reading Hector Guimard's wikipedia page and thinkin about how incredibly sad it must be to design so many beautiful art nouveau buildings and then to live to see most of them get demolished or remodelled beyond recognition

You finished getting ready, wearing light clothes to try and battle the scorching heat that decided to finally come down. You walked down the empty opulent hallways, walls lined with extravagant paintings. You heard a familiar sound of a dial telephone ringing from the dark oak double doors, pushing open the door to see a room mirroring a library.
A chandelier hung off the ceiling that depicted the latest swirls and elegance, rows and rows of bookshelves. Your hand grazed yet you decided to grab the receiver, holding it against your ear and grabbing the stem and pressed your lips closer to the mouthpiece.
“Hello?” Your eyebrows knitted together in frustration. “How were you able to get this line? I am not going back today.”
You paced in small circles around the library, you saw them gesturing to the phone. Your hands let go of the receiver to let them continue the conversation with him which you decided to take the time to disconnect and you opened a book to read but the pages weren’t cut; they must not read often. You faintly heard the subtle remarks that they gave to him but you knew that he would always find a crack and open it more while roughly putting back the receiver on the holder.
Their footsteps trailed closer to you as they poked their head in the row that you were in with a hand on their hip, then started adjusting their cufflinks.
“Let’s go for a drive?” They suggested. “A drive will do us some good.”
You agreed to go through with a drive with a boiling sun whose rays felt that it would melt your skin off your nervous bones. It was somewhat going well, they had asked multiple times if you wanted to go shopping since it seemed that they had time to spare but you had declined the offers.
You used a handkerchief to cover your nose, trying to not breathe in the rancid stench of the sewers that seemed to be amplified by the boiling sun. The drive that ended up in the beginning, your hometown. The entrance was somewhat well taken care of and it still reeked of the elegance that you hadn’t missed.
“What are we doing here?” You asked.
“I wanted to bring you back home to present myself to your parents.” Their eyes stared straight ahead, not even glancing at you. “For when we marry.”
“What?” You stopped fanning yourself with your hand to look at them. “Do you hear yourself, Ray? Can you drive us back?”
The sound of whistling wind was something that you had gotten used to in the forced drive back to their home, you saw their tightened grip on the steering wheel. Your eyes looked at the roundabout as it had been filled up with a familiar car that you knew too well. Ray helped you out of the car, your eyes noticed the crooked frames of the hallway and the remains of a cleanup from a shattered vase as the paintings seemed to be hanging off a thread.
“Stay here,” they said. “ I will be back to figure out what happened.”
You crossed your arms, waited till their footsteps became distant echoes down the long hallways and followed the remaining coverups of a destruction that led to a dark oak door which had a small opening, your eyes winced at the sudden brightness from the lightbulbs but noticed who sat on the pink striped cabriole.
“I told you to stay there, dear.” Ray’s footsteps hurried down the hallway, grabbing your shoulders to face them. “Why couldn’t you listen to me? You could have gotten hurt.”
A subtle cough escaped his lips which you pulled away from them, stepping into the lounge that seemed to be decorated with lesser tastes. The room seemed to desperately mimic the insides of a hotel room that hadn’t been cleaned in days or weeks but it had bits of elegance that couldn’t be hidden despite the filth. The ashtray held fresh butts of cigars which rolled your eyes since it seems that he would later ask for a light or for a cigarette from your golden case tucked in your pocket.
You sat in the floral settee, your trembling hand tightly gripped the cushions from the armrest that seemed to shatter in your mind. Your free hand held a small chunk of ice wrapped in a small towel and pressed it against your neck that was drenched in sweat. Ray stood behind the floral settee, their hands rested on the wooden frame while glimmering rings decorated their fingers.
“Why are you here?” Ray broke the silence and looked at him. “How did you get in here?”
“To get back what is mine,” he responded. “They’re married to me, remember not to you. A bootlegger. I was let in clearly but this tiny escapade will end now but how unsightly for you, Ray.”
“Bootlegger?” You looked at them with confusion then to Gerald. “They’re no bootlegger, they just own a couple of shops downtown I believe.”
