Sableye 1: “We have a human that has never done a prank, we have a ghost child that can phase through stuff, and we have a baby that can transform herself into other Pokémon at will. And they all live with different groups! Do you know what this means?”
Sableye 2: “Yes. We must teach them the art of pranks and chaos. Dusknoir, Grovyle, Celebi, Ark, Twig, and Kip will never know peace again.”
The sableye chaotic meme-ry and pranking mentorship program is spreading, and there’s nothing we can do to stop it.

[TEMPLATE BY @waitingonthewind - Go check out Daria here!]
Ren would be a ghost-type gym leader for sure in a PokemonAU, even though his regular team would be rather different (no matter what he is just followed by a wriggle of Dreepy).
Also why are pokemon so deceptively hard to draw? Why did no one tell me this?

He’s here! My pokeshi doll of Geode, my partner Sableye by @oomles !
He’s so beautiful, I love the details, and the embroidery on the gem parts is amazing with how vivid and shiny they are!
Oomles was a delight to work with as well, so kind and very quick. The quality of their sewing and construction is incredible, top tier professional work, and worth much more than what they price. I’ll absolutely be going back in the future for more work, and I fully recommend ❤️

*nanu's staring down at a passed out kaito and is gently nudging the boy's side with his foot. the older man just sighs as he doesn't seem any closer to waking up, his sableye picking the boy up and carefully laying him on the couch. he seems sad, even hiding behind nanu when he hears someone approaching! he doesn't want to accidentally scare them too!!*
"I guess you heard all that commotion too, hu? It's partially my fault for leaving my Poké Balls out where anyone can get them, though I think he's learned his lesson in touching things without permission. Isn't that right, old friend?" *he pats the pokémon's head who gives a sad whine in response...*
Phanty had heard the screaming Kaito from his room, but he hadn't set up any surprise scare pranks today, so he was very curious as to who scared Kaito that badly.
Entering the room, he blinks at the sight of a passed out Kaito, but even moreso at the the Sableye he sees hide behind Nanu. "Oh my god." He can't help the amused snort that leaves him when he learns what happened. "Heheh I can imagine the look on his face when this lil guy popped out! Yeah, bet he won't do that again! I wish I was here to see it for myself, heh heh heeeh..."
Snickering, he pokes the astronaut's cheek, before kneeling down to the Sableye. "Aww, it's okay, lil buddy. Don't look so sad, you didn't do anything wrong... that kid is just afraid of literally anything that's supernatural, no matter if it's actually scary or not. In fact, I'm kind of impressed. Normally no one can make him faint and pass out like that: only I can usually do that! I think you and I will be goooood friends. Don'tcha think?"
Tumblr media
He winks, of course mostly joking as he also pats its head! "Really though, don't worry: give him some time and he'll wake back up."

