#Wanda is a very emotional character so most of her scenes tend to be on the sadder side

Okay but can we talk about how amazing of an actor Elizabeth Olsen is for a sec? Like in episode 3, the way she went from that comedic, over exaggerated sitcom acting to the emotional, heartbreak of remembering her dead brother was PHENOMENAL

WandaVision in Color part 2
part 1 - Wanda, Vision, Monica, and Quicksilver
Billy wears dark blue and dark red (rather Dr. Strange really) while Tommy wears a creamy white over green. There is some variation here, as the twins are still growing up...
Tumblr media
...but it's obvious that Billy is favored by Vision and Tommy is favored by Wanda. The irony is that their colors are switched in this case, since Wanda is red and Vision is mostly green.
Tumblr media
Billy's Halloween costume is very true to his comic book costume though, and while comic Tommy favors green with orange goggles in the comics he seems to spend a lot of time being a mini-Quicksilver now that his uncle has shown up.
Tumblr media
Wanda wore red, orange, yellow, and blue-green while she was pregnant. Orange means optimism, emotion, youth, and is uplifting and stimulating. Warmth, spontaneity, and creativity, but superficiality, impatience, and domination. I would say these are all traits that they wanted us to feel towards Wanda in that episode. It's also pretty neat that the stained glass in the house matches her striped top: it further reinforces the idea that she's in control of everything inside the Hex.
Tumblr media
With Monica out of the way, it's time for Agnes to shine again. She usually wears black, white, green, purple, and shades of teal/turquoise blue-green.
Tumblr media
Purple is a very strong color meaning-wise and has been used sparingly with Agnes. (It seems to be the most common color to see associated with Agatha Harkness.) Purple means spirituality, mystery, royalty, imagination and creativity, inspiration, encouragement, compassion, fantasy, wisdom, sensitivity, vigilance, fragility and immaturity, and arrogance. It is a mix of red and blue.
Teal is welcoming and sympathetic but also private, uneasy, and apprehensive. Turquoise is clarity and stabilizes but also narcissism, stress, and secrecy. Again, very Agnes.
Tumblr media
Putting Agnes in green on the sly (during black and white scenes or when it's so dark that the green will just look black) is the biggest confirmation for me that she is one of the villains thus far.
Tumblr media
There's no direct evidence that she's associated with Hayward--i'm still not sure what his endgame is other than putting the tech in Vision to use, to what end is uncertain--but she's definitely sus. As much as i love her she is clearly up to no good and seems to have a connection with Vision (which is probably another reason for her to be wearing green). She seems to be handling Wanda, the twins, and Vision rather handily.
Please note that I'm also not trying to say that Vision is evil (the color here, as with the twins, goes directly back to the comics rather than the story that is being told on this show) but that he very clearly chose to seek out help from the wrong people. Everything about his current situation is owed to S.W.O.R.D. (far more than Thanos) and still hangs over him.
The thing that we need to realize here is that this is not Wanda's fault. She had to put Vision back together after what Thanos and S.W.O.R.D. did to him, and he has yet to break free of it (pun intended). The Hex didn't tear him apart, it's keeping his damaged body held together and alive.
Tumblr media
The big question:
Did the producers, directors, and costume department mean to highlight these colors? Are they a purposeful inclusion to the show? I think so, partially because the show started out in black and white and tends to be very colorful in later episodes. There isn't much coincidence when it comes to colors and art. Colors don't mean the same exact thing to all people, but they do all influence us psychologically. Being aware of them is part of making good art and they seem to be used to great effect in WandaVision. And while most shows are probably not as intent on expressing things through color in this way, WandaVision has been screaming it at us, possibly because of its comic book roots, but probably not entirely. I think we're in for a big reveal before the end of the season (and here's where it may get spoilery).
I started with the scene where Wanda left the Hex and now we've come full circle (er, hex).
Tumblr media
I've already talked about the scene where Wanda drags the deactivated drone out of the Hex and throws it to Hayward's feet but i left a couple of details out that I wanted to save for last. This scene is the most vivid and stark use of the three main colors in WandaVision so far, the three colors that we see at the end of every episode: red, green, and blue.
youtube
These three colors that are associated with the radiation that is transmitting a signal to the world outside the Hex. Red dominates the walls of the Hex but the other two colors are present as well, existing in harmony.
Have I said Hex enough times?
Tumblr media
As you probably know, this is a RGB Color Hex, which is how color is expressed in html format. You know, over the internet. Online. Which played a fairly substantial role in how Vision was created. (And possibly how he's been sustained?)
