They may feel their younger son somehow lives simultaneously in the shade and under a spotlight.

“I don’t think anyone will truly understand what it is like to be Jobe. If he goes anywhere in the world, he’s Jude’s brother, he’s not Jobe.

Him having his own identity is something he desperately craves.

“On the final whistle, Jobe Bellingham collapsed to the turf, lay flat on his back and breathed heavily. Spent, frustrated and beaten, Sunderland’s No 7 had a most disappointing Saturday.

On the final whistle, Jude Bellingham was mobbed by his Real Madrid team-mates, his winning smile reflecting his winning role in a dramatic Clasico. Having scored the 91st-minute goal to secure victory, Real’s No 5 had a most entertaining Sunday.

Comparing Sunderland’s 1-0 home defeat against relegation-threatened Millwall with Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Barcelona could seem like a leap, but two games over 24 hours were bridged by the Bellingham brothers.

Jude, the elder, is having a ravishing first season in Madrid. Jobe, the younger, is doing pretty well at Sunderland, too.

For reasons of celebrity — and space — Jude is referred to in newspaper headlines by his forename (‘Jude pone el broche a La Liga’ was Marca’s on Monday morning), but the surname Bellingham is on his back. Jobe is often referred to as Bellingham at Sunderland but has the name Jobe on his jersey and when the tannoy announces the team at the Stadium of Light, he is ‘Jobe’.

As he picked himself up off the grass following a spectacularly drab game that even interim head coach Mike Dodds called “boring”, Jobe may have noted the contrast with the previous match he had been at — Real’s shootout epic at Manchester City in the Champions League in which his brother scored a decisive penalty.

Still, he got up and walked around applauding those who remained in a near-deserted ground. Some clapped back, but there is anger building among Sunderland fans at what they see as a season wasted after the attacking promise of the previous campaign. They have scored twice in five games and started with a back five at home.

Jobe was stationed in front of the middle three, hoping to break forward, for 45 minutes. In the second half, he was up front, leading the line. Such was Sunderland’s lack of creativity, he barely got a touch, never mind a chance to score.

But a 45th appearance of the season had been completed, an impressive tally when you consider a measurement even more significant than the idiosyncrasy of his surname — Bellingham was 17 when the season began.

He made his debut in January 2022 for Birmingham when he was 16 years and 107 days. He was the club’s second-youngest-ever player — only Jude had been younger. By the end of last season, Jobe had racked up 26 appearances for them; it gives the impression of experience, and it is experience, but only two were for 90 minutes — Saturday’s made it 21 appearances this season.

It is why Dodds described Bellingham last week as “a second-year scholar”, who will not be a first-year professional until next season.

“I have to bring it back to that,” Dodds explained. “There’s so much scrutiny around Jobe if he doesn’t play well. It’s unfair because he’s just so young and I don’t think people appreciate how good he is for his age.

“Because of his second name and the comparison, sometimes the over-analysing of him is unfair. Those are the cards he’s been dealt and he’s got to get on with it. I’ve had that conversation with him.

“Jobe’s scored seven goals, which for a second-year scholar, is unbelievable. He should be playing youth team football.”

Although Dodds is familiar to Jobe and to the Bellinghams — Dodds coached Jobe aged eight in Birmingham City’s academy — he reminded us that not only is Jobe in his first season away from his Midlands roots, Dodds is the third dressing-room managerial voice he has heard.

Tony Mowbray and Michael Beale were the others and as Dodds said, all three have selected Bellingham, who has been played in various positions.

Put these circumstances together and the boy who turned 18 in late September has been impactful and exciting — but also inconsistent, understandably so at his age.

At Southampton last month, for example, Bellingham received national attention for a beautiful swerving shot that swept into the top corner from 20 yards. He was praised for that locally as well, it’s just fans who follow every game also saw his error for Southampton’s opener.

Bellingham took to social media to apologise, which was unnecessary but a sign of the world teenagers inhabit.

At Sunderland, Jobe is part of a policy that saw the starting XI at Southampton become the youngest in the club’s 145-year history — 21 years and three days.

The pronounced emphasis on youth under the owners has been beneficial for Bellingham — and partly explains his £2million transfer from Birmingham at the end of last season — but there have been drawbacks on the pitch when experience has been so obviously missed. And as with the No 5 at Real Madrid stepping unforeseen into the No 9 role in the absence of Karim Benzema, Jobe has been ushered up front at a club who have been unwilling to spend seriously on a centre-forward to replace Ross Stewart.

Jobe’s versatility has been notable and, in the long run, educational. Asked recently about his positional preference, he said: “At the minute I’m just learning because I have no idea what position I am.