”Don’t tell me that you believe those rancid lies and I thought you knew everything about them,” Gerald scoffed. “They’re a bootlegger. They’re the very thing that corrupts good people like you.”
Gerald smiled at you but the smile never reached his eyes, rolling up his sleeves and strolling towards the miniature bar. His hands meticulously grabbed the ingredients which was an old fashioned glass, remaining ice that hadn’t melted yet from the heat, bourbon. He poured himself a drink and planted himself down next to you, his free arm wrapped around your shoulder.
“They want to tell you something, Gerald.” Ray stepped towards you, pulling you up. “Say it, you’ve been practicing. It’s your moment, dear.”
Your eyes watered from the heat, legs shaking in unbridled fear.
“I—I want to leave you.” Your eyes looked up at Ray then to him. “I’m going to leave you.”
Gerald’s smile dropped, placing the glass on the nearby table. He dabbed away the sweat with a towel and discarded it on the floral settee.
“There I told him. Can we go now? It’s too hot.” Your trembling back touched the windowsill, tugging on Ray’s cuff. “Ray, please. Let’s just go.”
“You have filled up their brain with this nonsense.” Gerald stared at Ray and got up, standing a foot away from them. “With these putrid fantasies, why can’t you understand that they do not love you despite everything you have done for them. They love me, they married me, not you.“
“They don’t love you,” Ray replied. “Dear, say it. That you never loved him, you need to break from him and I will treat you better. I won’t be like him, I won’t bring women home, I’ll be loyal to you. Just say it once.”
“See,” he said,” they can’t say it because they love me. It was one time that I brought someone home but I didn’t do it again, did I? Did the gentleman who was found ashore in the papers also get this so-called loyalty?”
Your trembling hands pulled Ray’s fist that seemed to be made of steel away from Gerald, your nails scratched their forearm causing beads of blood to form while tears streamed down your face. He turned to see you sobbing with Ray looming over you, trying to calm you down but you didn’t want to be around Ray. Your voice cracked from shouting at Ray and how it wasn’t supposed to happen this way.
“Are you sure this is what you wanted and not what this thing is saying?” Gerald held his bloodied nose with a towel that he discarded on the settee. “It’s blatantly obvious that it needs to control this temper then who knows what will happen to you and I will not be able to protect you. Are you sure this is what you are leaving me for?”
You untangled yourself from Ray’s web and standing between him and them, your back touched the floral printed wall. Your blurry vision darted from them to him, hearing the familiar noise of a heartbeat in your ears. Trembling legs that inched away from Ray despite them having their arms out and using their hands seemingly trying to push down on something nonexistent to get closer to you; was this supposed to be calming?
“Dear, this isn’t like you.” They urged you to come to them with each step. “Come to me and I’ll give you what you need.”
“You hardly know them.” Gerald looked at Ray with a burning glance. “Just because they took refuge in this cesspool that you call a home does not mean that they will go to you.”
Tumblr media
Yandere! Cheater ending
You inched closer to him and Gerald slowly began to wave you over while he stepped back. Your hands squeezed his forearm, he wiped the remaining dried blood from his nose before tucking the discarded bloodied towel in his pocket.
“It seems that they made their decision.”Gerald kissed the side of your temple. “Let’s go to the car. A drive will do us good.”
Gerald’s arm wrapped around your shoulder, pulling you closer to him. His footsteps guided out the door and down the marble steps till a tug on your wrist snapped you back into the humid reality.
“You don’t have to go to him,” Ray said. “Look at me, please. You can still make this right.”
Gerald pulled your wrist out of their grasp and helped you inside the car. His free hand drew circles in space where thumb met the index finger, the smile finally reached his eyes through the drive home back to the small world across the dock.
Your eyes looked at the blue sky shifting and exposing the insides of oranges, pinks, and purples. The sky had been dyed pitch black with glimmering rhinestones stitched into the fabric, he helped you out. Your coat had been peeled off your shoulders and you expected to hear only your footsteps and the occasional servants but it was doubled with his.
“Why the change of heart, Gerald?” You asked. “Why have you decided to stay rather than going into her arms?”
