Oh god.
I'm excited for BERLIN.
But THIS...
No way they try to make DAMIAN el professor 0.2.
The way he dressed and acted like Sergio. It's the one that made me so cringe.
Not trying to judge, but Bruce and Keila??? Kelia smelling bruce?? I mean,
I'm not trying to judge, i'm not trying to complain so much, but please, you have so many fans here that is excited for this... But THIS... Lol
Don't make me loose hope here.

T minus 13 until the Berlin spinoff.
We're getting Ralicia, an Andrés who's inexplicably (although I assume the series will explain) called Berlin, a hot new cast of characters and if I'm not mistaken, *the* Champs Elysees heist that helped make De Fonollosa into the legend he is in canon LCdP.
I hope it's more than a fun, romantic heist movie, and I do hope it won't be a blip that gets forgotten (and/or cancelled) before the new year rolls around. Basically - please, please be good and memorable! It may be the last we get of these characters; I hope it's as good, if not better, than Pedro & the rest of the cast say it is.

A Spy Among Friends (2022)
🎬In England in 1963, Nicholas Elliott works for MI6 as an intelligence officer but is left in turmoil when he learns his close friend and colleague, Kim Philby, had been secretly working as a double agent for the KGB, defecting to the Soviet Union.
📝A perfectly executed series that will have to you engaged from the beginning til the very end. Beautifully shot, acted and directed. Loved Guy Pearce but especially Damian Lewis who is just exceptional (as he normally is) in this show. He is so versatile. If you love your spy stories (this is based on Ben Macintyre's book of the same name) then you have to watch it.
It's just brilliant. I binge watched it in two days :-) Damian Lewis is taking a break from acting. We wish him a good time off and all the best and we hope he will return when he feels ready.

Idk why but I love to fantasy book WWE PLE's and see how accurate I am when the time comes. Here's how I'd do both Summerslam, then Bash in Berlin. Just a bit of pointless fun

It's not what I think WILL happen, it's what I think would be dope to watch and would pull the biggest audiences.

i'm crying at you calling Andrés your wife 😭and again you're so right wtf we got net ZERO information abt andrés that we didn't already know before, in fact only more questions like how tf does this boomer know of the existence of spotify??????? he and sergio both dress like they're from the 40s, act like they are in their 40s, and now suddenly he knows about s p o t i f y 😭
EYE didn't know about spotify until like, 2020! and i'm not a boomer!
You're welcome, anon XD LMAO LITERALLY!! We got net zero, NET ZERO new info about Andres. We learned nothing about him, and didn't even get any basic questions answered from the main show! Like, how old was he when had Rafael, is his surname Marquina or de Fonollosa!? Instead, we're just wondering how he could possibly have done all this in the 2010s when he died in 2017 asdfasdf, not to mention how this doesn't match up with Martin's intro and the gold plan.
You're right and you should say it anon!! Andres and Sergio are very obviously pushing 40 LOL you barely even see them use cell phones. There is no way either of them uses spotify. Especially Andres. This is a man who calls IT because he forgot how to adjust the brightness of his phone, okay, this is not a tech savvy hip person. (And SAME, I too had no idea how to use spotify until the 2020s asdfaf)
Alas, my wife is just too high maintenance to offer us answers!

Really hope the woman will be the one decieving Andrés. I also think Roi will betray him. Or probably all of the team will be working against Andrés and Damiám lmfao. Then Damián dies and Jakov shows up and kills the rest of the team. As it stands, since Damián is the one close to Andrés, he has to go, otherwise his absence in the gold heist planning makes no sense.
I hope the same too. I don't know about Roi betraying him though (it would be a repetition of Rafael and Tatiana and Rafael stealing the gold). I hope the husband is someone we know though. Maybe the husband is Arturo.
Maybe Damian has died of old age by the time of the mint, why does no one consider that.

