As you stepped through the doors of the airport, your ears rang with the roar of the fans who waited there, desperately hoping to catch a glimpse of you. Feeling a smile tug at the corner of your lips, you waved to them as you walked to your vehicle. Suddenly there was a shout as some fans broke free from behind the barricades, pouring out across the airport. Eyes flashing with panic, you turned to look at Nina and the other girls who were being swept in the opposite direction by the security team. “Y/N!” You desperately tried to grab her hand but she was already too far away, “Head for the car!” You nodded back and began to push through the crowd, with no idea of where your security team was, you grumbled under your breath. Spotting a side exit that seemed relatively clear, you made yourself as small as possible and hurried towards the door, shooting your group chat a quick message to let them know that you were okay and had made it out of the airport. 

As you felt fresh air hit your face you exhaled a breath you didn’t even know you’d been holding. Fuck had that been scary. Gazing up and down for the car, you spotted a black car up ahead. Glancing down at the registration plate number on your phone you made a dash for the car, “Oh my god is that Y/N from Eclipse?!” Shit. You didn’t even look back as you heard more people gathering behind you. Breaking out into a light jog, you made it to the vehicle just as the people behind you started their chase. Throwing the door open and haphazardly tossing your bag onto the backseat you jumped into the car and slid down in the seat with a relieved sigh as the excited fans ran right past the car not even noticing you’d jumped in. Making sure to ping your location to Nina as soon as the door was closed.

An annoyed cough drew your attention back to the situation at hand. Removing your sunglasses you looked up at the driver, Well shit. “Y-you again?!” Green eyes glared back into yours as a familiar face sat in the driver’s seat. Your mouth gaped in shock as you realised it was the same French guy from Australia. What were the chances? “This isn't funny. Get out of my car!” Your brow furrowed, “Your car? No, this is mine.” He scoffed at your obtuse attitude, “You fucking wish. Now, get out.” Your jaw twitched in annoyance. “Why the fuck are you my driver? Did you sneak past security?” He laughed, head tipping back and in any other circumstances, you would have acknowledged how handsome he looked. “Me? Sneak past security? That’s all you… Not only did you follow me in Australia but you followed me across the world? You’re crazy!” You growled under your breath pulling up the car document on your phone to prove him wrong, “Look! Car reg plate LTY3413.” He raised an eyebrow before clearing his throat, “Well this car is LFY84I8.” You froze. You’d just jumped into a random car, oh my god what if he was a stalker and he kidnapped you or- 

“So are you going to get out of my car or…” He trailed off, “Shit, fuck sorry, sorry, yes…” You fumbled around as you grabbed your bag. Looking out of the window you spotted Nina hurrying down the path with a security guard. Almost crying with relief, you threw the door open and got out of the car as quickly as you could, 

“Nina!” She turned as soon as she heard your voice, sprinting to you, “There’s a crazy fan!! He followed us all the way from Au… Australia.” You wheezed out, pointing to the car behind you. Nina’s eyes narrowed as she looked at the driver before her eyes widened in realisation, “Wait that’s-” her reply was cut off by the screech of the car as it quickly pulled away. You winced as the sound echoed, “That’s what?” Nina giggled and nudged your side, “That was Charles Leclerc… the Formula One driver?” You laughed, “You’re joking right?” Nina shook her head, “Wait, is he the guy you bumped into in Australia?” You nodded, Nina snorted out a laugh, “At least he’s cute?” You shook your head, “He’s an asshole! And he has no idea who I am!” Nina gave you a condescending look as your actual car pulled up and you climbed in with the other girls, “Okay, one, don’t ever say that again you sound like a diva and a bitch.” “Ouch.” “Just being honest love,” the other girls looked at the two of you curiously, “and two, you had no idea who he was either.” “To be fair, both times I met him were in rather high pressure situations.” You threw back at her. 

“Who is ‘he’?” Aurora asked curiously, “The mystery French guy from Australia? Yeah he’s not French, he’s Monegasque and he just so happens to be a famous F1 driver!” “You mean Charles Leclerc?” Eden asked not even looking up from her phone “So everyone knows him apart from me?!” You whined, covering your face with your hands in embarrassment. Aurora giggled, “Did you see him again or something?” Nina laughed, “She got into his car and then ran away screaming that he was a stalker.” You felt your face heat up as mortification washed over you, “The reg plate was practically the same!” You defended yourself as the girls all fell into laughter around you. Huffing you sat back in your seat, sulking all the way to the hotel.

Charles sped away as fast as possible. It was too much of a coincidence that he was bumping into you yet again. He needed to somehow work out who you were so security could keep an eye out for you. Reaching the restaurant where he was meeting some of the other drivers, he climbed out of the car and shook his head as he looked at the reg plate. He had to admit, you were very loyal to your cause. Even if that was stalking the shit out of him across the world. Locking the car and heading in, he was greeted by Alex, Lando, Carlos, Max, Pierre and George. “What’s up guys!” He waved before taking a seat next to Carlos, lowering his voice, “You remember I told you about that crazy fan in Australia?” Carlos nodded, already slightly suspicious as he sipped his drink, “well she’s here.” Carlos choked on, placing his glass back on the table as he coughed and spluttered, drawing the rest of the party’s attention, “Are you serious?!” Charles nodded, “What’s going on mon ami?” Pierre asked from the other side, Charles took a deep breath, 

“This fan followed me here all the way from Australia and today she got in my car…” “What the fuck?” Lando asked, seemingly already angry, “Are you okay mate?” George asked with a concerned look, Charles nodded, “Yeah I’m fine, just wanna forget about it to be honest.” The table all nodded before breaking into conversation; weather for the weekend, stats, who hooked up at the club last weekend, plans for summer break, until there was a lull in conversation, 

“Guys, Lily and I are going to the Eclipse concert in Rome when we’re in Italy, who wants to come with?” “Are they that girl group that blew up recently?” Max asked as Alex nodded, “Yeah, Lily is obsessed with them, their music is actually really good.” Pierre and Carlos nodded, “I’m down.” George agreed, Charles wrinkled his nose apprehensively, “I don’t know mate…” Alex passed his phone down the table to Charles, the group’s instagram page already pulled up and loaded. 

Charles took hold of Alex’s phone, scrolling through the music announcements and behind the scenes pictures until he scrolled past one that looked somewhat familiar. No. No way, it couldn’t be… could it? He scrolled down further to see more pictures of you staring back at him. He choked on air as his previous interactions with you flashed through his head. He stared at a picture of you smiling backstage and blushed slightly, when you weren’t angry or glaring you actually looked super cute, totally his type. What? He shook his head. Now was not the time to start daydreaming about a very cute girl that he’s totally offended several times. Oh fuck. He’d been an utter asshole to you… and he was about to come and watch you live?  Well shit. "You okay there Charles?" Alex called down the table watching as his friend's face contorted into an expression that could only be described as horror, awe and embarrassment. Charles shook his head dumbly, eyes still glued to the phone screen, "That-that's her." Carlos' jaw dropped open as he confirmed what he thought Charles was saying, "The girl from Australia and the airport?" Charles nodded grabbing his own phone and pulling up instagram to search for the page himself as the rest of the table broke out into laughter, "Trust you to make that mistake!" "You really didn't recognise her?" "Mate I cannot believe this!"

For the rest of the evening Charles found himself subtly stalking you on instagram, finding your personal account and scrolling through the pictures of you, some professional, some snapped by friends, some self-taken shots. With each picture that passed, he found himself smiling back whenever your smile appeared, he wished he'd seen it in person. "Charles?" A voice pulled him from his reverie and he looked up to see Pierre smirking at him, "what are you up to?" Charles cleared his throat hastily, "Liking her pictures from the look of it..." Carlos said next to him leaning in to look at his phone screen, "Liking her pictures...?" Charles looked down and felt his stomach drop at the sight of that little heart that had somehow turned red, he practically threw his phone down on the table. When had he done that? "Oh my god no! No no no! What do I do?" Max shrugged, "No good unliking it, she will have already had the notification." "Yeah along with like... thousands of others per minute, you'll be all good mate!" George tried to cheer him up as his heart raced.