“I suppose it’s quite exciting in a way because I’ll find out as the years go on. It’s up to the coaches to figure out where my attributes fit the team best and I’m not arsed where I play really. As long as I am in red and white, that’s fine.”

Sunderland fans will like the last bit of that answer in particular and hearing Dodds say “he’s fallen in love with the fans, with the area — he’s so happy with the decision he made last summer” will appeal.

“It’s a perfect club at the perfect time for him. This part of the world will be forever in his heart. He’s completely in love and the Sunderland fans have been unbelievable with him.”

But the Jobe comparison in their collective consciousness is not with his brother, rather with his colleague Dan Neil. They saw Neil come through their academy, hit the ground running, then tire, and many were pleading for a rest before Neil got one.

On Saturday, the latest edition of the long-running fanzine A Love Supreme, on sale outside the ground, had a feature called ‘Hey Young Sunderland’. It reads: “Speaking of players who have needed a break, Jobe Bellingham was in the engine room alongside Dan. The 18-year-old has been almost ever-present in our team this season and everyone but the coaching staff is aware that he’s been absolutely run into the ground.”

It then asked: “Is he playing because of his surname?”

Sunderland will refute that and point out that Jobe has been withdrawn from England’s age-group call-up to get a rest. The Bellinghams may feel bemused — mother Denise lives with Jude in Madrid and father Mark with Jobe in Sunderland. They may feel their younger son somehow lives simultaneously in the shade and under a spotlight. Then again, even at 20, Jude has experienced some negative coverage in Madrid.

As with all ‘name’ players, praise and criticism tend to be excessive and Dodds said: “Jobe’s life is difficult anyway.

“I don’t think anyone will truly understand what it is like to be Jobe. If he goes anywhere in the world, he’s Jude’s brother, he’s not Jobe.

“Him having his own identity is something he desperately craves. As he gets older and gets more accolades and he does wonderful things in football, he’ll be appreciated for who he is.

“He obviously changed the name on the back of his shirt, so he’s desperately fighting to be recognised for him. It’s always going to be a battle for him, that’s the reality.”

Dodds said the Sunderland squad have helped Jobe settle “really quickly” and they “don’t discuss the brother stuff with him at all”.

And at Sunderland, they are concerned with Sunderland. Jude turning up in a club scarf at Hull City to support his younger sibling is cheered on, but on Wearside, if nowhere else on planet football, it is Jude who is the ‘other’ Bellingham.

And Jobe, everyone needs to remember, was 17 when the season began, a second-year scholar.

Disgaea 7 Complete announced for PS5, PS4, and Switch

Nippon Ichi Software has announced Disgaea 7: Koremade no Zenbu Iri Hajimemashita., a bundle edition of Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless that includes all previously released downloadable content and bonus items, as well as an additional bonus story and new gameplay elements that will also be made available for the base game. It will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch on July 25 in Japan for 5,980 yen (6,578 yen with tax). A western release has yet to be announced, but it would likely be titled Disgaea 7 Complete, given past Disgaea re-releases.

A new month means I'm that much closer to summer vacation~

What's going on this month?

6일 - 현충일: Memorial Day; a day to remember those who died for their country (this is a "red day"/public holiday)

6일 - 망종: barley harvest season (one of the 24 seasonal divisions)

10일 - 6.10민주항쟁기념일: Anniversary of the June 10th Democracy Movement; this was a period of nationwide pro-democracy demonstrations that lasted from June 10~29th, 1987.

A Brief Overview of the June Democratic Struggle [CW: police brutality, death] January 14th, 1987 - 21 year old SNU student Park Jong-Cheol was tortured to death by police because he refused to give up information about fellow activists. (The Korean CIA ran the "Anti Communist Investigative Office" where many activists were tortured.) May 18th - the Catholic Priest Association for Justice revealed that the government had been covering up the details of Park's death. In response, a nationwide protest in his honor was planned for June 10th. June 9th - as more people started protesting, Yonsei student Lee Han-Yeol was hit in the head by a tear gas grenade during a protest at Yonsei Uni. He became another symbol of the pro-democracy movement. Lee died from his injuries on July 5th and over 1 million people attended his funeral. June 10th - over 200,000 people attended nationwide demonstrations against the government's use & concealment of torture. On the same day, President Chun Doo-hwan (responsible for the Gwangju Massacre in 1980) announced the nomination of his ally Roh Tae-Woo as the candidate for the ruling Democratic Justice Party (essentially naming him as the next president). During the next three weeks, over a million people took to the streets to fight for democracy. June 29th - Roh Tae-Woo issued the June 29th Declaration (6.29 선언), where he promised democratic reforms such as direct presidential elections and freedom of the press. He ended up being elected as president at the end of the year, leading to the Sixth Republic (the current government). (The movie 1987: When the Day Comes is based on the events leading up to June 10th and is worth checking out)

