#see the issue is i feel like that isnt the main problem with kabuto here lmao#I've been gone for so long but ahem. as a kabuto scholar-#i feel like kabuto's main issue is that he was forced into this position by literally every outside force around him#the leaf village tried to kill him. he had no choice but to stay with orochimaru. after orochimaru died he had -nowhere to go-#but at this point in the story kishimoto doesn't want to acknowledge the problems with ninja society that led kabuto here#and that's why this explanation falls so flat to me#the most kabuto gets is itachi saying ''well it wasn't all his fault'' but not elaborating on why#and itachi is the one that is seen as in the right for making the decision to kill his entire clan in the name of upholding the status quo#so kishimoto can't outright blame kabuto's problems on the leaf village. so instead some reasons are thrown out here#that genuinely make no sense to me#and itachi claiming kabuto reminds him of himself also doesn't make much sense to me#because itachi always came across to me as incredibly sure of himself. always knew who he was and what he needed to do#which is... the opposite of kabuto#and itachi's explanation doesn't make it make sense to me.#kabuto had an amazing arc and this little summary from itachi here just ignores all of it to make up something entirely different#just in my own opinion at least.#naruto#kabuto#kabuto yakushi#mangacap#everykabuto#fourth shinobi world war: climax#chapter 587

I have a question about the time travel Minato fic they you wrote!!!
So, I remember in Naruto that he had an ANBU guard as a kid. Do they exist in this universe? If they do, why didn’t they immediately jump the guy who’s pretending to be the 4th hokage?
Maybe they don’t actually guard him 24/7 or something?
Adding to this, was there any kind of chakra flare when Minato flashed into this universe? I’d inagine that it would take a lot of chakra to power a jutsu that would send you to other dimensions.
If there WAS a chakra flare, are there people who are tracking down Minato right now?
Oh, I meant to include a note about this and then forgot.
I am ignoring several popular fic tropes for this genre of fic. First, there is no canonical evidence that Naruto was ever persecuted in any way besides being shunned/ignored and that one time Mizuki tricked him. No one's ever hunt him down or beat him.* Second, I am using the anime or manga portrayal of his living situation (haven't decided which yet), which to me looks like an older building that's otherwise largely free of disrepair/neglect. He's not living in squalor. Third and most relevant to your question, he doesn't have a 24/7 ANBU guard. The ANBU guard thing is purely fanon, and while I don't mind it in fics and might use it in a different fic, I personally don't think it jives very well with what canon actually shows us, and I don't feel like including it as a logistical hurdle for this fic.
IIRC, the main village security is a perimeter thing. Like, they sensed Pein coming in because of some sort of perimeter, but Itachi was able to bypass it because "he knew how." Given the clusterfuck of the chunin exams, during which they knew Orochimaru was lurking and just couldn't find him, I don't think there's any canon evidence they'd be able to pick up on foreign jutsu usage that wasn't like.... loud/obvious. So Minato is accidentally in stealth mode right now. (I did intentionally make a point to describe the park as empty and poorly lit-- no one is around close enough to recognize him.)
*I did want an explanation for why Naruto is living alone at such a young age, because him living alone IS implied in the anime, but the logistics of how a small child could do that has no canon explanation. So I decided he was removed from an orphanage (which we know canon DOES have a concept of) due to abuse, and he had various caretakers visiting him until he was deemed responsible enough to care for himself. I still didn't want to lean into "comically physically abusive" so I picked some punishments that I thought a ninja village might consider fine/normal except when issued excessively.

In defense of my pov and maybe I wasn't very clear in the ask... I do think the point of Itachi in the earlier arcs is that he is meant to come across as one dimensional (of course to writers and those who read a lot this actually should equal something potentially being incredibly fishy), so when we get the conspiracy reveal after his death I mean that I wasn't surprised there was more to it and I love how it threw every interpretation of his actions from beginning to end into a new light. (And I realize I forgot to fix a sentence and I love Itachi now, but when I first encountered naruto in my early teens, he honestly didn't scare me that much 😅, he comes into town, doesn't kill any of the main characters because that point in the story wouldn't have made sense for such a thing, and then he leaves, seemingly on a tactically considered whim which fits his characterization at that time)
I also think it's actually incredibly important that Orochimaru and Itachi are both meddling in Sasuke's lives at the same time, which is why I brought them up as a "comparison" even though their motives are never even remotely the same! Orochimaru is horrific as an individual and a villain, but from a narrative standpoint serves as an incredibly effective smokescreen. Orochimaru is an immediate threat from the moment he is introduced, he's a constant and threatening presence and Sasuke goes and exposes himself to that for years which leaves him very little time to introspect on the circumstances around his family's death.
Itachi on the other hand is more of a goal than a threat. He's dangerous, we see enough of him vs other cast members like Jiraiya and Kakashi for that, and he very badly wants Sasuke to pursue him (seen as early as the hotsprings town attack and later made abundantly clear to be because he wants Sasuke to spend his vengeance on him, although even that reasoning is multi layered). He's one of Sasuke's primary enemies, but he functions so differently from Orochimaru that the audience just sees him as a different kind of big bad is all.
(Sorry for the long explanation, I just don't want you to think I'm stupid 😅 but I also might be coming at my interpretations from a different place than you and that's fine too! I appreciate your first answer regardless and thank you for those panels! The manga is so long that I definitely forget things.)
For the purposes of my own work, I often think of how information is compartmentalized in the village... because other members of the konoha 11 also come to the conclusion Sasuke should be killed, but the tactical ones have different justifications than Sakura if I'm remembering correctly? I think they're mostly meant to parrot the village policies, esp since they're secondary characters at best, just cementing the way that villages sacrifice individual members for the sake of less war (which is different than real peace!), but it still makes for some interesting considerations of how much/what other characters know and where they get their information from.
Anyways, sorry again for the long ask but thank you for so much uchiha content!
Oh, of course. Initially, he is meant to be a one dimensional villain, and there are hints dropped to give him more nuance, which make sense after the truth reveal. When we move towards the chapters/episodes leading to his death, the story starts to explore his fragility while he's still a villain.
His reveal didn't surprise me. It devastated me. I've been one of those who had some gist of him not being evil, but the tragedy was entirely unexpected.
If you love Itachi too, then welcome to our hell because we suffer forever here, loving both the brothers.
Don't worry, I loved reading your interpretation of both Itachi and Orochimaru and their influence on Sasuke. Itachi is a big deal because even though Sasuke faces an actual threat from Orochimaru, he isn't scared of him. But whenever he sees Itachi, his reactions are always intense. And even after their battle, he was completely shaking, even if he knew Itachi would have exhausted his chakra too. The only person Sasuke was really scared of was probably Itachi. Other than Itachi being invincible, there were a lot of feelings. Itachi had been cruel to him. Not only physically or psychologically but also emotionally. The only one who could dismantle him was Itachi. And Sasuke had all the unanswered questions in his mind because from his POV, his beloved brother one day stopped loving him when he'd always been so supportive of him.
I think other Konoha Shinobi wanting to kill Sasuke is different from her wanting to kill Sasuke. They didn't love him, they didn't care about him, and that also includes Kakashi. She claimed to love him, and concluded that he needed to die for his own sake. I have no expectations from Konoha 11 and I don't care about their opinions on Sasuke either. But she married Sasuke and never bothered to know why he changed so suddenly and why he would want his brother back. Does she even know anything about the Uchiha clan and its history? And what happened with Itachi and all? Probably not.
