Hello! It's lonely-cereal. I really adore your blog since I've been obsessed with the promised neverland for over 4 years. And I wanted to tell you an idea I had/hear your thoughts.
So, I'm currently writing a promised neverland x OC. (Canon timeline.) and I came up with line a fanmade demon world plant. It's called muerte. It works the very opposite of the Vida plant. It's related to it. Vida is like it's "evil twin." instead of sucking the life out of it's victims, it can undo the effects of vida If so desired. It only withers if the person who's touched it last is dying or has died. Since "Vida." means life in Spanish, but takes life away, I named the fanmade one muerte since that means "death." in Spanish, even though it can bring life back. I thought it'd be an interesting concept for promised neverland fandictions.
It started when Ray and my OC found it and gave one to each other to make sure the other was always safe before my OCS shipment.
It looks like this.
Anyways I just wanted to hear your thoughts about it since I believe it could be cool for TPN AUS or oneshots.
Tumblr media
Heyyo 👋
Going to digress a bit to start off, but one of my reservations with the series can be summed up with these tags from @whamss on this poll regarding the ending:
#nothing serious that happens to any ‘good’ character lasts if they’re younger than 20 lol #again its been a hot ass minute but tpn was at its best when Shirai knew how to raise stakes and make them feel actually serious
With the specification of "good character under twenty whose name the reader is aware of before they die" because during the bunker raid and Andrew's subsequent pursuit, there are six innocent children who are murdered.
Tumblr media
(Chapter 111)
Fred's, Malcom's, and Mary's deaths are particularly brutal in that rather than shooting them from a distance, Andrew chose to relish bludgeoning them to death with the butt of his rifle until their faces were unrecognizable.
Tumblr media
However, none of them have any significant moments in the narrative prior to dying, and their names aren't revealed until this extra in chapter 119. I distinctly remember feeling Shirai was trying to have his cake and eat it too, running with this to say "see, death is still a real possibility for these kids!" The effect is muted though when I don't know who they are besides "background character whose design I vaguely recognize from earlier chapters" and all ten members of the Goldy Pond Resistance survived their gun battle with the demon nobles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reading all that in chapter 85 and then seeing Paula and Sandy alive in chapter 96 was so jarring and kind of a "lol okay I guess" moment for me on my first read. It's not actively wishing for the death or brutalization of children who are already victims of the farm system but wanting to see lasting consequences that have weight to them and seeing how characters cope. Sandy loses an eye, but much like Emma losing her ear, we never see him note his long-term struggles with that loss, such as having a larger blind spot, the anxiety and anger that would understandably result in, or even minor annoyances that when stacked together weigh on him. Compare to Lucas who, while still a very capable character, does reflect on how the loss of his arm impedes him.
Tying that back around to muerte, my initial thought was that it similarly feels like it's cheating the narrative on a surface-level read and it seems to rely more on soft magic than the series typically does. Compare to Mujika's blood that has seemingly magical properties. While we're never given the specific details of how it works, Norman's explanations of demon physiology in chapters 120, 126, and 127 are enough to ground it in the hard science of this series' universe. It provides something their genomes are missing and is potent enough to permanently stabilize them upon introduction to the body through consumption.
But again, this is only a surface-level read and I don't know all the details of your story.
Vida is like it's "evil twin." Instead of sucking the life out of its victims, it can undo the effects of vida if so desired. It only withers if the person who's touched it last is dying or has died.
How does it undo the effects of vida, which draws up a being's blood into its stem and then carries it to its petals that results in its flowers blooming? Does it naturally create chemicals that when introduced into a being's bloodstream don't harm said being but cause a negative reaction in the vida plant, resulting in it shriveling up and dying? What of the stab wound still left by it, which is a major factor in its victim's death due to piercing their heart? Does it provide potent clotting agents to prevent a being from bleeding out after its removal as well as rapid mending to flesh?
I'm also a bit confused by what causes muerte to wither, assuming that it has to touch a being that's in the process of dying in order to counteract the vida and restore life to them. If a being uses it on another being but they're unaware they're dying from a disease like cancer, or adrenaline is pumping and they're unaware of a fatal wound when they go to help someone else, is muerte rendered ineffective?
Another thing to consider and something that could potentially offset the narrative convenience of being able to undo death is how it factors into demon culture. Gupna is a carryover from the original faith. Is muerte seen as unholy and are beings saved/revived by it seen as unnatural in the eyes of the general demon population and/or those who follow the original faith? Would that put a human or demon revived by it in conflict with Sonju? Is it highly regulated by the demon nobility as another means of controlling the demon population, or is it so rare it's believed to be an extinct species of plant? Are beings hindered in some way after being revived or are they fully restored to a clean bill of health? Having power over death in a series where it's treated as a genuine finality would dramatically alter a culture and its relationship with the afterlife.
It started when Ray and my OC found it and gave one to each other to make sure the other was always safe before my OCS shipment.
Since Ray isn't aware of the intricacies of the gupna ceremony prior to the explanation Sonju gives Emma, I'm assuming this is initially a sweet gesture between friends because they thought the flower looked pretty, and it unwittingly ends up saving your OC's life? Cute. |3

me? infodumping about the Abraham Lincoln centric musical I’m writing? HELL YEAH HERE WE GO!
This project has been in development for the last several years, and I unabashedly adore it more than anything I’ve worked on before. So uh … you’re gonna get a preview of it in the form of snack pack sized facts whether you like it or not.
SUMMARY: “𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐓𝐎𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐍𝐎𝐍𝐄: 𝐀 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋” dives deep into the tortured psyche of Abraham Lincoln and tells the story of our Sixteenth President’s tumultuous years in office like it has never been told before.
Orchestrally, it holds the most similarities to Les Misérables, Hello Dolly, Newsies, and Anastasia. The narrative structure of the production is comparable to Evita, Jekyll and Hyde, and Hadestown.
this production will be A STUDY IN … the five stages of grief, leadership during turbulent times, the joys of fatherhood, spirituality and the occult, the quest to discover and establish one’s self-identity, courage in its many forms, collaboration between opposing personalities for the sake of the greater good, the transformation of a team to a brotherhood, legacy and the historical narrative, mental health, personal agency, and the horrors of war.
The musical is narrated by Robert Todd Lincoln, who in 1922 at the Lincoln Memorial’s dedication strives to clear away misconceptions regarding his father. Similar in archetypal design to Evita’s Che and Hadestown’s Hermes, he tells the musical’s story as a flashback, and has an omniscience granted to him by historical hindsight. He tells the story so that history won’t repeat itself and no matter how much he wishes to do so, it cannot be altered.
Although it certainly appears otherwise at first, there are no human antagonists within this storyline. William Henry Seward deceives the audience into believing that he is the antagonist during act one; however, this character arc is resolved by the development of his friendship with Lincoln. The real antagonists are the institution of slavery, the civil war itself, and Lincoln’s own depression.
Rather than the Gettysburg Address or Emancipation Proclamation, Willie Lincoln’s death is Act One’s final scene. This creative decision was made to highlight the show’s focus on mental health, and to render the Civil War an entirely personal affair. The last number of Act One offers the audience a glimpse into Lincoln’s personal struggle with the death of his son. In the timespan of a single musical number, he speedruns the Five Stages of Grief, eventually accepting that his son is dead and he must persevere through the pain. If he crumbles, more fathers will lose their sons.
The second part of Act Two’s opening number sheds light on Mary’s approach to the grieving process. Upon realizing that she became “so devoted to [our] political advancement” that she neglected her religious beliefs, Mary begins to wonder whether she was to blame for Willie’s demise. Robert briefly abandons his role as narrator to become Mary’s subconscious mind, poisoning her thoughts with the concept that Willie was struck down by a higher power as punishment for sinful behavior.
There are several musical numbers and scenes whereupon Abraham communicates with two versions of himself — version one being the nine year old Abe, and version two being the Abe that has just arrived in Springfield. From his younger selves, he seeks advice, reassurance, and listening ears.
