thoughts on pottery date with hanma

it's such a domestic thing to him that he's a little put off by the suggestion at first. you're on the back of his bike, watching him smoke and racking your brain for something cute you could do with this man that wasn't illegal or bound to get you in trouble — and then it hits you!

you've taken a pottery class before, and it'd been fun. so when you remember that the art college nearby is having an open day, you make a decision. “so, shuji...”

when you give him the idea, he laughs at first. “you want me to walk in ‘n spin a lil flower pot with you? a vase? what, is this your way of tellin’ me i should be getting my pretty doll some flowers next time, hm?”

and then he realizes you're serious.

imagine him sitting awkwardly on one of the little stools by the wheel, watching you shape a blob of clay with the tools you'd been handed, content with just watching you bec each group that came in was given just a single wheel.

he's so cute 😭 with his knees to his chest because his legs are so long and he's sitting so low, not knowing what to do with his hands while he waits for your creation to take shape. he's so out of his element </3

everyone's quiet and playing nice at their own corners and shuji has never stepped foot into a college building in his life before, he just doesn't know how to act. he's quiet enough that you check up on him every now and then, wondering if this was really a good idea—

“shuji, baby, you alright?” “shuji, are you having fun?” to which he responds with a simple nod or tells you “dollface i hafta be doing somethin’ before i can say if it's fun or not.”

some of the others milling around the other wheels in the room have so many tattoos, and so many people have dyed hair and wild haircuts that he doesn't look out of place exactly, but his aura still has people glancing over at the two of you. not that he minds.

he watches you patiently, because hey, if you're okay with walking into underground fight clubs with him and watching him fight, and letting him into your house at 1am to patch up his bruises and injuries, he should be a good boyfriend and enjoy whatever you want him to do with you, too. and when you finally finish with your near-perfect bowl and let him try out the wheel and ribs himself, he ends up having more fun than he thought he would<3

hanma has big palms and long, deft fingers and so even though he's never done this before in his life, he gets the hang of it pretty quick. but he's still never done this before.

his brows furrow together with focus as he runs the sponge on the inside of his spinning clay and gently touches the sides of it with the ribs. he gets clay on his chin, on his shirt and it's all over his hands in a muddy mess 😭 ++ the work comes out little better than a wonky blob.

there's time for a clean up and a little tea break while the class waits for their things to dry, and hanma notices the much bigger, more complicated models people have made and feels sheepish as he stares at his blob. he feels better when you tug at his sleeve and giggle about it though, because even if you're making fun of him at least you're having a good time<3

“what's it supposed to be?” you ask, and he runs a hand through his hair, a little embarrassed as he admits in a gruff voice, “a flower vase. for you... don't fuckin’ laugh, baby.”

“for me?” you pout sweetly, and he rolls his eyes, snipping at your nose with two fingers and cracking a grin when you dodge with a yelp. and on the way home, with your bowl and his blob flower vase carefully wrapped in newspaper and stored in your bag, he tells you that he did have fun.

“we could... do more of that if y’like.” he blushes despite himself when you hug him from behind, half of your laughter lost in the wind as he swerves his motorcycle to take a right. he glances into the mirror, heart fluttering just a bit when he sees your smile. he's glad you can't see his face right now. he feels the heat on his cheeks well enough.

“never fuckin’ mind.” he drawls, teasing. “i'm never doin’ that again then. zero outta ten, dollface.”

“no!” you protest, grabbing his shirt and pinching his side a little, and fuck it fucking tickles, he almost crashes you both into a passing tree — and he tells you so.

“might as well die if you're never gonna make an ugly ass flower vase with me again,” you huff, moving your hands onto his shoulders instead. and he smiles, knows you feel his smile when you reach over to pull his cheek.

he really did enjoy it, so much more than he thought he would. and he knew you'd be displaying his ugly ass flower vase on the sill of your living room window anyway.

maybe next time he comes over, he really will get you some flowers — for you to put into it and look at them, and think of him whenever he's not around<3

thank you for my first real ask- im working on a prodject for uni so i only covered four varriations but yeah--

Okay, so this is an abbreviated form- im going to use my fictional races as monoliths for a moment (I know) and describe the 4 of 8 races views on funeral rites and the deceased. It would still mean the world to me if you all critiqued it!

