It’s just… it is everything that Cardan thought Jude would notice his “SO OBVIOUS” exile riddle and thinks Jude to not hesitate to come back. Beside his certainty of her cleverness to piece the riddle together, he believed he was that clear about his feelings toward her; he had thought she absolutely ought to know how he feels for her.
Like oh buddy. BUDDY. Your wife had thought of the answer to your little riddle like you thought she would. But guess what? She has detrimental TRUST ISSUES. (Like… Ur super mean and hot, I can’t blame her.) Anyway.. it’s SUPER adorable of him to so wholeheartedly believe she wouldn’t question his trust. It reveals so much about his pov of thier relationship.
Jude thought Cardan’s (silly) trick was a (vile) trick, when it was simply a: “Im trying to impress/pay you back in kind with our romantic metaphorical sparring and eventually get you out of political drama for a bit,” trick.
I’m fucking laughing wow these delusional ass children I fucking love them.

Ivan: He didn’t come home again last night.
Oscar: Well.. he ain’t gonna be cheating on you, is he?
Ivan: I dunno…
Oscar: C’mon, he can barely strike up a conversation with a tree. Who’s he gonna be cheating on you with?
Ivan: A lumberjack?
Oscar: Pfha-.. right.
Byrd: Daddy look! I’m a dancerina!
Oscar: An amazing one at that! He wants a tutu...
Ivan: Wren too?
Oscar: [cackles] God, no.. she’d probably clog the shitter with it.
Ivan: He can have one of Pixie’s-.. I’ll bring it next time.
Oscar: Alright.
Ivan: I gotta drop Jude off, anyway…
Oscar: Try not to stress about it, eh?
Ivan: Jude, Jessie, or Bruno?
Oscar: All of it, man.. I dunno.
[Ivan snorted, rolling his eyes at Oscar and ruffling Byrd’s hair as he headed outside to fetch Jude]
...
[Robin idly twirled a daisy between his fingertips, his and Jude’s legs sprawled beside each other as they lay in the long grass]
Robin: It might not be so bad; you’ll probably make loads of new friends n’ stuff.
Jude: Maybe, but I wanted us to go to big school together.
Robin: Why, so I could sit around not talking to you?
[Jude scoffed a half-hearted laugh]
Jude: I’d still prefer-…
Ivan: Jude!
Jude: Gotta go! See you next week.
Robin: You’re not sticking around for the weekend?
Jude: Mom n’ Gavin are having some sorta party they want me there for on Saturday.
Robin: Sucks to be you.
Ivan: How y’doin’, bud.. enjoyin’ the treehouse?
Robin: Uh-huh.
Jude: No grown-ups allowed though!
Ivan: Rude.
[Ivan chuckled as he threw his arms around Robin and squeezed him farewell; he gave the best bear hugs]
Ivan: I’m gonna bring y’brother a tutu next time, fancy one?
Robin: I’m good, thanks.
Ivan: How ‘bout you?
Jude: Only if it’s blue.
Ivan: I’ll see what I can do.
Robin: You’re both poets-…
Jude: And we didn’t know it!