A garchomp caring for a fidough reader?
How did a little Fidough like you come to befriend someone as terrifying as Garchomp?
Well, it all started when you were rescued from an aggressive pack of Maschiff, led by a Mabosstiff who accused you of trespassing on their turf. You genuinely didn't think you were intruding, and apologized profusely.
Unfortunately, they wanted to teach you a "valuable lesson", and ended up backing you into a corner.
Or rather..near the edge of a cliff.
At the time, you didn't have any fairy-type moves that could help you get out of this troubling situation. All you could do was shuffle backwards as the Maschiffs stalked closer to you, ignoring your pleas for them to leave you alone.
But just when it seemed like you were doomed...
A Garchomp suddenly swooped down, standing between you and the group of mean dog Pokémon, putting on their best Scary Face.
They ended up exposing the Mabosstiff as a Zorua, causing the whole pack to scatter. None of them dared to test a Garchomp's might.
You thanked them over and over for saving your life, only for them to snarl about how you were all making a fuss near a Gible den they were watching over--hence the reason for their intervention.
Despite this, you had no fear of the dragon/ground type and vowed to become their friend that day.
And yet...they never actually did anything to scare you off, nor did they consider flying to another part of Paldea to be rid of you forever.
You refused to leave their side, following them around like a Pawmi counting steps with its trainer.
Understandably, they got annoyed with this and insisted you left them be, saying you shouldn't get so attached to them.
What you did have, however, were baby-doll eyes that proved super effective against them when you pleaded to stay with them, as you really had nowhere else to go. And you felt in debt to them for rescuing you.
It's not that they were afraid of you for being a fairy type. If anything, it was the least of their concerns. They were far stronger than you.
Heck, you could barely hurt them with Play Rough even if you learned that.
So...they eventually gave in.
That day, Garchomp found out they're weak to fairy types both in...and outside of battles.
............
"Where are we going??"
"Into this cavern."
"What's here???"
"..my home. It will be cold tonight. So we must hurry."
"Okay!!" Wagging your round tail, your stumpy legs raced to catch up with the tall dragon Pokémon as you both entered the cave.
Garchomp could see the little Sableyes who made their home here stare at them, and then you, confusion written all over their faces.
Luckily the ghosts only had an appetite for gems, or else you'd be dessert.
They wondered what life was like for a Pokémon who so-happened to resemble human food, as they were quite common in this region. They've seen very few Fidoughs, and even fewer Daschbunds out in the wild.
Apparently this was because humans domesticated a majority of them for their yeast breath...or so Garchomp overheard.
To them, it just seemed like an abuse of your species. So they were surprised to see you didn't belong to any trainer or bakery owner.
You were still a wild Fidough trying to find your place in this big world.
Eventually, you entered Garchomp's "home": a small nest made from various clothes trainers left behind on the mountains, leaves and sticks from trees....and plenty of shiny evolution stones they've collected over the past few months.
While you were excited to see all the precious gems and trinkets, you heard grumbling noises and noticed they were getting situated in their nest, ready to doze off.
They shut their eyes, only for them to snap open seconds later upon feeling you snuggle underneath their wing. Their golden gaze was stern as they slightly lifted their arm up, confused. "What're you doing?"
"Keeping you warm!" You smiled. "You said it'll be cold tonight, right?"
"....I guess I did. Fine. You can stay there. Just don't..fidget too much." Huffing through their nostrils, they shut their eyes once more, curling up.
Although you were still overcome with excitement over successfully befriending this dragon, the trek to their den made you quite tired.
Soon enough exhaustion overcame you, too. With a small yawn, you curled up into a ball and closed your eyes.
And you drifted off to sleep alongside your new best friend, eager for whatever tomorrow may bring.

I recently hatched a little baby sableye, and the rest of my team is,, apprehensive about him. I train exclusively ghost types, and even they all seem a little bit spooked by him. Any advice?
in this case, i don't think that it has anything to do with being a ghost type. sometimes, pokémon just get worried when an egg-hatched pokémon enters the team because they think that the baby's gonna soak up all of the TLC. kinda rustles the team dynamic. assure them that you're gonna be just as involved as ever, just with an extra responsability
oh, and dont let the sableye gnaw on the other pokémon. since it's a baby, it won't do much damage, but you dont wanna push the other team members' buttons

Will you ever write/make a comic about Twig confronting her aunt? It’s something I’d love to see!
I’m actually planning a full piece of that right now! I’m not sure if it would be better as a comic or a written fic, but it is in the process of being outlined as we speak :>
It’s going to fit into the Shadow Baby AU (that honestly I’m doubting the AU status of more and more with every day— it’s pretty much canon to The Present is a Gift in my heart of hearts). As I have it planned so far, Twig leaves Opal and Ark to accompany Celebi and Dusknoir on a trip to the Future so that Dusknoir can visit the sableye. On the way back, Twig encounters a paradoxical version of her younger human self and is taken back to her bunker. The human Twig (who I’ve been calling Bud) is thrilled to bits to see another pokemon after spending so long without ever seeing Grovyle or Celebi— and not only that, but a pokemon who can speak English!— so she shows Twig to her aunt. Twig stands up for her younger self when she recognizes a veiled threat that her aunt directs at her and lets the woman have it after telling Bud to go outside the bunker and wait for her.
One vent session later, Twig comes out of the bunker looking very stoic and brings Bud back to the Present with her to reunite with Grovyle + Celebi and keep her away from the awful excuse of a woman that is her aunt :>
(meanwhile, in the Future, Twig's aunt is in hot water for LOSING AN ENTIRE CHILD that she was solemnly entrusted to care for, and an investigation into the missing Bud brings a lot of her misdeeds into the light. She's punished accordingly. This is a happy accident on Twig's part and isn't going to be shown in the piece, but I just wanted to let everyone know she gets a small fraction of what's coming to her ( ꈍᴗꈍ) )

