#see the issue is i feel like that isnt the main problem with kabuto here lmao#I've been gone for so long but ahem. as a kabuto scholar-#i feel like kabuto's main issue is that he was forced into this position by literally every outside force around him#the leaf village tried to kill him. he had no choice but to stay with orochimaru. after orochimaru died he had -nowhere to go-#but at this point in the story kishimoto doesn't want to acknowledge the problems with ninja society that led kabuto here#and that's why this explanation falls so flat to me#the most kabuto gets is itachi saying ''well it wasn't all his fault'' but not elaborating on why#and itachi is the one that is seen as in the right for making the decision to kill his entire clan in the name of upholding the status quo#so kishimoto can't outright blame kabuto's problems on the leaf village. so instead some reasons are thrown out here#that genuinely make no sense to me#and itachi claiming kabuto reminds him of himself also doesn't make much sense to me#because itachi always came across to me as incredibly sure of himself. always knew who he was and what he needed to do#which is... the opposite of kabuto#and itachi's explanation doesn't make it make sense to me.#kabuto had an amazing arc and this little summary from itachi here just ignores all of it to make up something entirely different#just in my own opinion at least.#naruto#kabuto#kabuto yakushi#mangacap#everykabuto#fourth shinobi world war: climax#chapter 587

Woke up this morning thinking about how most of the Riders in Kabuto are introduced as if they're Tendou's new rival but quickly fall into his narrative gravity and just sorta orbit around him sequestered in their own corners because they're competing for the same spot and the path of heaven is narrow
EXCEPT when the Hoppers becomes the Hoppers and they don't even care about him anymore because they're seeking the exact opposite (Hell) and they fully escape that tension and gravity. They're almost able to escape Kabuto itself, they've got it figured out
(Similarly, Kagami goes through the same cycle from trying to use Kabuto, then TheBee, which have established types, until getting his moment by continuing to try and be the very different kind of hero of his own story to the kind of hero this show actually has. The HBV of all things is entirely about this)
It's not that Tendou /is/ The Best Guy, he's just more himself than anyone else in the world has ever been themself, and you can't be the most you by trying to be someone else, you have to be you
In other words:
Tumblr media
Kamen Rider Kabuto is the only show ever maybe
P.S. this bit in the final episode:
Tumblr media
I used to think it was a sweet bookend but a bit out of nowhere...fool that I was. Fool that I was!

I always want to see the Strawhats use each other's moves during battle. Maybe they get in a situation where they couldn't use their trademark attacks for some reason (losing their weapons, sea stone prism, etc.,) so they resort to using their fellow crewmates' moveset to do so.
Zoro getting into a stalemate and his swords out of reach. The enemy hasn't notice him yet, so he need to take them down somehow. So he uses Asura Mode and uses Robin's Clutch technique, snapping a lot of bones in the process.
Brook using Zoro's multi swords style to battle againsts an opponent as his cane sword was snapped in half by the enemy. He looks like the Grim Reaper when using this technique.
Sanji centering all the heat within the room into one attack, and when that fails realise that since he throw away the heat the room became freezing, so he uses Brook's technique and instead of flaming kicks he now has frozen skates that can cut and freeze through anything.
Nami learning from Sanji's Diable Jambe and creates a rain of fire, or better yet a flaming tornado. Plus, since the weather in One Piece is weird she might able to utilise the strange weather phenomenon to her advantage.
Chopper using Nami's knowledge of electricity to arm himself with it. So in addition to his forms he can now discharge bolts of lightning by using static collected in his Guard Point. Or if he wants to speed it up, asks Nami to hit him with a Lightning Tempo.
Usopp using a combination of his shots in a similar way to Chopper. That is, he manages to make a two in one shot, which has two layers and has two effects instead of one. He and Chopper try to see what happen if they combine rumble ball with one of his pop greens. Needless to say experimentations involving combining those two are now illegal on the ship.
Jinbe using Usopp's advice on how to aim on fast moving enemies. He doesn't use a device or anything but needless to say he kinda has his own water gun now. It has better precision, so Jinbe doesn't need to worry about hitting his friends. It doesn't have a huge range like the kabuto, but still packs a punch.
Luffy learning stances from Jinbe and how to ground himself better. It doesn't go well because, well... Luffy. But he did learn how to further enhance the rebounding attacks he uses against Enel on Skypiea. Zoro has a harder time dodging Luffy's accidental punch now.
Franky modifying himself to have a cable in between his wrists and fists, so when he uses a rocket punch he can pull his fist back, or better yet make a slingshot with it.
And finally, Robin using Franky's speed build technique he used on Thriller Bark. She's nowhere near as good as Franky when it comes to building, but she is very good at doing the opposite. She had dismantled a lot of the Marine's ship engines by now.

Hi, sorry to bother. There is something that has been bugging me about Itachi and maybe you are the right person to ask this to. I found on Tumblr that a lot of people in the fandom hate on Itachi based on something he said during the fight with Sasuke against Kabuto. Apparently, when he is about to release the Edo Tensei, he says that he was able to defend the village as Itachi Uchiha of the Leaf, and that he has "no regrets".
I was super confused by this because it is not at all what he says on the anime version for my language. Here he says he will dispel the Edo Tensei, Sasuke asks "then you will leave as well", and Itachi answers that, as he managed to defend Konoha again, there is nothing left to keep him in this world. To which Sasuke reacts angrily because he demanded answers for him and Itachi seems to want to leave without telling him anything, and he does not understand why he wants to protect Konoha after all they did to him. I watched the arc many times, and Itachi never says he has no regrets. Quite the opposite.
Do you think this is maybe a translation problem? Do you have any idea of what he says in the original version? Because "I have no regrets" really does not fit with what Itachi had said all the time in that fight. He kept mentioning his fails and his regrets. And it does not fit Sasuke's reaction at all. If Itachi had said he had not regrets, Sasuke should have been confused and enraged.
Anyway, sorry for the rant and have a nice day.
I'll say the people in your country's dubbing made a wiser choice, because 'I have no other regrets' is what he says in the anime and manga both. I don't have the original Japanese manga, because it's hard to find it, I think. Every time I read or watch that part, I roll my eyes, not at Itachi but at Kishimoto's writing. He just knew how to ruin a perfect character development for silly drama. Now, I'm not the kind of person to blame the authors for the characters saying things and I'm not overly critical of Kishimoto either, although I'd still make some changes in how he wrote Itachi. But Kishi just inserted that one sentence that sticks out like a sore thumb that has no connection with what he's said so far or behaved with Sasuke.
Like you said, his entire interaction with Sasuke as well as Kabuto leading upto this moment bleeds of his regrets and guilts. He didn't have just one regret, but a cluster of it, which he had to face eventually accepting in the ways he failed.
The first time he meant Sasuke this was his first reaction.
Tumblr media
He wasn't denying Sasuke was wrong - a criminal, at that, but he knew it wasn't Sasuke's fault either. It was his own doing, the hatred Itachi wanted to exploit to make Sasuke stronger ended up backfiring badly. There was no positive outcome that came out of him handling Sasuke the way he did.
Tumblr media
Here, too, Itachi knew he had no right to lecture Sasuke on the paths he had chosen or what he wanted to do. He couldn't just say "you're wrong" when he himself had pushed Sasuke on that path, and he acknowledged it. If it's not regret, I'm not sure what else does it look like.
Tumblr media
Itachi spent his whole life lying and as good as his intentions were he messed up real bad, especially Sasuke. One more admission of his failure. No one without regrets will ever say something like this. It's also to note that he's dead, so he can't make up for the damage he's caused, so the least he can do is accept he failed. And he does.
Tumblr media
This particular page is so much more important than anything to assess Itachi's character. After he's shown Sasuke the truth he admits he's been wrong and he's nothing but a man built on the skeletons of his kins and lies he himself protected. He admits Sasuke is a better person than him, purer than him, who could have succeeded where Itachi failed; and it was his fault that he never trusted anyone, not even Sasuke. He can't do anything else now, but he at least can be truthful and let Sasuke have his share of truth he rightfully deserved.
Tumblr media
At long last this. He knew he can't be forgiven so he doesn't beg for Sasuke's forgiveness. He knows nothing - no words, no tears, no apologies can ever make up for what he did. And sasuke isn't obliged to forgive him. He's still okay if Sasuke continues to hate him. He didn't think he was worthy of Sasuke's devotion, love, and his forgiveness. If he'd lived, yes, it would be a different story, but his death prevented him from making up for the things he'd done.
With all this available info, I'm not going to let that one phrase decide that "Itachi had no regrets". These are the instances that are in sync with his actual character and personality, and what he know about him from the beginning (that is, Sasuke's flashbacks). He loves Sasuke and throughout their fight against Kabuto, he protects Sasuke on his instincts. Like I said, he didn't have just one regret, that of ruining Sasuke's life, but so many more. People really expect Itachi to fall to Sasuke's feet and beg for forgiveness with tears in his eyes. I'd love a scene like that too, but Itachi lived his life suppressing his feelings, never verbalized them. Here, talking to Sasuke is literally the only time he expresses himself honestly. It's the only time he openly admits he was wrong, he failed, and most importantly, he loves his brother so much. Being dead didn't mean he was in therapy for the time being so he could communicate with Sasuke more openly and in a "healthy" way. He does try to be the kind of brother he would have been had he not been in the circumstances he was put in, thanks to the village.
Although, I don't entirely hate that one line, but that has more to do with Sasuke's reaction to it. Many people comment that Sasuke was just blind towards Itachi's flaws because of his love, which is why he forgave him so easily, but when he calls him out for this, we know that's not true. He doesn't go "I understand you were trying to help me and save my life so it's okay you put me through hell." He never tries to justify Itachi and neither does Itachi defend himself using this "excuse". They both knew Itachi's actions had no justification, which is why Itachi was okay with still not being forgiven and Sasuke, despite forgiving him doesn't use this as an excuse to defend his brother.
When I earlier said that phrase was included for the silly drama, I didn't mean Sasuke's reaction, but the narrative involving Naruto in the brothers' dynamic because Itachi later answers "I can't change you, only Naruto can." I have a huge issue with that too, but I understand that since Naruto is the main character, it has to come back to him somehow. It's also one of the main reasons I'm glad Itachi died. Imagine him turning into one of Naruto, the character, fanboys like Gaara and Kakashi and abandoning Sasuke. That would have ruined his character for me.
As far as Itachi's haters are concerned, I've stopped taking them seriously. Once upon a time I used to think it was probably a matter of different opinions because he's a "minimalistic" character where most info on him comes from unreliable narrators and can be taken either way. However, when I got into reading manga, it turned out that haters usually have no basis other than being angry on the things he's already acknowledged himself. So, why are you so outraged? What do you want to prove with the longish gibberish you call meta? This website is infested with his rabid haters so you'll find them even if you block the anti tag. I just see hypocrisy, ignoring canon for their own convenience because it feeds their hateful bias. This one is one of those countless instances. They can just seethe.

