Me and my dad watched Planes, Trains and Automobiles today. It's a great movie. Due to my parents, I've probably seen it at least 5 times. John Candy was a great comedian. My mom really liked him.

I think the reason we are all so deeply affected by Good Omens is because it inspires love. It inspires to long for love, to appreciate and worship love, to receive, but also give love, to a person, to the world, to yourself.

Love is EVERYWHERE in Good Omens. It has no borders and can’t be contained. The love for the world you live in, the stars and animals and humans walking on the earth. Love for humanity‘s creation, for books and magic and cars, for art and clever inventions, for ways to communicate and connect with others. Love for the people around you and maybe one special person you love more than anything else. A love that is not limited by gender or sex or age or size or appearance or belief or affiliation. A love that comes in different shapes and flavors. A love that just is. A love so powerful it can topple the system, save the world and even bring people back from the dead. So powerful it toppled people’s belief systems, saved and changed them fundamentally and brought them back to life.

It showed us a love we were told is an ideal we shouldn’t expect to ever achieve. But this story gives us hope. That one day we could find our Crowley or our Aziraphale. That no matter what hurdles are thrown in our way they can be overcome no matter how impossible it may seem. Even now after season 2 there‘s not a single person who doubts the two of them will have their happy end. Because this story taught us hope that there CAN be a happy end. Maybe even for us. We need to put in the work. And maybe need a bit of luck. But it‘s possible. Love is real. And it‘s fucking beautiful.

it’s insane how two seperate times people tried to make a “dark and mature” avatar the last airbender like. there’s already a dark and mature avatar the last airbender and it’s called avatar the last airbender. like just because there’s moments of comedy and lightheartedness and just because nothing too explicit is shown doesn’t mean it’s not a show that tackles some incredibly difficult subjects- genocide both in the sense of extermination of people and extermination of culture is a constant theme, for instance- and that it doesn’t do so with respect and maturity. like the series uses it’s rating to its advantage there specifically because presenting the tragedies of war through the eyes of children who are still silly and play around and don’t even fully comprehend what they’re having to live through is far more “dark and mature” than removing those lighthearted and childish moments ever could make it. it’s just a far more subtle and effective darkness than just “let’s show the air nomad genocide!”

#atla is a timeless masterpiece BECAUSE of its limitations #the creators used them in such a masterful way to both hook children and adults #it uses implications in a clever way while also showing some awful things in ways that children can understand and process #what makes the show so funny is also what makes it so sad- that these are children in a warzone #atla

Jacob & Co. "Billionaire Timeless Treasure"

The watch uses almost exclusively yellow diamonds (along with a green tsavorite edge to the display).

Typically, we imagine diamonds to be white and it’s true that white diamonds are the most commonly used in watchmaking. However, depending on the impurities present, diamonds can actually be almost any colour with yellow diamonds among the rarest in existence – the colour only occurring once in every 10,000 diamonds.

Procuring all 425 yellow diamonds took more than 3 years with many stones rejected due to imperfections and a lack of pure colour. In total, the gems used amounted to 880 carats in their rough state, which in their cut form totals to 216.89 carats. That drastic difference is due in part to the fact that Jacob & Co. have used one of the most complicated and rare gem cuts, known as Asscher-cut, for every single diamond on the case and bracelet.

The Asscher-cut makes brilliant cuts or baguette cuts look simple. It consists of 57 facets in a square shape with inclined corners, making it appear more like a stylised octagon than a square in reality. Each gem is then carefully placed into the gold lattice of the case or bracelet according to its individually chosen location according to size and colour. Jacob & Co. notes that because they prioritised purity of colour over size, some of the largest rough diamonds now feature among the smallest present on the watch.

To touch quickly on the non-Asscher-cut gems that are found on the Billionaire Timeless Treasure: there are 57 baguette cut yellow diamonds and 76 tsavorites. The baguette diamonds are found set into the watch’s skeletonised movement and the tsavorites (in a combination of emerald-cut and kite-cut) create a frame around the display. They add a burst of colour to the piece and also give the watch a colour palette reminiscent of South American treasure.

The movement is the JCAM39, a manual wind tourbillon movement with a 72-hour power reserve.

The thing that people often overlook about Shakespeare is that a lot of his plots are absolutely buckwild. Gonna pose as my brother for wacky bisexual hijinks! Gonna fake my death so my would-be husband regrets being mean to me! Gonna kill my enemy’s son and serve him to her baked in a pie (don’t worry though they both 100% had it coming)…

What I’m saying here is that the only reason Shakespeare didn’t invent “there was only one bed” is because it wasn’t that unusual at the time.