So I Hear You Liked...World War Two Dramas
What's that? You said you wanted a World War Two series where women actually speak to each other? Have I got a deal for you!
When Band of Brothers first came out, I did not have cable, but what I did have was a card at a library that owned seemingly every PBS drama ever broadcast. I know and love a lot of these shows, and I hope you do, too.
As we wait for Masters of the Air to join us, maybe you can fill some time with one of these!
Classic: These shows were made in the 70s and 80s and while the production values are not the same as something made more recently, they're all fun to watch.
Danger UXB - daily life in a bomb disposal unit.
Dad's Army - comedy show about the Home Guard.
Hogan's Heroes - situational comedy about life in a POW camp.
Piece of Cake - follows British pilots stationed in France as the Phony War begins.
Homefront Perspectives:
✨Housewife, 49 - Based on the wartime diary of Nella Last, who participated in the Mass Observation project. One of my favorites.
✨Foyle’s War - procedural crime drama following DCS Foyle and hsi team as he solves murders in wartime Britain. Another favorite.
Island at War - Wartime life on the Channel Islands during the German occupation
Land Girls - Follows the lives of a group of Land Girls working on an estate farm.
Bomb Girls - Follows the lives of a group of workers in a Toronto munitions factory.
Home Fires - Life in a small British town near an air base. Based on a book.
World On Fire - Follows the disparate lives of several people in several countries as the war begins.
✨All Creatures Great and Small - The life of Yorkshire Vet James Herriot, based on the book series of the same title. A favorite, both the 1970s original and the 2020 version.
A French Village - Daily life in a French village is upended as the Germans invade. Follows the same village through the entire war.
My Mother and Other Strangers - An Irish village deals with the introduction of an American Air Force base.
Colditz - life in one of the war's most infamous POW camps. Features Damian Lewis!!
Atlantic Crossing - the life of Crown Princess Marta of Norway as she tries to advocate for her country while living in the United States.
The Halycon - Life in a posh London hotel during the 1940s
Spies and Science:
X Company - Canadian drama about life overseas for spies
Resistance - French wartime drama about a woman in the French underground movement
Restless - Postwar drama about a woman who spied for the Russians in England during the war.
✨Manhattan - If you liked Oppenheimer, have I got a show for you!! Follows the lives of several scientists and their families as they move to Los Alamos. A favorite.
✨The Heavy Water War - Norwegian/British operations Grouse and Gunnerside to destroy German heavy water plant. A favorite.
The Twelfth Man - Norwegian sabotage operation gets shot down in occupied Norway.
✨Generation War - German experience of war from variety of perspectives. This show is excellent. Everyone should watch this.
✨SAS: Rogue Heroes - Follows the foundation of a parachute regiment in North Africa that would eventually become the basis for Britain's commando units. A favorite.
Postwar:
A Place to Call Home - very soapy Australian post-war drama about an upperclass family.
Our Wonder Years - Follows three sisters in post-war Germany as they attempt to confront the past.
Tannbach - Follows a family whose German town is split in two along the new East-West border.
The Defeated - Crime drama following a policeman trying to find his brother in post-war Berlin
Small Island- a Jamaican woman moves to London after the war and tries to adjust to a country that doesn't want her there
Call the Midwife - Social drama in the 1960s addressing the health and lives of the post-war poor of London.

Middle-aged Yor and Loid suddenly get a call from Martha, because Becky and Anya secretly left the Blackbell mansion in the middle of the night and they are probably clubbing with other Eden students in Berlin’s hottest spot.
Loid believes in co-parenting, so he trusts Yor and lets her get Anya in the nightclub but she never comes back. Loid goes to the club as well and he sees his drunk wife doing drinking contest with the crowd (she’s losing), he even recognizes Emile and Ewen who run away from the scene.
Anya is indeed partying in the VIP section with Becky, Damian and other classmates. She didn’t drink but she is the mood of screaming and jumping because the most famous DJ of the moment will perform soon. Suddenly, the artist arrives and the whole club falls in euphoria. The music is awesome, bottles of champagne are popping, Becky threw herself in the crowd like a rockstar and everyone was supporting her. Anya jumps as well after pushing Damian away. They party well and hard for 10 minutes straight, it’s like a Kpop concert.
Suddenly the DJ makes an announcement : he wants to dedicate the next remix to someone : Anya Forger from Cecil Hall. Everyone applauses and Anya is in shock because the lights are on her, she waves and the DJ takes a deeper tone and says : “Your father is waiting for you peanut. And if you don’t cooperate he will call the cops because they are way too much minors in this club.”
Awkward silence and the crowd grabs Anya and carries her next to the DJ who pulls her away alongside with Becky, Emile, Ewen and Damian. The little group got politely kicked out.
Turns out the DJ was Loid and yes, they are all grounded.