“You seemed distracted more than ever,” he replied. “She can wait but it seems that I have neglected you for far too long, haven’t I?”
Gerald guided you once more to the bedroom, his hands carefully peeled away your clothes to be replaced with your comfortable nightwear and he sat you down on the cabriole.
“What did you do to me?” Your knees pressed up against your chest and eyes tracing the custom design on the cabriole. “I don’t know where I begin and where you end.”
Gerald’s eyes looked at you and his footsteps stopped at the side of the cabriole’s armrest. You looked up at him, a warm hand that held yours and slipping on your wedding ring. His hands held your face up and he seemed to try to understand the knots and tangles of your mind.
“We have stayed here too long, don’t you agree?” He asked. “Let’s go on a trip and this time you get to choose where we go. Would you like this?”
You agreed that he sat down next to you and wrapped his arm around you, your fingertips traced the circles on his knuckles; feeling the vein, warmth, and calloused palms.
Tumblr media
Yandere! Firework owner ending
You held the wedding ring that made you tethered to him, it was a piece of melted metal that meant something special years ago but it meant nothing now. Gerald’s lips grew into a smile, taking back the ring and asking for a light and a cigarette.
“Someone will get your things.” He looked at you and them. “I won’t be there if this fails.”
Gerald’s footsteps echoed throughout the hallways till it became a distant memory in the halls.
Days had passed which Ray’s eyes seemed to remind you of a cat’s pupils that would grow bigger each time they saw you despite now living in the same house.
You were wearing comfortable loose clothes and sat on one of the lounge chairs, seeing the house that was once yours across the dock; how small and insignificant it looked. Ray’s hands held you delicately as if their body was molded specifically to hold you, their fingertips drew swirls on your spine that caused your hands to tighten on the back of their coat.
“Did I hurt you?” They stopped the swirls. “I’m sorry if I hurt you.”
“It’s alright.” You smiled, holding their face that seemed to be the boiling sun in your hands. “Are you alright? Has your hand healed?”
“It’s just a scratch.” They showed their bandaged hand. “Nothing new, my love.”
Ray’s eyes admired your wonderful features, often asking if you secretly were a noble who bewitched them with your very presence.
Your grip tightened on their forearm with each step towards your old childhood home.
“Why are we here again?” You asked. “Can’t we do this another day?“
“To get your parents' blessing.” They looked at you. “Love, we must do this since we cannot push this back even further.”
You watched the familiar door open to be greeted by an older couple whose face molded into happier faces. Surely, they are looking for someone else.
The furniture was in the same exact place since you left, your knuckles knocked on the wooden door frame to get rid of remaining thoughts that decided to bury themselves in your brain. You disliked the suffocating taste of the home, standing on the steps and hearing the excited footsteps of Ray.
“I got the blessing, my love.” They smiled. “Are you alright?”
“Let’s just go to the car,” you replied.
Ray walked and helped you into the car, you could feel the boiling excitement from underneath their very skin.
“Do you think that we could go to the beach?” You smiled. “I haven’t been there in ages.”

Thanks to degenezijde for sending this classy 1937 renovated Art Nouveau home in Oudenaarde, Belgium. 5bds, 3ba, €698,000 / $762K
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Entrance hall with original tile.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A foyer opens out to a cozy, light-filled living room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The kitchen is a modern black & white with double round sinks, and an opalescent tile backsplash. Classic white Shaker cabinets are interspersed with contemporary glass front cabinets that resemble open shelving, but protect it behind closed doors. Love that idea.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The kitchen has a generously sized eat-in space with doors that open directly to a patio with a pergola.
Tumblr media
In the front of the building, the original windows w/colored glass panes are still intact and beautifully appear in the bedrooms. It would look so great decorating them in Art Nouveau style and picking up the colors of the glass.
Tumblr media
I don't normally do this, but I've never had an Art Nouveau home before. Can you picture this wallpaper on a feature wall? Look at how the colors tie in with the window.
Tumblr media
This bedroom is a little larger and has different style windows with a storage unit that could also be a window seat. Art Nouveau style is fancy and classy, this place needs to ditch the straight lined, bland white modern style.