Don't worry about the long ask. It's totally fine. Thank you. :)

Object #4
(Pain/Nagato Uziumaki)
[Art work is not mine! Credit to morbidprince]
Requested by: Myself
Word Count: 3,800
Warnings and/or Pre-Notes:
Don't worry, this part isn't mental health check level smut. It's just a fluffy soft Pain fic
Should I do a part five? With more Nagato fluff? Or maybe I’ll just make this a super long series and have fluffy parts with all the members to counter act all the smut. Idk I need opinions
———————————————————————
"Princess?" Nagato's voice calls out again, his feet making quick work to me. "Your back..." he mutters, fingertips running over the 'good as new' skin stretched over my spine.
"Ya, Itachi fixed it. I don't know how though," I fill in the blanks, tilting my head back.
The dry orange-haired man is distressed, face scrunched up as his eyes scroll over my body. "It seems your back isn't the only thing he fixed," he mutters, head dipping down. He hesitates for a moment before resting his chin on my shoulder. "I wish to hear about your day."
"Do you?"
Pain is silent for a beat before he answers. "No," he mutters, head tilting so his nose is resting against my neck. The metal of his nose piercings press gently into my skin, coating my neck in a gentle chilliness. "Have you decided where you wish to go tomorrow?"
"Kind of," I murmur, leaning backward so my back is pressed against Nagato's chest. "How long are we going to be gone?"
"However long you wish."
"Two weeks... not counting travel time?" I ask softly, worried I'm being too greedy and that it'll cause Pain's switch to flip. I know he'd never hurt me... unsexually, at least. That doesn't mean I enjoy his coldness though. Or how quickly his attitude towards me changes.
Nagato stays quiet, his breathing puffy his chest out and gently swaying me. "As you wish. We might have to... adjust our plans though." That's code for 'Pain is going to do work' on our vacation. Whether it's information collection, kidnapping, or killing somebody is beyond me, and I don't wish for it to no longer be beyond me.
"Alright," I mumble, tilting my head to rest it against his. "I want to see that waterfall you took me to a few months ago. The one with the two statues."
"The Valley of the End?" Nagato asks, a sigh escaping him with the question.
"I don't know. We don't have to go there," I whisper the last part, worries of Pain's bipolarness filling my mind. "I can pick somewhere else."
"It is alright. I have business in the Hidden Lead and something to handle in the Hidden Sound so it is quite perfect." The explanation comes out as a grumble, making me question whether Nagato is telling the truth or is simply trying to calm my nerves.
"Alright."
"I will give you three weeks, travel not included, aside from my business," he mutters against my skin, brushing kisses to my throat. His mouth piercings snag like the ones on his nose. Unlike this morning, Pain is careful as he moves across my skin, careful not to nick me again.
"Naga?"
"Princess?"
"Are you Pain or Nagato... Or Yahiko?" My heart races with the question, worried that Pain's good mood won't stretch any further today if it'll even stretch this far.
He falls quiet, sucking a bit of my skin into his mouth. His focus stays there, bruising my skin some more as he stays silent. "It is complicated. Would you like an explanation?"
"I don't know."
Silence envelopes us again, Pain's mouth focused on marking a part of my shoulder this time. "Pain is an alias, Nagato is my consciousness, Yahiko is my body," he mutters against me, kissing the new bruise.
"That doesn't make any sense."
"I know, Princess. All you need to know is that I am Nagato." The explanation still doesn't make any sense, even in the dumbed-down state it was given to me. "Nagato is who cares for you." The sentence comes out soft, the usual harshness not present.
"Does Nagato love me?" I ask, snapping my eyes closed and holding my breath once the sentence is out.
His movements stale, lips still pressed against me. "Why do you ask?" My breath comes out rough, almost painful as I exhale. I shrug my shoulders, deciding I no longer want to have this conversation. "I care for you in ways you need and want. I protect you from the cruelty of the world. I have removed worries, destruction, and torments from your life. You are one of my reminders."
"One of your reminders for what?"
"For why the akatsuki exists," he mutters, lips back in motion. Pain works his way around my back, the gentle pressure and pokes of his piercings chasing his lips.
"Does it bother you that the other members... enjoy me?"
"Not particularly. I cannot be around in those ways all the time. If you enjoy yourself it does not bother me."
"Is that why Hidan is hanging in a tree?"
Nagato hums a yes, lips trailing back up my other shoulder. "Hidan hurt you in an unenjoyable way, so he shall know pain. You cannot enjoy yourself if you are slowly bleeding to death and slipping into unconsciousness."
"Naga?" He hums a yes again, head lifting before resting on my shoulder again. "I'm hungry."
"Then we shall go eat. Afterward, we can go down for the night. We'll need to pack and leave early if we wish to make a fast pace." His arms wrap around my waist, lifting me off the bed before settling me on my feet.
Pain is back to business, hand wrapped up in my chain to lead me behind him. I can already feel the coldness filtering from him, our soft moment to be left in the med-bay.
———————————
My eyes trail over Nagato, watching him carefully clean his piercings and poles. His fingers are nimble, tugging out another pole from his arm. My sight trails over his fingers, watching him dip the towel into the water mix before he scrubs at the metal.
"Why do you do that?" I ask, crawling out of our bed to head toward him.
"Why do I do what?" Pain asks, his eyes flickering up to catch my sight through the mirror.
I settle my hands on his shoulders, toying with the poles poking out. "You clean your pole things every night. The same routine. One at a time. Why?"
Nagato's focus shifts back down to the metal, scrubbing at it again before sticking it back into himself. "Well, I clean them so they don't get infected. I clean them one at a time because without them I can no longer control this body."
"That is confusing," I mutter, fingers wrapping around one of the poles. I tug on it, raising it a bit. The sound of it moving sends shivers down my spine, in a not-nice way. "They make a weird sound," I add, shifting it back into place.
"It is the sound of my blood shifting around the metal," Pain explains, mimicking my actions to clean a new pole. "My piercings do not do that, but the poles across my body do. Have you packed?"
"No," I whisper, toying with the bar through his left ear. I shift it sound, twirling it in a circle. "I don't know what to pack."
"For the Leaf Village, it is usually hot and rains most nights but doesn't get chilly. The Sound Village is usually gloomy and rainy, so it's cold most of the time."
"So, a mix of everything?"
"I will pack your bag," Nagato sighs, eyes flickering up to look at me before he goes back to the project at hand. "You will forget something anyway."
"Alright," I hum out, shifting my focus away from our conversation.
I litter his neck with kisses, working my way down and across his shoulders as Pain works away. My nose occasionally bumps into one of his poles, getting me a disapproving grunt.
When his grunts occur more often, I stop covering him in kisses. Instead, I mess with his necklace, running my fingertips over the chain links and toying with the spikes of it. "Naga?"
"Princess?" He groans, tilting his head back. My eyes trail over his, rolling over the purple swirls. "What is it that you want?"
"I don't know," I mutter, clinging to his chain as I coat his cheeks with my lips. "I just missed you today."
"Do not say that," he husks out, head tilting back upright. "It is displeasing when you say things like that. What is it that you want? I cannot fulfill your expectations if I don't know them."
"I don't know," I repeat in a whisper, resting my chin on the top of my head. "I just want your attention."
"You have my attention," Nagato mutters, chest puffing out before slowly falling back down in another exhausted exhale. "I do not know how to fill your request, Princess."
"Not all your attention," I grumble, eyes jumping around the mirror to take in Pain's figure. He's a pretty sight to look at, even if it's not his body... or maybe it is? I'm still confused about his explanation earlier.
"You are chatty today. What has changed?"
"What do you mean?"
"I have had you for a year or so now. You have never been this curious about me. What has made you so curious?"
"I spent some time with Konan today," I answer shortly, shifting my eyes away from the mirror. "I guess I just realized I don't know you like she does."