Sasuke isn't compatible with any forms of romantic relationships whether instinctively or purposely with anyone including Naruto
Many people may think i ship SasuKarin but truth is no matter how much I try I can't imagine people like KaKashi( survivor of tragedy who can't overcome his trauma by himself can be in romantic relation?), Gaara, kabuto, orchimaru, jugo etc. people being in romantic relationship,
similarly Sasuke can't either, survivor of crime against humanity, i think brotherhood bond from naruto is happiness for Sasuke and him wandering the world freely and helping naruto from shadow but for offspring, he can get help from orchimaru and karin and create a child of his own, leave the child under karin or naruto, sasuke is a person who doesn't need romance or compatible with romantic relationship, i ship sasukarin is only cz karin is selfless in gaiden and wanted best of sasuke meaning she will take care of sasuke's child as a caretaker mother even if sasuke doesn't reciprocate her romantic feelings, that's how noble Karin had become so noble since gaiden,
whereas sakura was always forcefully romantic towards sasuke even in chapter 699 she forced sasuke to reciprocate her forced fantasy based romance when he never was the fiest one to show any special romantic interest towards sakura other than comradeship like he did with kakashi and naruto, in gaiden too,
sakura is a girl who wants romantic relationship from her respective partner, in which case only someone like rock lee or hashirama or minato or child obito like personality can give her perfect romantic relation, someone like minato is perfect for sakura who has both sasuke's good looking and skills and naruto's quality to be able naturally social with others, so someone like minato is perfect for sakura and will understand her romantic feelings, sasuke is far from that, he is romantically incompatible with someone like sakura along with everyone else, sasusaku is recipe for disaster, it forced sasuke to play a role he never naturally wanted or not compatible instinctively whereas sakura in gaiden regressed her natural personality bcs of this relationship mainly cz she is obsessed without any deep, valuable, memorable background connection with sasuke which made it more incompatible as natural romantic relationship and sakura suffers the most than sasuke as she has to totally revise her lifestyle and regress her natural lively personality, that's why this ship is forced, toxic and one-sided and sasuke is incompatible with any kind of romantic relationship, only camaraderie, familial relation where he is compatible with such as brotherhood of narusasu and fatherhood with sarada etc.
if you make sasuke romantic it will not be kishi's sasuke but another author's creation, naturally kishi's sasuke is aromantic and can live his life without romance and marriage but sakura is totally complete opposite whose whole character is based on romantic love from someone, someone like minato is compatible with sakura who is mixture of narusasu, a perfect man for every shallow romance loving girls like sakura or previous ino but sakura forced to compromise her natural personality or regressed her natural character traits in gaiden whereas esaka regressed sasuke's natural character in retsuden
moral is sasuke is instinctively or voluntarily incompatible with romance and sakura has to regress her personality or character traits bc of SS and SS was able to happen for extreme initiating from sakura(like blank era novel and gaiden mentioned) and sasuke never the first one to voluntarily showed or initiate any romantic interest towards sakura aside from comradeship in part 1 and not even in gaiden we have no concrete details of blank era from original mangaka but vague and ambiguous details,
sasuke never meant for any kind of romantic relation and SS is forced recipe from sakura and forced to regress her whole natural character traits from part 1 to part 2 in gaiden and boruto manga only comes back when sasuke isn't around, which is pretty unromantic.
so my preferable eding would be karin as sasuke's clone child caretaker mother which is perfect than sasukarin as sasuke can't have instinctively or voluntarily romantic relation with anyone even with naruto bc of his severe past tragedy which shaped his whole lifestyle and gave birth his present personality which is incompatible with any kind of romantic relationship