21일 - 하지: the summer solstice (one of the 24 seasonal divisions)

22일 - 단오: the 5th day of the 5th lunar month; this used to be celebrated with traditional games & wrestling (씨름) and women washed their hair with sweet flag (the plant) water...probably some people still observe this day, but it's not a public holiday

25일 - 6.25 한국전쟁일: Day of the Korean War ("육이오 전쟁")

The Korean War was/is a war between South Korea & North Korea. It's also sometimes seen as a kind of proxy war between the US & China/the Soviet Union. It officially began on June 25th, 1950 with North Korean forces invading the South, and it "ended" when an armistice agreement (not a peace treaty) was signed on July 27th, 1953. So technically, the two countries are still at war and this fact influences the politics & culture of South Korea today. (For example, yesterday at 6:41 am the Seoul gov. sent out a "wartime alert" and sirens were blaring telling people to take shelter. Plenty of people just silenced their phones and ignored it due to being desensitized to news about NK missiles or whatever, but others worried we were truly about to be bombed. Then 30 min later another alert came out to say "sorry, false alarm" and life just went on as usual.) I know war is quite a complicated topic, but I recommend learning at least the main events along the timeline of Korea's liberation from Japan in 1945 up to the war and the ceasefire. People often mention how Korea developed into a capitalist hell Joseon 1st world country so quickly, but learning about the impact of the war and the conditions people endured really helps put into perspective just how amazing it is. I think this video is a good introduction/summary.

2023 Year In Review

So, here we are at the end of our first full year as an active podcast. It's been an interesting experience so far, doing this show. Growth is slow, but that's alright since we're having fun. With 27 new episodes and something like 40 new cats (lightning rounds count for a lot of extras), we had a lot of firsts this year!

For instance, we had our first legitimate usage of the Cat-Tana in Episode 16 - Making a Mugger with a Cat-Tana in Marvel Multiverse (Feat. James Anderson).

With a running bit receiving payoff so early in the year, it'd seem impossible to top, but we kept going, and our next episode had us help Cat McDonald promote her charity bundle!

We also did our first themed seasonal event with Anime Summer Season! Six back-to-back episodes, all using anime/manga-themed TTRPGs!

The final big first of the year was our first episode to receive more than 30 downloads in a 30-day period! That honor goes to Episode 21 - Making a Big, Strong, Focused, Dumb Boy in Warriors Adventure Game. And we can't really mention that without mentioning Twitch streamer FinnOcellaris, who recommended the game and then got everyone he knew to listen to that episode.

And last but certainly not least, we launched our Patreon this year, and got our first patron! Thank you for your continued support, patreon user TheZMage!

Now, onto some numbers:

Our most popular episode of the year was Episode 34 - Making a Familiar Face Around the Skate Park (in space) in Hard Wired Island, which was downloaded 37 times in its first 30 days.

Our most popular episode with a guest appearance was Episode 33 - Making a Biker Gang Leader You Can't Look Away From in Vampire: The Masquerade Feat. Meghan Murphy, (@murphypopart) which was downloaded 25 times in its first 30 days.

Our most popular Anime Summer Season episode was Episode 24 - Making a Cringefail Otaku Maid in Maid Feat. FinnOcellaris, which was downloaded 19 times in its first 30 days.

And finally, our overall most-downloaded episode of the entire year was Episode 18 - Making a Special-Ops Saboteur in Lancer, which has been downloaded a total of 54 times since its publication!

Looking Ahead:

It's a new year, and while it'll continue to be the same show, we do have some new goals!

First and foremost, while the themed event of the year didn't bring in any new listeners by my estimation, it WAS a lot of fun, so we're gonna keep doing it. Right now we're considering a fall theme. We probably know what that theme is but we've got plenty of time to decide on that so we'll hold off on announcing it for the moment.

We came close to this in 2023, but for 2024, if at all possible, I'd like to have exactly one guest per month. And to be fair, we're already off to a pretty good start. January will just be me and Austin, but from February to May, we already have recordings booked for every single month! (which you can see if you join our Patreon!) That's 4/11 months already covered!

I'd also like to try and do a better job of highlighting indie games. I know "big" is relative when it comes to any TTRPG that wasn't published by Hasbro, but even so, most of our attention typically goes to small-press RPGs rather than the REAL indies (whatever that means). So like. Indie devs. So long as your game has chargen, put it on our radar. Even if it's too short of a process for its own episode, we can make it work in a lightning round eventually!

Finally, I (Joel), am gonna try to be better about our video content! I signed up for Headliner and everything, and yet I still haven't managed to make a single shareable clip. That's on me, and I know that!

And for our other goals, we're gonna need your help!

