Switching to Compostable Panty Liners
Tumblr media
Plastics are all around us but their invasion of period products has created an environmental nightmare. These may appear convenient for transportation yet are harmful to your environment. Even the sanitary pads for heavy bleeding have plastic layers that make them uncomfortable and smelly. The frequent usage of these combined with poor period hygiene can cause major problems.
This is why it is best to shift to Compostable Panty Liners and disposable pads to reduce your impact on the ecosystem.
Why make the shift?
Thanks to the leading brands using periods for designing the best sanitary pad for heavy flow, the annual menstrual waste in the nation stands at 9000 tonnes. All this plastic-based waste is sometimes flushed down through the toilet or disp of with the regular garbage. This causes a segregation nightmare. Further, there is no adequate system for the disposal of menstrual waste and India is struggling as the top nation with such issues.
The frequent disposal of menstrual waste and plastics creates an unending cycle. These also have body fluids and blood that can cause deadly diseases. It also collects pathogens that affect the soil and ultimately the water sources. Apart from this, rag pickers have to face the brunt of such callous disposal. Burning of these pads results in equal issues.
For us who have grown up using regular pads, considering healthy alternatives is crucial. Unless we make a small switch, our nation will continue to struggle with period waste and management.
Other benefits of making the shift
The shift is also important for your hygiene as these pads are triggers for inflammatory disease and cervical cancers. These may also impact reproductive health and hygiene.
With plastic-based pads, the discomfort rises over time. Unless you change your pads frequently (an expensive idea), you may find yourself struggling with health and hygiene issues. Undergoing treatments can be painful and prolonged. To avoid the same cotton-based on based panty liners that are affordable and ideal for regular days.

Anti capitalistic methods of self reliance!
Everyday items:
Plastic bags can be replaced by cloth bags you can sew, without any prior knowledge of sewing, from any old shirt you were going to throw away
Toilet paper can partly or completely be replaced by 'Family cloth', which is a series of cloth napkins cut to the size you like, which are then washed after each use! There's no risk of disease if only used for number one, for number two they need to be submerged into peroxide liquid in order to be safely cleaned. Even if you only use them for number one to stay safe, being reusable and costing nothing they will save you a lot in not having to buy toilet paper
Paper towels can be replaced by little cut-out cloths you can easily wash after use, or a simple kitchen and bathroom cloth for cleaning
Paper tissues have originally been handkerchiefs, washable and reusable, zero waste option (and they can be very pretty too!)
Laundry detergent can be replaced by horse chestnuts, or conkers! If cut open and submerged in water, they will produce soapy water, which is equally good at cleaning as your laundry detergent, completely environmentally friendly and free if you foraged the chestnuts. They can be collected and dried to use for the entire year, and you can tie them up in a sock to put in your washing machine.
Cleaning products can be replaced by vinegar, and if you hate the smell you can change it by infusing citrus peels in it! It will smell like oranges and lemons after you leave them in there for a few weeks
Cleaning products can also be self-made, by fermenting food scraps, it's called 'enzyme cleaner' and it can clean most of things in a completely environmentally friendly way!
Shampoo can be self-made, or replaced with options like herbal teas, which will also ensure that your hair no longer gets greasy, as grease is the result of using shampoo
Menstrual pads can be sown from any discarded pieces of cloth, they only need to be submerged in cold water after use in order for blood to wash out. Additionally you can make washable menstrual panties, which make sure your pads don't move in there!
Simple medicine for aches like stomach cramps, headaches, anxiety, sore throat can be found in the basic knowledge of herbalism, and simply making teas from herbs that soothe these issues. They will not be able to cure a heavy disease, but are able to provide momentary relief from annoying aches!
Immunity booster syrup can be made out of elderberries, if you're careful about not getting any seeds or stems in!
if you're growing food, you can grow your own dish sponges, and washing sponges, the plant is called 'Loofah' and you can grow a whole lot in one season then use them for years
Reuse plastic items for as long as you can, to lessen the amount being thrown into landfills, and if you need new items, aim to get a not-plastic one
If you have lots of paper trash or newspapers, you can learn to make baskets from it.
