the cancellation.
Tumblr media
I saw B-side as the antithesis to the long reign of Bob Epic Team. By countering the uncanny off-model antics with unexpected off-brand sexiness, Pop Team Epic was instilled with balance. Seeing the new blood get sniped out of the sky, my chemistry with Bobunemimimmi dropped from tolerance to resentment. I no longer possess the moral high ground with which to point at people who complain about a network cancelling a cartoon they were rooting for while sustaining one they don't like.
Episode 9 - the one that got away
Tumblr media
The last skit of Episode 9 opens on Popuko seemingly racing an R/C car - a very Popuko thing to partake in. But eventually, she runs out of stamina, so I guess she was only human after all. The ending music starts as the car drives off into the sunset, and then barely anything else happens until the chorus, which triggers a slideshow of the toy car visiting sites around the world. I feel like the bulk of this one's intrigue is trying to guess what this moment was like in the original comic. Maybe the whole travelogue sequence was adapted from one sole panel, for instance that panel could have been the image of Popuko receiving a post card we see at the end. Or maybe the anime crew made up that whole part, and it originally just ended on Popuko staring at the horizon.
C-tier
Episode 1 - the one thriving off of port priority
Tumblr media
This scene is a bizarre cap off to a bizarre skit with a bizarre setup, bizarre punchline, and bizarre conclusion. It's also just a 60-second-long animated image that slowly zooms out. This may not be a great ED (they didn't even bother to upload this one to the official channel), but it's automatically a good first-episode ED, because it got to be the first to introduce my ears to the soulful triumph that is Nakayo Peas (is that what it's called? The English subtitles translates the song's refrain as "we're just two peas in a pod," but a later ED implies the ピース refers to 'peace,' and then I also saw an outside source that called it "Nakayopiece"...) I don't know of the comedy in Pipimi staring at a picture of herself pulling a super rare on her phone, while sitting at a window revealing the most beautiful ocean sunset of the anime season, but it sure does complement well with the wistful piano into techno breakdown of the ending theme.
No-Subject-tier
Episode 7 - the most bespoke scene of a man heading to the public restroom in anime history
Tumblr media
This ending is hard to sort because a lot of the cool things about it are just an extension of the cool things about the episode itself. Episode 7 not only dedicates the entire 11 minutes to telling the story of Hellshake Yano's fall and comeback, but forgoes all animation and motion graphics in favor of recording two guys playing with notebooks using as few cuts as possible, with even the OP and ED using original sequences. If there's something the end credits have going exclusively for it, it's the way it handles the credits varying slightly between original and rerun. They shot two takes of the journey to the restroom, and in the second, a cut-up page is flipped over the cast list replacing the names accordingly.
██████-tier
Episode 11 - the one you've probably heard about already
Tumblr media
So, have you seen the works of Kékéflipnote? That guy who draws the funny-cute animations of animals using an animation tool exclusive to a handheld gaming system? Well, someone at King Records clearly had, because we got an ending sequence depicting Pop & Pipi as Kéké's trademark blob-pigeons (among other creatures), engaging in Kéké's trademark buttery-smooth bouncy-dances, all the while presumably flipping the camera off. Furthering the homage, Nakayo Peas sports yet another rearrangement, peppered with synth arpeggios* which sound awfully similar to Robot Rock by Daft Punk, a track used in one of Kéké's more popular videos.
*Did I use either of these words properly here?
youtube
If you already know all this and have witnessed ED11 for yourself, you may be questioning why this isn't higher on the list. Well, while I acknowledge what an insane crossover of worlds this was, I also have this petty annoyance with its execution. I just personally think that maybe they shouldn't have sunk all that time and talent into one joke if they were just going to, y'know, censor it out of existence?
By combining the time-forged wholesome aes of funny baguette Flipnote guy with the vulgar slant of kuso manga/anime, this animation holds the potential to revitalize the shock the world originally felt upon witnessing the sight of two (vaguely) moe school girls 🖕🏻deucing🖕🏻 the camera with comically large, anatomically menacing hands. Also, I heard a claim that the ending song's cryptic lyrics about "a game you can play with your fingers" is a disguised reference to the Gesture, so if true, this animation is very in sync with its BGM. But this show should know well that Japanese television broadcasters have feelings about deuces.
Tumblr media
They should also know well that said feelings don't extend very far beyond overlaying a dinky pixel effect that doesn't leave much up to imagination. So why, then, did the animator decide to instead erect giant black boxes that cover their entire arms? Besides the opinion that that's distracting, there's the fact that anything could be behind these boxes. Consider the following: do Popu-ké and Pipi-geon have KKFNesque, doodly thin arms? Or do they follow the PPTP way and use hyperrealistic human digits? What if they're not doing that at all? Maybe the birbs have nipples and that was what had to be ██████ed? What if the animals are, uhhh, are waving dildos around? And how would any of the above apply to a snake? I Guess We'll Never Know!!
