[FEH x TWST AU]
Introducing the Shroud brothers!
Again, more notes under the cut.
Other posts of this AU:
[ Diasomnia ]
Originally, both brothers were alive (possibly residing in the Realm of Life) however Ortho was murdered when they were younger as a result of Idia’s mistake.
As punishment for his actions, Idia was given a choice and he agreed to preside over Hel rather than... being tortured? Kept in prison? I don’t know.
One of the main reasons he agreed was also because he wanted to be with Ortho/see him again and well, only the dead can enter Hel.
Idia generally dislikes his role since he can’t ever leave Hel and while Ortho is more free to explore (like Lif and Thrasir could), he mostly sticks to his big brother’s side to keep him company (and sane)
Unlike Hel, Idia isn’t going around killing people but moreso just ensuring that people who have to die do die, along with keeping the dead souls in Hel
I guess if Ortho were in the game he’d be the free unit who joins the Summoner/Askr Group
By the way, Ortho totally shoots a giant laser in his attack animation

Summoner!Reader in Imposter AU SAGAU Thoughts
• You, who once lived a pretty mediocre life. Playing video games and indulging in Turn Based games like Fire Emblem, and Open-World games like Genshin Impact.
• You, who woke up one day to find yourself in very bright land with a very familiar redhead to greet them.
• You, the individual titled The Summoner by the redhead, Anna, as the realization hits.
• You, The Summoner, was sent to a world of dragons and magic. A land called Zenith. Which..just so happens to be from a mobile game you were actively playing for a good year or two.
• You, The Summoner, who uses an alias with the Order of Heroes as you begin to adjust to your new position.
• You, The Summoner, who knows all most of the story that will unfold. And how crazy it is to end up being the center of everything.
• The Summoner, who comes up with the craziest ideas and can predict most of the moves that the enemy forces will take. Becoming a big target for any enemy of Askr. An untouchable big target.
• The Summoner, revered by the Order of Heroes for being able to summon and manage so many people. From Gods to the Dead, everyone knows that The Summoner and their reach knows no bounds.
• The Summoner, who almost got killed on several occasions and had to make a small force due to Alfonse and Sharena’s insistence. A force that consists of some of The Summoner’s most trusted, and most powerful, allies.
• The Summoner, who had a hand in slaying the Ruler of the Dead, and putting out the flames of Muspell. Who even aided in defeating the Dökkálfar and Lady Freyja of Dökkálfheimr in her own domain.
• The Summoner that ended up falling attached to many of their new comrades. Perhaps even falling into an amorous relationship with at least one of them.
• The Summoner who somehow has gods even under their thumb. Not even the closed of hearts of Grima and Embla can remain indifferent towards The Summoner, let alone speak negatively of them.
• You, The Summoner, who once wondered if it was possible to end up opening gates to their original world. Perhaps even world of other games they’ve played?
• The Summoner, who was present when a small force of the Order had discovered odd ruins in the middle of a forest.
• You, who recognized the odd symbols discovered in ruins as the elemental symbols from Genshin Impact. And began to get very curious.
• You, The Summoner that always knew what to do, calling a handful of mages and some of the divine to help you activate these seven Elemental Monuments. Not knowing what to expect.
• You, who saw how the ruins lit up as the final Elemental Monument, an Anemo one, was activated. Only for the room to be engulfed in a bright light.
• You, who awoke in the ruins with Breidablik in hand, yet no one allies to be seen. Utterly confused, You begin to try and find your way back to Askr.
• You, who ends up finding civilization…only to be attacked and chased away by familiar faces…playable characters from the world of Teyvat.
• You, who instinctually fired a shot from Breidablik to deter your pursuers. Praying it hits so you can get away…only to find another familiar face clashing blades with one of your Pursuers.
• Lif, who heard the familiar calls of The Summoner’s divine weapon and chose to answer, only to find himself immediately diving headfirst to save them from an enemy blade.
• You, who quickly changed the form of Breidablik to a lance to help Lif and get the both of you out of there. All while internally panicking and running through your combat training from other heroes to at least try and not die.
• You and Lif finding out why these pursuers are so relentless in catching and killing You: As you are, apparently, impersonating Teyvat’s Divine Creator.
• You, who’s seriously getting tired of being chased or attacked by every new face you meet. Channeling that anger into calling for more heroes to…settle the score with this Divine Creator.
• The Summoner, who called for heroes that were deemed Fallen or calling upon gods to even the odds. After all, why run from Gods when you can bring your own? Why run from an army when you have your own smaller force that can do just as much damage with much less effort?
• You, who coaxed Grima, and many other Fallen Heroes, into helping you kill this Divine Creator with a simple idea: “Run wild and let loose upon anyone who gets in the way of toppling this false god. I don’t really care. Just let me get the killing blow.”
• You, who now has a battalion of very powerful entities to dispatch on a moments notice, and strolls into the temple before the so called Divine Creator with a smug smile and declaring war. Oh boy, this will be quite fun.

