Introduction!
So, I realised that I never realy introduced myself on here.
So, I decided to answer some basic FAQs so you guys could get to no me better! I'm not sure if you even care tho
So let's start!
What is your name?
For the sake of privacy, you can call me M! Or simply seonghwastudy, either works!
How old are you? What grade are you in?
I'm currently 16 and so I'm in 11th grade.
Where do you live?
I live in India!
What classes are you taking this year?
As I'm an Indian in 11th grade, I'm taking the science stream, PCM and bifocal: Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Computer Science. But apart from that, I'm actually preparing to apply to an American University for Fall 2020 and so I gave the SAT exam in May 2019, GED exams in October and November 2019, I'll be giving the SAT again in December 2019 and I'm preparing for AP exams to give in May 2020. I'm giving 4 AP exams: AP Human Geography, AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics and AP US History.
What is your dream university?
I'm hoping to get into Penn State University next year!
Favourite study methods?
I like to take notes in class. Then I read them and the Barron's prep book at home while underlining key points. For APUSH, I'll make notes because my class notes are super messy hahah! Plus I have tonnes of different resources for APUSH that I want to combine together.
For AP Calculus and Statistics, I'll read the content review in Barron's and solve the hundreds of practice problems and frqs.
For AP Hugs I'll read my notes and the Barron's book and solve practice questions.
I also love making quizlet sets wherever required and studying them using the learn mode.
Lastly, I'll just make tonnes of senseless mindmaps to review all the information during exam time. I'll just grab a piece of scratch paper and scribble out all the information in the form of mindmaps that won't ever make sense to me in the future!
I learn the best by writing a lot so I make sure to write our everything as much as possible!
Do you listen to music while studying. If yes, what do you listen to?
Yes, I do listen to music! I listen to music when I'm doing any form of numericals, when I'm writing out notes or when I'm just doing anything that doesn't require too much brain power! I love listening to my playlist!
Sometimes, songs with lyrics are too distracting so I'll just listen to
Both are Kpop, yeah hahah I'm just Kpop trash
Favourite musical artists?
As I said, KPOP TRASH. I only listen to Kpop songs heheh
BTS, VICTON, Pentagon, Stray Kids (ot9 forever TT), The Boyz (ot12 forever TT), Ateez (MY ULT), Up10tion, VAV, Oneus, Got7, Jus2, TXT, Astro, Onewe, Kard, The Rose (GO GIVE THEM LOVE), Bolbbalgan4, Woosung, DAWN plus I occasionally listen to X1, SuperM, NCT Dream, Day6, A.C.E., Sam Kim, Jimin Park and I also have a tonne of songs from many more artists in my playlist.
T R A S H
How do you de-stress?
I don't really have a specific method or routine for destressing. I'm terrible at keeping a journal so definitely not that one lol. I just find listening to music and watching nice YouTube videos to be a good de-stressing mechanism for me. Probably not the healthiest but it works hahah! Also, spending time with friends and family helps me feel calmer and more relaxed!
Favourite studytubers?
I'm currently obsessed with tbhstudying's study with me's hahah! I also love studyquil, studioushailey, studytee, studyign, Mariana's Study Corner, mia ong, revisign and some others.
Apart from these, there are a couple of College Vloggers whose college vlogs are literally all you need in life to survive!
There's Yoora Jung, PaigeY, Holly Gabriel, alicedoesphysics and some others.
I also watch quite a few Korean study vlogs cuz Koreans study so much 😫 and watching their vlogs makes me want to study for the next 20 hours lmao
There's 작심 이주, LAMOON라문, Ryoko료고, HYUN현, SENSE센스, SEOYUN서윤, 달씨Darcie, 게인gain_vlog, HANBINI STUDYLOG and some more. Many don't have english subs, but honestly that doesn't really make much difference cuz you get the point anyways.
Yeah that's about it 🙃
I guess that's it for today. If you have any more questions you want me to answer, feel free to leave them in the comments and I might make a part 2 of this!
Have a great day!

