I've been told my comic feels like it was written by AI.

I suppose I'm not trying to be groundbreaking. I'm not interested in pioneering genres. I'm not writing for the purpose of literary analysis.

But written by AI...?

I'm already someone who has my humanity questioned. My identity erased. My existence disrespected. It could be worse. Anything could be worse.

But AI?

I spend weeks writing single scenes, toiling over the implications of single lines. I have goals. My writing has intent.

If you cared to read deeper, perhaps you'd see the themes. Maybe then you'd see the value. If you tried to analyze it maybe you'd see something there.

Maybe you'd see me.

Someone told me my comic seemed like it was written by AI.

And my humanity was denied one step further in that my voice was not seen in the work I've poured years of my life into.

thinking abt how one of the defining traits of metal sonic who's supposed to be this cold unfeeling machine is that they completely block out logical thinking to blindly attack sonic whenever they cross paths.. attacks him like an animal, not like a killing machine. attacks him in the way that only someone who feels an obsessive hatred could attack someone.. idk.. something something their most defining trait disproves what is allegedly their other most defining trait.. if that is the case then who are they at all?

From here on out when making posts about transformers stuff I love I’m not gonna put in a footnote every time about how much other bad stuff there also is in the franchise/fandom. Cause trying to keep posts well rounded and faithful to the entire tf fandom as a whole every single time is so exhausting and also the tf fandom sucks? Additionally it’s too large. OKAY SO. be not afraid :) come here this is a completely normal hospital

basically rhythm doctor is a game where you must defibrillate patients in time with the rhythm! it's not quite as hard as rhythm heaven or anything at least IMO, but it's really addictive and i love the characters a lot!!! there's a lot of cool gimmicks and stuff but all you need is one button so you don't have to grapple with remembering controls along with reaction time!!! you can also have accessibility modes like very easy and unmissable which i appreciate a lot as a particularly shitty gamer

you are working with an overworked skeleton crew comprised of the computer nerd ian, the doctor who mainly does in-person check-ups-- Ada Paige-- and their boss who sits and stares at a clipboard while judging you at every turn, Dr. Edega! you are meanwhile a remote intern who's job is to press the button in time with the music.

there are multiple jokes about the fact that you are only ever seen as a hand. people just start assuming you are only a hand.

the rhythm doctor program means that you are canonically using the game's mechanics to defibrillate all the patients and yes their heartbeats are just like that. they sync up music to the erratic heartbeats in order to soothe arrhythmia and get people back on their feet!

the characters interact with each other in a way that genuinely makes the hospital feel alive and it's just so nice to watch them interact together, especially when the one-off characters just stick their heads into the conversation randomly. my favorite is absolutely samurai.

look at this guy. look at him. he's great. he parties at clubs and plays baseball. why is he dressing up in this in modern day? why does he never take the armor off? who knows but he's silly

you're also facing off with a virus named Connectifa Abortus that uses advantage of your remote connection, and jams your signals because it can do that. it just can. also it is possibly sentient and very malicious

that's the spoiler free synopsis but you should..... buy it on steam................................... now. :)

it's only 16 bucks and works on windows, mac, and linux!!! it also is early access so chances are by getting it early you're getting it for a cheaper price!!!!!!

PLUS if you've ever heard of A Dance Of Ice And Fire it's the same ppl. 7th beat games. it's so good. play it.

not to bring up mass effect but that’s one of the most interesting things it ever posited when it came to the idea of organic vs artificial intelligence. a machine, if sentient, knows who created it and why it was created. and a person will never know that. like, even lacking spirituality, even if you ascribe all this to random cause-and-effect, that doesn’t actually get you any closer to understanding why there is a you. but a robot can look their creator in the eye, can read out the whole of its purpose, and know that no matter what it modifies, this is what it was made to be. and what if it was made limited, or flawed, or shackled. there are elements of that a person can relate to, maybe understand, but not all of it, not enough to fathom how different the experience of the world is when you have no questions about your origins.

#also not to talk about mass effect but this is whyyy i love the geth so much. it feels like this would be something you could easily take #in a cold and logical direction because of this whole. lack of questions.#but the geth are so brimming with this sort of. faith. you know? its written into every way they’re referred to. they call the reapers the #old gods. older. we must assume. referring not just to them but to the quarians.#they call splinters of their hivemind that disagree ‘heretics’. legion accepts that name specifically because of its implications.#for a whole game the geth are mindless enemies and then suddenly they’re a *people*. and legion takes the name of a biblical demon.#we’re getting off topic here but its mass effect let me ramble. AI are banned because this fundamental difference in worldview makes them #unpredictable to organic life. makes them dangerous. legion accepts the name of a demon. accepts what the geth are seen as and what they are #and still asks. if they have a soul. they were not made with one in mind. they know this. they know they were not created to have one.#the point of the question isn’t. objectively. do they? the point is. do you consider them to. will you treat them as if they do.#because the flipside of all of this is that you know a robot’s origins too. you know their purpose. so. could you treat something made #this way as if it has a soul.#you know? sorry im getting very pretentious here. i miss mass effect 2 and my littke guys

I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron (apart from I skipped some overly long action sequences) and I am not sure so can someone tell me whether or not Tony Stark was the baddy in that film? Because about halfway through I was sure he was but then it was maybe just an evil robot after all and I am confused because either this film was surprisingly subversive or it was about robots hitting each other.
