Is the Witness cutscene viewable to people who did not pay for access to the season (or will it be post-year)? Like people who only bought the expansion and not the season pass? I know they shove important story and lore info behind timegated paywalls constantly (reason I hate the season model), but that seems like a really especially vital scene I would hope would be viewable in-game by everyone

Right now, it's only a part of the season. Obviously it's available for free online on their official and non-official channels, but in-game it's only for those that have Season of the Deep, for now, since it's a part of this season.

As for the future, honestly no clue. I will assume yes because of one simple fact: you will no longer be able to buy the past seasons when Lightfall year ends. That would mean that only people who bought the season during this year would continue to have access to the cutscene going forward, but no new players would have the same access, which kinda defeats the purpose of having it accessible in the game later.

So I can assume that they might be working on some universally accessible cutscene viewer that will allow all players to see cutscenes from content no longer in the game, regardless of whether they've previously purchased it or not. That's the best scenario because it would mean we'd get all other cutscenes in the game too. The middle scenario is that only the Witness cutscene will be viewable somewhere as part of another mission or some quest, also without having to have purchased Season of the Deep (since you won't be able to once TFS starts: technically you'll be able to purchase Lightfall so maybe it will require you to at least have purchased that, but the season itself will no longer exist).

We'll have to wait for more info on that. As of now, I would assume that once this year is done and the season is no longer purchasable, the cutscene will be a part of content that is available to everyone. While it's still purchasable, it's only in-game for those that bought it, but can be viewed with no problem on their official channel (and elsewhere).

'put everything in the same spot and release it all at once for a smaller price'. balancing that is nearly impossible #as it stands destiny is still the live service game with the lowest monthly cost. even with all of the outrage. #the effective monthly sub for an annual pass of the expansion is less than you pay netflix. #that being said. never spend more than you can or more than you need to. seeing content online will always be better than feeling ... #... like you're wasting money. or worse. actually wasting money. nothing in the story really changes if you see it on youtube #i'm a big proponent of not spending money if you're 100% sure you are into something. even if it means missing out #it's an incredibly complex situation that people boil down to somethinig simple and it's just not the case

Viva Piñata was my favorite game when I was younger and it influenced my style heavily throughout the years but I've noticed it's like really niche? i don’t have the spoons to type out a full essay, but when people say parents need to monitor all their child’s activity online, i can tell they’ve not considered children with abusive parents, or just parents who won’t react well to certain information

take trans children with transphobic parents exploring their gender online. the child is exploring an important part of themself safe away from people they know in real life. but if the child’s internet use is completely monitored then they wouldn’t get to do that. or if their parents discover the child is trans by going through their private social media profiles because they have access to the child’s account, which would endanger the child. so should the child just know they’re not cis and not have any resources to deal with it?

privacy is a right that extends to children too, including privacy regarding their internet use

That’s not actually shutting down a romantic interpretation of their relationship. In fact that is acknowledging the romantic undertones. What I would interpret that as - and I agree with cc!Wilbur if this is the case - is that you can certainly read c!tntduo as romantic but that that is hardly the most interesting or rich angle to analyse them from.

Personally, what makes c!tntduo so engaging to me is how they have this incredibly complicated history with each other, hate each other, love each other, and still choose over and over again, to connect. They are irrevocably entwined as self made foils for each other. They have chosen again and again to deliberately mirror each other, in action, in dialogue, in theme, despite everything they both do and don’t agree on.

For me, c!tntduo is about them being all levels of fucked up together. Persuing a serious romantic relationship would be super bad for both of them actually. They’re not healthy together. But they do need each other. They can’t escape each other now.

That’s where the appeal of the duo lies. Which, at least to me, is a far more interesting character study and exploration of what people can mean to each other than whether they kiss or not.

You don't HAVE to keep up a quota of X number of pictures to post online to "not loose relevance" in "the community", it's OK if you miss a "male V monday" or "thirsty thursday" or any other themed day, you DON'T HAVE to DO anything 🙏

Your OCs, lore, headcanons, ships- nothing will get erased, everything will still be waiting for you once the necessary mods will get updated post PL
