This is a seperated au that focuses on Leo and how he grows as he learns what "home" is

Not all the parts are gonna be this long, but I wanted a solid start. I don't have an update schedule either, but feel free to ask questions :D

A bit of background if yall want it:

When Splinter drops Leo in the explosion, all he sees is the turtle disappear into smoke as the lab is actively collapsing. He assumed Leo died and left to make sure none of his other turtles got killed.

Draxum picked up Leo and look care of his wounds. Leo has scrapes on both sides of his shell from being stuck in the ground, along with a scar on his right arm. Draxum tried raising Leo for a few years on his own before realising it would benefit both of them if he had help, so he turned to Big Mama.

Bug Mama and her assisstant, Galileo, help raise Leo for years. Gali teaches Leo how to speak, though he still chirps quite often, especially when sad or startled.

A bit of Gali lore: Big Mama had orignally named her Leo when Draxum gave Gali to BM. Gali didn't like having that as her name, so Big Mama helped her find a new one and they settled on Galileo.

Splinter takes the boys to tour the hidden city so they're not caught off guard by mystic stuff and yokai like he was. That's when Mikey spots Leo on TV and Splinter recognizes the son he thought he lost immediatly :)

About the sword comment: I'll reveal more in the comic itself, but Leo and Draxum made a deal that if Leo could prove his strength by winning the Battle Nexus championship 5 times, he'd train Leo with the mystic sword.

How the Battle Nexus works in this au: there are always battles going on, but once during each season, a championship/tournament is held to name a champion.

This is technically Leo's 7th tournament, but 5th victory

Why is transformers earthspark's IMDB user review section so freaking brutal... it's tanking the show rating to a 6/10 :/ I know it's different, and that it's got a different story and a good megatron this time but jesus, wanna wait til the show is over before you call it the worst of all time? Are you sure you'd watch Energon or BM over this? ES would have to be legitimately egregious to deserve a 1/10 but apparently that's what I've been seeing... and there are very few 5 or 6 out of 10s either. You either love ES or you think it's the most awful schlop Hasbro has made and it's killed your hope for a good tf cartoon. Give earthspark a break people, it's not even on season 2 💀 and didn't we do this song and dance with Cyberverse when it only had 1 season?

Episode 103 Late

It's gonna end the same no matter what you do, so there's no point trying to be tough or brave. Brave isn't part of any of this. Everybody breaks. Everybody.

I have always wondered what did Nick mean when he said this to June. He also says at the end of their conversation “I couldn’t stop them, I’m sorry.” So he knew they were coming and he tried to do something about it. But it’s the everybody breaks that always makes me think, how did they break him? Seems to come from personal experience. What happened to him or what did they use to break him? Why does he also say even before he met June it’s best not to form attachments? We know from the scripts that this was meant to mean his brother.

There’s also “You can't change anything about this. It's gonna end the same no matter what you do, so there's no point in trying to be tough or brave. Brave isn't part of any of this.” We don’t really know what has he done pre Gilead or even in Gilead for or against the regime. It clearly seems he isn’t for the regime but for some just being there means that he agrees with it. Nick decided to become an Eye to spy on the commanders that weren’t following Gilead rules and we also saw that he had good connections with Mayday, but like BM said he tries to stay out of trouble. For me Nick was going through the motions as best as he could. All of that changed with June because I think she gave him purpose and inspired him. Even though he has seen her broken, she always fought back. I hope that what happened to June is season 5 is what breaks him once again and pushes him to do more against the system. Nick has to understand that June and Holly won’t be safe until Gilead is no more just like June has to realize she won’t be able to reunite with Hannah and keep Holly safe until Gilead falls.

A throwback to MCC 13, one of my personal favourites as a Hermitcraft fan.

It's the 7th game. Sands of Time gets played.

It is one of the most chaotic and sad SoT for various teams, including Purple - Grian got locked, being so close to getting blue vault.

After the SoT chaos, Purple decided one thing.

"We need Buildmart."

Now it all comes down to the 8th game. The gap between top 5 teams is so small: Coral is in 1st, Teal in 2nd, Purple in 3rd, Pink in 4th, Emerald on 5th. ANY of these teams could get to dodgebolt.

The available games in the final decision dome for MCC 13 and Season 1 are Survival Games, Big Sales At Build Mart, Sky Battle and Bingo But Fast.

Everyone throws their chickens and powerups into the dome...

IT'S A TIE.

Everyone's hearts are racing.

And the chosen game is...

BUILDMART?!

Purple, Pink and Red are all excited. Coral, Mint, Emerald, Teal and Cyan are mostly... not. Yellow and Sapphire are vibing.

Purple's reaction was gold btw.

It's the LAST MCC of season 1. Everyone is fighting for that dodgebolt spot. Every build matters. Every block matters. Any coins you can get may get you to the top 2.