TW: death, blood, child death
_______________________________________________
“What if you die and I’m still here?”
He ran.
Alfonse ran as fast as he can.
“Then you’ll be all grown up”
He broke down the doors, “SUMMONER!!” He cries out, voice breaking.
Tired from running, so tried from fighting. Just tired.
‘Please be alive. Please be alive’
“And you won’t need me”
He saw them. A child no older then 8 in a white and gold robes. Laying near a red headed woman dressed in white.
He slowly walked to them, heart beating faster and faster, “no, no, no, no”
“..I think I always need you….”
“…Alfonse”
The child was in fact, his summoner. They lay next to Anna, who was also dead. For a while now. It looked like she carried them before being killed herself and the summoner rolled out of her arms. Anna looked to be in very bad shape, one of her notable injuries is that she had a slash mark on her back. A big one for that matter. It looked like to be from a sword or a axe.
The summoner looked no better than Anna. They had some arrows in their back and battle markings on their face. Blood on their front, looking like they took a sword swing to the chest.
He feel on his knees, covered his face in his hands. He lost his sister, his mother, his commander and now his summoner.
In the first time in a long while. Alfonse cried. He actually fully broke down.
Why was Hel so cruel?
_______________________________________________
Lif was summoned to Askr only a few weeks ago. Honestly if you ask him, he is still very much in shock he was summoned here if all places. A world very much like his. But only everyone he cared about is alive.
He was on his daily patrol around the castle until he stop to hear familiar voices. He turned to see the Child!Summoner and Alfonse having a conversation that he couldn’t help but overhear.
What he heard broke him.
“I think I always need you….”

Hi there 😃 may I request something with yandere Ike or Lif from fire emblem? I'm not sure what kind of scenario though 🤔 😅
I gotchu don't worry! I thought I'd do them in a short story style. Hope you enjoy!
Ike
You didn't know that getting close to Ike would have been so dangerous. He seems to be one of the most normal people you have ever summoned to Askr. Not being a prince or noble, he had fought with only his own two hands. How could you not admire him? Oddly enough he had felt the same. He would silently stand beside you whenever he had the chance. If you weren't at his side, the moment he saw you, you would be. Most heroes didn't seem to mind your closeness, other than the odd look Ike might receive after being pushed out of the way, but Soren wasn't content watching Ike slip from his grasp. The mage could confront you only once to tell you that you were underserving of such special treatment. After all, you didn't know Ike's journey or his struggles like he did. The conversation had left you quite frazzled, but you had a hard time disagreeing. Once you mentioned it to Ike, he assured you that there was no need to be worried. He was going to take care of it. You had no reason to believe that involved anything other than words.
When you were called to the scene you were sick to your stomach at the sight. You immediately confronted Ike about why he would act so cruelly toward someone who you believed to be his closest friend.
"I told you once that I would walk down this road with you as long as you let me, but... Whether you'll have me or not, I will not let anyone stand in our way. On the battlefield or otherwise..."
Lif
Its no wonder that Lif is jealous of others around you: he had seen you die before. Everyday since he watched the light fade from your eyes, he longed for you. Days were long without you in his ruined future. Experiencing the light take him only to be brought back in front of you seemed like a nightmare, but you try so hard to make him feel safe. Your warm lively hands, so gentle, often tap him on the shoulder. You offer him a place at the table you eat at though he no longer needs food. Each time he wants to push you away, you bring him back in. Though your small acts of kindness aren't just for him. You are kind and thoughtful to almost any hero. More specifically you are kind to Alfonse. It drives him mad. He knows that that is technically him, but it isn't the him who understands your value. It isn't the him that gets sick at night wondering if you love someone else. He is the one that keeps careful watch of you on the battlefield and reprimands the idiotic royals that let you out of their sights. That is why he couldn't stay another day in Askr. That is why he steals you away in the night. There aren't many realms that he could hide you in, but with Hel's throne truly empty now, he'd have somewhere to go. He'd carefully sit you on the throne, as you slept, thinking only of how he'd wish it was the one his birthright afforded him.

