[image IDs: nine different similar emojis, with the first being the main version and the other eight all being variants. all depict an emoji yellow person standing with their legs and arms out. the first emoji is featureless. the second emoji has the person wearing an iPad with a strap across their chest. the third emoji gives the person curly dark brown hair that's shaved on one side and a summer-y outfit in light blue, pink, and white. the third emoji gives the person a light gray hijab, while the fourth emoji gives them a black hijab as well as a long black formless outfit. the fifth emoji has the same outfit, except with a black hijab and otherwise light pink clothing. the sixth emoji depicts their left arm only going to the middle of the forearm, the seventh emoji depicts their right leg only going to the middle of the thigh, and the eighth emoji depicts their left arm only going to their wrist. end IDs]

an emoji for "person", with a lot of different variants because we just kind of had fun with it!!

the plan is for emojis meant to depict people {rather than verbs, phrases, or the like} to have many variants depicting people of various identities, in order to try and work against the idea of "default" being a white, cis, abled western man, and everything that comes with it. additionally, it helps everyone see themselves in AAC, as a lot of image sets can be rather exclusive

if you want a variant of this emoji {or, honestly, any emoji, even if it's a verb, phrase, etc}, then we really encourage you to request!! this is something that's important to us. one last note: the third emoji there has variants with different skintones, which can be found in our new Google Drive, linked in our pinned post
