Everyone losing it over byler not being canon when imo Will dodged a bullet. I’ve lowkey disliked Mike since he was so young I felt kind of bad about disliking him 😬

Any unpopular opinions?
(Sleepover Sunday, I guess, because I'm only getting to this now, whoops!) ALL I HAVE ARE UNPOPULAR OPINIONS, LOL. Seriously, I'm lucky I only have, like, seven followers because otherwise I'd be chased off this website with torches and pitchforks. I'll try to give a mildly spicy one and not to be too much of a bitch...we'll see...
Toni Storm's current character/gimmick is A THOUSAND times more creative and original than anything any man on that roster has done in YEARS. And the fact that she's not on this PPV card is a fucking travesty. But I'm not surprised because TK hates women, and wrestling fans simply do not show up for women's wrestling the same way they do for boring white guys doing the most generic, tired, old Heel 101 bullshit 🙂🙂🙂
Ah, fuck it, one more because I bitch about this every week anyways - that Nigel wanker on Collision is one of the worst commentators I've ever heard. He's so annoying! He spends more time putting himself over than the talent in the ring (literally the opposite of a commentator's job) and he clearly has no respect for the women because as soon as a women's match starts, he immediately starts talking about unrelated male wrestlers. Or just himself! And that's when he's not making pervy comments about them - dude makes JR sound like a feminist icon by comparison. I am uncooly judging everyone on here who thirsts over him. Come on, people, standards! Y'all gonna start thirsting over the Qanon moron next?
#Thanks for sending this in - sorry for going off and being a huge bitch!#*swirls my brandy glass from up here on my high horse* Why I could NEVER thirst over any random shitty white man in his forties! Poohoohoo!#*grumbles under my breath*#No I merely thirst over 20-something fuckboys who look like they have to call their moms on the phone every night without fail#So I really shouldn't judge but I am anyway *shrugs*#*looks both ways* OK is everyone gone? No one still paying attention?#Then a BONUS SUPER SPICY SUPER UNPOPULAR OPINION APPEARS! Read at your own risk...#Better Than You Bay Bay is some of the lamest shit I've ever seen#I already found both of those characters relentlessly uninteresting and/or stale but now they're so watered down it's UNBEARABLE#It drives me crazy how much TV time is dominated by this one thing#AND IT SIMPLY WILL NOT END!!#Max should have turned on Adam months ago then we could have moved onto something new but nooooooooooooooooooo#This thing has to DRAG ON FOREVER while the women can't get more than 30 seconds to cut a promo#Also it sucks how they took Maria out of the Kingdom just for this storyline#Because TK didn't want a GIIIIIIIRL getting her gross COOTIES all over his precious bro-tastic manfeels story#And everyone's eating this shit up with a spoon#Because nothing drives fandom crazier than two mediocre white dudes queerbaiting 🙂🙂🙂#....but like I respect other people's opinions if they enjoy it power to them! Good for y'all- at least someone's eating well#But I will never understand and I'll ALWAYS wish that a women's storyline could get half as much love and attention#....please don't hate me for this!#Is this my personal Gripebomb? LOL#*CM Punk voice* Contrary to popular belief I'm a very nice guy...

#in my unpopular opinion#it's a little weird for the phandom to get protective when media outlets talk about their relationship or ask dan about it#obviously media outlets are different from fans but the phandom was talking about it loudly when he was actively closeted#and I don't think it's particularly reasonable to expect media to follow rules largely inferred by phandom to be Dan's preference#he's a grownass man and he can set boundaries if he wants#and he knows acknowledging his relationship and doing interviews means they might ask#he might not like it but#you're really gonna blame a gay magazine for trying to have something coherent to say about a gay celebrity relationship?#i guess tbh i think the interviewer is right that the ~mystical unique~ attitude is a kinda...#dismissive of other people's relationships? a sort of exceptionalism#like obviously their relationship is special but you don't have to 'not like the other girls' it#you're one of many unique gay relationships and distancing yourself from that could definitely come off borderline homophobic#like Jimmy used to not like the other gays at the beginning of being out#there's probably an interesting essay to be written about the way that d&p use the same tactics that have erased queer relationships#throughout history#to... veil themselves even while openly discussing their relationship#but it does also make sense that an interviewer might be kinda fed up with that after centuries of erasure and queerbaiting w that approach

