Because I am infected with "loving my D&D characters too much" disease I have decided that my next really big video project is going to be a dramatic retelling of the events of our D&D game (the one Verity comes from).

I'm going to narrate it and I have the other players and DM on board to do voice lines for their characters. I want to storyboard the whole thing. The first video will be the entire first story arc that covers about 6-7 months of the campaign. I've spent most of the weekend turning my rambling campaign recaps into a script and I'm probably about halfway done? The whole thing may end up being close to an hour.

Doing a bit more watercolor experimentation in Rebelle, trying to wrangle water physics. The description of this scene stuck in my brain—because unless they both knew the song, you don't "just" casually, spontaneously harmonize with someone. They're either both very good with musical improv, and/or so ~in tune~ (hehe) with each other that it Just Works. (Which, yes, it's a symbolic story element of how Kim is perfect good at being adaptably exactly what's needed, a parallel to that one trust exercise idle they do.)

Either way, this struck my brain with the idea of using swirling lines (as ya do) to visualize the song as being the most solid and "real" thing, in what would mostly be isolating, empty sky. Everything else is watercolor (with ink lineart and airbrushed fog)—transient, transparent, and taking on the texture of the canvas—but the "song" was done in solid, opaque pencil.

#10. What's an au you have for them?

Since them meeting at all is technically an AU i have 3 different ways that they do meet up. There's the one where Juniper ends up with the agency/adjacent to and ends up working with Reggie (have written a fic with this). The next one is Juniper surviving but basically going stealth and living as normal of a life as he can and ending up meeting Reggie through chance (most recent fic I've written). And then there's my personal favourite where Reginald "You're lucky my tracking skills are still up to snuff" Crane keeping himself busy after Phoenix was MIA and finding Juniper still alive (fic I want to write but haven't started mainly because it may end up multi chapter).

In terms of more AU canon bending taking them and putting them in a completely unrelated situation...I have a guilty pleasure Warrior Cats AU for IEYTD in general. Both JJ and Reggie have perfect warrior cats suffixes in their names already (Juniper and Crane) so they're called Junipersong (charcoal bengal) and Craneflight (tabby Norwegian forest cat). It's very silly but the amount of scenes I have in my mind for it...good lord...

Augh my friend Imp wrote an absolutely excellent fic about it (tragically in the realm of unfinished Google docs) and I'm shaking their hand about it so hard. Basically Juniper kissing Reggie but he like wasn't ready/fully expecting it and Juniper absolutely panicking because he thinks he's misread every interaction between them both since they got closer. #i love the other characters too its just that im not immune to unstoppable asshole meets immovable bastard #you're either immune or youre under the spell #idk why im getting embarrassed about this when i imagine anyone who follows me did so because they like hank and connor #i do want to draw the other characters though i have long comics planned with them in #the first comic i planned for this game had equal amounts of connor hank and jericho squad... still need to draw that #((with kara fam shoehorned in at the end lol (only because its set post-game in detroit while theyre living it up in canada)) #its a christmas/new year themed comic so maybe this year #and if not. then next year #i say that with the resignation of someone who knows they will still be shoving this game up their ass in a years time
