We've reached a new layer of not respecting mobility aid users/not seeing us as people.
Today in my class I was using my wheelchair and going towards someone to ask a question. They jumped up and grabbed someone else's cane from "in my way" and began to move it. I said no it's ok, and they said something like don't worry I'll put it back. I said no again and they returned it to where it was. I asked my question and went back to my spot. The person who's cane it was was sitting right there. They could have moved it if they thought it was in my way or if I asked them to.
A minute later I heard the cane fall over. It hadn't fallen before that but of course the abled person who moved it didn't know how to balance it properly.
Don't touch people's aids. Both myself and the other disabled person were able to handle the situation if necessary, but it didn't need to be handled because there wasn't a problem.

i will be totally honest with y’all i can’t see Hobie (ATSV) in a romantic relationship ever. like, i can’t see him seeing anybody ever as “the one” or even having multiple partners or anything. I can barely see him having friends outside of the ones he already has. I can somewhat see the “are we dating or are we not dating” thing being something he gets involved in, but not really. i think a lot of people either don’t know or just forget that he’s probably homeless and that his world is shit rn and that stuff he needs isn’t easy to come by 😭😭 and a lot of homeless people just don’t have time/energy for shit like romantic relationships and the stuff he’s doing canonically because they’re so focused on trying to survive. That’s why when I make posts about him casually flirting or whatever it’s never serious, it never goes anywhere, because honestly! Between music shows, trying to find your next meal, fighting the power, trying to find a shelter for the night, helping other homeless people and others in need as both a civilian and Spider-Man, dealing with dimensional threats, trying to find a place to get clean, i just don’t think Hobie has time to even consider it. Sure, maybe there are facilities in the HQ to make it easier, but after that stunt, i think he’d avoid using them as much as possible. do you see what i mean??

I was thinking a lot about how mimzy mentioned that "He [alsator] was the only one I knew who could pound back whiskey like a sailor, and then keep up with me on the dance floor!" Which, I adore, so much! Alastor used to dance?? Incredible
Now the reason I was thinking about this, was because we've seen that Vox also can dance! I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but the move Vox and Val do where Vox is swung like a limp noodle, really reminded me of one of my favorite styles of swing dancing! The Lindy Hop! I know it first started around 1928, and gained popularity as time went on. It's super fun, if you want check out some videos of people dancing, even today people keep that crazy lively energy with it! Anyways sorry, I really like swing dancing. Back to the point, Vox died in the 1950s? Im not sure how old he was when he died, but what I do know is that he was at the very least middle aged. Which means he would have been born still right around the perfect time for him to at the very least know of that kind of dancing! Because the Lindy Hop entered the mainstream culture and the dance really took off a little after the 1930s.
I'm guessing the dancing mimzy did, since she made it sound like it was a challenge to keep up with her, was something similar to that style of dancing even though it was never mentioned in specifics tbh
My point is, considering that Vox and Ulstor used to know each other, and maybe worked together?? It is entirely possible for them both to have had an appreciation of swing dancing, and I love the idea of Alastor introducing Vox to Mimzy (I'm guessing she might still be a dancer/singer at older clubs in hell that might still do swing dancing because why else would that still be her whole bit?) And them dancing at her club (maybe together 👀👀)
I'm SO delighted you brought up the Lindy Hop specifically because I had a whole conversation about Alastor being into it the other day. I actually didn't realize it was officially established as a type of dance only around 1928, so I'm going to gratuitously smudge the timeline of reality (or just point to the fact that it was created as an evolution of different African American solo dances that existed and were performed in Alastor's time)!
BUT I think it fits Alastor really well! On top of being in-line with Mimzy's implications of dancing together being a challenge, being able to jump like 6 feet into the air like a deer seems like a basic skill requirement. The deer boy would thrive.
As for Vox: I just think it would be hilarious if he tried anything like that shortly after he first died or back when he and Alastor were on friendlier terms, and the giant TV head was just. A non-starter. Thank goodness he has a 10 foot tall boyfriend with stilts for legs for him to dive between now, HAH.

thinking abt gender/being gnc growing up
being gnc growing up in any case absolutely sucks and I had pretty typical experiences when I was a gnc girl and when I was a gnc boy.. the difference between being a "tomboy" (socially outcasted, sexually harassed by 'other girls' as well as boys, etc) and a "faggot" (socially outcasted, sexually harassed by 'other boys', etc) was mostly who was doing the bullying and whether it was going to be more physical or psychological. being a gnc child and teenager just absolutely sucks tbh I have all the respect in the world for the little gnc babies out there