The Arcana- the Arcana bury there dead in places that have a high radiance content, the shards of the arcana’s hearts will grow into another Arcana over centuries. As there are no first generation Arcana after Logans cleanse of Iskra[1] there burial tradition was lost-however Arcana have picked up the trait of burying the dead with items they want the next generation to be skilled at. For example if they needed a stone mason they might leave a chisel with the body.

The Kara- the Kara are verry strict about the disposal and maintenance of the dead. The first wanderer[2] spoke on the matter to her confidant saying “the remains of those who died of all causes other than hashak[3] should be buried to the east of matriarchs house, with the sap of the haol tree. There mark should be transferred to a golem made of haol bark and clay.”

Humans- humans are strange with their funerary rites. Those who follow the children of Enos will typically burry the bodies in farms so the decomposing flesh and radiance[4] supports the crops. While this is the typical ritual the bone priests will actually clean the body and process it, taking only the bones and leaving the rest for animals to consume. These bones are then used in ceremonial use or transformed into magical items know as catalysts.

Watchers – watchers typically follow the same rules as humans when it comes to burial, with the only variation being in Empyrion- where bodies are taken to catacombs underground in wait of the resurrection of the burning sun. there funerals are large feasts to honor the soul of the dead.

I love your art so much! It's amazing! Can I ask for some of your Xiaolin Showdown headcanons? Especially any you have about Omi and Chase!

And here a some of my HCs, they’re a bit all over the place so I’m really sorry some of them don’t really make sense:

-Omi isn’t well like by cute or domestic animals, but for some unknown reason, insects, predators, or eldritch beings, etc, adore him. Like, if he ever get himself into a dangerous situation with one of them, they’ll actually tried to befriend or play with him before attacking him. There’s nothing Omi can do bout this. Oh and he’s really popular with the big lizards too. You can drop him in a dent of komodo dragons and they’ll let him play frishbee with them.

-One of the reasons why Kimiko like hugging Omi so much is because she saw how the old monks at the temple treat him, and she was having none of that. Omi deserve more than that and she’ll make sure of it.

-Kimiko and Jack are best friends on some tech nerds forum and neither of them know about this.

-Every time Rai see Wuya again, he couldn’t help but wonder what she’ll say. Seething anger, or lies, or taunting, but there was nothing. He definitely didn’t feel disappointed or bitter, not at all.

-Wuya sometime cast a secret glance at Rai when no one’s looking. But that’s it.

-Rai may seems like the one who’s ready to throw hands with Chase the most, but among them it’s actually Clay who’s ready to go down. He’ll always prioritize protecting his friends first, but if Chase ever cross the line and hurt Omi then Clay will make sure with everything he had that Chase will regret it.

-Chase actually plan to make Jermaine a fallen warrior, probably a cheetah.

-One of the lies Chase told Jermaine about becoming a Xiaolin warriors was that his friend Omi needs help because the fight are getting more and more dangerous, which is why he was so angry when Omi was being a jerk to him.

-Jermaine was not really into Xiaolin martial art at first, but after trainings with Chase and the Xiaolin temple, he came to genuinely love and want to practice more and more. After he finally sorted out his conflicted feelings, he returned to the temple and become the fifth Xiaolin warrior i don’t know who ping pong is

-I actually think that Jermaine would be the Dragon of Metal, while Jack would be the Dragon of Lightning. Jermaine’s fighting style centering on strength and fast offense, so it would fits the hard, impenetrable metals, while Jack can provide his own energy for his devices.

-Kimiko now has conflicted feeling for mermaids.

-When she gets older, Kimiko studies the mechanics of the Shen Gond Wu, and actually figure out the base design that Dashi created . Give her enough time and she could even pitch a blueprint for a simple Shen Gong Wu.