spoilery thoughts on the spin off
i'm glad they didn't whitewash Berlin and kept him as the psycho creep he is, i was laughing so hard when he was having his "fuck the french" rant, that's my boy! i've seen some reviews complain that the love story doesn't work cause berlin is creepy but i'm glad he is, he is meant to be a creep and nobody does it better!
they do try to go full romantic in the end there and I dont like that he's still obsessed with her months later, it's more in character for him to lose interest now he's had her and she's become sad and a human being off the pedestal, plus he got the better of the husband so there's no competition left, i figured that's where they were going but apparently not... but then it's left open ended enough that i don't really mind. and i'm glad she got the money though, she deserves to get something out of all this.
i'm glad the blackmail didn't work, that would have been silly if they got the better of Berlin so easily, especially given that camille is... dumb... i'm sorry but... "who could possibly be framing my husband? definetly not the creep who showed up 2 weeks ago and has suspiciously large sums of cash lying around". she's waaay dumber than his usual type, tatiana & palermo & nairobi were all intelligent
i'm glad they explained why this gang isnt in the mint heist, they're all blown and the police has their pictures
i'm cool with bruce/kayla they're cute
i do not give a shit about cameron and her dumbass backstory, she's not tokyo and i didn't like the callback shots or the fact that a guy in a band dating a teenage fan isn't seen as fucked up
damian is also a creep and it makes sense that he would be, as berlin's friend, but I hated that lady hearing him yell at his wife and then still go for him, have some self preservation god!
Idk if they intended for Andres and Roi to come across that gay for each other, probably not, but dude literally emerges from a steamy bathroom with his shirt open and sighs "Roi" come on!
Loved every second of Alicia and Raquel and I wish they'd had more to do!
feminist masterpiece this ain't, but it was a very fun heist romp and kept me entertained and amused throughout
my biggest complaint - WHY THE FUCK DO THEY CALL HIM BERLIN????? that is a code name he doesnt pick until the mint heist!! have some respect for your audience, people are not dumb they can understand that andres = berlin

Berlin quotes that made me scream MARTIN in my head:
Numero uno:
Andres: The love of your life is a fairy tale! I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but … love just fades away. The only thing worthwhile is the beginning. That's the best part of love. When every song you hear reminds you of her. When you're having a meal together and all you do is talk. When everything she says makes you laugh.
Damian: No, no, no. Love is precisely what comes after all that. When the spell is over. Then, during dinner, you're happy to be quiet because you're at peace. To love someone, you must really know them. How can you love someone you don't know?
Numero dos:
(Don't know why the English version didn't translate this, but here it is:) Damian to Andres, while talking about how love ends and makes you suffer: You're a sick narcissist. Crees que estar a tu lado merece ese sufrimiento? (Translation: Do you think that being by your side is worth the suffering?)
Numero tres:
Andres: You see, I have become a fugitive of love. And what I'd really want, if I'm honest, is that it lasts forever. (...) my own experience of love is that it just melts away, you know? I realise the only thing I know, the only thing I've ever known about love is the beginning, but God, what I want, what I really want, is to experience a love that never ends.
((Damian: There's always an end.))
Bonus, because it's about Damian and his wife, Carmen, but it also hit like a line from a Berlermo gifset:
Carmen: Maybe you are the love of my life, but that doesn't mean we'll spend the rest of our lives together.