Charles nodded as he put his phone down and tried to focus on the rest of dinner. Later in the evening, just as he was getting over his embarrassment, his phone buzzed with a notification... from... instagram? Gulping he picked up his phone and stared at the screen, 'thisisy/n started following you' well... so much for subtlety.

I didn’t know when it started.

At first, it was creepy. A pack of lollipops suddenly appearing inside my locker? Come on, it’s a locker for a reason, only I could unlock it, more so put stuff inside. It annoyed me, so much that I was a breath away from reporting it to the school.

But fate had a different storyline for me, and Mr. lollipop supplier (as i like to call it). Days of finding different flavored lollipops turned into weeks, and as time flew by, I grew out of my irritation. You could say that I got used to it, but never would I get used to the different notes I receive with the said sweets.

Usually, it would be the casual “good mornings” and “have a nice days”. Unknowingly, I would smile. No, more like a grin or a smirk. But I would never admit that it made me feel all giddy inside. Nope. Not ever!

Or so I thought.

It’s been two weeks since the whole set-up. I go to school, attend my morning class, go to my locker and find another pack of lollipops that I can add to my collection. I always wondered why mr. lollipop supplier decided that it would be lollipops. It could’ve been gummy bears, right? Maybe he had a special connection to the little suckers. I remember yesterday it was bubblegum, last week was peach-mango flavored, my favorite so far.

But today, bright red welcomes my eyes.

Cherry, huh? That’s too bad.

Now, don’t get me wrong! I appreciate it, of course. I would never complain about food, like ever. But the thing is, I am allergic to cherries. Yes, I get a really bad allergic reaction whenever I eat cherries, including artificial flavoring.

I didn’t want all of this to just go to waste, I’m not much of a waster, if that’s a word. So, like any normal human being, I decided to just give it to my friends! I kind of feel bad for not eating it, even though I shouldn’t because they came from a complete stranger/potential stalker, but we’re ignoring that part for obvious reasons. I don’t feel like having an allergy attack right now, not ever actually.

My thoughts were interrupted when someone came barging in.

Oh?

That’s not Suzuki sensei, rather it’s the class president.

Akaashi Keiji.

“Good morning. I apologize for the short notice, unfortunately, Suzuki sensei cannot attend math class today. Although, she did say to do an advance reading for today’s lesson. That’s all, thank you.” He said.

Queue the cheers from the students, looks like everyone’s happy about having no class, including me.

“Hey, let’s suck lollipops.” My friend told me, mimicking a sucking gesture, which honestly had a lewd look to it. Slightly baffled, I just nodded at her and laughed. Thus began their lollipop sucking, I just looked at them like they’re from another planet.

Looking back to the front of the room, I find Akaashi-san with a straight face. He’s always like that, has a poker-face with a monotonous voice, and he’s always speaking as if someone did a grave mistake to him. Like he’s mad or something, but maybe that’s just his way of speaking since he is the class president, to invoke authority, maybe? Bottom line is, he’s a scary guy.

While i was oceans deep in my thoughts, I didn’t realize that O was already staring at him, a bit too much. Noticing my rude behavior, he looked back at me and raised an eyebrow.

With my eyes widened and parted lips, I looked away.

Shit. That’s so embarrassing!

Was all i could think of. I assume he can see how flustered I am, as he was still staring at me. It was starting to get hot, like really hot. I’m not sure if that’s just me feeling flushed, or the AC is just busted. (maybe because blood is rushing thru my cheeks?!)

Saved by the bell. Students started getting out of the classroom, and so did I. I failed to notice the cheeky grins my friends gave me as they gor out of the classroom. Fumbling with my stuff, I quickly took my bag and headed out (tried to), still avoiding his gaze.

Just as i was about to go out—

“Hey, Y/N-san.”

Uh-oh.

Shit. This was not how I expected my morning to go.

I faced him, with a not-so-genuine smile on my face. “Akaashi-san! Is something the matter?” I responded. Politely, of course, shaking off the feeling of nervousness in my body.

“Forgive me. I was just wondering why you are not eating your usual lollipop just like every day?” He asked. (more like demanded but moving on)

Interesting.

How did he know that I eat lollipops every morning?

“Oh, that. Well, long-story-short, someone has been giving me a pack of lollipops every morning, today’s flavour was just not my cup of tea.” I chuckled.

“Oh… You don’t like cherries?”

Interesting, again.

I looked at him weirdly. First, he knew my usual get-up every morning, and now he knew the flavour of the lollipops?

“I’m sorry, but how did you know it was cherries?” Imagine me having the most confused face, like right now.

“Wait, you don’t know?”

“Know what?”

“I’m the one who's been giving you packs of lollipops every morning. You didn’t know?”

I-

Blink. “I had no idea.” Blink.

“I thought you knew since your friends saw me putting the lollipops in your locker one time.”

Oh, screw them! “They never told me anything. but wait! Why are you doing it, though?” I asked. Hey, I didn’t want to assume, even though I kind of know the answer now.

“Isn’t it obvious? I like you, Y/N-san.” He said with such finality in his voice, his eyes lovingly gazing at me.

“And, I was hoping you’d want to go out with me. Do you?” He asked, watching me carefully.

Hell yeah, I do!!!

Yup, this was not how I expected my day to go. I like it, though.

“Of course! I’d love to go out with you.” I smiled, genuine this time.

“That’s… That’s great! Thank you, Y/N-san.” He smiled. No, he shyly smiled.

You can say that we just stared at each other’s eyes for a good 5 minutes. I don’t hate it, but I’m definitely not complaining.

Thinking about the abundance of queer themes in horror and horror being a major influence on Invader Zim.

Like, there's a lot of essays and thinkpieces discussing how the horror genre and queerness go hand-in-hand. Whether we're talking about the abundance of queer-coded villains representing a fear of queer people or the fear of discovering ones own queerness, or if we're talking about how in general, queer people have a lot to be anxious about with many very real dangers existing as part of the background noise of their lives, so it's hard to find a horror movie that doesn't draw upon a fear that resonates in some way to the queer experience.

And like, I've already made a whole post about how the core premise of Zim is inherently queer. Zim being an actual alien already makes him an other in the human world, but he's also canonically aroace and considered "defective" even on his home planet. The show is about him trying to hide his otherness and present as normal while living with the constant dread of being exposed. Meanwhile, the show's deuteragonist is driven by a quest for acceptance from a society he doesn't conform to. A society which considers his non-conformity a mental illness, and essentially gaslights him about how they all know better than him about his own experiences when they won't even hear him out or look at his evidence because it conflicts with their predetermined biases.

But I think horror being part of the DNA of the show also contributes heavily to its inherent queerness.

Body horror and gross out horror are show staples, which often resonate especially with queer people's anxieties surrounding their autonomy, unwanted physical changes and desires, or disassociation between the body and self-identity.

Then there's the fact that horror films often utilize a formula featuring male killers or masculine monsters chasing around a female protagonist because of the perception that women are more vulnerable than men and men are more threatening than women. But because the two main characters are both male, a lot of storylines end up with one or the other of them in a traditionally feminine role. In Dark Harvest, Zim plays the part of the monster, while Dib ends up being the "final girl". Episodes like Plague of Babies, GIR Goes Crazy, and FBI Warning on the other hand, have Zim being the one stalked and menaced and frequently ending up in bondage. Then there's the Halloween episode where the climax is a direct homage to a scene from Aliens where Zim and Dib are both mimicking the roles of female characters, Ellen Ripley and Newt respectively, with Nightmare Bitters as the Xenomorph Queen.

The show's only main female character however, never plays the distressed victim role. She's generally portrayed as untouchable; too scary for anyone to mess with, smart enough to avoid trouble, and resourceful enough to get out of any situation unscathed. In Game Slave 2, she is the monster stalking a boy while in Bloaty's she's the hero rescuing her brother from Zim's clutches.

Then you've got stuff like Bestest Friend where Zim recruits a beard to try to appease people who've begun to scrutinize his private life, which then becomes the set-up for jokes about Keef being a terrifying stalker, attempting to force an intimate relationship that Zim doesn't want and which he fears will lead to his exposure.