unpopular opinion that might go against everything I've expressed up to this point: idk if I want Trobed to be canon in the movie.
like yeah, queer representation would be amazing, and if it ends with them in any other relationship I will sue for emotional damages, but like..... part of the fun of shipping is that it's fandom-made. I think the argument that Trobed is queerbaiting mostly gets caught up on season 4, with all the boyfriend jokes, the dick checking, etc. but we also have to acknowledge that season 4 was made by the same people who made Aliens In America, obviously that doesn't speak for the writers specifically but it does give you a significant insight into the thought process behind the increase in gay jokes.
at the same time, idk how it would handle that relationship. we've seen every explicit relationship in the show go south within ten episodes and I just idk. like, they only have to handle it for two hours at most, but there are too many variables it's so iffy and aurgh, I don't know if I trust the writers to give us this one solid.
I just don't think it's very likely to happen. but if it does, if they kiss on screen and/or explicitly state "yes, we are in a relationship, and we are in love" I will bake a cake, a whole cake, with a cup and a half extra of salt. the cake will be inedible and I will eat an entire slice on camera as proof. i'll also decorate it with an apology for being wrong, this is a dead serious promise because I know for a fact it won't be canon (like 99.7% sure).
i've been consuming so much explicitly queer media recently that I regularly just forget that Troy and Abed aren't canonically together. if push comes to shove, and they aren't canon in the movie, we can always just convince each other that it is :]

(this is kind of a long post that somehow turned into lowkey a conspiracy theory but i don’t want to rewrite the start bc it was written pretty much stream of consciousness and that amuses me)
maybe this is an unpopular opinion but i don’t want byler to be spoiled lol
crumbs, sure, little things that keep us invested, but i want to go into s5 completely unawares of how it’s gonna play out. i don’t want the cast or the official socials or some random leaker to tell me what’s gonna happen beforehand.
honestly the fact that so many people involved with the show have acknowledged byler yet none of them have shot it down as a possibility is a big enough crumb for me. or the way official netflix accounts have posted promotional things with byler since s4 dropped. yeah, they don’t have any involvement with the production of the show, but if the ship is being used for marketing then it’s considered a possible sales point.
actually now that i think of it, does anybody remember the june advent calendar??? when, immediately after v1 dropped, the official netflix accounts started posting pro-byler stuff damn near every day, to the point where we made an event out of it???
at the time we all got super hyped over it and then figured it was queerbait when they didn’t get together in v2, but isn’t it mighty fuckin convenient that the netflix accounts just “coincidentally” happened to start posting pro-byler stuff as soon as v1 dropped??? because yeah, byler started picking up traction immediately after it aired, but it took a while to really get the ball rolling. they started cashing in on the byler hyper train when it was only just beginning to grow from its tiny pre-s4 presence. seeing official accounts mentioning byler probably helped to cement it in a lot of people’s radar in the gap between the volumes. and didn’t noah also start saying he shipped byler around then???
Tumblr media
POSTED ON JUNE THIRD??? only a week after v1 aired??? and ppl were so surprised by this tweet that when he was on a panel somebody asked him if he got hacked 😭😭
back then it really seemed like “oh the official accounts are queerbaiting during pride month” but A: we know noah wasn’t just saying this for nothing,he’s made it very clear that he believes it and B: why the hell would they be queerbaiting the tiny fledgling post-v1 byler audience when it was only just coming together??!?
hindsight says something was afoot here actually. they started releasing the pro-byler agenda from its tightly locked enclosure AFTER the volume where mike tells will hawkins isn’t the same without him and will brings the painting “for somebody he likes” when they go to pick mike up, IN PREPARATION for the volume where will gives said painting to mike along with an extremely emotional nameswapped love confession and mike turns around and gives a stilted and phony confession to his girlfriend. why the hell was attention being drawn to byler outside of the show itself in that interval if not to make people recontextualize what they just saw in v1??? and then when they see v2 have that recontextualization validated when will is confirmed to be both gay and in love with mike??? and to pick up on the fact that mike and el’s relationship is on more rocks than your average pile of gravel???
we know that they’ve had actors straight up lie to the audience before, too, because even if u just take noah as an example he said in a JUNE interview that will’s sexuality was up to interpretation, and then not that long at all after v2 dropped he did the iconic “will is gay and in love with mike” interview!!! and obviously he knew that will was confirmed gay when he did the first interview bc they had filmed that scene like a year earlier. so the fact that he never rlly mentioned byler, except for vaguely negatively when he was a kid, until v1 comes out and “SUDDENLY” he’s byler’s biggest warrior doesn’t mean he randomly changed his mind, it means he hadn’t been allowed to talk about it until after volume 1. after the first half of the season that made the majority of byler shippers see it as a genuine possibility and even the most likely outcome.
sorry i have no idea how much sense this makes and i’ve completely derailed whatever i was talking about at the top of this post. has anybody pointed this out??? have i pointed this out and i just forgot??? help?!!?!??