At first glance, Kakashi's room was sparse of anything but a few pictures and a small potted plant in the window. It was the opposite of Sakura's room, which was teeming with decor and testaments to things she was interested in before she was taken. Seeing it had been like seeing a version of Sakura that you'd never had the chance to meet. A happier version.
But Kakashi's room gave little away.
You weren't exactly sure what you were seeking from Kakashi, and you almost wished he'd suggest something for you to do. You were standing awkwardly by the door as the man gathered a few books from his bed and set them aside. You eyed the newly-emptied space and wondered if it was too late to back out the door and shut yourself in your room.
But the thought of being alone again made your stomach twist in fear rather than nervousness. This was easy compared to the idea of dreaming of Orochimaru again. You were having trouble coping with the hold that he still had on you in your dreams.
"You can sleep in the bed, if you'd like. I can sleep on the floor, or–"
"No, don't. I'm imposing on you, I shouldn't take your bed too."
You both eyed the rather sizable space on the mattress, and you were sure that Kakashi was turning over the same idea that you were. Sharing a bed didn't seem all that different from sleeping together in the tent, but this wasn't something you were doing out of necessity. This was born out of fear and crippling solitude.
"I...don't want you to do anything you're not comfortable with."
Were you comfortable with Kakashi? It felt like you were, but you couldn't remember when exactly that shift had taken place. On the mission, when you'd accepted that you had to rely on him to watch your back? Or at his house when you spent nights getting a few hours of light sleep on the couch with him.
Admittedly, his bed looked much more comfortable than his couch.
"It's fine," you took a hesitant step towards his bed, glaring at it like it was an obstacle, "I don't mind."
He clearly didn't believe you, but he shrugged, slipped under his covers, and picked his book back up. No expectations or demands, but not a rejection either. It was a new type of kindness that made something in your chest loosen.
You slipped carefully under the covers on the opposite side of the bed, leaving enough room so that you wouldn't shift and touch Kakashi in your sleep.
The mattress sank with your added weight, and you turned on your side to face Kakashi, eyes cracked open. As much as you wanted to avoid looking at him for fear of getting flustered, you still couldn't bring yourself to put your back to someone who wasn't Sakura. This was all so new. Trusting someone enough to keep them out of sight while you slept was one too many obstacles for the night.
But your quick heartbeat wasn't the same as it had been during your panic attack. It wasn't a feeling that threatened to consume you. It was just a reminder that you were in close proximity to Kakashi.
You were starting to accept that there was something about being in his presence that made sleeping through the night peaceful. That something also seemed to make the logical side of your mind shut down.
Tumblr media
That night, Kakashi woke up gasping for air.
He knew that being next to you wouldn't give him a one-hundred percent success rate for restful nights, but he'd at least hoped that he wouldn't have to deal with waking from a nightmare in front of you so soon. Maybe after you'd both gotten used to this arrangement (one that he selfishly hoped would last longer than one night).
Obito's face still lingered in front of him, and he shook away the unwanted images of his friends dead, all because he wasn't strong enough to keep them safe.
"You okay?"
He glanced down at you and chuckled at the unfamiliar picture of your eyes barely open and your face pressed against a pillow. He should've figured that you'd be a light sleeper. Next time he'd have to try and control himself after waking up. You hadn't come here just to be burdened by his nightmares.
"Yeah," he sighed, "sorry, I'm alright. Go back to sleep."
He let out a heavy sigh, resting his head in his hands and squeezing his eyes shut. He had to keep it together. At least until you had fully adjusted.
"If you want to talk about it," you said quietly, voice still groggy, "I don't mind."
He laughed, looking down at you with a small smile.
"You don't look happy to be awake right now."
"I can be awake," you shrugged. He started to protest when you shifted, but you waved him off and settled on your side.
"Lay down," you muttered, more of a suggestion than anything else, but he didn't hesitate to do as you asked. "Hold out your hand."
Again, with little hesitation and almost no thought of your motives, he extended his hand until it was midway between you and him. You mirrored the movement, and he froze from shock alone when you hooked your pinkie around his. He wondered if it was just exhaustion that was making you act without thinking, but you seemed a bit more aware now. Maybe you were just becoming comfortable with his presence faster than he'd expected.
"I used to do this with Sakura," you whispered with a fond smile. "She was troublesome. Whenever I messed up and got thrown in a cell overnight, she would always make sure she ended up there with me. There were grates between each cell with just enough space for us to do this. She wanted me to know that I wasn't alone."
Kakashi felt his chest ache at the idea of you and Sakura being imprisoned in the place that was supposed to be your home. The image of Sakura deliberately putting herself there just to do then what you were doing for him now made the gesture feel much more significant. It almost felt sacred.
"It made me feel at ease," you whispered, eyes barely open, "how do you feel now?"
In all honesty, his heart was still racing. But images of bloody bodies and comrades lost weren't haunting him anymore. He gave a hum in response and closed his eyes, focusing on the warm point of contact between you. He felt that warmth spread through the rest of his body and lull him to sleep.
He only slept for a few more hours, but he woke well-rested and found that he had an easier time fending off unwanted memories than the last time he'd jolted awake.
He also felt a strange, unfamiliar weight on his arm.
You hadn't woken yet, but you had moved at some point in the few hours since you'd both fallen asleep. Instead of just holding on to his pinkie, you had grabbed his hand and pulled it towards you, hugging his arm and tucking it into your chest.
He felt his heartbeat pick up again. He sat completely still, afraid that moving would wake you up.
He thought he'd seen what you looked like when you were at peace when you slept during the mission. Even when you spent nights on the couch, you seemed to be sleeping peacefully. Now, you almost looked happy. He swore that he saw a small smile on your face, though that could've just been his mind playing tricks on him.
He thought back to when Sakura was younger and small enough that he could lift her on his shoulders. At that age, she liked the feeling of being surrounded in a hug. He always wondered if it was the reassurance that nothing could get to her that was appealing.
Kakashi had spent his fair share of nights trying to chase away nightmares of her parents' deaths by hugging her close and keeping her tucked under his chin. He couldn't imagine that her nightmares improved while she was in the Red Room. It was likely that you had taken over for him and spent nights keeping Sakura close to try and unburden her of her fears.
Maybe you'd gotten used to having something to hold. Maybe being deprived of that now was taking more of a toll on you than you realized.
He did his best to keep still, but a few moments later, your grip on his arm and hand tightened enough that he knew you'd woken up. He glanced up and met your eyes, though you looked more confused than anything else.
"Mm..." you sucked in a breath, looking down at where you were holding Kakashi's hand. Realization dawned on you at the same moment that you threw it back at him, your confusion morphing into horror, "I'm so sorry. I didn't even realize–"
"It's alright."
"I didn't mean to...make you uncomfortable or anything."
"You didn't."
"Oh," you huffed, turning on your back and staring up at the ceiling, "okay. Good."
He wanted to ask if you remembered waking up last night, either to give you some peace of mind that he'd been perfectly comfortable with you touching him or to determine whether or not it was drowsiness that made you so open to comforting him. But you looked embarrassed enough as it was, so he kept his mouth shut.
"Thank you for letting me stay here," you said quietly, "I appreciate it."
"Anytime."
You nodded, giving him a small, half-hearted smile before you were on your feet and heading towards the door. He sat up and watched you go, searching for the right words.
"I mean it," he rushed out before you could rush out. You glanced back, expression unreadable, "really. You can sleep here anytime you want."
It shouldn't have been this hard to talk to someone, but he felt himself second-guessing all of his words just to make sure they were the right ones. He wanted to figure out how to talk to you in a way that made you feel at peace.
"Okay," you nodded, "thank you."
He didn't expect you to accept his offer, but that night, you were in front of his door once again.
Tumblr media
Two weeks later
Sakura woke up far earlier than she would've liked with stiff limbs and excess energy to burn off. Her room had enough space that she could stretch out on the floor and try to loosen up, but she still felt an ache in her legs that she knew was a result of cutting off her training so abruptly after her escape. She had gotten used to an intense daily routine in the Red Room, and while it wasn't the most pleasant form of training, she almost missed starting her mornings with activity.
It had been nearly two months since she was given permission by her doctors to spar. And while she didn't want to bother you to train with her, Naruto and Sasuke wouldn't be as much fun. They didn't know the tricks and techniques that she'd learned in the four years that she'd been gone, and they'd have to take time to get used to her new fighting style. That morning, she found herself itching for a challenge.
Your room was only one door down from hers, and she hadn't pondered much on the habitual silence coming from it day after day since you'd returned. She knew that you were light on your feet, but around her you weren't as careful. You'd never felt the need to hide your presence from her. She helped you get used to the idea that you were allowed to take up space. That you didn't need to conceal your presence like a ghost everywhere you went.
When she opened the door and peaked into your room, she was only slightly concerned to find it empty. In fact, it looked untouched. She didn't even see your small bag of clothes next to the bed where you usually kept it.
Were you out? No, you wouldn't have left without telling her. Maybe you were already in the gym? Did you go for a run? Were you making breakfast? It was five in the morning, no one was up yet and the compound was silent. She could hear her own footsteps echoing in the hallway; she would've heard you if you were wandering around.
She didn't start worrying until she had stopped in all of the main rooms of the compound and found them vacant.
It wasn't like you to disappear without a word. You knew how worried she'd get if you left without telling her, so she was confident that if you had left of your own volition, she would've been the first to know. That left one option: you had been taken. Maybe HYDRA had taken you, or SHIELD had found out that you were staying here.
In her panic, she realized that she needed to tell Kakashi-sensei that you had disappeared. While there were quite a few plausible explanations for your absence, all of them seemed less likely than the worst-case scenarios. Sakura wasn't used to not knowing where you were, and it was making her panic grow by the second.
She sprinted down the hall, mind racing through possible explanations faster than she could keep up with them, and her panic had grown enough by the time she reached Kakashi's room that she disregarded any need for privacy.
"Kakashi-sensei," she gasped as she opened his door, swinging it against the wall with a bang, "I can't find..."
Oh.
"Uh..."
What? What?
You were...in Kakashi-sensei's room. You were in Kakashi-sensei's bed. Kakashi-sensei was in the shower and the door was shut, and you were sitting under his covers like you had slept there. Had you slept there? What was going on?
Sakura felt like she had fallen into an alternate universe.
You were staring at Sakura like she was a ghost. In fact, she wasn't sure she had ever seen that expression on your face before. She had seen worry and fear, but never this mix of shock and embarrassment. She wished she had a camera.
"What are you doing here?" you said through grit teeth after a long silence. You glanced between Sakura standing shocked in the hallway and the closed bathroom door where the shower was still running.
"What am I doing here?" Sakura let out a disbelieving laugh, "what are you doing here? Does Kakashi-sensei know that you're in his room?"
"Wha-of course he does! It's not what you think, nothing is going on, but you need to leave! You can't just walk into people's rooms!" you said. You looked like you were aging years in the seconds that Sakura was standing in the doorway. You glanced back with a groan when the shower cut off, "Go, go, we'll talk later."
You stood from the bed and practically tackled her through the door. She stumbled back with a disbelieving laugh, a mix of shock and glee on her face.
"We will talk about this later," you repeated calmly, though you still looked mortified, "Just...go back to sleep or something. Do not tell the others."
The door slammed before she could say anything else, and it took her about a minute to move from in front of it. Her paralysis lasted until she heard you shuffle back to bed, and it reminded her that you weren't only sleeping in Kakashi-sensei's room, you were sleeping in his bed. She still hadn't quite recovered from the shock, and processing what she had just seen seemed like a monumental task. How had she not noticed?
Sakura nearly sprinted away from the room, rushing down the hall and opening Naruto's door in the same abrupt fashion as she had Kakashi-sensei's.
"Naruto," Sakura whispered, hoping that you hadn't hear her scampering away from Kakashi-sensei's room, "Naruto! Wake up!"
"Huh...wha-? Sakura, wha's goin' on?"
Naruto's face was pressed into his pillow, and he looked like he had no intention of getting up despite Sakura's urgent tone.
"Naruto, come on," she grinned, shaking the boy, "Y/N is in Kakashi-sensei's room."
Naruto shot up at her words, fully awake and staring at her with wide eyes. She nodded when he gave her a disbelieving laugh, grin growing wider.
"No way," he laughed again, and Sakura slapped a hand over his mouth when he opened it again.
"She'll hear you, dummy! We have to be quiet!"
Naruto looked at her wide-eyed, nodding against her hand and waiting patiently for her to deem him ready to be released.
Sasuke's room was a bit more intimidating than Naruto's, and Sakura found herself calming enough to knock quietly at his door. He opened it a moment later, rubbing his eyes and glaring at Sakura and Naruto tiredly.
"It's five in the morning," he grumbled, then perked up, "is something wrong?"
"No," Sakura shook her head at the same time that Naruto gleefully said, "yes!"
Sasuke looked unimpressed.
"Y/N is in Kakashi-sensei's room!"
While Kakashi-sensei had trained his charges extensively in stealth, they seemed to forget all of their lessons as they stumbled down the hall to his room. Naruto couldn't stop giggling as he raced down the hall, and Sasuke looked more shocked that Sakura had ever seen him.
This was new and very exciting territory. Kakashi-sensei had never had a...
A what? A girlfriend? The idea of you being someone's girlfriend felt wrong to Sakura; it was so...normal.
"What do we do?" Naruto whispered, backing away from Kakashi's door like it was a wild animal.
"There's no way this is happening," Sasuke whispered, head in his hands and voice very distressed, "what is going on?"
"This is weird, right?" Naruto whispered nervously, "I mean, we're just...sitting outside of his room."
"We need answers!" Sakura grinned. "This has never happened before. I mean, Kakashi-sensei? No one ever sleeps in his room with him!"
When had this happened? She was wracking her brain to create a timeline of events, but she was coming up empty. Maybe something had changed on the mission.
That would be so romantic.
Footsteps sounded on the other side of the door, and she heard you mumbling something to Kakashi as you approached.
"Hide!" Sakura whispered, though not as quietly as she would've liked. All three of them stumbled to their feet, and Sakura groaned at their luck when Naruto tripped over Sasuke and took both of them down. She grabbed them by the back of their shirts and tried dragging them to their feet and out of sight, but the door clicked open before she could begin moving them at all.
"Jesus," you gasped, backing away from the three with a hand over your chest. Sakura supposed they probably looked like a comedy skit, all tangled up on the floor and looking at you like deer in headlights.
"What?" Kakashi said from out of sight. When he appeared, Sakura almost laughed.
He was wearing a fluffy grey robe that was tied tightly around his waist. His hair was dripping from the shower, and he was maskless.
"No way," Sasuke muttered again, followed by a delighted laugh from Naruto.
There was a long moment when the five of you just stared at one another. Then Kakashi nudged you out of the way, grabbed the door, and slammed it shut.