The flipping and flickering images in WandaVision's end credits are the same colors as in the RGB Hex, which is expressed as red, green, and blue. Overlap two colors and you get magenta (the color between pink and purple), yellow, and cyan (the color between blue and green). Overlap all three circles and the colors are mixed together to create white light (this is called additive color). If you remove all three colors you get black.
Wait, where have we seen these colors before? Oh yeah, expressed in all of the costume choices for our show's main characters. And in the scenes surrounding a certain drone strike...
It was a bright, clear day inside the Hex during the drone strike but foggy and fully dark outside. Red dot sights seem to be dominant in most films, they clearly chose to go with green laser sights for the S.W.O.R.D. team (to great effect). These colors were brilliant against the black night. And Monica, in blue, tried to extend an olive branch after Hayward outed himself as a baddy.
Fast forward to the Halloween episode, at the end of which Wanda has probably overextended herself by swallowing up most of the S.W.O.R.D. officers and one-third of our beloved trio. Things are quickly drawing to a close with only a couple episodes to go, and i think things are about to hit the fan.
The implications here are pretty clear, and this is pure speculation, but i think it's safe to say, if all three factions unite we will get light, and a happy ending, and life. If the three remain divided we will get darkness, terror, sadness, and death. No pressure.

Non-Sequential [Ch. 11]
Pairing: Pre-Serum Steve Rogers/Steve Rogers x Reader
One night, Steve Rogers met a beautiful dame named Y/N. He hadn’t intended on letting her get away. But fate had other ideas. Y/N appeared and disappeared in his life so hauntingly that Steve started to wonder if she was an angel meant to watch over him.
Word Count: 2,300
A/N: Inspired by the film The Time Traveler’s Wife. But not one of those fics that just literally rips off the whole movie and plugs in characters where they please.
Chapter 10
Tumblr media
Steve looked around, making sure the rest of his team was taken care of themselves, before he laced his fingers with Y/N’s and took their exit from the hangar and pulled her toward his bedroom.
“Steve,” she finally whispered after he closed the door. “Steve, what happened?”
“Rumlow was there. He had a explosive strapped to him. I didn’t catch it. I should’ve – fuck – I should’ve I.D. it right away. But Rumlow started talking about Bucky – lost my focus. He detonated it and Wanda…she contained it.”
Y/N slowly sat down on the edge of the bed and her hand shook as it slowly rose to cover her mouth.
Steve almost died today. Steve would’ve died if it hadn’t been for Wanda.
“She was trying to get rid of it – to keep everyone safe. But she…she – it went off in a building. Killed civilians. Innocent civilians.”
That explained why Wanda had been so shook up when they landed. She had killed people trying to save Steve.
But Y/N pulled out of her own head. She realized Steve had a distant look in his eye. It wasn’t time to be scared of what could’ve happened. She had to help him deal with what had happened. Making a scene about about losing her boyfriend wasn’t going to help him.
Y/N quickly stood up from the bed. “Steve, come here.” Without letting him brush her aside, she wrapped her arms around him.
Steve didn’t fight her. His hold was desperate and needy. He buried his face into her hair and neck. He didn’t cry. He didn’t shake. He just needed her.
Y/N eventually pulled away just enough to look at his face. Her thumb traced the line of his cheekbone. “Now I want you to get out of this uniform and get in the shower before we get you something to eat, OK?” Her voice was confident, but still soothing.
Steve nodded.
He swore Y/N is the only person that he would ever take commands from for the rest of his life. He respected her and her power more than any general or leader he’d ever been under before her.
“Do you want me to come with?” She asked seriously.
But Steve knew if he nodded, she wouldn’t hesitate to follow him into the bathroom and get in the shower with him.
But he shook his head no.
As soon as Y/N heard the water start running, a different reality set in for her.
She had kissed Bucky.
He may have initiated the kiss, but she didn’t stop. In fact, she used it as her tactic to keep him with her instead of face his fate.
Guilt gathered in her gut. She had cheated on Steve. It may have been underlined with good intention and desperation, but Y/N still cheated on Steve.
Y/N started crying. It was very anxious and a sudden wave of emotion. It hit her like a freight train. The tears fled, but she couldn’t manage to catch her breath.
But Steve needed her right now. What kind of person would she be if she told him about Bucky after something so terrible had happened?
Y/N sniffed when she heard the shower turn off once again. Damn Steve and his military showers.
She mentally told herself to pull it together and quickly wiped away any evidence of tears.
When Steve emerged from the bathroom with a towel tightly wrapped around his waste. Steam was billowing off his skin. He tended to take molten hot showers after missions. It seemed to be the only thing that would ease the tension from his muscles.
