Will's husband, Hannibal Lecter, went missing nearly three years ago.

Yesterday morning, a man claiming to be Hannibal Lecter disembarked a plane in Washington DC.

He looks like Will's husband, talks like him, and everyone who interacts with him is convinced that the man is Hannibal. No one wants to hear Will's protests to the contrary. As the impostor takes up the reins of Dr. Lecter's life, Will begins to doubt himself. How could this man be the same he remembers? How could a stranger know him so well? When perceptions shift and Will is suddenly the one defending Hannibal's identity, the truth starts to matter less than holding on to the one person he's come to trust.

The entire Born Against album is this beautiful entanglement of cleverly placed words that paint the picture of pain. The earnest and sincere manner in which he sings about depression is so very powerful. I often use this song when I'm writing about a sad time in one of my character's lives and I personally relate to so much of what he is saying. There's this internal struggle raging on constantly when you live with depression. You never feel justified in being sad, sometimes you can't even articulate why you are sad, but you still feel it on such an overwhelming level that it can physically hurt at times.

(ran out of chars in last ask) also i was wondering if you had intentions of writing any more hannibal fics as your last post appears to be in jan? i am really interested how you might tackle a vision of a potential season 4/what you think would happen post-fall seeing how well you understand and write the characters.

There are SO many truly fantastic takes on post-fall Hannibal that I don't think I could come up with something better than what is already out there and interesting enough that I would want to write the whole thing. Some little snippets, maybe, but probably nothing beyond that.

I am mostly good for off the wall AUs - I have an outline for Will & Hannibal as rival funeral directors, and one with Hannibal as Elizabeth Báthoryory.

(I also think it would be funny to write them both having to attend a conference on the same carnival cruise ship and they start murdering people separately before each is found out by the other. I won't actually write that but someone should.)

For the record, and to address other anons: Another Man's Grave is not abandoned. I have had a series of major life events that has made writing difficult, especially something as complicated and dark as AMG.

Thinking about Venomous Naruto again.

Thinking about a little boy with fangs too big for his mouth that drip when he’s angry and catch the light when he smiles. Thinking about a child who can eat even the most deadly of poisons because nothing compares to the venom that pounds through him. Thinking of a monster with sad blue eyes and shattered glass in his laugh when he promises to prove himself, to do better, to be better than something he cannot control.

Thinking of another monster not as bad, perhaps, as he could have been. A monster with venom of his own and sharp golden eyes that see all. Thinking of a man, the last truly loyal of his friends for all that it earned him, tethered to the very village that molded him into what he is. The village that hated him as much as they needed him. A snake coiled and ready to strike. A monster that holds his head high and has long since stopped letting their hate cut him.

Thinking of those monsters meeting. Recognizing the beasts that lurked within them. Forming some mockery of a family much to the horror of those around them.

Venom laced smiles. Scales of iron to protect them. Each other to lean on.
