Anyone remember the BFF comic? I am very nostalgic for early-2010s webcomics that I read online. The online environment is totally different than today. I just love that This Is Not Fiction is still ongoing. I also have what was published for Todd Allison and the Petunia Violet. There are a bunch other comics that are lost to time like whatever was on Inkblazers. I miss it all.

i was looking through the tags of bffcomic and i saw your reply to the mickey quinn ask, and im curious, was it a bad reaction? bc from what i remember, their characters are 17-18 (which yeah half are still minors but they don't do heavily detailed things like the shit you see on big mouth or smth, its just insinuated that they have sex and etc) and like idk im just curious abt what others really think abt such an old webcomic thats imo WAY more "modest" compared to yaois n yaoi-inspired bls

BFFcomic was actually so crazy

#it was not good but also it was good #it was teen soap opera captured in comic form #the baby subplot in the epilogue. half of the comic being unwritable because the author stopped being friends with another author #we used to be a society #AND THE AUTHOR WENT ON TO WORK ON SNOTGIRL.

ok after reading the bffcomic supposed ending synopsis im kinda glad at where the chapter before ended lol

#having those 2 come clean about everything gay abt them #but then still not being truthful abt still having feelings for each other and going their separate ways to move on was the best outcome tb #bc their relationship reeeeks of that first gay love from in the closet that got too complicated and problematic #and both parties would benefit a lot more from moving on and starting fresh with somebody #i like these sort of bittersweet endings for these sort of things #and of course the baby drama in the supposed final ending was especially not needed lol #anyways enough yaoi talk from me #✍️

A-Am I the only one who ships Vincent and Teddy instead of Louis and Vincent? Like, I know the comic ended a while ago but I don't see any chemistry between Luois and Vincent...

I was going through my sketchbook and I remembered drawing this back in 2014. I honestly can't believe it's been that long and shortly after the creator dropped the comic for good. I hope she's in a better place and I have some hope that she'll pick it up again (probably not). The comic brought me such joy and was something i could share with a great friend of mine. It makes me feel homesick. I love you, stay golden and be great.

Favorite bffs? I don’t think you can go past Paper Girls, Rat Queens or Gotham Academy for some fab friendships. Look up cucumber quest comic dub on youtube and hear Sir Tamato's voice. Try sounding like that but not too raspy and too...angry? Andre Davis: Friendly black guy.Just sound like a friendly dude. You ship Vincent and Teddy too so props to you sir. Penelope Bell: You use Teddy. So. Um..sound cute. Like everyday Kawaii desu anime girl and have sorta an sourhern accent. ive been binging bffcomic today bc like idk i was webcomic browsing and found it randomly again. after myself having grown up a few years like yeah it DOES suffer from that cmon man wtf highschoolers doing sex and drugs thing but like after reading the artist's forewarning at the beginning i can definitely see what they were going for. theres some well deserved criticism but after recalling all the backlash i saw over it and how back then i had fallen into that sort of over critical thinking and blacklisting artists over it thing, i can appreciate it a lot more with more nuanced thinking.

#the horniness DOES get more oppressive as time goes on tho which is like. annoying #but also a story abt a closeted gay 17-18 yr old written by a gay teenager thats a product of its time is probably gonna b like that #its incredibly compelling DESPITE that and maybe i little because of it tbh #✍️