In the Halloween episode, Dib's father turns his back on him and allows him to be institutionalized for once again making true statements about his own experiences that no one wants to listen to. In his nightmare world, the three most terrifying apparitions are his father, his sister, and his teacher, whose main goal is to strap him to a table and open up his head. Meanwhile, the nightmare version of himself is in a straight jacket with a lobotomy scar across his forehead.

Hospitals and mental institutions are horror staples, and within the show's context it makes sense for Dib to be afraid of them since he's always being called crazy for believing in the paranormal. But until relatively recently, queerness has in many places been medicalized as a mental illness and queer people have been subjected to involuntary commitment in medical institutions where "treatment" included things like shock therapy and lobotomy. Even today, conversion therapy still exists as an ever-present threat to LGBT people with non-accepting families and community members, such as school teachers, who are willing to out them out of disdain or a misguided belief that it's for their own good.

The show's horror elements may not have been intended to amplify the already inherently queer themes baked into the show's premise, but it certainly doesn't detract from it.

Happy to report @maleficent-cannoli that I am liking this show! Though admittedly, I am finding the plot and mythology kind of hard to follow, and I don’t really get what Khatha and Dome’s whole deal is. Mostly it’s just fun and not really that scary at all (more creepy and often gross).

I don’t usually go for monster of the week so I’m surprised to say that so far the different side stories in each episode are the most interesting part for me. Maybe just because of all the cameos, but also some of the ideas are cool.

I’ve only just finished the third episode but it was my favorite so far. I liked the idea of memory moths paired with the creepy stalker ex (though the way it ended sent a weird message). This is my first time seeing Bright in a het storyline and I have to say, it is significantly more convincing than his attempts at BL. He’s also weirdly good at playing the unhinged psychosexual thriller vibe.

Anyway I’m gonna keep watching!

When we first meet Jimmy/Steve I was honestly scared for Fiona’s life. The way he immediately inserted himself into the family was scary and I was convinced something bad was going to happen. I did warm up to him and enjoy his Brazilian drug dealer storyline. I loved Beto. But I also couldn’t shake the stalker vibes from season one.

Fears

Fear is normal, it is an emotion that keeps us human.

We as humans, are driven by a lot of different factors— and emotions are one of those.

Fear has kept me up at night. Fear has made me think about countless scenarios and possibilities of what i fear of, get me.

I have instilled a lot of fears within. I've spent too much time on the internet in the past and had explored different surfaces of the internet.

Purple guy, was one of the example of my fear when I was around in the age of ten. The Five Nights at Freddy's (FNaF) is a game and was released in 2014 to be played by millions.

By the time it was released, Markiplier, a favourite youtuber of mine had a series of gameplays about it. The game FNaF was about a night guard (which is played by the player), being sent to an abandoned pizzeria for a nightshift and observing all the scenarios throughout the whole night until 6am, without knowing about the unnatural and horrible things that was about to go down.

Purple guy wasn't introduced until the second game of FNaF was released, whereas the game featured minigames in order to tell a better story within the main plot.

Along the series of this game, he is the main antagonist and serial killer who is directly responsible for the murder of the young children. He had tricked several young children; murdered them; and stuffed the corpses in his personal built animatronic suits(As per the minigames of the game has shown). Though after getting away with the crimes he had committed, he still had his miserable end and died in this very animatronic suit where he had tricked several of his victims:

I was actually impressed by how Scott Cawthon, the creator of this game, had me on edge every night just by imagining purple guy popping out from any corner of my room. I was a kid with a very imaginative mind and I was exposed to the internet without any restrictions, so the tailored story about purple guy alone was very scary for me.

I've also come to realize that maybe I am not an avid fan of real life horror stories, since it scares me and really makes me wary of my surroundings. I take this game as another display of my fear, Fears to Fathom: Norwood Hitchhike. This is another series of games under Fears To Fathom, where the game developers have made each games from the stories submitted by anonymous users. Norwood Hitchhike was about creepy motels, cults, and a stalker which I wouldn't go into detail because this game just gives me the horrifying chills whenever I think about it.

Another favourite youtuber of mine, Jacksepticeye, played two games of FtF and this was the last video I've watched of it since there was no latest release of another game yet.

Throughout the game, it made me uncomfortable because I thought at every corner the player creeps on would have jumpscares. Little did I know that the whole setting and scenarios of the gameplay itself was far more scarier than the anticipation for jumpscares.

The plot in this game episode was about a woman who was an interstate driver and drove along a path where unusual and goosebumping events went down. Unknowingly, if you aren't attentive enough to details, a creepy man will be stalking the player when the character went to a nearby gasoline. Thus, leading to eerie events.

Games like these, applying the most real life acts and situations, does activate a fear in me. For instance, being a night guard at Freddy's Pizzeria from the game FNaF and surviving the whole night without dying by looking out for your power consumption due to possessed animatronics. The Fears to Fathom (FtF) using the most realistic storyline and then incorporating it with such creepiness, fills my head with a lot of nerve-wracking scenarios in real life.

Whenever I think about these scenarios in games and try to reflect it in real life, of course it never fails to kick in the fear bar alive in me. Despite gaining a fear from events like these, I cope through the conditioning of my mind. Conditioning my mind beforehand whereas I encourage myself to think about thoughts that will definitely help me go through along to the end of the day where I am still alive. Having these kind of fears sure are unavoidable, but having a healthy way of coping from it will surely help you stay sane.

Ongoing Series - Thai

Not Me (YouTube) Ep 5 - OffGun still crackle on screen together. The parkour jumping thing was, erm, silly. Gram’s info-dumping in this episode showed us exactly why Not Me has no product placement. Also, I want a twist to be that Black was in love with Gram and gave the card. 

Love Area Part 2 (GaGa) Ep 1 - this is basically a continuation of the previous “season” - let’s be fair this is a 12 ep BL that they split into 6 & 6 for reasons of lockdown. Anyway the first half of this first ep is recap. Val & Toon are painfully endearingly awkward, but Toon cannot possibly be that dense about either seme’s intentions. King, Peat & Ice are more interesting to me, but their plot is dealing with domestic abuse and mental health issues which might be too much for me in a BL. There was a fun commentary on the Pink Milk = uke trope. New character Jun is VERY fascinating. So far, Jun is agender in both speech and appearance. Jun uses ha instead of krap/kha. So this show might be worth watching if only for Jun. 

Something in My Room (Ch3Thailand, YouTube) Ep 1 - It’s cute, basically He’s Coming To Me meets So Much In Love and not really scary at all (which I like). Also, nice to see Nut in a new role so different from Solo.  I’ll keep watching. 

Gen Y 2 (grey) Ep 5 - It was totally nonsensical this ep. I spent most of the tome missing ForthBeam. Updated the live blog here. 

Paint with Love (Gaga) Ep 9 - At least stuff happened? Except now the side dishes have gone wonky. GREAT KISS THO. Soem of the domestic bits were cute, I guess? Still, what is going on with thi show? 

You’re My Sky (Viki) Ep 3 - I’m not into the main basketball couple at all. The puppy/nerd-tsundere are cute but he’s a bit too stalker aggressive, still kinda MarkKit vibes. Frankly the cheater couple have by far the best chemistry (bummer because I hate the storyline) but I do love a shy grump vs a flirty playful boy. 

Bad Buddy (YouTube) Ep 12 fin - The bar has been raised, Thailand. This ending was unexpectedly satisfying if not typical romance-y. I give Bad Buddy a solid 9/10 mostly because of crazy good acting and all the queer affirmation and effort put in to specifically subvert damaging Thai BL tropes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED I finished the live blog here and full review here. 

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Behind Cut (Korea - Viki) Ep 7 & 8 fin - honestly last week I thought this one was working itself to be something special, but then they did the old break ‘em up until a year later for no good reason K-drama (specialty of the house) and fubbed the landing. It’s fine, but no more than fine. Pretty much My Sweet Dear level so 8/10. RECOMMENDED, just don’t expect it to exceed the bounds of KBL’s narrow scope. The best bits were the dating scenes and it drifted from there. Full review here.