Instead of throwing away food scraps, you can try setting up a simple composting bin and also get some valuable free soil, that is great for growing little plants and herbs in it
If you're composting on a big scale, the heat compost produces can be used to heat a room
getting into hobbies like soap making, pottery, woodcarving, sewing, knitting  or weaving can also save you a lot of purchasing because you realize you can simply make that thing yourself, and in better quality than it would be available at the store
Saving water and energy:
Accumulating water in a big pot while you're washing dishes, then using that water to water your houseplants is safe, especially if you're not using a lot of detergent, and it saves a lot of water
To save energy when cooking in a pot in the stove, wait until your pot starts boiling, then take it off the stove, and wrap it in a cloth, then a towel, then a blanket, and leave it wrapped up. The layers of cloth are making it difficult for the heat to escape the pot, ensuring it will keep very high temperature for half an hour, cooking as if it was on the stove. If it needs to cook longer, you can just put in on the stove for a minute to get it back to boil. You can cook pasta, rice, beans, potatoes, soups, stews, risotto, pretty much anything with long cooking time like this.
If your water boiler is big, you don't need to leave it on at all times, I've reduced my electricity bills by a lot by turning it on only when I intend to use the hot water. In the summer, if you have access to a natural body of water, use that for washing!
If you own a property, watch where the water is naturally going and accumulating; you can collec t this water and set up a system to use it for gardening/any outdoor use
if you're building a structure, making sure that the sun hits the windows in the winter, and that the place is protected from the wind by growing trees as a wind shield, will save loads of energy in heating and cooling it, as well as making sure the structure is well insulated
Heat/cool only the parts of the structure/house that you're using, making it both environmentally friendly and ensuring you don't have a too big temperature difference when you go outside, making you healthier
Try an experiment were you go a day without electricity and see what you can use as alternative in this situation; it's okay if you fail, it will provide you with knowledge of how dependant you are on the energy, and the ideas of what you can possibly do when without!
Clothing:
If sewing clothing from scratch is something that appeals to you, that is ideal for self-reliance! It is likely that after just a bit of practice, you'll be able to sew more quality items than are sold, because current fashion items are made to fall apart, and you can make your clothing strong and durable.
Sharing clothing you no longer want to wear, and letting others know they can offer their unwanted pieces to you can provide you not only with practical clothing, but you can use all fabric, buttons, zippers and other materials to sew! You can, again with minimal practice and even by hand-sewing, make your own bags, tablecloths, placemats, pillows, blankets, decorations, hats and scarfs
Visible mending, embroidering, adding details or creating your own little alterations on clothing will not only provide a sense of accomplishment, but enrich your life in the way of skill development and being able to make and mend things with little resources
Learning about history of textiles and what fast fashion is doing to the environment provides appreciation and love for sewing and creating textiles, and could inspire you to try and see how it feels to do!
Any piece of clothing that is no longer fit to be remade into something new, can still be cut into pieces and used for cleaning, as a paper towel replacement, for wiping the floor or wiping your shoes, and if it's soft, for pillow filling!
For extra clothing or furniture, you can join online groups named 'buy nothing' and 'sharing is caring', where people will often gift extra clothes and furniture for free, sometime appliances and electronics too
Food:
If any outside space is available, learning to garden is an excellent investment in food security
Seeds can be harvested from plants you already have, gifted from neighbour or friend gardeners, and some can even be taken out of store-bought produce
Soil can be taken from the forest ground which has composted leaves as topsoil, dig under a tree for best results
If no outside space is availabe, dwarf plants, herbs, and greens can be grown in containers, clean your air while they also provide food
Learning to forage for wild edible plants will provide both entertainment and free food! Any wild plant you find is likely to be more rich in nutrients than a cultivated plant, making your diet well rounded and healthy
Learning to grow trees and care for them will provide free food not only for you, but for generations to come, as well as offset the damage from the climate change. Knowing how trees work and how to prune and nourish them is powerful knowledge.