AP Human Geography Masterpost
Tumblr media
Hi everyone! I have decided to create a masterpost all about AP Human Geography. I took this course this past year and got a 5 on the AP exam, so I felt like it was appropriate to share my experiences and tips with everyone taking it in the future. I hope you enjoy this and find everything useful!
The Exam
The exam consists of two parts: multiple choice and free response questions/essays. Let’s break it down:
The Multiple Choice Section: 50% of exam score
Questions: 75
Time: 60 minutes
Info: You may write in the exam booklet. You are given an answer sheet in which you must use a number 2 pencil on.
Tips: Pace yourself. Read the question twice, if not three times, and understand the keywords within. If you’re stumped, circle it and move on- don’t waste time dwelling on one question. Don’t skip questions- there’s no guessing penalty, so make an educated guess if you’re blanking out. If you have extra time, use it to check your answers.
The FRQs/essays: 50% of exam score
Questions: 3
Time: 75 minutes
Info: You may write in the exam booklet to outline and annotate the question. Use the lined paper to write your final answer. Label each answer with its corresponding question number (1, 2, or 3). You must use a black or blue pen. If you cross something out, it can’t be graded.
Tips: Take 25 minutes per question. 5 minutes to outline, 2o to write. Read the question at least 3 times, and really understand it. If you have extra time, use it to add more detail to your answers and edit. Be specific. Remember to use lots of content vocabulary and think spatially. Use examples you can elaborate on. Only write what’s necessary- graders don’t want to read what they don’t have to. You don’t even need a topic sentence. This isn’t a super-formal, 5 paragraph essay. Just write down what’s necessary.
For more information, this page is really helpful!
Tips
Maps are crucial. Believe me. During every test, you’re always going to wish you took more than one glance at that one map. So make it a priority to really understand and learn these maps! Remember, you’re thinking about geography here- so maps are going to be your best friend. Find methods that work for you to remember these maps. If you’re a visual learner, just looking at the map can help you tons. My friend who is a visual learner set an important map as her phone lock screen for a few weeks before the test and it really helped her! For me personally, I’m more of a kinesthetic learner, so I found it very helpful to physically draw the map with lots of color-coding. Long story short- learn those maps!
Learn as many vocab words as you can. You can use my quizlet- just trust me on this one, okay? Your teacher’s tests + quizzes will likely revolve around these vocab words- in fact, there may even be a couple of questions that simply ask you to define a word! Even if this isn’t the case in your class, they’re important to know for the exam. When writing FRQs, you want to use as much content vocabulary as possible to show your proficiency in the topic. If you know more words, you can use more words! (duh!!) So, you should definitely take the time to learn these.
Review books! They’re going to be your best friend! If you don’t want to pay for them, you can get pretty cheap used ones on eBay and Amazon. I personally used the Princeton Review book and loved it, but I had a lot of friends that used the Barron book and scored high as well. I also just stumbled across this free online review book- it doesn’t have any practice tests, but it looks like it has tons of outlines and such. It has good reviews on Amazon, and although I can’t vouch for it myself, give it a try!
Remember, you’re looking for the why of where. While answering MC questions and writing FRQs, always remember to think about the why of where and to think spatially. Chances are, during the multiple choice section, you’ll stumble across a question you don’t know the answer to. Don’t panic! Using spatial analysis to make an educated guess is better than blindly guessing C.
Think spatially, always! Find ways to incorporate spatial thinking into your everyday life! By discovering connections between the textbook and your experiences, you’re strengthening your understanding of the topic and giving yourself personal examples to use for essays. For example, whenever I passed by “trending” neighborhoods in my city, I always thought about gentrification and New Urbanism. Guess what? It was an FRQ!
Always think about FRQ prompts. While reading, taking notes, doing practice tests, learning words, etc, etc- think about FRQ prompts! Remember the keywords used in FRQ prompts: describe, discuss, define, analyze, give an example, explain, compare, contrast, and assess. Using these words and the concepts you’ve learned, compile some ideas of potential FRQ prompts. Thinking about them will help you answer them better! (If you need ideas, take a look at these past prompts.)
Consume current events + media. Watch the news, read Twitter moments, take a peek at your local newspaper once in a while- however you consume your news, do it often. APHG revolves around current events and how they are incorporated into the world spatially- so the more you know, the more options you have for examples for FRQs.
Practice, practice, practice! I couldn’t tell you how many practice tests I did before the exam. Countless FRQs- fun fact, College Board releases past FRQs for you to use and practice with, and you can find dozens online! You can also find tons of practice MC questions online and in review books. I recommend taking the MC section, whilst of course timing yourself- you want to make sure you don’t run out of time during the real exam- and then afterward, checking your answers and revising the ones you got incorrect. After that, determine which topic that question falls under and tally up how many questions you got wrong per topic. It will give you a good idea of what you need to study & how much! Overall, just try to take as many practice exams as possible to really grasp the test. They’ll become easier and easier with time!
Resources
Vocab Flashcards by me!- Feel free to use them and share them, just please give credit :-) these have almost every single APHG vocab word in them! They’re divided up by the units my teacher did, so if they don’t match up with yours feel free to customize them however you’d like.
iScore5 App- The best $5 I’ve ever spent. There are a few typos, but this app has everything- flashcards, practice questions, and even some FRQ prompts with answers. It makes it super easy to study whenever you have free time- and you can’t use the excuse that you forgot your exam book at home, because you have it right there on your phone!
Albert.io- So, this does cost money- but it’s a great investment. (Edit: I think it only costs money to view the answers- which in my opinion is super important! I’m not totally sure though- someone lmk in the comments!) It has tons of super great and realistic MC questions and some nice FRQs.
And that’s about it! If I forgot anything, feel free to add on in the comments section, and don’t forget to reblog this/share it with all of your fellow APHG study buddies! I hope this is helpful to at least some of you, and I wish you the best of luck!