Color Rush 2 (Korea - Viki) Ep 1-2 - I like it. The new seme character, Se Hyun (played by Hyuk of VIXX) is a bit sinister while also reminding me a little of Sam Lin (always a good thing). Se Hyun is a very different personality from Yoo Han and I liked that they didn’t try to repeat the pattern. Frankly Hyuk is a better actor than Hwall (no offense to any B out there) and these two actors have better chemistry, even though we’ve been told this will be a bromance. Regardless, I want to find out what’s going on in this weird little universe so I’ll probubly stick with this show until the bitter end no matter what, and even knowing it’s likely to be ultimately unsatisfying. 

Rainbow Prince (Pinoy musical - YouTube) Ep 2 - Remains stupid glorious. Started out with actual 1950s level Disney tinkle music. Creepy stalker ex-bf is creepy but the prince needs a job. Honestly it’s kinda acted like its a cartoon for children. I don’t know where I am with this show but I do not care. 

The Next Door Crush (Vietnam - YouTube) Ep 4 - didn’t drop, again. I might be giving this series a dnf at this juncture. It wasn’t wowing me anyway. 

You Are My Stupid Boy Ep 1-2 (Vietnam season 2 YouTube) - is a continuation of 2 existing couples Couple 1 (Troung & Khoa) from You Are My Sunshine and Couple 2 from Stupid Boys, Stupid Love (who I like better). SBSL couple brings with them a supportive female bestie who immediately goes up against the resident faen fatalle threatening YAMS couple. AKA the Anti-Faen Fatal... explosion immanent. I like it okay, but it’s a quar project (a bit talky and slow) and you probubly should watch the first two series first. Luckily they’re on YT under the same parent channel. 

Mr Cinderella (Vietnam - YouTube) Ep 8 fin - these two are great flirts and good kissers. We got a fabulously (and quintessentially Vietnamese) domestic ending. Technically this should probubly still get a 7/10 when compared to, say, the Thai stuff, but it just that much better than previous Vietnamese BLs and I’m giving it an 8/10. RECOMMENDED. 

In Case You Missed It

Thai BL short ZMaj sort just a min music video but with a little dialogue. 2 boys work at a cafe and a breakup drives them together. That’s James (Beer in Oxygen) & Nat from upcoming Bed Friend & Middleman’s Love. 

Gossip

The Thai redo of Love Stage!! looks a lot more like the original manga or anime. I’m excited about that a lot, actually, since I was very disappointed with the Japanese live action version. It looks like Thailand is brave enough to do the cross dressing element (could go horribly wrong but Turbo is gonna be SO pretty) and Kaownah actually looks like a great Ryo, less slapstick and more of a gentleman. This series will be long enough to deal with the BL side couple of the brother and the house manager too (younger seme, older uke, plus somewhat whipping boy). So yeah, you can tell, I’m excited. It’s a first for Thailand too, doing its own adaptation of something Japan has already tackled. Let’s see how Thai they can make it! You can watch the trailer here. I might be expecting to much from this one. 

Next Week Looks Like This:

One Love (unknown) & Physical Therapy (GaGa) both start tomorrow (Sunday). Physical Therapy has been described as “bittersweet” so WATCH OUT. My Ride (unknown) is supposed to start Thurs. For Friday Enchante will be taking over Bad Buddy’s time slot (on GMMTV’s YouTube) and The Love of Winter (YouTube) also starts. Love Stage!! is supposed to start Saturday (Aisplay - no idea on international) and Restart(ed) on Sunday (unknown). 

I’ve officially given up on Tell The World I Love You. I want to see it. But doubt I ever will. It’s been nearly a year and it’s still no where near out.

rating spirit halloween’s new animatronics for 2021

or at least what’s showing as New Arrivals on the site for me. looks like we got 15 new arrivals listed here and im HYPE about them so here we go

the caretaker

pretty standard reaper character with a Gravedigger theme to it. hes... fine? nothing about this particularly stands out to me, but i dont dislike it at all. i like his gravestone. would be good for a graveyard set. i guess ill give him... 6.5/10

mr. dark

at first glance he also just looks like a standard reaper character (or voldemort. he definitely looks like voldemort now that i think about it) but it turns out he SPRINGS UP RIDICULOUSLY TALL LIKE A CURSED WACKY INFLATABLE TUBE MAN and the spring motion in the video is actually really fucking fast so, while this isn’t a lot different from other jumpscare animatronics, i gotta give him credit bc i guarantee this would have scared the fuck outta me in person. according to the site he’s almost 9 feet tall at his full height 

i expected him to jump out and scream but i did not expect. That. i feel like if you put him up on a stage or something to make him loom over people even more he’d be very menacing indeed. would also be really good if you put him behind something so you don’t see him until he's suddenly There

pretty much just a zombie but he’s cute i like him. i like the green eyes. i dont know what it is about him in motion but the video makes him kind of endearing to me for some reason and i dont know why. 6/10

at first for some reason i thought the monster’s name was ophelia but i think that’s supposed to be the name of the victim? i think the idea here is “girl haunted by a Nightmare” but the fact that the monster itself is so small and doesn’t actually have a body for the most part makes this unintentionally hilarious to me 

like. it. it’s so small. it’s just a little shoulder demon. it’s so cute

anyway i like how the girl’s eyes move back and forth but the sounds she makes are uncomfortable and she just looks so. stiff and solid and there doesn’t seem to be any movement at all other than her eyes and the monster peeking out so it’s just kind of weird to look at. it’s an interesting concept but the execution is just strange and unintentionally hilarious. 7/10 bc i still think its really funny 

someone should buy this and mod it into chrona and ragnarok

WE DID IT KIDS WE FINALLY GOT A FEMALE CLOWN ANIMATRONIC im so happy i could cry i wish my store had her set up i want to meet her  

i love how they have her hanging upside down like this, it makes it so much more visually interesting than the figures that just kinda stand there looking spooky, even though she doesn’t really Do much (she just swings and her head moves around a little, just laughs, doesn’t have spoken lines) 

i love her outfit i love her hair shes SO cute i love this little murder gremlin i love her i love her 

im still waiting on spirit to give us a female clown figure that isn’t “creepy little girl” (ive commented before on how their only female figures tend to be either the Old Hag or the Creepy Little Girl and not a lot else) but i absolutely love this all the same 20/10

i dont think ive ever seen spirit do characters that are related to each other like this that’s so cute,

apparently his wife/harriet’s mother left them and ran off with the ringmaster. he’s a single father clown trying to raise his evil daughter clown and i support him wholeheartedly

there doesn’t seem to be any more animatronics on this storyline, we don’t have the mother here and the only ringmaster animatronic they have is the rotten ringmaster who was released previously, but i doubt he’s the homewrecker ringmaster in question. he Could Be. imagine if your wife left you for That. we dont even know if henry’s wife was also a clown or not. spirit halloween clown lore going on here

anyway i absolutely LOVE this clown, he does something INCREDIBLY STARTLING AND UNEXPECTED which i dont want to spoil for you. go watch his video and see what he does its great 

my absolute favorite type of halloween animatronic is the “does something completely unexpected” category and this one is ALSO a clown and a GOOD clown at that

and he’s got this great vintage clown style i really like, i love scary clowns like this that actually look like they could believably be a real guy and not just some kind of mutant Clown Monster 

and hes got cards!! card suit motif!!! i love it i love him this is a great clown 20/10 for him too

we have this one at my local store and listen to me. im completely obsessed with this ghost

it’s pretty much just a ghost but it’s SUCH A GOOD ghost. especially in this photo here with proper spooky lighting and everything. i would absolutely LOVE to see this in a haunt attraction, it looks SO good even in bright store lighting. i feel like this under the right lights and in the right environment could look SO fuckign cool  