That’s all the details you’ll get for now, folks! Feel free to reach out if you want to be part of the creative team for this show, or even just to suggest an idea.

Finished Bayonetta 3 and I might as well give a review of it
I’m giving it a tag but if you’re seeing this anyway and still don’t want to be spoiled, this will contain spoilers for Bayonetta 3.
First off, how’s that gameplay? Is it fun?
…I mean, it’s a fucking Platinum game, of course the gameplay’s fun. The combat’s the same as ever: Really fucking good. The new weapons are super unique and all have a really good, distinct feel. I’m a huge fan of the new traversal abilities with each weapon, especially the yo-yo.(oh, what a surprise, the Spider-Man fan likes the weapon that lets you web-swing and wall crawl). I will say I miss being able to combine weapons, but if that trade off is required, I’d say it’s worth it. The new demon slave mechanic took a bit to get used to, but once I got the hang of it, I really enjoyed it.
Jeanne’s side missions are alright. Really not too much to say about them, they’re really just mini games.
Viola’s gameplay is pretty fun, and I liked the feel of both her sword and hand to hand combat. Wish the parrying worked more like Metal Gear Rising, it being on the same button as the rush down is…awkward, especially when I’m so used to the trigger dodge being my main “button that makes me not get hurt”, so the muscle memory makes it even more awkward.
And on the other hand, the story.
Okay, here’s the part that’s been… not as positively received across the board. This story is mixed, imo. There are moments in this story where I definitely thought “oh this is fucking awesome, I love this”. But there were also a lot of moments that left me confused or even outright disappointed.
The alternate Bayonettas fucking rocked. I loved each one of them doing stupid bullshit, and I loved how unique they all seemed, even though they’re literally all the same person.
I was mixed on Viola as a character, tbh. I liked her personality(characters who swear casually are cool), and her design rocks. But on the other hand, I saw her twist coming from a mile away, and I’m…not exactly sure what they were going for with her, tonally. In one scene, I’m supposed to take her completely seriously, but in another, she does a looney toons “looking down and realizing they’re about to fall” gag(not making that up, that genuinely happens). I’m not saying you can’t have a character be in both funny scenes and serious scenes, but I feel like this is literally going to the extremes with both, and it’s a bit much. Cheshire fucking rocks, though. Love that guy. What a freak.
Luka’s new werewolf thing was interesting, but fuck, it is not fleshed out enough. It just comes outta nowhere. There’s a bit of stuff involving alternate Lukas being involved, but we only see one alternate version of him across the whole story. If you wanna make Luka more important, fuckin’ commit to it, don’t half ass it like this.
And…I guess we should address the elephant in the room. A lot of people have talked about the ending, specifically with how Luka’s involved. So I might as well give my thoughts on it. To start off, I don’t think it’s necessarily a problem that Bayonetta ends up with a guy, or even that that guy is Luka. Like…sure, it’s disappointing for everyone who wanted Bayo and Jeanne to get together, but Bayonetta basically outright says she wants to fuck Luka during the first game, and it’s not like Luka’s flirting was always one-sided around her. She teases him back too, this isn’t completely out of left field. For me, at least, the bigger issue is that it’s weird to see Bayonetta get into a serious relationship with any one character. I think of Bayonetta as a character who flirts around a lot, but never really commits to one person, so to go from that to “Bayonetta is destined to be with Luka and they are literally compared to Adam and Eve” out of nowhere is jarring and unnatural imo.
The best character I could use as a comparison is probably Mary Jane Watson(woah, SpicyHamSamson talking about Spider-Man stuff? No wayyyy). MJ, when she first shows up, is a total party girl who flirts with pretty much everyone, but never commits to any specific person for long. Now you may be thinking “Well, hang on a sec, Spicy. Mary Jane ended up falling in love with Peter Parker. That’s committing to a specific person.” And you’re right! But that’s because there’s a specific event that causes Mary Jane to change as a person. And that’s the death of Gwen Stacy, someone both she and Peter cared about very much. Gwen’s death forces MJ to mature, and rather than run away from issues, she makes the decision to stay by Peter’s side and comfort him, as a friend. The tragedy of losing someone they care about brings them closer, and ultimately that leads to them falling in love. And it’s extremely powerful.
Bayonetta doesn’t do that, she just goes from flirting around to “destined to be with Luka forever”. And that just doesn’t work, because it comes out of nowhere. There’s no build up to it, it just happens. And that’s not good storytelling. Hell, Bayonetta and Luka barely interact during this game until the last few levels. If you’re gonna push a romance with some characters, at least show that development. Still, could’ve been worse.
And on a larger scale, the ending of this game just…clashes with the rest of the series tonally. Like, I get it, it’s meant to be bittersweet. But that just doesn’t feel right here. If this has to be Cereza’s swan song, sure. It should be a little bittersweet. But this is Bayonetta we’re talking about. This woman should be going out with a BANG. An encore of her most spectacular display of stupid badass bullshit that’ll blow you out of your seats and into a wall. One of the first things we as an audience saw this character do was suplex 15 angels at the same time. In the second game, her first action scene had her ripping her dress when she KICKS A JET INTO THE SKY. Bayo’s last stand here was really disappointing, especially because they had some really cool shit with the Bayonettas from the other two games showing up and then fucking FUSING with main Bayonetta? Like, that shit was BADASS.
And then they barely do anything with it.
Come ON, you guys, I know you can do better than that! Have all three Bayonettas summon their own Madama Butterfly’s and have them play fuckin’ basketball with the final boss! Let me see Madama Butterfly DUNK a motherfucker.
This is Bayonetta’s farewell tour, and frankly, her final performance just doesn’t seem to hit the way it should. Which is disappointing, because they’re not really gonna get a chance to redo that.
With all that said, I’d say the story is still enjoyable. It’s not great, but with a few exceptions, you won’t be miserable sitting through it.
That being said, if you’re getting this game, it’s probably for the gameplay, and if you’re interested in that, I’d definitely recommend it.

Basic Instinct Part 8
A/N: Any of the previous warnings might apply in small mentions, but we're getting to the fluff part of the story, thank heavens.  Masterpost
You words of earlier that day continued to haunt him. 'I sacrificed everything, my childhood and happiness.' Those words felt awfully familiar, and he couldn't help but once more feel like the two of you were kindred spirits. Tomorrow definitely was needed, for the sake of the both of you. Because the two of you seemed to need each other just as desperately. 'She needs someone, like I need her.' So all that truly mattered, was you and his confession. Unfortunately, planning his confession was more difficult then he initially assumed. He wanted to do something to impress you, but if your Shogi muffins taught him anything; it's that something from the heart could be a bigger gesture then expensive gifts, or hiring performers to woo you over with a grand gesture. But what was something what your heart desired, something that he could plan his confession around? For one, something too similar to your idea wouldn't do. He didn't wanted to be lazy and copy your idea, so baked goods were out of the question. Then, he remembered the oldest trick in the book, something timeless that a reader like you would enjoy. A love poem, something he, with the help of Fujioka, could plant along the route he wanted to take you during your shopping trip. Words straight from his heart. His poems either ended up being too formal or too cheesy to his own personal taste, not finding a nice balance in between so he allowed Fuijioka to pick whichever he found the best. Akashi had a slight feeling his butler was enjoying his frustration to a certain degree, in a fond kind of way. It made him smile. As he and Fujioka decided on a way to use the poem, and where, his heart was pounding.