Tumblr media
They did a modern black & white bath.
Tumblr media
An Art Nouveau tile backsplash would glam it up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A new primary bedroom is in the attic, has beautiful pitched beamed ceilings, built-in floating night tables, a modern fireplace, and an en-suite bath.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beautiful yard surrounded by a private brick wall. And, look at the cute little shed.
Tumblr media
There's even a patio around a pond. What a great home. So much potential for making it an Art Nouveau showplace.

The Mermaids Archway ~ West Bridge, Leicester
The 1900 Art Nouveau terracotta relief on a brick arch was designed by William James Neatby (English architect, designer and artist, 1860-1910) and manufactured by Royal Doulton Lambeth Potteries. It was originally the archway over the main entrance to Leicester's Wholesale Market building. When the building was demolished in the early 1970s, the archway was saved and later re-erected by West Bridge. Note the bubbles coming out of the mermaid's mouth. ~ Terracotta relief by J. W. Chile National Museum of Fine Arts
Hello guys!
I leave this here. This is the chilean Museum of Fine Arts.
Some history:
The Palace of the Fine Arts (el Palacio de Bellas Artes), dates to 1910 and commemorates the first centennial of the Independence of Chile. It was designed by the Chilean architect Emile Jéquier in a full-blown Beaux-arts style and is situated in the Parque Forestal of Santiago.
The Palacio de Bellas Artes, the current home of the Museum, is in the Neoclassical Second Empire style and the Baroque Revival style, strongly reinforced with Art Nouveau details and touches of metallic structural architecture. The central entrance is through a gigantically enlarged version of Borromini's false-perspective window reveals from Palazzo Barberini, which encloses a pedimented doorway entirely surrounded by glass, a Beaux-Arts touch. Through a broken pediment the squared cupola rises to the top. The internal layout and the facade are both modelled after the Petit Palais of Paris. The glass cupola that crowns the central hall was designed and manufactured in Belgium and brought to Chile in 1907. The approximate weight of the armour of the museum is 115,000 kg, of the glass of the cupola, 2,400 kg.
Architectonically, the floorplan of the museum is one of a central axis marked by the entrance and a grand hall with a staircase to the second floor. In the grand hall, above a balcony from the second floor, there is a carving in high relief which depicts two angels supporting a shield. They are located in the semi-vault above the heads of two Caryatids that arise from the balcony, carved by Antonio Coll y Pi.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will need a 64x64 lot and the usual CC that I use.
I took some liberties because I laked the resources to make it identical to the original.
IMPORTANT - you will need to change the usage because I allready had a family living in the lot and did not want to evict them.
I will be sharing the same building with a parliament configuration and a home configuration, so you can chose the one that fits your game :)
Please let me know if you like it and tag me if you share my buildings in your stories that I really enjoy!
Have a great day!

One beautiful detail in Rebellion I noticed for the first time is that the bus station on the edge of town has a very Art Nouveau feel to it, reminiscent of the iconic Paris Metro entrances by Hector Guimard, albeit with a more modern flare.
Tumblr media
The moon is a recurring visual motif in this movie, but it's especially fitting for Homura because her loops are approximately one month long (32 days, according to Scene 0). The moon waxes and wanes but always returns to its starting place--and Homura probably identifies as a cold, barren landscape in perpetual orbit around Madoka, too.
Tumblr media
The other thing I like about the bus station is that the screens depict the town mascot, a little octopus-like creature named Mita-kun. It's too blurry to see in the shot above, but he's accompanied by the town motto, Veni Vidi Mitakihara (a nod to Veni Vidi Vici, "I came, I saw, I conquered", attributed to Julius Caesar). This is written in Roman characters, meaning the filmmakers wanted to make sure we got the reference instead of disguising it by putting it in runes.
Tumblr media
The only bus station we see in the original series (modeled off ones in Curutiba, Brazil, as demonstrated by this side-by-side comparison from the Puella Magi Wiki) look nothing like this, so I have no idea if this is also the mascot for the "real" Mitakihara, or if this is yet another thing Homura's subconscious made up for thematic reasons, but either way, it's cute!