do you ever think about how embla is in absolute disbelief that askr let himself die for mortals, even though she KNEW he was going to do it anyways?
do you ever think about what she says to bruno when he attempts to approach her and how it's literally after the moment she gets upset that askr let himself die? ("my mood is foul enough already. you will not survive this.")
do you ever think about how when she's nearly killed by a mortal and kills him in turn, chronologically, she thinks "why? why would they do this?" -> "they'll go after askr next and betray him" instead of immediately jumping to "i must kill them because they will try to kill me."
do you ever think about how she goes to askr to convince him to stay away from the humans because she's worried he'll get hurt?
do you ever think about how she's clearly not being egged on, because the two most important people in her life are both against this, but she decides to harm the humans anyway because of her conclusion?
do you ever think about how it hurts her to hurt them, but she does it anyway because she thinks, in her own twisted way, the result is better than the current present?
do you ever think about how she purposely drove the mortals away, but says that they "chose" askr? when, in fact, the one who made a choice was askr, to side with them?
do you ever think about how she mentions to elm that he's the only one loyal to her, and the rift between askr and embla widened because he decided to go against her?
do you ever think the issue is not so much the mortals, because surely it was just one mortal that sparked this and nothing about this incident suggests that everyone was against her, but askr being perceived as not taking her side, as not caring for his own life?
do you ever think about how the flashbacks in chapter 13 actively suggest that?
do you ever think about how askr is her last thought as she's dying, after she's already gone through the dying villain speech?

Lokean Parable: Loki Ruins Everything (Voluspa, Rígsþula)
(First, a brief disclaimer about these stories)
One day, while Odin and Thor and Loki were out fishing and drinking mead, they met the first two humans, who were scrambling along the rocks gathering shellfish.
Odin called the two humans over, and named them Askr and Embla. He gave them fates, like the gods had, so that they might be part of the world but also able to alter it.
When he was done, he turned to Thor and Loki.
“They are different than the other animals now, and they will be able to interact with us more directly. You should each gift them things that will help them thrive.”
Thor considered it for a moment. “I give them courage so that they can protect each other, and the ability to inspire each other with their examples and their stories.”
Odin nodded approvingly. “That is good. The world is a hard place, and they will need those things.” Then he turned to Loki. “And you?”
“I’m going to make them both smoking hot.”
Odin’s brows furrowed. “What?”
Loki nodded and grinned. “Yeah. And they’re going to have orgasms when you touch them in the right places. Like Sif.”
“Dammit Loki.” Thor growled. “What have I told you about that.”
Loki stroked Thor’s bicep. “Relax. I’m not saying I don’t like you just as much. In fact, I was thinking that maybe you and Sif and I –”
“Loki!” Odin snapped. “Focus. And come up with a real gift, something practical.”
“Okay, okay, something practical. I’ll need to think about it and get back to you guys.” Loki said. “Anyway, all this talk reminds me that I have some unfinished business back in Asgard. No need for you two to hurry back though.” And with that, Loki was gone.
“I’m sure they’ll think of something,” Thor said, “they usually do.”
Odin sighed. “That’s what I’m afraid of.”
Later, Odin and Heimdall were watching the humans as they hunted and ate and fucked and slept and lived and died.
“That’s all they do?” Heimdall asked.
Odin nodded. “Kind of disappointing, isn’t it?”
“It is. I think I have a solution though.”
So Heimdall went among the humans. He took the poorest and taught them how to bear the burden of manual labor, day in and day out. He taught the thralls to be grateful for what they had and to always obey their betters and to accept their lot in life.
Then Heimdall made the more skilled humans into crafters and farmers. He taught them how to raise livestock and till the land. He showed them how to make clothes from plant fibers, and how to store food so that they might harvest more than they needed to eat and be able to provide for their lords.
Finally, Heimdall chose the strongest and the wealthiest among the humans to be Jarls. He showed them how to command their lesser kin, and gave them the will to accumulate power and the means to make war.
As he was finishing up, he noticed Loki watching him.
“You gave them servitude and exploitation as gifts?”
“I gave them order and a sense of purpose and place.” Heimdall said. “I do not expect you to understand. Stand aside, I must return to my duty.”
“Yea, sure. No problem.” Loki said, and then settled down to watch the humans for a long time after Heimdall had gone. Sure enough, the thralls seemed perfectly content to live out their short brutal lives as work animals. The farmers and craftsfolk willingly gave their possessions to the Jarls who ruled them. In turn, the Jarls raised up armies and sent them against each other to kill and to die for each lord’s benefit.
With each generation, Loki became more and more incredulous. Eventually, he decided he had seen enough. He gave his gift to humanity and went back to Asgard.
Some time later, Heimdall went to look for Odin. He found him drinking with Thor and Loki.
“Something is wrong with the humans.”
Odin frowned. “Really? The hall of the dead has been as full as ever. What is the problem?”
"It is madness down there. Thralls rising up and killing their masters. Farmers and craftsfolk amassing the wealth that should rightfully belong to their lords. Soldiers refusing their own deaths in battle. The humans are tearing apart the order that I created for them.”
Odin nodded, his face grave. “That is odd. Do you know what has gone wrong?”
“Not what. Who.” Heimdall said. “Loki has ruined the humans, as he ruins everything.”
“Loki, is this true? Are you responsible for this?”
Loki shrugged. “I gave them my gift, if that’s what you’re asking.”
“And what, exactly, was that?” Heimdall asked.
“Disobedience.”
The other three gods all looked at Loki for a long moment. Heimdall’s eyes were wide with rage. “You gave them disobedience?”
Loki nodded. “Yeah. I gave them the ability to decide what they wanted to do, and to do that rather than what they were told. I also gave them dissatisfaction and restlessness so that they wouldn’t be content with lives of toil and monotony.”
Heimdall learned forward and leveled his finger at Loki. “You cannot do that. I created their civilization. It belongs to me, to direct as I see fit.”
“Not anymore.” Loki said. “Now it belongs to them.”