"Of course you don't. Konan has known me longer, she will know more about me."
"Really? No way," I mutter under my breath, pulling back from the emotionally stunted man.
"Princess?" He calls, hand shooting back to grab hold of my arm. "I don't like repeating myself. I cannot fulfill your expectations if I don't know them. You need to voice your needs."
I shrug my shoulders, eyes flickering between the room and Pain's tilted back head. He's getting upset, eyebrows forwarded and jaw set as he looks at me. "Do you like Konan?" I ask softly, deciding to focus on our closet.
"What do you mean?"
"Do you love her?"
"Of course not. Do not be unintelligent," Nagato mutters, letting go of his hold on me. "Just because I wish her safety does not mean I love her. You are present here, not her, unintelligent Princess." He mumbles the last line, his words almost lost under his breath.
"Naga?"
"What is it that you need now?" He huffs, his patience running thin.
"I like you," I whisper, eyes shifting back to the mirror to take in his reaction.
"Do not say that either. It's displeasing."
———————————
"Princess? Princess, you need to wake up," Nagato groans, hand cupping my arm as he shakes me. "It's time to be awake. Be awake."
"I am awake," I mutter, shifting to my side. My body bumps into him, encouraging me to cuddle into him and slip back off to sleep.
"We are awake," he repeats, arms wrapping around me before I'm lifted. "We have to get going to make the most of daylight." Pain carries me out of bed, holding me bridal style as he shifts around the sheets.
"I am awake," I also repeat, wrapping my arms around Nagato's neck as he stands up. "It's too early."
"You, Princess, live a timeless life to eliminate any anxieties being cooped up could cause. You do not know if it is early or late. You do not know the day, the month, or the year. You live with no worries because I have eliminated all possibilities of them."
"Fine, I'm tired," I whine, burying my head into his neck. "I want more sleep."
Pain exhales through his nose before letting me tumble back down on our bed. "Go back to sleep while I pack. Then you while be awake for the day so we can go on your trip."
I curl up under the blankets, soaking in the only warmth available in the freezing room. My eyes are lazy, half asleep but not fully, as I watch Nagato walk circles around the room. He mutters to himself as he packs our bags. It's entertaining watching him dangle our clothing as he looks them over, checking to see if our outfits match enough for himself but not enough to be noticeable.
Once he's satisfied with his choice of outfits, Pain's attention shifts to the make-shift vanity. His movements are slow, moving our stuff around slowly and softly so it doesn't make as much noise as normal. "For wanting more sleep, you are not sleeping," he mutters, looking at my reflection in the mirror.
"I'm resting my body. It's pretty much the same thing," I mutter, burying my head under the blankets.
I stay like this, bubbled in the heat of our blankets and shifting around consciousness and unconsciousness. After what seems like forever in my hazy state, Nagato's hands slide under the bedsheets, pawing around for me. "Princess?" He calls, the sound of him and the sheets shifting fills the room before his head pops under the blanket as well. "Hello, Princess."
"Hello, Naga."
His face scrunches up, nose curling at the nickname today. "Do not call me that," Pain mutters, shifting forward to wrap me in his arms again. Like before, I'm lifted from the bed, but this time he takes the blanket with him. "I believe you are cold, not tired."
Nagato is not wrong, but he's not right. Despite the majority of my wounds being healed, my body still aches from everyone the day before. "Whatever you say, Pain," I mutter, wrapping myself - and the blanket - around him.
"Do not call me that either," he grumbles, settling me on the ground in front of our closet. Despite his tone, Nagato seems entranced by our closer again, shifting through our clothes in search of something.
"What should I call you then?" I ask, poking around my bag to get a look at the clothes he packed.
     "Just... Nagato."
———————————
Pain's fingers dig into my thighs, clinging to my skin as he carries me across the lake. My eyes are set downward, watching as he walks on the water. "How do you do that?" I ask, nodding towards his feet.
Nagato stalls for a second, shifting me on his back before tipping his head towards me. "Chakra control. Would you like an explanation?"
     "Yes, please."
His steps start again, hands back to clinging to me as he walks. "I control my chakra flow to my feet. My chakra then clings to myself along with the water molecules."
"So it's like a floating board between us and the water," I mutter, watching the ripples caused by Nagato's steps.
"Kind of," he mutters, stalling his steps again. "Would you like to see what it's like?"
"I don't have chakra, remember? That's why I'm not a big bad Akatsuki member," I tease, running my hands through his hair before shaking his head a bit.
"Chakra is our life force. If you are alive you have chakra," Nagato corrects, shifting me to rest against his torso with him pressed against my back instead of me pressed against his. "Besides, even if you had Shinobi level chakra, you would not be an Akatsuki member. Would you like to stand on the water or not?"
"Sure." Pain's hands flip from being under my legs to being under my arms. His movements are slow as he lowers me, just enough that the bottom of my sandals rests on the water's surface. "Nagato?"
     "Princess?"
"What do you mean by 'I wouldn't be an Akatsuki member' anyway?"
My question is ignored as he carries the brunt of my weight, letting me take fake steps on the water as we continue forward. "Because I do not care if Deidara, or Kisame, or Itachi, or Kakuzu die..." The speech isn't finished, the 'but I care if you do' isn't spoken, but it still hangs in the air.
"What if I wanted to be a member," I push, mind set on getting the terrorist leader to voice his feelings for once.
I'm snatched up from my dangling position, pressed against his chest as Pain's fingers dip into my sides hard enough to promise new bruises. "I have worked very hard to give you a sheltered life and I am working even harder to not have to shelter your existence in this world. If you ever even think about the possibility of being a member again, I will cage you like the object you are to ensure that you are safe from the cruelty our lives have to offer."
Nagato's threat scares me a bit. It's a reminder that he's not some traveling businessman, and is a terrorist who has done terrible things, even if I don't know the details of those things.
"You show you care in weird ways," I comment, letting my legs go loose around his waist. The group leader looks at me with pursed lips and a tilted head but doesn't comment back. "I like you," I mutter, burying my head into his shoulder.
"I will drop you and let you drown."
     "No, you won't."
     "... no, I won't."
———————————
What I assume is as close to anxious as Pain can get waves off of him as the outskirts of a village falls into view. His hand clings to my necklace, keeping me less than a step apart from him. "So... this the Leaf Village?" I ask, knowing the answer is most likely no, mostly from the lack of trees and the overabundance of hills.
"No, it is not," Nagato mutters, tugging me closer. I'm buried in his frame, his chest bumping into my back as we walk and his hands ghostly pawing over my hips. "This is the Valley Village."
"The Valley Village?" He hums a yes, head on a spiral as we walk past the first line of buildings. "That sounds dumb."
"Yes, well that is its name. Shall we find food and then decide on somewhere to stay?" It's phrased as a question but toned as a statement, Nagato's mind set on ushering us behind the safety of walls before the sun - and the village's foot traffic - goes down. He's always insisted that there is safety in numbers, hence his unliking of us being out during the night when the amount of buzzing is at the daily low.
Pain's closeness somehow gets closer the further into the village we go. I'm pretty sure if there was a way to embed me in his skin, he would while we're away from the hideout. "What do you want to eat?" He whispers in my ear, keeping his eyes low as I'm ushered down the road.
"A plater of rainbow rolls sounds amazing right now," I answer, squirming in his hold. I like the few occasions Nagato clings to me, but I don't like the feeling of him pretty much shoving me down the street.
His hold loosens a bit, hold still firm but less bruise-threatening. "As you wish," he mutters, head picking up some to scan the buildings. "Perhaps let us find a place to stay first," Pain mutters, eyes locked on the Inn tucked in the corner a few feet away. "Then I will find you a platter of rainbow rolls."