Preserving food:
Ways of preserving your food long-term are curing (for onions, potatoes, garlic, pumpkins), canning (tomatoes, peppers, fruit), fermenting (cabbage, hot peppers, turnips), dehydrating and sun-drying (tomatoes, fruit, herbs, hot peppers, mushrooms)
Growing and collecting food during warm months and then saving them for winter was done by people for centuries and it provides a safe and reliable access to food all year round
Buying cheap produce when it's in-season and preserving it can save you a lot of money and bring you far in self-reliance
Making your own recipes and then getting to eat them later in the season bring a sense of accomplishment and pride, as well as providing a zero waste food option
Cooking food from scratch is made easier by having some of your food preserved, because a lot of the time you've already prepaired most of your ingredients, and only have to place them in the pot
If you already know to make your own bread, you can also try making your own yeast, by mixing flour and water, and letting it ferment while adding more flour and water every day. It can last forever.
If you're interested in knowing more about gardening, herbalism, tree care, and foraging, check the 'Homesteading Survival Knowledge' masterlist, filled with links on these specific topics!
These are not ideas that anyone should quickly or immediately integrate in their life; instead, trying whatever seems interesting and appealing, slowly learning about it and trying one thing at the time is more encouraging and sustainable! I myself have spent years learning and integrating these, enabling me to feel happy and confident doing any and all of this. If this is overwhelming, pick whatever feels appealing and do only that! Forget the rest until it feels easy and fun thing to try out.

Open Your Home to the Common House Centipede
A common sight in homes throughout Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Australia the common house centipede (Scutigera coleoptrata) is a medium-sized species of centipede originally from the Mediterranean. In the wild, they prefer grasslands and deciduous forests where they can hide under rocks, logs, or leaf litter. These insects have also adapted well to urban development, and are frequently found in basements, bathrooms, and garages,  as well as gardens and compost piles.
Like other centipedes, the common house centipede has less than 100 legs; in fact, they only have 15 pairs, with the front pair used only for holding prey or fending off threats. All those legs let the common house centipede move up to 0.4 meters per second (1.3 ft/s) over a variety of surfaces, including walls and ceilings. The actual body of S. coleoptrata is only 25 to 35 mm (1.0 to 1.4 in) long, but the antennae are often as long as the body which can give this insect a much larger appearance. However, they can be hard to spot, especially in their natural environments; their tan and dark brown coloration allows them to blend in seamlessly to surrounding vegetation.
Though they pose little threat to humans, house centipedes are predatory. Their primary food source is other arthropods, including cockroaches, silverfish, bed bugs, ticks, ants, and insect larvae. S. coleoptrata is a nocturnal hunter, and uses its long antennae to track scents and tactile information. Their compound eyes, unusual for centipede species, can distinguish daylight and ultraviolet light but is generally used as a secondary sensory organ. When they do find prey, house centipedes inject a venom which can be lethal in smaller organisms, but is largely harmless to larger animals. This makes them important pest controllers. In the wild, house centipedes are the common prey of rodents, amphibians, birds, and other insects.
The mating season for S. coleoptrata begins in the spring, when males and females release pheromones that they can use to find each other. Once located, the male spins a silk pad in which he places his sperm for the female to collect. She then lays fertilized eggs in warm, moist soil in clutches of 60-150. These eggs incubate for about a month, and the young emerge with only four pairs of legs. Over the next three years, juvenile house centipedes molt 7 times, each time gaining new pairs of legs. After they grow their last pair of legs, immature house centipedes molt an additional 3 times, at which time they become sexually mature. If they can avoid predation, individuals can live up to 7 years in the wild.
Conservation status: The common house centipede has not been evaluated by the IUCN, as it is relatively common both in the wild and in urban areas. Although they have been introduced to areas outside their native range, no detrimental environmental effects have been associated with their spread.