Meet this chucklefuck
His name is Pascal
Short for Giuseppe Pascallis Jaleppino Edvard Stefano Dimitri Jaloro Pepperman-Spaghetti
That's right, you read the surnames correctly. He is a Pepperino fankid
ramble and more drawings under the cut if you managed to survive the first part
If I had a nickel for everytime I made fankids, I would have two. Which isn't a lot but it is weird that it happened twice.
And brother? I'm happy about it jsrgksrb
Pascal is a jaloro pepper and since his parents are so shit at naming him, they straight up put his pepper type as a name. but yes, they're a real thing and they're so cute. Jaloros are just yellow jalapenos
I also tried to make him simultaneously look like a pepper and a mango to complement how Pepperman looks like an apple. but also while drawing the sprite mock ups, I realized that at a certain pose he sorta looks like a pizza slice. I win either way bfsjbgksjr
He does not want to be an artist or a chef but he does have the inherited naturality of both which landed him a job as a barista. and of course, he could only work for one place which is the Noisette Cafe. It kinda gave him a little trouble getting hired cuz 1.) Peppino does not like how his son is about to work for his rival's girlfriend and 2.) Noisette is fucking terrified of Pepperman. You think she's gonna let his son who is one foot taller work for her 😭
But still, Noisette is way too kind that Peppino forgets why he has a problem with her and Pascal is way softer than both his dads surprisingly. It's ironic how Peppino and Pepperman are these barbarians of people and their kid ended up being the forestcore aestethic. He is never beating the allegations lmao, he's gonna be THAT softboy
But don't get me wrong, he can be a combination brutal and berserk when pissed off. He still has the same strength as his dads, mind you. Mostly Pepperman's brute and Peppino's street smarts
And their patience too.
People expect him to be as manly lol but like nahh he just wanna chill and be a nerd dork
And if anyone's wondering, it was obviously Pepperman who spawned him. In the human au tho? I have a perfect answer for that lmao. ahem
My Pepperman has and always been intersex lmao. That is it, that is all you need to know how Pascal can theoretically be made
Plants being plants man, they're really weird. Pepper is simultaneously mom, dad, uncle, and aunt lmao. Tho Pas calls him both mom and dad because it would be so fucking funny and he calls Peppino papi
He's very tender mostly cuz he did not inherit Pepperman's narcissism but he did inherit that kindness that Pepperman tries so hard to hide. And of course, Peppino's anxiety and impulses.
As a kid, Peppino is the brooding hen between him and Phil. He'd be the one who double checks triple checks if it's safe to let baby Pascal do his thing.
Pepperman on the other hand, he holds baby Pas like a rubber ball. Peppino tries not to get his kid killed because of how his wife holds it 😭
Oh also in a few of em, you can see little interactions with @beefy-the-stronk's Jude. They're simultaneously cousins and siblings. Also don't question it. Just imagine there's two Peppermans gbsjbgrksj
Also Gustavo is the godfather. I only had Pascal for three days but I would die for him
Anyway, if you made it this far, I thank you but alas. That is all for now bgjsbgjksr

Jude and Max 🌈
—
I mentioned a few months ago how I was going to make original characters inspired by Dean and Cas simply because I wanted original characters to draw for my art portfolio and it can’t be fanart.
However, despite it being a haha thing with not much thought behind it, I have developed them into full fledged characters now!
Their full names are Maxwell Clarence Charleston (Born 1830) and Jude Smith (born 1980). I’ll be making more art with them and explaining their background and story and I can’t wait to continue developing them!
Jude is an avid movie buff and loves books. He’s a big fan of old classic horror movies and collects old Hollywood memorabilia and his favorite TV show is Gunsmoke. He loves Skittles and wants to be a movie director.
Max loves being outside and during his nature walks would often collect flowers and leaves to press into his book. He’s a big science guy and loves learning new things about the world and dreams of traveling. He also really likes coffee lol.
That’s obviously not all to them, but I figure this can be their official introduction! I wanted them side by side their inspiration which is Dean and Cas of course!
I imagine I’ll be drawing these four together more lol just for fun
(Why does the Vertigo cover look like Nic Cage lmao)

Wait okay so we all know Cardan stopped Locke from dancing with Jude at Dain’s coronation. I just realized he knew Jude couldn’t pull away from Locke even if she wanted to, since mortals can’t stop dancing once started unless someone stops them or until the music stops. I think when Jude started tearing up Cardan realized she must have wanted to stop, because she would never willingly cry in front of anyone, especially an entire room filled of folk. So he intervenes and ends up dancing with her, letting her go shortly after probably because saving her from dancing was his intention in the first place.
It makes me think about how Jude sees Taryn after Cardan gets Locke away, when she wonders if Cardan said anything to Taryn because of the look on her face. I imagine Cardan had said something, and that it was to push Taryn to stop their dance. When Jude is about to cry, maybe he realizes that even then Taryn won’t do anything, so he gives up and stops it himself.