NOVI SAD, Serbia (JTA) — In the heart of downtown in Serbia’s second-largest city, nestled between brick buildings on a leafy street, sits a large synagogue.
With its 130-foot-high central dome and faded yellow brick facade, along with its Jewish school and offices on either side, the synagogue’s three-building complex has become a must-see tourist attraction, with multilingual panels in its courtyard explaining the area’s Jewish history.
The synagogue was built to accommodate up to 950 worshippers in the first decade of the 20th century. But like the city and Serbia more broadly, the building has clearly seen better days. On two recent days, a family was camped outside the entrance, begging passersby for money.
Before World War II, Novi Sad had roughly 60,000 inhabitants, 4,300 of whom were Jews — about 7% of the total population. Most were affluent merchants, lawyers, doctors and professors. Their wealth was reflected in the city’s opulent synagogue, constructed between 1906 and 1909 by Hungarian Jewish architect Lipot Baumhorn, whose work incorporated elements of the Art Nouveau movement.
Today, however, the prominent building serves a dwindling community that, like others decimated by the Holocaust and further eroded by the Balkan wars of the 1990s, fears for its future as residents disperse abroad. Only about 640 Jews remain in Novi Sad; others have sought a future in Israel or countries that offer more economic opportunity.
“We use our own shul only for Yom Kippur,” said Novi Sad native Ladislav Trajer, the deputy president of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Serbia.
“We get six to 10 people for Shabbat — maybe 15 — but fewer than half are male so we can’t make a minyan,” said Trajer, referencing  a Jewish prayer quorum of 10 men. He spent eight years in Israel and also served in the Israel Defense Forces. “Even in Belgrade, which is much larger, the rabbi doesn’t always get a minyan. And nobody here keeps kosher. You can’t get kosher meat.”
Novi Sad was a thriving center of Jewish life in prewar Yugoslavia and the city — now a metropolis of 370,000 sometimes called the “Serbian Athens” — was named a European Culture Capital of 2022 for its arts, food, architecture and other cultural scenes.
But most local Jews see few prospects for themselves in a country beset by economic turmoil. Between 1990 and 2000 — following Yugoslavia’s collapse; the ethnic wars in Croatia, Bosnia and later Kosovo; and the imposition of crippling sanctions by the United States, the European Union and the United Nations — Serbia’s GDP tumbled from $24 billion to $8.7 billion. By 1993, nearly 40% of Serbia’s people were living on less than $2 a day, and at present, the average Serb earns approximately $430 to $540 a month.
Despite those difficulties, Serbia agreed in 2017 to pay just over $1 million annually over the ensuing 25 years to its remaining Jews as compensation for property nationalized by the postwar communist regime. Half of that money goes directly to Jewish community organizations, 20% to Holocaust survivors and the remaining 30% to projects that aim to preserve Jewish traditions.
Since 2012, the Novi Sad community has also earned income by renting out its huge synagogue to the municipality for classical music concerts. In return, the city maintains the complex as a historic monument, and it is now repairing the synagogue’s roof and fixing leaky water pipes.
“These buildings were close to collapse,” said Trajer. He added that the city’s neglected Jewish cemetery can look like a forest. “So we are cutting the trees and struggling to put up fences.”
Although antisemitic incidents are not too common, Serbia, like most other countries in Eastern Europe, also contends with a strong nationalist streak. Trajer, who monitors antisemitism closely, said around 1,500 Serbs belong to extremist groups, of which perhaps 120 are active. Serbian Action, a small group of neo-Nazis, occasionally holds rallies and spray-paints antisemitic, anti-immigrant and anti-gay graffiti on public buildings.
“In high school, my history professor joked that Hitler couldn’t get into an art academy, and that’s why he decided to kill the Jews,” said Teodora Paljic, a 20-year-old Jewish university student. “I don’t talk about these things with people I don’t feel safe around.”
She said that “Life in Serbia is very difficult” because “all the prices have gone up, but salaries haven’t increased since 2019.”