Gaetano Pesce (8 November 1939 – 3 April 2024)
Moving against the stream of rational, functional modernism in the 1960s and early 70s, Mr. Pesce experimented with materials and production methods to create furniture pieces imbued with political or religious meaning for brands from Cassina to B&B Italia.
Many would go on to become icons of Italian design including the Up5 chair – an innovative vacuum-packed chair designed to resemble a female prisoner – which he designed for B&B Italia precursor C&B.
Pesce moved to New York in 1983 and began to move away from mass production to create "standardised series" in everyday materials like resin, adapting conventional production techniques to create varied and imperfect outcomes.
The result are pieces such as the 1884 Pratt chair, which toe the line between functional design and decorative art, helping to create a new category that would later become collectible design.
Mr. Pesce was born in the Italian city of La Spezia in November 1939, only two months after the start of world war two.
As was common at the time, he trained in both architecture and design, studying first at the University of Venice and later at the Venice Institute of Industrial Design.
Among his architecture projects is the Organic Building in Osaka from 1993, with its plant-covered facade made of orange fiberglass that served as a precursor to today's vegetation-covered green walls.
But Mr. Pesce's most pioneering and well-known work happened in the world of design. In the late 1960s, he became one of the leaders of Italy's Radical Design movement, rejecting modernism's rigid focus on forms dictated by function.
Instead, Pesce focused on the idea that functional objects, much like art, could carry a deeper message.
One of the most famous examples is the controversial Up5 chair from 1969, which manufacturer B&B Italia describes as "the first product of Italian design with a political meaning".

(so I wrote something to go with those @flybyenight vampmogen drawings...)
Thirty years should feel like a blink to Imogen and all of her centuries, but with Laudna-
“N-no, I just-”
She feels like a child again, every moment new, fascinating, somethin’ to fixate and wonder on.
“You’re very flustered.”
Laudna’s pulse thunders in her ears
“I hate these social events.”
That is true. Bein’ formidable only got her so far- far from far; hundreds of years reclusive inside the walls of her mansion, every tile and piece of parquet imbedded in her muscle memory. Laudna lured her out, inflicted an existence on her that aligned something close to living, as close as she could be forgiven; experience varied rather than the slow-rot which incubated an un-compostable mush of days to years to decades
gifted burden with herself
Imogen evolved to keep an eye over her shoulder (over Laudna’s)
The mind-reading thing is less of a curse there, at least, eased the paranoia
“We can always leave…”
“I wouldn’t forgive m’self, y’all really pulled it off gettin’ us here - I was even invited through the threshold an’ all-”
Laudna pulls gently on one of Imogen’s braces, adjusts her shirts pleated collar so it sits correctly beneath it.
“And with a bow, too- should I be worried you will bend a knee for someone else?”
“My actin’ can only go so far-” Laudna would argue with her on that “-the heiress was smellin’ real good though.”
“Oh?”
Laudna never gets jealous, she understands Imogen’s needs, allied herself with the parasite, entertained and engaged with those needs too, more importantly.
“Pampered life, virgin blood. Can’t say the same for her partner.”
“How scandalous”
“Ya’ll should of heard what he was thinkin’ about the busboy”
“The half-orc?” Imogen hums affirmative “-Indulge me.”
Imogen can’t help the breathy scoff that accompanies her smirk.
“In the servants’ kitchen, must’ve been between prep and assembly…”
Imogen’s hand meanders to Laudna’s hip, pad of her thumb reading the threads of intricate lace layered over delicate silk, smooth in how it glides over the supple skin underneath, the slight fat and muscle and nerves between it and her pelvic bone in their own decorative organic pattern. Imogen can trace it all, appreciate the artisanal hand of the lacemaker and the flesh that crawled from riverbed and evolved and morphed into this human - would like to think that she could despite the aid of her curses, despite her hyperawareness leaving many things that should be illegible to be reading material - grey matter and venous system
She leans up and in towards Laudna's ear (her breath inhales, pulse picks up in pace) her teeth graze at her earlobe, Imogen feels the energy humming in the raw nerves of her canines, the aching swell in her gums to accommodate
Stacked silverware and serving trays, linens bunched around ankles

You'd be lying if you said you weren't a massive fan of the rock group, The Valyrians. In fact, you did lie on your job application. Now, in your new position, you were their loyal servant in every sense of the word. Nonetheless, when their belongings start to vanish, Aemond begins to imagine you're the culprit and has finally caught you in the act.