Seems to be an unpopular opinion, but I loved (even as I cried a bit) the OFMD finale. Could more have been told in the story of a character? Sure, absolutely. Could I see this ending coming 6 episodes ago? Yes, absolutely. Was it a bad ending? No.
This ep wasn't bury your gays, wasn't queerbaiting. It was a story that hits us hard, because it was meant to. But if there was going to be an ending for this character, I would rather this, than an off screen fridging of a character, or whatever bullshit supernatural tried to pull. We've been on an emotional character arc over two seasons, and while arcs can absolutely continue on in further rounds, they can also end, and sometimes should, so that we and they don't continue on an endless cycle of problem and re-growth, problem and re-growth (I'm looking at you, OUAT).
I think the hardest thing about this ending has more to do with HBO shortchanging the series by 2 eps this season. The season itself suffered in the second half by having to fit so much plot into a condensed period, that we didn't get quite the same series "downtown" that we had last season. Had we had that extra time, maybe some of the things people hating on this ep/this ending hoped for could have happened, in some fashion, that would have tempered some of the anger.
That isn't the fault of the actors or djenks. If you want to be pissed at someone, be pissed at HBO.
But as a story, this was a satisfying ending, to me. If there had to be one, I liked this one, even though it makes me sad. I will be avoiding the fuck out of the fandom though, because from what i've seen so far, so many are just so fucking toxic when the story in their head isn't what appeared on screen.
Seriously people. Fanfic. That is what it is there for.
And side note - don't get me fucking wrong. I am going to miss the fuck out of this character, if we get a 3rd season. I love the actor, I loved-to-hate/loved the character throughout the entire series thus far. But maybe it is because I've been around fandoms where there have been less satisfying character arcs with similar endings, I am, and will remain, perfectly happy with this ending we've been given.

