Okay, hear me out. Josh and Tommy.

Sometime down the line Buck and Tommy break up amicably and stay friends and buddie happens. Buck feels kinda guilty though, partially because he feels like he might've unintentionally led Tommy on and partially because every time they talk he ends up mentioning Eddie. And Tommy is still single.

So, this rather needless guilt is just sitting in the back of Buck’s mind. And then one night, he ends up over at Maddie and Chim’s for drinks or whatever and Josh happens to be there. Josh is sipping wine and bemoaning how single he is.

And Buck gets an idea.

Buck: Hey, Josh, how’d you like to date a hot, charming firefighter?

Josh: How is that even a question?

Of course, Buck sets them up, and to everyone's delight it goes rather well! They have a similar sense of humor, full of snark and wit, so the banter is Level 100. Josh likes that Tommy is gentleman, picking him up, driving, picking up the check. Josh knows he can take care of himself, but it's nice, to feel a little special sometimes. To have some attention. And if how Tommy went about asking Buck out was anything to go by, Tommy likes treating!

A perfect match, if Buck does say so himself (and he does).

Keep thinking of Buck and Bucky's perception of Rosie through their eyes. When they meet him, Rosie's a great pilot, has been training gunners for ages and knows his way around a plane well - but has yet to see any combat. He's that wide-eyed kind of hopeful that he can make a difference.

When they meet him again by the end of the series, Rosie's gone on to fly 52 missions. He's well and truly past his first tour, and well into his second. The rest of the 100th adore him and respect him as a leader; and Rosie adores them all right back.

Despite all of that, Rosie still seems like the same person - undemonstrative, and a little more heaviness to his shoulders perhaps, but that wide-eyed hope that I can make a difference hasn't faded.

i'm slowly making progress on this fic, sigh, so have a little bit of eddie taking care of buck

“Hey, Buck.”  Buck opens his eyes, lolls his head to the side, and smiles. “Hi,” he says, soft and easy. He wiggles around, brings the arm not secured to his chest out from beneath the blankets, and makes grabby fingers at Eddie. “C’mere.”  Eddie goes. It’s Buck—Eddie always goes.  He moves forward till he’s beside the bed, right up in Buck’s space. He’s dirty, bruised and a little bloody where the nurses and doctors hadn’t wiped him clean; his left arm rests high on his chest, stabilized by several layers of gauze wrappings and a fitted sling. He’ll be in the sling for two weeks until he comes back for another assessment, but he won’t be cleared for light duty for at least a month and a half.    “Glad to see you’re awake,” he says, lacing his fingers around Buck’s wrist. Buck’s fingers are swollen and bruised and cut up, as if he tried to catch his fall. “You look like shit.”  Buck’s smile is loose and dangerously drowsy. “Feel it.” He twists his hand around so he can tangle his fingers with Eddie’s. “Broken collarbone, cracked ribs, and a badass case of whiplash will do that to you.”  “Could’ve been worse.”  Should’ve been worse, honestly. If Buck hadn’t turned and Eddie hadn’t caught the line quick enough to slow his descent, Buck probably would have had it a lot worse than he does now. Eddie’s grateful—he’ll take a tweaked shoulder over Buck’s battered, broken body any day of the fucking week.  “Yeah.” Buck blinks. His eyes are tired, dark blue and dull, but he’s still smiling. “Had a hell of a time in the ‘copter with Lucy. Miss working with her.”  “I bet you do.” Eddie reaches for the towel on the bedside table, dips it in the canteen of lukewarm water, and wrings the excess out. “Stay still so I can clean your face.”

S5 E12 (911 first watch through)

I can't get the idea of a Ghost Whisper/911 crossover where Melinda Gordon is in Boston (idk, finding antiques) at the same time Maddie is there for therapy. A young ghost follows Melinda but isn't doing anything but watching over her. She asks him if he needs help, and he's even more confused because his sister has never seen him before! Eventually he gets that she's not his sister, and as nice as it sounds, Daniel doesn't want to crossover yet. He's got a job to do (looking after his siblings) but he does need some help finding Maddie. Maddie and Melinda ignore the fact that they look exactly alike but talk about their paramedic and firefighter boyfriends. Daniel doesn't want Maddie to worry more, so Melinda doesn't tell her he's there, but she does give Maddie her card in case she's in Grandview or needs some antiques.

I think of the three of them Davey's the most well-versed in board and card games - I can see him really enjoying card games generally; slapjack, bull, war, maybe even some poker. I'll bet you he did a little bit of tabletop gaming as a young adult too, albeit not particularly seriously. Buck and Minnie meanwhile I think can enjoy card & board games when presented the opportunity, but neither especially grew up on them, and they're both equally sore winners AND losers, so like. proceed with caution

things i like about totk so far: the depths,

i am going to be so completely honest i thought id be able to think of more. um. this is awkward

— Doc sputtered, why even spluttered, and maybe almost peed his pants!!! He flung himself back, a quick tumble and stumble to get as much distance between him and America’s #1 Crimefighter (why couldn’t one of those other chumps show up; he had a whole can of raid for Wo-mutant-is and everything!)

“POL-POLTERGEIST P— FUCK THAT IS A HORRIBLE NAME! OPHELIA!!! BACK ME UP!”

With a few key inputs scrambled into his SCRAPYARD ARM 2.3: robotic rats skidded out from the depths of the sewers! Their wheels aflame and hot just like the toys they were based off of, and they charged at Night-Thing with massive mechanical chompers! (w…were they ticking, too?!)

Ophelia on the other hand, opted to watch instead, for now. Doc got himself in this mess— he should try to get himself out of it, too!

It’s okay to laugh. I am.”  Buck shakes his head. “You died, Eddie,” he says, quiet, and grabs Eddie’s squirming toes as a casual tether. “I don’t want to laugh at that.”