Though that was in no way comparable to when he saw you walk out of the street to one of his father's many cars. Dressed in a long black coat of faux-fur, he could spot you wearing pants in your f/c. He opened the door for you, and let you take a seat next to him. You closed the door with a slightly uncertain look on your face. "How bad was she?" He asked. "She's currently on silent treatment mode." You sighed deeply, and he laid his hand on your shoulder. "She'll be back to her good mood soon enough. Focus on yourself for now. Relax, y/n." You smiled dryly, trying to snap out of your sad state. It tore at his heart, he has never seen you look so tired and vulnerable. So he reached out to his bag. "Have you had breakfast yet? My cook made some croissants." He pulled out a bento box, and opened it to reveal two small croissants with a delicious looking chocolate coating. You accepted them gratefully, and took a bite. It was so good, you were unable to surpress a small moan. He did not want to think about the sound too much, but he wondered, if you'd sound like that if he got to kiss you. You hungrily devoured them, and seemed to relax a bit with the delicious food. You smiled softly, a bit more warmness in your face, much to his relief. "Well, I have made a bit of a schedule for us. I hope you don't mind," Akashi's voice was gentle and you shook your head. "Good. I remember you mentioning you wanted some new markers. We'll visit an art supplies store first, if you'd like that?" "Oh yes! Me and Mari-Chan are doing the new art designs for the school's newspaper but neither of us have great materials for it. I'm buying the markers, she buys the rest. That was our agreement." You said, your mood getting a bit more cheerful at the thought. "You're always eager to lend a hand in school projects. Why did you never tried to join the Student Council?"  Akashi asked, curiously. "I tried to join the one in Middle School, but I always lost the voting. The most popular kids got elected, and the one time where I did had enough votes to join, my position was still given to someone else because he was the best friend of our Vice President and teachers thought they'd have an easier time working together. In the end, even classroom politics revolve around nepotism and popularity, rather then who actually has the best ideas for the school. So why apply for something so meaningless?" "That's unfortunate. That position was rightfully yours, it shouldn't have been given to someone else." You smiled at his words, happy someone was siding with you. The fact he actually was the Student Council President somehow made it feel even better. He was acknowledging your hard work for the school, something no one else ever did except Amari. It made you feel slightly fuzzy on the inside. So you already felt a bit better by the time the car halted. You stepped out slowly, Akashi behind you. You gawked when you saw you were at the front of not just a regulart art supplies store, but the most expensive, top-notch art store in Kyoto, where all the local, high-profile artists shopped. Akashi couldn't help but smile at your expression. "After the way your mother treated you, you certainly deserve the best markers we can find." He said, slowly escorting you inside. Unable to speak, you just stared at all the expensive art supplies you could lay your eyes on. A wall filled with Caran d'Ache products at the entrance of the store greeting you with their bright pigments, another one with various types, and brands, of ink. It was definitely worthy of its reputation. It didn't took long to find a wall with markers of brands used by illustrators, which was a whole lot different then your old set of markers-  A 12 piece Stabilo scented set which left you obsessed with your lemon-yellow marker (which was obviously the first one to be used up). It made you feel a little flustered, as Akashi went over each one. They were so expensive and looked great. Was this really okay? Akashi then held up a set of 36 markers. "I think this one looks nice. What do you think?" He examined the look on your face, the hesitation. It was clear you didn't wanted to be seen as a financial burden as your line of sight kept hovering over the prices, which he found utterly ridiculous. "That one looks nice, and there's definitely enough color variation. You sure you want to pay, I brought my wallet, you know?" You said, even though you couldn't really afford it with your own pocket money. Akashi scoffed. 'I'd buy her an island if she'd be safe and happy there.'  He thought as he opened his mouth to speak, "I said it's on me. Allow me to use my money to make it actually mean something." He insisted, and you were touched. Without a word of further stubborness, you followed him to the cash register and allowed him to pay for your markers, a small smile playing on your trembling lips. 'He's so kind.' You thought as he accepted the bag which contained your new markers and hoisted it over his shoulder. 'Wait, he's going to carry it too?! He's really a gentleman, isn't he?' As you exited the store, you wondered what you were going to do next, and Akashi guided you forward. "Our next stop would be my personal favorite sports shop. I noticed the shoes you wear during P.E are getting rather old, I want to buy you a new pair." He said, and you were once again shaken by just how much he seemed to notice. "Really? But you already bought me all those wonderful markers." You said, smiling shyly. "Really. I want you to have everything you need." "You're really too kind Seijuro," you gave him a quick hug, and he was certain his heart skipped a beat. Your arms were so soft, he missed them around his figure the moment they left. As the two of you went to the sport shop, Akashi swore he could die from the anxiety, and the strength it required to keep it hidden. Every step closer to the store made him feel like he wanted to run away and abort this entire plan. But you marched on at his side, and thus, he couldn't. Though he certainly felt like he could faint as the store appeared, and felt more tense as the two of you walked inside. It didn't take you long to find a pair of shoes to your liking, size and the school's dress code. Akashi held his breathe as one of the store clerks escorted you to a changing cubicle he had them reserve especially for you. You found it slightly funny he had reserved one for you, but you figured he might have been preparing himself for if you spotted sports wear to your liking. What you didn't expect, when you entered the cubicle, was for there to be a white sheet hung up, with big letters in a handwriting familiar to you and an adorable panda plushy seated on the chair in the changing room underneath the poster.
Most start with roses are red, violets are blue But I'd rather like to think your pressence set my world anew
Dancing sunlight blinded my vision Could there be such a thing as gentle passion? I felt hot yet serene Like the reflection of water capturing light made with kerosene Your voice sings at the back of my mind Gentle warnings and whispers, so kind I don't wish for this feeling to end. Will you be my girlfriend?

A Little Look back at the Fourth Wing Doulogy so far
I still don’t hate the books just Violet and Xadens Romance annyoed me trough one and two. Also still don’t care about Xaden at all. My biggest issue with him is how he is written and designed, he feels more like marketing and a copy and paste of Rhysand but forgetting what makes Rhysand interesting and compelling. Also can someone tell me why they love each other, aside from having sex with each other? It just feels written without emotion and thought. They are some good Ideas but they are mostly in the background. I would’ve liked to see more bonding between Violet and her dragons, more of Vi and her friends and family, more of the political stuff. The Dragons are treaten like mindless creatures. Also why does no Dragon have a saddle? Would make things much easier. I also don’t understand the comparison to httyd anymore, Violet and Tairn are not even like Hiccup and Toothless at all, they also don’t give the vibes of this incredible friendship that Hiccup and Toothless share. Name me one bonding moment between them? Also the comparison between Violet and Hiccup just makes me angry now, because Hiccup is a million times better written and way more intelligent than Violet. Violet is very two dimensional and a Mary Sue. They both have disabilities: Hiccup with his leg and Violet with her ehlers-Danlos syndrome. In httyd Hiccups metal leg is a handicap for him but he doesn’t treat it like a handicap even though it baffles him sometimes, he improves it troughout the trilogy. In Violets case her Syndrome just disappears. She doesn’t find a way to Life with it easier, it is just never brought up again or treated as important as it should in a book with a person that has this kind of illness. The only thing Violet thinks about is fucking Xaden, her whole world centers around him, her Family feels less important. Everything feels less important. And now we are back to all the relationship drama with Violet and Xaden. In the second book their romance is just toxic, they remind me a lot of Tom and Jun from T9R, but both romances weren’t even good to begin with. But the whole book I was just: Break up or finally die Xaden. Hell I was rudding more for Dain and his Releationship to Violet as Friends in the second book. Please never compare Violet and Xaden to Hiccstrid, that would be disgrace to a very natural, very well developed and written couple. That is probably the best Couple in Cinema/Literature. Fourth Wing 1 and 2 are really overrated and it shouldn’t count in the section of Fantasy and Romantsy. Erotic Fantasy fits better. I just wished the romance wouldn’t be the focus of the Story, it could be so much more fantastic and unique if we haven’t Violet and Xaden want to fuck each other the whole time. The Story suffers under it. Rebecca Yarros has talent I could see that in more of the stuff that is going on the background. But if I were you, I would have given myself more time to practice and to figure and develop stuff and characters more. (Also mind of a scriber, heart of a rider is basically heart of a Chief, Soul of a Dragon)
But thanks to these books I know exactly what I shouldn’t do in writing a Fantasy novel were a romance is in it. I can promise you that, the love story in my first book is not the center of the Story it’s actually inspired and modelled after Hiccstrid. Which every Romance Author should take a cake of, because Hiccstrid is awesome in every way possible.

