I love the novel because it really highlights how NV isn't all too different to other places when it comes to morals and attitudes. It's no more accepting of differences just because it's home to literal monsters and people who grow extra eyes and stuff.

Diane Crayton has been bullied and microaggressed for being mixed race. She's faced so many misogynistic judgements on her body and lifestyle that she's internalised them hard enough to have an inconsistent view of herself. She's faced judgment for having unmarried parents. She's faced judgement for being a young unmarried mother who couldn't make her relationship work.

These are all normal things anyone could face and it really endeared me to Diane especially because she's so dedicated to everything she does for Josh. Like the girl is TRYING.

A game like Coffee Talk but fully voiced and set in the Welcome to Night Vale universe. You work in a diner in Night Vale and prepared food and drinks for your customers. You listening to the stories about their daily lives and troubles and offer advice sometimes. The pleasant sound of the radio fills the occasional silences in the diner. You like to keep it on the Night Vale Community Radio channel. In a town like yours, it's good to have a heads-up about certain unexpected phenomena or town wide events. Sometimes, when some wild and exiting stuff seems to be happening in another part of town, all the conversations in the diner stop and everyone gather's around and listens.

Very sad to me that only a small fraction of an already small group will ever read the welcome to night vale novels, they're all excellent and I've never read anything else like them. You don't need much context from the show to enjoy them I promise they're worth the read