The game ends. The results are in.

The competitors in dodgebolt are...

TEAL TURKEYS - Krinios, Illumina, Punz and Eret.

PURPLE PENGUINS - Falsesymmetry, Grian, PeteZahHutt and KaraCorvus.

Dodebolt time and... this was a GREAT dodgebolt with tons of great plays.

As a fan of the whole purple team, this whole situation was epic.

From the SoT chaos, then decided they needed BM, to their reactions of BM getting played, then in the last few seconds having a confusion on one build, to realizing they beat Coral by a lot, then seeing the results, the celebration and realizing Sparklez got third (again)...

It was all so good.

its just crazy to me that BM can look at ot and lizzie on screen together , than lizzie and max on screen together and be like yep June and Luke it is. it makes no sense to me

Right? We truly do not understand it. Imagine having Max and Lizzie, who just ooze chemistry, and doing nothing with it for several episodes at a time. Their innate connection brings so much to the show and there is a palpable absence without it. Meanwhile Lizzie and OT are just painful. Everything about them is just blah. The writing for June and Luke already isn't great, but the utter nothingness and cringy energy of Lizzie and OT make a bad thing worse. Choosing to showcase Lizzie and OT over Lizzie and Max is like choosing to eat old dry bread when an exquisite 5 course meal is on the table.

It's like BM is actively making choices to make the show worse, because we cannot make sense of them spending an entire season on June & Luke and Lizzie & OT when Osblaine and Max & Lizzie are right there. Hopefully they'll learn from this grievous mistake next season and make much better choices, and take advantage of Max and Lizzie's beautiful and passionate chemistry and actually give them some screen time.

I found out abt this one through interviews with Lukas Dhonte (who directed Close (2022) one of my favorite movies I've watched all year!). He mentions this book a lot as his main inspiration in constructing the character dynamics in the film. its heavy academic texts but I'm quite liking it!

last show: Just binged the latest season of black mirror! it was mostly good fun, but honestly in generally felt pretty toothless? only one of the episodes out of the 5 really struck me, the way that the best BM eps do.

part 2 of my yj endings/season 5 happenings:

1-mary eventually switches sides after her brother almost dies bcoz of granny

2-supergirl realized she was fooled and eventually turns around and betrays granny, freeing members of the team/jl/outsiders who had been captured (superman included)

3-black racer is a creation of desaad, who found wally in the speedforce somehow someway and decided to brainwash him and make him an experiment of some sort, a weapon of tremendous speed. after sg, big barda and black mary had betrayed apokolypse, darkseid ordered desaad to release the black racer against the heroes. followed by angst w artemis and dick. still am not sure if i’d put black racer in the fighting ranks after bb, bm and sg’s betrayal or after they disappointed granny or smth)

4-artemis also understands why zatanna and m’gann lied to her abt the limbo thing and there’s no drama ok? NONE

5-black mary and emerald empress vs zatanna and billy on daxam. on earth it’s supergirl and granny vs superman, wonder girl (cassie) and superboy. on the watchtower, barda and the rest of the furies vs wonder woman, guy gardner, green arrow and dinah. streets wise, it’s black racer and grayven + parademons vs dick, kaldur, artemis, raquel, tim, bart, etc. grayven is killed during that battle.

6-jason todd is back but refuses to be a part of any of the teams, feeling so angry at the fact that they basically were sending children fighting adults wars.

well, joan wasn't awful at all, but the writing of this sure was.

damn, so this is the ai in the world of entertainment episode that we get? that was kinda bad, ngl. gonna list some thoughts in bullet points cause i'm bad at structuring my thoughts, but here it goes:

netflix episode about netflix fucking over their customers and creatives, not paying their creatives enough, and then having their dumbass show get "cancelled" after one season. haha not funny. didn't laugh.

god the writing is so bad, what the hell happened to this show? this is just like the miley episode, in which i mean they keep talking in catchphrases and funny quips and it drives me insane. it's bad, don't do this. i know you guys can write great stuff.

i mean, the ai stuff is very current, but i don't think it was utilized to its best potential here. the premise just felt so silly and not even remotely possible, not like other bm episodes which truly felt like something that could happen.

i'll say, i did have fun with the malicious compliance plan of joan's. get them, girl. that said, what the fuck.

this one is completely on me but i don't know who salma hayek is so i didn't really laugh. sorry, ma'am.

the plot twist......meh. at least it wasn't 'ai gains sentience and tries to break free' (do Not try to replicate uss callister aka best episode), i appreciate that it was all joan's choice in the end.

What if it is Nick on the wall? I don't know if you've seen it but there is a picture of Lawrence and Lydia looking at a person hanging on the wall. When has Lawrence ever gone near the wall? Never!!! But now he did and he's even staring at the person hanging. That makes me think it could be Nick. Honestly my expectations on season 5 are so low that I'm trying to prepare myself even for Nick's death. Yes, I know he has TT armour but at this point I don't think BM is going to stay true to that.