Growth on this show thus far has been slow. We'd like to change that. And so, we have three calls to action for you, and we'd be thrilled if every listener that sees this would do one!

Timeline 1 August 2020 - August 2021

This is the first of the timeline posts I will post. As Tumblr wont let me post it all in one post. I'll put links at the bottom to the next timelines.

Read the timeline with in mind, most dates are confirmed by pictures, events that can be traced back to dates, and posts on IG or Twitter, it is possible the posting dates can differ from actual dates. I've put a lot of links in it, but not each interview/photoshoot etc. will be in it.

I created this timeline as I often get questions about when or where, what took place, hopefully these timelines will be helpful to keep track in the right way.

It starts in August 2020. Before that there's a timeline I posted leading up to how he went to Hawaii when the pandemic started for about six weeks and came back home beginning of May 2020. Not much noteworthy happened between May-August. He did his motorbike exam and interviews from home. Only as of August he started to be out and about again.

August 2020 Filming MiK around Scotland, several pics and in Edinburgh and videos and pics and fan pics

And September still filming around Scotland, fan pic and another and one in Edinburgh September 8, biking around September 15

While also recording audiobook Clanlands (September 21) and having a night out with the lads (Oct. 2nd) in London

And still filming MiK in October 19 and (21) photoshoot

October 22 sharing his fake phone number, October 29 live IG from home both from home

November 3 2020 Clanlands book release and on Zoe Ball show and this morning on November 4 (virtual) showing London - forgot his Q&A but apparently already working on TFY, a fan pic on November 14 in London, and recording a message for a fan from his filming location in London for TFY on November 18, as well as GMA on November 24

November/December 2020 Filming TFY (working title) some BTS, still had time for biking around London, and his switching of for Christmas on which day the OL fans get the message they will start filming in January

January 2021 makes an appearance presenting an award but obviously prerecorded, a video from his home on January 22nd of course with his whisky. Filming OL S6 started, some bts pics

February 2021 MiK release - lots of promo and interviews at home bashing Bridgerton, chicksintheoffice and live IG with Graham on February 14, release of MiK for US.

February 16 premiere To Olivia in which he plays Paul Newman. The movie was recorded in December 2019.

March 8 2021, photoshoot for Esquire posted on Twitter, promo for SAS RN from home and IG live from home on March 19

OL introducing new characters, announcing OL getting a next Season and BTS of S6 in production, all in March 2021

April 7th did a IG Q&A celebrating 3M followers from home, showing a roadtrip he did the week before. IG live with Graham on April 11 from home. Announcing MiK from home on April 15, will be releasing on May 9th for UK.

On May 3 2021 still doing promo for SS in his old house, but later that month he moved to his new place, first seen as a reflection in a spoon feeding a bee, his garage (May 8th), in the MPC gala video the full kitchen view (May 23), and showing off his garden in the archery pic on May 30. A fan pic on May 15 and 16 from Glasgow.

June 5 2021 OL S6 wrapped, had a wrap party at his home

The next day he went to London and posted a pic on June 7 2021 with SC on a terrace smoking cigars.

Same week he recorded a podcast with Alex Z in a sweaty studio and some fan pics confirming still in London on June 9

Wrapped recording MPC material with Valbo and AN on June 18, archery stories of AN on the deck and the garden, which gave away the address of the house and a fan pic at kcalkitchen in Glasgow

Shot Sassenach promo material in/around Breamar (fanpic on June 24) Fifearms and Mar Lodge and hosted his nephews birthday party on June 27 and a fan pic confirmed still in Glasgow.

Did a biking trip and shooting more SS promo with AN seen at Luss, Rest and be thankful amongst other places, the route we could follow looked like this up to June 29.

AN was home July 4th, SH was in London posted a video with Graham, met amongst others Kat Mcnamara (which picture she posted for his birthday a year later). While the Nics gave a tour of his house and using his stuff on the 12th of July, we already figured out he's not there himself, despite him posting a selfie on a bike in London on the 14th but as a latergram as he already was in

Mexico (July 2021) in Jalisco with Matt N and AN. He posted a pic himself on July 17 but was most likely already about a week in Mexico. After that we saw a number of biker-pics agave pics Tequila stuff and lots of fan pics, and seen by a fan at the airport on July 22 while flying to

Tulum with MN (fan pics on July 24 and 25 and Tulum gym pics) Matt posted leaving Mexico on July 31st while S went to

LA - August 2021, first pic posted by himself at the Chargers/Rams game on August 17, recording interviews live IG from airbnb, pics and promo from HH (Hollywood Hills and House). And SAS RN was released on Netflix, posting from the TV set in the HH. Tweeted about additional ADR for OL S6, hanging out with some bikers eating burritos