hello fellow former mlb victim fan
I’m so curious now on what your thoughts on the show are. Like, just in general and also how the romance was handled. If you wanna share 👀
LISTEN. Way too many things and I will end up making this post too long but... I have some pent up frustration so let's just go by seasons (+ some other stuff) THIS IS VERY LONG SO HAVE A NICE READ
S1 : I think s1 was fine overall, though I was absolutely creeped out by Mari's behavior like ??? She's very likable and honestly I enjoy her character most of the time but it's just. Why would you make this 14 years old obsessive ?? As a middle aged man ?? AS A GAG ???? anyways. I think s1 was the only season where I don't have many things to say because 1) it wasn't that bad 2) i don't remember much
S2 : The beginning of my doom, CN is dumbed down more and more by the writers in favor of LB and this is so weird. Adrien isn't dumb, what he is oblivious and unaware of social norms. He spent his life homeschooled. (ALSO may I ask why is his life presented as going down hill when his mom disappeared when he's always been hidden from the world ?? Why is his mom shown as good when he couldn't even go to school and didn't have any friends except Chloé ??? How is she a good mother ??? How did his father change exactly ?? Did he just become colder or ??)
I think the swap kwami episode was in s2 and this is one of my LEAST favorite episodes ; CN's job is perceived as easy compared to LB but i'm sorry can Mari sacrifice herself so easily without any guarantee to come back ?? The heavy burden of the power of destruction and the knowledge that she could KILL someone doesn't bother her ??? This episode just served the purpose to show how LB is just. Much more important than CN and I am SICK of it.
Also uh can we talk real quick about Master Fu ? Dude thought "training" (that apparently happened off screen which is just bad writing) a CHILD to become the next guardian was a good idea ? Mari is a kid with dreams and passions and chaining her down to this duty is just outright cruel. In later seasons we don't even see her make anything ? She is supposed to want to become a fashion designer and now she's stuck stressing over kwamis and a way too complicated task where if she messes up, the world as they know it ends.
ALSO. Just my opinion but. The guardian shouldn't have been Mari. Or Adrien. It should've been a third party, completely unrelated, so no power imbalance would be created between CN and LB. I'm sorry but this is such a huge thing about the show, that has been hammered into our heads, that "destruction and creation must be balanced" and they do that ?? (plus it led to the season i hate the most, s4) The show had the opportunity to introduce another character, or make use of an already introduced one (i.e Luka) and make them a guardian ! Or something ??
s3 was fine, I liked Chat Blanc for the most part (Mari's tresspassing, her sniffing Adrien's pillow... ugh.) and thought it was very very heartbreaking to see Adrien like that, my poor boy cannot catch a break. Also Chloé redemption !! She deserved it, with her abusive mother and all, too bad they decided to burn everything by making her a caricature of herself and introducing the most bland replacement for her ! (A half sister whose existence made NO SENSE ? I thought Chloé's mom didn't like kids ? Plus why would she bother taking her other kid to Paris, and risking her reputation with cheating rumors ???)
Now... Now let's talk about s4... So much happened in this god forsaken season and i'm so, so, so tired and shed so many tears of RAGE. Chat Noir became a sidekick, plain and simple. Not even "just" a sidekick the protagonist would respect, like Robin, but a simple fill-in, a "partner like any other" as LB so amicably put it in Kuro Neko. I feel like the writers wanted to write conflict and all but... it's so badly written and only served to make people hate CN.
Chat's trust was abused so many times (Ephemeral, when he and LB were supposed to show the other their identity but what he didn't know was that Viperion was to know too, instead of just... explaining the situation ?), he was kept in the dark many, many times, not only by LadyBug, but also by his Father (interesting parallels) and Fu, all which, somehow, have a position of power over him. He felt replaced, which is entirely valid, because as much as he didn't communicate this, he offered LB his help so many times, and tried to open up, and all these have been either ignored or rejected. (now I'll talk about Mari's side after, but just know that i absolutely do not blame her for being stressed ! I am just critizing her actions which hurt her supposed best friend and partner very deeply) Not to mention Scarabella, whom he never knew the existence of, and could've killed. Chat probably doesn't care much that someone knows her identity, but she never told him, or even considered telling him to find someone to tell, too. I'm sorry but LB has been so strict on these rules but now she doesn't follow them, yet expects Chat to. (also, i'm mad they stripped Chloé of her miraculous because apparently "Hawkmoth knows who she is". Well, Hawkmoth knows who Ryuko is too, as well as Rena, or Viperion. Yet they still have theirs ?)
Chat has no support !! no circle to support him whereas Mari has Alya, even the Kwamis, her parents, and her friends ! Adrien's parents are off the list, Nathalie is way too close to his Father, the Gorille isn't much help, and it's not like he's actually close to anyone if not Nino (their only memorable interaction is in Rocketear in s4). Then, he loses his miraculous and is actually blamed for getting hurt by LB's behavior and reacting harshly (he should yes apologize however) LB has provided NO apologies, instead making Chat feel guilty ?? I remember this episode SO well because I was HOPING for a sweet Ladynoir scene, but NOOOOOOOO. Also this showed how shallow Mari's love for Adrien was -- she's basically in love with his mask, not very different from Kagami "Stop acting like a clown" Tsurugi
I think, however, that showing why Adrigami and Lukanette wouldn't work is a great idea ! Was it greatly handled ? Not really, but it could've been great ! I love Kagami and Luka and I wish for them to be in good hands (mine)
One last thing about Chat, then we'll talk about Mari's side ; I HATE HATE HATE how they ignore his struggles or act as if they do not exist. The creator himself calls Adrien "perfect" and act as if Adrien is totally fine, when the situations the boy is in SHOW how distressing his situation is. Adrien is CANONICALLY shown to : accept death and die, more than once, try to cataclysm himself, eat very little, have weak boundaries and doesn't know how to say 'no', isn't really aware of others' boundaries as well, shut down as soon as his father raises his voice, been hit by his Father (both in normal and Hawkmoth form), still hasn't been able to properly grieve his mother. ALL of this, and none of it has been explored, because the focus is not on him if Mari isn't there. The writers HATE abused kids and I'm not afraid to say it, because s5 spoilers showed how they're (Adrien, Chloé and Kagami) treated and considered by the writers.
Now, onto Mari ! You're heard everything I complained about, now let's hear something else ; I loved seeing her under the pressure and how it affected her, though I find it cruel, it was interesting to see since she learned a lot about herself and other people. Too bad the writers refuse to make characters change, huh. Also, nice that she tries to move on from Adrien ! Still not over the statue thing, but it's refreshing to see her move on, if only for like, three episodes. I wish we could've seen genuinely learn how to treat her partner better, how to not take him for granted. Maybe her resenting Master Fu for putting such a heavy burden on her shoulders ? She's the class president, a full time middle schooler, guardian and super hero, and that's it. She cannot indulge in her hobbies anymore and that sucks, because she deserves to be a kid. The writers obviously want her to be the most important character by pushing every single thing and events on her, even when her presence is not even necessary.
Since Mari is pushed to be the centre of everything, where she shouldn't even be, it means she gets both privilege by the writers, and also pain. It was nice though to have a character I could empathize with and also critisize, though the writers want to make her as lovely as possible.
As for the romance between Mari and Adrien... I stopped wanting them to be together in s4, because truth be told, they're incompatible, and the Universe obviously doesn't like them together either lol. It was so weirdly put in s5, and I stopped watching the show since then, so I don't know much, except for big, big spoilers which make me want to barge in the writers' room and strangle them one by one.
The ship is no longer something I enjoy, for many reasons, and I think they should've ended up with someone else (Adrien realizing he's gay and Marinette kissing Kagami on the lips for example)
Okay and for s5 just know that I hate it.
-> Marinette, of all people, learning who Hawkmoth is and then CHOOSING not to tell Adrien, as well as offering Gabriel to die as a hero, is just horrible. The conscious choice of taking away his agency, ONCE AGAIN, hiding secrets from him, hiding from him the fact that his father, his abuser, is HAWKMOTH is horrible. I wanted the confrontation between him and his father, but NOTHING. Mari got the spotlight and Adrien is nothing more than a bird in a cage I hate the writers.