I get it, believe me, I get it. My expectations for s5 are in the gutter too. If there was something beneath the gutter, my expectations would be there. I have zero faith the show will do right and good by Nick. As I've said before, unfortunately I think everything and anything is possible, even the most awful things we can think of for Nick or Osblaine. I don't trust BM or any of TPTB at the show to remain consistent with what's canon or what's been shown. But we don't know who's on the wall and we don't have any evidence (yet?) one way or another that it is or isn't Nick. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see....

1. Dan his PLANS. You'd think he's taking care of Lucas and Karen, but imo he trying to soften the blow. His ex wife tried to kill him just off him being him. Imagine what Keith's BM/Fiancé and Nephew-son will do when they find out what he did.

20240129. Mechamato Movie, Japanese dub! :D

So minggu ni ialah minggu pertama Mechamato Movie versi bahasa Jepun ditayangkan kat pawagam Malaysia. Kali ni sambutan agak kureng la makcik tengok, maybe sebab sekarang ni musim peperiksaan. Ataupun sebab Mechamato Movie ni ialah movie sama pernah tayang tahun 2022-2023, cuma tukar bahasa je.

So target audience mainly ialah yang dah tengok Mechamato Movie versi bahasa Melayu, dan jugak orang yang minat siri Mechamato versi Jepun. (Tapi kalau first time tengok pun boleh je, ada subtitle BM, BI ngan BC. Cuma tu la, sape suruh tertinggal banyak keretapi tengok versi Melayu - pawagam, Netflix, Astro First, dll. tahun lepas. Sekarang baru sibuk nak tengok versi Melayu. Dulu taknak tengok.)

Anyway. Perbandingan Mechamato Movie Japanese ngan Mechamato Movie BM:

1) Memandangkan VA untuk versi Jepun rata2 ialah non-Muslim, movie jugak ditayang kepada non-Muslim, memang mustahil la nak jumpa ucapan2 yang karekter2 Muslim ni sebut.

Assalamulaikum & Wa'alaikumsalam jadi "Ittekimasu" (saya pergi dulu) dan "Itterasshai" (selamat jalan) - diucapkan oleh Amato & makpaknya bila Amato keluar rumah.

The meremang-inducing Bismillah oleh Maskmana semasa nak buka jurus silat melawan Grakakus jadi "Kakugo shiro" (bersedialah kamu). Auto jadi tak remang.

Tapi kena faham. Audience untuk versi Jepun kebanyakannya ialah non-Muslim. Islam ialah agama minoriti kat sana. Dan banyak orang kat luar sana masih salah anggap Islam ni ialah... (faham2 sudah). So bagi hakak ni kira jalan selamat la supaya tak dicari point buruk oleh "nurtizen" (keyboard warriors) kat luar sana.

Tapi bila benda ni dibesarkan oleh team Monsta sendiri yang (1) sorang pun tak ada pergi tengok / pantau proses alih suara kat Jepun ke? dan (2) insist nak jugak ada Bismillah padahal benda dah siap ni, I be like "errr..." 🤦

2) Lagu "Temaniku" dinyanyikan balik ke bahasa Jepun dengan tajuk "Tomodachi". Suka versi ni. Hahaha jahat je

3) Lagu BBB (??? Beca Boys) dipotong so tinggal babak kejar-mengejar antara robot suruhan Grakakus dengan Amato + Mechabot versi Mechabeca. First timer maybe tak akan perasan, tapi mungkin perasan jugak sebab sebelum adegan kejar-mengejar ni, memang ada pertandingan beca tercantik dan Datuk Bandar ada umum persembahan oleh BBB (tapi benda ni tak berlaku).

4) Mid-credit scene pasal Boboiboy dipotong dan ditukar kepada secret ending team Maskmana jumpa Bago Go, tetiba abahnya Amato (Aba) muncul (movie BM tak ada benda ni, tapi YT Monsta ada kalau tak silap).

Ingatkan ada la versi Boboiboy kat end credit bila mid-credit ditunjuk secret ending team Maskmana + Aba tu, tapi takde. Hampa makcik. Hahaha

Maybe sebab BBB series, BBBM & BBBM2 tak sampai ke Jepun, idk. Atau maybe belum / kurang popular kat Jepun. Padahal boleh je guna mid-credit tu untuk (re-)introduce Boboiboy, cumanya faham2 je la, kena start daripada 1st season semasa 3-D animation belum canggih lagi.

5) Dari segi voice acting, Jepun ada ekspresi bagus. Tapi benda simple macam "Apakah??" dan "Tingginya!" dipanjang2kan.