Tumblr media
I remember staring at the screen in disbelief, solemnly waiting for the credits to confirm that, yes, they did get the real Kékéflip to animate this bit. All that I could think about was how people all over the web would be talking about how cool it was that this happened, and how no one would feel the same way I did. I kept thinking about it, past the setting of the sun and into the next day. Whenever my mind wandered, I would hear the war chant set in again: Nakayo peeeeeeeaaaas, nakayo peeeeas, peeeeas, pi-pi- peas... I have used this word frequently in my life, but considering the place it mentally put me in, 仲良ピース (Dance Rock Mix) is most deserving of the term "Cursed."
Also, this anime partnering with a French animator reminds me that the JAPON MiGNON segment wasn't able to return this season, which by extension reminds me that its "replacement" Pop Team B-side died an early death GRAAAAFLKGJHDSK
B-tier
Episode 2 - The calm after a storm
Tumblr media
This ending caps off episode 2's main story, which places the girls into a giant robot battle for the future of the anime or something like that. Not much visually to write home about, but for a one-use sequence to a parody of a mecha-drama, there could be a lot less. If this were the full-time ending to a real series, I would still respect the seq showing the internals of Biggus McHugeGuy for its unique-while-still-animation-efficient-ness. The music is also tasteful, starting minimalistic and letting the wistful vocals shine, before giving way to dauntless guitar riffing. Though, when I first watched this, my reaction was more like, "It's acoustic now?? But I was looking forward to the cool techno breakdown!"
Episode 12 - wake up babe, Shouta Aoi exercises are starting
Tumblr media
So, uh, the season finale, am I right? They just... directed an entire late-game episode of a practically imaginary live-action tokusatsu series. And just when you've forgotten what you came for, and gotten unironically invested in the world of Endless L.O.V.E., the show leans over and mutters, "On your left." And then out of nowhere, an entire horde of Popukos and Pipimis from across the season's run show up to help our heroes (heralded by a triumphant marching band performace of Pop Team Epic's original theme song)! It was the most legendary moment of the anime season... up until they actually started battling, at which point the anime, in one final act of trolling the audience, elects to merely move around stiff .SVGs of the characters knocking a bunch of enemy mooks around, with "eco-friendly anime 😋" printed at the top of the screen.
Thankfully, after all was said and done, the final end roll, in its own way, did the concept a little more justice. Similar to the last episode of Season 1, Shouta Aoi takes the spotlight and does a little song and dance, but this time, he is backed up by (multiple variations of) Popuko and Pipimi, and they're actually animated this time! Hands down, Aoi Shouta Taisou is the most wholesome display to come out of this 4-D prank of an anime. It even takes its idea to a clever conclusion by including designs for Pop+Pipi never before seen - to Shouta Aoi's bewilderment.
Episode 3 - Pop Team Epic will become real in three minutes.
Tumblr media
In this one, two mascot costumes of Popuko and Pipimi take a tour of King Records' building. It's demonstrated that Popuko is such an aggresive gal that even her hairdo can't traverse a closed space without getting in a standoff against any bypassers or protusions in the wall.
When I saw this ED, I was under the conception that this was going to be the ED for the season proper, with the first two being special exceptions. (Specifically, various anime hide away their proper OP or ED on the first episode, and episode 2 was clearly a one-off for the bit - imagine Kaguya-sama's first season, but if the special Chika ED was placed even earlier.) And I was completely fine with that. This sequence may not be at the top of this list, but if each of these entries had an entire season each to reign over, things would be different. It's unique and charming enough to be repeatedly entertaining (at least moreso than last season's Poppy Pappy Day), but not so weird and specific that it becomes exhausting.
I missed this when I first watched the episode, but the rerun features totally different footage, of the two visiting Takeshobo instead. Personally more of a fan of the female vocal version, it has a better excitement curve.
Episode 8 - the one where... where the... the..when..... uhhhhhm...
Tumblr media
I mean, it's certainly, uhhh... the mixed media is so mixed that it... there are copious amounts of untranslated text, which... the arrangement...bass slaps surprisingly... every chord is somehow the wrong one, creating a sense of... 90% of the footage is different between versions, tricking me into a false Mandela effect..... HOT CAT.
Okay, as much as I want to talk about this one, it's a lot harder since I have no idea what I'm looking at. Like, this must be a homage to something like with ED11, right? there's no way a PTE staff member just felt like making it look specifically Like That, with no precedent. I wish I knew of the context (or at least could read all the on-screen text), because I do not know how to thread my thoughts on this otherwise. It trippy.
A-tier
Episode 10 - the reveal that nature is healing
Tumblr media
The tenth ending uses a series of watercolor murals to depict the duo fooling around in some savanna - amongst a gaggle of fauna that prove Okawa bkub's iconic eyes have the potential to make for some freakin' cute critters, and not just the ugly-cute critters that are our protags. Its ending theme, which is now more relaxed than it already was, obtaining the aspect of a lazy river when the original already felt like waves rippling on a beach shore, is arguably the least necessary rearrangement of the bunch, but I'm not complaining.
But of course, there's something more about this safari that made me put it so high up. What's the first animal you see in it? An otter with a duplicitous grin. It looks just like the one in a skit from this very episode! And after that? There's Unyumaru, the thingy also featured earlier! And this jungle setting in general... it's clearly connecting to the nature documentary that centers the episode's Pop Team Story! (Said story kind of loses interest in the "let's import some hyenas with Popuko eyes before this ecosystem collapses in on itself" plot and turns into some sort of quiz parody instead, so it's nice to see how the biome has been doing since.)