"Good ones, not those convenience store ones. They always taste gross."
"I would never get you sushi from a store," he mutters, ushering me across the road. We make a beeline for the hotel, Pain scanning the street again before tucking me inside the building. "Be silent, be hidden," he whispers in my ear before tugging me towards the desk.
I do as I'm told, keeping my mouth screwed shut and tucking myself into his side. Nagato calls this 'hiding in plain sight'. It's a lecture I get every time we go somewhere. Don't do anything to stand out and you won't, so I don't.
My eyes trail around the entrance as Pain talks to the receptionist. My attention snags on the indoor pond, the marble tiles of it glistening because of the setting sun. In the water is a school of koi fish, their colors mimicking the sunset.
"Princess?" Nagato whispers in my ear, his arm wrapping around my waist to tug me further against him. I hum a yes, stopping myself from using his name; another lecture I get everytime we go out. The leader's name is 'seen as a curse among the common world' or whatever he says, so I can't use it in public. "I got us a room," he mutters, gently leading me forward again.
"A fancy room?" I ask, eyes tearing away from the pond to take in the hallway decorations.
"Yes, a fancy room," he grumbles, eyes scanning the wall plackets in search of our room. I'm tugged to a stop when he finds the right one, my body tucked between his frame and the frame of the doorway. "See? Fancy," He continues to groan, pushing the unlocked door open.
The room is fancy, at least as fancy as an outskirts Inn can be. The room is decorated in that fake gold stuff and vibrant whites. The sun melts through the big windows, coating the bed in the colors. The windows give a nice view of the mountain range, at least a section of it. The sharp edges of the stone are both beautiful and terrifying as my eyes scan over them.
"Is it displeasing to you? I can get us a different room," Nagato rambles, his usual business tone coating his words.
"It's not displeasing. I think the view is pretty," I answer, squirming from his engulfing frame to enter the room. I quickly slip out of my sandals before settling on the bed, facing towards the window with the intent to memorize the view. "I should have brought my camera or at least my sketchbook," I mutter regretfully, the idea of making the view permanent for myself out of reach.
"I brought your camera and I will grab you some paper while I'm out," Nagato sighs, securing the door before his attentions focus on our bags.
"You did?" I ask, attention shifting away from the view as a smile covers my face.
"Of course I did. I did not wish to listen to your whines about lack of photos," he answers, his patience starting to wear thin from the long travel and unforgiving sun we experienced throughout the day.
Maybe it's a good thing Nagato decided to eat in instead of going to a restaurant. I think him having a little break from me will help his patience rebuild.
"I like you," I repeat, my smile getting bigger as I turn back towards the window.
"I do not like repeating myself, Princess. I already told you to stop saying that. Say it again and I'll abandon you here."
     "No, you won't."
"No, I won't," he mutters more to himself than me. "That does not make your statement any less displeasing."

"Koooooutaaaa." It's loudly spoken in a way as to deliberately drag out certain sounds. He's being summoned.
The voice reaches his ears from what feels like much farther away than it is. With just a little sigh, Kouta trots over to the other room where his partner is calling him in an effort to prevent them from shouting again. He stands over them as they sit on the floor and thumb through a particularly old book he'd had on his personal shelf for the last three decades bare minimum. At least they had quieted down immediately when he made his entry, like a cat yowling for attention that was content the second said attention was received, though know he found himself wishing they would explain themselves as to why they needed his attention and presence in the first place. Both of his hands are placed on his hips and he tries to patiently await their verbal explanation but he makes a solid effort not to look actually annoyed.
"Do you know how outdated this thing is?" They finally properly look up at him with a raised brow. "With all this talk about the Nidaime being a cold unfeeling bastard with no sense of ethics or morals."
Kouta puts his hand out for the book but says nothing until Shin hands it over. "Thank you." He clears his throat before continuing. "Yes I'm very aware. I'm not attached to it anymore and frankly wish I'd never bought it in the first place."
"Maybe it's time you do a library purge to get rid of it and all of its ilk. Donate them somewhere but attach a warning label, perhaps."
"I've been contemplating doing something like that yes. It's better than throwing the lot of them out." And then he pivots the subject when some revelation appears to come over him. "Are those Itachi's glasses?"
Kouta thanks his incredible luck that Shin would never lie to him even about something small like this. So when they respond, he knows it'll be the honest truth. "Why yes they are."
"Are you planning on giving them back to him at some point? Preferably soon?"
"I am not." They shake their head twice to make sure he gets the picture. "These are an old-ish pair and in fact I asked him permission first to take them."
Kouta takes a couple good deep breaths and then lowers himself into a sitting position beside Shin. It's a bit difficult for him without his favorite wooden cane to help balance his weight on and it doesn't feel fantastic on his joints. But it's worth it to truly figure out what business his partner may have sporting a pair of glasses that he'd never seen them even attempt to try on casually before. Those stark white eyes that he found profoundly beautiful, faded over so much time without proper explanation, blink at him curiously but Shin opts not to speak in favor of letting their husband continue his questioning. They have plenty of time to answer all of his inquiries properly and hopefully give him real peace of mind.
"When did you get those from him? I don't remember you having them or wearing them at all in the past week. Am I just that unobservant?"
"No, it's only been two days. I got them from Haruka on Thursday per request and haven't had the time to actually use them until today. They're not really customized to me, since they're not mine obviously, but they're working well enough for my purposes."
Some sort of alarm bells begin to go off in Kouta's head when he hears them say all of this with a straight face. Not a hint of irony or play could be detected in their tone and the subject at hand could very much be considered serious so all of his attention became laser focused on his husband just then. He reaches up slowly and takes the frames gingerly off of their face so that he may inspect the light eyes behind them. Eyes as focused on him as he is on Shin, framed by bangs that had lost their silver hue in favor of a similar white tone with the natural aging process. Kouta scans their entire face first as if he's avoiding some confirmation of the worst before making himself look them directly in the eyes. Then he is able to let out a held breath in relief when he can see no signs of cataracts or ocular damage of any sort. Shin blinks at him but still chooses to wait their turn to speak, wondering what is going through the old weasel man's head.
"Shin?" Is all he can get out.
"Yeah? What's wrong? You look like you've seen some sort of ominous vision."
He sets the glasses down, folded and out of the way of harm, and then reaches both arms out to gently place one hand on either side of their head. His hands are warm and something about the touch is relaxing to them despite the fact that he's clearly doing it out of an anxiety spike. One of their own hands goes up to cover his own, savoring the warm touch while also meaning to reassure him that they're not going to combust and die in front of him. Kouta's heart speeds up just a bit in his chest but not out of some positive feeling. He's all too familiar with the capricious nature of Shin's state of health. They have had symptoms all over the map for as long as he's known them and he's no fool to pass off a single one even if it turns out in the end to just be weird luck of the draw. This requires professional attention and he's going to see to it that they get just that.
"Shin." He starts again. "Do you want me to make an appointment for you? I don't think Kabuto or Haruka are really qualified for optometry...so I could call a specialist? If you're needing Itachi's old glasses to look over some words in a book then maybe we need to get you checked out."
If the two had been a decade younger, they would have immediately pulled him into their lap to help let him know they were grateful and that this would all be okay somehow. But they knew damn well it was hard enough for him even to get this low and would probably need assistance getting back up so such a gesture was not the wisest idea. So instead, they let go of their hold on his hand and they take that as a sign to let go of them as well, and then they scoot over to properly sit beside him. Kouta looks at them long and hard for just a moment after they come to a stop and then he transitions to leaning his head on their shoulder for comfort. Shin puts one arm around him and holds him close just to make sure he feels extra secure. Not answering his question first was excusable this time because he clearly needed the physical closeness as a way to verify that he wasn't going to lose his partner of over 30 years just like that.
