I don't usually talk about food here, but homesickness and stress are hitting hard, and there's little I wouldn't do for some proper Irish chipper-style chips loaded with garlic mayonnaise and grated cheese...

Prompt: “I heard you crying.”
Bing didn’t ever remember hearing that sound before, yet it sounded suspiciously familiar. It was clicking. Clicking that hitched and stuttered and varied in pitch.
He paused in his midnight raid of the fridge- Bim’s pizza was delicious, and he would blame it on Wilford come morning- to listen closer, data flickering across his vision as he processed the noise before it finally occurred to him what it was.
Crying, but not human. Android. It was the same clicking he made when he cried, and there were only four other beings in the facility who were capable of making a similar noise.
Bing regretfully shut the fridge door. Bim’s pizza would have to wait.
When he reached the hub he was greeted with an odd sight: a dark room, lit only by a sole computer monitor.
Blue sat at that monitor, typing even as oily tears slipped down his face and he was interrupted by the periodic clicks that shook his shoulders. The others- Oliver, Green, Red- were nowhere to be found.
“What’re you doing?” Bing asked as casually as he could, eyebrows furrowing with concern. He leaned against the doorframe and crossed his arms over his chest.
Blue’s head snapped up and his eyes narrowed. “W-www-WWWhat are you-you-you do-o-o-OOing here?”
“I heard ya cryin,’” Bing replied. “Doin’ okay? I’ve never seen ya cry before.”
That was an understatement. Bing had never seen Blue- or the others, for that matter- express anything other than irritation or mild indifference. They claimed to be above emotion.
But not now. Blue glanced down and sniffled. Reached up under his glasses to brush awkwardly at the tears.
“Take off the glasses.” Bing crossed the hub, plucking Blue’s glasses off his face before he could protest. “It makes it easier. And y’won’t get ‘em all a mess.”
“Do-do-OO-” Blue’s form jerked. He gritted his teeth and squeezed his eyes shut and a moment later it stabilized- “yo-you c-cCCry often?”
Bing offered a half-grin. “Sometimes. But I can tell you don’t.” He went over to Oliver’s monitor, took his chair, and rolled it over before plopping down. “What’s goin’ on?”
“It’ss-S a viIIrus.” More tears welled up, trickled down the android’s face; they were black and oily in appearance and they dripped off his chin to dot his shirt. “It-t-t causes emo-OOO-tional insta-instabil-il-ility.
“I-I am attemp-p-pting to remedy the situ-a-aAAAtion,” he continued, turning back to the monitor, “the others-s-s are in shutdown.”
Bing chuckled. “I can only imagine. All of you guys together, bein’ angry an’ shit. It’d be like hell in here.”
Blue didn’t respond. He stopped typing and ran a hand through his hair, heaving a clicking sigh. “I-i-is po-possessing emo-o-otions alwayssS-S this tiring?”
“Are you tired?” He looked tired. Exhausted, really.
Blue nodded quietly.
“Why don’tcha go charge, then?” Bing suggested, reaching over to wipe some of the tears from Blue’s face. “I bet you’ll feel better in the morning. I always do.”
“Will you come with me?” The words were soft. Tentative.
Thoughts of Bim’s pizza- and how it would definitely be gone by the time Bing could get to it- melted away to become thoughts of warm arms and whirring cores.
“Course I will,” he said, smiling, and a rush of warmth filled him when Blue smiled back.