Tumblr media
Whereas every other credits sequence is connected to whatever came directly before it (like the 2nd), or welded onto the last skit of the ep (like #4), or it just does its own thing (like 8), End-roll № 10 has the innovative idea to draw from the events of its respective episode. And by innovative, I mean that a similar effect can be peeped in multiple video game credit sequences, and the endings of every other animated feature film ever. and probably also a handful of anime that ended their runs. But not one that ended a random one of its episodes! Episode 10 capitalizes on Season 2's unique ED format in a way that the others don't quite, creating a cute moment that isn't just "The credits that roll during skit 𝒙" or "The experimental short played at the end of Episode 𝒚," but truly "The Credits Sequence of PTE2 Episode 10."
Episode 6 - the one Peer Gynt was afraid to diss
My opinion on which ED is my fave flip-flops between the previously discussed and this about-to-be-discussed. But, if asked this question in public, I would find explaining the appeal of essentially four image pans inefficient compared to presenting the comedy gold that is Ending 6.
youtube
All cards on the table, I love the animations of Asami Ike. She's only responsible for three bits across both seasons, but they were so revolutionary that I failed to notice there were only three before I was handed her Sakugabooru page. (Mini ranking, why not: this, then the shark short from season 1, and then the giraffe short at the top🦒)
And I love how hard the components of this scene devote themselves to the comedic timing. We get thirty seconds of Popuko acting like she's about to spit fire in the booth, before pulling up a flute, and then just as the song is about to hit the bass- the music cuts off. The art style shifts. The background turns bright yellow. Popuko absolutely holds onto this one note. She seems to get less on-model with each passing frame. The on-screen credits have gone completely scarce in this credits sequence. And then these little dudes crawl out of a hole in the ground and start throwing it back?? (Special shout-out to the official subs for not giving away the switch: the usual "just two peas in a pod" line is displayed in full, for all of one second. it would have been more honest to type only as much as, say, "We're just two--" but honesty wouldn't be as funny here.) The raw power of this bit's execution becomes a lot more impressive if you see the strip it was based on:
Tumblr media
Wow!! That's not funny at all! The boys clearly put an insane amount of elbow grease into transforming this pile of ink and screentones into a brand new legend! If you think about it, the whole ethos of this anime series is based in striving to put a bit too much Time and Effort into adapting the world's most nonsensical manga. It's motivational, kinda.
Okay, goodnight, folks!
Originally, I was going to be stumped as to what to write at the end of this, but... you know, every time I came back to this listicle of a post in my drafts, I would see the visage of one miss Makima, backlit by the heavens.
Tumblr media
I feel like there's a higher-than-usual chance my fakeout opening actually worked. Up to and during the time Pop Team was once more on air, I was seeing this woman's visage all over the place. Not so much for the girls. If you were to move a few strings of circumstance, I may simply have never found out that PTE was back. When Poptepipic was first unleashed upon television, it was unlike anything man had seen before. But when it received a second wave, its quirks were just what we expected from the famous 'kuso-anime.' PTE2 didn't do very much to subvert expectations. Maybe that's why this run didn't make as many waves. There were, like, how many new elements in this season? You had B-Side, whose fate I've already gone at length about. There was the way each episode had a collab with Square Enix or some sort of advertisement.. the episode previews for a nonexistent anime were replaced with voice actors chattering.. The most ambitious season 2 got was the two episodes they offered up entirely to a single bit each. (I feel like Gal and Dino did a better job of being a Pop Team Epic 2, or at least a cooler one.) This is why I hold the EDs so dearly - it was a mechanic that broke from both its predecessor and from general anime convention. What a shame that they ended up unveiling this the same season that a more popular anime pulled the same stunt but slightly better.
...Anyways, see you in six months when I post a ranking of Chainsaw Man's EDs, and go on a tangent about how your favorite artistic collaboration filled me with existential horror!

TRON LEGACY SOUNDTRACK DEREZZED REMIX CRACK
While the Academy Awards overlooked the duo's hybrid electronic/orchestral score, it became the first soundtrack in five years to crack Billboard's pop Top 10, and sold over 70,000 copies in its first week of release, which is none too shabby a number these days. The novice film composers deftly paid homage to Wendy Carlos' score to the original TRON, judiciously incorporating it into their work while carving out their own territory with a mix of ambient sounds, techno-style synthpop and traditional orchestral motifs. But that's just the case of Daft Punk's acclaimed score to Tron: Legacy. It's not often here at The Second Disc that we get to report on a reissue project devoted to a release that's only three months old.

The navigation at the top allowed me to quickly find the information I was looking for. I liked how the site adapts perfectly to whatever device I'm using; it looks great on both my computer and phone.
Beyond just the website design, I was glad they had a helpful blog with valuable tips and advice about video editing and growing your business. The Vidchops team has put a lot of thought into making the entire user experience as smooth and efficient as possible.
Vidchops Pricing
Tumblr media
For the most current and accurate pricing information, please visit Vidchops' website to review their latest pricing plans.
Vidchops takes a unique approach to presenting its pricing and service offerings.