"What are you doing?" you hissed at him. He was red to the tops of his ears, and he was looking just about anywhere to avoid meeting your eyes. "Now they'll be even more suspicious!"
"I was caught off guard!" he whispered back, voice low enough that the kids would only be able to hear if they were pressed against door. The thought had you glancing at the shadows under the crack of the wood. You narrowed your eyes and kicked it.
"Ow," Naruto shouted, followed by two identical shushes from Sasuke and Sakura. You scowled.
"I'm never going to have a day of peace again," Kakashi grumbled, "they'll never let me live this down."
"Maybe because you slammed the door in their faces. You look like a teenager who was caught by their parents."
"I've never had to deal with this before!" he threw his hands in the air, "even if it's just for nightmares, they'll be insufferable. All of the questions..."
His face fell into lethargic horror at the thought.
"Don't be dramatic," you huffed. You opened the door in one swing and glared down at the three brats falling at your feet. Sakura met your glare with an innocent smile.
"Good morning," she smiled. You glared harder, "it's lovely out today. Wanna go on a walk?"
"No," you grumbled, "I want peace."
"We want answer-mmhp," Naruto shouted over Sakura shoulder, cut off by her hand blindly slapping backwards and landing over his mouth. She held it there and gave you another innocent smile.
"Listen, all three of you. I will say this one time and one time only."
The kids all froze, and you even noticed Kakashi stop in his tracks to look at you.
"I have nightmares, and being next to someone at night helps. That's all."
"Aw man," Naruto grumbled, turning towards Sasuke, "we thought Kakashi-sensei had a girlfriend."
"Hey," Kakashi stuck his head through the door, now fully dressed and slightly less red than before, "all of you go run three miles."
"Wha–, sensei," Sakura groaned, "what were we supposed to think? You were practically naked–"
"Four miles."
"But–"
"Five."
"Fine, fine, geez."
Naruto and Sakura sulked towards the gym, but Sasuke paused and gave you a long glance. It didn't hold any of his previous coldness; now it was just curiosity that lingered in his gaze. Once he was apparently satisfied with his observation, he glanced at Kakashi and tilted his head, then turned and followed Sakura and Naruto down the hall.
"Good morning," you muttered to a wide-eyed Kakashi. He looked like he had gone into overdrive, and you imagined he was picturing the horrors that would come that day as a result of this incident. Five miles wouldn't do much good to deter them from being insufferable.
"Right," Kakashi sighed, "great morning. Once I leave this room, I'll live the rest of my life being tortured."
"Oh, please," you waved his concerns away, "how bad could they be?"
"You clearly haven't spent enough time with all three of them together," Kakashi mumbled, "they feed off of one another. They're evil."
"Dramatic," you repeated, glaring pointedly at the mask that he was pulling over his nose. He shrugged.
When you left Kakashi's room, it didn't take long for you to run into Naruto. He was standing in the doorway that led into the gym, watching Sakura and Sasuke spar disinterestedly. When he saw you next to him, he perked up. It was the first time you'd ever gotten such an enthused reaction from the boy.
"Hey," he looked behind you, presumably for Kakashi, "can I, uh...talk to you?"
Interesting, but not as weird as it would have been if he hadn't just discovered you sleeping in his guardian's room. You leaned against the opposite side of the doorframe and tried to look as open and safe as possible.
"I thought you were supposed to be running?" you asked.
"Nah, Kakashi-sensei's never serious about that stuff," Naruto laughed, and you couldn't help a small smile. Kakashi really was like a father to them, and you desperately hoped Naruto didn't see you and this newfound closeness as a threat to him.
"I just wanted to...ask what your intentions are, I guess? With Kakashi-sensei."
You almost laughed at the question, but Naruto looked dead serious. You glanced at Sakura and Sasuke and saw that they hadn't stopped sparring to look at you and Naruto. So this conversation was likely happening independent of their input.
"I don't have any intentions," you said simply, "what I told you is all there is. It's a mutually beneficial arrangement, that's all."
Naruto didn't look convinced, but he moved on quickly.
"We didn't exactly meet on great terms, but I know from what Sakura's told me and from what I've seen that you're a good person. It's just that...Kakashi-sensei doesn't have that many people that he relies on. He has friends, sure, but they're more like...coworkers. He goes on missions with them, so he always feels like he has a responsibility to keep them safe. He doesn't really let his guard down much. I don't know why, but he doesn't act that way with you."
You weren't sure how you felt about being told that you were unique in someone's eyes. For most of your life, you were simply a cog in a machine. There was nothing about you that differed from your fellow Widows. You were basically a copy of the girls who came before.
"He lets his guard down around you. And he does that with us too, but he's our guardian. I think your presence is like...a reassurance that he can unwind without worrying that someone will get hurt. He's always looking out for us, never letting himself rest, so maybe you can take some of that weight off of him. Keep him from taking on too much."
"I think you're overestimating how much he trusts me."
"No," Naruto smiled, and you tried to reconcile the boy standing in front of you giving you rather wise advice with the one who had come poking around your cell when you first met, "he does. I think it makes him nervous how much he does."
"How can you tell?"
"Dunno," Naruto shrugged, "but we spend every day with him. We notice when things have changed. And all three of us have noticed it. He's more relaxed."
Did he seem more relaxed? You supposed that you hadn't known him before, so you didn't have anything to compare it to, but it was hard to imagine Kakashi being even more vigilant than he already was. You wondered just how much stress he was under on a day-to-day basis.
"Please don't leave," Naruto muttered. Your eyes widened, and you had to stop yourself from letting out a shocked laugh, "if you do, it won't just hurt Sakura. It'll hurt him too. I don't think he even realizes that, but it will. And none of us want to see that happen."
"I don't think–"
"It's true."
"Shit–" you jumped away from Sasuke, who had somehow managed to stand behind you and listen in on the conversation without you noticing, "again? Seriously, this shouldn't keep happening. I'm supposed to be a spy."
"Maybe you're distracted because you're talking about Kakashi-sensei," Sakura said with a sly smile. You narrowed your eyes at her.
"Why would I be distracted?"
"Oh, no reason," she shrugged, taking Naruto and Sasuke by the arms and dragging them back to the middle of the gym, "no reason at all."
Distracted. You weren't easily distracted, and Kakashi was low on the list of people who could throw you off balance. Orochimaru and Kabuto were distracting. Kakashi was just Kakashi. He didn't stop you from breathing. He sometimes made it easier.
That wasn't distraction.
You pushed Sakura's irritatingly cryptic words aside and joined Sasuke next to the mats, watching Naruto have a significant amount of trouble taking Sakura down. Both were laughing, and even Sasuke had a fond smile on his face as he studied the match. You noticed that he was paying more attention to Sakura than Naruto, eyes focused on her footwork as she side-stepped her opponent's attack and knocked him to the ground.
"How come," Naruto panted, stretching out the shoulder that he'd landed on when he fell, "I can't keep up with you anymore? It's not fair."
"How do you think I feel? I miss having sparring partners who can actually put up a fight"
"Hey!"
"Kidding, kidding," Sakura laughed, turning away from a sputtering Naruto. "Oh. good morning, Kakashi-sensei. Sleep well?"
"I slept fine, thank you for asking, Sakura," Kakashi spoke smoothly, no trace of his previous embarrassment in his voice, "and you?"
"Oh, it was a bit lonely," she shrugged, "but I suppose you wouldn't understand that problem."
Sasuke snickered, then became conveniently enraptured by the opposite wall when you glared at him.
"Hey, Kakashi-sensei could take you down!" Naruto told Sakura, pointing at the man excitedly.
"Of course he could," Sakura scoffed, "I didn't train that hard."
She glanced at you, and in some sudden revelation, her eyes widened and she jumped off of the mats. You let her hurriedly push you onto them in her place with just a bit of resistance and a dead expression on your face.
"Spar Kakashi-sensei!"
You gave her a flat look, wholly uninterested in sparring at the moment. You needed breakfast. You were also in the middle of a good part of Icha-Icha, but you'd been too tired last night to keep reading. You'd been looking forward to returning to it all morning.
"I'm tired."
"No, you're not. You slept great."
"You're such a little shit," you grumbled, glaring at her, then at Naruto and Sasuke with equal amounts of contempt, "all of you."
Naruto was grinning and trying to pull an equally as inconvenienced-looking Kakashi onto the mats with you.
"Don't you three want food? I know none of you can cook."
"Cook after!"
"Maybe I won't want to after."
"We'll go out."
All three were watching you and Kakashi eagerly. Sakura looked conflicted, like she was trying to decide who she should place her bets on.
"Did you three finish your five miles?"
"Of course we did!"
"Pretty quick for a couple of short stacks."
"Hey!"
You snickered, ignoring Sakura's glare.
"Fine," Kakashi said, meeting your unimpressed stare with a smile, "but I expect you to observe carefully. You'll be seeing two different fighting styles, so pay close attention to the strengths and weaknesses of both."
"Kakashi-sensei," Naruto groaned, "why does everything have to be training?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, Naruto," Kakashi turned his smile from you to the sulking boy, "would you prefer to write me an essay on this instead?"
"No! Not at all, I'll watch very diligently."
"Good," Kakashi nodded, then turned to you, "well, this feels familiar."
"Right," you scoffed, "because last time was just so much fun."
Sakura was looking between you and Kakashi with wide eyes, and you didn't want to imagine what kinds of assumptions she was making about your comment. You ignored her questioning gaze and steadied yourself in front of your opponent, hands raised in a defensive position.
Kakashi still had his hands in his pockets, and in the split second that you wondered if you should attack first, he was gone.
He's quick, you thought with a scowl, though not quick enough that you couldn't detect his presence behind you. You stepped forward just as his leg attempted to kick yours from under you, and you barely missed getting thrown to the ground as you spun towards him.
You heard a mix of shouts from the kids, and most of them were encouragements for Kakashi as you continuously sidestepped his attacks.
But he was the only one attacking. You were just trying to keep up.
He had you cornered, and you let out a frustrated grunt when you felt your foot hit the edge of the mat. Kakashi barely paused, so you settled on a rather crude attack and leapt at him, grabbing him around the waist and pulling him to the ground.
He landed on his back with a surprised grunt, though it didn't take him long to recover. This time, though, you had the upper hand on him. Your attacks were swifter, but they had less power behind them. One technique that was encouraged in the Red Room was to tire an opponent out with fast attacks until they couldn't counter one with increased strength. It was especially useful for stronger opponents like Kakashi, who used more raw strength in his offense.
The match continued for far longer than you would've liked. You'd thought that you'd have an easier time beating him, but you wondered if he would actually manage to take you down. You were on fairly even footing in terms of skill, you'd known that from the beginning, but you knew enough tricks that you thought you'd have the edge on him.
It seemed you'd underestimated his strategies. It must've been a lingering feeling of superiority over SHIELD that rubbed off on you from Orochimaru.
You were even more surprised when, in your momentary distraction, Kakashi reused his move from the beginning of the fight and swept your legs out from under you. You landed with an oof on the mat, head knocking against it and arm aching where your gunshot wound had almost finished healing. You probably shouldn't have been sparring, but curiosity about Kakashi's skill in close combat took precedent over concern for your still-healing injuries.
"If I hadn't gotten shot," you panted, looking up at Kakashi's pleased expression, "I would've won."
"Of course you would've," he said jovially, mood apparently lifted by his victory. He held out a hand, and you took it begrudgingly, allowing him to haul you to your feet.
You narrowed your eyes at the hushed voices behind you and glanced back at Sakura, who was whispering something in Naruto's ear that made him grin and giggle.
"Did you learn anything useful?" you ruffled her hair, pushing her head to the side playfully and sidestepping her when she tried to shove you.
"Oh, sure," she laughed, "lots of things."
Naruto laughed again, and even Sasuke cracked a small smile.
"You guys are weird," you huffed, stretching your arms above your head and following Kakashi out of the gym.
Tumblr media
Later that night, after you'd successfully finished your Icha-Icha volume and ranted about it extensively to an amused Kakashi, you were pulled into Sakura's room hastily and rather aggressively on your way back to the gym. You stumbled inside on ungraceful feet, tripping over them as you tried to catch yourself. Sakura offered no help; she glanced out into the hall once you were inside, then closed the door quietly behind her.
"You know, you could've just asked if you wanted me in here."
She shrugged, then leapt into her bed and patted the spot next to her in invitation.
"Can I ask you something?" she said once you had settled in on the empty side. You hummed your assent, sitting up and giving her your full attention when you saw how serious her expression looked.
"Are you...happy here?"
The hope in her eyes was so clear that you had to look away. She wanted you to say yes more than anything, but it wasn't that simple. happiness was never that simple, especially when you had never really thought about your own happiness at any point in your life. It had never been enough of a priority.
Now that you thought about it, you weren't even sure what it meant to be happy. How were you supposed to tell? How could you even give her a truthful answer without knowing it for yourself?
"I...don't know," you told her honestly. Her hopeful expression didn't fade, and she nodded like she had been expecting that answer. "I'm comfortable. I feel safe here."
She smiled, and you couldn't help but mirror it. You hadn't realized how much you missed spending time with Sakura; it had been a while since you'd been able to sit down and talk like this, just the two of you. You realized somberly that it was the first time you'd been able to do it outside of the Red Room.
"You're smiling a lot more," she told you happily. You looked at her, brows furrowed. Had you smiled more? You didn't feel all that different, but you supposed that the person you'd been when you escaped with her was a far cry from who you were becoming. It hadn't even been long, and she already saw that much change?
But now that you thought about it, you saw the change too. Your nightmares were becoming more infrequent, and you no longer felt the constant pull of the Red Room and of Orochimaru's promises. They appeared to you as a distant memory; a thing of the past.
You tried to remember when you'd stopped assuming that you would eventually go back. When you'd accepted that you were no longer a Widow.
You wondered when you had become okay with that fact.
"I'm so happy," Sakura laughed, silent tears rolling down her cheeks, "none of it even feels real."
"What do you mean?"
"This," she motioned towards you vaguely, then towards the door where you could hear Naruto and Sasuke talking to Kakashi from the lounge, "you being here. Everyone being safe. For the first time in almost five years, I'm surrounded by people I care about. And you're smiling so much, I just..."
Her words were becoming more strained, like she was trying to keep herself from bursting into tears. You reached towards her on instinct, and she was quick to lean into you and wrap her arms around your waist. She was crying quietly into your chest, gripping your shirt and muffling the sounds of her cries in the fabric. You buried a hand in her hair and tucked her head under your chin in a familiar set of movements.
"I'm so happy," she cried quietly, pulling you closer and sniffling. You rubbed her back, unsure of how to respond. You felt something swell in your chest; this was the first time that Sakura had cried in your arms because of something good happening. The last time she'd done it, it was because you were leaving. You had been reassigned after your mission together, and her terrified cries often haunted your nightmares.
"I...I think I'm happy," you whispered. She paused; it almost felt like her breathing had stopped. "and I want to stay. I am staying. If...if you and the others will have me."
"Of course," she laughed, though it sounded more like a sob as she tackled you to the bed. You chuckled, wrapping your arms around her and relishing in the lightness in your chest. It was such a new feeling. It was freeing. Maybe that was what happiness felt like.
If it was, it was something that you wanted to get used to.