"Yes, I would appreciate if you could do that for me. I'm sorry I hadn't told you yet that something might be going on with my vision. Haruka kinda sorta knows...but only because I asked her to drop the glasses off to me. Itachi probably has an idea of what's up, even more than her. Sorry that you're the last to know."
"That's okay. I know you didn't keep it from me on purpose. You haven't done anything like that in a really long time." His still vivid orange eyes, now much more vibrant than his hair that had lost a lot of its color and luster, slowly closed as he spoke. He was still admittedly scared but there was a plan in place now so he could rely on that until they had further answers. "Thank you for being honest with me."
Their lips met his forehead in a kiss, another gesture to remind him that this would work itself out safely, and they held him just a little closer. The warmth he radiated was even more potent now and it reminded them of prime late summer days in late August just before their birthday the following month. All of the good he has brought into their life that they tried to return twofold, the memory of it made the weight of the current predicament lessen considerably. Kouta was very attached to Shin and they made sure to assure him that it was always going to be mutual. All of his nearly asocial behaviors through the years never once applied when interacting with them. He made sure to make exceptions for them as their bond has deepened from frequent awkward encounters to equally awkward friends to everything that trailed after. And though they had a much wider social circle than him, Shin always made damn sure to include him in every facet of their life.
While he was still cuddled up to them, they cast their gaze for a moment to the forgotten outdated reading material they'd left sitting on the floor next to their previous spot. It was as physically dusty as it felt emotionally and they were quite sure that it had to be gotten rid of the next time the two had a moment to go through the rest of the library. Who knew how many things were on those shelves that needed clearing out. And this one was different from all the obsolete tomes that had harmless guesses and disproven theories in them left over from an age when all the villages were still getting their shit together. This particular piece of literature most likely was written by someone with a malicious grudge against the second Senju brother and it favored that bias over actual history Tobirama had been part of. Kouta probably didn't pick up the book to hear an opinion on the man's life. No, they knew he was more interested in contributions made by those a book was about. So all signs pointed to this thing having worn out its welcome in their house.
"Kouta?" They verbally nudged him, not wanting to physically do so since he looked so comfortable. "Do you want me to help you up myself or am I gonna need to go get the cane?"
"Mmm, neither. We should stay here."
"That's really gonna hurt in the morning and you know it. Don't be shocked when you feel as old as you are because your back or your tailbone are screaming from sitting like this too long."
"Fine." He sighs in defeat. "You can help me up. I don't want you to have to go looking for my aid in case it's hard to find on directions alone."
He has to force himself to pull away from them so they can get up. When they're free they are quickly able to stand and stretch before offering him both hands as a lift. "I think maybe you shouldn't go playing hide and go seek with that thing when it's important for times like this. Just a hunch, though."
Kouta places both of his hands in Shin's but hesitates to actually let himself be pulled up for just a moment. Those eyes again, looking down at him, have him enraptured. He cannot believe how much he enjoys looking up into them and that there was a time when that gaze was a different color. Just like how it felt unreal that he'd managed to miss the transition of their hair from silver to white. All the time he had spent with his spouse and he still felt a sense of reverence from looking upon them. So much was he engrossed in the feelings of affection that he damn near forgot to respond.
"I will think about it." And with that, the little smirk that lightens up his face spreads to Shin too. He finally lets them pull him up and finds they still manage to be the most comforting thing in the world to him, even when their physical reality is experiencing troubles. "After I call the doctor."

Hello! I want to ask but what do you consider as constructive criticism if say someone commented on how they don't like your character portrayal is that considered constructive criticism? Or are they just being mean?
Is this generic or against my character portrayal lol.
Idk. I think constructive criticism should be more about grammar, structure, spelling, technical stuff. It's natural to feel like criticizing character portrayal in some fics though, especially when suddenly the character does or acts in a weird way that doesn't fit not only their canon personality but also their personality in that fic. But idk if it's constructive criticism because what if the next chapter there's a logical explanation for it? what if the author justifies it in the notes and it kinda makes sense, even though it doesn't to the reader that much?
It's kinda controversial because my impulse would be to comment and criticize all OOCness and bad plots, but I don't cause I think 99% of times it's useless as the authors writes what they want to write.
Unless they explicitly as for any kind of feedback. But even so...I interacted with some author I dislike both as author and as a person, because they sought me more times, with very OOC Itasasu fics that later had SS or Itas*ku shit, and they were so stupid to not even be trolling me, they were so self centered that they didn't realize I hate that shit and would never read it, so I also criticized their potrayal that was totally stupid.
On the other hand, a very popular ff.net Sas*ita author from some years ago totally admitted she writes her own portrayal because she disagrees with Edo Tensei Itachi's canon portrayal, she basically started the submissive Itachi trend and only upon discussing with her about her portrayal she said this which is kinda shocking, as it makes sense to write what she wants but it should be mentioned as OOC on purpose.
As for me, I once wrote a RPF fic that was as IC as an RPF can be ofc, it referred to a lot of 'canon' real events and every time something happens even now I and my gf joke that everything points at that fic of mine lol...but in the fandom it wasn't well received because it showed one of the pairing as a selfish person and the 'fanon' portrayal had him as selfless, one r*ssian bitch created such big drama feeling offended at my portrayal and writing it everywhere and influencing all r*ssian speaking fans, also very passive aggressive of her not addressing me directly and laughing at my back basically, too bad my gf is from a r*ssian speaking country so I knew what was going on, and another bitch commented with long ass shit not against my portrayal, cause it was well done lol, but against the fic structure just out of spite. I am very precise with structure, with what characters know about others and how, so I replied to all the criticism which was pointlessly done without even reading attentively my fic. And, since I fight back, I pointed out this second bitch's fic flaws and not knowing how to react, she justified herself saying she stopped following the real ppl, which totally showed from her fics.
All this criticism from both me and them was not constructive I guess, we all were proud of our fics and portrayals and we didn't change anything after criticism, no matter which was well done and which was ooc.

Unhinged Naruto Rewrite Part 2
Now for that good shit! Madara!! But before that, when obito's about to get the sage of six path's tools, have someone try to use the tools and yell Madara but have no affect on him and he just says '' yes? ''. That would add some more mystery around obito's identity. Also, I'm just removing izanami and itachi doesn't carry the battle. NOW for the real madara, I would change nothing about his intro. Fast forward to madara clapping the 5 kages' cheeks. Have them put up an actual fight but still lose (kinda like op 13 that stuff was beautiful). Fast-forward again to when it's night and they're fighting masked obito. This is how his powers work: when he uses kamui his body just isn't there in the physical world but if he isn't going through an object his body isn't there in the kamui dimension either but he can't just make certain body parts phase through things its his whole body. There, a much better explanation of obito's abilities. Obito's reveal is cinematic in my version, non of that typical happy music, only dramatic violin or piano (ending niji as an example and just like that ending its short and doesn't show his face until its present time and no words). Now madara is on the battle field anndddd flashback time. This was quite tricky because obito should have died. HALF of his entire body was crushed there was no way he could've survived that. Maybe if rinne rebirth was used but that wouldn't make much sense idk Kishimoto could probably think of something. Since orochimaru didn't turn good, tsunade had to heal herself and the other kage. (on a side note let's talk about character design should we? Naruto's first couple of kyubi modes are way too bright like it hurts my eyes, obito's base look isn't as badass and mysterious. So the simplest option is to yassify him, like give him long lashes, get longer hair as soon as he starts wearing the white mask. Ten tails looks fucking atrocious, don't get me started on that DISGUSTING transformation. One question for six paths madara and jubito... WHY THE HELL ARE THEY GREEN. plus madara as six paths just looks bad regardless of the GREEN) Hinata should've died when she fought pain and neji doesn't die, also nagato doesn't revive everyone in the village. Naruto doesn't talk no jutsu obito, kakashi does and ten tails breaks out of obito because it was too unstable.