Langa & Reki, please, for the ask game...
I'm just gonna answer these two characters together! 🌈❄
My first impression: Thought those two were the cutest. Saw Reki's skate against Shadow and thought "Oh, he has heart. I'm gonna like that one." Shadow did him so dirty though!! With Langa, I just thought he looked like he would be a quiet one.
My impression now: I definitely adore them both. Reki is my favorite character and Langa follows after.
Favorite thing about that character: Besides their personalities, I like their aesthetics. Reki's style is really colorful and I'm a sucker for colors. His hoodies are too cute and I love that his headband's expressions will match his. Langa's ice theme, I like that! Especially since it leans more on the blues and there's some black thrown in there. It matches how they are. I love that while Reki is a bit on the fiery side, his character isn't heavy with the fire/sun symbolism. Instead, it's the rainbow and hibiscus. With Langa, he's ice themed, but he isn't a cold person. He's "cool" to others, he's calm.
Least favorite thing: They made me so frustrated during their whole falling out. I hate that Reki can be so self-deprecating sometimes and I wanted to shake Langa for wanting to still skate against Adam.
Favorite line/scene: Hard to choose when it comes to these two. They have so many great scenes together. To choose I have to go with when they finally make back up and decide to add the Infinity symbol to their handshake. That was too cute! But I also like their scene where Reki pretends to be in distress and Langa is like "Don't worry, bae. I'll protect you."
Favorite interaction that character has with another: Other than with each other, I adore how they interact with the rest of the SK8 squad. Especially with Miya. To choose an interaction, I gotta go with the scene after Reki's rematch with Adam and they just pile on him to make sure he's okay and he's smiling and laughing. Love that.
A character that I wish that character would interact with more: Ooh, so many options here actually. To pick... okay, I would like to see more of Reki and Langa's time working with Oda. Like, how does Oda deal with those two when they're working at the skate shop. I'm sure they get into a lot of shenanigans. 😆
Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: I actually made a post about this for Reki! He and Yuji from Jujutsu Kaisen are like the same person, but in different genres. Hoodie wearing redheads, bright smiles, and have recognized skill that makes amazes others when they do show off those skills, yet often underestimated. Langa reminds me of Shoto Todoroki, especially after the Sports Festival. Ice people who aren't actually cold, love their mamas, talented pretty boys, and have a signature food they like.
A headcanon about that character: Okay, I ended up writing a whole series about this one! I headcanon that Reki likes to let Koyomi paint his nails from time to time. He likes colors and he doesn't mind Koyomi using him for practice. It's also nice to spend quality time with his sister and see her do something she likes. Sometimes, he'll even ask her to paint his nails blue to match Langa, who likes the idea of Reki wearing his color.
A song that reminds of that character: Shawn Wasabi's Animal Crossing. It's such a cute song! And of course, Infinity by Yuuri will always be their song. I can't think of a Langa song, but for Reki, Alessia Cara's My Kind comes to mind.
An unpopular opinion about that character: I actually didn't feel "queerbaited" at the end of the first season. Some people threw out "queerbait" because we didn't see LanReki kiss. Kiss? I was gonna ship them regardless of the ending. We at least were left to interpretation if their relationship is platonic or romantic. I don't think a ship should always be confirmed through a kiss because kissing isn't the only thing romantic couples do. They hold hands, call each other nicknames, hug, tells the other person that they make them happy, etc. Kissing isn't the only gesture used to say "I love you".
Favorite picture: There's so many of these two that I can look at all day, but to choose I'm going with these two since I have used them for edits before.

What's your opinion on Peter Parker/Wade Wilson ship? (Also considering Deadpool was a spoof/parody of Deathstroke and that Spiderman has a pretty adjacent personality to Nightwing?)
I started shipping Peter and Wade way before getting into the Sladick ship, so yeah :)
I ship it!
What made you ship it? That one comic where they are in love your honor (even if it's "just a bromance" according to those queerbaiting fucks over there at Marvel Central)
What are your favorite things about the ship? The way Wade gets better at handling his own demons when he's around Peter, and Wade's influence turns Peter into somewhat less of a little bitch. I love how they take care of each other, and Wade generally improves a lot when he has someone to take care of.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Peter doesn't deserve him. I still ship them cause they're really hot and in transformative works, fanwriters/fanartists normally do a great job with both of them, but the thing is that I'm not a big fan of comicbooks Peter Parker. I love Spiderman and I love a lot of iterations of the character (Miles is my fucking child to name one), but I don't have fond thoughts in regard of Peter Benjamin Parker - he's often depicted as an entitled, can-never-do-wrong "adorkably misogynistic" type of guy, and it really irks me. Not always and not all the time, and I love how their relationship grows in the course of that series I mentioned before, but generally speaking I think Wade deserves better. But he chose Peter, hasn't he, and so that's what he gets (which is also a dynamic I like about the ship lol)
Ask game found here! Go grab it folks!