So now that Embla has dropped, is it cool if I ask for Embla and summoner headcanons, platonic or not?
Embla:
-Embla is difficult to find. She hides among shadows and only appears when she knows she is needed for battle. If Summoner actively seeks her out, she ignores them for quite some time.
-"I have no interest in speaking with you mortal. Approach another." She'll tell them from the shadows, her presence disappearing as quickly as it approached. And she's quite adamant of this fact. "I am here to fight your battles, not appease your misplaced desire for companionship."
-She'll eventually come around. It's slow and subtle when she does. First she becomes easier to find, she'll let her place in the dark be known but won't outright come out until Summoner grows closer with her. "I don't understand why you continue to pester me, we have nothing to speak of." But still, if they do have something to say she does listen, however, she's scowling the whole time.
-When tolerance turns to fondness, she frets. Refusing to allow herself to fall victim to the loss of another mortal, she'll return to the dark, ignoring them outright if they search for her. They can still feel her watching and following behind them in the night.
-The day she comes around is abrupt. Appearing before Summoner at random. "I forbid you to die. If that foolish child of Askr asks you an impossible task, refuse." She isn't joking, she will turn around and tell Alfonse no for them. Maybe throw in a threat or two.
-Being friends with Embla is strange because sometimes Summoner forgets they're even friends to begin with. She's protective to the point of being insulting if she thinks they're about to do something dangerous. "If you wish to die Summoner, merely ask me and I will save us both some pain." She wouldn't actually... okay maybe.
-"I have no need for offerings but since these are from you, I will accept them." Any gifts from them are labelled as offerings, but unlike offerings she does actually treasure most of the things they've given her. Even if she considers them silly mortal trinkets.

Also man can you think of what would DRIVE the Askran kingdom to wanting an army of disposable clones in the first place? Because I can. Something they can throw at an unbeatable foe without fearing ruining timelines...
They do seem to run into a lot of Unbeatable Foes. It's a wonder the kingdom hasn't imploded like 5 times over.
And like to a degree I get it, I get why you would want to avoid sacrificing your own people, or heroes with homes to go back to one day. It would materially be worse for a hero who plays a pivotal role in their own timeline to die in Askr/etc before they can go home and play their part. You could potentially doom entire countries that way. Or entire worlds, depending on who it is that's dying.
But.... it's the Hollow Knight Vessel Problem all over again. Those are PEOPLE you're making just to die they're PEOPLE this is WRONG!!! There IS a cost too great, and you found it!
And the thing is, story-wise, we're friends with Reginn now and have been for ages! If we really need that many disposable soldiers, can't we just go over to the Steampunk Dimension and ask her how to make automatons?!
We can just not use forma, Askran royalty. There are other options in our grasp. We can be better than this.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how there is actually a sense of hope found in Bruno’s story.
He’s just a kid when he loses everything. His mom, and then the only home he’s ever known.
But despite this, he ends up meeting some kids who would turn out to be the best, most loyal and caring friends of all. Finding a new home in the place that was once meant to be his enemy.
Of course, we know how it goes from here - he can’t stay forever, because the curse in his blood eventually awakens. And he cares just as much about them, so he has to make the painful choice to leave so they won’t get hurt (or worse, die).
But when he disappears, they miss him so bad. They don’t give up on him. They’re still looking around everywhere whenever they have a chance, hoping to find him, hoping to find out that he’s alright.
And when it’s revealed that Prince Bruno, a prince of Embla - their enemy - is their old friend Zacharias, they do not care if he should be their enemy. They do not care if he hid the truth from them all these years. What they do care about is, he’s alive. He’s alive, and he is *not* going to get himself killed now, because they won’t let him, they love him far too much.
They give him the hope and strength to carry on.
He does die, years later still, but it is out of love. He loves his sister, and has the opportunity to give her the freedom he never got to have.
And he dies, and is so, so, loved.
It may not be known or cared about by a large amount of people, but to those who had the good fortune of getting to know him, Prince Bruno of Embla, Zacharias of Askr, is so very missed. His presence mattered. His life made an impact on them. He was loved, very much by those who he loved.
There is much tragedy behind his life’s story, but in between all of that, there is hope.
Despite all the terrible things he had gone through, he still found love, and it carried on even after he died.
It’s a beautiful, heart-aching thing.