"You've really got to be joking." Rhaena's angelic voice cut through the air, and you looked from your feet to the pile of odds and ends gathered around your backpack. "Stealing is one thing, but the things you chose are plain weird."
"Stealing is wrong, no matter what you take," Helaena chided from the doorway. "I understand wanting trinkets, but please stop."
"She can't stop. Look at all this shit—you're a fucking pervert." Baela muttered. You couldn't find a way to disagree.
Your backpack was stuffed with an eclectic mix of their most personal possessions. It started with an innocent intention—to return Hel's ladybug scrunchie that you'd seen her leave behind in the dressing room five cities ago.
But then, you saw Rhae's lip gloss laying on a counter and couldn't resist taking it. You remembered watching her apply it, in that slow sexy way where not a spot on her lips wasn't shiny, and went back to the hotel and practically made out with the wand.
Baela's favorite bra had been the riskiest thing until today, your heart beat rapidly every time you heard her complain to the stylist about how it had come up missing. You liked to wear it as you finger fucked yourself, imagining her arms were the ones wrapped around you.
There were other things too.
Thank you cards meant for other fans, a pair of socks, earrings from all of them, Baela's gua sha roller, Helaena's set of butterfly hair clips, Rhaena's colored pencils and a sketch pad... Even a used compostable coffee cup.
You had collected so much from the girls. You didn't want to forget how special they had made you feel when this job was over. They had been so, so good to you, including you in everything, making you feel less like a lackey and more like one of them. You had gone above and beyond being just an admirer, you were obsessed. You wanted that feeling to last forever.
"We don't have time for this!" Baela shouted, "I want everything that you took back and you better be cool about it. I don't want any Yolanda Saldívar shit happening."
"Baela!" The other two girls tried to reign in their drummer, but she was adamant.
"No, don't Baela me! Clearly she's insane and out of line." You watched the girls' feet walk out of the room and winced when the door slammed behind them. Thankfully, they took it better than you expected and, most importantly, you hadn’t been fired yet.
You were about to go for your backpack when you noticed Aemond was still in the room. He snagged it up and began to rifle through your treasures. Your eyes finally lifted from the ground and you frowned at him. You sighed in annoyance when he pulled out the pair of underwear you had managed to get from Rhaena today. He gave a quizzical raise of an eyebrow and a smirk etched onto his lips, but he didn't seem to be judging you and that made the hair on the back of your neck raise in a pleasant way.
"What did you take of mine?" Aemond spoke for the first time since he had called the girls in here after catching you zipping up your back pack. You had seen him watching you for the last few days, but the thrill of taking something new outweighed your sense of self preservation.
In truth, you hadn't taken anything of Aemond's. He had been your reason for applying for this job in the first place, but you came to realize that his blasé blah stage persona was real. In the beginning of the tour, he had been... well you couldn't quite say warm, but he had been warmer toward you. Now, he was all stares and silence.
His eyes seemed to be constantly on you, he'd linger around and watch, but you did whatever you could to try to put him in awkward circumstances. Like bending over for too long and then glancing over to see if he was peeking up your skirt. The answer was always yes, but he never looked embarrassed when caught.
"Why would I take anything of yours?" You gave him a smile that was all teeth and more of a snarl. You had long ago dropped the shy girl act you put on for the others. He wasn't nice to you, so fuck him.
"Do you think I'd want to remember you, Aemond?" You heard him suck his teeth and watched as he dropped the backpack to step closer to you.  He was so tall, looming over you, but you didn't back down. Instead, you matched his gaze with your own heated intensity. "Or are you just upset I don't get aroused by the thought of you?"