-> Chloé got disowned by her (incompetent) dad and forced to leave with her Mother. What a way to get rid of the bully ! Giving her to her abusive mother ! Who doesn't know her name, doesn't care about ! As if Chloé didn't cry "why don't you love me, mom ?" ! God.
-> the senti reveal. I hate the senti theory i hate that it's real. They can't fight back, otherwise they can just be erased of existence, and even taking back the amok is useless because what if it breaks ? what if you lost it ? someone steals it ? I hate it so, so, so much, and making abused kids sentihumans is the worst thing ever.

its such a shame that rachel stole psyches butterfly wings from her just because she wanted persephone to have the whole butterfly imagery in general it just drives me crazy how persephone is just a big frankenstein mix of all other gods like she's more beautiful than aphrodite, she's smarter than athena, she defeats kronos singlehandedly so fuck zeus i guess, she is a super rare super powerful special fertility goddess i just hate the whole she has to be EVERYTHING at once thing RS got going on. take all of these illegitimate traits away from her and what is left of persephone? a bad daughter, a concerningly naive/stupid barely adult, a bad but bland and boring person in general.
the ancient greeks wouldve never made a weird mixture like this to make a mary sue goddess like persephone.
and its fine make all the mary sues you want they're your characters but make them your OWN original character then, don't take an already existing character and mold them and change them to fit YOUR oc vision of them
God, I hate that as well and since Psyche is a woman of color in this comic it’s not a very good look that she cannot match Persephone and is once again made to be inferior compared to her. I don’t even think Rachel thought of that, but I hate how Psyche has been treated by LO and I hate how nothing surrounding her is really special except for the sex scene and her backstory but I feel like she should’ve been more than that. I hate her character design, yes she is beautiful but it feels too much like Rachel is trying to check off a box rather than actually making Psyche a well rounded character that’s able to be more than a yes man for the gods.
Bottom line is that she deserves better.

How Tui Failed Moonwatcher’s character (written before book 15, but my point still stands)
An old rant I wrote a few years back
So, Moonwatcher is probably one of my most favorite characters in Wings of Fire. I adore her design, her character, and everything else. I felt horrible for her and the things she went through.
Moon is one of the least liked main characters in the fandom as she's thought to be a Mary Sue. Here's what I think.
Moon is not a Mary Sue. At first.
Moon is books 6 and 7 and a little bit of 8 is still shown to have her own flaws and weaknesses, like how she has trust issues. As we know, she didn't know if she could consider Kinkajou a friend even with the ability of reading her mind.
And that all starts with the mental trauma her mom gave her.
Now, I like Secretkeeper and I certainly don't blame her for doing what she did. She did not want Moon to live in that nightmare of a home where she could die of starvation or the volcano.
But still. She left a child. A newborn child. And as soon as Moon hatches, she plagues her thoughts of isolation and how no one is to be trusted.
And, with Moon living in the rainforest, always hiding if anyone even came near her, there is a VERY high probability that she could have witnessed the rainwing kidnappings.
So, Moon was mentally traumatized literally THE MOMENT SHE HATCHED.
Next, Jade Mountain.
Moon finally has all the time in the world to spend time with her mother, but what happens instead?
She's dropped off in a completely strange world filled with strange dragons DESPITE the fact that she has absolutely 0 idea on how to even speak with others after living in isolation her whole life.
So, the night wings won't accept her because she's not enough of a nightwing and the other tribes won't accept her because she IS one. Not exactly the best situation to be in.
Not to mention she's been haunted with nightmares of Jade Mountain falling for MONTHS. And then she meets Darkstalker.
She's manipulated by him because he says they are the same. Moon is tricked into thinking he has good deeds.
Moon has major trust issues, but Darkstalker tricking her into trusting him says a lot on how good of a manipulator he is.
So, we've established Moon is a character with horrible trauma, trust issues, and separation anxiety. She keeps huge secrets from her friends out of fear of losing them because she's lost in her own self hatred.
Not a Mary Sue.
And then, book 8.
In book 8, Moon is a little.. harsh to Peril. A lot of people think this makes Moon unlikable, but it's just Moon showing more flaws and how she's not perfect.
And then she goes off to steal Darkstalker's scroll. Betraying her friends' trust. Going off on her own. Despite promising them.
OK, just Moon showing more flaws and showing how much Darkstalker has manipulated her.
Plus, she realizes how horrible he is and decides not to let him go.
So, she gets a pretty good arc and realizes that Darkstalker isn't the safest dragon.
Hurray!
And then, books 9 and 10
In book 9, she's shown to be weary of Darkstalker, but still completely trusts him. But we just assume that it's the spell Darkstalker put on everyone.
But, in book 10, it's revealed that she didn't have a spell on her. So.. what happened to all of that realization that Darkstalker was bad? Did it just disappear??
In fact, she trusts him enough to fly with him to the rainforest and collect all the night wings from Glory! What!? Why??
After all Glory has done for the night wings, why would she just let Darkstalker do that?
And when Qibli finds her in the library, she seems completely happy and content, like absolutely nothing is wrong. Her and Qibli do have a short and wholesome moment, but she just seems so... one sided now.
The best thing I can compare her to is the Fierceteeth to Clearsight clones. She was amazing in the past, but every change that comes, she progressively becomes more and more one sided and different (in a bad way).
And in book 10, she's basically just used for a plot device, not treated like an actual character like before!!
The third arc
In the 3rd arc, Moon is just a complete plot device. She has no more character. She's still seen to be anxious and secretive, but that's all she is.
I was hoping her arc would involve her realizing it's OK to trust these characters and she'd be more confident and capable, but she's just so bland in the 3rd arc that the only thing I remember her doing is coming up with ideas and delivering prophecies.
I legit cannot think of a SINGLE memorable thing she did in the 3rd arc. Not ONE.
Moonwatcher was my favorite character the moment I read book 6. I found her personality relatable, I loved her design, and thought she had an interesting backstory.
And Tui did a GREAT job creating Moonwatcher as a character.
But as the books went on, it felt like Tui just stopped caring for Moon as a character and more as a plot device.
So, ya. Here's an analysis as to how I think Tui failed Moonwatcher as a character.
Thank you for reading, and have a great day.

personally i’ve been thinking about ✨🥖sunny baudelaire and bread 🍞✨ (a thought that is downright delightful btw) and how subsequently that’d affect the baudelaire household and would like to know your thoughts — does she take up baking? is she any good? we all know sunny is an excellent cook, but cooking is less exact, and to a certain extent, easier to troubleshoot. how determined is she to get the perfect crumb? does she ever move onto bagels, and english muffins and sourdough? does she move from savory to sweet? or do you think she’s already started with sweet and has segwayed her way into the savory with caution? is she cautious at all in the kitchen?
!!!!!!! I think mostly I tend to forget that sunny does predominately COOK in canon and there isn't all that much discussion of BAKING and desserts and bread, and this is mostly bc desserts and bread what I myself do a lot of. (I've got a great breadstick recipe, btw.) BUT the first time sunny uses her teeth in canon IS in fact to open a can of condensed milk for the frosting for beatrice's birthday cake, so!!
i think post-canon it's something she EVENTUALLY gravitates towards as much as just regular cooking. there is a freedom and a forgiveness in cooking, because it doesnt have to be so precise, and i think she's very, comfortable there, post-canon, like there's a safety in that for her bc she knows how cooking operates and it's a comfortable place to work in and explore, compared to growing up and trying to figure out how she and her family and her memories operate. so she would prefer to do something she for sure knows. but I think sunny takes the precision required in baking as a DARE. a CHALLENGE. I think it might be frustrating for her at first bc I think she's a perfectionist like her mother but I think it's something she decides to work really hard on. She wants to be able to Do It. She wants to make good desserts. And bread. Especially bread. Bread is. Home and hearth and family and care and providing and safety and survival and surviving and. Tasty. AND they all tend to have a good chew, in some way. The chew is very important to sunny.