Hi Bella 💌 Would you mind explaining what makes Itachi a badly written character? I find it hard to break everything down because it's all so confusing especially his reason for wiping out his clan.
Sasuke said he can forgive Itachi even though Itachi said the Uchiha were the ones in the wrong and that he doesn't regret his decision until the end. That made Sasuke question why shinobi want to protect their village at all costs and consequently came up with the shadow hokage plan, while Naruto got his own ''words of wisdom'' from Itachi. Sasuke's and Naruto's character arcs both suffered so Itachi can be portrayed as a saint and that's so fucking frustrating!!!! If Itachi didn't influence other characters I wouldn't care as much.
I think the way Itachi was portrayed in part 1 and what he did to Sasuke proves he was initially meant to be ruthless and evil. After the truth behind the massacre was revealed, Sasuke suddenly remembered that Itachi shed a few tears after putting him through hours of torture with his genjutsu and that was meant to prove Itachi's goodness, that he wanted to protect Sasuke all along. It was such a lame way to back up Itachi's story, I can't help but to roll my eyes.
Itachi fans say it makes sense because we only saw Itachi through Sasuke's POV before the reveal and that Sasuke was an unreliable narrator. These points could have been valid IF the reveal behind the massacre wasn't executed so poorly and if part 1 Itachi was done differently. And i don't see how Itachi beating Sasuke into a coma and telling him he's weak and worthless is unreliable narration? Naruto was there and saw everything as well. Pretty much all the explanations are unbelievable.
And one last thing, I don't know if it makes sense when people say Itachi is just stupid to explain his actions toward Sasuke and his whole story. If it wasn't for Obito Itachi would have successfully manipulated his brother. While it's literally ooc for Naruto to be okay with Itachi using shisui's eye to control Sasuke, it really fits with Itachi's character. He absolutely WOULD do that because he's twisted. It adds up.
Sorry this ended up being so long!
i don’t think i even have anything to explain to you as you asked anon since you basically said everything lol
i think it’s mostly because of how the narrative tries to excuse his actions and portray him as a saint and a genius when he was none of those things you know? like it wouldn’t be bad if itachi was portrayed as a manipulated brainwashed kid that suffered in the government’s hands like a lot of other characters did. instead, they try to justify genocide and paint itachi in the right and for what exactly?
also because of what you said that his actions in part one are so evil… he tortured sasuke twice… so sasuke would live a life full of hatred and anger and loneliness just so he could punish his older brother. if you love him so much why would you want that for him? it’s just so contradictory to me. also how he “planned” everything like- his plans are just mega stupid… oh who would’ve thought sasuke would hate the village that manipulated his brother and ordered the genocide of his family? my my didn’t see that coming like what. and people just… buy everything the narrative brings them
i have a post in my queue about this to be posted this week, i think it will be on thursday, so if you want to wait until then too. i just don’t have much to say because of everything you wrote, his writing is contradictory and stupid, he makes other characters’ writing worse and stupid and the narrative doesn’t help this in the least

Lately I have seen a lot of posts call Naruto selfish for chasing Sasuke what do you think
hello anon i hope u know you just give me the perfect excuse to write a rant ive been iching to write so i apologize that i will make this so long
anyways back to the point. ive seen many people call naruto selfish for chasing dasuke and many other things that at this point i feel like they arent even reading the manga and just choosing what to niptick because they dont like his character and just want to have reasons to hate him. even if the reasons doesnt make sense but whatever.
this all reasons can simply debunked if u read the panel where sasuke himself asks naruto why he never gave up on him and naruto answers saying that he felt sasuke was in pain and couldnt just ignore it. now tell me how is it selfish of one person to not want to see the closest person in his life be sad? shouldnt everyone want their loved ones to be okay?
now here is where people start nipticking and saying stuff even if the story is telling other thing. because when u give that explanation ppl go and say "well but sasuke wasnt in pain" and thats just wrong in so many levels. saying sasuke wasnt in pain is just stupid and a braindead take when all sasuke's rage and desire of revenge borns because of the pain he felt for losing his family and clan and later for finding out his whole life is a lie and itachi was a victim of konoha's brainwashing. by declaring sasuke isnt in pain through the story youre down playing his whole character when its because of that pain he does what he does and hes valid for lashing out and wanting revenge.
and that leads to another argument ppl pull "naruto had no right to get in sasuke's business because sasuke was right". now the thing is just because sasuke is right, doesnt mean naruto's actions are wrong. people are so used to read everything in bad or good, black and white that they simply cant see both sides having reasons to be act the way they do. yes, sasuke was right for wanting revenge and justice thats obvious, but naruto isnt a villain for going after sasuke because he wants him to stop hurting and indulging in self destructive behaviors because before anyone tells me sasuke wasnt doing that, he was.
sasuke was ready to let his body taken away if that means he gets his revenge (yeah he killed orochimaru later, but he even states is because orochimaru has already taught him all he needs and doesnt have more to offer him so he doesnt see point in giving his body). naruto as a person that cares for sasuke obviously wont want this to happen, so him trying chasing sasuke and begging him to leave orochimaru is not smth he does because he's selfish but because he doesn't want to lose him. naruto also has never tried to talk sasuke out of his revenge on itachi btw in fact the two first times naruto comes to face itachi, before the true comes out, naruto seems okay w the contrary happening; when 12 year old sasuke arrives that hotel to fight itachi, naruto doesnt try to intervene until he realizes sasuke isn't strong enough to win against itachi. then later when he meets itachi post skip, naruto literally says that he wants to capture itachi so he gets to talk w sasuke. (basically giving itachi as a gift to sasuke just to get an audience w him lol). naruto only starts to want to stop sasuke's revenge when his revenge shifts to konoha and again, is sasuke right for feeling the way he does? yes, of course he does. will killing everyone in konoha where there still innocent people be the answer? no, it isnt. genocide isnt the answer. maybe if sasuke wanted only his revenge on the elders and to change konoha, naruto's reaction there would've been different but well thats not what sasuke wanted there so naruto wanting to stop this isn't wrong of him. now to the final plan, sasuke's revolution aka last time naruto gets in his way and again its because he doesnt think his plan is right and most importantly because he doesnt want sasuke to destroy himself completely. sasuke's revolution idea was uniting the village by making everyone hate him, he wanted to cut his last bond to be alone and fall into darkness. now tell me, how does this sound healthy from any pov? sasuke is completely right from wanting to end the system that exists, but his way to do it is literally a plan that ends with him being miserable for all his life by being alone which is smth that naruto doesnt want to happen. thats why kishimoto made the entire vote2 be about sasuke wanting to end his last bond/naruto refusing to let sasuke do that.
so no, i dont think naruto's chasing after sasuke is just him being selfish and disregarding sasuke's feelings. yes naruto has made mistakes because hes not meant to be perfect but him genuinely caring for sasuke and wanting him to stop being in pain is not selfish.

I was saying some posts ago that Naruto trying to be like "no WE will" could have a point in that Sasuke needs to work as a team, but already Sasuke knows he needs Naruto's help and he's saying it without any emphasis being put on this by Kishimoto. So Naruto making sure he is also emphasized in when working with Sasuke shows, to me, that he has not changed as a character and the series is almost over, not that Naruto knows the importance of teamwork and Sasuke wasn't getting it. He's getting it just fine now.