Instead of listing an affordable price and all the details upfront on their website, they encourage potential customers to engage directly through a lead capture form to explore the full scope of their video editing subscription and pricing structure.
They must submit their contact information and connect with the Vidchops team to get the complete picture.
Looking at the information Vidchops provides, their core video editing plans include the following:
Vidchops Weekly: $495 per month (4 videos, 3 revisions each)
Vidchops Pro: $995 monthly (8-10 videos, unlimited video editing requests, dedicated project manager).
Both plans offer benefits like a full account manager, dedicated editor, fast turnaround, and access to royalty free music and stock footage.
In addition to their unlimited editing service, Vidchops also offers a unique YouTube Helper add-on. This adds-on done-for-you services like custom thumbnails, titles, tags, and more to help optimize your unlimited videos for the YouTube algorithm.
Weekly Helper: $225/month (4 videos)
Unlimited Helper: $395/month (8-12 videos)
Double Helper: $595/month (16-20 videos)
After reviewing user feedback, I noticed that some have mentioned potential hidden costs for extras like captions. So, ensuring you understand the full editing workload of what's included when signing up is essential.
Vidchops' unique approach to video creation means you'll need to be prepared to directly engage with their editing team to get the complete picture of pricing and service tiers. However, their range of plans, from core video editing to the YouTube-focused Helper add-on, seems designed to cater to the needs of various video creators and budgets.
Vidchops Core Services
Vidchops is all about making video editing easy and efficient for their clients. Let's dive into the core features of their video editing service:
Turnaround time is lightning fast. Vidchops promises to complete all video edits within 1-2 days, and you get unlimited revisions, so you can keep tweaking and polishing videos for your social media platforms until they're perfect. That kind of responsiveness and flexibility is hugely valuable.
To keep the process organized, Vidchops provides a user-friendly project management portal. Clients can submit video requests and editing instructions, give feedback, and track the progress of their edits, all in one centralized place. This transparency ensures you're always in the loop on the status of your projects.
Vidchops offers features designed specifically for video creators. They can add text overlays, lower thirds, transitions, and basic motion graphics to make your videos more engaging and professional-looking. They also have access to a library of royalty-free music, stock footage and audio to supplement your raw footage.
Beyond just the technical side, Vidchops also markets itself as a video strategy expert. They say they'll coach clients on best practices for thumbnails, titles, and tags to optimize your videos for YouTube's algorithm. It's an excellent added value for those who want to grow their YouTube channel.
Through its project management tools, Vidchops has built a comprehensive video editing service emphasizing speed, flexibility, and client empowerment. If you're a video creator looking to streamline your editing workflow, it could be worth exploring their offerings in more detail.
Vidchops Editing Approach
A few things stand out when you look at the editing samples on the Vidchops website.
Their style is fast-paced and focused on staying visually engaging throughout the video. There's a good mix of tight cuts, text overlays, and subtle motion graphics that keep the viewer's attention.
The editing also seems geared toward creating informative, talking-head-style videos. The pacing and graphics complement and emphasize the main speaker rather than distract them. This approach aligns well with the needs of many YouTubers, marketers, and small business owners looking to create polished, professional-looking videos.
We tried Vidchops ourselves, and the overall quality of Vidchops' editing is solid, if not exceptional. Their editing was sometimes basic, with room for more creative flair. However, the deal is that the edits are clean and well-timed, enhancing the final video content.
It's also worth noting that Vidchops' editing capabilities have some limitations. They don't offer complex 2D or 3D animations, and voice-over work is not included. Their services may not be perfect if your videos require heavily stylized graphics, music videos, or intricate post-production.
For the average video creator looking to take their content up a notch with fast turnaround, reliable editing, and a few visual flourishes, Vidchops delivers a solid product. Ensure the style aligns with your specific needs and expectations before signing up.
Communication and Turnaround Times
One of the critical aspects of the Vidchops service is its focus on transparent and efficient communication with clients. Based on the information they provide, the process seems pretty straightforward:
When you sign up, you're assigned a dedicated video editor who will be your main point of contact throughout the project. This editor will work with you to understand your needs and preferences, ensuring they deliver videos that match your brand and style.
Vidchops uses a custom online portal to facilitate this collaboration. Here, you can submit your video request, provide feedback and notes, and track the status of your edits. The portal allows for real-time communication, with the ability to leave timestamped comments for revisions.
Regarding revisions, Vidchops promises a fast turnaround, with just 1-2 days for the initial edit and 1 day for any requested changes. This speed and responsiveness are crucial for video creators who must keep their content production moving quickly.
Based on user reviews, Vidchops is known for sticking to timelines. Clients report prompt communication from their dedicated editors, and the revision process to create videos is generally smooth and efficient.
Of course, there are always exceptions, and some users have mentioned experiencing delays or feeling like their editor didn't fully understand their requirements. The feedback suggests Vidchops prioritizes maintaining clear, reliable communication throughout editing.
This personalized attention and project management level is a crucial differentiator for Vidchops. It allows video creators to stay in the loop, provide input, and ensure the final product matches their vision without micromanaging the process.
