365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
Supporting Character Supplemental - Penance
Claudette and Nicole St. Croix are identical twin sisters born to a wealthy industrialist from a prominent Monégasque family.  Nicole was identified at an early age as having a non-verbal type of autism.  Claudette was very protective of her twin sister, and both came to feel that were something of a burden on their parents, especially their father who so clearly favored their older sister, Monet.
The twins, along with their older brother and sister are all Mutants, possessing the X-gene bestowing each super human abilities.  In Claudette and Nicole’s case, they possessed a shared power to psychically switch bodies.  Their brother, Maurice, meanwhile developed an ability to manipulate the fabric of reality to his whim, yet only be feeding off of the energies of other Mutants.  Maurice had proposed to his sister, Monet, that the two use their powers to take over the world.  Monet declined and an enraged Maurice transformed Monet into a mute creature with diamond-like skin; essentially transforming her into a type of Mutant battery whom he could feed off of for years.
The twins witnessed this and sized on the opportunity to take Monet’s place.  They merged bodies and took on the form, powers, memories and behavioral attributes of their sister.   Maurice absconded off with the real Monet and the twins took her place.
Disguised as Monet, the twins would go on to become students at the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters as well as members of the Mutant hero team known as Generation X.
Much of the time, Claudette controlled the body’s outward functioning.  At other time, however, Nicole would take control.  During these times, Monet would appear to demonstrate behaviors associated with the autistic spectrum; yet since it was transitory, many of her friends and peers misconstrued her as being aloof and cold.
Meanwhile, the real Monet had become freed from her brother and ended up being cared for at the Xavier School.  Herein, she came to be known as ‘Penance.’ Due to her trauma and inability to speak, Penance was unable to tell any at the school of her true otigins.
Ultimately, the guilt over having stolen their sister’s life became too much for the twins.  They revealed the truth and used their powers once more to switch bodies.  The true Monet was reverted back to her original body while the twins both occupied the Penance body.
Monet was able to work through the terrible ordeal she had endured and the twins came to enjoy their new life as Penance.  As Penance, the twins now reside on the Mutant else of Krakoa.  Their first appearance was in the pages of Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1 #31 (1994).

my portrayal of Monet St. Croix (X-Men)
template inspired by this one!
—- BASIC INFO Full Name: Monet Yvette Clarisse Maria Therese St. Croix
Alias(es): M, White Queen, Penance
DOB: May 26 in Sarajevo, Bosnia (age 25-30)
Gender: Cis Female (Woman, she/her)
Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Heterosexual & Demiromantic
Species: Homo sapiens superior (Human Mutant) of Algerian Amazigh & Monégasque (Italian, French & unknown African) descent
Occupation: registered superheroine, businesswoman & occasional model, previously a private investigator & student
—- Physical Appearance (FC: Cindy Bruna)
Monet is a conventionally attractive female in her late 20s, who stands at 5'7" (1.7 m) with a toned physique and tanned brown skin. Her straight black hair stops a few inches above her waist & she has brown eyes. As M, she wears a black bodysuit with a white middle section & white gloves. As Penance, she has bright red skin, spiky hair, blue eyes & razor-sharp claws.
—- Personality
Various traumatic experiences have forced Monet to adopt the persona of an indifferent, arrogant person. In truth, she becomes incredibly attached to those who she falls in love with or considers to be her family/close friends. She's not good at mourning, being the type to become mostly bedridden for a week after losing a loved one to death or time. She is also very afraid of death--the only reasons why she actively fights against injustice as a superhero is because she doesn't want anyone to feel as powerless as she once did, & because some assholes just make her mad enough to want to punch them. Monet has an interesting sense of humor; she has no problem teasing those she finds attractive or shutting down those who say things she thinks are stupid. She has Major Depressive Disorder & PTSD as a result of her past trauma.
—- ABILITIES (nerfed as compared to in the comics)
Powers
Superhuman Physique - enhanced senses, speed/reflexes (can catch bullets), durability, strength (can press < 10 tons) & intellect
Telepathic Resistance - protects completely against mind altering
Telekinesis - used to fly at up to Mach-3 or to act offensively
Penance Form - can transform into this at will; form gives her red diamond-hard skin & razor-like claws
Weaknesses
In her Penance Form, Monet's typical superpowers all "disappear", save for her innate resistance to telepathy. She also has lost the ability to merge with her siblings.
—- Skills
Bilingualism - can speak English & French fluently
Modeling - has had a spread in Vanity Fair
Business Acumen - used while part of the Hellfire Club & X-Corp
—- BACKGROUND
Shortly after her brother Marius killed their mother as a result of his need to feed on mutants, Monet was asked to join him. She refused, so he took advantage of the family power of body merging. This turned her into the red-skinned, mute creature known as Penance & she reluctantly followed him, hoping he'd change her back into her normal form. While they journeyed together, he repeatedly fed on her, which would leave her with trauma. Eventually, they were separated. She'd end up on the front lawn of Emma Frost's Massachusetts Academy, home to her sisters Claudette & Nicole; the girls had been posing as Monet to deceive their father, but they'd end up swapping places with their sister. Monet then went by the codename M & found herself back in her normal form. She would become a member of numerous mutant superheroing teams, including X-Factor Investigations, Storm's X-Men & X-Corp, where she became known for her attitude & powers. She was even the White Queen of the New York Hellfire Club. Over the years, she would romance Synth, Madrox, Strong Boy & Sabertooth--the first, third & fourth relationships ending when each man died on different missions. When Krakoa became the international home for mutants, she moved there. She would die on a mission to destroy Mother Mold, the Sentinel maker, but the Five created new bodies for she & her deceased teammates. Monet then became one of the new chairs of X-Corp along with Angel.
Extra
She's Muslim, like her mother was
When she was a kid, she took ballet
Her favorite color is red

