When they say persistence is key, they mean it. I been fighting for my business, trying different ways to sustainably evolve so we don't become another victim of the pandemic. The method that's been most successful calls me out of my comfort zone and has been most challenging to embrace.
As one who likes to just live life, enjoying the energy of the world I've created for and by myself without the encumbrance of stopping to invite people along, this new shift where I open and welcome the public in to see and join me on my journey is uncomfortable. The point was to show the world who I am and what I'm about so that you understand the powerful energy you're tapping into when you choose to employ Talitha Dance to assist you on your wellness journey.
Since last July, I've been struggling to find that balance between sharing and recharging so that I still have the peace of living freely & unobserved in my sphere while you have the insight you need to understand how this energy can help you reach your goals. Finally, I feel a slow shift in the public response manifesting in my business.
I'm so incredibly proud of the 4 women that came through to class last month. I've gotten to know each of them personally and their goals and even though none of them knew each other, their attendance made class feel like an intimate party amongst friends. Our class has effectively evolved to become more personal, which was the goal.
So I'm extending the invitation to you. If you've been wanting a shift in energy, looking for a change in a positive direction, or just needing a boost of good vibes to encourage you along your way, we have a Zumba dance party coming up on March 10 at 3pm to welcome Spring. It's $15 and you will walk away feeling lifted, empowered, and ready for whatever comes next. Register at talithadance.com to attend, just know whether you do or don't, I'm as proud of you as I am of myself because we are out here still pushing for the life we want. Keep going, keep growing fam. We got this.

for this first session, we'll be watching the first of three movies: My Hero Academia: TWO HEROES ! dates for the other two will be determined at a later date, but will most likely take place the same time as this one, as determined by poll last week.
here's the important bits !!
date: SUNDAY, 2/11
time: 6:00 pm, EST
to keep things accessible, we'll be watching the english dub with english subtitles.
the movie will be hosted on WATCHPARTY. the link to the room will be posted the day of. you do not need an account to use watchparty, but perhaps changing your chat name to your url or screen name would be helpful in identifying you.
everyone's invited ! feel free to reblog this if you're into that i guess — and invite your friends !!
that being said, i have no idea how many people will actually join in. it very well may be just me lmao but i know big watchparties can get out of hand sometimes. let's keep things safe and enjoyable for everyone, yeah ? blatant disregard of this statement will earn you a swift kick and potential ban from future watchparties hosted by me.
Today was 45 minutes of cardio, a shorter strength session (15 mins), then 30 or so stretching.
Blood sugar does not come down during exercise, it seems, but after, which Dr. Google says is normal... 🤷♀️ Mine seems to go up during sleep, which makes sense, I guess, cos I eat my main meal in the evening... maybe I should go for a walk after dinner or something to reduce that impact?

Dance is life, artistic expression, culture, art and joy. I develop creativity, and this is an important way to communicate. While dancing, we can express our state of mind by being energized by the fact that we have endorphins, which we are responsible for, to make you feel happy and happy! ❤️

Hello! First off, wanted to say that seeing u do ur thing has helped me a lot in my recovery. Thank u, truly! 2nd (& I hope this is OK to ask abt… if not, pls just disregard this), what has ur experience been like keeping ur fitness up as ur body changes? I know in the past youve mentioned not being into “loss of fitness” stuff, and I’m not either— I’m hoping to gain muscle along w fat as I continue and maintain my flexibility/agility as much as possible, but it’s so hard to find any realistic reference on that experience esp as a trans person (aka gym is intimidating and time is limited, mega-audhd, etc)!
Flexibility is the most important thing for me personally in maintaining my strength and agility. Exercising my balance is also really important to me, and something that has helped me a lot in feeling like I have control and familiarity with my body. It was especially important for me while I was actively gaining super fast, it makes it so much more enjoyable.
Losing fitness to me isn't so daunting when I think about not being able to do certain tasks, but the idea of feeling like I can't do things that I enjoy like dancing or doing things that make me feel grounded is something I'd like to avoid. I stretch daily! I focus a lot on my hips, back, arms, neck, and feet! I massage my feet a lot and stretch them as much as possible because strong feet are important to be able to carry your newly acquired weight! I do whatever feels good in my body, which means that even if I set out to do some lunge squats or jumping squats I usually abandon those for deep stretches and yoga poses. I like strength training stuff at home, but unless I'm feeling really excited to participate I won't push myself.
I drink a lot of water and make sure to eat things that make my body feel good, like ancestral foods and foods that I love that give me energy, and I find joy in moving to music or to stim or doing interpretive dance.
That's the extent of my fitness routine, and honestly I feel very limber and springy and I can keep up with my peers, so that's good enough for me! I'm sorry if this isn't helpful ♡ but it's all so subjective! Only do what feels good, and if it feels good, do it as often as possible ♡
First workout of the week. Been either tired, cold, or discouraged this week, but finally got my shit together and did something . It seems a bit warmer out today also, so will aim for a walk later as well.