I think he's either very uneducated, very influenced by his zi*nist friends and co-workers or very privileged so he doesn’t understand or care about geo-politics. He also a might be a coward. Or all the above. None of it would surprise me.//
IMO it´s the mixture of everything you wrote here. Uneducated, easily influenced and also even if he cares his connections to these people who made him this famous are just too strong to suddenly stop hanging out with them. And he if he has different opinion, he to acts like share their opinions evento inside? You know, similar to that story how JC yelled at staff in some restaurant and H was just there sitting in quiet doing nothing. Maybe he doesn´t even want to go into conflict with anyone especially with these people who he knows for +10 years. I don´t know but unfortunately I don´t see him suddenly stopping hanging out with these people and also no matter how much fans call him out for this, generally imo he won´t get cancelled for this because there´s still most of the fandom who I believe doesn´t care about these things because all they care about is his semi-god image, his looks and s*x life and as long as he appears on public looking cute nobody cares with who he hangs out. The bar is low for him even if there are fans like us who want him to do better and act better. It´s the same as how much the bar is low for gf harries with his stunts believing when he take a glance at his fake gf he´s immediatelly so in love and she´s the endgame.
Hi, anon!
Well, i expect better of him. Even if he doesn’t share their opinion he's silent, but he shows support though his actions. He's willingly going along with it. He's 30 years old, grow some backbone and take a stand. Harry is the bigger celebrity and the one in power here, he doesn't need to act like a meek follower of B*n's or Jam*s. If you're really friends with someone, the friendship will survive your differences of opinons and beliefs. H doesn’t need to stop being friends with them or hang out with them, he just badly need to distance himself from their beliefs and opinions, and clearly state his own beliefs and opinions.
I agree he'll be fine within the fandom, but it's everyone else calling him out on it that's his biggest issue. If he's cancelled outside the fandom and it becomes unpopular to be a fan of H because he's believed to be a zion*st, a queerbaiter and a hypocrite (someone who's preaching tpwk but is silent on genocide and his friends yelling at waiters), people are slowly going to abandon him. This issue is also something that every section of fandom is going to call him out for. Both larries, harries and gf harries are united in this. The divide is more between people who blindly idolise him and people who need better from him in order to support him.
The bar isn't that low on this issue. I think this is yet another example of people noticing that H is not perfect. The veil is coming off. It's a hard pill to swallow for most fans that H is silent on genocide and is even supporting his zioni*t friends and coworkers. I haven't seen this much discontent over H across fandom and among other fandoms ever. He's on thin ice and has been for awhile now. It will be interesting to see what happens next.

supernatural 🔥🔥🔥
i know it's a trend for people to say they hate it or that it's not that good but like. it's actually that good. it's objectively fucking great, and sure it had its problems what with the tug-o-war with some of the writers and actors, but it was objectively a very good fun show to watch and some of the storylines, especially in the earlier half of the show, were very compelling and well written.
also the best thing it ever did was queerbait because it was the funniest shit in the world that castiel said he was in gay love with dean and then promptly died. (joking here but its still so fucking funny)