I also think it's funny if she gets like. Subpar bread or dessert somewhere, like at school, and immediately decides she can and should and needs to do better. I also have a headcanon that she makes her own hard candy!!!!! Clearly she would not stand for things like, taffy or mary janes or gooey caramel-y candies (i love a good three musketeer......but sunny probably would not...) but I think she loves hard candy and enjoys just flat out crunching it immediately upon eating it. She's not going to suck on candy.
anyway. oh she loves making sourdough bc of the pattern possibility, in making cut designs on the loaf before it bakes. and she definitely works really hard on perfecting the right crumb. OF COURSE she's big on texture balances and makes sure there's a crunch element in almost all things. lots of nuts, crispy pastry, the right amount of like......apples that mush and apples that don't mush as much, in a pie. she definitely likes making complicated things. oh I recently saw a video of someone SEWING sourdough before baking, like doing a criss cross on top with what I'm assuming was like, butchers twine? two notes here -- sunny does this, with great delight, and sticks herbs in the resulting spaces. she also tries to figure out how to do something gory with it for halloween. Bc my first thought was, oh that would do so well on food network's halloween baking challenge, if they, yknow, had the time to.....make sourdough.........
overall I think sunny lacks a great deal of fear or lacks the........presentation of fear. but especially in the kitchen, especially once she starts baking as well, she's not cautious at all. yeah she's gonna make the, what is it, that like 40 garlic clove soup or whatever?????? Klaus thinks it's great.
RELATED TO ALL THIS THOUGH???? she never eats mushrooms. to avoid long conversations she just lies and says she's allergic to them.
I'm still thinking about that condensed milk can, though. My whole entire heart. I think she goes out of her way to make everyone a gorgeous perfect birthday cake, no matter what. It is probably the only time she will Not put something crunchy in if someone would prefer no crunch.

2022 ended on probably one of the fuckiest notes for me.
I won't say this year was full of bad things or that it was the worst year ever, cause some good things came out of it! But it def got tough near the end. Had a really rough class in the fall that I'm ambivalent about cause on one hand, I liked it, but on the other it was very difficult and had a lot of problems. Really hoping it didn't do something to my GPA...
I've also just struggled a lot around fall with negativity and other stuff. I remember the days where people would tell me that my indulgence in oc x canon made them feel confident about their own oc x canon stuff and it was great knowing that people felt more confident in indulging in things that made them happy because I was also just enjoying myself. But over the years things got...rough. Everyone remembers the "good old" days of mary-sue hate and alla that, right?
Well, back when I was younger I used to be into Keroro Gunso a whole lot and I had my little "cringey" pre-teen/early teen oc that was just a purple Dororo recolor with an edgy black hat and scarf who wore Naruto shoes. I had the support of a lot of kind friends that encouraged me to keep doing stuff with this oc and Dororo, but one artist I looked up to in the Keroro scene did not hide how much they hated my oc. They would make fun of how my oc was so edgy looking and commented on art of my fankid of Dororo and my oc that she "Didn't know Dororo's kid shopped at hot topic" in a way that made it clear she considered ocs like this bad. And it super sucked! It sucked seeing how she would comment on my work in this way but praise my friends for their ocs. I felt like I was doing something wrong, even though I was just a kid having fun and interests.
Today I can look back on that and kind of laugh at the absurdity, but I am pretty ashamed to admit I had also become like that artist. Now, I never went to people's posts about their ocs and told them boldfaced how they were bad because I thought they were absurd when compared to the canon they were shipped with, but I did find myself becoming overly critical of people's ocs. However, all the negativity I've gone through at the end of this year has gotten me to realize how ridiculous it is to be that way. Oc x canon isn't about who makes the best oc to ship with the canon, or how accurate the oc is to the world they're a part of. It's about having fun and smiling at the thought of your favorite character being friends with or being in love with an oc you made because you enjoy the character a lot and want to have a good time thinking about them.
It's depressing that I also worked so hard to make good ocs later on in my life because of those incidents where people were so critical of my designs because they were "edgy." So ultimately this judge-y attitude towards people's ocs just leads to hurt, unhealthy feelings of needing to be "perfect/as accurate as possible," and it ruins something that is meant to be for fun and your own joy. We can have our tastes, but to say a person's oc or ship is bad because the oc isn't to our personal standards isn't really worth much. Taste is always subjective. This stuff shouldn't even be about who makes the better ocs or whatever, either. It's absurd, self indulgent, fun and nothing is won from being mean about how another person goes about their self indulgent fun and I am ashamed and embarrassed of myself for having had an attitude similar to the person who made me feel bad about my own fun all those years ago. Some might say no harm no foul cause I never actually went around telling people their ocs were bad or something but even just being such a critic was really damaging to my own though process.
It's fine to share your distaste of things with friends and to have a quick laugh or something about it, but I found myself doing it a lot, and I had been someone who felt wrong about laughing at others. In the past, I had a friend who would always send me "bad art" to laugh at and I would because I was afraid of her getting mad at me if I didn't (this person abused me a lot back then but I won't get into that) and to think years down the line I would be indulging in similar behavior it just fucking stinks to reflect on. I may not have been as much of a jerk as people who ran "bad ocs" blogs but my god, I still thought like one on occasion.
This got really long but I think the rocky end to this year just really opened me up to how silly some of the things I placed importance on are. I want to keep working on enjoying myself with others without being mean about pointless things. I don't wanna say that I want to become a passive person who allows iffy stuff just because I wanna be more positive or something, there's a lot of stuff in this world that deserves to be criticized and not be pushed aside, but when it comes to harmless things in life, like oc x canon, I just wanna get back to the good fun basics of it all. Not even just oc x canon but fandom stuff in general, too. Learning to see things with the lens of "this person likes that, and I may not, but it's fine and it's not impeding on my own fun" has been so helpful. Just not getting worked up and bothered about stuff that I can easily just scroll past (like ships idc about and harmless headcanons and I don't agree with) has been nice and essential.
TLDR: Just gonna enjoy my life and work on things I wanna work on and share good experiences with friends and not allow myself to get into behaviors that depress me and ultimately don't make any kind of changes to the things I was being a dick about.

Where did you get the inspiration for Of Fangs and Claws? And how did you choose who would be a werewolf and who’d be a vampire? Basically can you talk about the story because I love it so much <3
Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying it (and I will get around to updating it, I swear). And I can absolutely talk about it, I love to ramble on about my writing.
So, it’s been a while so it’s hard to remember specific details, and I’ve not ever really engaged with vampire/werewolf media (outside of one show I watched as a teenager, and like, youtube critiques about monster shows which I’ve never seen), so I don’t really have a clear cut inspiration. This is all going to be a bit vague I’m afraid.
But the main inspiration was definitely like, Halloween, in general. I’m a big spooky season fan and really wanted to write a Halloween fic. Vampires and werewolves seemed like an obvious choice for that. They have such different vibes and all that it's fun to compare and contrast them, and the idea of splitting the ghoul group in half to do that sounded cool. I also have my own ideas about how vampires/werewolves work and all, so it was a chance to put all those thoughts I’ve had bouncing around my skull to use (namely, I just wanted to write werewolves without all of that alpha, beta bullshit, god that sucks).
This may or may not have been around the time the first Dracula read-along was going on too, and while I gave up on that early on, it probably left me with vampires on the brain. Fun fact, I haven't gotten to it yet but vampires don't turn into bats in my story but into a pile of writhing leeches because I have a memory of a friend saying that was one of bram stoker’s original ideas that he discarded. I can’t easily find proof of that though so there's a chance I'm misremembering something. Regardless, I like the idea so much that it's vampire canon to me now. It's so much weirder and grosser than bats and honestly, fits better too.
The world specifically and a few small details kinda came from an original story idea that's been bouncing around in my years for years now but never fully taken form- funnily enough, Pat and Mike's adventure group is a big part of it, actually, though it works a bit differently in my story. Anyway, this was kinda my chance to feel out some ideas for that og story. I've still not gotten far with it, but I do have the mc figured out at least, (Briallen, her design is cool if I do say so myself, I like her a lot).