Tumblr media
Vidchops review on Yelp
Regarding the reputation and reliability of Vidchops, the user reviews paint a mixed picture. Let's take a closer look:
On the positive side, many clients appreciate the core value proposition that Vidchops offers. They highlight the convenience of having a dedicated video editor handle all the tedious editing tasks, freeing up the creator's time to focus on other aspects of their business.
The fast turnaround time and unlimited revisions are also frequently cited as significant benefits.
Some users have reported issues with the editing quality and consistency. A few reviews mention videos coming back "under-edited" or not aligning with their specific style and preferences despite the personalized onboarding process.
There have also been a handful of complaints about missed deadlines or communication problems with their assigned editor.
That said, Vidchops stands behind its service with a 14-day money-back guarantee. This provides a safety net for customers who are unsatisfied and want to get back their investment.
So, while the overall reputation of Vidchops seems solid, it's clear they have yet to achieve perfection. The fast-paced nature of their video production model may contribute to the occasional quality control issue or missed deadline. Still, their willingness to make things right through refunds and revisions is undoubtedly a point in their favor.
The reliability of Vidchops may come down to the specific editor you're matched with and how closely they can understand and execute your unique video style and requirements. However, the company's commitment to customer satisfaction through its guarantee and revision policy does provide some reassurance.
Vidchops Alternative
Vidpros
Vidpros is another video editing service that may be worth considering as an alternative to Vidchops. Unlike Vidchops, Vidpros takes a more streamlined and transparent approach to video editing.
Vidpros offers a Fractional Video Editing Service, which allows clients to purchase a specific portion of an editor's time each month.
This gives you more control over your own videos during the editing process and ensures you get dedicated attention rather than having to compete for editing time.
One of Vidpros' standout features is its focus on transparent and efficient communication. They use a dedicated project chat within their customer portal, making it easy for you to stay in touch with your assigned editor. Vidpros also integrates with Frame.io, a video proofing tool, giving you a seamless way to provide feedback and track revisions.
Vidpros is upfront about the services they do and don't offer. They excel at things like color correction, motion graphics, and accessing stock footage.
This transparency helps set realistic expectations from the start. Regarding pricing, Vidpros takes a different approach than Vidchops' subscription model.
Their Fractional Video Editing Service starts at a flat rate of $1,000 per month, which includes 2 hours of dedicated editor time per workday, unlimited video requests, and extras like stock assets and AI-generated captions.
While the Vidchops plans may seem more affordable on paper, the Vidpros model allows for more customization and potentially better value, depending on your specific video editing needs and volume. And with Vidpros' 14-day risk-free trial, you can test the service firsthand before fully committing.
Vidpros presents an intriguing alternative to Vidchops, focusing on streamlined communication, transparent services, and a flexible pricing structure. If you're looking for a high-touch, personalized video editing experience, it's worth exploring Vidpros.
Capping Off
At the end of the day, Vidchops offers a solid video editing service that can help streamline your workflow. Their fast turnaround, dedicated editors, and project management tools are valuable assets for busy video creators. However, there are some potential drawbacks regarding quality control and the need for more transparency around pricing and services.
If you're looking for an alternative that provides a more personalized, high-touch experience, Vidpros could be worth considering. Their fractional editing model, transparent service offerings, and efficient communication tools set them apart.
To help you make the best decision for your video editing needs, check out our in-depth comparison blog breaking down Vidchops vs. Vidpros. Weighing the pros and cons of each service can ensure you find the right fit to take your video content creation to the next level.

How to Start a Podcast: Beginner’s Guide to Getting Started - Social Pilot
Part 1 l Part 2 l Part 3 l Part 4 l Part 5 l Part 6 l Part 7 l Part 8 l Part 9 l Part 10 l Part 11 l Part 12 l Part 13 l Part 14 l Part 15 l Part 16
The seventeenth article Sydney gave me is by Social Pilot, which seems to be a catch all for people who use social media to promote businesses.
Planning Stage
Choose a topic
The article recommends to think if you can talk about the episode happily for over a hundred episodes, and if you'll still be excited in six months or a year.
2. Name
It should relate to your topic and make people click on it.
3. Format
Interview? Solo? Co-hosted? One will suit your show better in the beginning, but you're welcome to change it down the line.
4. Title episodes
You should sum up the main point of the episode here, while at the same time encouraging newcomers to listen.
5. Release schedule and length of episodes
Consistency to your schedule is key- you want to let people depend on your podcast so they can incorporate yours into their routine. In the beginning even more so because you'll have to make some kind of schedule to do everything you have to get done before the episode comes out.
And for the length, have a goal to shoot for without obsessing over it to the second.
6. Art
Keep in mind that this will most likely be the most eye-grabbing thing about your podcast. Your name is just words on a screen, the art will be colored.
7. Intro, outro, music
These are optional, but it tends to elevate your show a bit.
8. Scripts
Word for word, bulleted, or just a written plan will all do. Your show needs to be planned at least a little so it can succeed.
9. Equipment and software
A microphone is necessary, as well as something to record your voice and allow you to edit it later. The article has a few options, so you can check them out.
10. Record
Your plan for the episode will help with this part. Just take a deep breath and talk. If you make a mistake, pause for a few seconds and do the sentence over.