the shredded rag look!!! the ethereal glow!! the weird jellyfishy movement!!! the classic wooOoO oO o o ooo noises!! this may perhaps be the ideal ghost. it is without flaw. a perfect specimen. i fuckign LOVE this ghost i want it so badly but i do not have the space or the money for this thing 15/10 w. raith my beloved. my true love. maybe one day 

buzzsaw

at first i was slightly disappointed to see that this guy didn’t have an actual name, but then in the description apparently his name is Bill “Buzzsaw” Jackson and his backstory is he tried to be a wrestler but it didnt go very well so he grafted weapons in place of his hands. i guess. you know, to be better at wrestling. i dont really understand it and i definitely would not have gone with “disgraced former wrestler” as the concept for this guy  

but anyway we have mr jackson at my store right now, he’s Big, i like him. he doesn’t really move very fast and doesn’t jump at you, he just kinda swings his saw around. for some reason he just seems friendly to me and i dont know why. makes me think of like an uncle dressed up for halloween rather than an actual murderer guy. i dont know i cant explain it but i like him hes my friend 8/10

wacky mole

this guy’s also at my store this year, i didn’t know his name was wacky mole fsdgjsdg

he’s listed as a new arrival, but i thought i remembered seeing him before, and the description says he’s a returning fan favorite, so. i guess this is a re-release 

anyway pretty standard Scary Monster Clown. his teeth look like candy corn. i like it but i think they should just Be candy corn. i like his colorscheme and his silly giant buttons. light up eyes are always a nice touch. he doesnt really stand out but hes overall a pretty good clown. 7/10

good ol’ classic skeleton. he’s pretty nicely modeled though and i highly recommend watching the video for this guy because he moves REALLY well for a spirit animatronic, he’s got a way wider range of movement than most of them do and his head moves really nicely. one of the benefits of a skeleton animatronic is you don’t have to deal with lip movement, so his jaw movements match with his lines a lot more realistically. i like the animated glowing eyes too, it really gives him a lot of personality. he’s really interesting to watch. like, it’s just a skeleton, but it’s a really really good skeleton, so, 8/10 

BEETLEJUICE!!

i love love love franchise character animatronics and spirit has so much great beetlejuice stuff this seems well suited to them but looking at it............. hm. hm

he just looks so. stiff and his face comes across like, deer caught in the headlights to me. it Does Not look very natural but it looks slightly better in motion (he just swivels from side to side and says a few phrases but it somehow looks less. shellshocked when he’s moving) 

maybe not the greatest execution but maybe he looks better in person and im still hype to see him so 8/10 regardless 

night stalker

we have this guy at my store too, im still not really sure what’s going on with his arms (did he just rip loose from them and leave them behind? did someone do this to him? i dont know) but i love a good spooky scarecrow. love his Wiggles. hes a pretty good boy. 6.5/10

here we have another pennywise, it pretty much just pops out at you, but it’s still pretty good. i like the full size one they had before better, but this one’s slightly cheaper and would be easier to integrate into a haunted house attraction since he comes with a built in set piece. it looks good but doesn’t do much. 7.5/10 i guess

anyway hes got kind of the same issue beetlejuice has where the figure just. looks kind of stiff, and he looks more like a spooky ghost decoration than like, A Person. he doesnt seem to have any lines or anything either, he just kinda pops out. but then again i guess whenever we see ghostface in person in the movies he doesn’t usually talk anyway. i dont really know how id make this better but it seems a little underwhelming somehow. still hype to see it though. 7/10 i guess 

now if we could just get a jack torrance and a bela lugosi dracula id be content 

i would LOVE to see Red from Us but i doubt they’d do one. my other horror beloved is norman bates but i know if they made one of him it’d just be him in a dress waving a knife around (not that i wouldn’t still be hype to see him, but, y’know) (anyway. tangent. moving on)

it’s. a werewolf. he howls. that’s....... about it 

it’s a very nice looking werewolf, it’s a well designed figure and definitely looks very imposing, but it’s... just a werewolf. there’s not really anything particularly interesting or creative here. its a perfectly good werewolf. i dont have anything to say about this. 6.5/10 

i also just am not a werewolf person so maybe someone out there who has a greater appreciation for werewolves might like him more

This is going to be out of the blue and there's no need for a response to it, but I guess I feel like some of you deserve to get a peek behind my armour.

Facebook just gave me a memory from 7 years ago, showing me an album that I'd rather not see quite honestly, but you know when you're just drawn in even though you know it's against your better judgement? Yep, that was me just now.

The album is full of screenshots of the absolute shit ton of crap that I've had on the Internet over the years.

I was in the RP world for ten years, and in that time I was verbally and mentally attacked a lot, I was mentally abused, I was stalked, I was blamed for things I never did, I was used as a scapegoat for things I never did. I was the victim of unwarranted attacks that had my accounts deleted by fb so that I lost YEARS of writing.

I got my heart broken over and over again by people that claimed tk be my friends, people that claimed to love me but that were all too happy to dump me the second a better option came along. People that I sat up all night with, that I lost sleep over, that I went out of my way to help and support.

Some of them lied to me so throughly that they lied about who they were, where they lived, their job, their gender, their nationality, what other characters /accounts they had and everything else you could think of for over TWO years.

I've had one that claimed to be my best friend, sit on my couch, my actual couch, in my house and lie to my face. Lie to me and his long term partner and mother of his three kids that he wasnt cheating with a cheap bitch he met online (the third person he'd done it with I found out after) I only found out about her when she messaged me to tell me.

I stopped talking to him, after their friends started a smear campaign against me, and even then EVEN THEN, I talked it out and started talking to him again. But he turned it around and started blaming me and guilt tripping me again. So I cut him off. He stalked me. Like messaging my friend, posting things to me (actual letters through the mail) making new accounts to message me, buying new phone sims to call me. This was 6 years ago. He called me at the start of lockdown and left a message on my voicemail.

This man mentally abused me. He'd force me to talk to him when I had a problem and then he'd not like what I said, so he'd go silent and ignore me for up to three days, to the point that I'd worked myself up so much that I was apologising, that I was taking the blame for having feelings, only when he got that would he talk to me.

He was an alcoholic who worked in care if you can believe that, I supported him through him getting sober again, he still did all that to me.

I gave up on role play and let my character, my home, the one place I felt comfortable and safe, up. And I didn't go back for two years. I got talked around by someone, they made promises, I stupidly fell for it.

I then got used to bring their character back and to help them sort out storylines. I was then told they didn't want to work with me anymore because they had too much going on in their personal life, they blocked me and I then got screenshots that that had another writing partner already.

That broke me. That broke me and fandom and people and everything really.

I vowed never to go back.

Then I stumbled upon you lot. And I told myself not to get involved, not to start talking to anyone, not to start trusting again. Now look! Now bloody look!

I'm what... 500k + in a story that was never meant to be, I'm actually writing and collabing with people again and I have a character that I adore and feel just as comfortable with... And that is fucking scary.

It's sooooo scary. Like terrifying scary to me.

Because I'm having to trust again. Selene is like public property now, and I love how much everyone has accepted and adopted her and how they use her and write her too, that warms this cold, dead, suspicious heart of mine.

Because I can honestly say that Selene and John saved me and my sanity.

I am quite a sociable person, I love to chat to people and if I'm your friend I will go out of my way to do my best for you, to be there for you and to support you in every way I can. But I know I can be used and I dotn always see the bad in people. So I cut myself off and refused to allow myself to make friends again.

I was writing my novels and that was it. No interaction, no fun really. Then this loud mouthed witch blazed into my head, took one look at the spaceman and said "that one, he's mine, wrap him up I'll take him to go" and here she is.

They made writing fun again, they made it spontaneous and exciting, I suddenly had ideas again, people to talk to about the characters I love and it was hard. Because it was also good.

I had to trust the process, trust Selene.

But I'm also so wary. I'm wary that I'm gonna piss people off, that I'm going to annoy people with her and that people hate her. I know people don't like OCs' and I get major anxiety about that.

I've never had this amount of anxiety over stories before, never. Not my rp, not my novels, not the ones I did for class or competitions, nothing. This is singularly the most stressful writing I've ever done. Because these boys, they mean the world to me, they always have. They have always been my happy place since I was 5/6, they have always been my heart and home.

