Drawing them with a baby yesterday made me think about if I thought Prestonbart would have kids and the answer is not necessarily but IF they were to have a kid, it would be in this sort of constellation. Carol decides to have a kid, asks Bart and/or Preston to be a known donor, they discuss this with each other and eventually decide yeah, a kid sounds rad, but they'd like to be properly involved, as dads not just fun uncles. So -- et voilà -- three parent family. Also, the free space in this image bothers me immensely.

if bart brought kon to manchester and told the homies that he was his boyfriend, i KNOW the whole town would be gossiping over how some basic white boy done stole carol’s man while she was away at harvard……. carol’s not mad since they broke up amicably years ago, but the rest of manchester would scrutinize every inch of kon tryna figure out what their man bart sees in that wet towel. preston and rollie at least try to be nice for respectability’s sake, but max and kon have beef on SIGHT. helen’s just happy bart didn’t leave for the next century. barry cameos to teach bart how to commit time crimes without the jailtime.

i don't think dc could ever release anything better than impulse 1995 like that was their best nothing can touch it in my eyes. like the intricate and personal relationships between bart and the people around him like max, helen, preston, carol etc him just BEING a kid whilst also being impulse and eventually settling down into a strange unfamiliar world and like even the relationship between him and thad because each of barts relationships goes further than skin deep and because he doesn't think too much about them either but he does at the same time too and it's just something to special to me that i fear nobody understands because bart allen impulse is such a complex character i could talk about forever about his relationships between each of the people in his lives cuz even if they seem insignificant bart makes them significant and i'll just shut up now.

I love how Preston and Carol both just randomly showed up in Impulse #41 to help him decide on an outfit for a dance. Not just Carol. Still some pretty big bi signals here.

It's also interesting that Preston doesn't ask why they are doing this, there is no dance in Manchester right now. I guess he could have said it was for a random date but you know Preston is going to be on his ass about that. Which still leads me to think he knows he's Impulse he's just smart enough to keep his mouth shut.

The fact Preston had no idea that Bart was Impulse, and yet still made the funniest ribbing sort of comments that imply that he actually knew that Bart was Impulse is hilarious to me.

He is just so close to the truth whenever he does this in front of Bart, and I can't believe they didn't let Bart tell him in the end.