-Chase know Guan is stronger than him, but he never considered Guan as an enemy as much as Hannibal. He knew that Guan had compromised too much, and lost his true principles of a warrior in order to pursue petty glory, subsequently making him lost his insight and will. Even if Guan is stronger, Chase know how to manipulate him, how to lure him in with hollow promises, making him willingly eat the rotten apples. A true laughable end to their past friendship, to two honored warriors of Dashi.

-Chase and Guan had a shady agreement where Chase would provide the stages where Guan could shine as a hero, and Guan will conveniently let Chase scoutes the potential warriors in the Xiaolin Temple. The agree was broken off later in the series.

-In the good Chase universe, after the soup incident, Chase begin to quietly observe Guan more, conflicted about how he had trusted Hannibal subconsciously, and realized that it was because he had always been aware of how Guan looked down on him, even when they’re friends. Later down the line, Guan begin to let the glory and fame hunger get to him, and Chase, already had enough of his arrogance, leave. Losing both Danshi and Chase, Guan begin to pursue his own self interest and later willingly drink the soup to gain more power.

-Also the reason why evil Guan hate Omi so much was because GC universe’s Omi poked Guan’s eye this one time really hard.

-Chase thinks that Omi is really funny. Like, whenever he’s in a bad mood he will either go training, meditate, or just think of Omi’s top ten cringe fail moments, or Omi’s top ten absolutely deliver his enemies moment, or just Omi’s top ten anything in general.

-Wuya actually adapt very fast with modern day’s pop culture. She also thinks that Lana Del Rey is the only one who gets her.

-Chase seriously contemplated throwing Hannibal into the lava. He tried. Didn’t work for some reason.

-Hannibal had a degree in Psychology

-Chase don’t really get why Omi become a cat instead of like one of his other warriors. People thought he knew but he really doesn’t. But cat Omi’s cute so whatever.

-Chase’s close tiger warrior had a lot of fun biting Omi by the scruff of his clothes and shakes him. He thinks that the sound Omi make is very funny.

-In fact, all of the warriors thinks so too. So yah, good luck Omi

-Chase un ironically thinks that Omi’s fail slangs makes more sense.

Today was a really nice day. But why do I still do crumby still. Sucks. It was a beautiful day and I had a lot of fun for the most part.

I slept alright last night. But I had really bizarre and intense dreams. When I woke up at 730 I felt alright. A little weird but fine. I was looking forward to my outfit. Which is silly but I haven't worn this shirt in a while and I always like it. And this was the first time I've worn these shorts this year. It just felt nice.

I let my phone charge a bit while I got ready. I made sure James remembered sun screen and I packed big spray for us. James was in charge of our extra battery pack. And I had snacks for us.

I was a little frustrated that James had a bagel for breakfast and there wasn't anything I wanted. I would end up with a slice of angel food cake but it has a weird after taste I didn't enjoy. But it was fine. I was excited to get on the road.

It was a little less then two hours to Calvert cliffs. And it was a really nice drive. We listened to podcasts. I tried not to just stare at my phone. It was a beautiful day.

And when we got out there it was so nice. The long sleeve was a good call, as it was not even 10 when we got there and it was still cool. And once we got near the bay it would be cool there as well.

We would use the bathrooms first, got on bug spray, and started on the red trail. It was a very easy hike. It was just under two miles but it was very flat and mostly under shade. It started on a man made pond but we followed along a stream that would eventually become marsh which would eventually become the Chesapeake Bay! We saw little animal, like skinks and frogs and lizards. We saw a bever dam and even had to walk on the edge of the bride because it had flooded. Some park staff were working on taking down part of the dam to get the flooding to stop. Which was very funny to me.

I really just enjoyed the walk. I was the least uncomfortable I have been since last week. I had fun talking to James and was just in a very good place.

When we got to the bay beach it was super pretty. You can go under or on the cliffs anymore because it's to dangerous because of erosion. But the part of the beach that was accessible was really nice! There were a few other people, some kids. But it was quiet. Except for the weed wackers the staff was using on some plants but that didn't bother me. I took my shoes off right away and was having fun having my feet in the sand and water.

