I was doing my fabric seaching at the store when I saw this item. So went home to give it a test. If you do not really want to use real leather for your outfits, you can use this HeatNBond vinyl iron on to a fabric. It have matt and gloss. What I got I think it was matt finishing. And those who are thinking of doing the runaway outfit from andor TV series. I think this is one way to do the vinyl iron on if you can't get the right color. What I try was after I do the vinyl iron on, I went on to iron it again on to a base fabric with the double side adhesive tape under the fabric that have the vinyl look. I think for applique sewing, it is pretty easy to sew on the machine.

What am I working on now? Bowsette is what I’m working on! Yuna…didn’t look right. I thought the flowing top would be flattering…I was VERY wrong. It looks BAD on me. "Though I know I should be wary" And my first of the Halloween looks I'm making this year is done! Beetlejuice was my favorite cartoon as a kid and I did a horrible attempt with a blanket and a sharpie for the very first con I ever went to, but I always wanted to go back and do it right! When my @beetlejuicebway obsession hit I knew it was time. I wanted to do the animated series costume but I wanted to add some of the textures that the Broadway costumes have, so I made the cloak out of a raw silk dupioni to give the red a bit of depth, and did the spider web patterns with venise lace dotted with 100 tiny rhinestones. Super simple rolled hem tutorial for you! I'm not the most experienced seamstress, but I'm self-taught and somehow manage! 😂 Wanted to share this for everyone who's asked for more sewing tips.⁣ ⁣ Mine ended up a bit wider than I wanted, closer to 3/16" when I intended 1/8". The fabric I used is a slippery Chiffon, and will be for a sheer tunic-dress- thing for Venusaur. Chiffon is a notoriously finicky and difficult to work with fabric, but sometimes that's what ya need for your cosplay!⁣ ⁣ A rolled hem is possibly the most standard way to hem this material. So, this is the first post of several about how I made Zelda! I will try to share as much of the progress, as I can. But sometimes I was just too focused to take pictures 😅 Please ask questions if anything is unclear! I'd call myself a sewing beginner still, so this will be helpful for those who try to choose which project to pursue first! Especially in current times, I hope I can help some people! Patterns for Zelda's research outfit and royal cape by @maridah 🤗 . The basic assembling of Zelda's cape was actually pretty easy to me. I don't know if I just chose the easiest part first or if it was easy to me because some stuff was familiar from when I made my Mahoutokoro coat. You go through similar motions and it's easier to figure out which part goes which way where. First time doing actual lining, but it's not that different to doing a reversable coat 😂 Doing applications was an actual first for me. I chose to use vliesofix because I thought it would be the easiest to me (if you know me as the sewing noob I am, you know that I always try to adjust to a method that's the easiest to me😅). On the coat, I actually did it the wrong way around... I used the frizzy satin left over from my coat and cut out whole pieces first, then cut big pieces of vliesofix and ironed them on, which created a whole lot of an adhesive mess on my iron and iron blanket 🙈 (don't worry, I learnt and did it differently for the overshirt!) I then ironed on the big corner pieces first, before sewing it on and continuing with the smaller pieces in the middle. I should mention that I did the hood first to test it all out. I had to figure out the settings on my sewing machine, so you will see a difference to the middle pieces and the overshirt later on! On that note, I think I will have to mention @sadi_roma on every single post about this, as she helped so much with getting this giant sewing project done in time!💞 I bought the closure on etsy, it really wasn't easy to find 😂 . I hope this helps!
