I don’t do this usually but I feel like I’ve been super quiet lately and I REALLY liked the nails I did this week so I’m gonna showcase them!!

This week’s inspired mostly by my Dark Urge playthrough, just in very general strokes though- the star nails obviously symbolizing Astarion 🍷🦇✨✨✨

The black crackle is part about it bring the DARK urge and also just a hint towards hell in some way (lava, tiefling, all that) but also a favorite of mine in general because it matches with my skin condition ✨✨✨

Four of them, all but the ones with the gold star, glow pink in the dark (and under blacklight as well)

I think they’re about 6-7 layers of polish, counting the base coat?

I repaint them once every other week on the day after my bath, and dedicate most of the day to them as to not accidentally ruin them before they’re fully dried/cured (I don’t use gel polish)

The day after my bath isn’t really open for much with me either way as I’m still soaking in my lotion throughout the day and thus can’t really get dressed to go outside etc.

Hello! I’ve been reading the Sleuth Jesters series (currently at What’s Due and Dead) and I simply had to come tell you that I’m in awe at how you write Eclipse. Huge applause for you! The way that just his name inspires fear when mentioned, how he has so much power that he has no problem flaunting. He is so smart, and you make an excellent job making the frustration in the protagonist the reader’s own because of it. Everytime we think y/n has any modicum of control, even for a single chapter, it’s snatched away. He is so ready to make sure they know that everything that happens is because he allows it, not because they got the upper hand. And also the ways you show his mind working. Always manhandling the protag to remind them they have no agency, or say. Yet he offers them luxury to tempt them to his side. But he makes sure the space is never theirs, but his. Even when not intruding in the room whenever he wants he leaves the smell of smoke as a reminder. As a “don’t get too comfortable”. But also! He’s not perfect in what he does, even if he comes close. Protag can get a rise out of him, when defying how much he truly thinks he gets them. Which tells me he’s addicted to control to a degree that it might be his downfall. And also, as much as he might hate it, he does crave connection and he’s seeking it in protag because he knows they have things in common he cannot find anywhere else. But that connection is not offered to him and he thinks he can force it in a twisted way. He seems to be desperate for it and thinks he can make it work with his need for absolute control. Just everything about how he’s written is Chef kiss! I want to punch him. I want to know more about him. It seems he did take care of Sun and Moon at one point but destroyed and built himself back as something they couldn’t stand. I’m very excited to continue reading, and I just have to come comment on this wonderful series!

feel weird when people talk about beauty culture and say stuff about how all afab people are expected to and pressured into being part of it especially growing up as an afab person who wasn't? I get that it's the case for most afab people but I was never pressured into shaving (my mom heavily encouraged me too but not because I was afab she just thinks underarm hair is gross and wishes my cis father and brother would shave too) or wearing makeup and being feminine and was never bullied (at least to my face) for any of those things, so hearing it treated as a universal experience is kind of alienating. even more so because I experience the opposite of feeling uncomfortable and unsafe and like I'm being judged whenever I'm feminine in public and also don't even really know how to do a lot of these "mandatory" beauty stuff if/when I want to do them (where to buy and how to put on makeup/how to shave/how to style and care for growing out hair/any kind of skin care past washing it). maybe it's from iding as transmasc from a young age (though i think i was like this before then also) but. idk. there's no universal afab/amab experiences