Best AP Psychology Review Books
We will help you score 5 on your Psychology AP Exam
AP Psychology Exam Review - Introduction
At StudyAPExam our team of experts would like to focus on books that can potentially get you a 4 or 5 in the AP Psychology exam. We would also like to list AP Psychology Textbooks that would enable you to learn AP Psychology exam material in a short time period.
Our team of experts would like to ensure that you have access to AP Psychology textbooks both covering primary and supplementary materials for your AP test.
Interesting fact about this exam is that we haven’t seen it change much in a long time. Due to this, some students believe it maybe an easier exam to prepare for, however, word of caution that you should always spend time studying for this exam like any other.
To prepare for AP Psychology test, here are our book recommendations.
You will need these books to score a five on your AP Psychology test.
Are you ready to get into this? We have collected just enough information to help you score high on your AP Exam, so relax!
The AP Psychology exam consists of two sections.  This exam is also considered to be one of the easiest exam to pass, however, our panel of experts recommend at least allowing two weeks to prepare for this exam.
AP Psychology Exam Information
Duration
Section I
Section II
Additional Info
Duration
Duration of AP Psychology Exam is 120 minutes. Section I would take you the longest time to complete with 1 hour 10 minutes and Section II would take 50 minutes to complete.
Section I
The first section of the AP Psychology exam is multiple choice. There are 100 multiple choice questions and you’ll have 70 minutes to answer them.
If you can breeze thru these questions quickly, you will plenty of time to tackle the next section which is time consuming.
Section I counts towards 66% of the overall exam score.
Section II
After the multiple choice section you’ll have a 10-minute break.
Following the break is the Free-Response Section. This section consists of two free-response questions and you’ll have 50 minutes to complete both of them.
Unfortunately don’t get a chance to go back thru earlier section of multiple choice questions and review them, so hopefully you had done well on those questions already.
Additional Info
The good news is that free-response is not quite the same as an essay. There’s no need for introductory paragraphs, smooth transitions, beautiful prose, or weighty conclusions.
Each free response question presents a scenario followed by a list of terms and your job is to explain, using examples, how those terms relate to the situation in question. This can usually be done in just a few sentences for each term, so you won’t need to write pages upon pages in order to get full credit.
As long as you make it clear that you know the term and you correctly explain how it might relate to the prompt you should be all set.

