What if king Henrik managed to steal Malleus's egg after defeating Meleanor?
The main point is that the egg WOULDN'T hatch because it needs love (and even in canon it took a couple of centuries to hatch, despite the presence of Lillia and Maleficia).
So after a few tries, he discards his plans and keeps the egg as a trophy. Years pass and a five year-old Silver finds the trophy room while playing. He stumbles into the pedestal holding the egg, but manages to save it before it falls.
The child then senses a tiny heartbeat, and realizes there is a baby inside the egg!
The egg hatches immediately. Baby Silver loved it at once (the way he did once upon a dream).
And that's how we get a Dragon Prince journey (sorta).
After the dragon hatched, Silver went to talk with his animal friends to see if they could help (he loves his parents, but he couldn't just tell them he went to the trophy room to play, some instinct of his was also telling him they couldn't be trusted).
He left the little dragon under the care of a mother bear and went to the library to see if he could find anything. He came across a few old books from before the Silver Owls that described the Draconias (the little prince was so excited! His dragon friend could become a friend friend! He didn't have any friends besides the animals! And the dragon was even a fellow prince!)
But first things first! His dragon friend needed to meet his actual family, they were probably worried sick! So he grabbed a few maps, marked out the closest fae castle, told his parents he would go play with the animals in the woods and left.
The trek was very long and dangerous, but the entire forest was on his side. Baby Silver kept talking to Malleus, explaining life as a prince, introducing his animal friends, and trying to find out if he liked to eat berries.
They avoided war-stricken areas and managed to reach fae territory. And that's when things took a turn for the worse.
Henrik and the Silver Owls found them. Apparently, the egg was missing and a search party was assembled to follow its magical traces. Baby Silver didn't know that, and went to greet his uncle, saying that he was helping out a friend find his family!!
Henrik looked at his nephew, then at the dragon, and went for the kill, literally. The kid couldn't even defend himself, as his uncle cut him down with a simple strike (dawn knight was at home).
And that's when baby Malleus's magic blew up.
A snowstorm of cataclysmic proportions struck, complete with fire tornados and lightning. At the center of it all stood two children, the tiny Silver that was bleeding out, and Malleus, who had taken a human form and was trying to close the wound (he changed forms because he was scared and emulated the only thing he could think of as strong and protection, and that thing was five year-old Silver). Meanwhile, all of the animals formed a protective circle around them.
Luckily, reinforcements soon arrived. Both Lillia and Maleficia came (that storm could only be a Draconia's doing, they would NOT lose the egg again). They made quick work of the rest of the Silver Owls before rushing to Malleus's aid.
The animals let the faes though, as if they knew the dragon had finally found his kin. But Malleus wouldn't let go of Silver, even when the kid started telling him "Look, we found your family!! You're safe!", smiling despite the pain and looming death.
With the use of "Far Cry Cradle", Lillia quickly explained the situation, and the faes made the decision to save the human. They had a much too big debt with this child, who was so innocent it hurt.
They were also keeping the human. If that despicable man was his UNCLE, then no way in hell were the rulers of Briar Valley going to give the child back to his family. It would be a disgrace to the Draconia family.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, there a a few ways this AU could go.
1. The faes weren't able to save Silver. They create a monument in his honor and he becomes the only human they respect. Relations with the Silver Owls may improve now that Henrik is dead, if they can convince Dawn Knight his son died to save Malleus.
2. The faes save Silver, who lives in Briar Valley until the end of his mortal lifespan, acting as Malleus's big brother and knight. The Silver Owls are angry, but eventually come to an agreement once they realize there was no mind control involved.
3. The faes manage to save Silver, but the wounds were so grave that he had to stay in magic stasis for a few hundred years. Receiving the BOTW Shrine of Ressurection treatment. Due to the nature of the magic, he lost his memories, got silver hair and became sleepy. He later wakes up and becomes the Silver we all know and love. Malleus still sees him as the older brother, but thinks that now it's his turn to protect the human!
Lots to say about Ahsoka but for now, I wanna talk about Thrawn. After Andor I knew this would be a problem, because it was a problem back in Rebels too.