LEGACY PROJECT: FUTURE DREAMS S006 P1 ( DREAMERS TEAM )

SCHEDULE TYPE: TRIMESTER SCHEDULE RESTRICTIONS: Cannot be paired with another trimester schedule, unless stated otherwise

on JANUARY 16 morning, the DREAMERS TEAM is guided to a meeting room where most coaches, KIM HYUNCHEOL and SEO YOUNGJAE are already waiting for them. once everybody's seated, KIM HYUNCHEOL is the first to speak: "we're happy to announce that starting tomorrow, filming for FUTURE DREAMS 6 will begin.

right after this meeting, you'll get to return to your dorms to pack your bags, as you'll be moving to the DREAMERS HOUSE tomorrow!" not bothered by the girls' reactions to this sudden announcement, hyuncheol continues unimpeded: "since there are cameras almost everywhere around the house, we count on you to be on your best behavior. also, since it seems to not be clear enough; no guests are allowed in the dorms!" this time, he makes sure to look at all the girls before continuing on. "for the first several days, due to SEOLLAL HOLIDAYS ( JANUARY 21 to JANUARY 24 ), the coaches will only be giving you regular lessons and workshops. training hours will last from 9AM to 4PM, with a one hour break for lunch. from 5PM to 7PM you'll also be watching various LEGACY ARTISTS concerts as study material for stage performance. of course, to avoid any leaks, during your time in the house, you'll have limited access to your phone and only be allowed one 30 minute call per day. you'll receive your first official task on JANUARY 30, on the official FUTURE DREAMS SEASON 6 SET."

DREAMERS HOUSE

early morning on JANUARY 17, the DREAMERS TEAM is taken to their new lodgings. they enter one by one, at 10 minute intervals, for their reactions to be properly captured. while most cameras are fixed, and in various corners of the house, the crew will also be there to film different angles.

the front door of two story house opens to a large hall from which an even larger training room can be seen. the second floor boasts a large living room, a training room and a fully furnished kitchen with any ( healthy ) food the girls can dream of. there are also THREE BEDROOMS with 2 beds and ONE BEDROOM with 3 beds. each room has a bathroom connected to it. however, the most striking feature of the floor is the CLOTHING ROOM. at least once a week, the girls can expect either GIFTED CLOTHES or STAGE OUTFITS to appear overnight. currently sets of PINK AND GRAY TRAINING CLOTHES are displayed and waiting to be picked by the girls.

FUTURE DREAMS SET

EARLY MORNING on JANUARY 30, the girls are taken to CJ ENM for their first time on the FUTURE DREAMS SET. the set has been used every season, and as always, boasts a new set up this season: on a large white stage, situated slightly to the left, are seven white chairs - one for each DREAMERS - lined up next to each other. at short distance from those, a lavishly decorated glass and silver chair is on the right side, next to a pastel pink heavy curtain.

during the first several hours, hair and makeup artists are present to get the DREAMERS camera ready. SON NABI also joins the girls as they get ready. during that time, they also get to meet the official hosts of this season: HAN JISOO and LEE HANBYUL.

around 1PM, tapping of the show officially begins, starting with a show introduction by HAN JISOO AND LEE HANBYUL. the DREAMERS TEAM then makes their entrance and are introduced by the hosts. during broadcast of the show, snippets of the AUDITION MISSION, DEBUT BOOTCAMP and PREVIOUS SEASON OF FUTURE DREAMS ( when applicable ) will be added for a more detailed introduction of each girl. after the girls are seated, the hosts explain that the decorated chairs are for confirmed members of the group. the group will be constituted of:

CENTER x 1

LEADER x 1

CHARISMA or PERSONALITY or VISUAL x 2

VOCAL x ?

DANCER x ?

the possible positions appear on a large display screen behind the currently still empty chair. the hosts explain that each of the 4 first positions will also have a VOCAL or DANCER position. the number of VOCAL and DANCERS will remain a secret until the end. after they are done with their additional explanation, the screen changes again and the words CENTER and DANCER become highlighted; this is when SON NABI enters the stage from behind the curtain, introduced by the hosts as the first confirmed member of the currently unnamed new girl group. NABI is given the time for a speech to share her feelings towards debuting.

once she's done, before the hosts can continue on the curtain drops to reveal the CHALLENGERS TEAM who, right away, get into their INTRODUCTORY PERFORMANCE. once their performance is over, five black chairs are brought on stage so they can sit, facing the DREAMERS TEAM. during the broadcast, similarly to the DREAMERS TEAM, the CHALLENGERS TEAM members will be introduced through snippets of their AUDITION TASK and PREVIOUS SEASON OF FUTURE DREAMS ( when applicable ).