The problems I had in rp made me not like the books that I loved, the fandom I was in, because of peoples interpretations of the characters, the way they played them and the fact that they were so nasty to me. And I really really don't want that to happen here.

A few weeks ago I noticed that an account had bene set up that was clearly a piss take of me, of this account. And all the old fears and anxiety came rushing back. I instantly went running to Squiddy and Olliepig and basically tumbled around the group chat in a mess for a few minutes before I calmed down and realised what was going on and had a guess at who it could be.

But it's scary. Because I've been stalked, I've been badmouthed, I've had people make fake accounts of me to cause trouble, and it weighs on me.

Willow Salix is my author name, I had to choose that because my Pagan name (which I was writing under and still do on ff and a03) was too well known and my stalkers were reporting it every time I made a new account.

I had to come to love this name, come to see it as myself (willow is my actual real name btw) and feel comfortable with it. It's taken a long time, I've built my brand from it. I have five novels out under it. And to think of someone having an account with even a parody of that name gave me all sorts of chills.

I'm OK now, but yeah. Fun times.

So I guess... I just want people to talk to me. And I don't mean shine by ego lol, I mean that if I ever do anything to piss you off. If I ever say anything you don't like. If I ever annoy you with Selene or anything at all, PLEASE just come and talk to me.

I might put on a tough mask, and in general I am pretty hardy, but I'm a typical cancerian, hard outer shell, squishy inside.

Selene is my sanity in a home life that is far from easy, I won't go into major details but disabled husband, I'm a full time carer, he's majorly depressed and it's just... Yeah. Anyway, she's my refuge, she's my escape right now.

Actually making a side blog for her took so much guts, to allow her free rein to speak and act is scary as heck for me. Because I've been there and vowed to never go back.

The only good thing I took out of all my years of rp, apart from being able to make up a story pretty much on the spot, spontaneous replies, dialogue skills and character development, is my best friend in all the world @endellionaeternus who has seen it all and stuck by me through it all.

I have no real idea why I just typed all this, I guess I needed people to see where I'm coming from, and why Selene exists.

SPOOKY/ NON SPOOKY BLS TO WATCH IN HALLOWEEN

Happy Spooky Season BL Fans! Honestly so sad that in Halloween we can't really fully enjoy it due to the pandemic out there. So why not stay at home and have a fun night in during this spooky month watching BLS with spooky/entertaining shows to get you into the spirits. Surprisingly there was a lot of shows from different countries I could add to this list. Join me and let me know what shows you plan to watch for this Halloween! 

Ratings: From 1 to 5 (1 being least excited to watch, 5 being most,) how excited am I to delve into these shows/again? 

Korea

1. Antique

Ratings: 4/5 Genre/Themes: Psychology, Thriller, Bakery,  Bromance, Open ending/Happy ending. Country: Korea Verdict: Weirdly, this is one of my favourite BL movies, to be honest, most Korean movies just make me happy despite the sense that you can feel it's censored more than it has to be. Either way antique is so fun to watch, at first you're watching about this guy who hates cakes and sweets, but it is determined to start a bakery to find out some weird stalker who is kidnapping kids, and you're like wait what? As we delve deeper into his past, it becomes horrifying, terrifying and also just intriguing to find out what made him the way he is and how it's affected him psychologically. Add a twist of BL with someone who absolutely loves him and helps him with his bakery, and it's cute and lovely to see.

2. Method Ratings: 4/5 Genre/Themes: Psychology, Thriller, Romance, Tragedy, Acting industry, Internalised Homophobia Country: Korea Verdict: Korea is so good at producing these deep movies that really make you think and analyse whilst still having this haunting introduction to couples that are tragically affected by Internalised Homophobia in Korea. Method may seem like just an artistic story about two people who are being fake with each other, and it does seem that way at the end but when you actually look at it deeply you'd see it's a tragic love story about two people who couldn't fight society with their love for each other and decided to use facades to hide what truly happened. Anyway brilliant show, very thrilling and scary at times towards the ending especially about the psychology of Method actors and the struggle to differentiate  what's real vs what's acting when it comes to love and obsession?

Taiwan

History Hero/Obsessed

Ratings: 3.8/5 Genre/Themes: Gender bender, Rebirth, Ghosts,  Death,  Romance, Comedy, Happy ending Country: Taiwan Verdict: History is one of the best anthologies Taiwan produced for BL. And even the first history series are just as good as recent, whilst maybe more low budget and shorter, I still enjoy them as much as the other one. Hero is one that is actually not my most loved one, but it's heartwarming and also interesting to watch. It's a supernatural gender bender, with our main charcter's body taken over by his crush's girlfriend who we watch figure out the budding relationship between her boyfriend and the dead guy. It seems it would be tragic, or end in a heterosexual way but it doesn't, it does have a bitter sweet ending since we're seeing it from her perspective but our BL character's come out unscathed. Obsessed is one of my faves, also a rebirth story, our main character comes back to life and goes back in time after being betrayed by his lover determined to avoid him as much as possible only to realise that his lover is obsessed and determined to get them back together despite not understanding why he loves him. It's so fun to watch this show, and I enjoy the chemistry between Benjamin and Teddy. But yeh Halloween, mysterious deaths, rebirths and romance great times!

Chinese

Rebirth Ratings: 4/5 Genre/Themes: Rebirth, Romance, Historical,  Death, Drama, Royalty, Happy ending Country: Chinese Verdict: Absolutely so stoked with this drama, frustrated with censorship from China which prevented some scenes from being shown like the waterfall kiss, but it has a happy ending! Like what? I'm so happy because it's quite dramatic and has moments where it looks like would be tragic but I adore the romance between the King and his companion, and the way they're both loyal to each other. For Halloween this deals with death and reincarnation of our main character to return back and save the King from getting killed. Go watch it if you can find uncut link so worth it.

Untamed Ratings: 5/5 Genre/Themes: Zombies, Fantasy, Horror,  Romance, Happy ending, Rebirth, Death Country: China Verdict: Like I don't have to explain this one. Go watch it if you haven't. Tbh for Halloween I'm not going to be watching the show Untamed because I've seen it too many times, so I'll probably be crying over Wei Wuxian and Wang Ji's love with the audio drama (Season 3 especially) Whatever way you wanna watch Mo dao Zu shi: anime, book, tv show, audio drama, this is a masterpiece and so incredibly scary enough, supernatural enough and great enough for this Halloween. A masterpiece.

Guardian Ratings: 3.5/5 Genre/Themes: Supernatural, Romance, Rebirth, Horror, ,Bromance, Censored, Comedy, Mystery, Detectives Country: China Verdict: Guardian is so fun to watch but when I think of it's original source I get so upset with China and I just don't want to watch it especially that stupid ending. But for Halloween Guardian is the most Halloween like BL show there is, deals with demons, zombies, ghosts, etc Mysteries about aliens, humans and supernatural deities. And a painful romance that has amazing chemistry, acting and story behind it. Go watch it just for the fun cases the characters have to investigate each episode connected to the supernatural stuff.  Or go read the book and see what it was meant to be like.

Thailand 

Red wine in the Dark night Ratings: 3.5/5 Genre/Themes: Psychology, Thriller, Horror,  R rated, Tragedy, Vampire Country: Thailand Verdict: My first movie introducing me to Fluke and his incredible acting. But like this movie messed me up, I went into it like nice vampire/cute boy romance and halfway through I was like wtf?? It's incredible and dark to see this movie and for Halloween scary enough to contemplate and analyse so yeh a great spooky watch with shady, flawed characters traumatised to make choices to be with love.  Watch it for Fluke.