“What do you want to eat? I’ll make you something,” Y/N muttered, trying her best to keep her voice as calm as possible. She didn’t want to show any evidence that she’d been crying.
But Steve shook his head. “I gotta go check on Wanda.”
Y/N just nodded and pushed aside his excuse. “I’ll make something for the both of you.”
Steve opened his mouth to argue, but Y/N was already patting him gently on the chest. “Go check on Wanda, Steve. She needs you.” Then she sighed. “But when you’re done taking care of her… you gotta let me take care of you, OK?”
Steve gave her a sad, but heartfelt, smile and nodded.
He leaned down and tipped her chin a bit. “I love you,” he whispered before he kissed her sweetly.
“I love you too,” Y/N whispered back. “Now go.”
While Steve took care of the team, Y/N became restless as she waited for him to return.
She realized did she have to tell him about Bucky – about the kiss and then about his hideout. There wasn’t ever a good time to tell him something like that, so she might as well do it as soon as possible. Plus, the guilt was eating away at her and she wanted to rid herself of it.
To try and chase away the stress and fear, Y/N went down to the gym. With most of the team having just got back from a mission, she knew it would most likely be empty. Which was great, because she’s not trying to feel bad about her lack of physical abilities and compare herself to Earth’s mightiest heroes.
Afterward, Y/N took a long shower and tried to stop herself from having a complete mental breakdown.
What if Steve ended things with her after she told him about Bucky?
What if he hated her?
What if he never spoke to her again?
She wouldn’t survive.
Y/N just kept thinking about if things were switched, how heartbroken she would feel if Steve shared such an intimate moment with another woman – and her best friend at that.
When Y/N finally emerged from the bathroom, steam accompanying her exit, Steve was already sitting in bed. He had a tablet in his hands. She could only assume he was either looking over mission reports or reading the news.
Y/N watched him for a moment, hair still wet and towel tightly snug under her arms. Maybe this would be the last time they shared such a domestic and innocent moment.
Steve felt her eyes on him and glanced over. He was about to open his mouth to make a joke about her staring. But his mouth closed when he saw how she was looking at him.
“Everything OK?” He asked with concern.
Y/N didn’t say anything, just closely walked to the empty side of the bed and laid down so she was facing him.
“I have to tell you a couple things,” she muttered.
Steve remained calm. “OK.” He put the tablet on the nightstand.
“One of them is good and the other one is bad.”
“OK,” he said again.
“And the bad one…it’s going to hurt you and it might even make you hate me,” tears glazed over her eyes as she spoke.
Steve’s face broke and he quickly leaned forward to cup her cheek. “Y/N, there’s nothing you could do that would ever make me hate you.”
Y/N bit her lip and stared into his eyes. “You sure about that?”
Steve place a kiss on her cheek quickly. “Yes, now just tell me.”
She stared into his eyes for a moment, buying herself as much time as she could before they started staring back at her with hatred.
“When you were on mission, I went back to the war.” She paused. “It was February 1st, 1945.”
Steve’s eyed widened. “The day that Bucky…”
She nodded slowly.
“Y/N,” his voice was serious now. “What happened?”
Tear started flowing down Y/N’s cheeks then. “I tried to stop him. I knew what was about to happen to him and I begged him not to go.”
Steve rushed forward and wiped her tears away. “Hey, shh. We know you’ve never been able to alter time before. I would never expect you to change what happened to Bucky that day.”
“He figured out that something was going to happen to him from how panicked I was. I said basically anything to make him stay. But he wouldn’t stay behind while knowing you and the commandos were putting themselves in danger.” She sniffed. “I was desperate.”
Steve waited patiently.
“So I…I asked him to stay...for me,” Y/N finally whispered.
Steve didn’t quite understand the trouble with it.
“And then he – Bucky kissed me, Steve.” But she shook her head, because that wasn’t it. “And I let him. I let him kiss me and I kissed him back, because I foolishly believed it would make him stay.” She let out a breath. “Steve, I thought a kiss would save his life.”
Steve’s silence was worse than yelling.
Y/N didn’t know what he was thinking. But it was clear he was processing what she just told him. It was so Steve. He evaluated every situation before reacting. Most of the time, Y/N loved him for it. But this was not one of those times.
“Do you hate me?” She finally asked through her tears.
Steve finally snapped out of it. He pulled her to his chest, rubbing circles on her back as she cried into his chest.
“I told you,” he murmured into her hair. “I could never ever hate you.”
“But I…”
“I don’t care,” he cut her off before she could finish.