hence, the hosts reveal the first plot twist of this season; there are additional competitors and contestant results as groups and individuals will be taken in consideration to debut. if the contestants are wondering when the next plot twist is coming, they don't have to wait long; the display screen changes again and a "-1" appears next to CENTER and DANCER. furthermore a line strikes the CENTER position, indicating it as not available anymore. the hosts announce that anybody who ONLY picked CENTER as their desired position is currently in danger of elimination. during broadcast, the camera will pan to HAN CHORONG.

finally, the hosts reveal the FIRST TWO CHALLENGES of this season. first is ACTING CHALLENGE, during which the girls will need to adapt quickly to different sets. second, is the group challenge where DREAMERS and CHALLENGERS have a DEBUT SONG CHALLENGE face-off. the DREAMERS TEAM will be performing IVE's debut song 'ELEVEN', while the CHALLENGERS TEAM will be performing NMIXX's debut song 'O.O'. they are given 2 weeks to prepare, with performances set to be evaluated on FEBRUARY 15.

ooc note: unbeknownst to the participants, the higher representatives, KIM HYUNCHEOL, head manager of the trainees; PARK JEONGAN, current CEO; and LEE ISEUL, head creative director will be the judges on FEBRUARY 15. COACHES who will have worked with the girls and SON NABI, will also be backstage to monitor the performances. naturally, HAN JISOO and LEE HANBYUL will also be present for their mc duties.

ACTING CHALLENGE

on JANUARY 31, both the DREAMERS TEAM and the CHALLENGERS TEAM are brought together to a DRAMA STUDIO. while in the waiting room, the producer explains that the girls are to go in the studio one by one. once they are done with their challenge, they will be bought to another waiting room to avoid any spoiler. the task is simple; in the studio, there are 4 drama sets connected to one another ( check example HERE ), they have to walk through each set while acting a story out accordingly to the set surrounding them. each room is about 20 feet across. the challenge is one take only.

SET 1: a lush forest, clear sky above, with a clear trail ( that leads to the next room )

SET 2: a cozy living room, from the window, a gray and rainy sky can be seen

SET 3: a dark, abandoned and trashed restaurant kitchen

SET 4: a regular high school classroom

DEBUT SONG CHALLENGE

the lyrics sheet is available HERE. you will quickly notice that there's no distribution and only detailed qualifiers for each line. for those who picked LEADER, this is your first position related challenge. therefore, for part 1, KIM NAYOUNG AND NOH AREUM will be in charge of lyrics distribution for the DREAMERS TEAM, while LIU YIXI AND SEO MINSEO will be doing the same for the CHALLENGERS TEAM. the distribution being done by those muses will also be considered canon ic and not just ooc. it is strongly advised that everyone who is participating in this season should have their points sheets up to date so that the leaders can properly distribute the lyrics. also, do not fret, admin cloud will be assisting the DREAMERS TEAM and admin el the CHALLENGERS TEAM.

finally, don't worry if you have picked leader and aren't chosen here, there's still a part two ;)

special note: as we needed to wait for everybody's solo and audition results, the lyric distribution for 'POP! POP?' and 'ROLEX' aren't available yet. they will be made so with part 2. thank you for your understanding.

REQUIREMENTS

CHALLENGERS TEAM INTERVIEW: write a 300+ word solo about your muse’s reaction to the reveal of the CHALLENGERS TEAM as well as the events of JANUARY 30 as a whole. this interview portion, this will be filmed right AFTER the taping with the MCs ( september 30 ). please be mindful that these interviews are FILMED and that certain quotes from the solos might be used for either potential news articles or in the aired episodes. completing this will reward you with +4 POINTS TO DISTRIBUTE ANYWHERE and +4 NOTORIETY !

ACTING CHALLENGE: write a 300+ word solo about your muse going through the 4 sets, their reaction and the way they acted in each set. certain quotes from the solos might be used for either potential news articles or in the aired episodes. completing this will reward you with +7 POINTS TO DISTRIBUTE ANYWHERE and +3 NOTORIETY !

DEBUT SONG LEADERS only: completing the line distribution will award you +4 POINTS TO DISTRIBUTE ANYWHERE and +6 NOTORIETY !

Weezer shared the first track from the final piece of their SZNZ series of EPs titled “I Want a Dog.” SZNS: Winter will be released on December 21, the first day of Winter, as per the previous releases.

MOD SUN and Charlotte Sands joined forces on a new collaboration titled “SEXOXO.” The former singer’s new album God Save the Teen is set to drop on February 3.

Atreyu and Kayzo collaborated on another new track titled “Depression Season,” which was made in 24 hours. The acts previously worked together back in 2020 on “Battle Drums.”