11. Hosting site
You need an RSS feed to submit to directories, so this is where your hosting site comes in. You upload the final audio file to your hosting site, and after you hook it up to directories after your first episode, the directories automatically publish as you upload.
12. Promote
This article recommends a website. This lays out more steps for promotion.
13. Monetization
Sponsorship, affiliates, merchandise, and subscription tiers go under this umbrella.

DREAMS OF DRACULA - Review
Tumblr media
DATES: Opens Oct. 4th thru Nov. 11th, 2023 COMPANY: Bucketlisters, Never More, & Musica THEATER: Musica NYC, 637 W 50th St, NYC ACTORS: Scotty Jacobson, Francesco La Macchia, Isa Segall, Lucas Rodriguez, Emma Ivy, Savannah Gaillard, Paul Pecorino, Grant Lowenstein, John Trindl, Kelsey Rondeau, Amina Theis, Levi Kempf, and many more CREW: Written & Directed by Jonathan Albert & Nicole Coady; Original Music by Dian Shuai; Choreographer Arianne Meneses; Production and Scenic Design by Iron Bloom Creative Production; Costume Design by Taylor Lombardino; Lighting Design by Phillip W. Powers – LUNA LUX; Sound Design by Lawrence Schober; Makeup Design by Cali Cuneo. Official Site: dreamsofdracula.com
SYNOPSIS: DREAMS OF DRACULA: AN IMMERSIVE MASQUERADE EXPERIENCE transpires on two floors, in six rooms that allows guests to choose their own journey through history’s most famous vampire, Dracula, based on the Bram Stoker classic. The experience offers guests a mix of immersive theater, dance, and indulgent masquerade. Woven throughout the show are elements of dreams that can allow guests to encounter having their own dreams analyzed, lend their hand in co-writing a gothic ghost story, or have a poem composed in tribute to their beauty. Guests of legal drinking age can begin their experience in the Oscar Wilde Salon to imbibe in a variety of decadent themed cocktails where they will be entertained by Oscar and his very wild friends! A custom Dreams of Dracula app built by Shivoo Studios also allows guests to further interact with their dreams as an augmented reality post experience after the show. The VIP program begins at 5:45 pm and concludes at 9:00 pm in the Oscar Wilde Salon.
REVIEW: As we begin the Halloween season, there are a variety of haunted attractions and horror theme plays to spice up your fall haunts. There are limited more adult experiences, and if you’ve already experience “Sleep No More” or “Speakeasy Magic,” then DREAMS OF DRACULA: AN IMMERSIVE MASQUERADE EXPERIENCE is an exciting evening of immersive theater on the westside of New York City.
I am not usually a fan of dance, but the main program, “M Cycle One – Castle Dracula” & “Cycle 2 – The Virgin & The Vampire,” are an engaging mix of theater, dance, and pantomime. It transpires on the second floor that features a larger dance space. The story transitions through several rooms as it interprets the tale of Dracula. There is limited dialogue, however Renfield gets to rant. Added into the tale are two angels who witness the tragic events and on occasion whisper into guests’ ears to guide them through the tale. Even if you are not well immersed in Stoker’s novel, the story here is easy to follow. The costumes and musician choices add to the hypnotic and sensual feel to the experience. The masks provided to the guests and the requested black attire add to the voyeuristic experience, evoking the spirit of Kubrick’s “Eyes Wide Shut.”
The Dracula cycles are performed for the duration of the time blocks. However, there are other experiences going on in the salon and a couple of other rooms. I was enchanted by the Dracula production so I only stole a few moments away to see what was going on elsewhere. Lord Byron, Mary Shelly, Oscar Wilde, Freud, a fortune teller, and a few possessed characters haunted the other spaces offering guests other tales and experiences.
Tickets will be available exclusively through Bucket Listers. Full ticket and show run details available here. I would recommend purchasing a tier that provides access for all Dreams of Dracula cycles performed that evening and a few other perks that add to the evening’s experience. Likewise, that tier provides early access to The Oscar Wilde Salon, designed with a lot of atmosphere and sets the tone for the evening. There are four signature cocktails, I enjoyed the Voodoo Punch and the Whisky Smash is tasty.
There is an app, created by Shivoo Studios, that adds another element to the evening’s experience. It permits guests to interact with their dreams as an augmented reality post experience after the show in the salon area. I played with it a bit and found it a novel idea to give those who are unable to put down their phones something to do.
For those not familiar with an immersive experience, other than “The Un-Dead” (General Admission) tier and unlike a haunted attraction, you are not rushed through and allowed to become fully immersed in this experience. The show is all about creating a complex ambience and does not rely on twists and turns to hide jump scares. The dancers and performers are excellent, hypnotic and compelling. They announce that they want you to explore, and the angels offer some limited guidance. I would have liked to have known something more about the other experiences offered and where they might be located within the space. If I had known in advance, I would have arrived for the earlier start and spent the night fully experiencing all the production has to offer. Considering the price of a Broadway ticket, DRACULA: AN IMMERSIVE MASQUERADE EXPERIENCE provides a more compelling, participatory experience. Would definitely recommend it as a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season with a group of friends or your significant other.