which ones drink water as if its the best thing in the world ? i imagine that sakura drinks it as if she hasnt had water in days even tho she just drank some 20 mins ago
gai n rock lee as well, but with less ferocity as sakura
Naruto chugs water with a two-handed toddler grasp on the bottle, each and every time. This is probably because he waits until he's insanely dehydrated before he even thinks to do something about it.
Sakura is indeed gulping that sweet, sweet ambrosia Konoha tap water.
Not only do Might Guy and Rock Lee funnel water like they're in frat boy drinking competitions, they also get weekly IV infusions of electrolytes like the wealthy do to avoid hangovers. They aren't hungover, though. They're just looking to be extra hydrated.
Hashirama would enter the river that he and Madara became friends at and just swim with his mouth wide open so he could take in as much water as possible at once, like a whale feeding on krill.
Obito used to take these insane gasping gulps of water in his youth that would piss Kakashi off like nothing else.
Hidan walks around with one of those plastic gallons of water for easy, obnoxious hydration.
Also, to note, on the opposite end: Sasuke and most other Uchihas, Kabuto, and also Jiraiya are crusty and desperately dehydrated.

Well I need itachi hcs, right now. so how would he be in a relationship and what would his type be? So what does his girl have to have (can go on looks and character). If you don't accept it, that's fine, i still love you<3
itachi general headcanons
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[🗼] itachi bb he has so much boyfriend material this wasn't enough
characters: itachi uchiha
genre: sfw
warnings: none, weird crow boy things; fem!reader
Tumblr media
.
.
.
-itachi my little meow meow. he is such a weird little guy hahah I love him so much
-the other day I was thinking why I like him so much, and I came to the conclusion that apart from his godly looks, he is such a kind and gentle person, always thinking of everyone, considering other people's feelings, and that his ultimate dream was being a malewife pfff that says a lot about him
-ok itachi observes everyone, literally no one goes unnoticed by him, but after he sees them, he doesn't pay too much attention to them anymore
-so a way to catch itachi's eye is by being somewhat different, having something that makes you stand out from the crowd. say you have a nice hair color, or you have a weird talent, or you are versatile lol
-but something that is even canon is that you have to talk to him, like my boy won't talk to you unless it's super necessary but otherwise he prefers not interacting with people lmaoo
-literally the reason shisui and itachi are besties is because shisui talked to him, like I imagine itachi not having any friends if shisui didn't approach him aaay no bby
-itachi appreciates someone who is a little more extrovert than him, he sometimes believes that opposites attract so he doesn't mind when he is with a more outgoing person
-he wouldn't settle for a naruto type of partner however, like he appreciates the extravagance but please stop you are overwhelming him,,,,
-so imagine you talked to him first and you and him slowly became friends, and soon lovers. because let's be honest, boy is popular with girls, but he won't even talk to a fly so he loves to death his little circle of friends, which includes you
-itachi enjoys your outgoing presence, I think he would like someone who has a sense of humor, deep down he does like some jokes, and also someone who has their feet on the ground; someone who cherishes peace–because that's his whole character at the end of the day–; and someone with realistic goals that would not only benefit them, but also other people,,, he is selfless, we have to recognize that
-i don't really think itachi would have body preferences on his girl, as long as you are taking care of yourself. let's remember that boy was always over his baby brother to make sure that he was okay, the last thing he wants for you is to stop taking care of yourself,,,
-if he senses any downfall, my boy will rush in to be there with you, making you food and even controlling your schedule so you can rest and get well <3
-he does enjoy taking care of you–that's in his nature–, but of course it would make him happier and prouder to see you loving you and looking after yourself
-BUT if he had the chance to be a little picky,, I think he is such a tits guy, like he really loves titties, he don't care if they are small or huge, boy just wants to hold some boobi
-and idk why but I also feel he would prefer a girl shorter than him, it could be that protective sense acting up,, but he feels he can protect you best if you are a little smaller than him
-however, itachi doesn't care entirely on your body–almost nothing I would dare to say–, but how you are and act is something important to him
-we know that itachi believes in not judging on people right away, so he would take his sweet time meeting you deeply so he can decipher what kind of person you are. but if from the beginning you act hostile and lie not only to others, but to yourself, then that's a bye from him, itachi can't stand people who don't recognize themselves [kabuto pfff]
-itachi doesn't believe in perfectness, so he doesn't seek that either on himself and on other people. he would accept you with your flaws and all, and if you can touch this man's heart once, he is yours forever <3
-itachi is such a patient, gentle, and selfless lover, always seeking your peace and comfort first
-he is such a gentleman agh im getting sick,,, the type of guy to open all the doors for you, pull your chair, carry your things. in a modern setup, he would always pull the car door for you, waiting for you to settle down and then closing it after; if you are walking on a sidewalk, he would pull you to the other side so he is on the side of the road aaaaa marry me
-the type of boyfriend to always give you a flower, like during your honeymoon phase, he always gifted you bouquets of your fav flowers, but then he didn't do as excessive but continued giving you a single rose or such mmm aaa
-he is the sweetest boyfriend there is, ok prepare for more hcs because he has such husband material stapp
-the kind of boyfriend to wear on his wrist one of your hair bands AYAY like he does it so nonchalantly it’s so hot mmm
-itachi is very supportive of your goals and activities, as long as they aren't potentially harmful. he will always voice his worries if he senses the sightliest of dangers, of course he is realistic all the time
-he enjoys so much seeing you perform those activities, he is so smitten looking at you all happy with yourself
-selfless king, if you are not feeling 100 one day, do not worry, your boyfriend itachi is there to make you all your meals, read to you, message your feet if you want, cuddle with you ayyy no I can't
-always watching over you, either if you are a ninja or not, he will always have a selected crow with you. you may have already noticed this and you even named the little crow
-when assigned to long missions away from the village, he has shisui looking for you at least three times a week. shisui reports to itachi with crows ahah weird guys
-best cooker because uhh duh itachi is good at everything. if you ask for something, he will do it for you and only you. he has a sweet tooth and if you do too, ay ay he found his soulmate
-he doesn't really like pda, all his touches and kisses are done inside privately with you only. when in crowded areas, he keeps his hand on the small of your back, or he might as well hold your hands. there aren't kisses, not even pecks sorry but baby is shy ok !! understand him plsss
-ohh but when you are in your house, or his, mmm itachi is all in and accepts all. he loves so much your cuddles and kisses, they brighten up his days always
-itachi gets so flustered from make out sessions at the beginning of your relationship it's so cute,,, he can't just keep up with you, he feels so hot he can't continue
-but after some time, he gets used to them and it is you now who is left breathless. WHICH happens often, because itachi is such a gentle yet rough kisser, pecking your lips so softly but also nibbling on your tongue and tasting the insides of your mouth with his own
-itachi also loves touching you, this part comes along with the kissing one because at the beginning he is also shy to even brush your hands, but thennn,,,, he loves putting his large hands on your waist and thighs
-and as I said, itachi loves holding your titties, especially when cuddling. he prefers putting his head on your breasts while you massage his scalp
-itachi is so touch starved. his love language is acts of service, but ohh he would melt with someone whose love language is physical affection
-when going out, itachi is such a young gentleman. helping you with your dress, your jewelry, and if you trust him that much, with your hair too. always kissing you–making out– right before going out, leaving you so hot and steamy gosh he knows damn well what he is doing I hate you itavhi please kiss me
-beautiful boyfriend. if being the prettiest man alive wasn't enough, being the best partner is

Kabuto have a long and extensive fossil record, dating its development and evolution throughout prehistory. One of the most amazing variations among Kabuto is the eyes, which have a great many variations and changes.
The earliest Kabuto fossils revealed crescent-shaped lenses. These lenses allowed it a spectacular range, allowing it to scan its surroundings at nearly 360 degrees around it. These lenses lasted about 50 million years.
The variations afterward are of an astounding volume. Some Kabuto were found with eyestalks! These fossils were not complete enough to be revived reliably, but a handful of revived eyestalk Kabuto are owned by researchers. Eyestalks give it a better field of view, extending its sight outside of its shell. This gives Kabuto a better view above it. Eyestalks also meant Kabuto could bury themselves under the sand and still have full view of the ocean around it.
The standard Kabuto revived from fossils are all but standard. These Kabuto have some of the most advanced optics of any Pokemon, living or extinct! Many, many lenses are stacked on each other, ranging from 10 to an impressive 50. This gives Kabuto a particularly vivid view, one that humans can not even properly percieve! Kabuto with stacked lenses see the world in excessive detail and in a vibrant array of colors.
The later fossils show two distinct types of eyes. These reflect the environment Kabuto live in, either the deepest depths of the ocean or on the shallow shores.
For the Kabuto in shallow waters, their eyes developed a stack of over 200 individual lenses. That is an insane amount of detail for such a little guy!
In the complete opposite spectrum, Kabuto living in the deep sea lost nearly all of their lenses. They were practically blind! Their eyes also got much smaller as a result, as they had little need for strong vision.