As for deciding who’d be what, it basically came down to wealth. When I think of a vampire, I think of giant Gothic castles and expensive jewels and dresses and ornate goblets full of blood- excessive wealth, basically. Vampires are practically metaphors for the rich, so anyone from a wealthy family in canon was going to be a vampire, no doubt about it. Also, vampires always seem like solitary, guarded creatures to me, so that’s why the Captain became a vampire. Besides, I needed to beef up the Button gang and thought Fanny deserved to have her bff with her.
In contrast, werewolves give off the vibes of being friendly, down-to-earth folks (maybe because I watched Wolfblood as a teen where all the werewolves are just like- otherwise very normal schoolkids, or at least that's what I remember), which just suited characters like Pat and Robin and Mary way better.
With the exception of Thomas, is was. I’m trying to remember if he was originally going to be a vampire, and I’m not sure. Out of all the characters, dramatic Regency poet Thomas seems the ripest to be a vampire, and I have a feeling I probably made him a werewolf specifically because of that. It just seemed too obvious, you know, and the obvious annoys me sometimes. It also let me make a more interesting backstory for him, so it was a win-win.
Same sorta goes with Alison, making her a werewolf with Button ties was a good idea to centre the story around. Also, I just like werewolves more, so writing about a character becoming a werewolf was more fun to me.
For the other characters, including [REDACTED] and [REDACTED], it was more a matter of what monster/creature haven’t I included yet? Jemimia became a morgen specifically because I wanted to throw in some Welsh monsters, and morgen- idk how to say this, but they’re very like, swampy in my mind. Like, with greenish skin and dark green hair, covered in seaweed or algae, and that just fits with Jemima in my mind. Margot and Rachel are water nymphs because.
Body is there and a bat because a) thought it would be funny to make Humphrey’s body an actual character, b) I just kinda wanted a Salem-esque (a Sabrina Salem) character in here because I like Salem, I think he’s a cool cat, and bat because vampire. He also works as a sort of red herring- like he’s a bat hanging around vampires, probably makes you think that all the vampires themselves can turn into bats too but no. leeches. :)
This was probably a rambly mess and I’m sorry about that, but I hope this was somewhat interesting.

THE FIRST HEARTBREAK: A REFLECTION ON THE FILM PRAYERS FOR BOBBY
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
The worst pain a child can feel is when their own parents hurt them. By the hurtful things a parent says, the child becomes unsure if they are loved by their parents. This eventually leads to the child feeling various negative emotions to the point it drains their mental health. Their self-esteem would become low, feel unconfident, unmotivated, and insecure. It is a type of heartbreak that no other relationships can compare and it would lead to a childhood trauma that would affect the child until he/she grows. Nothing hurts more than having to deal with parental issues.
This was similar to what Bobby Griffith experienced, who was deeply hurt that even led to suicide brought to the lack of support from his mother from his sexuality. Prayers for Bobby is a drama film directed by Russel Mulcahy. It was based on Leroy Aarons’ book with the title: Prayers For Bobby: A Mother’s Coming to Terms With the Suicide of Her Gay Son. The movie revolves around the life of Bobby Griffith, a gay teenager, who was a son of a committed Christian named Mary Griffith. Prayers for Bobby is a film that shows the struggles of a child who was unsupported,  unaccepted, and mentally destroyed by their parents.
This emotional film demonstrated how a 20-year-old, Bobby who became depressed brought by his environment and the blind faith of his mother. Even though Bobby moved out and lived with his cousin, his mother’s words still lingered with him until he left the world with her words, “I won’t have a gay son.”. Bobby Griffith was gay, but Mary Griffith, his mother was very opposed to his sexuality and forced him to become straight with faith. After his death, Mary began to reflect on her faith and what happened to her son. In the end, she understood her son and by then, she advocated for the gay community.
Moving along, the three themes that I think were important in this film were: Sexuality, Parental Issues, and Depression. To begin with, the theme sexuality, it revolves around with Bobby’s sexuality being gay and being unaccepted by it. Bobby had difficulties with his mother understanding his sexual orientation. He was eventually forced to attend counseling and turn to God so that Bobby could ‘heal’ because his mother thought he was sick. She also placed bible verses all over his room and called homosexuality a sin.
Eventually, it resulted into having parental issues, the second theme. It is preferably mommy issues. Because of how his mother treats him after finding out Bobby was gay, it created a broken bond between them. Parental issues can have damaging effects on a child. It happened to Bobby when he and her mother had a conflict in terms of his sexuality which resulted in a stray of their relationship as a mother and son.
Lastly, depression, After all, Bobby went through with his mother, it was no surprise that events made him depressed. Depression is a persistent feeling of sadness, anxiety, and hopelessness, this can be seen in Bobby. There was a scene where he moved away from his house and lived with his cousin, but he was still depressed because the pain and unacceptance from his mother still hurt him all the time. I chose depression as one of the themes because it was another “battle” that Bobby had to face other than his mother’s rejection of him.
The movie reminds me of my grandmother, who stood as a mother figure for me, and how hurtful her words can be. I recalled an incident where I accidentally dropped a glass that was not even used and was already old. I was scolded too much. I know her anger was valid, but her words were too hurtful, and say that I have not done anything good in our house. Days later, my aunt also accidentally broke a saucer and it was the only one left with the design it has. I was surprised and disappointed when my grandmother brushed it off. It felt unfair to me because I received cursed words when I broke a glass, while my aunt only received “Oh, okay.”. If I was the one who broke that plate, I would not receive the same treatment, I thought.
My grandmother’s unfair treatment still continues to happen and it affected my self-esteem. Her words stab like a knife. There are other things that happened besides breaking a plate, but all I wanted to point out was how my grandmother hurt me because of her having favorites and how she thinks she’s always right. She never understands that I get tired too. I do respect her, but sometimes I think she is one of the causes of my drained mental health aside from the relationship I have with my father.
Moreover, I have learned that a parent-chilhood relationship is an important part of the development of a child. It is important that the parent would be actively involved with the life of their child/children and be supportive of them. It is true that parents can influence children and it can be a long-term problem for the child to deal with and eventually the child would have to heal from it.
I hope my parents would know how to adjust and understand me, like how I would do it to them as well.

hiiiiii um marianne and seliph for the ask game please !!
of course they have blue hair and pronouns... it's actually funny how attached I am to blue haired FE characters compared to my average thoughts on other blue hair characters. Putting this under a cut bc you picked two characters I could talk about forever gjhdjkghd
Marianne!
My general thoughts & opinions on them - Marianne is one of the best characters in 3H imo, the character growth over the timeskip, the beautiful design, a good unit, interesting character. I do still wish the game had beast or dragon units though and she was one of them
Favorite moment of theirs - The Raphael support where she is just talking to birds "This bird just happened to be… speaking human." I love her... disney princess!
Favorite support chain - Raphael or Ignatz's. Obviously I like the Hilda one pretty well but I am very tired of people hating it to claim Hilda is abusive ?? lmao. so the discourse has soured my opinion on it
My dream FEH alt for them - new years! I'd love to see her in a kimono
Headcanons and/or ships I have - I like nonbinary Mari for self projection reasons ehehe. MariHilda is my favorite ship but I also like her and Leonie a lot. Edelgard, Dimitri, and Igantz are some others I like but don't think about very often.
Favorite art of them - The marihilda summer duo special attack art <3 the cipher card for her as a dancer is also beautiful
Seliph!
My general thoughts & opinions on them - my little guy.... my little dude... Idk they really just packed EVERYTHING into this guy. He's got the dead parents, he's lived his whole life stuck in a war, he's got a bit of the imposter syndrome. He's not the only FE lord to get sad over killing some of the enemies but I just... in the world of fe4 which feels so dark and tragic compared to the other games he is such a shining light !