[ad_1] This walk in Regent’s Park and Camden Town is 4.5 miles long and explores the vibrant market, London’s prettiest park and the artistic side of the city’s inner north. Our self-guided walking route includes a map and instructions. LAST UPDATE: 10 Jan 2024 Anywhere We Roam is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn a small affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks for your support - Paul & Mark. This walk is a great way to explore the area north of central London, a vibrant neighbourhood known for eclectic markets, live music, old-school pubs, and beautiful green spaces. Throughout 4.5 miles it passes through Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill before descending into Chalk Farm and then Camden. You’ll be rewarded with an excellent viewpoint over London, a charming high street, cool street art, and plenty of diverse street food to try. You can simply walk the route and be done in just over two hours or take your time and enjoy half a day in this exciting part of London. ABOUT THIS WALK Our Regent’s Park and Camden Town walk collects the prettiest parts of London’s most regal park, plus Primrose Hill, on the way through to Camden Town. The walk can be done any time of year but is prettiest in late spring when the parks are lush and green, and bursting with flowers. If you’d like to stroll along the canal more than in the park, visit our Regent’s Canal walk. MAP | REGENTS PARK & CAMDEN WALK Use our map to navigate this Regent’s Park and Camden Town Walk so you don’t miss any of the sights. >> WHERE TO START? We recommend starting at Regents Park station (or Baker Street station) and finishing at Camden tube station. HOW LONG? The walk is 4.5 miles (7.2 kilometres) and, if you walk without stopping, it will take just over 2 hours. There’s plenty to see and places to stop along the way, so allow at least half a day. One of the key attractions on the walk is Camden Market, so check out the Camden Market opening times before starting. CAMDEN TOWN READYMONEY DRINKING FOUNTAIN START / REGENT’S PARK STATION Exit Regents Park tube station, walk around Park Square and enter Regent’s Park. There are several paths criss-crossing the park, but we have picked our favourite route. Follow the route on the map above and you’ll pass the following sights. REGENT’S PARK The formal Italian Garden is constantly changing with seasonal bedding plants arranged around walkways with elaborate urns and tiered fountains. It runs alongside the Boardwalk which has lines of attractive trees on either side. Next up, head into the inner circle to Queen Mary’s Garden where you’ll find a Rose Garden, a Japanese Garden Island, and the Triton and Dryads Fountain. Continue following the route on the walking map above as it winds around the boating lake and crosses the playing fields which are packed with footballers on a summer’s day. Passing the edge of London Zoo the path crosses the Outer Circle, heads over a bridge above Regent’s Canal, and exits the park. PRIMROSE HILL Opposite (to the right) is Primrose Hill. Cross the road and head diagonally up the hill to its grassy summit. Like Regent’s Park, Primrose Hill was once a great chase appropriated by Henry VIII. In his time, it was a lively place with murders, duels and prize fights occurring on its slopes. Today, it is one of only 6 protected viewpoints in London and it looks out over the City, Central London and the London Eye. PRIMROSE HILL VIEW PRIMROSE HILL REGENT’S PARK ROAD Drop down off the summit towards Primrose Hill village and turn left on Regent’s Park Road. Also known as Primrose Hill High Street it passes through the heart of this very pretty neighbourhood. Brunch spots spill onto the pavement. The Queen’s pub is a great stop for a pint; it’s Bagels! sees locals queueing for the latest batch; and Lemonia has been serving Greek lunches for generations. Peer right just before crossing the railway tracks and you’ll see brightly painted houses lining the street.
After crossing the bridge, turn right to stay on Regent’s Park Road, then right again onto Chalk Farm Road. REGENT’S PARK ROAD CHALK FARM ROAD As you walk down Chalk Farm Road towards Camden Market, you’ll pass the Roundhouse. This iconic music venue is housed in a former engine shed. We were lucky enough to see Amy Winehouse in this remarkable venue. Check roundhouse.org.uk to see what’s on. A little further along on your left, have a look down Harmood Street (to see street art painted on the walls) and Hartland Street (for more brightly painted houses). The entrance to Camden Market is on the other side of Chalk Farm Road. CHALK FARM ROAD ROUNDHOUSE CAMDEN MARKET The largest, and in our opinion, most interesting market in London is well worth exploring. A melting pot of music, fashion, experiences and food, the market is split into 4 quarters: Camden Stables Market Camden Lock Market Camden Hawley Wharf Market Camden Buck Street Market It’s easy enough to just amble round the different sections and re-join our self-guided walk later but we have planned a route that we think captures all the best bits. Follow it on the map above. CAMDEN STABLES MARKET Enter through the large black gates signed towards two massive robots and you’ve entered Stables Market. It got its name from the saddlers’ workshops, horse hospital and stables that were tucked under the arches of the railway viaduct. Today this labyrinth of cobbled lanes and alleyways running both overground and underground, is lined with all sorts of stalls and experiences. Don’t miss the statue to Amy Winehouse, the Hansel & Gretel Store (selling ice cream and candy), and Saddle Row covered in red, yellow, and orange umbrellas. CAMDEN STABLESL MARKET AMY STATUE CAMDEN STABLES MARKET HANSEL & GRETEL ICE CREAM CAMDEN LOCK MARKET Next up is Camden Lock Market. Set on the edge of Regents Canal, the large open air West Yard has street food from all over the world. Pick from Chinese dumplings to Korean buns; Indian curries to Wagyu burgers. If you fancy something sweet, try the elaborately decorated donuts stall or the Churros and chocolate stall.   