As for Sasuke's character development regression, alright so Sasuke is back to being mad that Naruto keeps getting strong...after not caring for the entirety of shippuden and having instances of people talk about Naruto to Sasuke and him verbally saying he doesn't care about Naruto. Show me on the timeline of Sasuke's character how this fits in. Even with the concept of Naruto and Sasuke having to fight for the fate of Konoha or whatever (that I think was a bit forcibly executed anyway), there's nothing there about Sasuke having any thoughts or feelings about Naruto's strength. And frankly, it's really shitting on Sasuke's character to have him care at this point. I thought it was pretty obvious that the reason Sasuke cared and was threatened by Naruto's growth was because if the class dunce is better than him how can Sasuke possibly beat Itachi, the genius, perfect older brother? Well, that thought process hasn't been a factor for hundreds of chapters at this point. So why does Sasuke care? I'm sure someone, somewhere wants to cram this round peg into a square hole and try to make it make sense, but I think the easier and more sensible explanation at this point is that Kishimoto/editors/whoever wanted that Naruto and Sasuke fight at the end and they got to up the stakes and fuck Sasuke's character if that's what needs to be done.

That makes a lot of sense. Of course Sasuke needs to struggle in order to make that part of his storyline seem in anyway satisfying, and he also needs to be an achievable standard for Naruto to live up to. It's not that I don't think he should have that struggle, it's just that to me it seems inconsistent with what we know about him.
We know that he is not only supposed to be naturally talented he's also supposed to embody the Indra-effortless-talent thing, but Sasuke doesn't seem to be effortlessly talented and a genius because we have other characters who beat his ass constantly and he works insanely hard. Naruto seems to make leaps and bounds really quickly when we see him slacking off and goofing around instead of training seriously, but Naruto is constantly made out to be an idiot who has to work hard? It's just such a muddle.
Sakura, however talented, just shouldn't be able to surpass Sasuke canonically, even if certain things are easier for her to learn since she has a strong affinity for chakra control.
There's also the aspect of Sasuke working hard to surpass Itachi and he never does? There isn't a single point in the series where I could pinpoint Sasuke being a genuine threat to Itachi without some unnatural unearned buffer. It's just so unsatisfying because he trained his whole life and still wasn't good enough.
Having Sasuke struggle and have him feel inferior to naruto is essential for the later story arc, but the way it was executed makes him still look unimpressive when he really shouldn't be. He was able to use his nature affinity for fire at like 6 years old and then he doesn't know how to walk on water at 12? I understand an explanation where we hear that he's hindered by his trauma and that actively impacts his learning and his chakra control but that's never something that seems like an issue.
His power scaling is inconsistent and it seems to either make him weak or strong depending on how narutos storyline is supposed to go. If naruto is meant to be the hero who saves everyone, sasuke needs to be made weaker or put out of commission. If he's supposed to feel jealous and inferior, then sasuke is seen as more talented and impressive.
god yeah, you got it. i personally like it better if he's not naturally perfect at everything and that he secretly works his ass off for his talent. or, better, he is naturally talented, but he still works his ass off to be the absolute best and dominate the competition

in the context of the sequels the last jedi is decently good actually. they took what they were given with force awakens (good characters but essentially the same plot as new hope) and tried to go somewhere different with it
was it successful? idk. I enjoyed it, which is more than can be said for rise of Skywalker, which kept throwing me out of the fucking plot by being absolute dogshit.
did I like what they did with Luke? yeah. IN THE CONTEXT OF THE SEQUELS, yeah. we've already started in a shit spot is what I'm saying. we KNOW he's missing. we KNOW there's no other fuckin jedi around so clearly he was unsuccessful. we know Benji is all sith adjacent and he's a solo so Luke MUST have trained him clearly that didn't go well.
so where the fuck do you go from there. you walk into the second movie KNOWING Luke had to have failed. and like... I dunno man, imagine you're Luke and you were barely trained bc everyone kept dying and they you try to train your nephew and somehow he falls to the dark side? Surely that gives you the sense of personal responsibility. If attachments turn jedi into sith then maybe there just shouldn't be any jedi. I can see the logical progression here.
And no we aren't going to discuss any Palpatine related retconning. The crumbly old shit died on the death star.
I think in the end the problem isn't last jedi. The problem is the whole thing. Force awakens was visually stunning and I love finn and rey and poe but there's nothing THERE. I know whosit likes that stupid mystery box shit but force awakens isn't that. there's no mystery. Luke isn't there because he failed everyone he loves. We established that up top. Who are reys parents? This question is so genuinely meaningless. If she's a force user her parents could be anyone. if she's not a force user her parents could be anyone. surprise! anyone can be born with force sensitivity! if that wasn't the case then the jedi would have ceased to exist hundreds if not thousands of years prior because they weren't breeding!
anyway if you think last jedi "ruined" the sequels or luke or whatever you're wrong bc it was already not gonna be good. the only way to write a story like that is to ACTUALLY WRITE IT not make it up on the fly. anyway anyway anyway
actually another thing I think it was fine for Luke to die in this movie actually the REAL problem is Kyle killing Han in awakens because THEY DID NOT WRITE AN IN CANON REASON FOR THIS HAPPENING. its literally some itachi test my abilities bullshit? but it doesn't work? but it does work? made no fucking sense. I know mr Ford didn't wanna be in the movies anymore thats fine hes a million years old. but you have to write down in black and white WHY this is happening and give it to the next movie or else uou get nothing. there's no good explanation because he didn't do it for a reason. again we started out with nothing the story starts with nothing!!!!

Ok so, questions for OoT: Do Hashi + Madara cheer when Rock Lee kicks Sasuke's ass? If that still happens. Do they save Lee from getting his leg + arm crushed by Gaara's sand? Do Kabuto + Hashirama ever fight one another? If so, does Hashi kick Kabuto's ass? What does Hashi think of Kabuto's regeneration ability? Do Tsuande + Hashirama ever team up + kick ass? Please, I need this so bad. Also maybe Hashi hugging Tsunade when she has her freak out over seeing blood? Please? Does Madara face off with Itachi after Hiruzen dies (if Hiruzen still does die)? Do Hashi + Madara manage to save Sasuke from getting beaten by Itachi when Itachi + Sasuke see one another again in canon, when Naruto is doing his training with Jiraiya? (Also please tell me Madara at least stabs Jiraiya for stealing all of Naruto's saving when Jiraiya had plenty of money himself, AND was supposed to financially support Naruto as Naruto's godfather. If Madara doesn't just outright steal/demand Jiraiya give Naruto his money back or pay him back. That bothered me so much in canon.) I haven't been able to keep up with out of fic stuff in a while because of irl stuff, so I'm sorry if you've already answered these. Just link me, please, if you have?
Hey no worries! OoT is a monster that takes most of my energy to manage, lol, I don't expect everyone to be able to keep up with everything so please don't feel bad or like you're bothering me by asking! I haven't answered most of these questions, I'll answer a few below the cut but not quite all because 1. got to keep a few secrets :P and 2. I don't have specific answers to all of them yet either lol!
Do Hashi + Madara cheer when Rock Lee kicks Sasuke's ass?
Doesn't quite progress to that point! All of Team 7 and Gai's team go out for Sasuke and Lee's fight (here with a slightly different set up and explanation for why Gai's team was outside of the room bc that scene still irritates me in canon lol) but Team 13 gets lost (read: Hashirama and Madara not used to big buildings like the school and Sai laughing as they stumble around) and wanders in right before the fight happens and interrupts it. Even if they had been watching and not interfering they wouldn't be cheering outright I'd say. Hashirama has nothing against Sasuke and neither really does Madara. He doesn't has a grudge from the clan head duel, but Sasuke is a walking trigger for his own trauma that he subconsciously avoids.