Sudden thought; Overlord (the anime/manga/web novel) characters with Pokemon.
Ainz: His team consists of Dusknoir, Ceruledge, Umbreon, Unown, Porygon Z (shiny) and Giratina. Dusknoir was his first pokemon (then a Duskull) and Giratina is his ace.
Albedo: Annihilape, Mienshao, Luxray, Gardevoir (shiny), Absol and Salazzle. Since Annihilape is her sole ghost type she treats it like her baby, since ghost types reminds her of Ainz.
Shalltear: Chandelure, Gliscor, Noivern, Drapion, Roserade and Gorebyss. All her pokemon are dressed up with various accessories.
Demiurge: Houndoom, Toxicroak, Banette, Claydol, Skarmory and Gogoat. Houndoom is always by his side though his secret favorite is his Gogoat since it reminds him of Ulbert.
Aura: All big and ferocious looking pokemon. Tyrantrum, Arcanine, Scolipede, Gyrados, Ursaluna and Tyranitar.
Mare: Half grass types, half absolute powerhouses. Cherrim, Lurantis, Tangrowth, Garchomp, Dragonite, Golisopod.
Cocytus: Froslass, Golurk, Kingambit, Aegislash, Escavalier and Heracross. They are all battle maniacs.
Sebas: Lucario, Indeedee, Cinccino, Drampa, Altaria and Bewear. They all help him with his butler duties.
Pandora's Actor: Ditto, Sableye, Cofragrigus, Gholdengo, Wobbuffet and Mew. The only NPC to have a legendary pokemon.

revelation oak challenge - section 2 complete
Tumblr media Tumblr media
14 hours is certainly less than 40. that went by so fast!
this is because of three things: smaller evolving roster, new leveling methods, and similar evo levels to the previous section while having access to better exp
smaller evolving roster: you can see a majority of this section is comprised of single stage pokemon like plusle, minun, mawile (and because revelation adds version exclusives, sableye!), etc. There's also azurill (thanks to sea incense being added to slateport shop), which can evolve but doesn't need to! of course, eggs aren't the only things the daycare can do
new leveling methods: in this section we get the exp share and access to the pokemon daycare, which can hold two pokemon at a time. the exp share can help speed up switch-training our weaker mons like magikarp, and while we're running back and forth for wild exp we can leave some other trainees in the daycare where we can bring them out later. by that point, they usually get a head start of 9 or 10 levels! and getting the rest won't be an issue either
better exp: most of our evolving mons do so at similar points to our evolving mons in our first section, mid 20s and early 30s roundabout. the difference in circumstance is that we're not grinding up lvl 6 to 8 baby mons, but lvl 13 or 14 exp vending machines like roselia (during the day) and volbeat (during the night). these guys can give up to 300 or so exp, and they appear pretty consistently. truly, everything's coming up milhouse
with that said, there are still certain hurtles. youd think, being in the slow leveling group and evolving at 32 and 42, aron would be the worst of the bunch- but it was actually quite nice thanks to its decent learnset and stats, breezing through battles with no problem. with the daycare and 10 rare candies, getting aggron was no issue
electrike however,
Tumblr media
electrike, like aron, is in the slow leveling group. however, it pulled the short straw with its levelup learnset. it evolves at 26, and the best moves it learns are quick attack at 17, and its one STAB move spark at level 20. this does little to help of course, as most of the mons you will encounter while grinding are electric or grass types. and to add insult to injury, everyone and their mother has either thunder wave or stun spore- again, electric types do not have paralysis immunity in gen 3.
so the strategy in training something that loves eating your full heals is to get poison-pointed by roselia. sure, poison isnt good, in fact it is quite bad and not very pleasant, but it doesnt diminish your stats like burn or paralysis do and by being poisoned no other status effects can be applied. by this point you have a monstrous amount of super potions from your squad of linoone that you really are better off keeping your electrike poisoned for as long as possible while training and constantly healing it up until its out of damaging moves, in which case you visit the center before coming right back to it and getting poisoned again as quickly as possible
truly, it is not easy being green.