I think canon did the Yamanaka, and thus Ino, dirty by necessity tbh. I don't like it, but also the show is mostly focused on front line combat and training for it. Which is the opposite of Yamanaka strengths, as a clan focused on spying, interrogation, conversion, and (in more gritty/dark fanon) seduction and subtle poison. If a Yamanaka is in a position where their skill is compared to a front line assault ninja, they've already failed, yknow? Their targets shouldn't even comprehend they're near a ninja. And I get why the show didn't focus on that, it was NARUTO Shippuden not INO Shippuden. But on that basis alone it's an unfair and futile comparison to set Ino up as Sakura's long term rival. If anyone it should've been Shizune, or more realistically Kabuto (and she ISNT Kabuto's equal, imo)
Hi there, I’m not at the moment replying asks and this might be unfair to some people that send me questions that I haven’t replied before (apologies), but I wanted to tackle this specific subject (Ino), as I don’t get that many asks about her.
I apologize, but I have to disagree with you, not on the fact that two-thirds of Team 7 focuses on frontal attacks (Naruto and Sakura -Sasuke, as Uchiha and a prodigy who also knows kenjutsu, can tackle pretty much any range of attack), and as the team with the most panel time they get pretty much highlighted throw out the series. Still, this manner of attack isn’t the story's primary focus.
The story in itself is about political warfare and the overall cruelties of the system, Sasuke -as an antagonist, it’s the main plot driver of the show (as are Obito, Nagato, and Orochimaru), and the main character that the narrative establishes as “the good ones” are reactors rather than causers.
Once this is established, I do agree that the show focuses mostly on front-line attacks as those are the ones the main duo (and some other fan favorites) possess, however, this manner of combat isn’t as relevant in the overall structure: Itachi and Nagato, for instance, rely on either genjutsu or upon their rinnegan and vast amount of chakra to control other people and perform their binding. Deidara fought against Sasuke while putting distance between them through his secret technique, and so on.
The relevance of such a style of combat is well established during the Chünin Exams: this type of approach is the most “spectacle-friendly” as it allows viewers to witness true carnage and visible consequences, cementing before the audience the overall military power of a village or a character –which is similar, if not equal, of how a shönen works for its audience.
However, it’s constantly highlighted, albeit secretly (as this portion of the tests isn’t shown to the rest of the civilian population as it lacks the “thrill” that combats possess and I’ll say some readers skipped it as they, too, liked to see displayed raw physical power, as that’s how most mainstream heroes are depicted, not having to think around their power shall it be more complicated than a powerful punch); the relevance of Information gathering skills, having an entire test dedicated to it: such exam, Sakura failed, as she never realized what the test was actually for. Ino-Shika-Chö passes it because Ino was the only one out of the three of them shown to have understood it and has the perfect technique for it, here.
Tumblr media
There are, however, other mentions of such specialty relevance during the second stage as well, here and here –of course, this specific portion of the “information gathering” skills are to be more rudimentary as they’re more focused upon the shinobi’s survival rather than sharpening their spy qualities, but they are necessary to guarantee the success of a mission.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obito specifically targeted the Intelligence Division where Inoichi and Shukaku were to guarantee his success as they worked quickly with the information they received of the battlefield to send specific teams to different locations to warrant the enemy’s defeat (like when they sent Team 10 to support Kumo and fight the Gold and Silver Brothers, or how they also asked them to defeat Asuma); Hashirama specifically asked for a Yamanaka to spread amongst the shinobi forces the information he had and Shikamaru’s strategy.
Sasuke and Naruto (or even Hashirama and Madara), are people whose strength isn’t the usual norm, as they’re particularly strong even amongst those considered “the strongest” in the military population (Kages), so them not having to rely on prior information to win a battle (despite them coming up with strategies all the time upon seeing how their enemies work –something Sakura isn’t shown doing, as she either relies on other people (Chiyo) or fails, as she did against Dosu) it’s an off the norm occurrence, only to be applied to them.
People's preference around which techniques are best or more "spectacle-friendly" -something necessary for a manga that relies on visual story-telling, doesn't dispute the overall value of Yamanaka clan's techniques inside the plot and structure Kishimoto established (they, after the UCM, became the clan with the most information-gathering relevance, as they were the only non-Sharingan users that could control their target and read their mind, and while the Saiko Denshin it's a T&I jutsu and not a Yamanaka one, it's clear by Ino's recollection of it that it's at least taught at its most basic form).
If a Yamanaka is in a position where their skill is compared to a front line assault ninja, they've already failed, yknow? Their targets shouldn't even comprehend they're near a ninja. And I get why the show didn't focus on that, it was NARUTO Shippuden not INO Shippuden.
I agree that Ino isn’t a specialized combater, although she did fight Asuma while controlling two Zetsu (I speak a little about the possibility of it being a technique she came up with here), so her taijutsu is -at least, better than Shikamaru’s who stood back as support; her family’s technique and her medical training taught her to stay out of conflict (as she did when vs. Hidan and Kakuzu) in order to be able to attend those wounded (the only ones able to fight are those that mastered Mitrocondrial Regeneration, as they are able to heal without using signs and have more chakra to spare since they stored it, x and x), as medics are also main targets during combats (x).
Tumblr media
[If you are more interested in Medical skills, here’s a little post about it: x]
However, I’ll say that, as a secondary character, she got more panel time and development than many other characters who were pushed aside shortly after their introduction (Hinata, Kiba, Shino, Kurenai -to name some of Konoha’s). She was able to help discern, albeit with her father and an ANBU, Nagato’s location when sharing information about her mind-body switch control, she also realized one of the Paths used a similar technique to Inoichi’s (Saiko Denshin) and was given a few very powerful moments during the war, which is more than other fandoms were given.
But on that basis alone it's an unfair and futile comparison to set Ino up as Sakura's long term rival. If anyone it should've been Shizune, or more realistically Kabuto (and she ISNT Kabuto's equal, imo)
Do you mean, unfair for Ino to be Sakura's rival or the other way around? Kabuto is a far better medic than any of them, and Sakura, while impressive, didn’t surpass Tsunade at this stage –as she improved not Tsunade’s techniques, being solely able to master them prior in age to her mentor as Tsunade created them and had to experiment with her own body in order to use it and teach it afterward. Kabuto invented his own version of Mitochondrial Regeneration (x), which is the reason why Orochimaru chose him. He’s the only one who Tsunade considers surpassed her during her prime (x, x).
Tumblr media
Sakura and Ino’s rivalry has less to do with their overall techniques and more to do with their attraction to Sasuke, which is the main focus Sakura puts upon their rivalry. Asuma claimed during his last speech to Ino that she mustn't lose either Ninjutsu or love, but the bars they both have about their techniques are completely different –Sakura, medical-wise, possesses a natural advantage that Ino doesn’t, which is natural delicate chakra control, something inherently necessary to learn the Yin Seal; while Ino’s medical skills (likely taught to her through Shizune), are rudimentary at best in order to do something else for her team while on a mission that doesn’t require her technique, in order to guarantee her safety.
Now, you might wonder, why does she have to be safe? Canonically speaking, besides collecting information, the team must guarantee at least one survivor who can pass on the knowledge (or, at least, a way to communicate the information). No other team is expected to ensure such a thing (x).
Tumblr media
In that sense, Team 7, Team 8, and Team Gai are mostly viewed as expendable** (I am aware that all of the soldiers are viewed in such light, I’m specifically referring to such an idea when already inside that “disposable spectrum”). Only those front-lines combateurs that have techniques with enough power to defy even shinobi standards (Naruto, Hashirama, Tobirama, and some others –and I’m not putting Uchiha there as they are able to cover multiple ranges), are highlighted and rewarded with the Hokage title, the rest are sent to die or to distract the enemy in order to open space for teams more specialized in gathering the enemy’s secrets or strategies.
[Minato, also considered amongst the best, relied on other front-liners to plant his special kunais upon his targets and to take care of a big portion of the enemies, as he killed the rest. Saving the small group of survivors.]
Being rivals has nothing to do with having similar techniques, but either opposed goals (Sasuke vs. Naruto) or the same goal (Sasuke’s love reciprocation when it comes to Sakura and Ino).
Inside the manga itself, the notion of rivalry is shown to be deeply intertwined with shinobi culture, as they encourage such a mindset so shinobi would push each other to new highs of their respective techniques in order to win their competitions as long as they don’t put Konoha’s stability in jeopardy: Madara/Hashirama, Danzo/Hiruzen, Kakashi/Obito, Naruto/Sasuke, Sakura/Ino.
Tumblr media
[**Sakura, as a front-line fighter, is expendable, as a medic-nin, slightly less, as she is expected to die, if doing so, last of all. Not to return alive, as Team 10].

Usually not much can be said about the character design in Kinnikuman. But in the case of The Man and The One, the contrast between their designs is top-notch. 10/10.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The most obvious contrast is between their attires. The Man was designed to resemble the Ancient Greek god Zeus, and the Greek influence can primarily be seen in the golden laurel wreath that's a part of his helmet and the white toga. The golden helmet, jewelry as well as his cape fittingly give him a regal appearance, as Zeus was regarded to be the king of the gods of Mount Olympus. It overall results in a Western style.
The One on the other hand was specifically designed to have a more threatening aura than even Shogun, and his spiked armor accomplishes just that. His armor resembles those of the samurai and generals of feudal Japan, with his helmet looking nearly identical to the kabuto-type helmet, of which some tended to be adorned with horns. His style comes across as martial and Eastern, accentuated by the war fan he wields.
Partially as a result of their attires, their silhouettes on their own also contrast one another: The Man's form is wider and shorter with rounded edges, The One is a bit slimmer and taller, with his silhouette being edgier due to the spikes and horns sticking out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's also the colors. The Man's palette consists of the saturated primary colors pink, yellow, blue plus white. Meanwhile The One's colors are much paler and desaturated, with only monochromatic shades of red. His bright red eyes are the most saturated part of him, corresponding to The Man's blue ones.
Even their names contrast each other. The God of Harmony giving himself the name "The One" with his descent makes it feel like he's further reinforcing the binary between the two of them when comparing it to The God of Mercy's group-based title "Perfect Zero". The Japanese spelling of their name are only one kana off from each other too, "Za Wan" (ザ・ワン) vs. "Za Man" (ザ・マン).
When you look at the way The One used to look when he was first submitted as Hermoz, it all feels like very deliberate choices. Personally I would've preferred it if they had kept the asymmetrical helmet and horns, but it might have been unbefitting for a choushin design, being perfect beings and all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The dynamic these two have is also great. I hope we get to see these old men bicker some more over the course of the story. They're defined by having opposite views on the matter of choujin: It was The Man who suggested the creation of the choujin race to fill the 108th god seat back in heaven and held up his hope in them, descending in order to save and train them himself, when The One gave up on the choujin almost immediately and lead the group of gods who advocated for their erasure.
This is also reflected in how they see themselves, and by extent the rest of the gods who descended: The One regards himself to be a choushin on the same level as the other gods, but The Man only ever calls himself a choujin, seeing himself as an equal to the mortal choujin, despite both him and The One being ex-gods.
Tumblr media
The Gordian Knot metaphor lays out their differing views the best. The Man patiently attempted to untie the knot with his own hands, making more progress than any of the other gods, but The One chose to simply cut the un-untieable knot in half with his fan. It's similar to how he used the Capillaria Rays as a tool to eradicate the majority of choujin, a bold and drastic solution for their constant infighting that shows his contempt for them. Nowadays, The Man's approach to handling the choujin in the form of directly teaching them over a long course of time is starting to be seen as the right decision, with him believing that choujin have resolved the issue and have grown on their own.
This does not mean that The One's unconventional way of problem-solving is wrong, as his reformation plan to redefine what it means to be a choujin and demote the unqualified to human status in order to equilibrize the universal energy imbalance doesn't feel all that unreasonable considering the direness of the situation. Whether it is his idea or The Man's idea of effectively using the circulatory Friendship Power system that will be realized we'll have to see.
Everything about them is coming together so well and I can't wait to see how their plans for fighting back against the God of Time's forces are going to work out.