This could be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but do you know what I actually love about Mike's character? He's a queer character who's just... allowed to be an absolute f**king jerk sometimes. And I know that probably sounds like a weird take when you boil it down like that, but let me explain.
So often when we get queer representation, the characters are very black and white morality-wise- either they're these perfect angels who can do nothing wrong, or they're literally the queer-coded villains of the story. While the former is definitely better than the latter here, it has the unfortunate effect of minimizing some characters' impact and complexity, since they have to be 100% perfect people all the time or else it's "bad rep". To be clear, I do think that having queer characters on screen being good, functional people is still great representation, and it shouldn't be taken for granted, but I also feel like the experiences of queer characters can often get sanitized onscreen for the sake of straight audiences "understanding" us, or not having cisallohet people take a look at a queer person doing bad things and think "oh this queer person is doing bad so I'll go use that as an excuse to be homophobic now yay!"
Plus, while bad rep does exist and absolutely should be criticized, I think that sometimes we can be so nervous about something being queerbaiting or bad representation that even minor flaws or problematic things in a story feel like they're attacks on us, creating this very binary and unuanced idea of what good representation is (rep exists on a spectrum of good and bad! there's good and bad aspects of most rep!) Of course, I don't fault anyone for feeling disappointed with some stories, and I know that different people can feel represented in different things more than others. If you really like a work, shout it from the rooftops, and if you want to criticize it, you are fully within your right to do that as a queer person! We just need more nuance in the way we think about queer rep, and we need audiences to be MUCH less homophobic, because otherwise there's this effect where queer characters can't really do bad things and behave badly without backlash from both sides (but mostly homophobes). Remember everyone calling Will a homewrecker after s4 for... having an unrequited crush on his friend? Yeah. That happened.
Well, enter Mike Wheeler. As much as we all love Mike, you have to admit, he makes a lot of bad decisions on a fairly regular basis. He blows up at his friends because of his own internalized homophobia (iT'S nOt My fAUlT yoU DoN'T lIkE gIRlS), he has his parents constantly nagging him about how he's acting out and doing badly in school, and his entire season four plotline basically consists of him... treating his girlfriend badly and then going off and having an emotional affair with someone else once she gets arrested. Okay, obviously that's kind of an unfavorable look at it, but this is what I mean! He makes bad decisions, he does bad things sometimes, but the narrative actually manages to strike a balance between making us feel sympathy for him without completely justifying all his actions. If Mike does something bad, he (usually) faces consequences and does something good about it later, to furthur his arc. He's a queer character who's allowed to screw up and be somewhat morally grey sometimes, and you know what? I love that. I love that because it feels real, and authentic, and because the Duffers aren't sugarcoating the struggles of being queer and how internalized homophobia can make you act out and be a jerk sometimes.
More importantly, Mike's actions do get called out in the narrative, but we as an audience aren't supposed to find him irredeemable or morally bankrupt just because he makes bad decisions. He's a classic anti-hero (it's me, hi, i'm the problem, it's me) in the sense that the characters in the text make him face consequences, but the writers themselves don't treat Mike like he's a bad person in the greater context of the story. It's a complicated nuance, mainly about how the characters view another character vs. how that character is treated within the story, tonally and archetypally. We as an audience can make our own decisions about Mike- is he a good person? A bad person? Likeable? Unlikeable? No one f**king knows! And the fact that we get to have a queer character who people don't unanimously like is actually really cool when you think about it!
Ugh. This was so rambly, and I'm so sorry, but istg I have so many creative writer thoughts about Mike it's not even funny. TL;DR, I personally really love Mike as a queer character, because in ST it doesn't feel like his experience is sanitized or sugarcoated for the sake of making him seem "likeable" to an audience that doesn't understand the experience of being queer. He's allowed to make mistakes, he's allowed to be somewhat morally grey sometimes, and the fact that we can have a queer character who isn't perfect for the sake of seeming appealing is just... ugh. I don't know why but I just find it so f**king cool as an english nerd. His character is so interesting, and asdfghklj- I'll stop now.
I'll finish off with this- Equality for queer people and queer representation in media WILL NOT be achieved once we have a character who's perfect, unproblematic representation. However, it will be achieved when we can have a character who makes mistakes, does bad things, even royally screws up sometimes, and no one bats an eye- because people won't be homophobic enough to use them as an example of "why queer people are bad", and queer people will be secure enough in the world so that they won't have to worry whether representation is good, bad, or somewhere in between.

Sam/Gabriel for the ship thing? Wait I just noticed the Irish flag in your bio??? Am I looking at that right. It's 3am for me,,,
Yeah I'm Irish! I'm in Mexico right now though.
Ship It
What made you ship it?
I made it toxic and evil in my mind
What are your favorite things about the ship?
hell trauma
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
I have no interest in the way 99% of fandom like it I just can see the ways in which their personality contrast and parallel both in bad and evil as well as interesting positive ways and also the LUCIFER OF IT ALL. also the sabriel queerbaiting was SO funny but i liked it.
Don’t Ship It
Why don’t you ship it?
I don't ship it in that the whole spare the pairs thing was so uninteresting to me. invest in sastiel. multiship.
What would have made you like it?
it's so evil ^^ Gabriel is so like Lucifer in SO many ways and also not at all Lucifer and that's IMPOSSIBLE to weed out of their dynamic especially given the past Sam and Gabriel have AND Gabriel has intense hell trauma too?????? hello. compelling. send me evil sabriel.
Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
yeah what i've said. also i think sabriel shippers are so valid in general who genuinely love Sam like you do your thing.