She pulled away to look up his face, making sure there was no lie written on it. “What?”
Steve cupped her cheek. “After everything we’ve been through. You think a kiss with Bucky is going to tear us apart?”
“I–I didn’t…it’s just…” Y/N sputtered.
“Y/N, I love you. OK? And that’s never going to stop.”
Y/n shook her head had his answer. She had been so prepared for some sort of wrath. But now she was understanding that she fully expected Steve to leave her because she still wasn’t sure she deserved him.
“Sometimes I wonder if you love me because you feel like you have to – like I’ve been forced on you by fate,” Y/N admitted almost pathetically.
Steve’s heart broke at her theory. “How could you think such a thing? All I can ever remember wanting was to be with you. Since that night I met you, that was it for me.”
Y/N wiped more tears off her skin.
“And I’m used to Bucky stealing all the girls. It was only a matter of time before he snuck a kiss. Punk’s always hated seeing something he can’t have,” Steve added with an attempt to lighten the mood.
Y/N forced a small smile.
But then the air went serious again.
“I’m sorry, Steve. I would never intentionally hurt you. I need you to know that.”
“I know, Y/N. I know.” He pulled her into his arms again and kissed the top of her head.
After a few moments, Steve realized something. “You said there were a couple of things. What else did you need to tell me?”
Y/N look worried. “I…I know where Bucky is.”
————————————
Tumblr media
The next day, Y/N found herself shaking as she tried to cook a decent meal for the team. Spaghetti seemed easy... until she could barely slice tomatoes and kept almost cutting her own finger. She was lost in her head today.
Steve gave her almost no reaction last night when she told him Bucky was hiding out in Romania. Y/N expected him to jump with joy, or insist on getting on a quinjet and going to get him immediately.
But he didn’t. He just nodded his head, like it was just sufficient information.
Y/N already felt like she was in the doghouse with him, so she didn’t feel like she could pick his brain and insist on him telling her what he was thinking about.
“You OK?”
Y/N jumped and dropped the knife. By some miracle, it just clattered to the kitchen counter instead of falling on her foot or stabbing her. She looked up to see Sam watching her with a bit of concern.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Why?” Y/N tried to brush his worry away.
“Well… you’re shaking like a leaf and you’re so in your head that you didn’t hear my loud ass walking into the kitchen.” He gave her his classic side smirk. “I’m guessing Steve told you what happened.”
She sighed. “He did.”
Little did Sam know there was so much more than that going on in her brain.
Sam just nodded and silently moved over to her and started helping her with dinner without asking for her permission.
A calming aura surrounded the kitchen after awhile. Sam had a knack for doing that. He seemed to know when he needed to push people to talk and when they just needed to be left to their thoughts. Either way, he wouldn’t leave them alone to suffer.
“Sam, you’re needed in the conference room,” the AI suddenly interrupted their peace.
Y/N looked to Sam, who had his brow furrowed. They just got back from a mission. What could they possibly be meeting about?
“What for?” He challenged.
“Well, the Secretary of State is requiring the entire team’s presence for a meeting,” FRIDAY responded with a nervous tone. “Thaddeus Ross,” she clarified with a bitterness.
Y/N shared a concerned look with Sam. But he cleaned off his hands and squeezed her shoulder. “I’m sure it’s fine.”
Tumblr media
Y/N tried to occupy herself in Steve’s room as the entire team was in the meeting with Secretary Ross. She tried watching TV, tried reading a book, even tried writing in a journal. But her mind would continue to wander with worry.
After a couple hours, Steve returned to his bedroom.
He looked broken.
“Steve?”
“She’s gone,” he mumbled.
Y/N squinted. “Who’s gone?”
Then he finally looked up at her. “Peggy. She-She just passed. I was just notified. She died in her sleep.”

Back from Hiatus: Chick flicks, Romance, and the Black Widow Movie
Tumblr media
Hi!
First of all, I must apologise for my ridiculously long hiatus but, as you know, life happens. Welcome to all new followers! I’m very happy you guys are here and that you decided to stick around even if cobwebs were beginning to grow in my poor old blog. So, let’s get to the point!
It seems we’re getting our movie!
I’ve spent months rejoicing. Waking up in the morning, having a bad day and then remembering, we’re getting a Black Widow movie! Made life better.
But because my mind tends to wander to bad places more often than not, I decided to do some research. After reading some books on story writing, watching a ton of films and a bunch of interviews, not to mention catching up on a couple of articles about “films for women” (and then puking my guts out) I thought, hmm, there are clearly some points this film should avoid if it wants to be good.
