My Day with Bob Evans
This incredibly flattering and beautifully composed photograph was taken this morning after breakfast at our beloved Bob Evans restaurant, this one just north of Lansing in DeWitt.  We were driving south on US127 from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant where, the night before, I’d given a long anticipated talk to the local student Planned Parenthood chapter about the illegal/unsafe…

UNSAFE ABORTION AND THE CHALLENGES OF THE GYNAECOLOGIST
UNSAFE ABORTION AND THE CHALLENGES OF THE GYNAECOLOGIST
Before I go into the subject of what constitute an unsafe abortion, lets know what abortion itself is and if it is different from a miscarriage. Abortion is the termination or loss of pregnancy before the age of viability (the age at which the baby is capable of surviving outside the womb with or without life support) or the loss of an embryo or fetus that weigh less than 500g. The term abortion…

‘i only support abortion in extreme circumstances’ ok but how the fuck is forcing a human being, any human being in any situation, to grow another human being in their body against their will not an extreme circumstance

Pamala Wainwright, 38
Tumblr media
On January 15, 1987, Pamala Wainwright was admitted to Shallowford Community Hospital in Dunwoody, Georgia to have an abortion and a tubal ligation. She never walked out.
Pamala was a married mother of 3 (counting the baby she was 11 weeks pregnant with). One of her kids had Down Syndrome, but it is unknown if this played a part in Pamala’s reasoning to have an abortion.
The next day, Pamala was taken to the operating room. Wendell Phillips was the abortionist who killed Pamala and her third baby.
The abortion was done with a method known as a carbon dioxide abortion, which involved putting a needle into the mother’s abdomen and pumping carbon dioxide to kill the unborn baby. I have been able to find almost no information on this method outside of Pamala’s case.
Phillips did not bother to make sure he put the needle in the right place. He pumped carbon dioxide gas directly into Pamala’s bloodstream, causing vapor lock in her heart that induced cardiac arrest. She was killed almost instantly.
On January 16, 1987, Pamala’s husband became a widower and the father of a dead child. He was left to raise his surviving children as a single father. Had Pamala never undergone an abortion, he would probably have soon celebrated the birth of a family member instead of mourning the deaths of two.

Friendly reminder that "unsafe abortion" casualties are actually counted as "maternal death"
Think about it the next time a delusional abortionist brings the "many women die out of childbirth" charade, and try to input that to pregnancy pursued to term

International Safe Abortion Day (ISAD) Is Today !
28 September is the annual day of action in support of the right to safe abortion. It has been celebrated since 1990 in Latin America, and since 2011 around the world.
Why does International Safe Abortion Day matter?
Because unsafe abortion is the 3rd leading cause of maternal deaths, deaths that are entirely preventable.
It's simple. Safe abortion saves lives.

People will scream "banning guns doesn't make them go away, people will still get them from criminals" and then unironically oppose weed being legalized.

i hate how the #1 problem in america is guns. and they still dont want to fucking take them away like WTFFF…. i dont wanna hear no bullshit about how theyre “to protect yourself” BITCH FROM WHAT?. IF THERES NO GUNS THEN WHAT ARE U PROTECTING URSELF FROM??? WHY DO U NEED THEM? if you really wanna protect yourself take away the guns and use a mf knife or smth idfk idc just take them away from people. there wouldnt be AS MUCH of a crime rate as there is now, and thats not to say there wouldnt be any at all but children and teachers atleast wouldnt have to feel so fucking unsafe in schools if they were js taken away. i’m tired of seeing shit on the news or on articles about how “this school got sh*t” or “this person did too” especially when theyre about CHILDREN no less like deadass the only people i feel deserve guns are the army not even the regular police bc theyre obviously abusing that fucking power as is. innocent civilians are getting sh*t bc you cant fucking differentiate whether or not they have a gun. yk how easily that could be solved??? BY TAKING THEM THE FUCK AWAYYYYY. please dont piss me off bc innocent children d*e everday, innocent TEACHERS d*e everyday and innocent PEOPLEEEEE d*e everyday bc yall wanna have a mf “right to bear arms” YOURE FINNA HAVE A RIGHT TO THIS ASS BEATING IN A SECOND BC WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG W YOUUUU AMERICA.

“Opal Roe” (USA 2020)
Because of the way that Opal’s death was recorded, not much is known about her except her state, year of death and cause of death.
Opal underwent a legal abortion in Texas and died in October of 2020. Even with the new system overhaul for abortion data reporting in the state, very little was recorded about her.
It should be noted that even though the law required physicians and hospitals should to report deaths by legal abortion on the form, the total number of abortion deaths under “reported by physicians” was listed as zero. The abortionist who killed Opal did not report her death, and neither did any doctors who may have treated her in an attempt to save her life. Her death would have been entirely unreported if an unknown person at the abortion facility hadn’t submitted a report. This brings attention to the issue of the new reporting system, which seems to still be missing data despite changes.
Less than two years after Opal’s death, the overturn of Roe v Wade allowed the state to strengthen abortion laws, protecting others like her. Unfortunately, this decision came too late for Opal and her baby.

Maybe it is just my weird luck, but so far pro-lifers I've seen are almost exclusively infertile. Like either because of illness or because they have a dick or whatever, the core point is - people that can't give birth. I wonder if there is some unrealized envy problem going on? Like you know that one toxic dad who dreamed of career in football but got untreatable leg trauma so he now tries to force his son to do football even if he prefers music? It feels like a similar thing - making one's own unfulfilled wishes other people's problem and trying to live them vicariously through others.
I am not sure what to make out of it, I guess you can only really understand what HUGE weight having a baby has only if you had one, or able to have one.
In either case, naturally people don't see nuances. Not only it is crippling, but it is not as easily preventable as it seems. Plenty of people are simply not educated and they even believe that having sex in only certain days or pulling out before climax nullifies risk of pregnancy, not simply lessens it. There are also horny teenagers that weren't educated at ALL, let's be real. There are also issues with accessing birth control tools and meds in many places.
But like, people want sex, it is very hard to resist and it is normal, there is nothing evil in it. If those guys really cared about saving unborn kids - they'd do their darnest coming up with birth control ways that are 100% accessible and 101% working. And naturally, just educate people better ffs. The ones most screwed by abort bans are those poor and/or just not informed enough before too late, placing sticks in the wheels for some irresponsible idiots that do end up aborting just because they wanted high of unprotected sex is not worth it.

like...not trying to offend anyone but I’m honestly becoming more and more convinced that catholocism (& probably christianity as a whole) are simply irredeemable? like I understand that the actual message in the bible is all about love and peace or whatever, but I don’t understand how you can look at all the harm that christiandom has wrought and continues to wreak, all the people they have hurt in the name of their faith, and think that the probably intention of some dudes a couple thousand years ago means more than...all of that.