TOUR ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Turnstile confirmed three shows in Europe next year, including a stop at the iconic Brixton Academy in London. The band will go on to play in Tilburg, Netherlands, on June 5 and in Berlin on June 7, respectively.

Reading & Leeds Festival announced the first round of bands for their 2023 event. You Me At Six, Don Broco and Chase Atlantic will be playing, alongside headliners The Killers and Billie Eilish, among others.

OTHER NEWS:

Press to MECO announced that they are breaking up. The band had been active for 11 years, releasing three EPs and three albums in that time.

Ice Nine Kills announced that they have teamed up with Z2 Comics once more for a sequel to their graphic novel Inked in Blood. The sequel, Inked in Blood II: Once Upon a Crime, is available to pre-order.

NOFX’s Fat Mike launched a new imprint from his label Fat Wreck Chords, called Bottles to the Ground. First on the roster is his new project Codefendants, who just released their new single “Death by Pigs.”

Jordan Martel Named Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week for Second Time in Three Weeks

The ECHL has announced that Wheeling Nailers forward Jordan Martel has been named Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week for the week of February 5-11. Martel, 25, continued his dominance of the Reading Royals last week, as he collected points in all three victories to help the Nailers match their longest winning streak in team history at 12 games in a row. On Tuesday morning, Jordan snapped a 1-1 tie early in the third period, then added an insurance goal less than five minutes later, as Wheeling was victorious, 3-1 at Santander Arena. On Friday night, the forward delivered the primary assist on Justin Addamo's winning strike at 3:21 of overtime, as the Nailers edged the Royals, 2-1. Martel put the exclamation point on the week on Saturday night, as he netted all three of Wheeling's goals for his second hat trick of the season in a 3-0 triumph in front of the third-largest home crowd of the season. His final totals for the week were five goals, one assist, and six points, and he now has ten goals, four assists, and 14 points in six head-to-head games against Reading. The Chicoutimi, Quebec native is now tied for Wheeling's team lead with 37 points on the season, and his 24 goals place him tied for third in the ECHL. Since being acquired in a trade from Utah on December 13th, Jordan has 18 goals, eight assists, and 26 points in 24 games. He has scored multiple goals in a game on four occasions, including two hat tricks against the Royals. Martel is the first Nailer to score multiple hat tricks against the same team in the same season since Bryan Ewing achieved the feat against Cincinnati in 2008-09. On Saturday night, the forward played in his 100th professional game. As a pro, he has 44 goals, 46 assists, and 90 points. This is the third time that Jordan has earned Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week honors in his career, and the second time that he has won the award with the Nailers this season. He is the seventh Wheeling player to win be named ECHL Player of the Week multiple times, as he joins Nick Petersen, Cody Sylvester, Derek Army, Cam Brown, Nick Saracino, and Patrick Watling. Jordan Martel and Taylor Gauthier become the first teammates to earn ECHL Player of the Week and ECHL Goalie of the Week in the same week since Utah's Matt Berry (player) and Joe Cannata (goalie) did so in November of 2019. They are the third Wheeling teammates to earn both awards in the same week, joining Nick Petersen (player) and Peter Delmas (goalie) in January of 2011, as well as Cody Sylvester (player) and Mike Condon (goalie) in March of 2014. On behalf of Jordan, a case of pucks will be donated to a Wheeling youth hockey organization by Inglasco, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Inglasco has donated more than 49,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities. Jordan Martel and the Nailers will travel to Utah this week to play a three-game series against the Grizzlies, with the first game taking place on Friday at 9:10. Wheeling's next homestand will take place on February 23rd, 24th, and 25th. The highlight game of the weekend will be Country Night on Saturday the 24th, which features a post game concert by Jason Michael Carroll presented by Generations. Practice Notes:

No practice at Riley on Friday due to IA Meet. No practice at NP on Monday due to coach availability and no practice on Tuesday due to a home high school meet.

Riley families please use door #22. This is the door on the northwest corner of the building and faces Fellows Street. If you are planning to stay to watch practice there is a stairwell that is adjacent to this door, and this will lead you to the seating area.

New Prairie families use door N18 to enter NPHS. New Prairie swimmers are always welcome to attend their corresponding group's practice at Riley.

IA Tim Welsh Invite/January 5-7/Elkhart Aquatic Center

Click here to see our entry as 12/17. This is a prelim/finals meet for all 11 and over swimmers. The expectation for our athletes is if they qualify they will compete in finals. The time schedule according to the posted meet letter is as follows:

Friday (Events #1-#10)

Doors open: 3:45 – our athletes should be at the door when it opens

Warm-ups: 4:00-4:50

Meet Starts: 5:00

Saturday and Sunday Prelims – 11 and over swimmers

Doors open: 6:45 – our athletes should be a the door when it opens

Warm-up: 7:00-7:45

Meet Starts: 8:00

Saturday and Sunday 10 & Unders

Warm-up: 11:00-11:45 – our athletes should be on deck by 10:45

Meet Starts: 12:00

Saturday and Sunday Finals – 11 and over swimmers

Warm-ups 4:00-4:45 – our athletes should be on deck by 4:00

Meet Starts 5:00

I (574-276-6057) will be the coach on deck for Friday, Saturday finals, and all day Sunday. Coach Carol (574-292-0553) will be the coach on deck for Saturday prelims and the Saturday 10 and under session. If you will be running late or unable to make it please text or call the appropriate coach.