We were there to look for fossils but it turns out I have no idea what to look for? Like shark tooth fossils are what the beach is known for, but there were also other kinds to be found. But there were so many shells too it was hard to tell what was what. Also, weirdly, rocks that weren't rocks but instead were clay?? It was fun though! We had brought a small shovel and we would share that. I found a few things that might be fossils, no teeth, but shells and possibly barnacles or scallops. Regardless it was fun!

James didn't take their shoes off and got there one foot wet trying to jump over a stream. They said it was just a mild annoyance. We would sit on a drift wood log and talk about having kids. And things were afraid of. Things we hope for. It was nice watching the little kids digging and trying to find things. And it was just so beautiful out. I felt really happy.

I was starting to have the weird bone pain in my legs again. Something that's been happening all week. But it was fine. I would be okay. I actually felt pretty fine and soon we would start the hike back to the car.

The walk back we saw more skinks and lizards. We ran into a family that had been at the beach with us and they were trying to catch a frog so I showed them the picture I took and they went back to see if they could get it. Apparently the mom promised to kiss whatever they could catch. Which was hilarious to me.

The walk back felt a little longer. But it wasn't bad. I felt like I was seeing more blue lizards. I never was fast enough to get a picture to identify it but it was fun to spot them. And soon enough we were back to the parking lot.

James went to use the bathroom and I went to read a park sign about not picking up grandes you find. "If you didn't drop it, don't pick it up!" Bizarre.

The car was to hot from sitting in the sun so we opened the doors and ran the AC for a minute. I was hungry. And we needed gas. So we headed back out of the park and back to the real world.

We had to go like a half hour before we found somewhere but it ended up being perfect. A cute little deli. We got sandwiches. I could only eat half, so I have a half sandwich and coleslaw for later. And then we notifed that there was a shell gas station and a Marshalls and a Harris teeter all across the street. All the places we had planned on going. Amazing.

First we got gas. James cleaned the windows. And then over to Marshalls to look for bubble bath but no luck. We would find some bath milk powder at Harris teeter. And the kewpie mayo we were looking for. As well as the shampoo James uses. Excellent.

My body decided that I had had enough. And started to feel bad again.jamwa would get my squish mallow donkey from the backseat so I could use it as a pillow. And I just sort of rested and looked out the window for the hour plus drive home.

Mr Will called on our drive home to let us know he has painted the door. Thank you Will. It looks great honestly. And the drive back wasn't bad but I really really wanted to be horizontal.

I was very happy to be home. When we got back here I considered a shower but I just couldn't. I got out of my hiking clothes and laid down.

I slept a while. I had strange dreams again. But it was whatever. I woke up at 530 and had a note from James that they were biking but it was from earlier and they were in the kitchen making texmex. I went and hugged on them for a little before going to take that shower.

I washed my hair and the shower hurt my skin but it was fine. I was glad to be clean.

After that I just wanted to lay down again. I felt exhausted. I would go and just be a potato for a while.

Eventually I did get up and move to the living room. James heated me up leftovers. And we hung out and talked. And that was really the end of the day. I've been hanging out here watching omelet the frog and hearing all the fireworks. I wish I felt better. But at least a good portion of the day I felt good. Let's hope every day I can feel a little better.

Tomorrow we are planning on going to buy light jackets and then go and use our kayak. I hope it's fun. I hope you all have a good day. Take care of yourself! Goodnight!

#SublimationIsWar : guerre après guerre, battle after battle

Donald Trump et Elon Musk étaient les "visages" de la mixtape créative originale Cancel Culture. Les Louvin Brothers, ceux de Satan Is Real (soutenus par le Dr. Victor Frankenstein). Muhammad Ali, aka Cassius Clay, aka The Greatest, personnifie le nouveau mix War Of Sound, le troisième volet de la trilogie de deejay-battles #SublimationIsWar Vs. Serge Coosemans. Sa parution est prévue le 3 juin.