Thrawn isn't built for these stories. During Rebels, they just put a mask of competency on him while still handing him L after L. "These losses are all part of my plan" "The rebels escaped but I meant for that to happen" ect ect. Just thwarted by the scooby doo gang. Cause let's be honest the rebels crew aren't exactly strategists.
Then in Andor, we get competence. Not brilliance mind you like Syril was still a buffoon. But the ISB came of as so threatening just because they were able to do their jobs without slipping on banana peels. We've now seen how dangerous the empire can be when they crack down and try.
But we're talking Thrawn. Whatever the ISB are? He should be playing in a different league. Competency vs sheer genius. I mean after all this entire season was about how dire things would be if Thrawn made it back to the galaxy.
And what do we get? "Oh these are acceptable losses, oh they won this round but that showed me their flaws. Oh we don't want to waste our precious resources now do we" Proceeds to throw away a few dozen troopers and a bunch of tie fighters. It's the same as it was in rebels. A mask of false threat over just another imperial.
If I'm a normal person watching this show, and have no concept of rebels, much less the heir to the empire trilogy, I can't imagine they get the sense that Thrawn is a big deal at all.
Lying in bed thinking back on the Earthspark episodes and musing on the small things like how Wheeljack doesn’t have the Ghost Insignia yet Arcee does and how Spike Witwicky was in the G1 style flashback and how the President is a woman and how-
RotB mirage + the lineart bc I like it a good bit.
First time drawing this character and finishing it, so I’m still figuring things out. Anyway I love him so much his relationship with OP is very interesting to me and it’s a dynamic I don’t think many things have explored and not really transformers? Idk how to explain it. Like OP doesn’t seem to really like Mirage but he will defend him to the others. Like he isn’t upset with Mirages plan because it’s dumb and Mirage isn’t good at being quiet but because it includes a human. I don’t think he doubts Mirage’s abilities but I also don’t think he really enjoys his presence.
He cares about Mirage, but he doesn’t outwardly express care to him the way he does towards the others. But also I interpreted his change at the end of the film where he tells Noah to run and let him be sucked into the hole was a last ditch attempt to try and save both the human and what remained of Mirage’s body. He doesn’t want Mirage to die but he is annoyed with him.
But also his “death” is horrifying if you think about it for more than ten minutes. Like bro had to rip his body apart past what it was meant to do after he had multiple parts of it shot off, including a leg if I remember correctly. That’s a really shitty way to die.
I think OP cares about Mirage and he definitely wants him alive but he’s also sort of perpetually annoyed with him. He doesn’t want to go with Mirages plans and is much more dismissive of him than he would of been with Bee or Arcee.
nearly finished with Armada and lowkey WHY is Unicron so got damb horrifying. whyd they have to do that and how did they do it so WELL
#g1's portrayal made it so you could understand just how limitless and powerful and (to tfs especially) incomprehesible he is#but ARMADA made it physically impossible for this giant robot to be a clearly cut giant robot#and in doing so really pushed the notion that Unicron is still to some extent mechanical but so completely Other from cybertronians#he's organic he's inorganic he's the moon he's omnipresent he can summon spatial anomalies he has hallways that look like arteries#(spoilers from here on out) he both is and isn't Sideways like how Jesus both is and isn't God which I think fucked with me the most#because when Sideways told Thrust: 'those who serve [Unicron] will be rewarded and those who stand against him will know his wrath' or smth#in the end the only person who was 'rewarded' was Sideways. who was Unicron anyway#Unicron was never going to reward anyone. and those who stand and fight only make him stronger BY fighting.#g1 gave us Unicron the Unfathomable but Armada gave us Unicron the Inevitable. Unicron the Insurmountable#and THAT is why Armada Unicron scares the piss out of me. g1 Unicron was a transformer god but Armada Unicron is a GOD god and they SHOW it#the kind of self-serving omnipotent force of chaos and destruction and death that haunts the narrative from the very beginning#and for a kids' show they pull it off SCARILY WELL#maybe that's another part of it. the entire show is so obviously curated towards toy sales EXCEPT how they handle Unicron#and that also works to make him feel distinct and unfathomable. in a meta sort of way. i like that