His eyes glowed with something that made you think you misread his previous intentions. Maybe he hadn't been acting nonchalant? Maybe he genuinely wanted you?
You decided to test your theory.
"Poor little neglected, Aemond. Upset the crazy girl didn't take anything from him?"
He grabbed your lower face with one of his large hands, the studded rings on his fingers were warm and pressed into your skin ever so slightly. "There's nothing little about me, Sweetheart."
Aemond's thumb came to trace your bottom lip and you bit it playfully. His eyes watched in fascination as you sucked it into your mouth. "Your mouth is as naughty as your thoughts, huh?" he said as he pushed it deeper, so that all you could do was moan in response.
He pulled his finger from your mouth, only to lean down and replace it with his tongue. Your body reacted to the sensation with a moan of pleasure. His hands moved to your hair, gently pulling it as he kissed you.
You both stumbled backwards until your back hit a wall. He continued to kiss you hungrily, as if he couldn't get enough of you. You opened your eyes to find him watching you intently, and let out a small groan.
Aemond finally broke away from the kiss and looked at you with burning desire in his eyes. "Do you want to remember me?" he asked hoarsely. Without waiting for a response, he hurriedly tugged at his shirt until it was off and tossed away across the room. You gasped at the sight of his bare chest, admiring the hard planes and curves of muscle beneath the smooth skin.
His hands came up to cup your face, and he stared deeply into your eyes before leaning down to press feather-light kisses along your jawline and neck. Your breathing was so loud that it filled the entire room as electricity seemed to travel through every nerve ending in your body. He grabbed one of your wrists and pinned it above your head as one of his legs came between yours trapping you against the wall.
"Say yes," he murmured huskily against your ear before pulling away just enough to look into your eyes again.
"Yes," you nodded vigorously, feeling yourself grow more lost in him with each passing second. "I want to remember you."
He spun you around in a swift and graceful motion, taking you by surprise. Only then did you notice that Aemond had backed you up to the large mirror wall in the dressing room; and you found yourself staring into your own reflection.
You could feel his breath on the back of your neck and it sent a shiver through your body. His hands moved up and down your torso as he held you tight in his embrace, and his lips found the nape of your neck and kissed it lightly.
He started to move his attention lower, squeezing and caressing your hips and ass. You felt your body responding to his touch, and you found yourself pushing back against him as he continued to explore.
There was a mounting pressure between your legs, as Aemond's fingers pulled the bottom hem of your mini skirt up and moved your underwear to the side. He brushed against your clitoris, eliciting another moan from your lips. His other hand massaged your inner thighs, and you could feel yourself getting wet.
He leaned in closer to whisper, his voice low and full of desire. "Yeah, I'll give you a reason to want to remember me." The words sent excitement coursing through your body and you pushed back against him harder, wanting more.
He seemed to understand what you wanted, as he alternated between soft caresses and firmer strokes around your clitoris, teasing it until it was hard and swollen with desire. You were so close now that you could feel your legs trembling as he continued to stroke you nearer to the edge.
The sensations were overwhelming, yet still not enough.
"Aemond," You whimpered out his name. He moved further down and began rhythmically rubbing around your entrance before slipping a finger inside of you.
When you were slick and ready, Aemond added another finger and then another, stretching you wide open as he pumped his hand into your sensitive flesh. You felt yourself beginning to spiral out of control as he moved his fingers in and out of you faster and faster.
You could feel the pleasure radiating throughout your body with every thrust, and you could see your fucked out reflection in the mirror.
Finally, you reached the peak of satisfaction and let out a loud gasp as an intense wave of euphoria swept through you. Your eyes closed in ecstasy. Your body throbbed and your head spun as Aemond continued toying with you until you were completely spent.
As he pulled his fingers out of you, you felt yourself melt against him, exhausted and in awe of the experience you had just shared. You opened your eyes to see him looking at you through the mirror with a satisfied smirk. He gave you a quick kiss on the forehead and stepped back.
"You're fired."

have just about 1k of soft swumulus (can yall tell I don't like thinking of titles for ficlets?)