Novi Sad is the capital of Vojvodina, an autonomous province that covers much of northern Serbia, and at the local Jewish community’s zenith, 86 synagogues flourished in the province. Today, only 11 remain standing, and most have fallen into disuse.
Mirko Štark, president of the Jewish Community of Novi Sad, said Jews first settled in the city in the 17th century, shortly after its founding in 1694 under the Hapsburg monarchy.
“When the Austro-Hungarian Empire, where most Ashkenazim lived, introduced new laws that restricted Jews from living in cities, many people ran to the border area, where these laws were not so strictly enforced,” Štark said. Later, when the Serbs captured Vojvodina, those restrictions were rescinded, and the Jewish community blossomed.
Following World War I and the establishment of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes — later Yugoslavia — Novi Sad’s Jews enjoyed a cultural and economic renaissance that saw the formation of a Jewish community center, athletic clubs, choirs and several Jewish newspapers.
That renaissance ended abruptly in 1941, when the Hungarian army, in collaboration with Nazi Germany, occupied Novi Sad, making life for Jews intolerable. Over a three-day period in January 1942 now known as the Novi Sad Massacre, the Hungarians rounded up more than 1,400 Jews, seized their property, shot them in their backs and threw them into the freezing Danube River.
After Hungary’s capitulation to Germany, armed guards herded the city’s remaining 1,800 Jews into the synagogue and kept them there for two days in deplorable conditions without food or water. On April 27, 1944, the Nazis marched their weakened Jewish captives to the train station, then forced them on a train to Auschwitz that took two months to arrive due to Allied bombing.
Only 300 of Novi Sad’s Jews survived the Holocaust, and rebuilt the community virtually from scratch in the ensuing postwar chaos.
“There were no religious people anymore, and no rabbi,” said Štark. “Many went to Israel in the first aliyah. The small number of Jews remaining tried to keep the community alive, opening a kitchen to provide food for people who couldn’t buy for themselves. My grandmother survived Auschwitz. She worked in that kitchen.”
According to Trajer, from 1948 to 2022, no Shabbat services were held. These days, Trajer conducts all religious services because he’s the only one who knows the Hebrew prayers fluently.
With 640 members, Novi Sad has the nation’s second-largest Jewish population after Belgrade. The capital is home to more than half of the country’s 3,000 Jews, out of a total population of 7.1 million. Smaller Jewish communities can also be found in Subotica, Niš and other cities. Only the synagogues in Belgrade and Subotica — the latter located a few miles from the Hungarian border — still function.
Most members of the Novi Sad community, including Štark, have married non-Jews.
“My wife is not Jewish. Neither was my mother. Only my father was Jewish,” he said. “After World War II, the choices for finding husbands and wives within the community was limited. For this reason, we accept non-Jewish spouses as members. This is the only way to survive.”
Štark, 70, is a retired professor of media production who worked for years at Novi Sad’s main TV station. He’s also the longtime president of the synagogue’s choir, HaShira, which sings in Hebrew, Ladino and Yiddish and recently won an award for its performances in neighboring Montenegro. Only three of the choir’s 35 members are Jews.
“When I began my mandate as president a year and a half ago, we woke up many activities in the Jewish community that had existed only on a small scale before,” he said.
Besides the choir, these include the Zmaya dance troupe as well as a Jewish culture club that meets every Tuesday at 6 p.m. to discuss books and Israeli movies. There’s also a “baby club” for small children and another club for teens, whose activities are led by two adults. Hanukkah and Passover are celebrated by families together, and on Tu B’Shvat, the community plants trees.
The community is also investing in its members, and Paljic is emblematic of that hope.
Paljic, interviewed at the trendy Café Petrus, a 15-minute walk from Novi Sad’s Jewish cemetery, is the daughter of Jewish parents who met at a Purim party in Belgrade.
“My grandparents were killed in Jasenovac [a notoriously brutal concentration camp], but my best friend’s grandmother survived Auschwitz,” she said. “The problem is, people don’t talk about Judaism because they’re scared. There is still antisemitism. Last year, somebody drew a swastika at the entrance to the Jewish cemetery in Belgrade. We were all shocked.”