USA Swimming Membership

We still have a few of our Group 3 athletes that have registered but will or already have turned 18. To be eligible to practice/compete with the club once they turn 18 swimmers need to complete the USA Swimming Athlete Protection Training.

There are several returning swimmers who have yet to renew for 2024. If your swimmer is currently registered and does not renew prior to 12/31/23 they will be barred from competing or practicing until they are registered. This includes not being able to compete in the upcoming IA Meet.

Here is a link to the document with instructions on how to register with USA-S. A few of our members have had trouble adding their swimmers once they created their own account. If you have trouble after creating a parent account, try using this link. If your swimmer qualifies for the Outreach Membership (free/reduced lunch at their school) click on this link. Remember, if you use this link you will need to provide documentation to me that your athlete qualifies.

Birth Certificates

If your athlete has never competed in a meet for SBSC (or another USA Swimming club) you will need to send me a copy of their birth certificate. The preferred way is to electronically send a pdf. If that is not possible, please email a pic.

CON IMX Meet/ January 19-21/Concord High School

This is our next-to-last regular season meet. The deadline to commit to this meet is tonight Sunday, December 31.

Team Apparel

The local swim shop in town is Milinko’s Scuba & Swim. This is a great place to find a good practice suit or pick up a spare pair of goggles.

We are also partnered with A3 Performance. You can purchase a logoed team suit directly from this site. Here is the link to the A3 Team Store. When your swimmer is old enough to purchase a tech suit (13 and over) this company is who I recommend purchasing from.

USA Swimming Guidelines - MAAPP/Safe Sport

USA Swimming issued a directive with regards to electronic communication and social media contact between coaches and athletes. Most of what is being implemented is common sense and falls in line with our club's policies. One new requirement we will need to adhere to is how your minor child communicates with all coaches. For several years we have asked swimmers in Group 2 and Group 3 to text/email their coach if they would be missing practice. Moving forward, swimmers will be instructed to include a parent on all communication with me or any of our coaches. 

If you are the parent of a Group 2 or Group 3 swimmer, and have never sent me a text before, please text me so I have your contact info in my phone. This way if I need to contact your swimmer about missing practice I can be sure to include you. My cell phone number is 574-276-6057.  I encourage all parents and swimmers to read the full policy. We are required to keep this policy on our website, here is the link.

Swimmers wanting to compete will need to commit to those meets. The deadlines are based on deadlines that were set in previous years. They may change once the meet hosts posts the meet information. When committing to multiple day meets, if the option to select the days you want is not available, leave a message in the notes section stating the specific days you would like to attend.

This is me.

The drama "xxx Occupation" (a sequel to "Daihyoin Kyukyukyukyukyukai") has already been announced.

We have been filming since the end of last month.

It will be 2023, exactly 20 years since i starred in my first drama, "Good Child's Friend.

I was lucky enough to work with Director Otani on "Occupy the Great Hospital" in the exact same January season. I think i mentioned here that the crank-up of the film was miraculously on the same day as 20 years ago. Exactly one year later. If we take "Good Child's Friend" as the starting point, it will be 21 years later. Miraculously, the crank-in date was the same day as 21 years ago. (According to Director Otani). It is a tremendous coincidence. And from the 18th of next monthSho Sakurai: Words to the Future Exhibition PLAYFUL! will be held from the 18th of next month. On the car on the way home from the filming of the drama, feeling even more battered and bruised than the last one. I am constantly making new text and minor revisions to the word exhibition.......... Hmmm.

A sense of deja vu.

It's the same as a year ago! After the hospital shoot...Every day, i build and organize sentences in the car on the way home. At the time, i had no idea that i would be repeating the same scenery a year later.......? You said that since the previous work ended the way it did, it was obvious at that point, right? It was different.

At that time, it was not beyond the realm of "I hope so.

That's why i am more happy about these days. What kind of work is this going to be? What kind of work is it going to be?

In the gameClear 1-1 in the game! or Clear 1-2! and so on.You know, like in the game...... is just like that.

(What?You know what I mean?)It's like clearing up the difficulties that come one by one.

Musashi-style, that's what it looks like.