Do they save Lee from getting his leg + arm crushed by Gaara's sand?
😶 The Tenten v Gaara fight happens and she's pissed at him so...
Do Kabuto + Hashirama ever fight one another? If so, does Hashi kick Kabuto's ass?
Not in the chunin arc (maybe in search for Tsunade, but probably not? Honestly idk at this point). Kabuto has a very good sense of self-preservation and he pegged them almost immediately as weird kids that he does not want to get involved with.
What does Hashi think of Kabuto's regeneration ability?
Honestly idk. I'm still trying to figure out how to classify it in a way. It's not from the mokuton, that really wouldn't make sense with my lore, but I'm not sure what else it stems from. I'm open to ideas and reactions to this, if anyone wants to suggest something! Otherwise I might make it where Kabuto doesn't have a regeneration ability, but he's such a competent medic, it's like he mimics the ability.
Do Tsuande + Hashirama ever team up + kick ass? Please, I need this so bad. Also maybe Hashi hugging Tsunade when she has her freak out over seeing blood? Please?
Yes, eventually. Their meetings are...rough at first. Hashirama and Madara know how Madara dies at this point and Hashirama has a grudge the size of the five elemental countries against his edo self (which will also be revealed if it's him or a parallel version by this point 😉) and he connects Tsunade to that at first and it puts an initial strain on their relationship. Add in Hashirama is very different from the "god of shinobi" Tsunade grew up with, 5 imo is too young to recognize the flaws and humanity in parents/grandparents so she doesn't have that perspective, and it leads to a clash. Not to mention the giant elephant in the room, Madara, and well...it's just a tough family reunion. I will say though the longer the fic goes on the bigger the "ripples" and canon divergences will be. There's a big moment at the end of the chunin arc that impacts...pretty much everything else in drastic ways. Just be prepared for a pretty sharp diverge!
Does Madara face off with Itachi after Hiruzen dies (if Hiruzen still does die)?
Hiruzen does die but I'm going to be mum about the rest of this 😉 Note I do have plans though 👀
Do Hashi + Madara manage to save Sasuke from getting beaten by Itachi when Itachi + Sasuke see one another again in canon, when Naruto is doing his training with Jiraiya?
Another one that's a mix of I have ideas but not solid enough to commit yet lol. Also the big spoiler at the end of chunin will affect this as you'll see!
Also please tell me Madara at least stabs Jiraiya for stealing all of Naruto's saving when Jiraiya had plenty of money himself, AND was supposed to financially support Naruto as Naruto's godfather. If Madara doesn't just outright steal/demand Jiraiya give Naruto his money back or pay him back. That bothered me so much in canon.
Oh fam, let me just say Madara and Jiraiya do not get along and the hate is mutual. Madara is 12 and he's going to fight that old man for custody of another 12 y/o and win. The money issue will definitely be brought up and dealt with. He, and all of Team 13 really, has zero tolerance for Jiraiya. I try to avoid the cliche "bashing" fic style, but I'm not going to shy away from Jiraiya's shitty canonical behavior and the "heart of gold pervert" is a character archetype that I loathe with the passion of a thousand suns. He's not getting excused for that either. Tsunade and Jiraiya have a complicated relationship with two people (three with Orochimaru) have experienced war and some of the absolute worst that humanity has had to offer and only each other to depend on...but then that trusted friend betrayed you and your boundaries and treating you like an object not a person and suddenly your entire relationship can never be the same (ie the peeping in the bath and almost killing him scene isn't going to be treated like a cute little jokey-joke~ Top 10 things I hated in canon, I can write an entire long post about this alone lol.)

Are you sure you like Sasuke and not a fanon version of him ? Because you seem to complain way too much about his development.
I think that's a bold statement considering we haven't really gotten to the part of his development that really fucks me off.
I wouldn't say I like a fanon version of Sasuke because I acknowledge the "development" I just think it's bad and doesn't make sense.
For the example of things we've already covered Sasuke starts off mad about the fate of his clan as we see during the kage summit arc (there's a reason it's my favorite iteration of Sasuke), but by the time Itachi gets brought back the fate of the Uchiha clan is barely ever mentioned if at all. There's no explanation for this change in Sasuke. Does he suddenly agree that it's okay if his clan died but he's still mad about Itachi? It doesn't make sense that he is suddenly only concerned about how this all effected Itachi.
I think it's pretty obvious that Kishimoto was backtracking on making Konoha "the bad guys" as evidenced by this change in Sasuke and the fact that the actions of the Konoha higher ups aren't mentioned again and there are no consequences nor is it framed as tragic that the Konoha higher ups don't experience any consequences.
I don't see anywhere on this blog where I've denied the reality of what has happened. All my posts are about how that happens and how/why it's bad. I'm not out here pretending Sasuke didn't just drop the Uchiha thing and I'm also not going to pretend Sasuke doesn't magically care about Naruto all along when that happens. And I don't think pointing out bad writing is only liking a fanon version of a character? If I love most of what Sasuke does, but have some problems with parts that are legitimately poor writing I don't think that means liking a fanon version.
Now if Kishimoto was more successful in portraying Sasuke suddenly not caring about the fate of his clan for a reason (which to do he'd have to have Sasuke be like "You know I thought about it and my parents deserved to die because coup" so yikes) and left better hints throughout the series that Sasuke cared about Naruto all along and was in love or whatever with Sakura all long would I like Sasuke like I do now? Probably not. But I defy anyone to find a character they would still like if major aspect of their character were tweaked so 🤷‍♀️ wouldn't say it's fair to say I like a fanon version of Sasuke's character for something that applies to most people.

This may be such a small insignificant Sasuke moment in the series BUT it has bothered me that no one had given me an explanation that makes sense to his character.
The moment I am referring to is when Itachi and Kisame come to the village and the confrontation in that hallway where Naruto is there and Sasuke is freaking out... why does Sasuke tug on his collar on the opposite side of his curse mark? Why does he do this? What was the point? It bothers me because for the majority, Sasuke's behaviors and choice in dialog had been written so specific and complimentary to his character. Most of his actions make sense to the personality that the writers gave him: except that one moment.
Fans have told me that the writers forgot the mark was on the other side: unlikely, because he does this in both the manga and anime. How is it that they made the same mistake twice? Others have said maybe because Sasuke has chidori formed in his left hand (which is his dominant hand and the side of his curse mark) and that's why he pulled down his right side: But that doesn't add up because why would he still tug on the wrong side?
Again I know how small this is, but what do you think? What could he be trying to tell Itachi in that moment? I know not every Sasuke moment can have a deeper meaning but he never acts without reason. What do you think?
Tumblr media
Small detail mean a lot sometimes, I get obsessed with some too. But this one I never thought about, I’m not good with this kind of details. I mean I remember him tugging at his collar, kind of exposing his curse mark, but I didn’t think about sides, dominant hand, eventual mistakes. I kinda get confused with these.
An out of universe consideration is that kishi, like most authors, doesn’t give a meaning to every single details since he’s probably more focused on the overall thing (the chapter) and he, his staff and mangaka in general, also have to consider the pagination and so they draw stuff in a way that looks aesthetically pleasant, cool, whatever the want to convey, poses included. That one looks slightly weird but I didn’t think about it that much.
If I have to think about an in-universe explanation maybe he subconsciously slowed Itachi what had happened to him? Kind of like ‘look what you did to me’, which would make sense considering his speech, where he quoted Itachi’s, and said he did all those things, hating him, living an unsightly life, and he wanted to kill him. So that gesture might add something more to that.