This summer, Paljic worked as a counselor at Hungary’s Camp Szarvas, which brings together young Jews from throughout Central and Eastern Europe. The camp welcomed 20 children from Novi Sad this year; the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee paid their tuition.
While she would like to be close to her family, Paljic said she must be practical.
“I want to go somewhere outside Serbia when I finish college,” she said. “I don’t see my career here. I love art history and photography, but there’s no money in that in Serbia.”
Despite the challenges, Štark isn’t ready to say kaddish for Novi Sad’s Jews just yet.
“We will keep the Jewish spirit alive here. We are working hard, starting with the children,” he said. “If we don’t, everything will die in five or 10 years. So it depends on us.”

Born on this day... Hector Guimard (10 March 1867 – 20 May 1942) was a French architect and designer, and a prominent figure of the Art Nouveau style. He achieved early fame with his design for the Castel Beranger, the first Art Nouveau apartment building in Paris. He is best known for the glass and iron edicules or canopies, with ornamental Art Nouveau curves, which he designed to cover the entrances of the first stations of the Paris Metro.

LuLu Lounge Maxis Remodel
Inspired by Studio Town’s very own 82 Sunrise Boulevard (aka Fairchild Film Studios), I bring you my latest Maxis Remodel...LuLu Lounge! I first teased this back in September but I never quite happy with the interior (it is a huge footprint) so I kept trying different ideas and tweaking things. Nonetheless, I finally have declared it “done” and ready to share!
As usual, I did make some architectural changes. The whole building has been extended by one tile, mainly so I could dress up the entrance with two-story doors and a new marquee. The original description said LuLu Lounge offers velvet couches and ambient music, but as I leaned into the Studio Town aesthetic, I wanted something more “old Hollywood.” That meant lots of wood and a little art nouveau styling. The second floor is accessible but largely decorative, but there is a small office above the bathrooms if you want to run it as a business. Everything has been tested in a copy. The uploaded file has never been played.
There is some CC included in the file, which is outlined below. Because this makeover was inspired by Studio Town, downloading the 1t2 conversions is vital to the lot appearing as shown. Please note that Argon’s seasonal topiares are bundled, so you’ll be getting the set of 5 (Egg, Skyscraper, Pyramid, Llama, and Dolphin). Thank you to the CC creators!

Does anyone or anything live with you? Describe your neighbours if you want, and finally, what is one magical item you secretly keep there. 💜🏡

Yes let's daydream.... My perfect magical home... I want an old brick house. I like gothic, victorian, Art nouveau or even older architecture styles. A huge garden full of flowers and vegetables, fruits and animals. I want sooo many trees everywhere. A pond with water lillies. A forest full of bluebells. I want to see birds and deer around all year. I want old and beautiful things. Pretty wallpaper and cute kitchen tiles. Wood floor. So many paintings and collections of little pretty things. Stars on the ceiling of the bedroom. A guest room. Living room with a green velvet Couch. A greenhouse. A country cottagecore kitchen. A mermaid bathroom. An attic like in the beautiful 90s witch movies. Maybe a tower with a secret entrance full of witchy magical things. A wall full of books, movies and music. A stained glass window! A house with a name is such a lovely thought I might call it Bluebellgrove. A magical secret maybe a fae forest around, a dragon sleeping in the cellar guarding my gold, nymphs in the pond, dryads in the trees, ghost in the attic. All supernatural being are welcome. They can be my neighbors and the animals and trees. 🌲🌳🌿🦇🦔🐿️
Imagine a Mix of the addams family, Pippi longstocking's house (plus animals and Gold treasure in the cellar) , the spellman aunt's house (old and New Version plus talking cat), wizard school aesthetic with a bit of thranduil's woodelven palace. A movie set like Tim burton, Wes Anderson, Guillermo del Toro, Terry Gilliam and the All of the movie Sets in Penelope (Christina Ricci movie) Tim walker Photographs.
Dark Cottagecore, dark academia, eclectic, french abandoned castle, english countryside, american 90s witch, Grimm's Fairytale haunted forest, Edmund Dulac, Alfons Mucha, John Bauer illustration style.
