10-min mousepad scribble of the brainworm. spawned from a semi-coalesced world in my head about elemental spirits that take the form of animals, manifesting natural earth processes (via the 4 classical elements). he’s the duality of lightning (fire)/ wind (air) in the setting, together forming the trinity of ‘air-water-fire’ storm incarnations with a river spirit (one of water/ air).

takes the form of sea eagles/ ospreys. named by humanity as ‘Vega’.

The traditional name Vega (earlier Wega) comes from a loose transliteration of the Arabic word wāqi' (Arabic: واقع) meaning "falling" or "landing", via the phrase an-nasr al-wāqi' (Arabic: النّسر الْواقع), "the falling eagle".

planning out loud here, but given the nature of divinity in this world, he should reflect an aspect of his elemental trinity even when divided from her back into a duality- could be shown via thri-fold design elements...? 3 crests? 3 elongate pinion feathers (one on each wingtip? central tail feather?)

Date: June 2nd, 2022

Time: 2:55 AM, Penguin Standard Time

The events of the “Luigi Board” experiment, as documented by Agent Tau (otherwise known as Richter).

To test if any “ghosts”, “poltergeists”, or “spirits” of any kind were present within the Puffle Hotel, it was suggested by Agent Paige, aka Puffle Handler that a “Luigi Board” was used to communicate with “spirits from the beyond”.

Several candles were set up within the confines of the hotel room in a small circle, which was surrounded in a larger circle of salt at the suggestion of Agent [Classified] who claims that the salt is crucial, as he saw a seance without such protections go terribly in a horror movie.

Due to 3am being the “witching hour”, it was decided that we would conduct this experiment at this time.

Before we started, to insure our alertness and that none of us would be too tired to sleep, we consumed energy drinks or coffee (I myself abstained from consuming either, especially the coffee), slept during the day in order to be more alert at night, or simply exercised to “keep our blood pumping”. We consumed a light meal of squid pizza and breadsticks at 2:30 AM to avoid being distracted by hunger, which was of course purchased from the Pizza Parlor at 8:00 PM, an hour before closing. Other biological needs, such as having to use the lavatory or drinking water were dealt with prior to the experiment to avoid distractions as well.

As the skeptic of the group, I was designated to transcribe the ordeal rather than use the “Luigi Board” alongside Paige and [Classified]. Paige was designated to “lead” the questions, while [Classified] would move the “planchette” and remain silent. Before starting, we ensured the candles were properly lit, the room was completely dark (asides from the candlelight, of course), and that it was as quiet as possible.

[PH] Hey there…anyone here?

[Luigi] Y-E-S

[PH] Okay, great? Do you mind if we have a few questions for you?

[PH] Okay, great. Are you a ghost?

[Agent Tau] …Is [Classified] moving the planchette, or is the “ghost” moving it.

[Agent Tau] I am merely asking because I remembered that apparently, the way the “Luigi Board” works is through the “ideomotor effect”, and not actual ghosts.

[PH]Okay mate, first off, it’s a Wega board. Second off, you can’t just interrupt like this, at least ask that after we’re finished. And third off, how does the ideomotor effect apply to this when ghosts have been on this island for ages?

[Agent Classified] Wait, Wega? I’ve been pronouncing it Ouijij this whole time!

[Agent Tau]Well, for one footage is unreliable. And we did eat a lot of candy. Perhaps the sugar merely caused us to imagine we both became ghosts.

After that…exchange, the planchette moved in a pattern not unlike a “figure eight” before Agent [Classified] moved it to “Goodbye”. The candles were put out and stored, the salt was swept up, and there were no notable changes. I have started to feel what some may refer to as “dread”, but I am sure it is nothing to worry about.

Tamy Moyo mentions the transitions she is facing in life in “Sare”

Tamy Moyo’s album, BVUDZIJENA serves as a way of presenting her identity. As mentioned by Tafadzwa Zimoyo in The Herald, Tamy’s white hair or “bvudzijena” in Shona has inspired her to reach great heights in her music career. After all, Tamy said white hair symbolises the transition taking place in her life. It’s about her journey from being a teenager to an adult, her quest for growth and wisdom not only as an individual but as an artist and a creative as evident in the song titled, “Sare”.

Sare serves as the first track off BVUDZIJENA The Album. The music video premiered on November 10, 2021. Tamy Moyo begins by pondering on her bed. We are presented with the full moon accompanied by traditional cultural chants. The full moon symbolises that a significant change is about to happen, the transition of Tamy from being a teenager to an adult. Moreover, the Shona phrase "Iro, Zuva rabuda"—which translates to "The sun is out"—adds to the evidence. Immediately afterwards, the music starts to get intense. Later on, as Tamy Moyo is tossing and turning in bed, the film switches to other scenes. "Mukai iwe, Bvudzi jena"—which means "Wake up"—is what awakens her.

Afterwards, we are presented with a piano playing in the background mixed with soothing vocals. The lyrics have a message behind her transition. For instance, she said,

"Wake up so early in the morning / Nothing is scaring my turning / Life is a road is a journey / All of these questions I’m learning / Feeling no ways I’m unworthy / Hapana chandogona ini / Mercy mercy mercy mercy / But I’m not counting my blessings"

She lets her listeners know that she is embracing the changes she is going through. She understands that life is a journey and part of the process. Henceforth she is not feeling unworthy. However, she notices something she needs to work on. She needs to start counting her blessings.

Which means

My heart is full / If only I could sit / not just look at other people's affairs / Aghh, I will not stay

Her heart is full yet she finds herself comparing herself to others. She knows that if she wants to transition, she has to leave that all behind hence why she said, she will not stay (sare).

Sare sare (handisare) / Huruva kusimuka kupfumbuka / Mhepo dziye kusimuka kuzopfumbuka (handisare) x 4

Which means

Stay stay (l will not stay) / The dust will rise and bloom / Those winds will rise and bloom (l will not stay)

Huruva kusimuka kupfumbuka (The dust will rise and bloom) is a metaphor to explain Tamy Moyo's transition. Tamy Moyo is a speck of dust ready to rise and bloom from a teenager to an adult. She is in search of growth and wisdom.

Which means:

Let your heart be pure / Instead of walking alone / I wish you stopped believing / No, I wish you had no regrets

The music gets intense when Tamy Moyo learns a valuable lesson. No matter what happens, she has to have a pure heart. Having a pure heart leads to self-awareness, personal growth, and personal development that will help her transition.

Towards the end of the video, she pays homage to her dancer and choreographer Lynsey Lynn who was nominated for a NAMA in 2021.

In a nutshell, I liked the concept of the music video. Sare had a mixture of Afro-pop with traditional and cultural elements to it. It clearly shows that Tamy Moyo put so much thought into the music video to present the transitions she is facing as an artist. Therefore, I rate the track, 10/10.