Tumblr media
Swiss yawns, shuffling into the kitchen as the sun rises, a thin layer of snow across the Abbey grounds from the previous night, swirls of frost along the windowpane. He scratches idly at his stomach, just above his low slung sweats, as the coffee maker hums alive. Swiss isn't normally an early riser, but something had woken him in the middle of the night, and despite tossing and turning for nearly two hours, he hadn't been able to fall back asleep, hence his desperate search for caffeine.
He leans heavily on the counter as the coffee maker rumbles, heating up water. He grabs the carafe and a filter, filling it with grounds and cursing as he spills some on the countertop, sweeping them hastily into the scrap bin that Mountain will take out to the compost when he heads out to the greenhouse.
His eyelids are heavy, and he figures he can just rest his eyes as the coffee brews. His tail thuds against the cabinets as it lazily twitches. Taking long, slow breaths through his nose, Swiss wills himself to stay awake. Because, of course, he can't sleep when he's in the comfort of his own bed, but has to fight not to fall asleep standing up barefoot in the ghouls' kitchen.
"Surprise to see you up this early, dear," a voice calls out softly.
Swiss jumps a full foot off of the floor, heart racing as his eyes fly open. He takes a deep breath, laughing at himself as Cumulus smiles sleepily at him, leaning on the doorframe, clad in a tight t shirt and the tiniest pair of sleep shorts, her white curls tied up in a silk scarf, thick glasses resting on her nose. "Morning, cloud," Swiss says, smiling easily back at her.
"What are you doing up so early?" she asks, yawning and stretching as she goes to stand next to him, tucking herself into his side. Her fangs glint as she yawns, and Swiss fights back his own yawn.
He shrugs. "Something woke me up, couldn't fall back asleep, figured I'd just get up."
She stands up on the pads of her feet, reaching to kiss him on the cheek. "Aw, poor baby," she teases, but there's no malice in her voice. "You'd sleep til noon every day if you could get away with it."
He laughs, yawning and stretching up above his head until something in his shoulder pops, slinging his arm around her shoulders. "You know it, Cue. You want coffee, when it's ready?"
"I love you," she says, reaching up to cup his jaw, directing him down to kiss her. He pulls away playfully, crinkling his nose.
"Okay, Miss Morning Breath," he teases, avoiding her lips.
"You have no room to talk. Besides, I brushed my teeth already," Cumulus protests, but he can feel the way her shoulders shake with laughter.
"And you're gonna have coffee?" Swiss laughs, bending down and kissing her sweet on the lips. "Coffee and toothpaste, yuck."
She grins, and he accidentally kisses her teeth. He pulls back, nose crinkling. "Sorry, dear," she smiles, butting her opalescent horns gently against his shoulder. "You just make me happy."
Swiss flashes his own grin down at her, bending down and kissing her between her horns. "Me too, cloud."
The coffee maker beeps, the smell permeating the kitchen. Sooner or later, it'll drift down the hallways, where those early risers with sensitive noses will wake to the scent. But for now, it's just them. Swiss extricates himself from Cumulus's arms, grabbing her favorite mug and one of his own. He gives her a generous pour, filling his own mug as she grabs the creamer from the fridge.
"Anything fancy you want in yours, cloud?" Swiss asks, rummaging in the spice cabinet. He lights up, grabbing the jar of ground cinnamon and looking for the sugar.
"We still have brown sugar, right?" Cumulus asks, pouring creamer into her mug. Swiss nods, grabbing the nearly empty bag of brown sugar and finding the honey jar, the stuff from Mountain's hives. He passes her the brown sugar and a spoon.
She smiles warmly at him, trading him the creamer. "I'll add that to the shopping list for the next time someone goes to town," she says, staring down at her mug as she adds a spoon of sugar.
Swiss hums in appreciation as he doctors his own mug, sprinkling cinnamon into the mug as the honey dissolves. She laughs under her breath as he adds a second spoonful of honey, eyes glittering up at him. "You take your coffee so sweet, Swiss."