On the Fateweaver voicelines and the poll I ran last week.
(Fair warning: negativity and likely unpopular opinion)
After the results of that poll I realize that when you are handed nothing but freedom to speculate for over half a decade, Roadrat even being acknowledged as a possibility in canon is exciting...
But I need you all to recognize when you're getting no homo'd. Roadrat wasn't confirmed canon by the Fateweaver lines. It was confirmed 'no homo', and I'm so, so sorry. 😞
Any attempt to interpret it any other way requires ignoring the fact that there are openly gay characters in Overwatch that don't require subtext or headcanon to confirm. It also ignores the fact that in character, the Junkers live against the grain 24/7 and have nothing to hide.
If junkers get pride stuff next month I will apologize for being negative and I may even make content again... But I have zero faith in them. Blizzard knows what they are doing, and they chose to make a joke at our expense and many of you are taking it as a win.
I'm not into being queerbaited and then laughed at for it. I predict if Junkers get anything pride related it will be available for every character by default and Blizzard will continue riding this "hehe its not gay hehe" shit until it stops generating engagement.
(Feel free to share your views (even if you disagree) in the comments but please try to be respectful. Thanks.)
Again, I want nothing more than for the Junkers to be gay, but I think the running joke will always be on us.
Anyway, don't stop loving them, making art, writing fics, demanding they be gay from Blizzard. Just don't give Blizzard money.

Wainwright Jakobs-Hammerlock & Alistair Hammerlock-Jakobs for the ask. The classic double whammy.
Favorite thing about them: I nearly forgot to fill this one out but I love their love (wow obvious much) but also they are both very funny characters and I love their cultural differences.
Least favorite thing about them: Not enough screen time
Favorite line: Bullymong quest or the wanderlust line (hammerlock), I’m very partial to wainwright’s “love of my life” line because it really hit me when I was first playing BL3 because it was basically “oh, I’m not being queerbaited. huh” moment for me.
BrOTP: Wainwright and Clay is such a fun found family relationship and I think that FL4K and Hammerlock have some potential to thoroughly weird out everyone around them.
OTP: Each other, obviously.
nOTP: Gaige’s crush on Hammerlock in BL2 was weird I hope we all agree on that.
Random headcanon: I stand by my headcanon that Wainwright is a good amount shorter than Hammerlock, at least 6 inches if not more short dom tall sub my beloved.
Unpopular opinion: I don’t really know if I have any unpopular opinions about them.
Song I associate with them: Surprising no one, my big one for them is He’s Funny That Way (most commonly associated with Billie Holiday). Another is There Will Be No Divorce by The Mountain Goats.
Favorite picture of them: I have the GLAT cover as my desktop background on my laptop so that. This one’s up there too:

Unpopular opinion: I don't want Stranger Things to end up with Byler as canon.
And I say this as a queer person who also wants nothing but happiness for Will. It's just... One: clearly Mike is entirely enamored with El given that he couldn't stop thinking about her for a single second this season, two: if Mike is already failing at being a good friend to Will I don't know that they would be good for each other, three: I also want El to be happy and I think her and Mike deserve to pull through with their relationship, and four: not ending up with Byler being canon doesn't seem like it would be queerbaiting to me? Will is clearly canonically gay, Mike does not seem to be, and I feel like some people are upset about Mike being straight which feels kinda ridiculous to me.
I think it would be just as satisfying of an arc for Will to come to terms with his unrequited crush on Mike and realize that he can find happiness with someone else, potentially some newly introduced character for season 5 (side note it would be great if it included a conversation between Will and Robin, with Robin offering him support and shit because she knows exactly what it feels like to be in Will's situation).
Crushing on someone you can't have is tragic especially with someone like Will who is willing to put his emotions aside to help Mike and El, and a satisfying, happy ending for Will doesn't have to be Mike and Will together.