Blue Hour Ratings: 4/5 Genre/Themes: Psychology, Thriller, Horror,  R rated, Ghosts, Mystery Country: Thailand Verdict: This is another messed up movie with an amazing cast. Both Oab and Gun are like so great in this, and they are my ghost ship. This movie starts of like a romantic with drama BL movie, about like falling in love and meeting the right person and then it just gets twisted and starts to be horrifying. Again has a lot of shady, dark characters who do things that are just so unexpected. It will scare you well and Gun's performance as a winner. But we already know this about him. Go watch Gifted and Gifted Graduation (also spooky in my opinion for Halloween)

My dream Ratings: 3/5 Genre/Themes: Supernatural,  Fantasy, Romance,  Drama Country: Thailand Verdict:  Okay only adding this on the list because of its supernatural genre but I actually don't remember what this is about. All I can remember is the main love story is between Runway and his lover who he sees in his dreams due to a mysterious dream catcher given to him by his family to protect him. Yeh this is fantasy so good for halloween but it's actually not my favourite show, I remember disliking a lot of things about it apart from the second lead couple so yeh Meh. But for Halloween you can squeeze a watch and try and see if you like it.

Until We Meet Again

Ratings: 4.2/5 Genre/Themes:  Reincarnation,  Rebirth, Suicide,  Drama, Death, Romance, Mystery, Happy ending Country: Thailand Verdict:  Can’t believe I almost forgot about this, But this is a great thai BL series, one of the best ones actually if you’re okay with slow paced storyline but with depth, and interesting plot. I love all the couples on this show and it kept me on my toes with anxiety and worry about how it was going to end. Go watch this for Fluke again, as he is so amazing at his role of Pharm. Everyone else on this cast is also my favorite. Reasons for Halloween, this deals with the psychological trauama of death and suicde, and also deals with the consequences of reincarnation. Because of this the psychological breakdown and reveal of Pharm’s connection to Inn, is ver scary, worrying and frightful as you go deeper the story. We’re not sure where this will lead, but we know as an audience that it sure isn’t going to be a nice reunion with Inn and Korn whenever the latter finds the truth about why they’re dead. Yeh towards the last three episodes it’s almost close to being a thriller, so much angst, drama and pain and fear for our character’s lives, will make this a scary but not scary Halloween watch for sure. 

Greater man academy Ratings: 5/5 Genre/Themes: Gender bender, Fantasy, Unicorns  Romance, Competitive all-boys school, Happy ending, Plot twists Country: Thailand Verdict: Can I just praise how genius this series is. Because no one else doing so it's understandable it's hard to find the subs because Nadao refuses to release it on its platform. Either way seeing Nadao mentioned as the producers makes you know this is incredible. From acting, to story telling, to directing, to dynamics, to the romance. I am in awe of greater man academy and I will never stop speaking about how I wish more BLs was like this. Add she's the man (the movie or twelfth night by Shakespeare) and BL tropes to this and you get greater man academy, Except this show is different, 3 dimensional characters that will take your breath away from the amount of plot twists written for their characters, romances that will keep you on your toes with anticipation and mystery and the suprising fact that this ends up as a BL when it didn't need to is what shocks me still to this day. Go watch it I don't want to spoil anything else. Just watch it. For Halloween we have magical unicorns with wish granting abilities, ghosts and other fantasy themes in the academy for the great men.

He's coming to me Ratings: 4.5/5 Genre/Themes: Ghosts, Mystery,Slice of Life,  Romance, Comedy, Happy ending Country: Thailand Verdict:  I've already talked about this show on here as well. But again just go watch it, it's incredible a bit slow paced but it's worth it. I just want more shows like He's coming to me, the whole supernatural world building was fantastic, the mystery, the plot, the love story between our main guy who sees ghost and his ghost best friend, and him learning to embrace his identity and sexuality. Brilliant. Also again Ohm Pawat is in this so are you shocked and Singto as well who is amazing.

The Shipper Ratings: 4/5 Genre/Themes: Death, Gender bender, Mystery,, Tragedy, Comedy, Romance Country: Thailand Verdict: Didn't know if I should add this here but there is a heavy supernatural theme to it, and it does have BL despite the fact that could be questioned but I love Way and Kim, and I think the actors are great and the plot is actually good for most of it, there are some issues with the show but honestly if the ending was better It would be a favourite of mine in 2020. Sigh. Halloween there's death, and the lore surrounding death and mystery about why it and how the circumstances our main character is happened, and it keeps you on your toes. Ohm Pawat that's it another reason and First and Fluke were incredible in this. Girl actresses were also good. And it's directed and written by the writer of the girl from nowehere, so that's another positive. (Must watch for Halloween if you haven't yet not BL)

And the more drama reviews I promised! Two in one week look at me go!

Kill me, Heal me (Kdrama): a man with Multiple personalities and a psychiatrist fall in love while helping him with his disorder. 8/10 I have massively mixed feelings about this one. Ultimately I liked it but I felt like it was too long and took too many unnecessary turns to melodrama and then tried to wrap things up way too quickly. Overall, I liked it. The acting is great and the characters are wonderful.

Still, Marry me (kdrama)- Two women in their thirties pursue relationships with younger men. 7/10. This would have been an 8, but it totally fumbled the ending for me. There were too many storylines and not enough time especially when they kept introducing more problems in the last ep. That was the most frustrating part. I rather liked the show and then it just fumbled. Like the last episode makes very little sense for the characters. Hae Jin's mom was too difficult.

Master's Sun (kdrama)- A woman who can see ghosts finds a man who can make them leave with a touch. 9.5/10 This is a horror romance and I do not do scary, but the way that ghosts are portrayed here is so good. They are just looking for help mostly. I could do with a bit less of the secondary characters and a bit more relationship between the leads, but overall it was excellent.

Instead of tipsy why not get drunk/Flavour it's yours: (CDrama) Guy with exceptional palate and girl who cannot taste switch their senses after an accidental kiss. 8/10. The main couple is adorable. I thought the mystery took too long and I did not care about the other sommeliers at all. Everything else was super enjoyable.

Bride of the century (Kdrama)-A wealthy family is cursed so the eldest son's first bride dies. The newest bride in line manages to find a doppelganger to take her place. 8/10 This is a very soap opera drama. It actually took me three tries to start it. Villain plotting galore and some of it is insensible. I did fast forward through a bit of the angst in some of the later episodes, but overall the main couple was great. I liked the plot twist with the curse and ghost.

Rooftop Prince (Kdrama)-Joseon era prince and friends in modern day 10/10 The silly antics of the friends balanced well with the melodrama and I actually cared about all the characters. It did take a few episodes to get into it for me.

Just between lovers (Kdrama)- The survivors of a mall collapse heal together, finding love along the way. 9/10. The grief and sadness in this melodrama are done so well. It is a slow story, but more about letting yourself move on from grief and let go than the romance. Beautiful story, although I found a few character a bit extraneous. Also may make you cry before it's all over.

The best of you in my mind (Cdrama)-High School best friends go to college and fall in love. 9/10. Basically all super sweet fluff and hot at just the moment I needed it. If you want a moustache twirling bad guy and lots of drama this one is not for you. I, however, love seeing a nice healthy couple progress together. And it was a relief to just have some simple sweet romance.

Wild Romance (Kdrama)- Baseball player gets an antifan as his bodyguard to protect him from a stalker. 9/10. If you can get past the super violent fight between the couple in ep 4 (and a lot of people can't), the main couple is hysterical. When the show started becoming too melodramatic toward the end, their awkward humor was perfect. I don't love the best friend and wife's conclusion and I wish they had built the stalker mystery a bit better so we had a reveal at the end. Overall, really enjoyable.

Lost Romance: (Taiwanese drama)-Romance editor wakes up in her latest novel and the male CEO star of the novel looks just like her real life crush. Only one problem: she's not the leading lady, she's one of the jealous coworkers. But with her knowledge of Romance novels maybe she can change things. 10/10. The first couple episodes were a little hard to get through, but this...this just hit perfectly. The two leads have AAMAZING chemistry. The only mildly draggy point was the real world stuff in the middle. Also one of the sexiest drama scenes I've watched yet. I absolutely loved it. WILL WATCH AGAIN!

Jennie Panhan is awesome and has an arc that is not about her transition but about the type of person she wants to become and flirts with a revenge arc. No love triangles, we have a polycule like grownups. Actual sympathetic antagonists.