« Tu vois, le jeune, c’est comme ça que les hommes se parlent entre eux » peut-on entendre dans une séquence de transition de The Second Battle, le deuxième volet de la trilogie. Ce sample d’une tirade de la voix française de Clint Eastwood (dans Gran Torino) prend place au moment d’un changement de contrôle. Et ce dans une séquence belge (improvisée) du mix, un morceau méconnu de Front 242 répondant à une perle oubliée de Major Problem, obscur side-project de Lords Of Acid. C’est comme ça que les vieux punks se parlent entre eux.

Auteur (“La Guerre du Son”, “Glossaire du DJ”…), blogueur (Casacosmani), chroniqueur, ancien journaliste (Rif-Raf, Voxer, Focus Vif), lui-même un temps co-animateur de podcasts (Focus Brolcast) et assembleur de mixtapes éclectiques sur Radio Rectangle (Le Grand Remplacement), Coosemans est le Mocker, un artiste de la punchline. Il participe à une nouvelle manche de notre saga Guerres et Paix (2 podcasts et 3 mixtapes). L'effet de surprise est passé mais l'intensité va crescendo.

Une troisième battle un mois après la précédente. La paix n'en finit plus ?

War And Peace (The Battle) n’avait laissé que de bons souvenirs. Sa réalisation, en mode compétitif (pour ceux qui n'auraient pas compris ce qu’est une battle…), fut une expérience divertissante, et le résultat nous semblait plutôt plaisant à écouter. Le mix a reçu de bons échos tant de connaisseurs pointus que d'un petit public de curieux, moins initiés. Coosemans et moi avons des #opinions radicalement différentes sur… à peu près tous les sujets sérieux, en plus d’un historique personnel ultra-houleux, mais placez-nous devant une pile de disques et nous serons souvent sur la même longueur d’onde... Nous nous sommes à nouveau bien amusés durant The Second Battle, la décision d'organiser un troisième round fut donc prise de façon naturelle.

Qui joue quoi dans ces sets ? The Second Battle a un côté jeu de pistes. J'ouvre le set, puis tous les les changements de contrôle (sauf un) sont subtilement annoncés. Il y a des surprises... Tones On Tail, joué par moi, faisait partie de la pré-sélection de Serge. Je l’ignorais. Killing Joke, choisi par lui, émarge aux classiques incontournables de Sublimation; j'en avais longuement parlé dans les derniers podcasts de la série #SublimationIsBack, The Public Image et Poptones.

Killing Joke, Tones On Tail, Bauhaus, The Dead Kennedys, Gang Of Four, The Human League, Eno... Je crois bien que l'album My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts de David Byrne & Brian Eno est aussi culte à ses yeux qu'aux miens... Ces références, entendues dans les battles, se trouvent à l'intersection de nos goûts musicaux, lesquels sont quelques fois très différents mais souvent complémentaires.

Ces mixtapes contiennent des titres d’artistes beaucoup moins connus.

Chacun amène son univers particulier et ses propres armes sur le champs de bataille... On s'insulte par samples interposés, ce qui est rigolo, mais c'est surtout évidemment sur le choix des morceaux - et de la manière de les amener, de les enchainer (généralement deux par deux) - que la compétition repose. Je dois reconnaître que je ne connaissais pas plusieurs des titres joués par Serge; je pense l'inverse exact. Parfois, de temps en temps, l’un de nous joue même un « tube ».

A quoi s'attendre dans cette troisième battle ?

War Of Sound (The 3rd Battle) comprend des choix audacieux et inattendus, des mashups… On y entend des samples de Muhammad Ali, mais aussi de Klaus Kinski et d’autres intervenants plus surprenants. Il s'agit, de mon avis, comme de celui de mon partenaire/adversaire, du meilleur épisode de la trilogie; le plus profond, le plus cohérent, le plus sérieux, en un sens, même si l'humour y est à nouveau bien présent.

Serge a dit de ce troisième tome sur Twitter qu'il était "plus proche de Heroes que de Lodger" (en référence à la trilogie berlinoise de David Bowie; Heroes, le deuxième opus, étant assurément le meilleur et le plus abouti des trois disques).