The three-floor brick buildings surrounding West Yard sell quality craft items and artisan products.   CAMDEN LOCK CAMDEN HAWLEY WHARF MARKET Leaving Camden Lock market, cross over Camden High Street and head into the third section of the market – Hawley Wharf. This new complex opened in 2021 and consists of covered food courts and modern boutique stores. It’s quieter and more gentrified than the Stables or Camden Lock. Our self-guided walk does a loop of Hawley Wharf Market. Head along the lane by the side of the railway arches, turn right down Kentish Town Road, and right again to return along the Regents Canal towpath. Here it intersects with another of our favourite walks in London – the Regent’s Canal walk. Along the loop there’s the tap room at the 3 Locks Brewing Company, Soho Creamery (selling vegan ice cream), and a bar and coffee shop with seats on the waterfront. Kids might want to try out the subterranean Babylon Park while coffee lovers should head to the Camden Coffee Roastery. CAMDEN HAWLEY WHARF MARKET CAMDEN TOWN Back on Camden High Street turn left and head into the heart of Camden Town. This busy section of road is surrounded by alternative culture and people. Punks sell photo opportunities; street art covers entire buildings; and buskers sing into the late hours. Buck Street Market, the last of the four quarters of Camden Market is located, in what looks like, a multi-level shipping container. Climb the stairs for drinks with a view or shop for fair trade fashion and environmentally friendly goods below. BUCK STREET MARKET CAMDEN LOCK CAMDEN AT NIGHT Camden Town is a creative hub for the arts. If you visit in the late afternoon and want to stick around for the evening, check what’s on. Some of the options include: The walk ends at Camden Town tube station. We hope you enjoyed it.
MORE LONDON SELF-GUIDED WALKING GUIDES Walking is a great way to see London. Here’s a list of some of our favourite walks in London. Frankly, this one is newer and better. The AI whiteboard video creator technology is similar to a couple of our previous video tools, but we’ve added more options this time. Meanwhile, the video technology is much improved over anything we’ve launched previously. The logic built into the software is improved, with the ability to automatically generate slides, and autoformat the text of whiteboard videos. And perhaps most importantly, the GPT-4 powered content generation is better than anything we’ve offered before. Picture of a Green Delhi!
EXPLORING DELHI GARDENS
Hello from AroundDelhi once more! In my second blog post, i'll give you a tour of Delhi's serene and green side. The city is well renowned for its historical sites and its busy streets, but it also offers a lot of undiscovered green areas that provide a peaceful respite from the city's bustle and noise. Take a careful look at these green havens that offer peace in the busy capital.
Lodi Gardens
The exquisite Lodi Gardens, a 90-acre park in the centre of Delhi, is where our trip begins. This vast sanctuary is home to several historical sites as well as being a haven for nature enthusiasts. Enjoy the spectacular beauty of other historic tombs, including the renowned Mohammed Shah's Tomb, while leisurely wandering through lovely gardens or relaxing by tranquil lakes, etc. The historical setting and rich landscaping of Lodi Gardens make it the ideal location for a tranquil picnic, a morning jog, or yoga.
2. Garden of five senses
The Garden of Five Senses is a cutting-edge park designed to awaken your senses. This amazing park acts as a hub for nature, culture, and art. Several themed areas may be found, including the beautiful Mughal Garden, Khas Bagh, and Neel Bagh. It's a terrific area to experience the local arts scene because there are so many musical and cultural performances in the evenings. Remember to take your time exploring the inviting herb garden and the interesting Khas Bagh, which was constructed using supplies from the Mughal Empire.
3. Delhi’s Ridge Forest
The enormous, densely forested Delhi Ridge, which is frequently referred to as the "green lungs of Delhi," spans both the northern and central regions of the city. It provides naturalists with peaceful surroundings away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. This forest area is a refuge for bird watchers and nature photographers because it is home to a variety of animals and plant types. The Ridge is a great place for both long nature excursions and peaceful getaways from city life.
4. Yamuna Biodiversity Park
Yamuna Biodiversity Park is a unique and educational refuge situated beside the Yamuna River. The variety of plants and animals that live there make it an important conservation area. The park offers narrated nature treks and bird-watching tours to raise awareness of the importance of conserving the natural environment. Visitors who want to engage with nature and discover Delhi's ecological past ought to visit this place.
5. Mughal Garden at The Rashtrapati Bhavan
The Mughal Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan captivate visitors in the spring because to their magnificent floral displays. Persian gardens served as the inspiration for its vast lawn, tier-style flowerbeds, and shimmering fountains. It has a wide variety of colours and smells. For a royal experience, it is highly recommended to take a stroll through these lovely gardens.
In addition to taking a cultural and historical tour, visitors may engage with nature and learn about Delhi's greener side. Whether you appreciate the outdoors, are interested in history, or are just searching for a quiet getaway from the busy city, these greens have something to offer to everyone. Watch out for more amazing discoveries as we explore AroundDelhi further!