she's a busy gal she doesn't have time to shave...
alternatively she doesn't care which is also based
see it's funny cause i see a lot of people in the fandom saying that kabuto doesn't take care of himself very well (i.e. jokes about him not using conditioner and such) and a lot of people saying orochimaru is a self-care queen.
but personally, i feel the opposite is true! kabuto is a doctor - he may be young and inexperienced but he's a doctor nonetheless. he may not have a lot of time to dedicate to a routine but he'd very well do the bare minimum of keeping himself clean and neat. and i think without kabuto looking after him, orochimaru would go days unbathed. orochimaru is the kind of person to be so wrapped up in their work that they don't even notice they're withering away.
"but the shower scene!!" yes, yes but i think anyone would want to wash themselves if their arms were literally rotting off. just imagine the blood and puss and the feeling of bandages on raw skin, not to mention the smell. and really she shouldn't have been showering at that point! getting necrotic parts of the body wet can exacerbate the issue.
anyways,, kabuto absolutely would shave and orochimaru uses 13-in-1

shokudaikiri’s potential motifs // literally, no one asked
it is past the time i should sleep and i am very mentally ill with no self control and i FEEL BAD that i haven’t written anything publicly in forever (to my standards) so have some thoughts i’d yelled at some friends on discord about mitsu’s motifs he can get assigned under the cut:
the more obvious motif for him is fire. he was a sword (one of many) who were burned my the great kanto earthquake, so it's a bit obvious to pair him with fire. however, the other kinds of fire that he can be associated with are cooking fires; he is a very good host after all: "the best form of hospitality is food lovingly prepared by one's own hands". in addition, if you really want to spread the fire/heat metaphor, you could connect him to the sun. he's a host, so he has to nurture a welcoming environment to entertain guests. the sun itself is a bit too celestial, I suppose, if you think on it too hard, but if you consider the sun as a warm and nurturing kind of entity, then you have another motif for mitsu
however, that's not the only celestial object that can be associated with him: the other being the crescent moon. I can hear you cry, "isn't that mikazuki's thing??" which, you're correct, crescent moons are mika's main motif. however, more specifically, mika's crescent moon motif is that of a double crescent, something more ethereal and otherworldly. not a single crescent like I'm proposing.
why moon? because of date masamune's kabuto, actually. he is the sword that took the most strongly after him, and the date sword that was most likely the only one directly owned by masamune, anyways. kara was likely owned by his son, and sada is confirmed to by owned by masamune's son. tsuru didn't arrive in the clan until too late
aside from the historical ties, the moon is usually typecast as something mysterious and not understandable. sure, mitsu wants to be cool. he wants to be remembered. "we toudan exist because of your memories", or something like that. however... doesn't that make him a bit inscrutable? a bit mysterious? After all, he tries to put out some distance from himself and others... warm he may be, he's his own brand of mysterious...
I don't see the moon motif expanded on as strongly, mainly because it almost feels out of place for him... but even so, it's a motif that directly calls to his master that left the most lasting impression on him, but who are we to say the moon motif doesn't belong to him? mikazuki was named after the double crescents on his hamon... but what of the other moon related swords that have tangential ties to it?
also, I never see "one eyed dragon" mitsu played with since kara is always the dragon, but I think that's a shame. if mitsu takes so strongly after masamune, why not also aloow him to have the moniker "the one eyed dragon"?
though, perhaps that's a bit too far in the opposite direction he wants to go. if he takes too strongly after masamune, that's all he'll ever be known as is that better, or worse, than being an unknown sword thanks to the burns along his blade? it's the only thing he has to cling onto, after all. his distinguishing marks were lost in the earthquake
which, is it fair to assign him the fire motif after it's caused him this much grief? wouldn't he rather be the moon, even if he overlaps with mikazuki, and thus not making an impression of himself, who he truly is? to have no value thanks to loss of any distinguishing features, to be defined by one's own tragedy, to be defined by the man who came before him, to be defined by one master out of many... what kind of impression is that, I wonder?
is it worth it to cling only to the stories about one's self to derive value from it?
think about his other compliments with other swords, though... he's fire to ookurikara’s cold, but kara sometimes gets fire motifs because of the kurikara on his tang, so if he's the cool temperament to kara's hotbloodedness...
tsurumaru is also associated with the cold and death, owing to his rather unfortunate circumstances of living again after he was stolen from a grave in winter, so if mitsu his his warmth and life...
and hasebe, whose owner oda allegedly died in the flames of honnouji, so he can be assigned the fire and death motif... so if mitsu tempers his anger and provides a balm to the scorch marks left behind by oda's wrath...
unfortunately I don't know enough about sada, but kasen, even... if kasen is elegant yet brash and violent under the surface... though it's not hot/cold and rather butterflies and masks, elegance in midst of war, I wonder how mitsu's usual motifs can fit in with this? I wonder...
is that by design? surely it must be; a host must be able to adapt to a manner of social situations to entertain their guests, so for him to be flexible to work in a whole manner of ways with other swords in a motific sense...
mitsu also plays off of fuku in a reverse sense bc fuku is more open. "we mitsutada are known to he easy going",  after all, but mitsu... mitsu doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve as much as fuku does (fuku also has a literal heart on his chest, framed by his tiddy window in his art. thanks to an artist friend who pointed that out to me!). a closed off younger brother, defined by two celestial bodies, and an older brother, defines by his connection to the earth, more human, who loves flowers and has human regrets, perhaps...
how sad, an ascension, leaving his older brother behind, in reality, and in a motific sense
mitsu gets orbited by others who arguably behave much more humanly than him, and yet does he orbit someone himself? perhaps tsuru is the exception, having been defined by death, destined to die once he was buried in that grave, a fate that transcends humanity and physics. stars do die, after all, sending all that orbit it careening into the void of space
as an aside, the toudan are gods of the sword, while the saniwa is a god of gods, so does that mean all the swords are heavenly deities? they orbit the master, who, like a human, will inevitably age and die, sending their swords that orbit them careening into the void? an interesting exploration for any writers who want/do explore immortal saniwa or saniwa who have aged and passed in their tenure as saniwa
but mitsu’s moon motif can make sense if we decide to use external uses of the moon the light. much like how dimitri in fire emblem is given the moon to reflect byleth's light, to highlight his friends. he has no inherent glow of his own; he needs the sun to shine. though it's not as drastic and I'm sure I'm bending mitsu too far out if character, but the reason he can motif contrast with so many, is not just because he has a contrasting sun/moon, hot/cold motif, but is because of the moon he can be associated with
he can reflect others' motifs and attributes with his own light, to mesh well with others. it's the duty of the host, but it's an attribute of the moon. though mitsu does not take this to an extreme he does have an association with reflective light and supporting others in such a way

Part Thirteen: Vulnerable
***
I wake a few hours later. Feeling groggy but also well rested, forgetting about my earlier troubles. I turn to my side, the clock saying seven. I also notice a piece of paper, a note.
Orochimaru wants me to meet with me.
I force myself out of bed, and head to the living area. Empty. The kitchen is also empty so I try knocking on his door, nothing. Last place is the lab, which in all honesty should of been where I checked first but since their hideout is pretty big, you never know where’d you’d find someone. I knock.
“Yes?”
Says a voice. I open the door a crack, just enough to poke my head in. Remembering what I was told. “Don’t go in there unless either myself or Kabuto requests it.”
“Orochimaru wanted to see me.”
I say, speaking to Kabuto’s back. He turns in his swivel chair, opening a drawer and grabbing a ring with multiple keys on it.
“Follow me.”
He says as he stands, now walking towards me. I hold the door open for him, letting him pass through. We walk down the corridor all the way to the end, making a right instead of a left. At the end of this hallway sits a ladder. Kabuto begins to climb and I follow in pursuit. We climb for no more than a minute, coming to a halt as Kabuto starts fiddling with the keys. Sunlight comes bursting through the hatch the moment he opened it. Blinding me momentarily as my eyes adjust. I give Kabuto a minute to climb about before continuing upwards. A hand is presented to me as I reach the top. I grab on and Kabuto helps me out. Once we’re standing I take a look around us. Nothing but forest. The view is beautiful. Kabuto snaps the hatch shut. A fake bush is attached to the metal cover, perfectly concealing it away. He starts walking. We walk until I see Orochimaru sitting close to the edge of a cliff. He seems to be meditating.
“That will be all. Thank you Kabuto.”
He says. His right hand turns back the way we came and disappeared into the brush that we just emerged from.
“Come to me.”
Speaks Orochimaru.
I do as I’m told and slowly make my way to him, coming to a stop a few feet away.
“Please sit.”
He says. I sit cross legged on the grass patch. I watch curiously for a minute before he opens his eyes. The muscles in his arms tighten as he leans back, resting on his palms.
“It’s beautiful here, don’t you think?”
He asks, still staring off into the distance in front of us.
“Quite.”
I reply taking the view all in. I can tell that there’s a large lake at the bottom of the cliff, seeing a bit of it from where I sit now.
“This is why I chose this location. It’s far enough away that I have peace, but not too far if I need to get into town in a hurry. The view is what truly got me to stay.”
He continues.
“You have good taste.”
I tell him. The silence fills the air around us, making the evening call and peaceful. Being in his presence always relaxes me.
“But this isn’t why I called you to me this evening.”
Oh no, did I do or say something wrong? I ask myself.
“Y/n..”
He begins. My heart stuttering nervously. I feel myself freeze when he turns his head to look at me.
“I hope you know that you can come to me. No matter what the reason is. If your bored or simply wanting some company, I’d be more than happy to oblige.”
Orochimaru continues, his eyes never leaving my face.
“This is your home now. For as long as you need it to be. Even after you leave, you’re always welcome here.”
I listen intently as he talks to me. His manner is relaxed, seemingly stress free. This brings me back to the first time meeting him. At the restaurant, as he sat beside me. He was worried. I could see that his muscles were tense. The complete opposite of how he is now.
“The reason I wanted to speak with you privately was because I happened to hear something that made me worry for you. Now please, don’t think I’m being nosey or imposing myself into your life or the way you feel. But, I’m pretty sure that with my abilities you realized what other things I can do. My hearing happens to be much more evolved than most.”
Orochimaru looks away for the first time in a while, facing the water and opposite cliff side now.
“I know about your scars y/n and I just want you to know that if you ever feel like you want to do that to yourself again, please come to me. I will not judge, I may seem scary or cruel but I am very understanding. When I first realized, my heart broke. It still aches. Whoever or whatever made you feel this way will pay. You never deserved any of it and I hope you know that it wasn’t your fault.”
Orochimaru stops, watching me from the corner of his eye. I fight my tears back with everything in me. I know he can see how glossy my eyes have become. I look away from him, staring out into the distance to compose myself before speaking.
“You can be vulnerable with me y/n. Don’t hide your true self.”
He says, catching onto me.
“Thank you.”
I say in a whisper. Whenever I cry, talking almost becomes impossible, without making me want to cry harder. A tear slides down my cheek. Before I’m able to catch and wipe it away, I feel Orochimaru’s thumb graze my cheek, removing the tear for me. I avert my attention from the view and back to him. He’s been staring at me for a while, watching me become a mess right before his eyes.
With one slick quick movement, he’s on his knees in front of me. His hand moved from my cheek and into my hair. My eyes close as his fingers massage a spot behind my ear on my scalp.
“You’re safe with me, just know that y/n.”
My eyes snap open at the sudden closeness of him. A small gasp escapes my lips when I see and feel how close he is from my face. At this moment, I feel an overwhelming urge to turn my head towards him, wanting our lips to be closer. I’ve never craved someone the way I do for him.
***
My body felt electric. The way she’s looking into my eyes is making me weak. The small gasp she let out made me almost lean forward and kiss her. In this moment I feel the way her mind and body crave me, but will she ever admit it? Maybe.
I lean forward, resting my forehead on hers for a brief moment before standing up. I hide my laugh with a cough when she becomes confused at my quickness. I hold my hand out to her, helping her up.
That night, after dinner, y/n retired to her room for the night, while Kabuto and I worked in the lab. Hour by hour we worked. Most of the time in silence apart from papers rustling to clicks in the keyboard as we typed. I start reading over some old notes from last months experiments, wanting to change the outline for next time.
“I need Orochimaru…”
I hear coming from the direction of the door, I was so engulfed in my work that I didn’t even hear y/n Knock on the door.
“My lord.”
Begins Kabuto.
By now I’m already on my feet and making my way over to her.
“I got it. Thank you Kabuto.”
I say, slipping into the hallway. I watch as he nods and closes the door behind us.
There she is, standing in her pajamas, looking straight ahead at my torso.
“Y/-.”
I begin. She wraps her arms around my back, burying her face into my chest as she holds me. This surprised me at first, causing me to hold my arms out awkwardly in the air. I allow the shock to subside, slowly moving down to pick her up. She doesn’t fight it, and she doesn’t tell me no. My hands Find themselves sitting on the back of her thighs as I carry her back to her room. I kick the door closed behind me as we enter. Her bed is a mess, two pillows are on the floor, as well as a sheet. The comforter is bundled up at the end of the bed. It seems that she’s had a difficult night. I sit down on the bed, with her still wrapped around me.
“What’s going on? Hm?”
I ask her, cooing into her ear. My hands now holding her neck and part of her jaw, making her look at me. I thumb her hair away from her eyes. Her eyes swelling up with tears. I’m becoming more concerned because this isn’t my y/n, at least not a side of her that I’ve seen yet. The tears flowed, spilling over onto her cheeks. She tries pushing her head down, trying to hide herself.
“Y/n, it’s alright. Talk to me.”
I say gently.
“I cant take this anymore Orochimaru.”
She sobs out. Her breath hitching.
“What do you mean?”
I ask.
“I’m tired of hiding my feelings. I did it out of fear but I cant take it.”
She says looking down.
I give her room to breathe, not wanting to push and pry. I want her to tell me on her terms.
She lifts her head up after a moment, finding my confused and worried eyes. My body falls back a little at the pressure and intensity of her action. She planted her lips to mine, almost frantic, acting like it’s my last time seeing her. A small groan escapes from my lips as I feel her hands intertwining in my hair, tugging on it slightly. My hands have moved to her hips, holding her rooted to the spot.
“Y/n I-.”
I muster out between a kiss.
She stops instantly. Trying to move away from my grip.
“I’m so sorry.”
She says.
“For what?”
I ask her, raising an eyebrow.
“Did you think I didn’t enjoy that? That I haven’t thought about doing it myself?”
I tease. I watch as her eyes light up at the realization I feel the same way about her that she feels about me.
“You-?”
She stutters out.
“Haven’t you noticed? The way I act around you, the way I look at you.”
I whisper, grabbing a tighter hold on her waist, flipping us both over so that she’s below me. Something about the way she looks up at me makes me want to combust.
“You’re a part of my life now y/n and to be quite honest with you, I don’t think I want to let go.”
I say, leaning down so that my lips graze her ear. I can feel the goosebumps that are spreading over her body. The way her body is reacting to the way I taunt and tease her is something I truly didn’t anticipate.
“Now rest. I have guests coming tomorrow.”
I tell her as I push myself up and away from her. Her eyes travel from my arms and back up to my face.
“Orochimaru.”
She says my name in that gentle voice I heard her use with Kakashi back at the craft store. I catch myself before I drop to my knees for her.
“Hm?”
I reply back.
She stands, walking to fill the short distance between us. I look down at her through my hair as I feel her hand trace up my chest, wrapping around the back of my neck. She uses a light pressure to tug my head down.I bend, leaving my ear close to her lips so she can tell me whatever she wants.
“Two can play this game.”
She lets go instantly, leaving me shocked. Y/n backed away, now leaning up against the side of the mattress. The corner of her lips turning upward, smirking at me.
“Mm.”
I let out, watching her. Smirking back at her the same way she is to me. She truly doesn’t know what she does to me.