Jude ! space au sneak peek ! 🫶
He's brought fruit, cutting into the supple skin gently, working his way around the soft pits that lie within.
He hands you slices as he cuts them and you gladly take them. to your delight the fruit is cold, must’ve been put in the fridge.
You happily lap at the sweet nectar that spills from each bite.
“What's it like. “ he whispers into the breeze.
You don't need to ask what he means. You know. You don't mind humoring him. The least you can do in favor of all he's given you.
“It's beautiful Jude. The stars are so bright and space is so big. You have enough room to feel free,” you sigh, leaning against him, " I remember when I chased my first comet and I had to clean out the stardust from my engine for a week. “
He hums. getting up.
“I'll see you in a bit. The doctor up the hill needs me to look at his son's hover bike. “
“Be safe. “ you whisper.

The Joker And The Queen (Jurdan's Version)
"How was I to know? / It's a crazy thing" fits incredibly well for them. on one side, we have jude - all she knows is cardan hating her. he insulted her, kicked dirt in her food, almost killed (!!) her, how was she to know he loved her?? or tolerated her at all?? on the other side, there's cardan - for me, these lyrics represent how low he thinks of himself. his own family didn't love him, so why would anyone else do it voluntarily? with the two of them, it's anything but - though it still counts to him.
"I showed you my hand / And you still let me win" they both showed their weaknesses during the series - behind the dais in TWK, jude's constant mortality, cardan's confession in TCP,.. there's more of these moments than one might guess.
"And who was I to say / That this was meant to be?" it would've been fatal for jude to say it. she herself would've thought she'd gone mad. a mortal and a fae prince? yes, right. and cardan for, again, thinking nobody would want what was left of his heart.
"The road that was broken / Brought us together" is there anything more jurdan?? there road was not just a bit broken, it was DESTROYED. betrayal, lies, deceiving, murder. come on.
"When I fold, you see the best in me" for jude, folding represents her mortality, her weakness even when she is stronger than most. she can't escape it, no matter what. cardan on the other hand told her he always thinks about her, which was one of the first big steps to their end. he also involuntarily showed his cards when jude saw balekin and him in his room.
"I've been played before" ironic considering most times they played each other.
"So I kept my cards close to my foolproof vest" cardan hid his attraction to her with utter hatred, it was truly foolproof - at least it worked on jude.
"And then you went all in / And we left together" to me, this screams the serpent scene in TQoN. she had to risk everything, but in the end they came out of it together.
"And I know you think that what makes a king is gold / A palace and diamond rings" cardan knew next to nothing about ruling when he was put on the throne, but it's not the first thing that comes to mind. i can imagine jude telling cardan that when he has doubts, telling him that despite what he thinks, there's more to being a king than gold (i could get into the silver to gold pipeline but i promise i won't)
"When I folded, you saw the best in me" cardan admires her mortal beauty like no other, he saw the best of her, the parts she despised most in her situation, when she decided to take that leap of faith. even when cardan was a serpent, she saw her husband, not just a monster. even when cardan was a serpent, he saw his wife, not just a target.

a little thing I like about this episode is the way it sets up Jon's injury to his hand:
first it shows us the consequences of hand + molty wax person in Jude's own statement ("It would be a long time before I was able to use the hand again,") then it shows us Jude is also a molty wax person, and then of course Jon shakes her hand anyways and screams.
So afterwards, we don't need a scene of a doctor/hospital telling us, 'yup, this hand is seriously burned alright and will hurt to use for a long time', because we already know that and can just move on to the interesting scenes

i just know that at some point in the mortal world cardan and vivi went shopping together and picked out these fits and then wore them out to some double date dinner and jude and heather just straight up acted like they didn’t know them
“ma’aam the man with the glitter over there keeps pointing to the words ‘bad bitch’ on his shirt, to you, and then to his ring”
“that’s crazy man idk, maybe you should kick him out?”