He smirks, stirring it in. "Just as sweet as you, my cloud."
She scoffs, rolling her eyes as she takes a long sip, mumbling a curse under her breath as her glasses fog up with the steam. "You are an incurable flirt. What happened to you being tired?"
He laughs, bumping his shoulder into hers gently before taking a long swig from his mug, downing nearly half of it in one swallow. His eyes shut, moaning appreciatively as the taste hits his tongue. "My dearest Cumulus, I'm never too tired to flirt with a pretty ghoulette."
She grumbles, but she's smiling. "Haven't even washed my hair yet."
"Doesn't matter, still love you" Swiss says, pulling her into his side as they both enjoy their coffee.
"Love you too," she whispers back, warming her hands on her mug.
It's quiet in the ghoul den for once, the others still asleep. The place will burst into noise as the others wake, tempted by the smell of fresh coffee. But for now, they bask in each other's presence, warm and content.

What are Compostable Panty Liners?
Tumblr media
As people become increasingly aware of the impact of their daily choices on the environment, they are seeking more sustainable options for products they use every day. This is where compostable panty liners come in. These products offer a more eco-friendly alternative to traditional disposable panty liners, which can take years to decompose in a landfill. In this blog, we will discuss compostable panty liners and their benefits.
Compostable Panty Liners are made from plant-based materials such as bamboo, corn starch, and eucalyptus. They are designed to be biodegradable and break down easily in a compost pile, returning valuable nutrients to the soil. Unlike traditional disposable panty liners, compostable panty liners do not contain plastic, which can take hundreds of years to decompose.
Benefits of Compostable Panty Liners
Environmental Sustainability: The most significant benefit of compostable panty liners is that they are environmentally sustainable. Traditional disposable panty liners are made from plastic, which takes a long time to decompose and is harmful to the environment. the best sanitary pad for heavy flow, on the other hand, are made from plant-based materials that can break down naturally in the soil, reducing their impact on the environment.
Safe for the Body: Compostable panty liners are made from natural materials, making them safe for the body. They do not contain harmful chemicals, which can cause irritation and other health problems.
Cost-effective: While sanitary pads for heavy bleeding may be slightly more expensive than traditional disposable panty liners, they are a cost-effective option in the long run. They can be used as part of a composting system, which can help reduce waste and save money on disposal costs.
Conclusion
Compostable panty liners are an excellent choice for those who are looking for an eco-friendly and sustainable alternative to traditional disposable panty liners. They are made from natural materials, safe for the body, cost-effective, versatile, and easy to use. By choosing compostable panty liners, we can reduce our impact on the environment and take a small step towards a more sustainable future.

What's a bin bed? You mentioned it with the tomatoes and I am intrigued.
Also thank you for all the Truancy pics they always light up my day.
Because of the way that my small lot is mostly covered in the shade of enormous, 150 year old trees, the only place with enough direct sunlight for veggies to thrive is on my driveway in front of my garage. It's a big concrete pad, so there's room for it, but obviously I couldn't plant directly there and I didn't want to do some kind of permanent raised bed.
So instead what I have is probably one of the lowest-investment, easiest methods of gardening. It's six cheap plastic tote bins, each with a few holes drilled into the sides a couple inches from the bottom. (Not actually in the bottom, mind you. Putting your drain holes on the sides lets some water stay in the bottom without letting things get soggy.)
The bottom six inches or so is sticks, some leaf down, and crappy regular dirt. Mostly just there to fill space and hold water. The top part is raised bed soil, compost, and coconut coir (mostly because I'd bought some cheaply in brick form and had it available.) Depending on weather and heat, I water these daily or twice weekly--mostly if I see the plants drooping, I go water them.

I'm growing LOTS of tomatoes, and my black bell peppers, chili peppers, and black chilis are starting to fruit. The carrots in the other two beds were planted on the fourth of july and should be multicolored and ready to harvest by fall.
If you're in an apartment or a rental and have a balcony with good sun, try doing this! It's been super easy, and I've had almost zero problems with pests or weeding.