Favorite moment of theirs - The hidden scene in the final chapter where he gets to talk to his parents for the first and last time :,)
Favorite support chain - I haven't gotten to the 2nd half of the game yet so I haven't read any of the convos <3 Idk probably one of the convos with Lewyn bc Lewyn moments.
My dream FEH alt for them - Valentine's Day! I want him and the whole family <3 Also the angst would be incredible.
Headcanons and/or ships I have - Hmmm I don't think I really have any I'm super invested in. Maybe once I finish the game ! I could explain the elaborate fe4 nft bro universe me and a couple friends have made (naoise and alec are into NFTs and sigurd takes emotional damage. this extends to the 2nd gen somehow) but I will spare you guys
Favorite art of them - Fuck it, I already did a readmore, so I'll post it! WAAAAAAAAAAH I hope that explains why I love it

Some Peter Jöback & Ola Salo Jesus Christ Superstar thoughts!
Negatives first: beforehand, I couldn’t really imagine Peter Jöback as Jesus – and, having seen the show, I’m afraid I still think the role doesn’t really suit him. Vocally, it seemed like he doesn’t quite have the range: he clearly gave it his everything, but it sounded like he was struggling with some of the high parts throughout the show, and near the end, he was having some trouble with the score in general. I’m not saying he was bad, I’m just saying I’ve heard others sing the role a way that sounds way, way more effortless. (A bit of that also goes for both Ola Salo and Janice, I got a vibe they weren’t at their absolute top vocal shape last night either, but unfortunately, Jöback was having the hardest time.)
What’s more, to me, Jöback didn’t really emanate that kind of magnetic charisma/energy that you’d expect from a character that’s repeatedly called a superstar. But I guess that’s a matter of personal taste! He’s of course a star in his own right in real life, so even if I wasn’t really feeling it here, clearly, some people are. Also, to be fair, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone getting the superstar vibe part of the role across 100% – but the other performers I’ve seen in the role have had these, for a lack of a better term, more stereotypical Jesus vibes going on, with the beard and the generally kind countenance and that sorta stuff. Didn’t really get a lot of that from Jöback, either.
Also, Anton Lundqvist as Herod. He was cringey and annoying and really made me wish the song would be over already, even more so than usually. Ugh. Next time, I wish to see some Alice Cooper level nonsense when it comes to that character, instead of just garden variety annoying! [Edited to add: I suppose the over-the-top “we’re making fun of the king” vibe of Herod’s Song must’ve had a different effect on Swedish audiences, likely somewhat redeeming the annoyance (in case you’re not a fan of the monarchy, at least)? It’s just that for me, as a citizen of the republic of Finland, it didn’t really hit anywhere close to home.]
Other than that, though, I liked everybody!
Ola Salo was a good Judas (and gave me the feeling that, had I seen him as Jesus back when he used to play that part, I would’ve felt those superstar vibes) – he was absolutely overacting, but in a big arena setting, I don’t think that’s necessarily a problem. His Superstar was simply delicious. They went all out with it, with the super campy golden jumpsuit and body paint, I was kinda giggling under my breath all the way through. Loved it.
I liked how Janice gave Mary Magdalene this very frustrated edge – acting-wise, she did what she could to give the poorly written part some depth. It was cool to see Simon Zealotes played by Linda Pritchard (all-female touring version of JCS when??) And I was of course all heart eyes for Patrik Martinsson as Pilate! I’ve been a big fan of his Judas since forever, so I’m super glad I finally got the chance to see him live, even if it’s a different role this time. His Pilate had a good mix of authority and inner turmoil.
I’m unsure what to think about the 1973 movie style framing, with the theatre kids arriving in their everyday clothes and picking their roles/costumes. I don’t really know what they wanted to get across with that, it felt more unnecessary than anything to me? But other than that, I think the direction (by Fredrik “Benke” Rydman) was pretty solid. Nothing especially unique or innovative, but nothing too silly or weird either. In short, it was a well-made production that’s a good fit for a big arena (especially when compared to my recent Så som i himmelen experience). Extra credit for Robert Hvenström’s light design, there were some really cool lighting moments!
Too bad that I didn’t really click with Jöback!Jesus, but I’m glad I went nevertheless. I got to meet some friends, and a bunch more people saw the show tonight, so Finnish musical Twitter is having a good time discussing the show right now. It feels so delightfully normal after the all the nonsense of the past two years. I’m thriving.

Emiya Alter & Mozart for the character ask me :D
Oh wow tumblr at my freakin notif for this XD so! this is super late! but here is my anwser for these two beans @maningrey0204
I'll start with emyia alter Fave thing- gods its hard to choose XD i think its the fact that he has a notebook to write things down. silly i know but, his memory is so bad and hes so nihilistic and pragmatic about it all, but he still writes down the important stuff to look back on later. least fave thing- yeah defiantly has to be his og design in jp, caused alot of backlash and kinda gave him a bad rap, so most people dont look deeper into him Favorite line- you know the line, where he talks about how in his valentine with the lifeline, where it'll suck, it'll rip up your hands, you'll bleed and hurt but he'll pull you up no matter what? yeah good shit, i rotate that shit constantly in my brain, i could ramble forever about his valentine scene honestly Brotp- voyager voyager listen listen this man who holds no hope for himself whos so jaded and cynical caring for this literal embodiment of hope the hope he doesnt have for himself but that he still fights for as a hollow hero of justice this man who made himself a weapon a tool a thing holding and caring for this tiny star child that was born from a machine and the hopes of humanity its GOOD opt- ive never really thought about it honestly XD but the line he has for cualter has me interested, so i could maybe see them as being two flavors of pragmatic dramatics notop- fucking kiara, no, stop it random headcannon- you can tell how bad his memory issues are by how many golden lines cover his body as hes walking around chaldea. also i dont think this is a headcannon but ive given him the nickname kit, in reference to the japenese pottery technique kintsugi, because hes strove so hard to become nameless, but, he still deserves to be called something, he deserves his own name unpopular opinion- is it unpopular to say i like him? XD like, i like him just as he is, edgy brooding behavior and all. i dearly want him to see hes something more than just a weapon but that doesnt mean i want to change him entirely other than that uhhh, i dunno, hes not a very popular character so beyond seeing people dislike his jp design and his attitude i havent seen much in the way of peoples opinions Song i associate with him- The Only Thing I Know for Real by Jamie Christopherson- its a song for i think metal gear that i just randomly stumbled across and it gave me *instant* emyia alter vibes fave pic- i like the summer ce with him billy and geronimo, it always makes me happy seeing him hanging out with people ------- Alright mozart time! Favorite thing about them- i love how unabashedly himself he is, usually when people think that theyre just awful or garbage that it comes with a sort of depressed outlook- and while he still needs some bonking on that thinking- there is something nice that hes just so, alive? about it all. im wording it weirdly but, hes both got confidence and no confidence in equal measures and its interesting least favorite thing about them- his silly fucking hat XD his outfit is fine but the *hat* why- Favorite line- i could probably wax on about some of the things he says to you and mash in orleans but, honestly? his valentines scene, i think if memory serves me its on the ce, but it might be in the actual scene, where he offers to play for you if you cant sleep. makes me soft brotp- sanson XD sanson is very straight-laced compared to his more, whimsical vibes, they work great XD its funny opt- listen listen, poly with marie and sallie, its good shit its fucking quality
notp- you know, i havent actually seen a ship that makes me like, recoil, then again i dont really go looking so let me just knock on wood right quick- but yeah, i dont have anything here, lets hope it stays that way Random headcannon- this man will wear cat ears without hesitation unpopular opinion- i dont, find him that annoying honestly? a bit yeah sometimes but we have worse in chaldea, hes not that bad, i like him song i associate with him- well its. mozart so XD anything by mozart. barring that its nyancat, he just has huge catboy energies XD favorite picture- local fucking musician has *all* the goddamn art made about him so i have plenty to choose from- id say my fave is the wolf one, where he has the wolf pelt on his shoulder? good shit so yeah! :D thats these two beans, thank you for the ask!!