I got tagged by @tessabennet to do a
8 shows to get to know me
list and she did it as a kind of watch history and I loved that method so I am copying it
1. h2o: just add water
Tumblr media
this show defined my childhood. i was obsessed. i remember only being allowed to watch the rewatches on saturday mornings but not the premieres that came mondays through thursdays. when s3 came around my parents allowed me to record the episodes on vhs and then watch the episode the next day. when the finale aired i had a friend come over after school the next day and we watched the last two episodes even tho she already watched them the night before. in the scene where lewis walks down the stairs in slow mo she pulled out her flip phone and recorded the scene because she thought he looked so cute.
also rikki made me gay and i was always her when we played mermaids in the pool.
2. glee
Tumblr media
my first big teenage obsession. i think i started watching when season 2 was airing. the last two seasons took so fucking long to come out dubbed that it was the first time i streamed an episode right after it aired in the us even tho my english wasn't that good yet. i also got my mom and my aunt to watch it. my aunts favorite was finn and when i read that cory had died i called her right before bed to tell her and she told me later she couldn't sleep that night.
my favorite characters were quinn and kurt. quinn made me gay(er)
also i wasn't in fandom spaces back then so i managed to escape all the crazy shit that went on in the fandom back then but i have met some new friends recently who were in it and told me some horror stories and i really feel like I dodged a bullet.
3. gossip girl
Tumblr media
i only watched this show after it aired but it's so messy and a definite guily pleasure.
also unpopular opinion but my favorite character was jenny (i am also obsessed with her band and their music and covered two of their songs in my school rockband)
4. the originals
Tumblr media
i always preferred the originals over the vampire diaries because i just liked klaus and the other mikaelsons more than elena and co. i also became obsessed with the soundtrack of the show and used to listen to the tracks on youtube and would then convert my faves. that's how i discovered my love for ruelle.
5. shameless
Tumblr media
another big obsession I discovered between s4 and s5 airing. i remember crying real tears when ian and mickey broke up in s5. i think gallavich was the first pairing i watched fanedits on youtube for and also how i discovered twenty one pilots and my ultimate beloved florence and the machine. i also had a fan account on instagram at one point that got some likes from emma kenney.
6. supernatural
Tumblr media
oh supernatural.
i discovered the show at a very low point in my life and bingewatched 10 seasons back to back while staying home from school. destiel was the first ship i ever read fic for (twist and shout anyone?) and even tho this show went on for wayyyy to long and made some very questionable choices it still has a place in my heart.
7. 911
Tumblr media
at this point in time this show is probably my biggest obsession right now (probably because a new season is airing right now) i saw gifs of buck and abby on tumblr when the first season was airing in 2018 but only started watching when the spin off started and i rediscovered it via tumblr during s3. i have done multiple rewatches at this point and this show can truly make you laugh, cry, look away in disgust and believe in humanity at the same time.
also either buddie is the best slow burn of all time or the biggest queerbait since destiel and i am down for the ride.
8. young royals
Tumblr media
where do i even begin with this show. it showed up on tumblr in july of 2021 and then i watched it the second weekend of the month and my life changed. since then i have started being truly active on tumblr, creating content myself, reading fanfic earnestly and by some great writers who i can call friends now, learning swedish (even tho the bird scares me), found a bunch of friends from all over the world and flew to fucking canada all on my own to visit people i met through this show. like what the fuck. even tho my obsession is a bit dormant right now they have just started filming the third and last season and as the amount of content will grow my obsession will too. i know it.
-
okay so this was a fucking essay but i really enjoyed this little deep dive into my watch history and even tho i don't expect anyone to do this I'm gonna tag some of my lovely friends (who i may or may not have found through that small swedish show at 8.)