AP Psychology TextBooks - Recommendations 2018
# 1 AP Psychology TextBook 2018
5 Steps to a 5 AP Psychology Book 2018 – McGraw Hill
PROS: Our team of experts recommend AP Books that get you ready for your specific exam within a short time period. In addition our goal is ensure you get a 5 on AP Psychology. To keep that in mind, our recommendation provides both primary and supplemental resources.
AP Psychology Textbook, you should take a look at McGraw Hill publication 5 Steps to a 5. There is a lot to like about this book, but to begin with if you are looking to quickly be prepared for your exam, this book is the book to read.
Most of the books from McGraw Hill cover clear and helpful introduction, however, in this case particularly 5 steps to a 5 for AP Psychology exam, scoring, format and content is clear.
Our panel also likes the study plan that provides additional information to keep you focused regardless of your studying style. With study plan, you can prepare for AP psychology exam in a more efficient manner. Also, we like the style which is easier to understand along with two practice exams at the end.
With this book you get test prep guide that matches the actual exam syllabus and online help to include three test.  You also get two practice tests with the book itself.
CONS: One thing to note about these practice tests is that they tend to be easier just like the exams provided on the College Board ap psychology online resources. It is condensed for the AP Psychology exam, so if you need details make sure you also review our unofficial resources.

Cracking the AP Psychology Exam 2018 – Princeton Review
PROS: This book was fair in terms of quality compared to other Princeton’s Books. Even then, this is a good and detailed study guide on the year’s topics.  In terms of learning test taking strategies, this is one of the better books.  Like many other Princeton books, content is good, yet it doesn’t have the level of detail covered compared to other books.
Give yourself enough time and along with another book, you can definitely increase your chances of scoring 5 on AP Exam. Book is engaging and you see some humor, but we would rate this below compared to McGraw Hill Book AP Psychology Guide 5 steps to a 5.
Overall, we consider this book to be a good guide that provides comprehensive content reviews. Book was recently updated and includes the latest in terms of what you might need for 2018 exam. Also, AP Connect that provides online portal can be anther great resource to prepare for the test.
With 2 full-length practice tests with detailed answers and practice drills you will be ready quickly. We also like guessing strategies and tactics when you are unsure about an answer.
CONS: Tests are rather easy compared to actual AP Tests, but instructions are not very clear.  Also, make sure you give yourself time to read it.

Barron’s AP Psychology Book 7th Edition
PROS:  Barron’s guide offers content and test questions that are also beneficial and reading in conjunction with McGraw Hill 5 steps to a 5 AP Psychology textbook can get you 95% ready for the exam.
In addition to being an additional resource Barron’s provides three full length practice exams with an additional diagnostic test. Barron’s book has 15 multiple choice practice questions as well, which is useful for reviewing specific topics that you’re not sure about instead of having to take a full AP Psychology test.
So, this book is great book which covers almost everything you need once combined with McGraw Hill AP Psychology Textbook. There are some chapters in this book that require memorization, so you can go back and review them later. As an option you can also obtain Barron’s AP Psychology Flash Cards, if you are in a hurry or make your own labels.
You also get a CD-ROM with this book which also provides an additional full-length AP Exam to get you prepared for AP Psychology exam.
CONS: Barron’s book remind  you what a book should really look like and some students don’t like this. So, this book is written in a format which includes long paragraphs, which can be hard to follow.

Used AP/SAT/ACT Prep Books
Hey, everyone! I’m PJ, and I’m looking to sell my old AP/study books!
Subjects I have are:
ACT Prep (Kaplan)
AP Calculus BC
AP Human Geography
AP Statistics
AP US History
AP World History
General Math
Geometry
Latin
Old SAT Math
SAT Prep (Barrons)

If you’re interested, message me! I can provide you with more details about the book companies and years. Most of the books are in excellent to new condition (I opened some of them literally once or twice, oops), and the others are in at least good condition, but I can provide you with pictures.
Please have parental permission if you’re under 18, because you would have to provide me with your address! You’d also have to pay for shipping, and I’m accepting that through paypal!