2. that one bl that scarred you for life

TharnType. Someone recommended it to me but all the non-con and dub-con was awful. None of that was healthy. I’ve never finished it.

3. is there any bl that made you feel very single? I’m married now (and 40!), but My Engineer’s King and Ram strongly remind me of me with my girlfriend in college. We had the usual mutual pining, some pushing away and sabotage, and cohabitation and bed-sharing before we figured out our respective unrequited loves were requited. Watching their scenes transports me back to the whole scary, heart fluttering, euphoric period of longing, love, and being loved in return.

4. if you could change one thing from a bl, which one would it be? I’m going to list two things. Stop romanticizing rape. Stop having only fujoshis as your only female representation. Oh, and the incest, I guess that’s three things. Stop with that too. There should be a separate list of all the things I would change. I try to watch and support LGBT media, but we need to move beyond romanticizing this stuff.

Give me some GL series cowards! Actually, I just want to talk about some currently airing dramas that I can’t pass judgment on yet. Love is Science? & Be Loved in House: I Do. Both are out of Taiwan. I wouldn’t classify these as BL, but office romcoms with lbgt romances.

Love is Science? Is currently on hiatus due to the pandemic, but the first 10 eps are up and subbed. All the couples are essentially non-traditional and the bulk of the storyline takes place at a matchmaking agency. Couple 1 has an older woman/younger man with the added stigma of divorce. Couple 2 is an out gay man with a bisexual man (the production company released a cut of just their scenes on youtube if you’re interested: https://youtu.be/lIdngsUoa1M). Couple 3 is an older middle-aged couple from different economic classes (bank vice-president woman and aging male farmer) and they are the absolute cutest. Couple 4 is an out lesbian and an ex-girlfriend (and that’s where we’re left off).

Be Loved in House: I Do is a remake in the spirit of Just You with Aaron Yan and Puff Guo. It was terrible and cringey the first time around and that’s what Be Loved is to my delight. I want all the sappy, gooey, cringey romance. And the two couples are just as soft as anyone can wish for.

Overall thoughts

I think this drama was very easy to follow and had a consistent story. It had some dark elements of course, like Anchornim’s Hyperthymesia, Hajin’s memory loss and a murder that linked our main characters in an awful way. But overall, everything was cristal clear. The beauty of the show was the way the plot was constructed (and if you ask me, that's why the drama could’ve ended up being 14 eps instead of 16) and the way the characters were so well developed, they seem like real people.

I'm so happy that I gave this drama a chance and I have to say, this is the biggest and nicest surprise in dramaland so far this year, for me.

Stalker(s) plot

What I liked about this storyline (or storylines, depending on how you see it) was the way it actually brought closer our OTP. Anchornim had already made up his mind and had one foot out the door when he realized that Hajin was being targeted in the same way Soyeon, his late girlfriend, had been. And the first thing he did, was to actually go see with his own eyes that this bastard killer was still behind bars. And then, he dedicated all his time and resources to make sure Hajin wasn't gonna suffer the same tragic ending. And succeed of course.

Other than that, this plot was kinda predictable. I think most people realized that the first stalker was eventually gonna get out and try to get revenge on Anchornim. And we knew second stalker was not gonna get away with his crazy plan. I saw this as a sort of "redemption" for Anchornim. He couldn't save Soyeon but he did save Hajin.

What was not exactly predictable was the fact that we had around 4 suspects for a while (at least I had that many lol the disgraced reporter, the manager, the bff doctor and the director). I remember most people thought the real stalker was gonna be bff doctor and my god, I was so happy he wasn't. It would have been a big blow to Hajin and, above all, to Anchornim. And I actually underestimated our real stalker, the director. I knew he was obsessed with Hajin but I never thought he'd be the one to worry about. And how scary is it that this actually happens in real life? *Shudders*

Secondary OTP

Ah. What a breath of fresh air. These two were a fine and healthy example of a relationship that’s born in the everyday life. They both were very supportive of each other, specially him.

And they cared so much for our main leads, that I was the happiest when they started liking each other and ended up dating. I want more of this in dramaland, but I get that to be the main OTP you need a lot more of drama, conflict and clichés. Pity. But I guess a drama with a couple like this, would only be two eps long.

Real Villains

I made a post about what I consider to be the best kind of villains in dramas, inspired by this drama. The ones that emulate real people that we could encounter everyday. So, even if it the drama had 2 psycho stalkers, the ones that  I considered to be the real bitches here, were Doctor Dad and Disgraced Reporter. Plus, in retrospective, those 2 were really the ones who separated Hajin and Anchornim, the ones that wanted them apart and tried to hurt them (or you know, didn’t care if they did).

I hated them, but I guess that means they did their job well.

Other characters

BFF Doctor whose name I could never remember (That doesn’t mean I didn’t apreciated him. Not at all). He was such a good person and I’m so so glad he wasn’t the bad guy. I was sad that he had to turn himself in because of his dad, but it seems he really found peace in the end.Hajin’s manager. He had problems and did commit a minor crime but he never meant to hurt Hajin and, in the end, he got a little revenge on disgraced reporter. The president from Hajin’s company! OMG she was such a sweet lady. If more bosses could be like her, the world would be a very different place.

Anchornim’s bosses at the broadcasting station. Such a weird bickering couple but who am I to judge their marriage? They cared for anchornim a lot and cheered on him always, in everything.

And Anchornim’s parents. Mom’s death was not exactly a surprise but it was still sad and that whole episode of our anchor dealing with her passing was the hardest of the drama. That woman raised him to be the fine man he was and that means she was a really good person and one of the best moms in dramaland. And dad! Dad tried a lot to get close to him after mom died. He asked for forgiveness for not being a very good dad and was the sweetest when he met Hajin. How not to forgive him?

Seoyeon

This show was full of very good people but, if there ever was one innocent soul that was so nice and kind to everyone (which ironically is what lead her to her tragic fate), I have to pick Seoyeon. We were only a few eps in when we learnt how she passed and it was so sad. I loved our OTP so much but I actually wanted to see a bit more of Seoyeon’s relationship with Anchornim, that I know was full of good memories, just sadly eclipsed by that final and terrible moment of her death.

And we saw flashbacks, of course. But the one thing that seemed weird to me in all the drama was the fact that Anchornim and Hajin never met while she was alive. And I mean, Hajin was angry at Seoyeon for the injury she got when she saved her, but before that, I don’t think they were on bad terms. My point is that they were such good friends, almost like sisters, that I don’t get why Seoyeon never introduced the most important 2 people from her life, to each other. But I mean, that came in handy for her psycho stalker.

Very sad about her death and what it meant for our OTP’s trauma and pain but without it, they would’ve never ended up together.

Hajin&Anchornim

You see, when I started the drama I was crushing hard on my sweet and happy girl, Hajin. (And I did loved her till the end, don’t misunderstand!) However, by the second half of the drama I was head over heels in love with Anchornim. Yeah. His tsundere personality won me over. And I mean, I think both our leads had it really hard and were dealing with lots of trauma BUT, Anchornim was dealing with a problem every.single.episode.

And when he finally decided to go after Hajin and be happy with her, because she made him happy for the first time in a LONG while, things started to move in the worst direction possible. And he was always sure of his love for her and his decision to be with her, even when Hajin was scared and decided to break things up, TWICE. Ugh. They were just so good for each other, but the freaking bitches around them just wouldn’t leave them alone. It was heartbreaking and even if it frustrated me, I could understand Hajin’s fear.

Anchornim really went from a man with his heart in pieces, dedicating his life to his job, to a man in love with a girl who put on the biggest smile on his face. His transformation in the drama was really touching and so worth watching.

So, dramaland, give me more men like this one. He wasn’t immature, he wasn’t prompt to jealousy, he wasn’t sulky, moody or agnsty. He was smart, but not a freaking genius know it all. He was capable. And he had Hyperthymesia, but that did not defined who he was. And he was not a super-fighter, but when the things and people that mattered most to him were being threatened, he fought using his brain and won. It was a delight to see his character being played out with dignity and such a manly touch and for that, Mr. Kim Dong Wook, you’ve got a new fan.
