maika: heads up: if you try to make a candle with food coloring, the food coloring will just sink to the bottom of the glass, and when the flame eventually reaches the bottom, all the food coloring will catch fire and become one giant tall flame that you cannot possibly blow out and the glass will start to crack and then you'll throw your tea on it in a panic and them the extremely hot food coloring will boil and sizzle horribly and then the glass will shatter.

Whenever there's a debate about Tsumugi's claims, i keep thinking back to the prologue where everyone's outfits sere costumes (even k1-b0's, and i think to myself "where the fuck did the robot come from, he was human before the costume bs"

I don't think we really have evidence that he was human beforehand. We don't really have evidence of much when it comes to Keebo during the prologue. He's kind of a blank slate for your interpretations to run wild.

What can we say about K1-B0 as he physically exists in the Prologue vs. how he physically exists in the rest of the game?

Well, we know that he's definitely a robot during Chapters 1-6. Given Miu's interactions with him, the way the antenna controlled him, the switch on the back of his head, printing photos out of his mouth, illuminating things with his eyes, ETC., he's definitely a robot or — at the bare minimum — HIGHLY cybernetic.

What about his prologue self? It's clear that various physical features are missing — most notably the large collar with the green readout and the giant ahoge, although the latter is easy to explain. We eventually learn that the ahoge is the antenna that connects him to audience poll opinions on what actions to take, so it makes sense that he wouldn't have that before the game begins no matter what. But aside from those obvious additions, we can also see that he added a codpiece for some reason, and he probably got some new plating just below his shoulders. Also, those bolts on his forearms probably don't fit into the uniform on the left either. So those arm/shoulder features were probably either added or simply "extended" outwards from a previously folded-in/compressed state.

Oh, and there's the lines under his eyes that were added, too, but I don't really think that's worthy of much attention. Those lines could be anything. They could be guyliner for all I know.

He's otherwise the same, though. Most of his proportions are identical, with the chest and legs particularly standing out as carrying the potential to be identical under the uniform as they are in "robot" form.

Now, I don't think there's any chance that he was turned into a robot. I suppose we don't know for sure that "roboticization" doesn't exist in this world, but it seems like that'd be a REALLY FUCKING BIG leap in logic to make. So I'm going to assume that either Keebo was always a robot (and he just got some added features), OR he was a human at the start and was replaced with a robot double. I'll leave it to you to decide whether that robot was truly autonomous or just remote-controlled from a secure location. Hell, maybe the once-human Keebo has had his brain overwritten to believe that he was always a robot, and then his brain was plugged into something that lets him view from the perspective of/remote-pilot his robot self... ? Did I just go too sci-fi? I DON'T KNOW.

If Professor Idabashi really designed him to live among humans and blend in with them, it's easy to imagine that Keebo should naturally look a lot more like the style on the left. But I can just as easily picture Tsumugi wanting him to look blatantly robotic like on the right. So maybe they stripped his clothes off and redesigned elements of him, or maybe they just added some features to make him even more blatantly robot-y. Maybe the green readout on his collar somehow correlates to the audience feedback his ahoge-antenna receives? Heck, maybe the new shoulder plates are what allow him to slot into his upgrade pack in the final chapter — those wings DO seem to jut out from the same vicinity on his shoulders!

But is there any actual evidence that supports the idea that he's a robot in the prologue? Nothing aside from the extreme similarity to his later self, I suppose. And is there any evidence that supports the idea that he's human in the prologue? Well... there is one thing: His skin tone. Although the difference is incredibly small (with a Delta-E value of just 3.7506), prologue Keebo has just a tiny bit more color to his face than the chalky white of main-game Keebo. I think that provides at least some argument for him being human.

However, as I've already written a bunch about how many of Tsumugi's claims in the ending don't make sense — including her claims of totally concocting their talents — I'm inclined the think he's not really that significantly different from how he was in the prologue. So, to me? He was probably always a robot, and she just made it much more blatant.

But I think you could make a case either way. There's just not enough evidence to be sure of either possibility. Essentially? He's whatever you want him to be.