I've been enjoying your liveblog of donbros!! I do wish we got more team dynamics too, but the characters individually have been a lot of fun until now!
Kaito is so suspicious, stacey come pick him up he's acting weird
is there someone you want to see more of? I want sononi to get more screentime
I think it's the last Kamen Rider I watched but I can't help but compare this to Kabuto, which also had like "are y'all a team or nah" problems even though I LOVED Kabuto. Like more than it deserves. We want teams! But yes, very much enjoying everyone.
Kaito is activating my fight or flight. Very good job Komagine Kiita, what the fuck though what is happening. But he's seriously doing a GREAT job of being this very opposite of Kaito Zenkaiger.
Sononi needs more screentime yes. And so far, Tsubasa too. But Shinichi is my beloved and I'm glad for all the interactions of him and Haruka, the potential for VIOLENCE is beautiful. I'm looking forward to the Sonoza/Haruka interactions too.

Foot Clan AU Casey and Karai - [🏒] our muses play a game of ice hockey on a frozen lake
| SEND AN EMOJI FOR A STARTER ! ↳ winter season & holiday based
Karai, was the first one to make her way into the small cabin. Slipping through the now open door back, pressed to old splinter wooden walls. Mask covering part of her face. As she narrowed her gaze searching out into the deep dark sea of darkness in the house. Long ago left abandoned or to seem that way. It now severed as a safe house. Or was meant to be that way. Leaving the foot wasn't really an option. There was only one way you got to leave the clan. Through death. Either by giving it for the honor of the foot. Or by having it taken when you lost that honor. Which was exactly what brought Karai here today.
Ears trained on the silence of the still old house, short of small sounds of the house simply settling. Pipes hidden away behind wood and insulation creaked. As Karai made her steps lighter than a feather moving across egg shells. Near about holding her breath in as she made her way through the house. Her eyes scanning her surroundings as she made her way through the empty house. But it was better to check. More to make sure the place truly was empty. There was evidence of someone being here not long ago at best. Could down water droplets from the coffee pot and the smallest specks of a Ramen season packet on the counter. But it seemed that was all the evidence left behind. Karai wondered if it was pure luck at that.
Soon ease her walk into a more casual stroll. Not minding how each step made the old wooden floor planks squeak with each step she took forward. Clicking her tongue against her teeth annoying because they got here to late. They hit this spot but clearly ran off. And she didn't have much to work with to prevent the trail going cold. Walking over to the window as she peered out there was snow covering the ground, may be able to find the faint evidence of foot prints? She thought to herself before she drifted her attention to the near by lake and gave a roll of her eyes. "Casey"
Pivoting on her heels as she made her way out and off to the frozen over lake she could feel the vine in her head starting pulsate. Fingers starting to curl in towards the palms of her hands as she makes her way over to the froze lake finding her brother out there. "Casey!" She yells as she removes the mask from her face throwing it down into the fresh powered of snow. "We are meant to be tracking down a deserter not playing on the ice." She spoke up managing to keep her tone far more even this time around as she spoke. Cocking her hip to the side as she folded her arms over the front of her chest. "Not practicing trick shots." She expresses clearly unimpressed in the moment. And taking out her annoyance of the cold trail on her 'older' brother who didn't seem to care as much as he should about this whole mission.
If anything Casey seemed to be more enjoying that they were so far away from home. Having be trailing after the traitor far into New Hampton. Karai on the other hand has desired so strongly to be given the mission. After all she was planed to wear the Kuro kabuto one day so how best to make it clear she was next in line then to show any one who dared to leave could? She stepped on the ice testing it a moment should be safe if Casey was skating out on it. It was fairly slick but she was able to balance and slipped out and make her way next to her brother. Slightly annoyed by how he seemed the full opposite her and not taking it serious in the slightest. "You know father isn't going to care how many pucks you slam into that net compared to you being the reason we lost track of them." She goes and used their father's ever threatening aura as a way to get through to Casey.
Before she sighed and looked over to the safe house. Lips pursing a bit as she found it in her to suppress the need to shiver. Even with her armor the icy chill of the air, only colder on top the lake was seeping into through the plates of steel. "Not that is matters this was a bust, they left a good time ago. Made it more a pit stop more than anything." She expressed her annoyance with a huff. They weren't the first to try and leave after all. And in some attempt to extend help to those who tried a sort of trail had been left behind for other foot soldiers. Of course none truly made it all the way clear. Least that was what they were always been told. Which only set more pressure on to Karai's shoulders. If she were to be the first to allow one to slip away for good? Hell what ever her father did wouldn't compare to the shame she would have to carry despite being the new head of the clan. No one would take her serious. She had always known that this was where her path was leading up too. All the harsh training everything. She was being made out to be refined into the perfect foot ninja, nothing less would be able to stand at the head after all.
As he mind was lost in that thought the sound of blades on ice was not helping her as she reached out and near about tore Casey's hockey stick out from his grip. "Would you cut it out!" She snaps bearing her teeth at him. "What about any of this are you not understanding! We are after a deserter! We are on a mission to take blood! That is the only. ONLY" she repeated the word as she pointed a finger towards Casey as if that would somehow get it through his damn thick skull. "Way anyone is allowed to leave our clan Casey! So stop screwing around! And you wonder why father keeps looking at you like you nothing but a fucking joke!"
The venom in her words were not lost on her but in the moment of anger she couldn't control the lashing her tongue just gave. There may be things she was unaware of but she could see what passed over Casey's eye when she spoke like that. Of course she didn't offer an apology. Simply moving to straight her self as she looked over the hockey stick in her hands now. She let her words hang in the air between them even if she didn't mean it it might not matter. A see decided his hockey stick was more interesting, she really didn't mean that. Casey risked his ass for her often and took more blows for her then any other ninja in the clan ever would. Karai wouldn't be surprised if Casey tried to take blame for this failed mission even. It was just the stress talking. But not Karai talking to express that was the case. Stress or not she couldn't let anything slip through. She set the end of the stick down on the ice and slightly tapped it to the ice a few times.
"I still don't get your obsession with this sport." That was her way of saying she didn't mean it by changing topic. Eyeing the puck she moved to slightly tap the side side with the stick. "hmm slippery." She mused in her observation. Letting her gaze shift to the side to look at Casey trying to read his own expression right now before quickly looking away not sure she really wanted to note any expression her words might have painted on to him just then. "What do you call it? A hat trick?" because she did absorb some of what he rambled on about when it came to the sport. It was her way of saying sorry, a way of saying she didn't mean it. Karai wished deeply she could just do that instead. She handed the stick over towards him.
"Think you can do one?" She offers in a faint challenge her smile a tad more sheepish extending her attempt of peace with the offer. "Eh I need to think about where to check next besides, they have to be moving on foot right now with how the weather is." In case Casey brought up the mission. "besides they can get all the way to the boarder and will still catch them." Will as in both of them. She hopes he understands when she makes the concussion attempt to express it would be both of them. Pulling the hockey stick her way now. "Unless your only talk?" She smirks now "I mean easy to claim you can make all those shots with that big gap tooth mouth of yours, but I bet you crumble under pressure. I bet you couldn't even land a puck to the back of the guys head." She offers knowing Casey? he might actually try knocking the guy they were tracking like that.