Biography
Monet was the second eldest child born to Cartier and Jamila St. Croix. Though she grew up with an older brother, Marius, and two younger sisters, Claudette and Nicole, it was no secret that she was her father's favorite.
When he brother's mutation manifested, he was overcome by his hunger for the genetic marrow of mutants, and this drove him to kill his mother. Their father kicked Marius out of the house, and Marius traveled through multiple dimensions, growing stronger.
Sometime later, Marius returned and asked Monet to join him so that they could rule different dimensions together. Monet scornfully declined, however, and Marius magically trapped her in the form of a mute creature with diamond, razor-sharp red skin, called Penance.
Monet spent years trapped in the Penance form, a slave to Marius' will and his insatiable hunger. Her younger sisters ended up being the ones to free her by merging with Penance and taking over her body. This left them trapped within the creature for a short time (an explosion being enough to separate them once again).
Monet and her sisters eventually reconnected with their father, and Monet decided to pursue a degree in business. She moved to New York when she was twenty-two, and as a lover of the nightlife, singing, and dancing, decided to open her own mutant-only club called The Mutant Underground.
Fun Facts
All of the St. Croix children have the ability to merge with one another, giving them unique appearances and abilities
The ordeal with Marius left her scarred. She's tried therapy but found it to be ineffective (for her).
If you betray her trust, you'll never get it back.
Music and dance were sort of an escape for Monet. She opened The MU with the intention of providing that escape for other mutants.
She can see mutant auras and uses this to discern who's allowed into her club and who isn't.

For @xmenofcolor‘s “Family” theme today!  The St. Croix twins and the Coy Manh twins, younger siblings respectively of Monet St. Croix and Karma! I just thought it was neat that someone from NM and Gen X both had younger twin siblings. Unfortunately the drawing came out HORRIBLE---I referenced it heavily from a photo in THIS ARTICLE but because the two in the background were adults, I had to change them a LOT to fit the St. Croix sisters and it just came out pretty bad. I’m not good at groups, I’m not good at kids, it’s just. . .bad. I tried to redo some different ones but it didn’t work out. Almost wasn’t going to post, but---I wanted to give these kids some spotlight, they don’t get much!

A Hero Among Us (3/??) → The St. Croix Sisters (M-Twins & M)
“We can ponder these things tomorrow. Right now, I’m just glad to have my sisters back.”
The St. Croix siblings were a family of mutants that were of Monacan and Algerian descent. The twins, Nicole and Claudette, were the youngest siblings and were physically identical but different entities. Claudette suffered from a severe case of autism while Nicole was the talkative daughter. The sisters were faced with grief when their mother died, unbeknownst to them, at the hands of their brother who killed their mother when his mutant gifts manifested. Their brother, Marius, was banished and life returned to normal until his return. Upon returning their brother tried to persuade Monet, the twins older sister, to join him in conquering dimensions. She refused and he retaliated. Marius magically trapped her in the form of a mute creature with razor-sharp, diamond-hard red skin; Penance. Claudette banished him into another dimension as well as Marius ‘red pet’ not knowing that ‘pet’ was their sister Monet. The twins used their mutant powers to impersonate their sister knowing she was their father’s favourite child. The twins as Monet was sent to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and would eventually play a crucial part in freeing their sister from their brother's enslavement.
