Did Brambleclaw actually disown the Three when the secret is revealed? I don't remember this happening (then again, it's been a while) but it does bug me how all three go "Poor brambleclaw :(( He was such a good dad to us and he has to learn we're not even his biokits :(((( poor guy" while simultaneously shitting on Leafpool and Squirrelflight despite them showing them more care and affection before AND after the reveal. If he does disown them, then.... WOW is the double standard real here.

In-canon? It's something you have to approximate. They don't seem to have a concept of ""disowning"" because blood relation is taken as such an insurmountable, FUNDAMENTAL fact of life. He doesn't write them out of his little kitty will and testament, but his actions ARE disowning.

It's as if the fact he is not their biological father is an automatic disowning. From the reveal onwards, he is immediately cold, distant, and the "betrayal" is mentioned often. The Three also explicitly don't blame him for his behavior, like it's just to be expected that he's Not Their Dad anymore.

Lionblaze in particular stares longingly at him several times, really missing him. And like... that's kinda what gets my goat so much

I do believe Brambleclaw is entitled to his feelings of betrayal. I believe Squilf was ultimately in the right to lie, actually, but he's still allowed to be upset and angry that she didn't trust him enough to tell him something so important. THAT SAID, YOU ARE NEVER ENTITLED TO TREAT OTHERS POORLY.

And that's what GETS me. He isn't upset that it was all revealed in such a painful and embarassing way when this could have been avoided, or that his lover struggled with this lie for so long without him, or that he feels he's lost his children. Squilf points it out in The Last Hope-- He's so ANGRY at Squilf that he will THROW HIS FAMILY AWAY

Lionblaze seems desperate to be his son again. Hollyleaf is gone for months, and Brambleclaw is still huffing about the secret when she comes back from the dead. Squilf is fawning in the hopes it makes him talk to her again. Doesn't matter. Brambleclaw Is Upsetti Spaghetti so the narrative will never examine his role in hurting this family he apparently loved so much.

(Narrative seems to understand full well that when Squilf lies for a good reason, that doesn't invalidate the hurt Brambleclaw felt... but when Brambleclaw is upset for a good reason, it actually DOES validate what he put her and his kids through)

In BB it is explicitly a disowning. He cuts them off as his children, and they reciprocate. BB!Lionblaze does so in a ball of fury, vowing that he has ONLY a mother.

On the disowning front #Lion seems to be fixing his relationship with him #Which... actually is something I dislike tbh #Can we pls get canon acknowledgement of the Little Pogchamp scene where he lets Ash beat his son #And downplays this to holly #Pls #Idk i just feel lion makes a better mama's boy #Really close to squilf and then like... tries to get close to Leafp too but it just. Hi! Hello! Want a Felix analysis? Of course you do!

Felix is, largely, the epitome of "too little, too late."

Him caring for, helping and attempting to right his wrongs with Adrien have only come about because of a situation in which Felix really had no other choice. I don't know if I could ever see Felix giving Adrien actual advice in an attempt to protect or save him without it literally being an end of the world scenario that directly involved him.

However. I don't think Felix is wholely selfish. Felix' motives have just about outright been confirmed to be "Help Adrien now, even at the cost of my own life" something he never would have done if he hadn't been forced into this situation, and probably if he never met Kagami. I think she helped round out his moral compass. I think Felix is really, really trying to be good. And a song lyric fits this situation I think!

I've already mentioned it on AO3 but they're really like what Gabriel and Nathalie would've been if Gabriel just took her advice of doing the right thing. But back on topic.

I think Felix, in his own way in the beginning of the show, thought he WAS helping Adrien. In his own sick, twisted and selfish way he probably thought he was toughening him up. Helping him see not everyone is good at heart... But Adrien already knew that. Felix' major flaw is that he really doesn't know people as well as he thinks he does. Especially not Adrien.

Adrien isn't a naive bleeding heart, he's an optimist who gives people chances even if they don't deserve it, not because he thinks they'll be better, but because he wants them to be. So he shows them kindness, he shows them he can and will be there for them IF they make that change. He knows Lila is lonely. He knows Chloe means well.

And he knows Felix is afraid and lonely too. He knows he means well. He wants to help him. He wants to be his best friend again.

And I think Felix finally caught onto that, but probably not before breaking the trust Adrien had in him being a good person. I think they care deeply for each other, they almost have to, but I think while Felix finally found his way to being there for and truly helping Adrien, I think Adriens finally taken Felix' advice.

And I think it's gonna be their undoing. They both got what they wanted from the other, but not how they wanted, and too little, too late for it to matter.

Cause Adrien has no one anymore. He has no true support. Felix is keeping him in the dark of his true intentions, so how could he know he has help? Even Felix has a support system in his mom and Kagami.

Felix got what he wanted all along. Adrien has no one, he's keeping secrets and rebelling and he's self reliant.

I can only imagine how horrified he must be now at what he's done. What he caused. But how wonderfully Felix is it that it took this to show him the error of his ways.

And he's gonna fix it. He has to. There's no other choice for him anymore. And Kagami can see through his lies, except for the big one. The one that matters.

And I wonder if by the time she realizes it, it'll be too little and too late.

hah, i love the conception we have of odnlb felix now as the world's most reluctant brother. in the situation he's in now, of course he HAS to help adrien. if he doesn't help adrien, they both die. that's motive enough, he doesn't NEED to care about adrien as a person.

but...he might just anyway?

the peacock miraculous played a big part in showing felix how wrong he is about people. he was wrong about adrien being a wide-eyed, bleeding heart idiot; he was wrong about kagami wanting nothing to do with him if she found out he wasn't human, and he was wrong about gabriel. isn't it so ironic that once felix obtained the brooch, a symbol of pride, he finally realized his own? and isn't it so delicious that being wrong is what he's been the most afraid of, especially when it opens him up to love more?

i definitely see the gabenath parallels, which were um. so intentional. given that nathalie is dead in this fic, that puts kagami in an interesting position. i'm not going to specify what happened to nathalie yet, but just think about how interesting it is that feligami is the new gabenath :)))

aahh the felix and adrien dynamic, perfectly captured in your heartbreaking analysis. while felix cared for adrien and hurt him, adrien cared for felix and became more like him. it was something neither of them wanted for each other, and yet they continue to love one another more despite the pain. you pointed out that adrien has nobody anymore, which utterly ruined me. but don't worry, adrien is ruined by it too, and so is felix for causing it. the thing is, felix has been wrong before and knows that he's fallible now. trying to fix and lie and make amends in his felix way is just as susceptible to failure as any other method. wow, i wonder if he feels like a monster sometimes :')

NO WAY im so glad i finally got this question because my answer is so fucking random and obscure. but okay so vlad is from russia right, so he has a russian accent, but hes spoken english for many many years now so it isnt nearly as thick as it used to be. but anyways his voice claim is literally this random dude on youtube who teaches russian to english speakers its this guy

i think that ea vlad specifically would speak like jeremy irons, the man who voiced scar in the lion king (the original not the god awful cgi remake), but ea vlad and my vlad are like two separate characters so my vlad specifically is very soft spoken. he has a pretty voice, the kind of voice the main love interest in a vampire romance story ought to have :-)