So "Apakah??" jadi something like, "What the bloody hell is that???" dan "Tingginya!" jadi something like, "Whoaaaaaa it's too high, I'm falling!!!" (Bukan ayat Jepun sebenar. Makcik bukannya terer sangat bahasa Jepun boleh ingat ayat diorang sebiji-sebiji lol tapi memang panjang. Banyak pulak cakapnya.)

Sama la signature Amato, "Kan?" jadi "Da~yo na!"

So yeah, mulut tak sync dengan ucapan. (Kena faham, re-rendering mulut nak bagi sync dengan ucapan versi Jepun = belanja extra. Tak puluh ribu, juta. Sape nak bazir duit cenggitu 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂)

Ha tu je la yang makcik nak cakap. Memang spoil gila2 la kalau korang tak tengok movie ni tapi pergi cari review dulu.

The first day had so much happen goodness, I really couldn’t avoid the inevitable huh? Had to kill og f!leo because it’s his canon event, no matter how many times I try to rewrite it lol

Holidays are over and we’re back down to recording. I think the track we’re working on right now is my favorite thing we’ve come up with so far. Sounds almost like “Cop” SWANS meets super skuzzy early 90s DM meets the relentlessly rolling tribal toms from The Cure’s “Hanging Garden” shot through with eerily glowing veins of radioactive electronic noise.

Now the question is: Do we wanna buy a cheap telecaster and try to to do some really scratchy/ scrapey Santiago Durango type shit over top of a couple of songs? -

I have neither the time nor the patience to write about all of these albums individually right now, but I’ll do as many as I can before I have to put this down and go be productive… Long story short: It’s been a hectic week and the holiday season is always kind of a bummer for me so I’ve been retreating into a bunch of older favorites more than I’ve been seeking out anything new. -

SvartidauðI - Flesh Cathedral - This is a weird opinion founded in nothing but my own personal tastes, but I think Flesh Cathedral is probably my favorite Icelandic black metal record. Floored me so fucking hard when it came out back in 2012. Cavernous. Evil. Remember thinking it sounded like Deathspell Omega on steroids. -

Sinmara - Aphotic - Close second Icelandic BM album just behind that SvartidauðI. Sounds like nearly freezing to death before getting chucked into a fucking volcano. -

Godflesh - Godflesh EP -

Bathory - Hammerheart - “Baptized in Fire and Ice” is probably my favorite song of all time, period. Maybe tied with Venom’s “Manitou.” Whole album rules. -

Samael - Ceremony of Opposites -

Rotting Christ - Thy Mighty Contract - In my eyes Rotting Christ’s first four albums are absolutely unfuckwithable. I love how this album sounds really skuzzy, but still has all these soaring Maidenesque leads all over it. -

Starkweather - Croatoan - I‘ve had the creepy clean vocal “what makes love so frightening“ middle section of Silken Garrote/ Infinity Coil stuck in my head on and off for like the past month and a half.

Big Black - Atomizer - Top 5 favorite album of all time for me. Hard to even put into words why. Something about the willful nastiness of it all… And also that hearing a really fucked up sounding band use a drum machine made me think “oh shit I could totally get a drum machine and do this myself” back when I was a weirdo teenager that lived in the middle of nowhere and had no friends, let alone friends that played drums. -

Anorexia Nervosa - New Obscuratantis Order - Straight up, that album cover has always sketched me the fuck out, but goddamn... This album is just insanely fast in places. Scratches the trillion mile per hour icy-cold 90s black metal itch that I always feel so acutely this time of year. -

Alice In Chains - Dirt -

Lustmord - Heresy - The sound of a gaping hole in the earth that leads to a cold, lonely, hell. Bleak as fuck. -

Video Games:

Warm Snow - Blood splattered samurai rogue-lite… Picked it up after hearing it compared to Hades cos I liked Hades way more than I thought I would. So far the combat feels fast and satisfying even if I can only get to the second boss before getting absolutely fucking bulldozed. -

Sanabi - Grappling hook cyberpunk ninja game with a 90s Image Comics meets 80s action movie style plot. Gameplay reminds me of a cross between Celeste, Speedrunners, and the old NES Bionic Commando. Pretty awesome. -

Reading:

The Elric Saga: Book 1 - Michael Moorcock - I keep starting this collection ‘cos I’ve really wanted to read the Elric stuff since I was a teenager, but every time I start the first chapter it seems like life gets super busy and I have to put it down almost immediately. Been forcing myself to read a couple pages before bed and feel like I’m finally making progress. -

Monsters in Print - Adam Benedict - Collection of old timey newspaper articles about monsters, pretty easy to read a few quick snippets and go on about your day. -

I’ve had zero time to sit and watch movies this week… I think I’ve watched like half of two episodes of The Great British Baking thing that my wife is obsessed with, and that’s been pretty much it.