We’ve talked extensively about the specifics of the character of Natasha Romanoff, the background, the things we would like to see, the things we would definitely wish to avoid etc.
What we haven’t talked about, is the general cinematic cliches that cling on to “chick flicks” like shit to a shovel. Of course one would say, the Black Widow movie is not going to be a chick flick.
Oh really?
Really?!
I’m supposed to believe studios don’t market female led films for the female audiences first and foremost? Isn’t that the definition of a chick flick?
Listen here Marvel, you’ve obviously decided that hey, making a film with a female lead might not be the “gamble” you originally thought it might be. We are honoured you have reached this conclusion in a timely (*ahem*) manner.
I mean, we only needed this:
Tumblr media
and this
Tumblr media
and this
Tumblr media
and this
Tumblr media
and this
Tumblr media
for Marvel to finally go, “you know what, maybe we can make a film with, ya know, a woman who has like, more than 3 pages of dialogue?”
Geez, really? It took what, most of Hollywood’s finest to persuade you?
Anyway, I’m not going to dwell on the sexism too much because this would take all day but hey, Marvel, listen, you see all of the above more than decent examples of films with female leads? Do you know what they all had in common?
They were not thought of as “movies for the women”
You know what movies I’m talking about, the examples are endless. It’s those films written by 5-6 dudes and directed by a 7th one, all of whom think they have the golden key to making films for the female crowd. It’s basically a combination of pseudo romantic shit and some eye candy for the “unlucky” boyfriends who were hauled along by the female squad, with some “trying very hard to be funny but end up being just awkward” scenes for variety.
I’ve decided to help you Marvel. Not because I care for you, but because I care about Natasha. I’m going to give you definitions and examples, so you won’t have to google a lot of shit. We will talk about romance, because that’s what you think women want more than anything.
Definition of Romanticism: a movement in the arts and literature that originated in the late 18th century, emphasizing inspiration, subjectivity, and the primacy of the individual.
Good modern examples:
Captain America , aka Steve Rogers, aka Cinnamon Roll attempting to (almost) single-handedly save the world. That, is a romantic notion.
Wonder Woman, aka Diana Prince, aka Queen of the world, attempting to (almost) single-handedly save the world. Also, a romantic notion.
Notice how neither example contains the lovey-dovey kissy stuff girls like.
Bad modern examples:
Leonard Hofstadter, lonely albeit smart dude who hits on next door neighbour for years (and even breaks into her home) because of love.
Bella Swan, everyday girl falls in love with the high school stud and her live revolves around him because of love.
Notice how both examples are centuries old cliches that are in no way romantic, only perceived as such due to pop culture, and are generally bad for mental and emotional health.
All 4 examples were box office hits by the way, but the bad ones make me hit my head on my desk so hard, it leaves a freaking dent. And you don’t want a dent on my desk Marvel, or another bleak spot in your ever growing list of Meh films.
Now, I know some of you think, “come on, Marvel is too good to make mistakes like this”.
Is it?!
Need I remind you of this:
Tumblr media
(the love will fix us both)
Or this:
Tumblr media
(the love interest, also, what the hell text?!)
Or this:
Tumblr media
(the Romeo and Juliet)
Marvel does tend to stumble more often than not, when it comes to love stories. And because I know, I know, we will get at least one of those in the Black Widow film, I’m just thinking ahead and cautioning the people on board with this project.
If you want love to work, you need to be able to love yourself first. We need to love the hero, before we love the people they love.
In Wonder Woman, we loved Diana and Steve, and we loved how the two worked together, because the writer took the time to let us know how and why.
In Captain America: the First Avenger, we loved Steve and Peggy, and we loved how the two worked together, because the writer took the time to let us know how and why.
We did not have time to learn and love Christine, to care about what went on with Stephen Strange. Same goes for Wanda and Vision.
Writing in these cliches just because everybody else does and because “that’s what people expect” is not good enough.
Everyone can be a fan of romance, in fact, almost 100% of American films have romantic elements to them, we are all hooked when it comes to this stuff, but romance is not just about heterosexuals falling in love, it’s about trial, and inspiration, and sacrifice. It’s about people trying to lead meaningful lives.
What I’m saying Marvel is, please, don’t be Catwoman, be Wonder Woman. Don’t be the Ghost-busters sequel, be Ocean’s 8. Don’t be Bride Wars, be Carol.
Notice how all of the above were female led films. Some were good, some were bad. Some had good writing, some didn’t. All had brilliant leading ladies. You know what this means? If this film ends up sucking, it’s on you, not on womenfolk.
