4. Which comment has had the most impact on your writing?

One comment that immediately popped into my mind was @vernonfielding 's comment on Right Beside You where they said,

"I don't know what you mean about no plot, because it was very well plotted. I love how each chapter told a different story of their recovery".

It really helped me realize that I do have plot in my fics, it's just that the plot often focuses on small, character-driven moments rather than big events. It was a really important comment for me in terms of shaping how I think about structuring my fics and just in general having confidence in what I write.

5. Have you had a writer you admire comment on your fic? What was that like?

Yes, and it always brings such joy. You, for one. Also @amyscascadingtabs and MediumSizedEvil on ao3 come to mind. It’s always so cool. I can’t believe that writers that I admire are enjoying something I created!

unpopular opinion lmaoo but... i genuinely don't care if jake and amy don't kiss in the final season, i just really really don't want to see people complaining over it. i'm glad they took covid protocols really safely so they could give us this season at all! and also like they say in suicide squad they "kiss all the time just not in front of [charles]" which we all know was a message to the fans. imagine it, paint fanart, write fic, but like... let's not get super hung up on it please?? that is my one wish haha

18. What was the first movie or show that made you cry?

it was the prince of egypt. i was 6 and i remember watching it at school and hiding my tears, bc i was afraid other kids would make fun of me for crying (eventually nobody did) and i remember being so moved by this movie bc the songs were amazing and i kinda had soft spot for moses. i grew up having all sorts of catholic books for kids around the house so i was familiar with his story and i was fascinated by it as a kid.

30. What’s a movie or show you love but often forget about?

movie: little miss sunshine. i need to rewatch it bc it’s one of the greats. damn, this cast!! 

tv show: crashing. it’s phoebe waller-bridge’s first tv child and i loved it but i feel like in my mind it got upstaged by fleabag and i tend to forget about it.

💗💗💗 i relate so hard to the last post you wrote/the tags (and i have to say it was phrased beautifully, in an odd type of way, it made me think it should be a poem which i hope isn't insulting to say; it was just so poignant) and i don't know what to say more than that god, it is such a pain, and i'm sorry people make it feel even more painful than it is. you deserve someone who can take all that love, and who can give it back to you.💗 (you don't have to publish this if you don't want to)

Ahaha okay so one year in uni I lived with roommates who refused to talk to me face-to-face about roommate-related stuff and it drove me crazy. I would see one of them in the kitchen and they would ignore me and then two minutes later on our group chat they would send passive aggressive messages that I knew where aimed at me, but they would never actually address them to me. A big one was taking out the recycling, which I never did because my roommates never cleaned out their containers and it was gross so I refused to deal with their gross food-covered recycling (which btw will contaminate all the recycling and the city will throw it all in the garbage). Anyways I decided I wasn’t going to respond until one of them actually spoke to me in person or tagged me on the group chat, which I realize is an extremely petty and pretty not cool thing to do. Needless to say, we ended the year not really speaking to each other and I never did take out the recycling. Oops. 

kwazy kupcakes - what is your favorite app?

I probably use tumblr mobile the most, even though it sucks lol. The Ultimate Guitar app is super useful to me as an (amateur) musician. Although I’m mad that I bought the paid version back in the day and then they changed it to a subscription model and now I have to pay monthly even though I already owned it!!!

7) what never fails to put a smile on your face?

sitting outside in the sun and reading a book, scrolling through my phone, or even just watching the birds and whatnot :) (have you ever seen a cat sunbathing? just like that tbh)

10) talk about your favorite teacher?

lol here’s another ramble, hope you don’t mind :P

I have two, but the most recent one was my ochem professor last year. 

I hate chem. like, I thoroughly despise it. about once a month, I reconsider my decision to go into medicine because just seeing a hexagon activates my fight-or-flight response. and i’m usually pretty bad at it too – no matter how much I try, all the information I try to learn just goes in through one ear and out the other. 

the particular ochem course this professor was teaching was notorious for being the most difficult out of all the chem/ochem/biochem courses a life sciences/premed student at my college has to take. and I didn't do very well in the prerequisite class, so I definitely went into this one scared out of my mind and also prepared to sit through three months of pure hell. 

but guys. I don’t know what this professor did or what, but she seemed to sense what resources all her different students would need – in a 300+ class, mind you – and she really went out of her way to personally help as many students as she possibly could: by the end of the course, she was on a first-name basis with nearly everyone. 

without going into too much detail (because this can and will turn into an essay, otherwise), I may have been terrified going into the class, but I left with the knowledge that this is a subject that I actually do have the ability to learn and master with just a little practice – and for someone whose confidence was rock-bottom earlier, that was a huge thing. And that’s kind of what I was getting at in my earlier ask as well; I have literally never had a professor care this much about her students (and genuinely don’t believe I will again), but just knowing that an educator believes in you and will do anything to help you succeed really does do wonders for a struggling student. 

16) what’s your go-to meal when you feel down?

when I’m at school, probably something super unhealthy and full of carbs and goodness like a frozen lasagna or baked mac & cheese or even cup noodles 😋 now that I’m home, though, I’m getting spoiled w having my mom (and her uncanny ability to sense when I’m in A Mood) around to make limbu rasam (like a lemon/tomato-y broth and rice) or some other Indian comfort food whenever I need it…dunno what I’m going to do when I move back to college, tbh.
