Okay, I just read Volume 20 of the manga and I have a lot of thoughts...but one that I really want to spit out is about Akutagawa's death.
During the fight, he CONTINUOUSLY brings up Dazai. How he wants Dazai's approval. How he's going to LIVE and make it back to Dazai. How he doesn't have much time left so he really needs that approval before he expires. Basically, him (ironically) associating living and Dazai together. To get Dazai's acknowledgement is to live.
And yet.
And YET.
His death wasn't an accident, at least not entirely.
Even Fukuchi acknowledged that from the beginning, taking into account the space-time sword, Akutagawa's plan was to let ONLY Atsushi escape.
Did Akutagawa know he would be instakilled? I think he strongly suspected it considering how Fukuchi was doing his best to kill them.
Essentially, what I'm saying is that provided all that context, Akutagawa basically CHOSE to die when throughout the whole fight his only thought was to live, live, live (for Dazai). The arc isn't over yet (and I honestly have little faith this will happen) but I'm gonna hope anyway that this is symbolic of Akutagawa finally letting go of his deep desire to live for Dazai's approval and maybe starting to build something new...a new reason to live?
As in, him choosing death - choosing ATSUSHI - was his way of saying, "Okay. I see only one of us can make it out...I can't fight this man and beat him (which he did say). I won't live for Dazai's approval now. I can't. So I'll instead choose to die so that there is a chance Atsushi can save the world and clear the Agency's name."
Basically, I'm playing on the age old death and rebirth motif to say Akutagawa dying for Atsushi rather than living for Dazai's approval is his way of growing from his past obsessions and perhaps beginning to build a new reason to live (by dying for it heh...).

Columbina and the House of Hearth.
Columbina, alternatively known as Damselette or Lelyah, has a connection to the HOH, even from back when the Director ran the place and all those that preceded them before The Knave took over.
Given her origin as a valkyrie warrioress, she is a born warfare master. She may seem to be the lazy kind and someone who hardly look the part but thats all a facade, considering that up to 3th, they can match and even best the divines, still, all the Harbingers likely can go toe to toe with Celestia.
HOH is where soldiers are made, wheter its employing brute force, psychological methods, medical expertise & so forth, trust in Columbina to teach them further than what they graduated for. One can't be too careful in such an unforgiving world after all.
Teaching aside, she would oft visit by, entertain the children, watch their progress, sing them to sleep, etc. In turn, though her visits are scarce, she likes to see what they do for hobbies, the Fontaine siblings especially and perhaps partake in their hobbies, & in return teach them little things they've always wanted to try, that does not relate to the main purpose behind the House of Hearth.

am i the odd one, or you guys? cause a lot of times i see people apologizing for taking a while to reply to memes, and i’m always like ??? and maybe that’s cause i have a terrible short term memory, but i always forget whom i have sent memes to / when i did.
and i personally see the memes i received as... suggestions and reply to them as i want / as i please, if i have ideas? i delete them sometimes if i don’t see where to go with this / i don’t feel like writing what is there.
yes, memes have become a lot more important than starters in the past few years, there has been a shift in the way a lot of people write, i think. but i still tend to value drafts / plotted starters more, and see memes as something... almost personal sometimes. cause i know a lot of people won’t continue the memes (and even if they do... i don’t feel as obligated to reply to that as i do to a proper thread, as there was no binding contract saying this was a thread that was going to continue). while i love people continuing memes, and i encourage them, like, in my mind, its not a proper real thing yet.
does this make sense???
